Josh O’Connor: Working with Olivia Colman is ‘peak’ of career

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh O’Connor says working with Olivia Colman on ‘The Crown’ is the “peak” of his career.
The 29-year-old actor – who portrays Prince Charles on the Netflix show – admitted it has been a special experience on set, and he insisted the 45-year-old Academy Award-winning star is incredibly grounded.
He told ES Magazine: “Epic. I remember looking over and being like: ‘Holy s**t! This is it. This is the peak for me.’
“You have to stop yourself midway through a scene and be like, ‘I’m acting with Olivia Colman!’
“But then she’s also got this amazing thing where they call ‘cut’, and she’s like, ‘Shall we have a cup of tea?’ ”
Josh has enjoyed playing Prince Charles opposite Olivia’s Queen Elizabeth II, and he joked his “big ears” landed him the role of the royal.
He added: “I did think immediately, who’s gonna play Charles? I don’t know anyone my age who’s got these. They’re not huge, but they stick out.”
He also insisted he doesn’t “really buy” the suggestion that male stars are pressured to charge their body image for roles.
He explained: “I don’t really buy that. Richard Madden said that recently — ‘the pressure on us lads’ and so on. But I haven’t experienced it.”
Meanwhile, Josh also previously revealed everyone on set was delighted to see Olivia win a Best Actress Oscar for ‘The Favourite’ earlier this year.
He said: “We can’t stop talking about it. We’re so happy for her, it’s thoroughly deserved. It’s the first of many for her.”
And despite how welcome he was made to feel during the first days of filming, he admitted the all-star cast was initially quite intimidating.
He added: “There were more physically demanding scenes or emotionally demanding scenes, but the first day on set was the hardest because I walked into an unbelievable powerhouse of a series with incredible actors like Olivia and [Helena Bonham Carter and Tobias Menzies].
“There’s an endless list of brilliant actors. Walking in and feeling the weight of it, it was so difficult.”
The full interview appears in this week’s issue of ES Magazine,
Thursday 11th July 2019.

AJ Pritchard says brother Curtis is genuine but he can be ‘too honest’

OHMYGOSSIP — AJ Pritchard says his brother Curtis can be too honest but he wasn’t “playing a game” with Amy Hart on ‘Love Island’.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro has defended his 23-year-old brother over claims he was toying with the Irish beauty when he called time on their villa romance after he pursued Jourdan Riane while the girls were at second villa Casa Amor, and admitted he couldn’t guarantee his head wouldn’t be turned again.
However AJ, 24, told ITV’s ‘This Morning’: “People said he was playing the game. Well, no, if he was playing a game he’d have just stuck with her, made it look perfect, won it, and then left and it would all have gone sideways.
“But no – he is so honest that he just had to be true to himself, and true to Amy. As much as it did hurt for us to see, and for them in the villa, it was the best thing.”
And the sibling’s mother Debi agreed that the former flame’s half-relationship was “so real”.
She said: “I think initially, truly, both Curtis and Amy, it was real. Every second of those two, three, four weeks was so real. The bubble was there, and Amy’s friendship grew and grew and grew.
“And when the bubble burst because of Casa Amor, Curtis was out of the bubble and maybe stopped to think maybe Amy’s relationship is growing at a faster rate to mine, and he questioned it.”
While AJ and Curtis’ dad Adrian had some doubts about his son going into the villa, he had faith in him to “do the right thing”.
He added: “Originally, I was thinking is this the right thing to do? But I thought people will see, that is Curtis there. He’ll do the right thing. He thinks he’s on holiday, literally.
“But the thing is, I could tell from his body language that something wasn’t right, and that was horrible for us to watch. He was so upset, that was terrible.”
Meanwhile, AJ admitted he’s missing his younger brother and broke down in tears when they last spoke to each other on the phone.
He said: “It is sad, I just wanna give him a hug… I got the phone call, he said ‘I’ve gotta put the phone down now, I’ve got to go into the villa’. I was in the gym on my own crying my eyes out. It was the saddest thing ever.”

Kevin James to replace Simon Pegg in Becky

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin James is set to replace Simon Pegg in new action thriller ‘Becky’.
According to Deadline, the 54-year-old actor and comedian is to take over the role of the central villain of the movie opposite ‘Annabelle: Creation’ star Lulu Wilson after Pegg dropped out due to “a scheduling conflict”.
The film – from Yale Productions and BoulderLight Pictures – will be helmed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion and is due to start filming in the next few months.
The story centres on a rebellious 13-year-old (Wilson) who accompanies her father to a lake house for a weekend getaway in an effort to reconnect after her mother’s death.
However, the trip takes a dangerous turn when a group of convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick (James), invade the lake house leading Becky to take matters into her own hands.
Yale Productions’ Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman are producing with Raphael Margules and J.D.
James is best known for his roles in Adam Sandler’s 2010 buddy comedy ‘Grown Ups’ where he starred alongside Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider as five lifelong friends who reunite for a July Fourth weekend with their families as well as portraying Doug Heffernan on the CBS sitcom ‘The King of Queens’ from 1998 to 2007.

It director Andrés Muschietti ‘more comfortable’ working on Chapter Two

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘It’ director Andrés Muschietti was “more comfortable” working on ‘Chapter Two’ after the success of the original.
The 45-year-old filmmaker has admitted that after the 2017 adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror novel of the same name was a huge hit at the box office – raking in a massive $700.3 million with a budget of $35 million, making it the most commercially successful horror movie of all time – he has felt happier “in general” making the follow-up film as he has “more toys” and more cash to splash.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “In general, I feel more comfortable. I have more toys.
“On the first one, I was struggling to get a Technocrane [A telescopic crane for a camera] on certain days. But now the Technocrane is always there!”
‘It: Chapter Two’ is set 27 years after the first instalment and sees grown-up versions of the Loser Club as they face off against Pennywise one more time as the evil entity returns to terrorise the children of Derry, Maine.
The ‘Mama’ helmer went on to tease that the upcoming film – which will see Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, James Ransone and Andy Bean play adult-versions of Beverly, Bill, Richie, Eddie and Stan, respectively – will include “everything that people love” from the first film – but “cranked up”.
He said: “I think that everything that people love from the first one, like the humour and the emotions and the horror, will all be there, and cranked up, in some cases.”
Chastain, 42, previously revealed that the movie has the “most blood that’s ever been in a horror film”.
She said: “It’s scary man, I love the scary stuff but it’s more fun to be the scary person than the one getting scared.
“I’m going to say something, and I think I’m going to be in trouble but I’m going to do it, in the movie there’s a scene and someone said on set that it’s the most blood that’s ever been in a horror film in a scene. I can tell you the next day I was pulling blood out of my eyeballs, like, fake blood.”

Dave pairs up with Edinburgh Comedy Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave has announced its new partnership with the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
The longrunning ceremony – which was established in 1981 – celebrates the best of both established and up-and-coming comedians performing at the city’s Fringe festival each year, and the UKTV channel will be the even’t sponsor for 2019.
Luke Hales, Dave’s channel director, said: “We spend a lot of time talking to our audience about what they want from both comedy and Dave, and one of the most common responses is asking to be introduced to new comics – so partnering with The Edinburgh Comedy Awards feels like the perfect way to help us discover even more new talent.
“We want to make sure Dave is immersed in fresh comedy in the real world, as well as on television.
“We love the Edinburgh Fringe Festival here at Dave, and this year, wanted to build on our involvement alongside Dave’s Joke of the Fringe – we’re extremely excited to help support the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, who share our passion and commitment for supporting both new and established comedy stars.”
Part of the partnership includes a new trophy designed by UKTV Creative, and there are over 750 different comedy shows eligible for the shortlist, all of which will be seen by the judging team.
Nica Burns, Director of the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, added: “We are delighted to announce that our new title partner is UKTV comedy channel Dave.
“There is an incredible synergy between us; we both love comedy and are always looking for up and coming talent – the stars of tomorrow – to sit alongside the stars of today.
“Many of our nominees, from James Acaster, to Nish Kumar, Sara Pascoe, Romesh Ranganthan and Lucy Beaumont are stars or panelists on Dave’s original comedy strands.
“We are looking forward to a great partnership and announcing our first Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Award nominees and winners.”
The nominations will be revealed on August 21, with a cash prize for each category.
The panel and newcomer prizes are each worth £5,000, while the winner of Best Comedy Show will pocket £10,000.

Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs set for Corrie chaos

OHMYGOSSIP — A ‘Coronation Street’ newcomer is to drive a wedge between Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Stape.
Lottie Henshall is to join the cast as new character Jade, who Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) will invite to move in with the couple after she does a good job tutoring daughter Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan).
An ITV source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Jade arrives as a teaching assistant from Birmingham, who Fiz asks to help Hope readjust and settle back into the family home.
“As Hope loves Jade, Fiz invites her to stay and tutor her daughter. Her character drives a wedge between Tyrone and Fiz after she moves in with them.”
Jennie returned to filming on the cobbles earlier this month after going on maternity leave to give birth to her second child, eight-month-old Hilda.
And the star is concerned she won’t be able to learn all her lines.
She said: “It feels a bit like going back to school after the summer holiday, I’ve got butterflies.
“I’m worried I don’t have enough space left in my brain to learn all my lines.
“But the producers have promised I’ll be eased in gently.”
Hilda will be heading to the same nursery as Jennie and husband Chris Farr’s first child, Albert, four, went to because there is no creche on the ‘Corrie’ set – but Jennie admits it is probably for the best because she wouldn’t get much work done if there was one.
She said: “It’s probably a good thing Corrie doesn’t have a crèche. I’d always be disappearing from set to see her.
“We have a great support network around us too, who can help. We’re very lucky.”

Love Island’s Tyla Carr felt ‘horrendous’ after hair loss

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ star Tyla Carr felt “horrendous” when her hair fell out after the birth of her son.
The 25-year-old beauty – who appeared on the ITV2 dating show in 2017 – started losing large clumps of hair and developed bald patches when she stopped breastfeeding her seven-month-old baby Archie.
She said: “It was horrendous. I had always had lovely thick hair and it grew even more luscious when I was pregnant with Archie. But that all changed when I stopped breastfeeding.
“I began to notice clumps of hair coming out in the shower in the morning, blocking up the plughole.
“And there was so much hair around the house I used to joke that I would fill up the Hoover bag. Your hair is such an integral part of your beauty routine and it was devastating to see how thin and lacklustre it looked with bald patches around the temples.”
Tyla – who split from Archie’s dad Rossco Edmonds last month – has now taken steps to restoring her locks by taking new supplement GROW by Hair Grain after getting tipped off on the treatment by a friend.
She added: “My friend had lost her hair by the temples just like me and I couldn’t believe how quickly it all grew back after she took Hair Gain. I have had to change how I part my hair to cover it and I want my lovely old bouncy hair back.”
The reality star admitted it was “upsetting” to lose her “fantastic hair”, but she has total confident that Hair Grain – which promises thicker, fuller hair in a month – will help it grow back.
She said: “I had read about women losing their hair after stopping breastfeeding but I never thought it would happen to me.
“I had always had fantastic hair so it was particularly upsetting to see it all falling out. I am confident that it will grow back quickly now that I am taking Hair Gain.”

Ant Middleton in talks for kids version of SAS: Who Dares Wins

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant Middleton is in talks for a kids version of ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’.
The former Special Forces soldier admitted he would love to take on a fresh challenge by putting children through their paces in a new edition of his popular Channel 4 series.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “I’d absolutely do a kids version of SAS. We’ve been talking about it.
“It’s all about mindset so it would be getting the kids to get strong mentally and physically.”
The gruelling boot camp-style series could be tough for the kids taking part, particularly after Ant, 38, admitted he doesn’t make eye contact with his nine-year-old son Gabriel if he gets injured to try to prevent the youngster from crying.
He previously said: “I do say to him, ‘Son, come on, you’re a little man now, have a stiffer upper lip.’
“If he was to fall over and hurt his knee and look up at me, I avoid eye contact. The moment he sees my eyes he’s going to start crying.
“However, if it was my daughter [Shyla], I’d be straight over there to comfort her.”
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins For Stand Up To Cancer’ is set to become a “whole series”.
The charity special saw 12 stars pushed to their limits on a seven-day slog led by chief instructor Ant in front of an impressive 1.7 million viewers, and bosses at Channel 4 are said to be offering up a large budget to get “massive names” to take part in a full run of episodes.
An insider said last month: “Channel 4 were really pleased with the reception the celeb charity version got, and now producers have got big budgets in place for a whole series.
“They are keen to attract massive names to take part … they really want to avoid it being saturated with the usual reality names.”

Himseh Patel busked to get into struggling musician ‘mindset’ for Yesterday

OHMYGOSSIP — Himesh Patel went busking in Norfolk in disguise to get in the “mindset” of a struggling musician for ‘Yesterday’.
The British actor plays singer/songwriter Jack Malik in a world where The Beatles never existed in the movie and the composer Daniel Pemberton has revealed they sent him out dressed in a wig to play substandard songs to get him ready for the role.
Daniel told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “We sent him busking which is one of my favourite things. We said, ‘You’ve got to see what it’s like to be a struggling singer-songwriter’.
“He played songs that we helped write for him.
“Not many were that good but he had to play them, just to get into the mindset of what it was like.
“He went into Galston, which is where a lot of it is filmed in Norfolk. They recorded it with secret cameras as well.”
The film – which also features Ed Sheeran and Lily James – has a very special scene where Jack eventually comes face-to-face with the iconic band’s late frontman John Lennon, played by an actor – who has not been named out of respect for the ‘Imagine’ hitmaker’s legacy.
Opening up on the touching scene, former ‘EastEnders’ star Himesh admitted:”It kind of took my breath away, to be honest. It felt so poignant, of course, and yeah, really beautiful.
“This whole film is kind of a ‘what if?’ story, and it felt like the tip of that, you know? “Maybe there’s a universe in which that’s where John is. And then he still turns out to be this wonderful, thoughtful, philosophical man.”
Director Danny Boyle recently revealed they didn’t hold auditions for the special part.
He explained: “We just talked about this actor and I sent it to him. I knew him, and I knew he was a lifelong Lennon fan. For him, it was a special journey.
“He didn’t want to be credited in the cast, in the list, and he didn’t want it to be talked about or become a thing or anything like that.
“He just wanted to do it to honour someone that was very important in his imaginative life. He never met him or anything like that, but he played a huge part in his imaginative life.”

Danny Dyer ‘set for The Business sequel’

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer is reportedly being lined up for ‘Back In Business’.
The 41-year-old actor starred in cult hit ‘The Business’ alongside Tamer Hassan, 51, in 2005, and now 14 years later it’s said a highly anticipated follow up is in the works with Hassan holding discussions with production companies and investors after penning a script for the sequel.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Tamer is incredibly excited about the script. Fans of ‘The Business’ are going to be in for a treat.
“There’s still so much intrigue around that movie and both Tamer and Danny still get a lot of love for it.”
While Dyer remains focused on his TV career as he plays Mick Carter in BBC soap ‘EastEnders’, it’s said he would be “excited” about reprising his role.
The source added: “Danny remains dedicated to ‘EastEnders’, and shooting the movie won’t affect his role in Walford. But, of course, he’s excited about the prospect of reuniting with Tamer on screen.”
‘The Business’ – which was set in the 1980s and written and directed by Nick Love (‘The Sweeney’) – saw Dyer star as street thug Frankie, who escapes from his rough South London estate and heads to Spain.
Once he arrives there, he meets and develops a bond with Charlie (Hassan), a nightclub owner who is connected to local gangster Sammy (Geoff Bell).
While Charlie and Frankie go into business together, the latter ends up falling for Sammy’s wife Carly (Georgina Chapman).
Dyer’s most recent movie role came in 2015’s ‘Assassin’, and he has been largely focused on ‘EastEnders’ since his debut in 2013.

Jack P Shepherd: Fake Corrie beer tastes bad

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack P. Shepherd says the fake beer on ‘Coronation Street’ tastes “like a**e”.
The 31-year-old actor – who plays David Platt on the ITV show – has revealed some secrets about the soap’s pub scenes, admitting the beer bottles are filled with water and the pints are made up of low-alcohol beer Kaliber.
In response to a Twitter user who tweeted him to say his character is “a big Newton and Ridley pilsner head”, in reference to the soap’s fictional brewery, he replied: “Because in those bottles it’s actually water
And in the pints it’s a shandy/Caliber mix ….and tastes like arse. (sic)”
However, things could be far worse for cobbles stars as ‘Peaky Blinders’ actor Liam Tulley revealed the BBC drama’s fake beers taste like “absolute p**s” and are made up of egg whites, soda and cold tea.
In response to Jack, he wrote: “In peaky blinders we had cold tea, soda and egg whites on top. Absolute p**s. (sic)”
Fortunately for Liam he didn’t have to sink too many of the tea-filled beverages.
He wrote: “Only had to sip it a couple of times but it wasn’t nice (sic)”
Jack recently called for a Costa Coffee machine to be installed in the ‘Coronation Street’ canteen, after the soap signed a sponsorship deal with the chain.
He wrote on Twitter: “Hey @CostaCoffee seen as tho there’s a Costa on coronation street, what are the chances of getting a Costa machine in the canteen? Just throwing it out there…. please. We would love you forever. (sic)”
Costa then replied telling Jack he would have to ask his boss, series producer Iain MacLeod, about the possibility of a machine being installed.
They wrote: “LOL!! Need to speak to your boss about that Jack! – Natalie (sic)”
Jack then claimed he had squared the idea with the Iain, and admitted he gets thirsty on set all day.
He wrote: “Yeah I’ve spoke to him, he said that’s fine, we’ve made space so I’ll meet you in reception? I’m in the bistro all day and I’m a parched. (sic)”

Samia Longchambon can ‘spot the signs of murderers’ thanks to Corrie role

OHMYGOSSIP — Samia Longchambon thinks she can “spot the signs of murderers” thanks to her ‘Coronation Street’ character.
The 36-year-old actress “doesn’t trust people as much” as she used to before joining the ITV soap in 2000, and now believes she has a better ability to spot a wrong-un after her alter-ego Maria Connor previously got engaged to several bad boys.
She said: “I like to think I would spot the signs of murderers now, as she’s been engaged to a couple of them.
“I think Maria trusts people too easily. I don’t trust people as much, but I think that’s part of being in this industry.”
Samia – who has four-year-old son Yves with husband Sylvain Longchambon, and nine-year-old daughter Freya from her previous marriage to Matthew Smith – admits it would feel “really weird” to leave the soap after appearing on the show for so long, and says she could be “institutionalised”.
She said: “I feel old now. I’ve been on the show for my whole adult life – it’s more than half my life, in fact.
“It’s quite scary, although you never have time to get sick of it.
“The core cast and crew tend to stay the same, and you feel like you’re grown up together. Maybe I’m institutionalised.”
And Samia expects her daughter Freya to follow in her acting footsteps – because she can already cry on demand.
Speaking to Notebook magazine, she added: “Freya is definitely a future actor – she can get tears within seconds.
“Jane Danson [Leanne Battersby] can’t believe it – when she comes over she always says, ‘Go on, Freya, do that crying thing that you do.’
“Her little lip will start wobbling and she’ll just cry. I don’t know how she does it.”
Samia recently put pen to paper on a new ‘Corrie’ deal to keep her on the cobbles until 2020.

Love Island bosses approached Anna Vakili via Instagram

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ bosses approached Anna Vakili to join the show via Instagram.
The 28-year-old pharmacist’s sister Mandi Vakili has revealed her sibling didn’t apply to go on the ITV2 dating show and was shocked when she received a message from the producers.
Mandi said: “She was approached on Instagram, so she was sort of scouted. She never applied.
“It’s not how it works usually, usually everyone applies.
“But Anna didn’t apply, they messaged her and contacted her and we were like, ‘Oh my God, is this really happening?’ ”
Anna tried to tempt the show’s bosses to put her sister into the villa as well – and Mandi admits she would love to appear on the programme.
She said: “Because me and Anna are so close she kept pushing the producers to meet me.
“It was originally meant to just be Anna, but there was a brief period of time where we were both meant to be going on there.”
Asked whether she would like to go on the show after watching her sister in the villa, she said: “Yeah, definitely.
“Because I feel me and Anna can be more ourselves when we’re together, because we’re so close. We’re like two halves.
“If I was there she would be more herself, and the same way she would be more herself if she was with me right now.
“It would be fun but it would take away the drama that ‘Love Island’ wants. They want head turning, ship jumping sort of thing. But that wouldn’t happen because me and Anna are so close.”
Anna has come under fire from some viewers after she dumped Jordan Hames for Ovie Soko, only to appear to go back to the 24-year-old model after sharing a smooch with him, following a bust up with the 28-year-old basketball player.
But Mandi doesn’t think Anna should do anything differently on the show.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she added: “I would say, ‘Just keep being yourself.’
“She’s being herself.”

Morven Christie slams sexual harassment in TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Morven Christie thinks sexual harassment is rife within British television.
The ‘Grantchester’ actress claimed men are “enabled” to abuse their positions with female co-stars and stressed that it is “not OK”.
She said: “There has been a lot to put up with in this industry for a long time.
“That whole culture, it is like, ‘Enough, man’.
“In television particularly, things get enabled that are not OK.”
The 37-year-old actress went on to tell of a conversation she’d had with a younger female friend whose co-star told her he would “launch [himself]” on her.
Speaking on the ‘Two Shot’ podcast, she said: “I have just had a long conversation with an actress. I have known her for a long time and she is quite a bit younger than me.
“An actor, the most powerful one on a production, on a night out said, ‘By the way, I am gonna launch myself on to you by the end of the night because that is what guys my age do to girls your age’.
“She had to do two emotional scenes with this guy the next day. So she told him, ‘Can we agree you won’t do that?’ ”
And the ‘Bay’ actress is now planning to confront the actor about his comments to make him think again about his behaviour.
She said: “My feeling is that I’m going to say something because I don’t feel the environment we work in should support that. It is not a delicate situation. The only delicate thing is this person’s ego. If I can say to this person, ‘I know this happened, this is sexual harassment, do not do this again’. That is what I am going to do
“I will tell him, ‘If this is what you do when you are p***ed, do not go out – the culture is not going to support this any more’.”

Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke for X Factor All Stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke will take part in the ‘All Stars’ version of ‘The X Factor’.
Louis Walsh – who mentored Shayne to victory in the 2005 series – is returning to the programme for its upcoming specials, and though he doesn’t know who he’ll be working with on the celebrity version of the show, he’s confirmed some of the talent show’s biggest previous winners will be taking to the stage once again for the best of version.
He said: “I go to Los Angeles on Tuesday, I go to Simon’s house in Malibu, it’s me Simon [Cowell] and Nicole [Scherzinger] and we’re doing the celebrity one.
“We haven’t been told who the celebrities are I’ve just read bits in the papers. They want it to be a surprise to us when they walk out.
“It’s going to be great, and then we do the ‘best of’ all in one week, all the winners are coming back. Leona’s coming back, Alexandra, Shayne, they’re all coming back.”
The 66-year-old music manager thinks the time was right to shake up ‘The X Factor’ and try something new and he thinks both the celebrity and all star specials will be great viewing and “bigger and better” than anything currently on TV.
He told Mirror Online: “It’s been so long as the old ‘X Factor’ it had to change.
“I don’t know what he’s planning for next year but this year I think the celebrity version is going to be brilliant and then the best of is like, wow.
“Simon doesn’t want us to know who is doing the celebrity version and he doesn’t want to know. I’m going on Tuesday and we start on Wednesday.
“It’s going to be new and fun, it’s going to be Love Island meets everything, it’s going to be bigger and better.”
Leona won the third series of the show in 2006, while Alexandra triumphed two years later.

Angus Deayton slams BBC censorship

OHMYGOSSIP — Angus Deayton thinks the BBC is more worried about censorship than ever.
The 63-year-old star thinks the network should have grown increasingly more progressive but believes the public broadcaster makes it difficult for comics to work because it is so politically correct.
He said: “Auntie caters a little bit too much to retired colonels in Cheltenham and is too worried about offending. It’s odd because you’d think things would progress, but the BBC has got worse.
“You have to be more wary, you probably have to censor yourself slightly more now than you ever did. The corporation should have moved on, followed in the footsteps of Channel 4.
“But we live in a more politically correct age. It’s the most difficult environment to work in, always has been.”
Angus was fired from ‘Have I Got News For You?’ after 12 years in 2002 when he was revealed to have used cocaine and been unfaithful to his then-partner, Lise Mayer, but the presenter believes the scandal changed his career for the better.
He told Event magazine: “When you are in a long-running series you don’t look outside it because you don’t really need to do much else.
“When you don’t have that you are much more open to offers, like presenting ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ or making a motoring show in Madagascar with Mariella Frostrup.
“These are things I probably would not have done if I had been chairing a regular weekly quiz. There are always silver linings.”
But the ‘Waterloo Road’ actor doesn’t think it changed him as a person.
He added: “I don’t feel as if I have changed at any specific juncture of my life. I think most people who meet me now would say I was roughly the same person as when I was 19 or 20.”
