Amy Hart: Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard won’t last

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Hart doesn’t think Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard will last.
The ‘Love Island’ star quit the show for her own “sanity” after getting her heartbroken by dancer Curtis but now Maura has confessed to Curtis she likes him, air hostess Amy insists their romance won’t last.
She said: “I don’t believe Maura liked Curtis. She was telling me to drop him. She took the mick out of the way he acted. I think she thought he was the best one left out of the single ones. She wants to be on the show for as long as possible and go the distance. They aren’t suited.”
And Amy doesn’t think Maura and Curtis or any of the other Islanders will end up having sex on television in the coming weeks.
She added: “No one wants to have sex as it’s a family show now. It used to be more niche but my 73-year-old nan and grandad are obsessed with it. It was hard knowing they would be watching it and seeing me upset.”
The blonde beauty admits going through a heartbreak for the first time in front of millions on television wasn’t the best idea.
She said: “You should have had a boyfriend before going on the show. Going through my first major heartbreak on television isn’t the wisest choice. It’s embarrassing to have the younger people in the villa guiding me through my heartbreak.”
And Amy has praised the ‘Love Island’ producers for helping her the best they could and being “on call for 24 hours”.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I used to suffer from anxiety travelling around the world as an 18-year-old. I used to be a bit scared of therapy and since going in the villa I love it. They gave me tools to deal with it. They were on call for 24 hours.”

Millie Bobby Brown set for The Eternals

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown is reportedly set for a role in ‘The Eternals’.
The 15-year-old actress – who is best known for her starring role as Eleven in hit Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ – is reportedly preparing to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a role in the upcoming mysterious project, which is set to enter production at the end of summer.
Millie was first reported to have landed a role in the movie by Variety magazine, though the casting has not yet been confirmed, and as of the time of writing, there are no hints as to what her role would be.
The teen star’s casting comes as the likes of Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, and Keanu Reeves are also believed to be starring in the cosmic comic book project, which is being helmed by Chloe Zhao.
None of the rumoured cast have been confirmed as of the time of writing, but it is believed Marvel Studios will make a casting announcement for the upcoming movie during San Diego Comic-Con, which kicks off on July 18.
Although unconfirmed, rumours suggest Richard Madden could play Ikaris, who is fuelled by cosmic energy in the movie, with one plot line of the film involving a love story between his character and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans.
Angelina Jolie has been rumoured to be taking on the role of Sersi.
‘The Eternals’ is based on the 1976 Marvel comic series by Jack Kirby, which sees the titular fictional species – who are offshoots of the evolutionary process, and were intended to be the Earth’s defenders – do battle with the Deviants.
‘Ruin’ writers Matthew and Ryan Firpo have signed up to pen the script for the movie, and Marvel Studios’ president Kevin Feige will produce the picture.

Gary Oldman to star in Citizen Kane writer biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Oldman is to star in a biopic about the writer of ‘Citizen Kane’.
The 61-year-old actor will join forces with David Fincher on the movie, which will be the filmmaker’s first feature film since 2014, about screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz.
According to Variety, Oldman is in line to portray the lead role in the motion picture, ‘Mank’, which is based on a script penned by Fincher’s late father Jack, who passed away in 2003.
Sources told the publication that the film will follow the tumultuous development of the script between Mankiewicz and the movie’s director Orson Welles.
Production will begin in November and the motion picture will be shot in black and white.
Cean Chaffin and Douglas Urbanski will produce alongside Fincher.
‘Citizen Kane’ starred Joseph Cotten, Dorothy Comingore, Everett Sloane, Ray Collins and even Welles himself.
While the 1941 mystery drama movie was nominated for nine Academy Awards, it only picked up one, for Best Writing (Original Screenplay) thanks to Mankiewicz and Welles’ script.
Fincher is also expected to helm a ‘World War Z’ sequel, but earlier this year it was reported production had stopped following a budget dispute.
Production was due to start on the movie – which is to star Brad Pitt – over the summer.
Sources said at the time that the project was still in the early stages and Paramount had been looking to fill out the cast, but the studio had concerns with the budget.
The original movie also hit budget issues in pre-production, and its costs spiralled further when producers brought Damon Lindelof in at the last minute to do extensive rewrites on the final third of the project, after filming had wrapped, causing a delay on its release.
Paramount executive Marc Evans previously admitted drastic action was needed following a screening of the movie, which saw the entire room fall silent afterwards.
He previously said: “It was, like, Wow. The ending of our movie doesn’t work. I believed in that moment we needed to reshoot the movie.”

Michael Sleggs was ‘only coping through sense of humour’ before death

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Sleggs told how he was “only coping” by having a “sense of humour” in his final interview.
The ‘This Country’ star – best known for portraying Slugs in the BBC Three comedy series – passed away from heart failure aged 33 on Tuesday night (09.07.19), and he suffered a number of health issues throughout his life, including being diagnosed with congenital heart disease as a baby.
Speaking in his last-ever interview just weeks before his death, he told The Sun Online: “For a normal person, your blood oxygen level is around 99 per cent, for me, it’s 75 per cent.
“Everyone goes, ‘What? How are you still standing?’ But it’s been the same for 33 years.
“They’ve gone through every vein possible, it means I’ve got varicose veins everywhere and leg ulcers, which are horrible, open wounds where your shins don’t heal up for years and years.
“My mum has often sat and slept by my hospital bed throughout the years and sneaked in takeaway grub so I didn’t have endure hospital food.
“I only cope through a sense of humour. I don’t know how long I can keep jumping these hoops.”
Michael – who was put into palliative care last month – went through five open heart operations, leaving him with an enlarged and scarred heart, and he suffered two strokes aged eight.
He previously said: “They’ve been giving me the last rites all my life, saying: ‘I’ve got only two weeks.’ I doubt I’ve got another twenty years, but who knows? At the moment, I’ve no massive issues, problems come and go.
“I had cancer when I was 15, it was years ago. But I was born with congenital heart disease. I have a single-ventricle heart, instead of the two pumping chambers, I have only one working pumping chamber.”
Michael’s ‘This Country’ co-star Charlie Cooper paid tribute to the late actor yesterday (10.07.19), describing him as a “unique” talent.
He tweeted: “We are completely heartbroken. Michael was utterly unique. He was kind, he was caring, he was loving. One of the most considerate generous and gentle friends you could ever wish for and funny – f**k me he was funny.
“Despite everything that Michael had been through in his life, he was never bitter or self-pitying. He just brought pure joy to everything and everyone. Just being in his company made you happy to be alive.”

EastEnders’ Phil Mitchell to be left fighting for his life?

OHMYGOSSIP — EastEnders’ Phil Mitchell is to be left “fighting for his life” after a bust up with an Albert Square resident.
The Walford warrior – who is played by Steve McFadden – is set to find himself in a serious situation in upcoming scenes after getting into a violent scrape.
A BBC source told The Sun newspaper: “Things have been bubbling for a while with those keeping secrets from Phil.
“With him oblivious to it all and looking forward to becoming a father and grandfather again, life couldn’t be looking more perfect.
“But secrets never stay secret for long in Albert Square.
“As everything comes to a head, certain truths will be revealed, but others remain hidden – for now.”
While it’s not known who could fight Phil, there are a number of Walford residents keeping secrets from him, including Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) and Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean), who have been having an affair behind Phil’s back.
Sharon recently discovered she is pregnant, leaving Phil delighted, but it’s not yet known whether the baby is his or Keanu’s.
Keanu has also been busy impregnating Phil’s daughter Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) in recent weeks, which left Phil furious at first and he suggested she have an abortion.
However, she didn’t go through with it.
Phil has been involved in his fair share of scrapes since Steve joined the soap in 1990, including going up against Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) and brawling with his brother Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp), after Sharon cheated on Grant with Phil.

Katie McGlynn’s Corrie character ‘to lose cancer battle’

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie McGlynn’s ‘Coronation Street’ character is set to lose her cancer battle.
The 25-year-old star’s alter-ego Sinead Tinker has been battling cervical cancer for months, and the horrific disease is expected to take her character’s life in emotional scenes as the star departs the ITV soap.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper: “From her two rocky relationships to the mini-bus crash, she’s been in some of Corrie’s most captivating storylines.
“And producers will be sad to see Katie leave the soap, but she will make an unforgettable departure which is set to leave viewers in tears.”
Things appeared to be looking up for Sinead – who initially snubbed treatment to have her and husband Daniel Osbourne’s (Rob Mallard) son Bertie – after she eventually underwent some aggressive chemotherapy, but it doesn’t look likely to keep the cancer at bay.
In May, it was reported that Katie would be leaving the ITV soap, but ‘Corrie’ said at the time that the former ‘Waterloo Road’ star was “fully committed” to playing out the rest of her character’s cervical cancer storyline, and said the plot “still has a long way to go”.
A spokesperson said: “Katie is fully committed to playing out the extremely important storyline she is currently portraying on screen.
“This story still has a long way to go. Any speculation threatens to undermine the storyline for viewers.”
Katie admitted in January that her ‘Coronation Street’ future was “up in the air”.
She said at the time: “I’m contracted well into this year but it is up in the air. Although I have to wait and see what happens, I quite like not knowing.
“With the nature of my storyline, I guess it’s 50/50. Either way I’d be happy, though.”

Elma Pazar blasts Maura Higgins for making a move on Curtis Pritchard

OHMYGOSSIP — Elma Pazar has blasted her former ‘Love Island’ co-star Maura Higgins for “jumping in Amy’s bed before it was cold”, after she made a move on Curtis Pritchard just hours after his former flame Amy Hart had left the villa.
Amy, 26, decided to quit the ITV2 reality show earlier this week after an emotional few days which saw her half-boyfriend Curtis – whom she had been coupled with since the first week of the show – admit his head had been turned by newcomer Jourdan Riane, who has since been dumped from the programme.
Following her departure, fellow Islander Maura, 28, went and spoke to 23-year-old professional dancer Curtis and confessed to having a crush on him, before a steamy lapdance challenge on Wednesday’s (10.07.19) episode led to them sharing their first kiss.
But now, former contestant Elma – who entered the villa as a latecomer alongside Maura, but was later dumped from the show – has slammed her pal for being “unfair” to Amy by wasting no time in making a move on Curtis.
The 26-year-old eyelash technician said: “I do think had Maura not jumped into her bed before it was even cold it might have made the situation a little bit easier. If she waited a little bit – which she didn’t – she felt the need to say it pretty much the same day.
“I do think that was a little bit unfair, and I think it really impacted Amy’s stay and Amy’s decision.”
And Elma also praised Amy for removing herself from the situation by deciding to walk away from the villa.
Speaking to Daily Star Online, she added: “I’m proud of her you know, because in a situation like that when you can’t escape, the best thing to do is to remove yourself.”
Meanwhile, Amy recently insisted she doesn’t think Maura and Curtis will last, as she believes the Irish model is playing a game.
The air hostess said: “I don’t believe Maura liked Curtis. She was telling me to drop him. She took the mick out of the way he acted. I think she thought he was the best one left out of the single ones. She wants to be on the show for as long as possible and go the distance. They aren’t suited.”

Les Dennis super-fan wanted to name pub after ex-Corrie star

OHMYGOSSIP — A Les Dennis super-fan has been left devastated after claiming the star refused to give him permission to name his pub “Les Dennis Lounge”.
Jake Goldstein wanted to pay tribute to the ‘Family Fortunes’ host by naming his Brighton boozer after the 65-year-old star, but he says Les rejected his proposal, and the 28-year-old landlord now feels “let down” by the ex-‘Coronation Street’ actor.
He told The Argus newspaper: “Les Dennis let me down. Don’t get me wrong Les, I think you’re all right.
“I have followed you for years, your highs and lows, I feel like I was there with you, I feel like I understood you. But now Les, now I understand nothing.
“All I wanted was to open a lovely little bar in Brighton for all little Les Dennises in the world to play, but you had to ruin it, didn’t you, Les?
“When we called you up full of hope, ‘Can we open the Les Dennis Lounge, your name in lights Les,’ you seemed so into it.
“But then we got the call the next day, ‘My agent wouldn’t like it.’ Be your own man, Les. A whole pub in your honour, Les, but you turned it down, Les, you turned it down.”
However, Jake is still planning to put pictures of Les on the pub’s walls, alongside photos of other TV greats, and he has even created a cocktail in Les’ honour.
Following the Les name dejection, Jake has called the pub Cease And Desist.
As well as TV presenting and soap acting, Les has done some theatre work with The Royal Shakespeare Company, but recently admitted he suffered from “impostor syndrome” on his first day.
He said: “On the first day of rehearsals, impostor syndrome – I think we all suffer from it.
“I got there on that first day thinking before I went in, I’m the only one here who hasn’t done the big drama school thing, who hasn’t been trained.
“I’ve done all the variety and the game shows, and then the theatre, but I’m not trained and I’m going to be with all these Shakespearean actors.
“I walked in and the first person I saw was Caroline Quentin and she said ‘I’m really nervous, I haven’t been trained’, and I said ‘neither have I!’ She started off as a dancer, so that put me straight at ease. It’s a wonderful company to be part of.”

Amanda Holden’s poop problem

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Holden once pooed herself on a night out.
The 48-year-old star has opened up about being caught short one evening, and she could feel the premature poop in her underwear as she walked home.
She said: “I pooed myself, but I did have a funny tummy.
“But I did walk home and it felt like I had a small b*****k in my pants.
“Like a warm, pooey b*****k.
“The poo was the b*****k.”
Amanda’s boyfriend at the time wasn’t deterred by troublesome turd, and he came to the rescue by washing her soiled briefs.
Speaking on tonight’s (11.07.19), ‘Shopping With Keith Lemon’, she says: “And then my then-boyfriend – this is how much he loved me – went home and he rinsed my knickers.
“That’s love isn’t it? It’s deep love.”
But Amanda isn’t the only star to have been caught short.
Last year, Sharon Osbourne revealed she pooped in her garden – and blamed her dog for the dump when her gardener spotted the mess.
And, like Amanda, Sharon also blamed her doo-doo on a “bad tummy”.
She said: “Ozzy was in rehearsals, and it was about two in the morning.
“I get home and I don’t have the key and there was nobody there.
“I had got a really, really bad tummy, and you need to do something. And I was really, really sick.
“Anyway I had to go in the front garden. There were loads of trees and nobody could see a thing.”
After plopping out her poop, Sharon thought she was out of the woods only for the couple’s gardener to spot the splat – and the quick-thinking star told him one of their pet pooches had done their business, rather than admitting she was the mystery mess-maker.
She added: “However the next day the gardener came to me and said, ‘One of the dogs is very sick.’
“I said, ‘Did you clear it up?’ And he said, ‘Oh yeah,’ and I said, ‘Good.’ ”
‘Shopping With Keith Lemon’ airs tonight (11.07.19) at 10pm on ITV2.

Storm Reid joins Suicide Squad

OHMYGOSSIP — Storm Reid has joined James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’.
The 16-year-old actress is set to play Idris Elba’s on-screen daughter in the upcoming follow-up to the 2016 DC Comics ensemble movie ‘Suicide Squad’.
Elba, 46, will play a new character in the sequel, rather than replacing Will Smith as hitman character Deadshot as was first believed. This is so Smith, 50, can return to the DC Extended Universe in the future.
It is not yet known what DC Comics villain Idris will play instead, but it has been confirmed that Margot Robbie will be reprising her role as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney is back as Captain Boomerang and Joel Kinnaman will return as Rick Flag and Viola Davis is back as Amanda Walker.
WWE wrestler John Cena has also joined the cast alongside Daniela Melchior, who will play Ratcatcher.
In the original comics, Ratcatcher was a man, who was one of Batman’s enemies, but it has now been revealed that the part will be portrayed as woman with a connection to Elba’s character.
Meanwhile, producer Peter Safran previously teased that the new ‘Suicide Squad’ movie will be a “total reboot”.
Asked how excited fans should be about ‘Suicide Squad 2’, he explained: “First of all, we don’t call it ‘Suicide Squad 2’ because it’s a total reboot, so it’s ‘The Suicide Squad’ and I think people should be extremely excited about it.
“It’s everything you would hope from a James Gunn script and I think that says a lot and that promises a lot and I know that we will deliver a lot.”

The forthcoming film – from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions – will see the film’s director Craig Zobel reunite with Lindelof and Cuse after they collaborated on HBO’s ‘The Leftovers’.
Although the plot for the movie is yet to be released, it’s said ‘The Hunt’ will explore “escalating aggressiveness between the political right and left in America”.

Louis Walsh: Simon Cowell deserves a knighthood

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Walsh wants Simon Cowell to be knighted.
The 66-year-old star – who is excited to return to the ‘X Factor’ panel after being sacked in 2018 after 13 years as a judge – has insisted there are “no hard feelings” with the media mogul, and he heaped praise on Simon for the work he’s done in the music industry.
He told The Sun Online: “I was sacked and paid off. There’s no hard feelings. I had 13 years. I love Simon. Simon’s the best person in the world. I love working with him.
“I used to work with him everyday. The reason Westlife are here is because of Simon. He started this band. He gave us all the hits. He was an amazing A and R guy. Nobody better.
“I’m saying why isn’t he a Sir? I want him to be Sir Simon. We’re starting a campaign for a knighthood. He thinks he’s royalty already, so it’s fine.”
While Louis hasn’t been told who will competing on the upcoming celebrity version of the ITV talent show, he has seen the likes of Gemma Collins, Vinnie Jones and Megan McKenna have been rumoured.
He added: “I know Megan’s a great singer and we’ll get the best out of them. We’re gonna have great fun.”
The music manager is excited to be back on the panel with Nicole Scherzinger, and he’s still holding out hope for Sharon Osbourne to make a comeback.
He said: “I love Nicole. She’s the best judge I’ve ever worked with, and I do love Sharon Osborne an awful lot, but with Nicole she tries harder and she knows about music.
“She can sing, dance and perform. She looks good. She always wants to win. I love Sharon. The icing on the cake would be Sharon.
“Maybe she’ll come back for the All-Stars. There’s never a dull moment with Nicole, I adore her. She’s the best judge, but Sharon’s my favourite.”

Corrie’s Sam Robertson ‘set for big money contract’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Robertson is set to sign a new ‘Coronation Street’ deal.
The 33-year-old soap star – who has played Adam Barlow on and off for the last 15 years – is said to be ready to put pen to paper on a new big-money contract to keep him on the cobbles after taking more than two months sabbatical earlier this year.
A source told The Sun Online: “Sam spent time with his friends and family, which gave him time to realise how much he was enjoying being in ‘Corrie’, and since coming back he’s been a different man.
“He is really enjoying being given a more prominent role on the show, and is keen to sign on for another 12 months – which has been music to [boss] Iain MacLeod’s ears as he thinks Sam is brilliant.
“It sounds like it’s just a matter of dotting the Is and crossing the Ts.”
Sam is said to have come close to leaving the ITV show at the end of 2018, and he has previously opened up about overwhelming fan attention when he first joined the ITV soap.
Speaking last month, he said: “Going from being a student to being in a show watched by 10 million people was a bit of a culture shock. Being recognised really wasn’t something I’d taken to.
“Since then, I’ve done more acting work and I’ve matured. It’s something I’m fine with but back then I found it tough.”

Gemma Oaten shares tribute to Freddie Jones

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Oaten feels grateful for the “guidance and support” the late Freddie Jones gave her on ‘Emmerdale’.
The 35-year-old actress – who previously played Rachel Breckle on the show for five years until 2015 – has paid tribute to her former co-star after it was revealed the Sandy Thomas actor had sadly passed away on Tuesday (09.07.19) at the age of 91 following a short illness.
She wrote on Twitter: “RIP freddie Jones. I will never forget our time together on @Emmerdale you gave me so much guidance and support. Absolutely gutted. Look after Edna’s hat too xx (sic)”
Freddie enjoyed a 13-year stint on the ITV soap before leaving in 2018, and many of his former cast mates took to social media to pay their respects.
Katherine Dow Blyton (Harriet Finch) said: “Will be raising a glass or two tonight to the wonderful Freddie Jones. So lucky to have worked with this legend.
“A very special man. R.I.P Freddie… ‘If there’s another world, he lives in bliss; If there is none, he made the best of this.’ ”
Mark Charnock – who plays Marlon Dingle – admitted it was difficult to find the right words to do justice to Freddie.
He added: “Very hard to put into words what the remarkable Freddie Jones meant to us all. Was lucky enough to share a dressing room for over a decade.
“The laughs, wisdom, anecdotes, the blazing, wonderful personality, the enormous talent. Above all things, he was our lovely #Freddie (sic)”
The ITV soap’s official social media account also offered some kind words after the news of Freddie’s death.
They said in a statement: “Everyone at Emmerdale is deeply sad to hear about the death of one of the show’s most brilliant actors and favourite human beings, Freddie Jones. #Emmerdale (sic)”
Freddie – who also appeared in movies including ‘The Elephant Man’, ‘Dune’ and ‘Wild At Heart’, and 1992 TV series ‘On The Air’ – had three sons with wife Jennifer, including actor Toby Jones.
Freddie bowed out of his ‘Emmerdale’ role as Sandy in February 2018, but admitted afterwards that he wasn’t technically retiring because actors pass away rather than call it a day.
He said: “Actors don’t retire – they die. The story goes that Sir John Gielgud, at the age of 96, rang Maggie Smith and said in a deep depression, ‘They’ve forgotten me – they don’t know who I am any more.’
“He apparently added, ‘I’m seriously thinking about changing my agent.’ He then died, so – in some sense – he did.”

Mikey North was ‘quite drunk’ when he found out Corrie killer plot

OHMYGOSSIP — Mikey North found out his ‘Coronation Street’ character was going to be a killer when he was “quite drunk” at the work Christmas party.
The ‘Corrie’ star was shocked to discover Gary Windass was going to become the next bad boy on the ITV soap, and when he woke up the next day he wasn’t sure if he had heard the information correctly.
He said: “I found out at the Christmas party. Someone pulled me aside – I was quite drunk at the time – and I woke up the next day thinking, ‘Did I hear that right?’
“But I’ve always said I’d rather go in a blaze of glory, leaving bodies behind me, so I’m happy either way.
“If this does become Gary’s last hurrah, which I hope it doesn’t, then it’s a great story to be involved with.”
Mikey’s alter-ego has been responsible for the death of Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia), and has also bumped off evil loan shark Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) – but the actor himself nearly came a cropper while shooting a scene with Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow).
He said: “You don’t mess with Chris Gascoyne in scenes. Out of nowhere, he picked me up and threw me against the wall. We got a little bit shirty with each other in the scene.
“It was really good, it wasn’t acting. I was like: ‘Alright, mate, bring it on!’ My back’s not been right since but the scene looked good.”
Mikey’s two-year-old son Archie watches him on ‘Corrie’ now and again, but he sometimes mistakes Prince Harry for Gary.
He added to Metro newspaper: “Archie’s seen me a couple of times. He hits things and goes ‘Argh!’, which I think is quite fitting, really.
“He used to think I was Prince Harry! Then when Prince Harry came on TV, he said, ‘There’s Gary.’ ”
