Curtis Pritchard sent Maura Higgins ‘stunning’ message in 2018

OHMYGOSSIP — Curtis Pritchard sent Maura Higgins a message saying she was “stunning” last year.
The ‘Love Island’ star recently admitted he slid into his fellow Islander’s messages before the pair entered the villa, and it’s now been revealed he praised her appearance in a private Instagram DM.
The 23-year-old ballroom dancer sent the message back in November, but the 28-year-old model didn’t respond to his attempted advances.
A source close to him told The Sun newspaper: “Curtis was taken with Maura’s beauty so couldn’t resist sending her a cheeky message.
“He was embarrassed that she ignored him as he doesn’t often slide into girls’ DMs.
“He assumed she wasn’t interested. He loved ogling her sexy shots.”
However, the tables have now turned and Maura is the one pursuing Curtis in the villa, but she was denied the chance to couple up with him in last night’s (11.07.19) episode when newcomer Francesca Allen chose him before Maura got the chance.
Maura turned her attentions to Curtis recently after he dumped “half-girlfriend” Amy Hart following a four-week romance in the villa.
Curtis had a change of heart while the girls were away at second villa Casa Amor, and ditched Amy upon her return.
The air stewardess later quit the show after a tearful few days without the dancer.
With Francesca picking Curtis on last night’s recoupling, Maura decided to give new boy Chris Taylor a chance when faced with a decision of choosing him or her former flame Marvin Brooks, who she brought back from Casa Amor, resulting in Marvin being axed from the island.
Following his exit, he said: “It was definitely a lot longer than I expected! In terms of finding someone romantically, I found it difficult but in terms of friendship, I had a brilliant time! It was unbelievable.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Schaal has joined the cast of ‘Bill & Ted Face the Music’.

‘Face the Music’ will see Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves return to their respective titular alter egos Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan, who in the two previous movies – 1989’s ‘Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure’, and 1991’s ‘Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey’ – were metalhead slackers who travel through time.
The third instalment picks up in the future when both Bill and Ted have wives – played by Erinn Hayes and Jayma Mays – as well as each having a daughter, Thea Preston and Billie Logan, who will be played by Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine respectively.

Dave Bautista: Stuber tackles toxic masculinity

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista says ‘Stuber’ offers up a “constant discussion” about toxic masculinity.
The 50-year-old wrestler turned actor is set to star alongside Kumail Nanjiani in the upcoming two-hander comedy, and has said that whilst the film works hard to make audiences “laugh”, there’s an underlying strong message about the dangers of toxic masculinity.
He said: “Throughout the film, we’re constantly talking about it. Sometimes you don’t realise it because we’re making you laugh or disguising it with action, but we really do have the discussion throughout the film.”
And his co-star Kumail – who plays a straightlaced Uber driver alongside Dave’s rogue cop character – added that it was important for them to talk about “dude issues” in the movie, because the way masculinity has been “traditionally defined” is causing “problems for everyone”.
Speaking in a joint interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said: “I feel like we’re in a time where we can talk about masculinity and how it’s always been very traditionally defined in a narrow way and how that’s led to problems for everyone – for women and for men. I felt like it would be interesting to try to talk about that stuff in a traditionally very masculine genre. A buddy cop action comedy is such a dude movie, so we thought it would be interesting to talk about dude issues that also affect the whole world, in a traditionally male genre.”
Meanwhile, Dave recently said the movie is a “huge deal” for him as he feels smaller movies are “hit and miss” and thinks its success lies entirely on how it does commercially.
He said: “That’s the scary part, it’s my first studio lead which is a huge deal for me and it’s a great movie I’m really proud of the movie.
“The thing is small movies like this are hit and miss because people don’t turn up to see it they wait for the big Marvel films.
“It costs a lot to go see a movie now and everybody gauges everything on box office drop so if we don’t crush it – hopefully that won’t destroy me as a lead but I’m really hoping we will crush it.”

Tony Blackburn set for Coronation Street cameo?

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Blackburn has always dreamed of having a ‘Coronation Street’ cameo.
The legendary radio DJ has his heart set on shooting some scenes in the ITV soap’s famous fictional pub, the Rovers Return, and Radio 2 DJ Craig Charles – who played Lloyd Mullaney on the show from 2005 to 2015 – is hoping to help Tony achieve his lifelong dream.
Speaking to stand-in host Craig on BBC Radio 2’s ‘Steve Wright in the Afternoon’ show, Tony said: ”It’s always been my ambition, I keep on saying it, I’ve always wanted to have a bit role in ‘Coronation Street’.
“I would just love to go into the Rovers Return, just sit there, have a pint in the background and not say anything. But just be a part of it.”
The soap has been running since 1960 and has aired close to 10,000 episodes, all of which super-fan Tony has claimed to have seen.
He said: “I’ve watched every single ‘Coronation Street’ since it started.
“When I went on holiday recently I was 18 episodes behind and I put a whole day aside to watch them all. I watched 18 and I finished around about 7.15pm and I thought, ‘Oh my goodness, there are two more coming on.’ So I watched those.
“I must be one of the few people to have watched 20 episodes of ‘Coronation Street’ back-to-back and enjoyed every one.”
Craig has offered to help Tony step onto the cobbles.
He said: “I’m going to have to see if I can make a few phone calls and make your dream come true.
“Get you in the cab office. Just come to the cab office and order a cab.”

Professor Green to appear on My Famous Babysitter

OHMYGOSSIP — Professor Green is “excited” to take part in ‘My Famous Babysitter’.
The 35-year-old rapper has been announced for W’s upcoming show which will see a celebrity line-up – also featuring broadcaster Anita Rani and reality star Georgia Toffolo – each take full parental responsibility for a family of at least three children in a programme exploring the 21st century challenges for families in the UK.
Green said: “I’m excited to be part of this smart and uplifting new series that explores the demands of modern parenting.”
Anita, 41, admitted she is hoping she has a good relationship with the children in her family while she revealed she is “up for the challenge”.
She added: “I am really looking forward to taking part in ‘My Famous Babysitter’. I don’t know what kind of children I will be looking after but I’m up for the challenge and experience. I hope the kids like me!”
And while former ‘Made In Chelsea’ star Georgia, 24, is “slightly nervous” about the show, she is still grateful for the “really unique opportunity”.
She said: “‘My Famous Babysitter’ is a really unique opportunity to look after someone else’s children and to learn about the challenges of modern parenting. I’m slightly nervous but I know it will be a great experience and one that I’m really looking forward to!”
The trio of stars join ‘Countdown’ presenter Rachel Riley – who was announced earlier this year – to complete the celebrity lineup for the show ahead of its broadcast later this year.
Adam Collings, channel director for W, previously said: “We’re hugely excited to be working with Rachel Riley as one of the stars of this fresh new parenting format, and we’ve got a brilliant line up for the rest of the series for W viewers to enjoy.”

Jack Farthing takes Poldark memento

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Poldark’ star Jack Farthing has taken one of his character’s outfits as a memento from the TV show.
The 33-year-old actor plays scheming George Warleggan in the period drama and ahead of the fifth and, for now, final series of the BBC One programme returning to screens at 9pm on Sunday night (14.07.19) he convinced bosses to let him keep an elaborate costume.
In an interview with Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on ‘This Morning’ on Friday (12.07.19), he said: “I did, for no good reason really, manage to persuade them to give me this full black tailcoat suit, which I’ll never wear.”
Holly then suggested when Jack might be able to wear George’s elaborate outfit, saying: “Christmas Day? Why not? It’s quite Christmassy.”
There is little for George to celebrate in the final series as his wife Elizabeth (Heida Reed) died from complications in child birth after she induced labour to deliver her daughter Ursula to prove it was George’s child and not Ross Poldark’s (Aidan Turner).
Jack admits it felt very strange to say goodbye to the show – which is based on the novels of the same name by Winston Graham – as it has had such a huge impact on his career and life.
He said: “I miss it already. It’s weird talking about it as the final series. It’s been an amazing five years for all of us.”
Jack might be saying farewell to Cornwall and his alter ego George, but by a strange quirk he has just been working with his ‘Poldark’ co-star Eleanor Tomlinson – who plays Demelza Poldark – on another project.
He said: “We did. We just finished a film. By total coincidence, we did a Netflix comedy in Rome. The film ‘Love, Wedding, Repeat’ stars Eleanor, Sam Claflin and Olivia Munn, and follows three different versions of the same wedding day.”

Paddy McGuinness under doctor’s orders to masturbate

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness has been told to masturbate 50 times by his doctor.
The ‘Top Gear’ host – who has two-year-old daughter Felicity and five-year-old twins Leo and Penelope with 31-year-old wife Christine – underwent a vasectomy last month, and he revealed he was under strict orders to have plenty of alone time over “a couple of months” to make sure he is sperm free following the procedure.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’, Paddy explained: “I had the vasectomy. Any gentlemen who are thinking about it, the thing about a vasectomy – what they don’t tell you – is when you have it done, the doctor says you’ve got to… we’re on daytime TV!
“You’ve got to ‘be by yourself’ 50 times. So, lads, you have a license to it! It’s the doctors orders – you’ve got a couple of months to do it – so you don’t have to sneak off to do it anymore!”
A vasectomy is a surgical procedure for male sterilisation or permanent contraception, to prevent pregnancy, and is usually carried out under local anaesthetic.
The 45-year-old star joked being given the task by the doctor meant it wasn’t as enjoyable as it might otherwise have been.
He laughed: “The thing is, because the doctor tells you to do it, it’s took the fun out of it because now I feel like I’m doing it on prescription!”
Paddy has been open about the process, and he previously told his Instagram followers that the operation was “a doddle”.
He said at the time: “I’ve gotta tell you, gentleman if you’re thinking of having a vasectomy and you’re a bit reluctant as I was, the initial anaesthetic, what they give you in the old pippins … I’m not going to lie, that’s tender, oh that’s tender.
“That made my eyes water, but after that, honestly, it’s a doddle. I’m currently resting up at home with a towel full of ice on the nickedy nackedy noos. Just icing them up, but I’ll keep you up to speed.”

Francesca Allen brands Maura Higgins ‘disrespectful’

OHMYGOSSIP — Francesca Allen thinks Maura Higgins is “disrespectful”.
The 23-year-old beauty paired up with Curtis Pritchard during Thursday night’s (11.07.19) recoupling, but she isn’t happy on this evening’s episode when it becomes clear Maura isn’t ready to give up on the 23-year-old dancer just yet.
After she gives him a massage earlier in the day, Francesca says in the Beach Hut: “I did find it a little disrespectful. I find that quite full on.”
Maura – who is paired up with new arrival Chris Taylor – isn’t happy with the way things panned out, and things heat up when Curtis reveals he’s still interesting in exploring a romantic connection with her.
As he raises a glass to toast her, she jokes: “[Cheers] to what? Sneaking out on the day bed tonight, when everyone’s gone to sleep?”
Referring to Francesca, she adds: “She’s never going to make you laugh the way I do.”
It’s clear Curtis is torn between both girls, and while he doesn’t “want to rush” his decision, he realises he can’t keep stringing both of them along.
Speaking with Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague on the sun check, he says: “I don’t want to rush it but I know I need to get a move on because I’ll push them both away. I wish one of them was horrible, it would make the decision so much easier.”
Meanwhile, Francesca seems to think it’s a pretty easy choice because of their “similar” characters.
She explains in the Beach Hut: “I do think our personalities are really similar. I haven’t really found someone before that is as positive and silly and giggly as me.”
It remains to be seen who Curtis will choose to pursue a romantic connection with.
‘Love Island’ airs tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and ITV2.

Jamie Lomas is single

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lomas is single again.
The 44-year-old actor split from his girlfriend Portia Hughes – who is 18 years younger than him – earlier this year after going public with their relationship last summer.
A source told The Sun Online: “Jamie was completely smitten with Portia and they grew very close, very quickly. He can be quite private but was happy to go to events with her – his friends were even predicting they might get engaged.
“Unfortunately it was all a bit of whirlwind and they just couldn’t go the distance. They split amicably and she’s already moved on while he’s thrown himself into work.”
And it didn’t take Portia – who works on the set of ‘Hollyoaks’ – long to move on as she’s already found a new boyfriend in property manager Paddy Kennedy.
She proudly flaunted her new man on her Instagram account last month when she shared a photograph of them together and admitted their romance was “unexpected.”
Jamie – who played Warren Fox on ‘Hollyoaks’ until earlier this year – has been trying to take his mind off the break up by throwing himself into work and has been busy filming a feature-length film alongside Amanda Clapham in Southampton.
Jamie was previously married to ‘Coronation Street’ actress Kym Marsh from 2012 until 2014 and they have eight-year-old daughter Polly together.
The pair also had a son called Archie together but he sadly died just minutes after he was born 18 weeks prematurely in 2009.
Kym, 43, said previously: “It’s a wound that will never heal. There will always be an Archie shaped hole in our lives. Losing a child takes you to a very dark place and you go through many different emotions – grief, denial, anger, the feeling of being alone and guilt for not bringing your baby safely into the world.
“It’s not something you get over, but you have to come to terms with it, accept what’s happened as part of the healing process. Once you’ve accepted that horrible thing has happened to you, only then can you start to move forward and rebuild your life.”
Jamie also has a 13-year-old son called Billy with his ex-girlfriend Haley Lever.

Fiona Wade’s ‘difficult’ Emmerdale storyline

OHMYGOSSIP — Fiona Wade found it “very difficult” to get into the headspace of her ‘Emmerdale’ character having “pregorexia” – because she “eats all the time”.
The 40-year-old actress’ alter-ego Priya Sharma admits it was tough to understand the condition – where women try to control their pregnancy weight gain through exercise and extreme dieting – because she has grown up watching her mum “eat everything”.
She said: “I’m from a Filipino family, so food is very much – it’s social. It’s what we do. We eat all the time. My mum is constantly cooking.
“For me, being a child, I saw my mum eat everything and I ate what they ate, so it was very difficult for me in terms of getting my head into a different space.
“Now that I understand it more, I see how these things can derive from anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, stress.”
In this week’s ‘Emmerdale’, Priya will find it tough to get through a meal at Home Farm as her character’s pregorexia plot, which first emerged in 2014 when Priya was expecting Amba, is revisited.
And Fiona admits she has “so much compassion” for people who are suffering from the condition since she has researched it for the soap.
She said: “Back in 2014, I didn’t know much about anorexia, really. And I definitely hadn’t heard of pregorexia, which is what Priya developed.
“I had a very healthy relationship with food growing up, and recognising that anorexia is a mental illness and it’s serious and so sad, I have so much compassion for it now.”
What’s more, Fiona admits he keeps the condition in the back of her mind while playing out Priya’s other plots.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’, she added: “Even when my character is doing other storylines, it’s in the back of my head and the writers.
“With any mental illness, you have to keep working on these things so it’s an ongoing process.”

Amanda Clapham joins Stardust musical

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Clapham has joined the cast of musical ‘Stardust’.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star – who played Holly Cunningham for five years on the Channel 4 soap – is delighted to have landed the role of Delante in Shahid Iqbal Khan and Samir Bhamra’s production.
She wrote on Twitter: “Very excited to be back on stage and to work with you Samir @phizzical & the team! #theatre #musical #thriller (sic)”
Samir replied: “We are very excited to be working with you too!”
Robby Khela has written the pop and R&B songs for the musical and he will also portray main character Amar in the project, which is said to be the first South Asian theatre production to feature same-sex marriage.
The musical will also delve into issues such as the #MeToo movement, patriarchy, and toxic masculinity.
Christoph L. Dorocant will play music mogul Cyrus Singhania, Sophie Kandola will portray Amor, and Harriette Mullen, Nataylia Roni and Aizaac Sidhu will also feature.
News of Amanda’s musical role comes after she and Sophie Porley departed ‘Hollyoaks’ on the same day when their respective characters Holly and Ellie Nightingale left the village to travel the word in September.
Amanda later returned for one episode in January when Holly called Zack Loveday (Duayne Boachie) at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris to declare her love for him, and he left the village for the French capital.
Following her September exit from ‘Hollyoaks’, Amanda admitted it had been a “pleasure” to play Holly for five years.

Amy Hart quits Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Hart has quit ‘Love Island’.
The 27-year-old air hostess has departed the villa after being left “broken-hearted” by “half-boyfriend” Curtis Pritchard, who called time on their romance after he pursued Jourdan Riane while the girls were at second villa Casa Amor, and he couldn’t guaranteed his head wouldn’t be turned again.
A source close to Amy told The Sun Online: “It was Amy’s decision to walk from the villa as she felt she had gotten as much as she could from the experience.
“She fell in love, had her heart broken and couldn’t stand the thought of seeing Curtis crack on with other girls while under the same roof as her.
“She was given therapy and support from the producers at ITV and they felt she was emotionally sound enough to make her own decision. They would never dream of keeping someone in there if they weren’t happy about it.”
A show source added: “Amy has decided to leave the villa after she didn’t find love with Curtis.
“She is a strong woman who knows her own mind and the show has given her the confidence to give finding love on the outside a go.”
This comes as Amy fumes at Maura Higgins in tonight’s (08.07.19) episode for persuading her to dump Curtis – as the model prepares to “swoop in” on the single ballroom dancer.
Amy accuses 28-year-old Maura of intentionally encouraging her to ditch Curtis after she urged Amy not to give him a second chance when he pursued Jourdan – but the Irish beauty insists Amy is “very wrong”.
Speaking to Amy, Maura says: “From day one, I said that he [Curtis] would have been one of the guys I would have gone for. I do fancy him. I’m an honest person, I can’t hold back, so I did tell him that I liked him.”
Amy replies: “But not honest enough to come and tell me first that you were going to do it?”
Maura then says: “When I came in here, I felt that out of all the girls here, you were the one that wouldn’t let me in.”
Amy replies: “A lot of stuff makes sense to me now. You were one of the most vocal that he didn’t deserve a second chance.”
Maura says: “If you honestly think that I’ve done that to swoop in, you’re very wrong.”
Elsewhere in tonight’s episode, boxer Tommy Fury asks social media influencer Molly-Mae Hague to be his girlfriend by attaching a note to her cuddly toy Ellie-Belly.
While on the terrace, Molly-Mae reads the note attached to Ellie-Belly, which says: “Dear Mummy, Daddy left me here in his best interests. He wanted me to tell you that you’re his everything. I’m going to leave it with Daddy. So…”
Tommy then says to Molly-Mae: “On a serious note, you know how much you mean to me and you’re the only girl for me. I only want to be with you. Therefore, I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend?”

Danny Williams and Jourdan Rian leaves the Love Island villa

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Williams and Jourdan Rian have been booted from the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The couple lost a public vote and were kicked out of the ITV2 show, after finding themselves in the bottom three with Curtis Pritchard and Amy Hart and Lucie Donlan and George Rains.
Jourdan said: “I’m glad I can leave with Danny. I’d be crying on the floor if I left on my own.”
Whilst Danny added: “The overall feeling is grateful because I met Jourdan.”
Michael Griffiths was gutted to see his friend Danny leave.
In a frank chat in the Beach Hut, he admitted: “It’s never easy seeing people go, especially ones who you’re close to.”
Whilst Jordan Hames said of Danny: “I lost a boy today. Everyone’s got that one boy who’s on the same flex. We used to do everything together. It’s so difficult.”
And Joanna Chimonides was tearful as she spoke of how much she would miss Jourdan.
She said: “I’m gutted. I really am. She’s helped me out a lot here. I keep crying. She’s helped me a lot and I can’t thank her enough.”
Following the dumping, the remaining islanders were told they must decide who stays or goes between Curtis and Amy or George and Lucie.
However, it has since emerged that Amy has left the villa after getting her heartbroken by Curtis.
A source close to Amy said: “It was Amy’s decision to walk from the villa as she felt she had gotten as much as she could from the experience. She fell in love, had her heart broken and couldn’t stand the thought of seeing Curtis crack on with other girls while under the same roof as her. She was given therapy and support from the producers at ITV and they felt she was emotionally sound enough to make her own decision. And a show source added: “Amy has decided to leave the villa after she didn’t find love with Curtis. She is a strong woman who knows her own mind and the show has given her the confidence to give finding love on the outside a go.”

Francis Boulle splits from girlfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — Francis Boulle has split from his girlfriend Katy Reece.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star and the actress – who appeared in ‘Holby City’ in 2016 – have parted ways after just over two years together.
Francis – who has been on the E4 reality show since the first series in 2011 – revealed the news of their break-up on his own ‘Private Parts’ podcast and admitted it’s been difficult getting used to the “adjustment” in his life.
He said: “It is with great sadness that I must report that Katy and I have regrettably parted ways.
“Break-ups are just the most awful thing and it’s been quite an adjustment.
“Fortunately we have both had lots to keep our minds busy and distracted.”
The 30-year-old millionaire previously dated ‘Harry Potter’ star Emma Watson, 29, in 2008 and former co-star Sophia Sassoon between 2012 and 2013.
Francis previously admitted things didn’t work out between him and the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ star because he didn’t want her fame to get in the way of his own “notoriety”.
Speaking of his relationship with Emma, he said: “We had a bit of a thing a while back.
“But I have always been an ambitious person and I want to achieve my own notoriety for what I’ve done.
“That’s why I chose not to pursue it any longer, because I didn’t want to be the boyfriend of some child actress.”
The reality star added that they bump into one another every now and then as they socialise in the same circles.
He added: “But we do share a lot of mutual friends and our paths cross from time to time.”

Amy Hart’s dad ‘stopped watching Love Island’ over Curtis Pritchard drama

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Hart’s father reportedly stopped watching ‘Love Island’ because of his daughter’s heartbreak.
Funeral director Ian is said to have stopped tuning into the ITV2 dating show because it was “too painful” to see Amy – who quit the programme this week – get hurt by Curtis Pritchard.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Ian’s a normal father who finds it concerning to watch his daughter go through the rigours of ‘Love Island’.
“He can’t bear to read all the upsetting opinions on the internet about her. He has taken down his Facebook account and now refuses to watch the show.
“Any father would find this sort of thing very tough to watch while powerless to intervene.”
Air hostess Amy, 27, has left the villa after she was left “brokenhearted” by “half-boyfriend” Curtis Pritchard, who called time on their romance after he pursued Jourdan Riane while the girls were at second villa Casa Amor, and he couldn’t guarantee his head wouldn’t be turned again.
A source previously said: “It was Amy’s decision to walk from the villa as she felt she had gotten as much as she could from the experience.

“She was given therapy and support from the producers at ITV and they felt she was emotionally sound enough to make her own decision. They would never dream of keeping someone in there if they weren’t happy about it.”
Ian and his wife Sue had previously backed Amy’s decision to appear on ‘Love Island’.
He explained: “You can’t suppress your kids ambitions can you, because I don’t want her to get to 40 and think ‘My dad wouldn’t let me go on TV when I was 26’. We’re only here once and we’re not coming back.”

Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron returning for Fast and Furious 9

OHMYGOSSIP — Vin Diesel has confirmed Dame Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron are returning for ‘Fast & Furious 9’.
The 51-year-old actor – who portrays Dominic Toretto – revealed in a video from the set of the next instalment of the blockbuster action franchise that the pair will reprise their respective roles as Magdalene Shaw, the mother of Deckard and Owen Shaw (Jason Statham and Luke Evans), and cyber terrorist Cipher.
He said in the Instagram clip: “Week three. Fast 9. Here on set. We’ve got a lot of the original cast here, including Oscar winners like Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren.
“Uh … a few new surprises, including John Cena, who I believe is going to completely shine in this movie.”
Both actresses first appeared in 2017’s ‘Fate of the Furious’.
The news of their return comes after Finn Cole, Anna Sawai and Vinnie Bennett joined the cast in unknown roles.
Nathalie Emmanuel, who joined as hacker Ramsey in the seventh movie, took to Twitter in June to announce shooting was underway and tease returning cast members in emoji form.
She tweeted: “Day one of shooting Fast and Furious 9 today… The team is back together.”
The first emoji was Vin Diesel (Dom), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty), Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce), Jordana Brewster (Mia) and as the final two have laptops they are believed to be Nathalie and Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges’ (Tej).
Vin also shared a video from the set with Michelle on his Instagram and admitted it felt like a “miracle” completing their first day.
He said: “Wow. Can you believe it, Letty? Can you believe it? We just completed our first day and it feels like a miracle.”
He added in the caption: “First day completed! Blessed beyond words. #Fast9 2020 (sic)”
Earlier this month, it was revealed that John had joined the cast in an unknown role that is believed to be a “bada**”.
The WWE star confirmed the news himself in a Tweet which read: “For nearly 20 years, the Fast Franchise has entertained fans and created some of the biggest cinematic moments in history. It’s an incredible honour to join this franchise and this family. (sic)”
‘Fast and Furious 9’ has a May 2020 release and has been written by Dan Casey and is being directed by Justin Lin, who is back in the director’s chair on the franchise for a fifth time.
Vin is producing through his One Race Films banner, and Justin will also produce through Perfect Storm Entertainment.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham will be sitting this instalment out, as they’re both busy filming a spin-off movie about their own characters, entitled ‘Hobbs and Shaw’.
