OHMYGOSSIP — Brendan Cole is reportedly teaming up with Jeremy Edwards for ‘Celebrity X Factor’.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro and his friend – who previously starred in ‘Hollyoaks’ and ‘Holby City’ – are set to form a boy band to take on the competition on Simon Cowell’s revamped version of the popular ITV singing contest.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Brendan has a huge fanbase from ‘Strictly’, and Jeremy has been on some of the biggest soaps in the country so they’re hopeful they will go far.
“Initially it started out as a bit of a novelty idea but they’re really enjoying it and have started to feel pretty optimistic about making a mark on the show.
“They’ve already filmed their first scenes, so there’s no going back – but ‘Strictly’ probably won’t be too impressed when they find out he has jumped on board with their biggest rival after all those years.”
‘Celebrity X Factor’, and an ‘All-Star X Factor’ featuring past contestants, are set to replace the usual series of ‘The X Factor’ this year, with rumoured names for the celebrity version including hardman Vinnie Jones, ‘TOWIE’ favourite Gemma Collins, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan from ‘The Chase’, and Glee’s Kevin McHale.
While the line-up is yet to be officially announced, James Arthur – who won the show in 2012 – previously admitted he would love to return on the panel.
He said: “I’d love to get involved but I wouldn’t want to be a contestant. I’m still signed to a record label so I don’t think it would be right for me to take part in that way, but I’d definitely be up for helping out in some way.”
And when asked if he’d judge the show, he added: “Yes I’d love to do that. If they want a really honest judge then I’d be more than happy to do it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Hart’s mum wants her to pursue fellow former ‘Love Island’ star Marvin Brooks.
The 27-year-old flight attendant left the ITV2 dating show of her own accord earlier this month after being left devastated when she was ditched by her “half-boyfriend” Curtis Pritchard, and she could now set her sights on ex-Islander Marvin – who was dumped from the villa last week – if she takes on her mum’s advice.
She said: “Mum thinks Marvin from ‘Love Island’.
“I’m too much for some people, and not enough for other people.”
Amy admits the list of qualities she would like from an ideal man has increased since she left the villa, and she took a swipe at Curtis by admitting she wants a guy who doesn’t just say “thanks” when she tells them how much she is into them.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, she added: “My list has got longer since going on ‘Love Island’.
“I’m looking for someone funny, kind, someone who I can trust. Someone who when I say, ‘You’re my absolute favourite person in the world,’ they don’t say, ‘Thanks.’
“They say, ‘And so are you.’ ”
But Amy could also turn her attentions to Curtis’ brother AJ Pritchard after their flirty appearance on spin-off show ‘Love Island: Aftersun’ on Sunday (14.07.19).
When asked by an audience member who out of the Islanders he would go for if he was on the programme, AJ said: “Amy looks gorgeous this evening, and I love her hair.”
The air stewardess then replied: “We could recreate team Pritchard.”
Also on the show, Amy admitted it was tough to see footage of Curtis trying to crack on with Jourdan Riane – who he attempted to get close to last month while Amy and the original villa girls were in second villa Casa Amor – for the first time.
She said: “My heart’s [beating]. I’ve been in such a good place and things like this throws me back a few paces.
“That’s why I had to leave when I did … I couldn’t sit there.”
Curtis has now hooked up with Maura Higgins in the villa.

OHMYGOSSIP — Austin Butler has been cast as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s forthcoming biopic about the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
The 27-year-old actor confirmed on Instagram that he is to portray the music icon in the forthcoming movie about his life, beating Harry Styles, Ansel Elgort, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Miles Teller, who were all screen tested for the role.
The ‘Zoey 101’ star shared an article about the casting along with the caption: “You have made my life complete, and I love you so” (sic)”
Speaking about his decision to choose Butler to portray Presley, Luhrmann told Variety: “I knew I couldn’t make this film if the casting wasn’t absolutely right, and we searched thoroughly for an actor with the ability to evoke the singular natural movement and vocal qualities of this peerless star, but also the inner vulnerability of the artist.
“Through a journey of extensive screen testing and music and performance workshops, I knew unequivocally that I had found someone who could embody the spirit of one of the world’s most iconic musical figures.”
Luhrmann will direct the movie and has penned the script along with Craig Pearce, and the filmmaker previously said he was keen to hire a relatively unknown actor to play the late ‘Hound Dog’ hitmaker – who died in 1977 aged 42 at his Graceland estate.
The director is keen to begin production on the project later this year.
Tom Hanks is currently on board to play Presley’s former manager Colonel Tom Parker who spotted Elvis’ talent in the early 1950s, initially helping him with bookings and promotion before becoming his manager.
He went on to arrange the music legend’s deal with RCA, and the singer’s first single with the label ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ set him on the path to super-stardom after it was released in January 1956.

OHMYGOSSIP — Brad Pitt and Emma Stone are being lined-up for roles in ‘Babylon’.
The 55-year-old actor is being considered to star alongside the 30-year-old actress in Damien Chazelle’s latest project which is being described as a “bold auteur piece” with a “significant budget”.
Chazelle – who Stone worked with on the Oscar-winning musical hit ‘La La Land’ – is set to helm the project and has written the screenplay.
According to Deadline, “several studios” want to buy the rights to the movie with Lionsgate considered the frontrunner to take on the project – which is said to be an original drama set in Hollywood “at a shifting moment when the business was turning from silents to talkies”.
Brad was last seen in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time In Hollywood’ which is set 1969 Los Angeles and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as television star Rick Dalton, Brad as his long-time stunt double and Margot Robbie as movie star Sharon Tate.
The director previously opened up about the film and insisted the piece was a “love letter” to the last moments of Hollywood’s golden age and he considers the story to be a “memory piece” about Los Angeles, the city where he grew up and that fuelled his passion for cinema.
Meanwhile, ‘The Favourite’ star will next be seen in the hotly anticipated ‘Zombieland: Doubletap’ – the sequel to the hit 2009 horror comedy ‘Zombieland’ – which is set for release in October this year.
The film will be set in a post-apocalyptic world which sees slayers facing new breeds of zombies, as well as encountering some fresh human survivors and will see Emma, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin all reprise their roles from the original movie.

OHMYGOSSIP — Niamh Blackshaw’s ‘Hollyoaks’ character will face repercussions for bullying Brooke Hathaway.
The 19-year-old actress’ alter-ego Juliet Quinn has become friends with Brooke – played by Talia Grant – but regularly plays mind games with her, recently manipulating her into missing a crucial exam last month.
Niamh has told Inside Soap magazine: “There’s going to be a climax with Juliet bullying Brooke, and you’ll see her lose a lot of her friends. But what she loses in one respect, she gains in another – she has a lot of love from her family, and she finds that she’s not alone anymore.”
The actress – who joined ‘Hollyoaks’ in November 2018 – explained that things will look up for Juliet as she “develops a sense of right and wrong”.
She said: “Juliet’s going to grow as a person, develop a sense of right and wrong, and learn from her mistakes. I think viewers will sympathise to an extent, although it’s like anything – you do something wrong and there will be repercussions.”
This bullying storyline has allowed Niamh to tackle her own experiences at the hands of a bully, and she says the plot has been “therapeutic”.
She said: “As someone who was bullied at school, it’s therapeutic in a way to flip it and play the bully. It’s also important to show the vulnerability of autistic girls as well, and it’s great that Talia gets that opportunity – and I just love working with her.”
Niamh is nominated for Best Newcomer at the upcoming Inside Soap Awards, as well as winning a nomination in the Best On-Screen Partnership category alongside Lysette Anthony, who plays Marnie Nightingale.
Niamh previously played tragic Lara Cutler on ‘Coronation Street’, a character who was preyed upon by Nathan Curtis’ grooming gang and ultimately took her own life while in the grip of depression.

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Tonioli has backed Adam Garcia for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ballroom judge has suggested the singer, actor and dancer – who was on the panel for the Australian version of the show six years ago – would be a fitting choice to replace departing star Dame Darcey Bussell.
He’s quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column as saying: “I’d like Adam to get the job. He’s a leading man, a theatrical leading man.”
Adam first became a star performing in stage show ‘Saturday Night Fever’, and he has also portrayed a lead role in 2000 movie ‘Coyote Ugly’.
He also has experience judging talent shows, having sat on the panel of Sky One’s ‘Got To Dance’ from 2009 and 2012 before returning two years later.
Bruno has insisted he wouldn’t want to take over as “head judge”, because the focus should be on “teamwork”.
He added: “I wouldn’t want to be head judge. It’s teamwork.
“You have to be all in it together, you can’t just be out there on your own. When you start going off on a tangent on your own, then it doesn’t work.”
His co-star Craig Revel Horwood – who features on the panel alongside Shirley Ballas – recently weighed in on who he believes bosses should be considering for the upcoming series.
He said: “They must have chosen by now but, no, I haven’t been consulted. I would have loved Nicole Scherzinger but she’s been snapped up [by ‘The X Factor’].
“As long as the new person has an opinion, that is the most important thing. And also can dance …
“The worst thing would be someone who sits there without an opinion. They have to be entertaining.”

The 36-year-old actress has hit out at sexism in the industry, revealing she has been undermined by men on set.
She told The Guardian newspaper: “I have experienced some right t**ts, as in men who treat men differently to how they treat me.
“[Like a male actor being asked if he is happy to start a scene] and I’m stood in the room at the same time. I’m like, ‘Yeah and I’m also happy to go.’
“It’s little things like that, which you might think are nothing, but you’re offending me by not asking me.”
Vicky insists she is “not trying to be difficult” by making sure her opinion is taken into consideration.
She added: “I am quite strong and to some people I might seem a little cocky, but if I’ve got an opinion I like it to be heard. That’s not me trying to be difficult.
“I’ve seen too many men walk into the room and go, ‘What’s happening?’ And then you do it as a woman and you feel like you’re being difficult.”
The 36-year-old actress has become a household name through hit BBC drama ‘Line of Duty’, but insisted she doesn’t want to take anything “for granted”.
She said: “I don’t want to feel that relaxed about things. I live in the real world and I don’t take things for granted.”
The ‘This Is England’ star previously explained she finds the auditioning process “daunting” and compared it to “re-interviewing for a job”.
She said: “I find them really daunting, I still do. I go for auditions now and it’s like re-interviewing for a job that you’ve been doing for so long.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The full cast of Zack Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead’ for Netflix has been announced.
A slew of stars – including ‘Power’ actor Omari Hardwick, ‘Whitney’ star Chris D’Elia and Hiroyuki Sanad of ‘Avengers Endgame’ – have been confirmed to join the upcoming thriller alongside Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi and Huma Qureshi.
‘Deadwood’ actor Garret Dillahunt and ‘Easy’ star Raúl Castillo are also among those joining the forthcoming film alongside Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Samantha Win and Rich Cetrone.
The plot will follow a young woman (Purnell) headed into a dangerous and quarantined Las Vegas where a zombie outbreak has happened in order to find what is causing the undead to rise up.
When she becomes trapped her father (Bautista) assembles a group of mercenaries to help rescue her, with the group “tempted by the chance to rob the casinos while they’re there”.
Snyder will also produce the project with his wife Deborah Snyder and he’s looking forward to the challenge.
The director previously said: “There are no handcuffs on me at all with this one.”
The movie is based on a script by Joby Harold, who previously penned ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’.
Netflix is renowned for giving filmmakers complete creative control, and Snyder is excited to be working with the streaming service.
He previously shared: “I love to honour canon and the works of art, but this is the opportunity to find a purely joyful way to express myself through a genre.”
The filmmaker is also keen to take some risks with the upcoming project, promising fans that ‘Army of the Dead’ will be a “kick-ass, self-aware” film.
He said: “It will be the most kick-ass, self-aware – but not in a wink-to-the-camera way – balls-to-the-wall zombie freak show that anyone has ever seen. No one’s ever let me completely loose [like this].”
The movie is scheduled to begin shooting this summer and will have a budget that could hit the $90 million mark.

OHMYGOSSIP — Caroline Flack sent James Jordan a private message to calm their public spat after they disagreed over ‘Love Island’ contestant Anna Vakili.
The pair became engulfed in a Twitter feud when the former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro described the 28-year-old Islander as a “nasty piece of work” earlier this month, but the ‘Love Island’ presenter shot to her defence, and James has now revealed Caroline spoke to him privately about the matter.
Speaking at the Celebrity Cup golf tournament at the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales – where he was representing Team England – he said: “You know what I am actually really good friends with Caroline. We have always got on.
“She actually DMd me and she said she loved me and I said, ‘I understand you are going to protect the people.’
“I have a lot of respect for her and we have got on for many years since she did ‘Strictly’.
“But I understand she’s got a duty of care to the Islanders.”
But he hasn’t changed his stance on the spat, insisting it is “a fact” that Anna “is nasty”.
Speaking to The Sun Online, he added: “It’s a fact Anna is nasty. It’s not a question, it’s a fact. What I put on Twitter is factual.”
James’ comments came after Anna clashed with fellow Islander Michael Griffiths earlier this month.
After watching the footage, the dancer tweeted: “Anna is one nasty piece of work
At least the mean girls don’t have so much power in the LoveIsland Villa anymore
IT’S CALLED KARMA BABY!!! It is what it is (sic)”
But Caroline replied: “She’s not nasty x

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Michael Griffiths will apologise to Amber Gill after he demanded she “sit down” before a chat.
Tonight’s episode (16.07.19) will see the firefighter try to make immense with Amber for “taking out his frustration” on her when he commanded she take a seat before he told her he wasn’t interested in rekindling their romance, following the departure of Joanna Chimonides on Monday’s episode (15.07.19).
Michael says: “When I came over and told you to sit down, it was because you had been wearing heels all night and I didn’t want you to walk anywhere else.
“I am apologising if it came across in a bad way.”
Amber replies: “I just think you really need to think about the way you speak to me, because it comes across really badly.
“I knew you before and you never spoke to me in a way that made me feel upset.”
Michael responds: “I don’t actually want to hurt you and I never have. Right now, it seems that I take all of my frustration out on you.”
The incident in question received 147 Ofcom complaints as well as sparking outrage online, with fans deeming Michael’s behaviour as “unacceptable”.
A spokesperson for the broadcasting watchdog told RadioTimes.com that the majority of complaints were “related to Michael’s behaviour”.
During the chat, Michael told Amber: “I am still ultimately in the same place where I want to get to know Joanna, I just wanted to be 100 per cent clear [with you].”
Following their exchange, Maura Higgins was shocked by his tone, asking their fellow islanders: “Did she just let him talk to her like that? Sit down? That was really rude.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Amber Gill will fume at Maura Higgins for “laughing” with Michael Griffiths in tonight’s episode (16.07.19).
The 21-year-old beauty wasn’t happy with her pals Maura and Anna Vakili for chatting to Michael after the firefighter demanded she “sit down” for a chat following the departure of Joanna Chimonides on Monday’s episode (15.07.19).
Speaking to Ovie Soko in the garden while Maura and Anna speak to Michael, Amber says: “Don’t come over and shout from over there to me to tell me to sit down like I’m a f***ing dog.”
Ovie replies: “You need to see who’s for you and who’s not for you.”
Amber responds: “But even people like Anna there sitting having a laugh with him.
“F**k those people that have just riled me up and that are just talking to them.”
Later on in the evening, Maura asks Amber how she is, to which Amber says: “Not great.
“Everybody riled me up and then nobody said anything to him and was sitting around the kitchen laughing with him.”
Maura argues: “No, I was with Curtis, so don’t blame me.”
Amber then tells her: “Just because you thought it was so disrespectful what he said, so it would have been nice for you to say that to him.”
Looking confused, Maura says: “What did you want me to do? Pull him aside and say, ‘Oh, blah, blah, blah?’ ”
Leaving the room, Amber responds: “I’ve had everybody’s back in here and I would expect the same from everybody else.”
Maura then mutters “wow” several times to herself as she takes off her make-up.

OHMYGOSSIP — Shelley King’s friends have started to question their own relationships after her “brutal” coercive control storyline kicked off on ‘Coronation Street’.
The cobbles favourite’s character Yasmeen Nazir has started to become controlled by partner Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) in certain scenes lately, and the 63-year-old star admits the hard-hitting plot has led to “so many” real-life couples analysing their own romances.
She said: “So many people, friends of mine, people I meet in the street, people who talk to me, have begun to question their own relationships.
“They’re not in a coercive relationship, but there is an element of control, because we all need approbation from our partners.”
Shelley admits she and Ian, who she calls Barty, get on “so well” in real life, and has warned fans to expect the tough storyline to become even more “mentally brutal” for Yasmeen in the coming weeks.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she added: “I think Ian and I have a great responsibility to talk to people and to create a believable, and understandable, truth-based storyline. And that’s what we’re doing.
“We can’t be scared of being unpopular as actors or anything like that.
“Barty is the nicest man. We get on so well, we have the humour of a 14-year-old boy and we will not give it back.
“We have to trust each other, because this story is going to get darker and darker and darker. And truthfully darker based on real stories the scriptwriters have heard and that we have heard.
“If we didn’t trust each other we wouldn’t be telling the story in an adequate way.
“What you see will become brutal, and not physically brutal, but mentally brutally, which is even worse in a way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenny Agutter wants the NHS to reach an agreement over life-changing cystic fibrosis drugs.
The ‘Call The Midwife’ star – whose niece Rachel McGrath and great-nephew Albie suffer from the debilitating genetic condition – has urged the UK government to step up talks with US drugs firm Vertex to find a breakthrough in their stalemate over the price of the treatment.
She told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I want a deal to be done for Orkambi, Symdeko and the rest of Vertex’s pipeline of corrector drugs now but understand how difficult this is.
“I have no doubt a deal will be struck and hope it will be sooner rather than later.
“The cost is high for these drugs but so are the costs of having someone in hospital as a result of lung damage from multiple, continuous infections, the cost of a lung transplant and inability to work and contribute to society.”
Jenny understands the company is wanting to “run a profitable business”, but she hopes a middle ground can be found.
She added: “It was really a shock [when Albie was diagnosed]. Georgie [Albie’s mother and Rachel’s sister], was taken aback. He seemed a very healthy boy.
“Caroline, my sister-in-law, was deeply upset because she had been through it all with Rachel.
“A cure for CF is possible in Albie’s lifetime, but it’s about having the money to find it. The medications being developed, the work going on to see if they can change the faulty gene, improvements in physio, are making a huge difference to the median age [of survival].”

OHMYGOSSIP — Leah Bracknell has written her “cancer manifesto” to motivate herself.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actress was given just months to live over two years ago, and now the 55-year-old star has opened up about her battle with lung cancer and her journey so far.
Speaking at an awareness festival this month, she’s quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: “I wrote The Cancer Rebel’s Manifesto for life as a reminder to myself what it takes to keep your head above water.
“To thrive, and to keep on keeping on while living with cancer and defying expectation every single day …
“Against the fear of cancer, against my prognosis, against pity from others and myself, against being diminished by cancer …
“Against being defined by cancer, against restricted by cancer, against being bullied by cancer, and against death.”
The soap star – who played Zoe Tate on the show – also addressed both the public and fellow cancer survivors, and she makes sure to “embrace life”.
She added: “I embrace the strength of my spirit. I embrace every opportunity that cancer gives me to learn, to grow, to expand, I embrace the glass half full, I embrace healing, I embrace laughter, I embrace joy, I embrace hope …
“And above all else I embrace life … for I am a cancer rebel with a fierce heart, an independent mind, a warrior spirit, and an ocean of desire to keep on keeping on and making a difference and making a noise as long as there is sweet breath in my body.”
Leah – who was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in October 2016 – recently said she wants the disease to be her “superpower”.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “So I was just thinking, if Greta Thunberg and Chris Packham consider their Aspergers and autism to be their superpower, to help them see and think outside the box, I’m just wondering if cancer could be MY superpower…

OHMYGOSSIP — Lakeith Stanfield is set to star in ‘Notes From a Young Black Chef’.
The 27-year-old actor – who is known for his role in 2017 horror hit ‘Get Out’ and starring as Darius Epps in FX comedy drama series ‘Atlanta’ – will lead the big screen adaptation of American-Nigerian chef Kwame Onwuachi’s memoir of the same name with A24 on board to fiance the project.
According to the book’s official synopsis: “Onwuachi’s love of food and cooking remained a constant throughout, even when he found the road to success riddled with potholes.
“A powerful, heartfelt, and shockingly honest story of chasing your dreams–even when they don’t turn out as you expected–Notes from a Young Black Chef is one man’s pursuit of his passions, despite the odds.”
There is no director yet attached to the project and Randy McKinnon will adapt the script from the memoir, which was penned by Onwuachi and Joshua David Stein.
The film will be produced by Stephen “Dr” Love while Stanfield and Colin Stark will executive produce.
Onwuachi grew up in The Bronx in New York City and at the age of 10 he was sent to live with his grandfather in Nigeria for two years.
After graduating high school, he dropped out of college and began working as head chef on a boat serving crews cleaning up the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
In 2010 he returned to New York where he began waiting tables before opening his own catering business, and then enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America in 2012.
Four years later, he opened his own Shaw Bijou eatery in Washington D.C., but it was closed down after just two months.
The following year, Onwuachi was hired to open a restaurant in the new InterContinental Hotel on D.C.’s Southwest Waterfront serving Afro-Caribbean cuisine influenced by his family ties to Louisiana, Jamaica, Trinidad, and Nigeria.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordan Peele wants to “make the scariest movie ever made”.
The acclaimed horror director – who is best known for 2017’s Academy Award-winning ‘Get Out’ and this year’s hit film ‘Us’ – teased that although he’s “yet to try” to make the “scariest movie ever made” he’s got plenty of ideas for a project which will completely “haunt” audiences.
In an interview with Empire magazine, he said: “I have yet to try and make the scariest movie ever made. I have some ideas. At some point you will see me offering into the world of something that will truly haunt. With a capital H.
“And that movie is gonna be the one I expect horror audiences to want to see, and the rest of the world to say ‘No I’m good.’
“There are some movies, like ‘The Exorcist’ or ‘The Shining’ ‘The Blair Witch Project’, ‘Paranormal Activity’ that are just chilling above all else. And I wanna make a movie like that too.”
The ‘Key & Peele’ star – who is also rebooting the 1990s horror franchise ‘Candyman’ – went on to explain that he’s seen some “really special” films recently and feels the horror genre is a good place to “show off an artistry and commitment to a cinematic experience”.
He said: “There have been some really special horror movies over the last five years, starting with David Robert Mitchell’s ‘It Follows’, Jennifer Kent’s ‘The Babadoook’ was a special movie for me.
“There are some really beautiful horror films that to me show off an artistry and commitment to a cinematic experience that other genres haven’t been able to match.”
