OHMYGOSSIP — Madeleine West feels like she is being paid to put on a “masterclass” when she portrays two characters on ‘Neighbours’.
The 38-year-olld actress stars as both Dee Bliss and Andrea Somers on the Channel 5 soap, which requires her to act out the same scenes but with a completely different character.
She said: “I’m basically doing twice the work of everyone else. Sadly not double the pay, but I’m not complaining because it was like doing a masterclass and being paid to do it! It was an absolute joy.
“They use a camera called the 4K which splits the screen and so you can’t overlap yourself. I have to play both characters, filming the same scene twice, looking in both directions and also with a body double.
“Then I have to change costume, change physicality and change voice and then play the other character, playing out the same scene all over again.”
Madeleine – who appeared in ‘Neighbours’ from 2000 to 2003, and re-joined in 2017 – spent hours researching how to stand and speak like the two different characters, and admitted she deliberately didn’t look back at old footage of Dee because she wanted to “rediscover” the character how she is now.
She added to What’s On TV magazine: “It took a lot of research to play both Andrea and Dee. Each has a different voice, different ways of standing and different intonations.
“Dee isn’t a carbon copy of that blushing bride she was 16 years ago when she supposedly died, she has lived as someone else all this time as Karen, and so she is a different person.
“I didn’t look back at old clips of Dee from when I played her before. I wanted to rediscover Dee as she is now, in the environment she has been in, then add on the fact that she is now much older, she is in her 30s now.
“I don’t want to mimic what she was like in her early 20s.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Bradbury has a “healthy attitude” towards nudity.
The ‘Countryfile’ presenter, mother of Zephyrus, seven, and four-year-old twin girls Xanthe and Zena, admits her kids see her “waking around naked all the time”, and she believes it is important to teach her children about body image.
Speaking about baring all in a naked photo for charity last year, she told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I think you need a healthy attitude towards nudity. My kids were proud of the image – they saw it. It doesn’t mean anything to them as they see me walking around naked all the time.
“They are far too young now to be talking about body image, but it does key into that in these early stages, and the, ‘What are the differences between boys and girls and men and women?’ It’s not something that bothers me.”
Julia describes herself as a “passionate” recycling campaigner.
She said: “I stand by that picture. The point is people were talking about it. I was lying on 750 bottles – that is the number that are dumped in England every single minute. Only a tiny percentage will be recycled.”
Julia, 48, also revealed she doesn’t buy her children plastic toys and she recently threw an environmentally-friendly party for her son Zephyrus.
She added: “Goody bags were made of recycled Indian newspapers, full of sustainable toys, recyclable plates and cups – no balloons, pizza in cardboard boxes and glass water bottles.”
The TV presenter stars alongside Sir Trevor McDonald in new ITV series ‘Britain’s National Treasures’, which counts down a public vote of the 20 most iconic structures and sites in Britain. Julia admits Sir Trevor didn’t respond well to a joke she made about his status as a national treasure, saying: “I did try to make some jokes about him being a national treasure, but he didn’t like it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Davies has urged ‘Love Island’ contestants to make long-term career plans.
The star – who won the ITV2 dating show alongside then-boyfriend Kem Cetinay in 2017 – admitted she was worried her time in the spotlight was up last year as ‘Love Island’ went on to create new stars but she is now feeling happy and secure after landing her dream role in the musical ‘9 to 5’.
And she hopes that the latest batch of islanders can find work that makes them happy, rather than relying on their 15 minutes of fame which the ITV2 show will bring.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Last year I was anxious watching ‘Love Island’ as there was another new batch of islanders coming out and I was worried about being old news.
“I used to crucify myself if somebody else had another job over me and you can’t live like that. But then I found musical theatre and I feel like I’m on my own path and my own journey.”
Amber went on to praise the importance of surrounding yourself with a strong support system and warned the new contestants that it will take time to find the perfect fit for them.
However, she insisted she doesn’t regret her time on ‘Love Island’.
Meanwhile, Amber’s career is going from strength to strength and along with starring as Judy Bernly in the West End musical ‘9 to 5’ – based on the 1980 film of the same name, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton – she is reportedly also set to compete in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Amber is starring in the stage show alongside Louise Redknapp, who plays Violet and Natalie McQueen, who plays Doralee, and the musical reportedly brought her to the attention of ‘Strictly’ producers.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyson Fury advised brother Tommy Fury against appearing on ‘Love Island’.
The 30-year-old boxer worried his 20-year-old brother might get “carried away being a reality TV star” rather than concentrate on his boxing, telling his sibling he might “mess up” his career if he joined the ITV2 dating show.
He said: “I thought, he’s a good looking lad. He might get carried away being a TV reality star rather than a fighting man – and it’s the last thing he needs to do when he’s trying to become a professional fighter.
“I said, ‘Nah, it won’t be a good idea that, you’ll mess up what you’re doing in your career. You’re on a roll, keep with boxing.’ ”
But Tyson now thinks it was a “good move” of Tommy’s to join the show, because more people will want to see him box.
Speaking on ‘The Lateish Show With Mo Gilligan, he adds: “He’s got more of a following than if he would’ve had 40 professional fights.
“So I think it’s a very good move. People will want to come and see him fight.”
Tommy is now the hot favourite to win the show alongside girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague after the pair got together on the programme.
The fighter attempted to couple up with Lucie Donlan at the start of the series, before Molly-Mae had entered the villa, but she chose Joe Garratt instead, only to then admit she had feelings for Tommy when it was too late.
After being dumped from the villa, Lucy recently said: “I would definitely want to go back into the villa! I was loving it. After Casa Amor, I got to know George [Rains] and that didn’t go how I thought it would and then I realised I liked Tommy [Fury].
“Although I liked him romantically, he was my best friend so it was nice to see your best friend so happy. At the same time, I was a bit gutted. I would love to go back in and just have fun with everyone.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Bracey has joined the cast of ‘Violet’.
The 30-year-old actor – who is best known for his roles in films such as ‘Monte Carlo’ and ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ – has landed a so far unknown role in Justine Bateman’s full-length directorial debut, based on her own script.
The movie will also see Olivia Munn and Justin Theroux reunite after they previously portrayed a married couple in 2017’s ‘The Lego Ninjago Movie’.
Olivia will appear as the titular character in the movie, playing a film executive who makes decisions based on what the voice in her head – played by Justin – tells her to do.
The project will also feature Anthony LaPaglia, who will play Olivia’s confidence-sapping boss in the upcoming comedy-drama film.
Bateman will also produce for her Section 5 label, along with Michael Jones while Cassian Elwes will executive produce and production on the movie is underway now.
Luke notably starred in 2016 thriller ‘Point Break’, as FBI Agent Johnny Utah which was originally made in 1991 and starred Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves – about a thrill-seeking group of surfers who are under investigation by the FBI.
The film’s A-list cast included Edgar Ramirez, Ray Winstone and Delroy Lindo and Edgar previously revealed that the co-stars became like “brothers” while shooting the film.
He said: “When I tell people about it, I get a huge sense of pride and excitement to these guys. They brought so much authenticity to the film and made us all proud … We all became brothers, among the actors and the athletes. They’re all our friends. It’s amazing. This world is extreme, but it’s not a macho culture.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Hans Zimmer turned down Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ so he could work on ‘Dune’.
The composer – who has worked with Nolan on several of his films including his Batman trilogy, ‘Inception’ and ‘Dunkirk’ – spurned Nolan’s latest film as he couldn’t turn down the chance to score Denis Villeneuve’s forthcoming sci-fi epic, making it the first time the pair haven’t worked together on one of Nolan’s movies since 2006’s ‘The Prestige’.
Swedish composer Ludwig Goransson will be scoring the secretive project instead.
In an interview with The Playlist, Zimmer said: “‘Dune’ is one of my favourite books from my teenage years, I love Denis, obviously, and Joe Walker, his editor. We did ’12 Years A Slave’ together and ‘Widows.’ We started working together in 1988 for the BBC together. It’s nice working with family.
“I have to do [‘Dune’], Chris understands I have to do it. He’s going to be just fine. Ludwig and I are friends. Forget the friend part, he’s really good.”
‘Dune’ tells the complex story of a fallen noble family’s attempt to control a desert planet named Arrakis and its export, a rare drug called melange – also known as “the spice” – which is vital to space travel and the most sought after commodity in the universe.
The all-star cast of the production also includes Timothee Chalamet as the lead character Paul Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem, whilst Jason Momoa has also been attached to the project.
Just as Zimmer turned down ‘Tenet’ to work on ‘Dune’ director Villeneuve snubbed the opportunity to helm ‘Bond 25’ to bring his passion project ‘Dune’ to the big screen.

OHMYGOSSIP — A ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ spin-off will feature the show’s professional dancers.
BBC bosses have decided to create a show dedicated only to the programme’s professionals – which include Anton Du Beke, Gorka Marquez, Oti Mabuse, Kevin Clifton and Karen Hauer – and it will air in September, one week before the live shows start.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “Previously, there has been a rather awkward two-week gap between the first and second episode. This will keep the momentum going, though the competition has yet to fully kick off.
“The BBC’s attitude is to make the most of the affection for many of the show’s now-famous dancers. After all, they make up a massive part of ‘Strictly’s popularity.”
The show will feature a number of ‘Strictly’s professional dancers looking back on their favourite moments from the past 15 years.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that McFly drummer Harry Judd – who won ‘Strictly’ in 2011 – is in talks to replace Dame Darcey Bussell on the judging panel.
A source previously said: “Strictly’ bosses are desperate to appeal to younger viewers, as they know that is the age group they need to build on.
“Last year that was behind the decision to sign up YouTuber Joe Sugg as a contestant. And Harry has millions of young fans thanks to McFly.
“He is popular, very charismatic and has experience of dancing both on ‘Strictly’ and in the West End, after appearing in ‘Rip it Up’.
“They know that he would also hit the right note with older audiences as he is very much a family man, he is a dad with two children. Talks are ongoing at the moment, but as it stands, Harry is a firm favourite.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Rainbow’ puppeteer Ronnie Le Drew has revealed the racy secrets behind the children’s TV show.
The classic show featured cuddly puppets Zippy, George and Bungle living together but Zippy’s handler Ronnie has admitted that when the cameras stopped rolling, the puppets enjoyed some saucy shenanigans which would have horrified their viewers.
In an extract from his new book, ‘Zippy And Me’, which has been published by The Sun newspaper, Ronnie writes: “Several times during rehearsals Zippy smuggled a large carrot under the covers that poked up at opportune moments, and he also became very prone to masturbating.
“George would be reprimanded by Bungle for wetting the bed or leaving skid marks on the sheets, and when Geoffrey spoke straight to the camera, George and Zippy would often start humping in the background.
“George and Zippy occasionally got up to the sort of thing adults do in bed. It was our way of entertaining the cameramen when we had a particularly light show. There were many times I caught myself watching Zippy and George copulating and thought to myself, ‘Oh, they are naughty’, before remembering that I was to blame.”
And Ronnie revealed that show star Jane Tucker also got involved, once performing a “kinky” rehearsal song while wearing a “shiny, tight, leather S&M outfit”.
He added: “It was obviously just a bit of fun, but from then on she was known on set as Miss Whiplash.
“Rehearsals became even more innuendo-laden whenever musical instruments were involved, with Jane asking Zippy if he fancied playing with her maracas.
“Or Zippy and George chatting about plucking each other’s ‘twangers’ — the homemade instruments formed from shoe boxes and rubber bands that we sometimes used in the show.”
‘Rainbow’ launched in 1972 and ran for 27 series before being cancelled in the 90s.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Stanley is concerned her fashion sense is becoming the same as her ‘EastEnders’ character’s after buying the same top as Karen Taylor.
The 43-year-old star was left shocked recently when she was handed a top for her character and realised she had bought the same one.
She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column as saying: “One of the tops they put me in as a costume the other day I’d just bought for myself, worryingly.”
In May, Lorraine admitted she would like to see some love drama for Karen with the introduction of her son Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) father.
Asked if the soap would ever bring in Keanu’s father, Lorraine said: “Yeah, I hope so. I think, at the moment, the Taylors have got enough on their plate. But I reckon that is probably, I’m guessing, in the pipeline.
“And Bernie’s dad as well. And Riley and Chatham’s dad! God, how many dads? They’re all different. Bernie’s dad is different. Chatham and Riley’s dad is different. And Keanu’s dad is different. Obviously Mitch is Chantelle and Keegan’s dad. Four fathers.”
Lorraine’s clothing concerns come after ‘Coronation Street’ star Beverley Callard recently admitted her character Liz McDonald’s “unforgiving” wardrobe used to make her feel “more self-conscious”.
She said: “I lacked confidence very much and I had very low self-esteem and the clothes I had to wear for Liz were very unforgiving.
“It was silly things like that which would make me feel more self-conscious and I think that could be a part of it but, of course, it is not the cause.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie has “never seen” a ‘Star Wars’ movie and is committed to snubbing the sci-fi franchise because it “infuriates people”.
The 29-year-old actress hasn’t seen any instalment in the soon-to-be nine-film franchise and she won’t change that fact because she now feels as though people expect her to watch the movies – which began in 1977 with George Lucas’ ‘Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope’.
Speaking to MTV News, she said: “I’ve never seen any ‘Star Wars’, I kind of don’t watch it now just because it infuriates people so much, like, ‘How? How have you never watched any ‘Star Wars’?’ And I just kinda wanna see how long I can make it now.”
Despite never having seen any of the films herself, the ‘Suicide Squad’ star has encountered numerous devout fans of the film series, committed to telling her what she is missing by not watching the films set in a galaxy far, far away.
It seems no one can sway Margot when it comes to ‘Star Wars’ as she has worked with actors who have appeared in the franchise.
In April, she wrapped shooting on DC Extended Universe film ‘Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)’ – in which she plays Harley Quinn again – alongside Ewan McGregor, who portrayed Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi in the three ‘Star Wars’ prequels.
Margot also starred in Winnie the Pooh movie ‘Christopher Robin’ with Domhnall Gleeson, who portrays General Hux in the new Disney ‘Star Wars’ trilogy.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘It Chapter Two’ director Andy Muschietti wants to remake ‘The Howling’.
The 45-year-old filmmaker appeared on a panel at San Diego Comic-Con alongside the cast of the film, which included James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan and James Ransone, where he revealed that he would love to recreate the 1981 hit horror film, based on the novel of the same name by Gary Brandner.
When a fan asked which horror films they think are too sacred to reboot, and which they would like to remake at New Line’s ScareDiego session at San Diego Comic-Con,
James said: “I assume to the chagrin of Stephen King that we should not remake ‘The Shining’.”
Jessica suggested: “Something like ‘Rosemary’s Baby’, something that comes from a director who is incredibly visionary, and they really told the story in their own way; I can’t imagine remaking.”
Other titles that were suggested as too sacred to reboot included John Carpenter’s ‘They Live’ and ‘Big Trouble in Little China’.
Moving on to which films they would like to remake, Andy told the crowd it would be the 1981 film ‘The Howling’ to which Bill replied: “If you remade ‘The Howling’, that would be rad.”
‘The Howling’ – directed by Joe Dante – is a cult classic of the werewolf genre and was one of three lycanthrope focused horror movies to be released in 1981, the others being ‘An American Werewolf in London’ and ‘Wolfen’ in what proved to be a vintage year for the monster.
‘It Chapter Two’ – based on Stephen King’s 1986 novel – is set for release this September and is set 27 years after the first instalment with grown-up versions of the Loser Club battling Pennywise the Dancing Clown one more time as the evil entity returns to terrorise the children of Derry, Maine.
‘Mama’ helmer Andy previously teased the upcoming film – which will see Chastain, McAvoy, Hader, Ransone and Andy Bean play the adult versions of Beverly, Bill, Richie, Eddie and Stan, respectively – will include “everything that people love” from the first film, but “cranked up” a notch.
He said: “I think that everything that people love from the first one, like the humour and the emotions and the horror, will all be there, and cranked up, in some cases.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Walters tried out for ‘Hollyoaks’ before landing a role in ‘EastEnders’.
‘Oaks’ star Adam Woodward – who plays Brody Hudson in the Channel 4 soap – has revealed the former ‘Benidorm’ actor could’ve ended up in the Chester village if things had been different after he spotted him at the auditions for his character and Damon Kinsella (Jacob Roberts).
Adam said: “I used to watch ‘EastEnders’ quite a bit.
“And Danny Walters, who plays Keanu, has really impressed me. I think that he’s a brilliant actor, and definitely one to watch.
“He was part of the auditions for Damon and Brody, so I got to meet him then, and I thought he was a really cool guy.”
Adam admitted he was “so happy” for Danny when he found out shortly afterwards that he had landed the role of Keanu Taylor in the BBC One soap.
He added to Inside Soap magazine: “A couple of weeks after that, it was announced that he was joining the ‘EastEnders’ cast playing Keanu, and I was so happy for him.”
Since joining ‘EastEnders’, Danny has had to act out some saucy scenes with Letitia Dean as their characters Keanu and Sharon Mitchell indulged in a steamy affair – but the 26-year-old star watched the intimate scenes alone because he didn’t want his parents or partner to “wind him up” about them.
He said: “I try to watch those alone – as it’s very awkward to watch with my parents or my partner.
“They know I’m playing a character, of course, but they also know not to wind me up because I don’t take it too well.
“I don’t always watch my stuff because I’m my biggest critic. However, I catch up when I can.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson has named her baby daughter Mia Louise Marquez.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star and her partner Gorka Marquez welcomed their little girl into the world on July 4 and have finally revealed the sweet moniker they’ve chosen for her.
Taking to her Instagram account on Tuesday (16.07.19), the 34-year-old actress uploaded a photograph of her little girl – the first she’s shared with her fans since her birth – sound asleep in a pink knitted cardigan and captioned it: “Mia Louise Marquez.”
Gemma – who met Gorka when she was competing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2017 – announced that Mia had made her arrival two days after the tot was both.
The 28-year-old professional dancer said: “And just like that, we’re a three! Our beautiful baby daughter arrived on Thursday 4th July and myself and Gorks couldn’t be happier … Shes incredible and she certainly made an entrance, giving us all quite a fright at times! Little Miss independent already! Thank you SO much to the nurses & doctors at The Royal Bolton Hospital who did the most incredible job taking care of myself and my baby. You’re all so wonderful and I’m so grateful to have had you all with me and to have been under your care these past 4 days … Back home now for family time and to introduce little lady to her big brothers Norman & Ollie…. Let the next life chapter begin @gorka_marquez (sic)” Gorka paid tribute to Gemma, branding her his “absolute hero”.
In a similar post on his own page, he wrote: “Our beautiful baby daughter arrived on Thursday 4th July and myself and Gem couldn’t be happier … She’s incredible and she certainly made an entrance, giving us all quite a fright at times … @glouiseatkinson my absolute HERO! After seeing you go through all you did to bring our little girl to life has made me love and respect you even more. What a trooper you are. I couldn’t be more proud of you!! OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Amber Gill had a row with Maura Higgins after she failed to defend her when her ex-partner Michael Griffiths told her to “sit down like a dog.”
The Irish grid girl was appalled when she heard what the firefighter had said to the brunette beauty – who has made it clear she still has feelings for him – in last night’s (15.07.19) show and claimed she would’ve told him to “f**k off” if he’d done that to her.
However, the model was a little peeved that Maura had seemingly forgotten about Michael’s behaviour a bit later on and proceeded to laugh and joke with him in the kitchen along with her best friend Anna Vakili and Jordan Hames.
Speaking to Ovie Soko on the sun lounger, Amber said: “Don’t come over and shout from over there to me to tell me to sit down like I’m a f***ing dog.”
Ovie replied: “You need to see who’s for you and who’s not for you.”
Amber added: “But even people like Anna there sitting having a laugh with him. F*** those people that have just riled me up and that are just talking to them.”
Later on in tonight’s (16.07.19) episode, Maura asked Amber is she was OK.
To which Amber replied: “Not great.”
When Maura asked why, Amber shot back: “Everybody riled me up and then nobody said anything to him and was sitting around the kitchen laughing with him.”
Maura replied: “No, I was with Curtis, so don’t blame me.”
Amber fumed: “Just because you thought it was so disrespectful what he said, so it would have been nice for you to say that to him.”
In a bid to defend herself, Maura – who is now getting close to Curtis Pritchard – said: “What did you want me to do? Pull him aside and say ‘oh, blah, blah, blah’?”
As Amber walked away, she muttered: “I’ve had everybody’s back in here and I would expect the same from everybody else.”
Despite still being hung up on Michael, Amber’s luck may be about to change as new boy Greg O’Shea asked to take her on a date.

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Hart has landed a job as a guest panellist on ‘Loose Women’.
The ‘Love Island’ star left the ITV2 reality show last week in the wake of her heartbreaking split from Curtis Pritchard, but she won’t be off screens for long, as fans can catch her on the panel of the ITV daytime talk show next Wednesday (24.07.19).
Speaking to The Sun Online about her new role, she said: “I’m so excited, I’ve been a fan of ‘Loose Women’ since I was 12. It’s my birthday tomorrow so this is the best present ever. I can’t wait to see the see the ladies next Wednesday.”
Amy, 27, appeared on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (15.07.19) as a guest, and it appears she made such an impression she’s now been invited back to join the panel.
During her appearance this week, the air hostess described her ‘Love Island’ turmoil, which saw her half-boyfriend Curtis reveal he had feelings for newcomer Jourdan Riane, before Maura Higgins also stepped in to tell Curtis she wanted to get to know him better.
Speaking about Maura, Amy – who left the villa after initially being saved by her fellow islanders, as she wanted to give Curtis a chance to move on – said: “Initially I didn’t warm to Maura because of her treatment to Molly and her treatment of Elma. However because she’s kind, caring and funny and we’ve both travelled a lot, so we bonded over that. You live in the same house as people – we did form a friendship.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hollander is set to star in a BBC adaptation of ‘Us’.
The ‘Baptiste’ star will play the lead Douglas Petersen in the upcoming drama series based on the 2014 novel of the same name by David Nicholls.
‘Luther’ star Saskia Reeves will play his wife Connie and Tom Taylor of ‘Doctor Foster’ plays their son Albie in the four-parter, alongside the likes of ‘Gentleman Jack’ actress Sofie Grabol, Iain De Caestecker of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ fame and ‘Curfew’ star Thaddea Grahams.
The plot follows the couple as they head out on a tour of Europe and Douglas tries to win back the affections of his wife, who has fallen out of love with him.
Tom will also executive produce the series under Bandstand Productions alongside the tome’s author.
In a statement, the 51-year-old actor and executive producer Hannah Pescod said: “We are delighted to be working with the great David Nicholls in bringing his beautiful novel to BBC One.
“The trials of the Petersens will strike a chord with many – a family tale for our times.”
David is thrilled to be working with a “wonderful” cast and crew and teased viewers can expect “something funny, touching and beautiful”.
He commented: “It’s a huge thrill to see the novel come to life, and with such a wonderful cast and production team.
“We want to make something funny, touching and beautiful, to really explore marriage and family life, all against this incredible backdrop.”
Whilst Piers Wenger, Controller of BBC Drama, added: “We feel so honoured to be bringing David’s beautiful novel to BBC One and to have the brilliant Tom Hollander and Saskia Reeves playing the leading roles. We are thrilled to work with David and Drama Republic once again and also with Bandstand Productions on their debut drama for the BBC.”
‘Us’ will hit screens later this year on BBC One.
