Love Island’s Joanna praises Amber Gill for Michael snub

OHMYGOSSIP — Joanna Chimonides has praised her ‘Love Island’ love rival Amber Gill for snubbing Michael Griffiths during Friday’s (19.07.19) recoupling.
Amber chose new boy Greg O’Shea, despite her ex Michael – who dumped her for Joanna before Joanna was evicted from the villa – claiming he still has feelings for her and Joanna took to Instagram to share her reaction.
Joanna said: “‘I am actually really proud of her, I’m not going to lie.
“That was probably one of the hardest decisions that she was going to have to make and she did so well. Good on her!”
Amber was torn about who to partner up with after the firefighter declared he still had feelings for her but ultimately decided to choose the rugby player because he makes her happy.
She said: “I’ve got one boy we’ve had history, we’ve had ups and downs but I can’t deny there’s a connection there and then I’ve got another guy that’s come in and put a smile back on my face when I’ve been miserable.
“I didn’t shut him down after five minutes which was a good sign! It’s been hard for me to handle and it’s hard to choose whether to go with your heart or your head. Or whether you should go for a mixture of both, it’s been hard.”
Speaking to Greg after the recoupling, Amber said: “It was really hard … but if I’m genuinely honest I wouldn’t accept it on the outside so why would I accept it in here.”
Although Michael was devastated that Amber didn’t pick him, he told his friend Anton Danyluk that he’s not worried because the recoupling “doesn’t mean anything.”
He said: “I knew it was going to happen … It doesn’t mean anything the fact they’re coupled up. I’m not going to sit back and say I don’t have feelings for Amber when I do.
“I might have f**ked things up on the outside [with Joanna] and I might have f**ked things on the inside [with Amber] but I got everything off my chest.”
Amber was left heartbroken a few weeks ago when she came back from Casa Amor to find out that Michael had dumped her for Joanna.
He’s continuously claimed he has no feelings for Amber and could only see a future with Joanna, but refused to leave the villa when the social media influencer was kicked out earlier this week – even though he said he’d “found” what he was looking for in her.
Hours after Joanna left, Michael pulled Amber aside and told her he still liked her.
But it coincidentally came after she returned from a date with Greg.

Robbie Williams praises Amy Hart

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ superfans Robbie Williams and Ayda Field comforted Amy Hart after her villa heartbreak.
The 27-year-old air hostess met the former ‘X Factor’ judges at the ITV summer party in London this week and the pair praised her for how she handled her split from Curtis Pritchard.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Amy couldn’t believe Robbie was such a big fan of hers. He’s clearly been watching the show as he knew everything about the break-up. He was an absolute gent and very sweet to her.”
Meanwhile, Amy has previously admitted she was “in a very horrible place” with her mental health before quitting ‘Love Island’.
She said: “I chose my mental health over the reality show. I was in a very horrible place over the last week, to be told that the gloves were off with Maura [Higgins] and I had to ‘brace myself’, like a storm. I knew I had to leave when I did. I’m kidding myself thinking that I can watch Curtis cracking on with Maura. It would be self-sabotage. It’s not nice. I have to put myself and my sanity first.
“I’ve given up a place that 130,000 people applied for but I had to leave as I wasn’t myself any more. I was in absolute despair. I was grieving the loss of my first love, living in a house with him and watching one of my alleged friends get with him. I feel a million times better now I’ve left, but I defy anyone not to fall apart and be completely heartbroken. I was very confused. I couldn’t eat, I lost six pounds. I felt so numb. I didn’t feel hungry. When I wouldn’t eat, they would stand over me and make me eat a bowl of food or I couldn’t do the challenges.”

Deadpool 3 will happen

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Deadpool 3’ will “totally happen.”
The future of another instalment has been up in the air since Fox merged with Disney earlier this year, but the creator of the franchise Rob Liefeld is adamant that he will start working on the next movie “soon”.
Speaking to a fan on Twitter, he said: “It will totally happen!!! Soon! (sic)”
And this isn’t the first time he has told fans that there’s a third movie on the cards.
He said earlier this year: “Nothing like deadlines to clear your head… let me be clear Deadpool 3 will happen, some form, some fashion.
“That’s not a concern to me. Disney paid $60 billion for Fox and Deadpool is most valuable asset in today’s market. Makes more than X-Men films. (sic)”
and the thought of a third film will no doubt go down well with Ryan Reynolds – who portrays the former Special Forces operative – as he previously said landing the role was the “greatest gig” of his life so far.
Alongside a series of shots of him in his alter-ego’s attire, Ryan tweeted: “Happy #XMenDay. Since the moment I first put on the suit, it’s been the greatest gig of my life. Even “Practice Deadpool” in 2009. #NotReallyAnXMan #XPerson (sic)”
The ‘Green Lantern’ star previously admitted to feeling lucky to have been handed the role of Deadpool, describing it as a “limitless” experience.
The 42-year-old star said: “It’s pretty limitless. I would say it’s the role that I feel most privileged to have in my entire career. I feel like I was sort of born for it – I love Deadpool. The hardest thing on this set was keeping a straight face, but that’s what a mask is for! There are takes in the movie where I know I’m cracking up laughing under the mask but I’m doing it silently, but I’m supposed to be listening to something serious. It’s in there. If you watch you can kind of feel it.”

Two Halloween sequels lined up

OHMYGOSSIP — Two new ‘Halloween’ sequels are set for release.
Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions have announced plans for ‘Halloween Kills’, which is set for release on October 16, 2020 and ‘Halloween Ends’, which is due out on October 15, 2021.
Jamie Lee Curtis is set to reprise her role as Laurie Strode, who will battle psychopathic serial killer Michael Myers once again.
Curtis tweeted: “It ain’t over till the fat lady sings.” Well, my friends and fans….I’m just WARMING UP. Happy Halloween 2020/2021 @halloweenmovie #halloweenkills #halloweenends.”
John Carpenter, who wrote and directed the original 1978 film, tweeted: “The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode isn’t over, #HalloweenKills #HalloweenEnds @HalloweenMovie.”
Producer Jason Blum added: “FINALLY : not one but TWO new Halloween movies: Halloween Kills (2020) and Halloween Ends (2021). Yes, the gang is ALL back, including @jamieleecurtis, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and @TheHorrorMaster John Carpenter. Oh yea.”
Both movies will be written by Green, McBride and Scott Teems and will also be directed by Green.
Following the release and positive reception to 2018’s ‘Halloween’ Curtis admitted she’d be “happy” to return as Stroude – whom she first played in Carpenter’s 1978 ‘Halloween’, a role which made her Hollywood’s go-to ‘scream queen’.
She said: “I would make an assumption that, if [2018’s ‘Halloween’ director] David Gordon Green has a story to tell, that the people involved with the movie would encourage him to tell it … I’d be happy to do it, sure. This was an extraordinary experience. David was a fantastic director, writer, but obviously this 2018, 40th anniversary, was Laurie’s story, and obviously there are now other people’s stories that would need to get told.
“But Laurie’s story was told beautifully this year, and I would have no way of knowing how they would incorporate her into future.”

Michael Griffiths accused of using Amber Gill

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Griffiths has been accused of using Amber Gill to get to the ‘Love Island’ final.
The firefighter dumped Amber for Joanna Chimonides while Amber was in Casa Amor but came crawling back to her after Joanna left the villa and former Islander Olivia Attwood is sure that Michael is just using his former love.
She told The Sun Online: He’s playing a massive game. I don’t think she should take him back.
“Unless she also wants to play the game to make the final.
“Michael just wants to stay in to the end and leave on the family night. He is an original, he knows how big the final night is.
“I think he’s clever and knows that by getting back with Amber he’ll be guaranteed a final spot.”
Olivia also accused Michael of not having genuine feelings for either Amber or Joanna.
She said: “He knows Amber is an easy target because she’s been crying over him.”
“If Michael really like Joanna he would have left. You could never see any chemistry between them.”
Despite Michael’s pleas to reconcile, Amber snubbed him at the recoupling on Saturday (19.07.19) and chose Greg O’Shea instead.
She told Greg: “It was really hard … but if I’m genuinely honest I wouldn’t accept it on the outside so why would I accept it in here.”

Hollyoaks’ 25th anniversary stunt

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks’ is planning a huge stunt for its 25th birthday next year.
The soap will celebrate a quarter of a century on the air in 2020 and ‘Hollyoaks’ boss Bryan Kirkwood has promised that original cast member Nick Pickard, who plays Tony Hutchinson, will be central to the storyline.
He told Digital Spy: “We have got a really confident framework for the 25th year, which we’re very excited about.
“Nick Pickard is right at the centre of that – as he should be, as Tony Hutchinson is our original character from episode one.
We’re looking at the themes that brought people to Hollyoaks 25 years ago. It was introduced as a very young and youthful soap, so that ingredient is really high in the mix for the next year.
“I’m really confident in saying that we have a very original, ambitious story coming up for the teens and the families. Hopefully that will engage all of our viewers.
“We’re already talking about our stunt for the 25th anniversary week, which has got us excited too.”
And Tony’s father is set to appear in ‘Hollyoaks’ as a new supervillain.
Speaking about Joe McGann’s character Edward, Bryan said: “We’re very lucky to have Joe McGann here. He’s part of the McGann acting dynasty and it’s always a real treat and a pleasure to have someone of that calibre coming into ‘Hollyoaks’ to shake things up.
“Among the talks as we approached the 25th anniversary, we spoke about Tony’s dad. He was in the show as an off-screen character for the first few years of ‘Hollyoaks’.
“The character was previously called Brian in the show, so we will acknowledge the fact that he has changed his life. We are paying respect to the character that superfans will remember, so all will become clear when Edward comes on screen.”

Dame Helen Mirren doesn’t watch herself

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Helen Mirren won’t watch her own scenes back.
The 73-year-old actress feels “paralysed” if she catches a glimpse of her work in camera in the middle of a movie shoot and she’d rather feel “free”.
She told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “I don’t like to look at myself while working.
“I don’t watch them back. If I look, it sort of paralyses me and I want to be free and relaxed.”
Helen recently admitted she has a “secret ambition” to be a villain in a James Bond movie.
She said: “[Woman] get to play much cooler villains these days. But I’ve always had a secret ambition to play a villain in a James Bond movie.”
Asked whether she might try to further her case for a role in a Bond film, she added: “I’m not very proactive in that way. James Bond is such a well-oiled machine. It’s hard to put a spoke in that wheel.”
Helen was recently seen playing Mother Ginger in ‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’, which also features Keira Knightley and Morgan Freeman.
And the veteran star has admitted to relishing the on-set experience of working on the fantasy film.
She shared: “The costumes! My God! Every costume is a complete work of art.
“I’m eternally fascinated and impressed by the artisanal craftsmen behind the camera. You walk into the studio and you’re in a forest. It smells like a forest. It looks like a forest. It’s extraordinary. I was just dying to take photographs. But Disney is very, very secretive, and you can’t take photographs.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness handed 2021 release

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is set for release in 2021.
The eagerly awaited follow-up to 2016’s ‘Doctor Strange’ will see Benedict Cumberbatch reprise the role of the titular character, with Elizabeth Olsen starring as Scarlet Witch.
Elsewhere, Scott Derrickson is poised to return to direct the project, having helmed the original movie three years ago.
It’s been confirmed, too, that the upcoming release will be directly tied to the new Disney+ series ‘WandaVision’, which will see Elizabeth appear opposite Paul Bettany’s Vision.
Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, has already explained that the events of ‘WandaVision’ will overlap with ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’.
Meanwhile, Benedict previously admitted to becoming “giddy” when he donned his Doctor Strange costume for the first time.
He shared: “I really was quite giddy. I really did end up giggling. And then, the second time it really hit home was near the end of the main body of the shoot.
“We were in New York and we were on Fifth Avenue, and there were as many paparazzi as there was crew. It was getting a little bit surreal, and we were running down Fifth Avenue, jumping to fly, and there was the Empire State Building in the same eye line, and it was just a moment of magic to think about the men and women who first crafted these comics on the floors of some of those buildings, in that town, and there I was playing on it.”

Zachary Levi to do live-action Tangled?

OHMYGOSSIP — Zachary Levi wants to star in the live-action adaptation of ‘Tangled’.
The 38-year-old actor voiced the character of Flynn Rider in Disney’s Academy Award-nominated ‘Rapunzel’ adaptation in 2010 and has admitted he’d jump at the idea of playing the princess’ husband if the Studio were to make a new version, but he’s worried he won’t be the “right guy” to play the part by the time they make it.
Speaking to fans at the CCXP Cologne event, he said: “As much as I would love to play Flynn Rider in a live-action Tangled, by the time they get around to that, I don’t think I’m gonna be the right guy to play that role. I’ll be there coaching that guy, I’ll make sure he understands what that smoulder means, but I think my hair will be like Steve Martin-white by the time they do a live-action ‘Tangled’.”
He then teased: “In lieu of playing Flynn Rider in a live-action ‘Tangled’, I would say, I don’t know… Ariel from ‘The Little Mermaid’, maybe.”
However, although it doesn’t look like he’ll be playing Flynn any time soon, Zachary looks set for a busy year as he’s in talks to star in ‘Spy Guys’.
It was previously reported that Zachary will play a character “along the lines of Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt” who has to rely on the help of his incompetent college friends to help him when he gets stuck on an impossible mission.
The project was originally developed with Andy Samberg in mind for the lead role, however, the ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ star will now produce alongside his ‘Lonely Island’ co-stars Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer.
New Line has reportedly fast-tracked the movie as they want it to come out before the follow-up to this year’s DC hit ‘Shazam!’, in which Zachary played the titular hero.

Black Widow handed May 2020 release

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Black Widow’ movie has been handed a May 1, 2020 release date.
The long-awaited superhero movie will see Scarlett Johansson reprise the role of Natasha Romanoff for the Cate Shortland-directed project.
The 34-year-old actress will star in the film alongside the likes of David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz, and she can’t wait “for fans to see the flawed side” of her character.
She shared: “I get to play Natahsa as a fully realised woman and in all of her many facets, I’m excited for fans to see the flawed side of her, what she perceives to be the flawed side of her, and I’m looking to wipe out some of that red in my ledger so you guys will be seeing more of that.”
Cate, 50, is looking forward to the project too, describing Natasha as a “great heroine”.
However, she also promised to explore the character’s complex past.
She said: “I think that’s what drew me to the story, she’s got so many secrets, she’s got so much vulnerability and I think that’s what makes her such a great heroine.
“In this film we get to understand her past and put the pieces of herself together and come out a whole person.”
Elsewhere, Marvel President Kevin Feige has confirmed plans for a ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot.
It’s been revealed, too, that Mahershala Ali would lead a ‘Blade’ movie, whilst Natalie Portman is set to play a female version of Thor in the fourth instalment of the franchise.
The Oscar-winning actress previously starred as Jane Foster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in the first two ‘Thor’ films in 2011 and 2013.
Similarly, Taika Waititi is returning to the Marvel brand in order to direct ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’, having previously helmed 2017’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.

Ulrika Jonsson to star on I’m a Celebrity?

OHMYGOSSIP — Ulrika Jonsson is reportedly in talks to star on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 51-year-old TV presenter – who announced earlier this year that she was set to divorce her husband of 11 years, Brian Monet – has already held discussions with ITV bosses about appearing on the popular show.
An insider said: “Ulrika has been through a lot in the past few years. And now that she is getting divorced she feels the time is right for a new challenge.
“The Australian jungle certainly fits that description. And she knows that if she signs, it will be the first of many new TV contracts coming her way.
“Ulrika is keen to throw herself back into her presenting work full time and she feels that this could be the right first step for her.”
‘I’m a Celebrity’ bosses are desperate to get Ulrika on the show, with an insider saying her can-do attitude will make her an ideal contestant.
The source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “ITV bosses think she could be a great fit for the jungle, as she won’t hold back when it comes to getting stuck into the challenges.
“After she spoke so candidly about the break-down of her decade long marriage recently, they also think viewers will find her very relatable.”

Gemma Atkinson reveals her childbirth drama

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson was left fighting for her life as she gave birth to her daughter Mia.
The 34-year-old actress has taken to Instagram to reveal the story of her dramatic childbirth experience, admitting things “could have gone very differently”.
Gemma shared: “I was having a haemorrhage. A big one & I lost a lot of blood. (sic)”
The blonde beauty – whose boyfriend is ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Gorka Marquez – gave birth on July 4, and has now lifted the lid on her terrifying ordeal.
She wrote on the photo-sharing platform: “Mia was a tiny baby, 4lb 10. With that in mind the midwife was concerned she wouldn’t be strong enough to open my cervix.
“My water broke on a tues & we gave her the benefit of the doubt but by the Wednesday evening despite her being in the perfect place & so low down, she still hadn’t managed it.
“The decision was made to induce me to help her along but she disliked that even more. With every contraction her heart rate dropped.
“On the 3rd one midwife Katie who was taking care of me at the time pressed the panic alarm & within 15 mins I was rushed out, prepped & delivered Mia via an emergency C section.
“It wasn’t what I’d planned but thanks to my hypnobirthing despite the madness & panic, I was able to calmly keep my breathing technique & accept whatever is best for Mia just do it! (sic)”

Claudia Winkleman: I never take my make-up off

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Winkleman never takes her make-up off.
The 47-year-old TV presenter has revealed she flatly refuses to remove her make-up, even though it leaves her pillow smeared in eyeliner, bronzer and and lipstick.
She confessed: “I never take my make-up off. I go to bed with as much make-up on as I can so I look cooler in my dreams.”
Claudia admitted that even her husband, Kris Thykier, thinks her make-up routine is utterly bizarre.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Claudia shared: “My husband thinks I’m insane. I have a shower in the morning and some of it comes off.”
Earlier this year, meanwhile, Claudia and her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ co-star Tess Daly raised £782,686 for Comic Relief with their 24 hour dance-athon.
The presenting duo raked in an impressive three quarters of a million pounds for the charity, joined by some surprise guests and performers including Fleur East – who performed her single ‘Favourite Thing’ – as well as Davina McCall and Michael Ball.
Speaking before the event, Claudia said: “I’m so excited to be taking on this epic Dance-athon challenge with Tess live at Radio 2 in the legendary Wogan House. I know it’s going to be hilarious to watch because we’re pretty bad dancers – I’m not very good at standing, let alone dancing.
“Thankfully we’ll have each other and we’re going to push through to raise as much money as we can for Red Nose Day. We love Comic Relief and believe in everything they do. We’ve seen first-hand how the money raised provides a lifeline for people living in the most desperate situations, and we’re doing this for them.”

Vicky McClure says heartache inspired I am Nicola performance

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky McClure felt inspired by her own experiences of “jealousy” whilst shooting ‘I am Nicola’.
The 35-year-old actress – who is, perhaps, best known for her starring role in ‘Line of Duty’ – has admitted to drawing on her own heartache to inspire her performance in the Channel 4 drama.
She shared: “I felt blessed by my own private life. I remember texting Jonny [Owen, her fiance] after I watched it for the first time and said ‘God, I’m lucky’.
“Because I am. He’s a grown man I can have conversations with and who lets me fly. I’m lucky because everyone doesn’t find that. I didn’t at one point.”
According to Vicky, there are obvious parallels between her real-life experiences and those of her on-screen character.
She told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “It’s not a carbon copy of my life but it’s something I’ve experienced in relationships, where there’s been issues with trust or jealousy, feeling controlled. It’s a mixture of what I’ve heard from friends.
“This isn’t physical, it’s the mundane. Going to work, coming back. It’s what a real relationship feels like. One minute it’s exploding, the next everything is OK.
“When I was younger I was envious of what friends had. There’s moments of that with Nicola.
“There’s moments of jealousy in a relationship, which is common when younger. That can carry into older life.”

Michael Griffiths and Francesca Allen leave the Love Island villa

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Griffiths and Francesca Allen have left the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The firefighter and the clothing store manager have departed the ITV2 show, after the Islanders chose to save Jordan Hames and Anna Vikali and Chris Taylor and Harley Brash.
Following his exit, Michael said: “My ‘Love Island’ experience has been a whirlwind. The best summer of my life. It took me to places I didn’t really know and it’s made me learn a lot about myself.”
Whilst Francesca added: “I’ve learned so much and I’ve made amazing memories so I don’t feel sad about leaving.”
The other couples were tasked with choosing who to save, with the majority picking Jordan and Anna, who made their relationship official during Sunday night’s (21.07.19) show.
Giving their decision, Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard said: “We have chosen to save this couple because they have been through a massive test and they came out stronger than ever. They hit a massive milestone in their relationship not that long ago. We have chosen to save Anna and Jordan.”
Whilst Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury said: “Obviously we love every person stood there in front of us but we have chosen to save this couple because they’re just amazing. It’s really hard to see the couple be stood up there in the bottom three. We don’t feel like they deserve it at all. So the couple we have chosen to save Anna and Jordan.”
Amber Gills and Greg O’Shea and Belle Hassan and Anton Danyluk chose to save Anna and Jordan.
Meanwhile, Ovie Soko and India Reynolds opted to save Harley and Chris.
Giving their decision, they said: “We have chosen to save this couple because it’s who I started my ‘Love Island’ journey with and I feel like she’s my little sister and I couldn’t imagine being in here without her. We feel like you’ve only just started your journey so the couple we are saving is Chris and Harley.”
‘Love Island’ continues on Monday (22.07.19).

Michael Griffiths wishes ex Amber Gill well

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Griffiths wished his ex Amber Gill well as he departed the ‘Love Island’ villa on Sunday (21.07.19).
The firefighter bid farewell to his former love as he left the island and told Amber that he hopes she works it out with new boy Greg O’Shea as he just wants her to be happy.
Amber said: “You’ve been here since day one and above anything, we are good friends and we got on so well. Can’t believe you’re going really. I don’t wanna get upset.”
And Michael told her: “It’s the right time, 100 per cent. I know I wasn’t the nicest person over the past few weeks. I said to you that I don’t think you and Greg will work. After seeing you more, I actually do see it working. I see how happy he makes you and it makes me happy seeing him make you happy. I just didn’t see it before but I see it more now.”
And in the Beach Hut, Amber admitted the chat they had “meant so much” because he didn’t need to do it.
She said: “He’s a lovely guy, he did make a few mistakes but he did not have to have that conversation at all. It wasn’t necessary to have that but it meant so much.”
Michael – who dumped Amber after meeting Joanna Chimondes in Casa Amor – confessed he still liked her in a deep chat, whilst also apologising to her after he demanded she “sit down” before a chat and said he was “taking out his frustration” on her.
Michael said: “When I came over and told you to sit down, it was because you had been wearing heels all night and I didn’t want you to walk anywhere else. I am apologising if it came across in a bad way.”
