Sam Wilkinson excited about The Voice Kids final

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Wilkinson is “really excited” about ‘The Voice Kids’ final.
The 13-year-old singer will be performing an original song, ‘Everything’s Alright’ and also a duet with his mentor Danny Jones, and is looking forward to being backed by a full band.
Sam said: “I’m really excited to get back on the stage and perform again. It’s always fun to play with the live band as well.”
Meanwhile, nine-year-old Keira Laver – who has been mentored by Jessie J – is feeling confident about her chances in the final – but also “nervous”.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “I’m confident and a little bit nervous but as long as I know that my family and friends are there to support me, I will be OK.
“I’m gonna turn my negative nerves into positive nerves.”
The finalists – which also include Gracie-Jane Fitzgerald, 12, and 11-year-old Lil Shan Shan – admit it will be tough to go head-to-head because they’ve all become such good friends.
Sam said: “It’s been great to meet all the other contestants and we’re all really good friends now.”
Gracie-Jayne admitted: “It’s tough being in a competition when you have made such fabulous friends. You want them all to be there in the final with you.”
Danny recently revealed he had asked his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher to help Sam with his songwriting and to prepare for this weekend’s final.
He said: “[Sam’s doing his] own song and I brought Tom in to help structure it and give Sam confidence and inner belief to do this for a final.
“I mentor in a way that I want him to have the internal belief to protect him from the external.”
The ‘All About You’ hitmaker is proud his contestant is performing an original song and doesn’t think Sam needs much help to become a fully-fledged recording artist, despite only being a teenager.
He said: “He’s now an artist. I think this could be released the day after and be successful. He’s ready to make an album, he’s ready to go.”
‘The Voice Kids’ final airs on Saturday (27.07.19) at 8pm on ITV.

Moya Brady wants Connie Hyde in Hollyoaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Moya Brady wants Connie Hyde to play her nemesis in ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 56-year-old actress – who plays serial killer Breda McQueen – struck up a friendship with the former ‘Coronation Street’ actress when they portrayed rivals on ‘The Bill’ and she’d love to reignite their spark on screen once again.
She told The Sun Online: “Connie’s one of my best friends, I loved working with her. She’s an amazing actress and it was great to do it, I loved doing those scenes, it was so passionate actually.
“We really work well together.
“‘Hollyoaks’ would be lucky to have her she’s an amazing actress. She’s honestly one of my favourite people I’ve ever worked with and she’s just finished in ‘Corrie’ hasn’t she…”
Moya thinks her alter ego – who has been targeting “bad dads” – is “insane” and she’s amazed at how she’s stayed so calm and in control while the “pressure is building” around her.
She said: “I just think that she’s insane. She’s hearing a voice from God, and I do think she has a bit of a blood lust as well.
“I mean, the pressure is building, but she still seems to be in control and nobody realises she’s killed all these people while she’s walking around with her little sausage dog.”
After Breda shockingly killed Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) earlier this week, Moya warned that the death could be her undoing.
She teased: “It’s part of the snakes and ladders, isn’t it? I do think she’s going down the snake now and I do think she’s unravelling a bit.
“All serial killers have to be caught eventually…”

Amy Hart can’t have job back

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Hart “can’t go back” to her job as a flight attendant.
The former Miss United Kingdom – – who left the ‘Love Island’ villa after being dumped by Curtis Pritchard – had hoped she’d be able to take some time out to go on the show and boost her social media following, but she had to quit permanently.
She said: “I thought that I would be able to go back to my job afterwards and I thought brilliant coz obviously you can get really good Instagram content around the world in all the destinations. We go to the Maldives, Barbados, feeding the horses in the sea. So I was like brilliant, I’ll just get a few hundred thousand Instagram followers then I can go back to my job and just get really good Instagram content around the world and then obviously, I can’t go back to my job.
“I can’t go back.. I had to leave before I went in.”
Despite the problems between them, Amy hopes she and Curtis can be friends outside of the villa.
Speaking on Heart Breakfast with JK and Kelly Brook, she said: “He doesn’t fancy me so..no..not in a relationship but obviously as friends, I would really like to be friends but I’ll wait for him to call me because it’s not fair on Maura to be calling him.”
Despite walking away from the show, Amy is still “really grateful” to have had a stint on the programme.
She said: “I feel really really lucky and really grateful. When I left obviously you speak to the producer afterwards and all I kept saying to them was thank you so much for giving me that opportunity’.
“Like even if I had to do that last week again, I’d do it if I could get the first four.
“And that’s why I do want to be friends with everyone in that villa despite having my differences, you know Lucie, Maura, Curtis. I do want to be friends with all of them coz we are the only people in the world that know what it was like to be in there and we did that together, all of us, our experience would have been so different without all of us there.
“So I wouldn’t change anything and that’s why I think we’ve got to all be friends because it’s what it’s all about.”

Scarlett Johansson hopes Black Widow ‘elevates genre’

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Johansson wants the ‘Black Widow’ movie to “elevate” the superhero genre.
The 34-year-old actress – who plays the international spy and assassin Natasha Romanoff and her superhero alter ego in the hotly-anticipated movie – has praised the film’s director Cate Shortland and insisted that the “biggest clue” she can give as to what the film entails, is the “brutal and breathtaking” filmography of the filmmaker.
In an interview with Collider, she said: “I think even just looking at Cate Shortland’s filmography and knowing she’s directing this film.
“Like it all clicks together, you understand, people say ‘What’s the movie like? What does it look like? What clues can you give us? ‘
“The biggest clue I can give you is that Cate Shortland is directing it.
“And her movies are so brutal and breathtaking and raw and truthful and like visually masterful you know that’s what I envision for the Black Widow and that’s how we can elevate the genre with ‘Black Widow’.”
The ‘Black Widow’ movie has been handed a May 1, 2020 release date and the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ star revealed that the new film will show the “dirty truth” of her character.
When asked what it was that drew her towards the script, she said: “It really wasn’t because we’ve been working on the script for a couple of year.
“It was the feeling that both Kevin Feige and I had about what it could be that’s what kept me engaged and him as well like ‘Are you comfortable with the dirty truth? Can we get kinda ugly? Can it be real? Can it be raw?’ And yeah we want it to be all those things so I was like okay. ”

Jurassic World director teases original cast return

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Jurassic World’ director Colin Trevorrow has teased the original ‘Jurassic Park’ cast may return in the next instalment of the franchise.
The 42-year-old filmmaker revealed that “nothing would make him happier” than to see the likes of Laura Dern and Sam Neill – who appeared as Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant in the original 1993 film – as well as Jeff Goldblum, who reprised his role as chaos theorist Dr Ian Malcolm in the fifth film in the series ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’, appear in ‘Jurassic World 3’.
Speaking to Variety, he said: “I can confirm nothing. But nothing would make me happier than to be able to work with any of those people.”
As for whether this will be the last film in the ‘Jurassic World’ series, the ‘Book of Henry’ director went on to explain that he doesn’t know yet as he tends to focus on “one movie at a time”.
He said: “I’m kind of a one movie at a time kind of guy, so my eyes are on this one. And it’s a celebration of everything that has existed in the franchise up until now.”
Laura, 53, previously admitted she “could never say no” to reprising her role in the next film, although she has “no idea” what bosses are “cooking up” for the upcoming sixth instalment of the dinosaur franchise.
She said: “I don’t know, I have no idea actually. I mean, I love Dr. Ellie Satler so I could never say no to that on any level. But I really don’t know. I don’t even know what they’re cooking up yet.”
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star went on to explain that she only just recently met ‘Jurassic World’ leading man Chris Pratt, 39, however, the pair immediately bonded and Laura insisted the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star was “fantastic and hilarious.”
She said: “I met Chris recently at a restaurant and we didn’t know each other. It was really funny; we ran into each other’s arms and hugged each other like we were family, because we’re both in the same movie [franchise.] He just seemed fantastic and hilarious.”

Jamie Bell feared for ‘literal safety’ after his new film ‘Skin’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Bell was “very scared” about his “literal safety” portraying a white supremacist in his new film ‘Skin’.
The 33-year-old actor stars in the biographical drama as former skinhead group member Bryon Widner , the co-founder of a violent white power group in Indiana called Vinlanders Social Club, who marries a woman called Julie Larsen who – with the help of a black rights activist – helps him turn his back on hate and leave his own organisation.
Jamie felt a lot of “fear and trepidation” about the role as he feels white power groups in the US “are not to be messed with” and admitted he was “afraid” for his own wellbeing if he took on the part.
Speaking on Variety’s ‘The Big Ticket’ podcast, he said: “I was very scared, honestly. There was a lot of fear and trepidation about doing this movie. I was worried.
“I think that these are a group of people that are not to be messed with, really. They are organised, they’re armed.
“They’ve shown and they continue to show that they are people who don’t mind being out in the daylight.
“They don’t care that their faces are out there carrying torches, saying things they they’re saying, carrying the slogans that they’re carrying. So, just from a literal sense of safety, I was afraid.”
The ‘Billy Elliot’ actor went on to explain that he’d even considered turning down the role a he felt the current social climate was ” too explosive”.
He said: “I got off the phone and I said to Guy [Nattiv, the film’s director], ‘I don’t think we should be making this movie, man. I think that it’s too incendiary right now. It’s too explosive.’
“We’re in a world where it’s being emboldened. They’re walking in the streets. They’re in broad daylight. They’re showing their faces.'”

Alex George warns Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury about ‘pressure

OHMYGOSSIP — Dr. Alex George thinks the “pressure” of the outside world could split Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury up.
The former ‘Love Island’ star has been keeping a keen eye on this year’s show and has advised the couple to manage their time carefully to maximise the chances of staying together, otherwise he warned they risk the same fate as last year’s winners, Dani Dyer and Jack FIncham, who split up in April.
He told the Racing Post: “On the outside the challenge they will face is the pressure of the media in general, social media and work and his boxing career. How they manage their time will play a big part.”
However, the doctor thinks Tommy and Molly-Mae “compliment each other really well”.
He continued: “We will see whether they can cope with the strain on the relationship. Looking at Jack and Dani from last year, it was the pressure of the outside world which made them crack.”
But Alex thinks the pair stand a good chance of winning as they have managed to stay together for the entirety of the series without having their “heads turned” by any of the other islanders.
He said: “They fell out a little at the start when Tommy was interested in Maura as well but he then chose Molly-Mae and they’ve looked very strong throughout.
“Neither of them have had their heads turned since.”
Meanwhile, Alex doesn’t think Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins have any hope of winning the show or staying together when the cameras stop rolling.
He said: “I don’t see them as a couple and I don’t see them lasting on the outside. They’re not a good match. Curtis has made quite a few mistakes in the villa. The way he handled the situation involving Jordan and Anna in the villa was probably quite regrettable.
“They won’t get anywhere near winning. I don’t think the public believe in their relationship enough.”

Love Islanders to boot out a couple

OHMYGOSSIP — The remaining ‘Love Island’ contestants are to vote on the next couple to leave the villa.
Producers are forcing the islanders to turn on one another just days before Monday’s (29.07.19) final, with scenes airing on Friday (26.07.19) showing the couples asked to decide on who they feel should be dumped from the villa.
Belle Hassan gets to break the news to the rest of the group when she receives a text which says: “Islanders. Tonight, each couple must secretly vote for one other couple that they think should be dumped from the Island.”
“You must now discuss in your couples who you’re going to choose and why, before submitting your decision by text.”
It is not yet known when the votes will be counted and the couple ejected, but it could be just hours before the final takes place.
A source told The Sun Online: “It’s still undecided when the next dumping is but it could be Sunday.”
Last night’s episode showed the couples celebrating their final dates before the finale.
Curtis Pritchard, 23, and Maura Higgins, 28, were seen toasting their future with a harp playing in the background.
Meanwhile, Ovie Soko and India Reynolds were seen gushing at each other in a historic courtyard.
Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea enjoyed their final date on a boat, talking about their “instant connection”.
Tonight’s episode will show Molly-Mae, 19, and Tommy, 20, and Anton Danyluk, 28, and Belle 21, go on dates as the series finally draws to an end.
The winners will be crowned in a special feature-length episode, with a prize of £50,000 at stake for either a couple to share or one to steal for themselves.

One couple to get dumped from Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard, Ovie Soko and India Reynolds and Anton Danyluk and Belle Hassan are at risk of being dumped from ‘Love Island’.
The three couples are in danger of falling at the last hurdle after their fellow islanders – Tommy Fury, Molly-Mae Hague, Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea – voted to axe them from the ITV2 hit dating show just one day before the live final.
The fate of the three pairs is now down to the public as they have to choose their favourite couple and the one with the least amount of votes will get the chop.
Maura and Curtis – who got together shortly after Amy Hart quit the programme – have had a number of small squabbles over the past few weeks, but the fact they’re in the bottom three will no doubt come as a shock to the grid girl as she was convinced that no one would vote to boot her out because she gets on with everyone in the villa.
The islanders believe Ovie and India are a good match but they don’t think they have been together long enough for them to earn a place in the final next week.
Belle and Anton, on the other hand, had a major row last week when the gym owner kissed Anna Vakili in front of the blonde beauty as part of a snog, marry, avoid task.
Tommy and Molly – who have been together since the very beginning and are now officially boyfriend and girlfriend – received no votes because they’re deemed “strong.”
Amber and Greg may be a new couple but the islanders have enjoyed seeing the model loved up after she had her heart crushed by Michael Griffiths after Casa Amor.

Kim Cattrall: I choose roles based on how fun they are

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Cattrall chooses her acting roles based on how “fun” they are.
The 62-year-old actress – who recently played Agrippina in the children’s comedy ‘Horrible Histories: The Movie’ – doesn’t take her long-running career as “seriously” as she once did because she prefers to have a “great time” on set whilst working on a project.
Kim said: “One of the reasons I said yes to Horrible Histories was also because I’m not taking my career now, in my sixties, as seriously as I did in my 30’s, my 40s and my 50s.
“I’m kind of making choices on the level of ‘Is this something that I’m really going to have fun for a week, or two, three weeks’.
“I’m just about to go back and do a series in the states and one of the criteria was ‘Who are the people? Is it going to be fun? Let’s do it!’
“Not ‘Is this going to get me to this level.’ I used to think it’s a hit if people really like it, I think it’s a hit if I had a great time.”
And the ‘Sex and the City’ star thought being part of the star-studded ‘Horrible Histories: The Movie’ cast, which also includes Nick Frost, Emilia Jones and Derek Jacobi to name a few, was simply “fantastic”.
She added to BBC Radio 2: “I’m in a really lucky position, monetary issues obviously help you be in the state of mind, but you could be in that state of mind if you’re aware of what’s going on out there and trying to connect yourself to those kind of productions. A lot of people say ‘Why would you do a film like this?’ I say ‘It was fantastic!'”
The ‘Mannequin’ actress also insisted she loves to “work hard” but keeps her priorities “aligned” to make sure she has balance in her life.
She continued: “I think I’m doing something that I really enjoy, I’m spending time with people that I love, I’m still out there but I think I have my priorities more in align and I think that’s changed throughout the decades. I see that I want to have fun, I want to work hard but I also want to have some time away, just me time.
“Just time to be in nature, we have a place in Canada where I grew up Vancouver Island, and it’s just lovely to get away, have no part of show business, and watch movies I’ve never seen or missed because I was working so hard. It’s not called retirement, but I think that’s that thing that I’ve gotten right, to pace myself and come from a place of real joy in the decisions that I make.”

Joaquin Phoenix thinks ‘people will be mad’ with Joker movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Joaquin Phoenix thinks “people are gonna be mad” that ‘Joker’ doesn’t “follow anything” from the original comic books.
The 44-year-old actor fears that the upcoming movie based on the origin of the DC Comics villain may not live up to fans expectations as he and director Todd Phillips chose to stray from the original DC material and focus on the “story of becoming Joker”.
Phoenix said: “We didn’t follow anything from the comic books, which people are gonna be mad about. We just wrote our own version of where a guy like Joker might come from.
“That’s what was interesting to me. We’re not even doing Joker, but the story of becoming Joker. It’s about this man. ”
The ‘Gladiator’ actor added that he thought the project sounded “super ambitious” when he first discussed it with Phillips.
He told Empire magazine: “I thought it was crazy-ambitious. Todd said to me ‘I have this idea, I wanna tell the origin story of the Joker. I said ‘Wow okay'”.
The ‘War Dogs’ filmmaker went on to explain that he didn’t use “one green-screen” in the film as he feels the “energy” from an actor is different if they’re filming in real locations rather than a studio.
Philips said: “In the most reductive way it’s the New York of 1981 that I remember. It’s a broken-down city, and the people in it are broken down.
“The energy you get from the actor is different on 179th street and Jermone Avenue in the Bronx than if we did that green-screen, which, by the way, I don’t even know how to do shit like that. There’s not one green screen in this movie. ”

Andy Serkis to direct Venom 2?

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Serkis is reportedly among the candidates to direct ‘Venom 2’.
The 55-year-old actor – who directed 2018’s ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’ – is one of a number of people who’ve met with Sony about helming the company’s ‘Venom’ sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ruben Fleischer helmed the first ‘Venom’ movie, which starred Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, aka Venom, but he is not returning to direct the sequel.
The original movie made as much as $856 million at the global box office and Sony is determined to start shooting the follow-up before the end of the year, with the company reportedly hoping to begin production work in November.
Meanwhile, Andy – who is best-known for his motion-capture work – previously insisted he isn’t motivated by accolades.
The acclaimed actor claimed he is simply determined to make the best movies he can possibly make, rather than chasing awards.
Speaking after making ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’, Andy shared: “We don’t make films to win awards, it’s very lovely if it comes along.
“But for me the reward is fulfilling a vision and being in a privileged position to make a film like this where you’re going to be sharing it with an audience and hopefully in some small way, changing the perception of humanity.”
