Susannah Constantine ‘prayed lorry would hit her car’

OHMYGOSSIP — Susannah Constantine used to pray for her car to be driven into by a lorry.
The 57-year-old TV presenter has battled anxiety for 30 years, and still suffers from feelings of unease, but at its worst she used to think about huge vehicles smashing into her motor while she was inside.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she said: “I would pray that my car would be driven into by a lorry or something, so that I could put an end to it all.
“But it was just a thought that flashed through my mind … I say that.
“I woke up this morning with that snowball in my stomach. It’s now starting to melt.
“Usually by 11am, 12pm its gone and I’m OK.”
The fashion guru admitted the condition makes her feel lonely and she first noticed her symptoms as a child.
She said: “I would wake up as a child every morning drenched in sweat.
“My mother was manic-depressive and I guess I would wake up every morning scared of how she would be today.
“There was that feeling of uncertainty. Was I going to be abandoned to her illness that day? So I think it stems from that.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant rarely ever shared her intense feelings with friends or family, admitting it was a “very personal thing”.
She said: “I now look at it as a haunting. I look at it as the ghost of anxiety has come to visit me and it’s going to pass.
“So, intellectually, I know it’s not going to stay with me … I use it as a motivator now.”

Chris Ramsey, David James, and Emma Barton confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Ramsey, David James, and Emma Barton are the first stars announced for this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The comedian, the England football legend, and the ‘EastEnders’ star will all take to the dance floor later this year when the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition hits screens.
The three stars were announced during ‘The One Show’ on Wednesday (31.07.19), and the official ‘Strictly’ Twitter account later confirmed the news.
Speaking about his decision to appear on the show, 32-year-old Chris – who has previously appeared on the likes of ‘Celebrity Juice’ and fronts ‘The Chris Ramsey Show’ – said: “I’m both excited and absolutely terrified to be doing the show. You will not find me on the dance floor at parties, you will find me at the buffet table. All night. At my wedding I danced with my wife; that one song took about six months practice, and I definitely stood on her feet a couple of times. So I’m looking forward to the possibility of making a fool of myself in front of millions of people … there better be a buffet after the live shows.”
Whilst former England goalkeeper David – who has also worked as a football analyst for the BBC and BT Sport – said he was “excited” to be on the show, even if it means being compared to the previous sporting stars who have taken part.
He said in a statement: “I’m really excited to be on ‘Strictly’ this year. Not just competing against this year’s stars, but being compared to previous sport stars from previous Strictly seasons. I have some big shoes to fill.”
And Emma, who plays Honey Mitchell in BBC soap ‘EastEnders’, can’t wait to hit the dance floor, as she believes she’s one of the “biggest ‘Strictly’ fans on the planet”.
She said: “As possibly one of the biggest ‘Strictly’ fans on the planet, I still can’t believe this is happening. I’m very much a dance around your handbag kinda girl, but now I’ve been given this wonderful opportunity to learn all the different styles of dancing from the very best in the business. So, I’m whipping off Honey’s ‘Minute Mart’ tabard and diving right in to all the glitter and sparkle. From Albert Square to the ‘Strictly’ dance floor – I just can’t wait!”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will air later this year, and more stars are set be announced in the coming weeks.

Chloe Sims shed two stone after Dan Edgar fallout

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Sims lost two stone after being humiliated by Dan Edgar.
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star has revealed she shed the hefty amount after the fallout from her split from Dan, as she accused the reality television star from altering public perception of her.
She said: “He is not a bad person but the way he has gone about it and let the public think of me, I feel like he destroyed nine years of me building myself up to be transparent on TV. I feel like he might as well have got a bulldozer. The abuse I got every single day was ‘desperate, plastic s**g. Ugly’ – it was so bad. Every single day. I don’t care how strong you are. I lost nearly two stone. I was so skinny. It drove me mad. It was awful. I should have known better but I didn’t. I don’t know how I didn’t know but you just get blinded by handsome men!”
And Chloe was most hurt by the whole thing because she and Dan had been so good friends for so many years.
She told The Sun Online: “If it had been anyone else I would have pulled him up on everything, but don’t forget he was my friend for six years. He was a close friend, not a random guy I worked with. Me, Lauren and Diags were a squad, even when he was with Amber he would leave her to be with us. We were in a really close friendship, so for him to lie and let those things go on TV and know he was humiliating me… That’s why I kept crying. It wasn’t because I was so in love with Dan Edgar, it was because he had initiated something, it was because he had lied.”

Jessica Plummer so star-struck by Lacey Turner she couldn’t look her in the eye

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Plummer was so star-struck by Lacey Turner when she first joined ‘EastEnders’ she couldn’t “look her in the eye”.
The 26-year-old actress was such a “fangirl” when she met the Stacey Slater actress after watching the 31-year-old star on screen for the past 15 years, and she is such a big supporter she once watched an episode featuring her and Gillian Wright (Jean Slater) five times.
Jessica – who plays Chantelle Atkins in the BBC One soap – said: “I remember when I first met Lacey Turner, and I was thinking, ‘I can’t look her in the eye.’
“I really am such a fangirl right now.”
Asked who her Albert Square favourites were when she was growing up, she said: “Stacey and Jean. I remember crying my eyes out during one particular episode they featured in.
“I think it was just those two in the episode, and I watched it like five times.”
Jessica is currently involved in a hard-hitting domestic abuse storyline.
Viewers recently saw Chantelle being physically abuse by her husband Gray Atkins (Toby Alexander-Smith), but Jessica insists Toby is a “sweetheart” in real life.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: “Toby is such a sweetheart, it’s lovely working with him.
“He’s so kind and easy to be with, and the majority of the scenes I shoot are with him.
“I prayed that I would get along with my on-screen husband and I really do.”
Jessica recently admitted it is an “honour” to take on the plot.
She said: “I feel honoured to take on the responsibility of Chantelle’s story. This is an issue that I, and everyone at ‘EastEnders’, hope we can raise awareness of.
“Many women and men that are in Chantelle’s situation suffer in silence and we really hope that by showing this story we can highlight an issue and encourage those
in similar situations to seek the help they need.”

Olivia Wilde to direct Don’t Worry Darling

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Wilde will direct and star in ‘Don’t Worry Darling’.
The 35-year-old actress made her directorial debut in comedy movie ‘Booksmart’ earlier this year, and she is set to step behind the camera once again in the upcoming psychological thriller.
According to Deadline, there are around 18 offers for the movie, which is set in the 1950s and tells the story of a housewife who begins to crack.
Shane and Carey Van Dyke have penned the script, and Roy Lee and Miri Yoon will produce the motion picture.
Wilde is currently filming the Clint Eastwood-directed ‘Richard Jewell’ after joining the cast alongside Jon Hamm.
The upcoming drama features Paul Walter Hauser in the title role while Sam Rockwell and Kathy Bates will play his attorney and mother respectively.
The movie follows police officer and security guard Jewell after he is wrongly accused of planting a bomb during the Olympic Park bombing at the 1996 Atlanta Games.
The upcoming film sees Jewell as his life is transformed after the police leaked that he was a suspect in the incident.
Jewell – who found a suspicious backpack in the Olympic Park, before clearing the area and saving lives – quickly went from being considered a hero, to one of the most disliked people in the US.
Wilde is expected to take on the role of real-life reporter Kathy Scruggs, who covered the event as it unfolded, and Hamm has been cast as an FBI agent investigating the bombing.
Leonardo DiCaprio, who was initially tipped to play Jewell, will produce the project.

James Wan working on new horror movie

OHMYGOSSIP — James Wan is to direct a new horror movie.
The ‘Aquaman’ filmmaker is returning to his horror roots for New Line Cinema, according to Variety.
Details about the plot have been very close guarded but Wan has a history of directing horrors, having worked on ‘The Conjuring’ series in the past as well as ‘The Curse of La Llorona’ and ‘Lights Out’. Wan will also be working on ‘Aquaman’ at the same time, having recently revealed him and his team are “deep” into “crafting the script” of its spin-off, ‘The Trench’ .
The movie is based on the deadly creatures who attacked Jason Momoa’s titular alter ego and his love Mera in the 2018 DC Comics superhero film and will “lean” heavier on the horror side.
Giving fans an update, Wan said: “We, you know, we’re still deep in sort of crafting the script, crafting the story right now so I don’t want to get into that too much. But definitely it’s one that I really want to lean into the horror of it, so it’s going to play more as a monster horror movie than it will as a superhero film, but it’s still definitely part of the ‘Aquaman’ world.”
Wan loves horror so much that he wants to direct a “horror version of Batman”, which would explore the darkest parts of his mind and Gotham City and it is still one of his big ambitions.
Wan – who created the ‘Insidious’, ‘Saw’ and ‘Conjuring’ horror franchises – said: “In the past, like most people, I loved the idea of directing Batman, but a horror version of Batman.
“That would be a potential fantasy of mine, but I feel like he’s been done quite a fair bit. But, I do love the idea of doing an outright scary Batman. I feel like that’d be really cool.”

Gemma Collins ‘signs BBC podcast deal’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins has signed a deal with the BBC for a tell-all podcast.
The 38-year-old reality TV star’s new pod is said to be launching in two weeks and will be available on the BBC Sounds app, and the corporation are hoping the GC’s legion of fans tune in.
A source close to the former ‘Dancing on Ice’ star said: “She is absolutely over the moon to have done this deal with the BBC.
“It will be a regular podcast, available through the BBC Sounds app, which they are hoping will be a massive draw for her millions of young fans.
“It will launch in a fortnight, when listeners will be able to listen to hear Gemma talking about all sorts of things to do with her crazy life.”
Gemma is said to be “really investing” in the forthcoming podcast.
The source added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Gemma knows what a huge deal it is to have got her foot in the door with the BBC so she is really investing in the podcast.
“It is a brilliant opportunity for her.”
It looks set to be a busy 2019 for Gemma with her new reality TV show ‘Diva Forever’ set to launch next week.
Gemma’s podcast deal with the BBC comes two years after she threatened to take legal action against the corporation after she fell through an open trapdoor in the stage at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards.
She previously claimed she “could have died” or been left “disabled” after she fell through the hole in the stage and landed on top of former ‘Love Island’ contestants Jamie Jewitt, Amber Davies and Marcel Somerville.
She said: “I’m in total shock. It is a miracle I am living to tell the tale.
“I could have died or at least been disabled at the end of it. I could have been legless. Legless!
“I’m not being funny, I didn’t even get a tenner for turning up. I didn’t even know there was a hole there.
“To be honest when it happened I didn’t know where I was, what day of the week it was.
“No joke, my life did flash before my eyes. I thought I was dead.”
But Gemma later admitted she wasn’t going to sue the BBC.
She said: “I’m not going to sue the BBC. I’d like to do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.”

Saffron Barker confirmed as 4th Strictly Come Dancing contestant

OHMYGOSSIP — Saffron Barker has been confirmed as the fourth ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant for this year’s series.
The YouTuber was revealed as the latest star who will take to the dancefloor later this year by Heart Breakfast’s showbiz expert and previous ‘Strictly’ contestant Ashley Roberts earlier this morning (01.08.19), and Saffron “cannot wait” to find out who her professional partner is.
She said: “I am so excited I can’t even tell you. This is such a dream for me.
“I’m also very nervous but I just can’t wait for it to actually start and I’ve had to hold this in for such a long time now, I’m so excited its announced.
“I’m actually most excited to find out my partner, although I know I’ve still got to wait another month to find out my partner.
“But just to get started, learning a new skill obviously.
“Like how cool to say you can do Latin and ballroom? And obviously all the glitz and glam.”
While Saffron confirmed she is single, she hasn’t thought about looking for love on the dancefloor and would prefer to concentrate on her dancing.
When asked if she is hoping to hook up with someone on ‘Strictly’, she said: “You know what I haven’t even really thought about that.
“I think I’m just so focused on … obviously I want to meet my partner and have the best time and everything else, but I’m just so focused on working hard and yeah I haven’t even really thought about it.
“I think I’ll be happy with anybody but one thing that I really do want is a partner that pushes me and works hard.
“To be honest, I think they’re probably gonna be sick of me because I’m not going to want to leave the training room.”
Fellow YouTube star Joe Sugg finished as runner-up on the show last year, and Saffron admits he will be a tough act to follow.
Speaking on ‘Heart Breakfast’, she added: “I’m excited to follow in his footsteps. He done absolutely amazing … I’ve got a lot to live up to.”
Saffron’s announcement comes after it was confirmed last night (31.07.19) that EastEnders’ Emma Barton, former England footballer David James, and comedian Chris Ramsay will also compete in this year’s ‘Strictly’.
Tune in to ‘Heart Breakfast’, weekdays from 06:30 – 10:00.

Amy Walsh opens up about ‘hardcore’ Emmerdale fire scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Walsh put her body through “hardcore craziness” while filming Emmerdale’s factory fire.
The 32-year-old star’s alter-ego Tracy Metcalfe gets trapped in the building when a blazing inferno breaks out tonight (01.08.19), and the actress admits it was “hard work” shooting the intense scenes.
She said: “I was trapped in a studio for two days with smoke. It was all health and safety safe, but you did feel like you were next to open flames.
“You were blowing your nose and it was like being on the Underground.
“It was hardcore. Coughing and putting your body through that kind of craziness is hard work, but I love it.”
The fire will see one Emmerdale resident lose their life, and Amy admitted knowing one of the cast members were leaving added to the emotion of the plot.
She said: “It’s been a sad, emotional storyline because you know someone is going at the end of it, but at the same time wonderful because it’s such a big stunt and big episode that we’re all really proud of.”
Upon hearing about the factory fire storyline, Amy admits she wasn’t initially concerned about her character potentially meeting her maker because she doesn’t work at the factory, but she soon grew worried when she was told Tracy would be trapped in the building.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she added: “There is that thing that filters through the building where it is like, ‘There’s going to be a big fire, someone dies.’ And you’re like, ‘Oh.’
“Then you hear, ‘It’s at the factory,’ and you think, ‘Oh that’s fine, I don’t work anywhere near the factory. I am safe.’
“Then all of a sudden you’re like, ‘What? Tracy goes up there for something – why?’
“But for soap actors and any actors, no job lasts forever so you’ve just got to be glad of your time there and take it gracefully if it ends.”

Love Island’s Molly-Mae Hague defends herself after ‘two-faced’ comment

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Molly-Mae Hague has defended herself after being called “two-faced” by Belle Hassan.
The social media influencer and boyfriend Tommy Fury, 20, voted to send Anton Danyluk and Belle home during their time in the villa, which Belle later called “tactical”, but Molly-Mae has now admitted it was “a shame” to read such comments.
The 21-year-old make-up artist recently said: “I think Molly has too many opinions sometimes. I really get on with Molly, but she can be a little bit two-faced.”
Molly-Mae has now told The Sun Online: “It is a shame. Tommy and I will hopefully speak to Anton and Belle when we get out and chat about it.
“We had to pick a couple and it is hard. We did what we did and it was a joint decision from Tommy and I. There were absolutely no tactics involved whatsoever.”
Tommy – who is the younger brother of boxing champion Tyson Fury – insisted it was the voters’ decisions that saw Belle and Anton booted out.
He added: “We put Anton and Belle in the bottom three, but it was the public who voted Anton and Belle out.”
Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea were crowned the winners of this year’s ‘Love Island’ after being together for two weeks, even though Tommy and Molly-Mae were hot favourites to win the show for most of the series.
But the silver medal winners have insisted there were no hard feelings.
Molly-Mae said: “At the end of the day we weren’t in there to win. We came second and that’s incredible. We’re just so happy. We can’t stop smiling.
“We don’t care that we didn’t win. It’s not a big deal. Amber and Greg deserved it.”
The remaining eight islanders arrived back in the UK on Wednesday morning (31.07.2019) after being on lock down for a few days.

Love Island’s Michael Griffiths would snub ex Amber Gill all over again

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Michael Griffiths would snub ex Amber Gill all over again given the chance.
The 27-year-old fireman took to Instagram to admit he doesn’t think he made the wrong decision in choosing Joanna Chimonides over Amber, who went on to win the show with Greg O’Shea.
During a Q&A with Yewande Biala, a fan asked: “Now knowing what you know about every single Islander, who would you couple up with?”
Michael replied: “That’s a good question, I would still couple up with Joanna.”
The two got together when Michael picked Joanna after the original girls headed into second villa Casa Amor, instead of choosing to stay loyal to Amber.
He was then left single after he decided to stay in the show when Joanna was dumped from the island, resulting in her branding him “a snake” and ending their relationship.
Since leaving the villa, the pair were said to have been spotted smooching at Kisstory festival last weekend.
But Joanna took to Instagram to deny they were “snogging”, claiming it was a deceptive camera angle and that he was whispering something into her ear.
Michael is still “good friends” with Amber and would like to talk to her when the islanders are reunited for a follow-up show for ITV2.
Yewande added to the answer: “They’re really good friends. Everyone thinks they’re not but they’re actually really cool.”
Michael then said: “Of course I am [going to speak to Amber]. Of course, I will speak to her. I’ll see her at the reunion and we’ll speak then.”
Amber and Greg were victorious in a shock ‘Love Island’ win, beating Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who finished in second place.
The winning pair had only been together for two weeks.

Casualty will air double bill feature-length episode for series finale

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Casualty’ will air a double bill feature-length episode for its series finale this month.
The hit BBC medical drama will reach a dramatic conclusion on Saturday August 10 in a 90-minute episode which will see Amanda Mealing’s Connie Beauchamp forced to choose between her career and her addiction.
Connie’s recent storyline has seen the character alienate friends and colleagues after becoming addicted to diazepam while attempting to combat her increasing anxiety, and Amanda, 52, recently described her alter-ego’s actions as “broken and desperate”.
She told Metro.co.uk: “Connie is broken, desperate and not herself.
“By the time we get to the double episode, things come to a head and we will see how affected Connie is by the whole thing.
“What we will see in that double episode is the fact that an addict’s addiction not only affects them but the wider group around them.
“The chaos that ensures because of her pursuit of her drug of choice – this is it. These are the consequences; there’s a huge fallout.”
It was recently announced on Twitter that Amanda will be taking a break from her role as Connie.
And while she’s leaving the character behind for now, she will definitely return in the future.
A BBC spokesperson said at the time: “As is common with long-running cast members, Amanda is taking a well-deserved break from filming with Casualty and will return in the autumn.”

Vogue Williams tipped to win on jockey debut

OHMYGOSSIP — Vogue Williams has been tipped to win on her jockey debut.
The 33-year-old DJ and TV presenter is set to compete in charity race the Magnolia Cup at the Glorious Goodwood festival on Thursday (01.08.19) and form experts at Racing Post have tipped Vogue for victory.
Vogue is set to compete against stars including Luisa Zissman and Victoria Pendleton but she could emerge as the winner thanks to her trusty steed, which has won more times than any other horse in the prestigious charity race.
Indeed, Vogue’s horse had a comfortable win over the same course and distance as today in May of this year.
In total her horse Bom Bom has won on six occasions during his career, whilst boasting three runs at Goodwood where experience is vital, especially for an amateur jockey like Vogue.
Vogue’s horse has been trained by horse trainer, Richard Fahey, and will run as The Magic Sign in the race.
Vogue – who welcomed her son Theodore with husband Spencer Matthews 10 months ago – has been training for the big day for the last four months.
However, it has not been all plain sailing for the star as she had to get 12 stitches after falling off her horse last month.
She told The Sun: “I did have an accident, it looks pretty rank now but it’s fine. I got a bit of a fright to be honest, it was quite a bad fall.
“I got 12 stitches so I was a bit nervous. I kind of got my confidence back in Jim’s [racehorse trainer Jim Boyle] because I ride some of my favourite horses up here, so it’s been nice to get out.
“I’ve worked so hard towards this one thing so I’m like let’s just do it, and get it out of the way. You can only do as well as you can do.
“I think I’ve come a long way since I’ve first started so I’m pretty happy with that.”

Jamie Bell couldn’t shake off ‘hostile energy’ of Skin character

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Bell found it difficult to shake off the “hostile energy” of his character in ‘Skin’.
The 33-year-old actor stars in the biographical drama as former skinhead group member Bryon Widner, the co-founder of a violent white power group in Indiana called Vinlanders Social Club, who marries a woman called Julie Larsen who – with the help of a black rights activist – helps him turn his back on hate and leave his own organisation.
Jamie confessed that although he can usually disassociate himself from his roles, he found it tough to separate himself from the “angry, standoffish, hostile tight energy” of his alter ego.
In an interview with The Beat, he said: “I always like to think that being an actor, you always can check the role at the door. You take the costume off and you walk off the set and then it’s easy to kind of drop it.
“I did think that I was doing a good job of that. It wasn’t until about a week later once production was done, I was back home and my wife one day was like, ‘Can you just go take a walk or go run it off?’
“I think I was just carrying around this hostile energy. This angry, standoffish, hostile tight energy that I think when you’re in the mix of a small movie like this especially, there’s no real-time to turn off doing many scenes a day.
“There’s no luxury of time. You’re just in the thick of it. I thought I was actually doing okay, but she disagreed. Just walking around with that attitude just can’t be good for you.”
