OHMYGOSSIP — Rochelle and Marvin Humes have signed up to present a second series of ‘The Hit List’.
The couple’s popular Saturday night music quiz show has been commissioned for a return to BBC One after a successful first outing earlier this year, and the pair are “buzzing” to be back as hosts for another run.
They said: “We are absolutely buzzing that series two of ‘The Hit List’ has been commissioned.
“We’ve been overwhelmed with all the support and positive reaction to a show that we have so much fun making. We’re so pleased that everyone loves it as much as we do and can’t wait for it to be back on screen again!”
The show sees three couples competing each week for the chance to win a £10,000 prize – by naming as many songs and artists as possible under intense pressure.
Marvin, 33 and his wife Rochelle, 29, were both in successful pop bands – JLS and The Saturdays – before turning towards presenting and have gone on to co-host on ‘This Morning’ on occasions.
The first series of ‘The Hit List’ proved to be a huge success, and the team are excited to start work on the next season.
Executive producer Karen Smith said: “The ratings for ‘The Hit List’ were great, the recommission even better, but the best bit was hearing how families were coming together to watch and play along with the show. Genuinely shared viewing. I love it when a plan comes together.”
The Beeb was also delighted the show was uniting families in the name of entertainment, and hailed its “energy”.
Kate Phillips, controller of entertainment commissioning at the BBC, added: “‘The Hit List’ has a tremendous amount of energy and is a lot of fun too.
“I love the fact that families can join in with the action and play along from the comfort of their own homes, making it the perfect way to kick off Saturday nights with BBC One.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Hayley Tamaddon reunited with the ‘Coronation Street’ cast at Brooke Vincent’s baby shower.
The 42-year-old actress – who is pregnant with her first child with estate agent partner Adrian – joined her former ITV soap co-stars at the event at Manchester’s Rosso restaurant over the weekend, and revealed she has “missed” being able to have a “good old catch up” with her former cobbles co-stars.
Writing on Twitter, Hayley wrote: “Had such a gorgeous day @BrookeLVincent baby shower.. I got to sit with my Corrie mates who I really miss, and have a good old catch up. Thanks @KatiexMcGlynn for driving me and for the chats! And so lovely to talk all things baby with @jenniemcalpine and @Cath_Tyldesley (sic)”
Brooke – who has played Sophie Webster on the ITV soap since 2004 – is expecting her first child with her footballer boyfriend Kean Bryan.
She was accompanied at the event by her fellow co-star Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) and several former Weatherfield favourites including Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre), Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) and Catherine Tyldesley (Eva Price).
This news comes as Brooke previously admitted she has “struggled” with the “day-to-day changes of pregnancy”.
Posting on her Instagram Stories, she said: “I really struggled and still do with the day-to-day changes of pregnancy and I want people to know that as much as it’s nice to hear such lovely comments about my pictures that they are professional or I’ve been stood there for 10 mins trying to get a good picture!
“Pregnancy can be so overwhelming especially when you don’t feel amazing and see girls on Instagram looking like they are breezing through it!
“With the pressure of social media, and the natural worries of growing a baby I just want to let you know that I feel ya!!! (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Duncan James’ dog has died.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor – who played Ryan Knight for two years on the Channel 4 soap until 2018 – revealed the sad news on Monday (05.08.19) as he shared a snap of his “beloved” pooch Jack and confirmed the family pet had to be “put to sleep” this week.
Alongside the heart-breaking photo, the 41-year-old star heaped praise on his mother Fiona for taking care of their canine during his poor health.
He tweeted: “Our beloved family dog Jacque (jack) was sadly put to sleep today.
“@flitwicker was the best mummy ever to him and is very sad but his health deteriorated due to his diabetes and blindness. May he rip #loveyoujack (sic)”
Duncan’s mum set up a fundraiser last month after the Yorkshire Terrier was diagnosed with diabetes, which in turn meant he went “totally blind within a week”.
Fiona was quoted the cost of £5,000 per eye for a cataract operation, with the family looking for any chance of saving their pooch.
She wrote on the GoFundMe page at the time: “I do not have this kind of money but desperately want to give jack the chance to restore his precious eyesight as its breaking my heart to see him so disorientated in his own home that hes known for so long!
“Jack has been a constant companion to me, he is the sweetest loveliest dog one could ever wish for. (sic)”
Last week, Fiona revealed the tragic news that Jack wouldn’t be able to undergo the procedure.
She tweeted: “Very sad to say, my dog jack will no longer be able to have the operation on his eyes due to the decline of his health and the vets advice.
“Therefore I will be refunding everyone that kindly donated. Thankyou for your generosity for the people that supported me and jack. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Marnie Simpson has been craving bath sponges during her pregnancy.
The 27-year-old star is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Casey Johnson – who she met while filming MTV reality show ‘Single AF’ two years ago – but she has even become picky about which type of sponges she likes to suck water out of.
She said: “I’ve been craving bath sponges. I like sucking the water out of them.”
Casey added: “It’s a weird craving. I actually have a video of her doing it.
“I literally bought her some sponges the other day but she said they weren’t the right ones, so I’ve got to let her buy her own now.”
Marnie – who found fame on ‘Geordie Shore’ – is due to give birth on October 16, and while she admits her pregnancy has been relatively stress-free, she is ready for her baby to arrive.
She said: “In the beginning I suffered with nausea, but since getting past 20 weeks I’ve been a lot better. Considering how bad some people’s pregnancies are, I think it’s been alright.
“I feel so swollen and bloated, I can’t wait for him to arrive now.”
Casey, 24, says they’re both “so excited” about their impeding arrival and were “over the moon” when they found out they were having a boy.
Speaking in a joint interview with new! magazine, he added: “I’d be lying to you if I said I didn’t want a boy.
“I want to have a little girl as well. I want a boy and a girl. But if we have another boy I think I’d go for the third.”
Marnie added: “I want two little boys and a little girl. I think that’s really cute.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are starring in new series ‘Truth Seekers’.
The comedy duo – who co-wrote and starred in the ‘Three Flavours Cornetto’ trilogy of movies, consisting of ‘Shaun of the Dead’, ‘Hot Fuzz’, and ‘The World’s End’ – are launching a brand-new horror-comedy show for Amazon Prime Video under the production company Stolen Picture, which they share with Miles Ketley.
The show will follow a team of part-time paranormal investigators with homemade ghost-detecting gizmos who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK, sharing their adventures on an online channel for all to see.
However, as they stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers and abandoned hospitals, their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, more terrifying and even deadly, as they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could bring about Armageddon for the entire human race.
Simon, 49, insisted that he and Nick can’t wait to return to the smaller screen – where the pair began their partnership with the Channel 4 sitcom ‘Spaced’ – and feels the new show is set to be “something very special”.
He said: “Nick and I are delighted that ‘Truth Seekers’ has found a home with Amazon Prime Video.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special.
“These are truly exciting times for television and I can’t think of a better partner than Amazon to accompany us on a return to the smaller screen.”

OHMYGOSSIP — MTV have confirmed Charlotte Dawson is to host her own dating show.
The 26-year-old TV presenter will front ‘Love Squad’, which will see singles going on dates before picking their perfect match.
The show will see one singleton each week going on three dates, and one date will be chosen themselves, one will be chosen by the “Love Squad” and one will be chosen by the ‘Ex On The Beach’ star herself.
Joining Charlotte with their very own Love Squad will be Love Island’s Kendall Rae-Knight, fitness guru Charlie King and MTV’s Lateysha Grace.
Charlotte – who is the daughter of late comedian Les Dawson – is well known to MTV having starred on ‘Ex On The Beach’.
She will also part of the line-up for the forthcoming reboot of MTV’s ‘Cribs’.
Also among the celebrities giving viewers a sneak peek of their homes is former ‘TOWIE’ star Joey Essex, and Love Island’s Olivia Buckland and her husband Alex Bowen will appear on the programme to introduce fans to their house and two dogs, Winnie and Reggie.
What’s more, Gemma Collins is among the stars who will feature, taking fans on a tour of her Brentwood pad in the reboot, and the MTV cameras will become familiar with Essex as the county’s natives Jess Wright and Megan McKenna will also appear on the programme.
‘Love Squad’ premieres on August 19th on MTV.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh has praised Beverley Callard for speaking out after going through a “tough time”.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress admits it is “so important” for people like her cobbles co-star – who recently admitted she had to take two weeks off while battling “horrific demons” – to talk openly if they are suffering from mental health issues.
Writing in her OK! magazine column, Kym (Michelle Connor) said: “I’ve seen her at work and she seems well, but I know she’s gone through a tough time.
“Mental health is a serious issue – many people suffer in silence – so I think it’s so important when people like Bev speak out. It makes people feel they’re not alone.”
Kym’s comments come after Bev – who plays Liz McDonald in the ITV soap – praised the NHS and ‘Corrie’ after she spent two weeks off battling “the black dog”.
She tweeted: “First day back at work yesterday, been battling the horrific demons and black dog for two weeks. I am fortunate enough to have a great NHS Dr EARLY INTERVENTION IS NECESSARY!
Should be available for EVERYONE this is vital. I can’t talk about this when I’m in the black hole xxx (sic)”
In February, Bev assured her fans depression can be managed with “the right professional help”.
She wrote: “Somebody once said to me “you’ve had clinical depression, you may be flaky and unreliable!” I wasn’t before, I’m not now! Depression CAN be managed with the right professional help! We must fight for everyone to be able to have that!

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Crouch has turned down ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ several times.
The retired soccer star’s wife Abbey Clancy won the BBC One show in 2013, along with her professional dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec, and he has revealed the producers tried to get him to sign up “a lot” – but he has no interest in swapping the pitch for the ballroom.
Peter told Metro.co.uk: “I’ve had offers obviously with what happened with the podcast and the book and others.
“I dipped my toe in because I’m 38, my football isn’t going to last forever so I was trying other things.
“I did my coaching badges and I started doing media kind of work, and yeah I do get offered things but I’ve turned down a lot.”
On whether he declined to appear on the show, he replied: “Yeah. Things like that.
“Because I was going to watch [Abbey], they were asking me all the time.”
Peter – who has Sophia, eight, Liberty, four, Johnny, 20 months, and Jack, two months, with the model – has decided to turn his talents to writing novels and is looking forward to the prospect of the “serious business of writing”.
He said recently: “I’ve decided to move into the world of literature. It just feels nice to write. I bounce ideas off people – mostly the kids’ toys. It’s time to get down to the serious business of writing.”
Peter is also in talks for his own TV show following the success of his podcast.
A TV insider said: “BBC bigwigs want him to front his own show, most likely with a fun football backdrop, with the same kind of fun and banter. The podcast has been a huge hit, with listening figures through the roof. Peter’s really come into his own, with his effortless jokes and hilarious anecdotes.”
Peter retired from soccer earlier this year, at the age of 38.
He said at the time of his retirement: “I have had 23 years to prepare for this moment but, now it is here, you realise nothing can prepare you at all. The time has come to refer to myself as a ‘former footballer’; this incredible journey I have been on since I was 16 is over. My ambition was to play until I was 40, so it is scary saying the word ‘retirement’. It has left me emotional and it feels weird not to be preparing for a new campaign but circumstances over the last couple of seasons have made me realise that this is the right thing to do. To go from being a regular starter to someone whose role is limited to 10 or 15 minutes off the bench has been hard to accept. I will be 39 in January but I am physically fit and could have carried on. What I didn’t want to be was someone who was thrown on to have balls smashed up to them.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ bosses are said to be holding back from making a spin-off about this year’s winners in case they split up before the show airs.
Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea triumphed in this year’s final over long-term favourites Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, but with the couple yet to even confirm they are in an official relationship producers are said to be reluctant to shoot a programme about the pair.
An insider said: “It’s been a publicity disaster in previous years, when couples split before their show aired or appeared to get back together just as the programmes came out.”
Last year’s winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham landed spin-off ‘Jack & Dani: Life After Love Island’ but the pair split in December, shortly before the show broadcast in January, before reconciling, and they eventually confirmed their break-up in April.
‘Love Island’ bosses are said to be concentrating on the upcoming winter ‘Love Island’, after ITV confirmed there will be two series of the show on air next year.
The source added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Instead they are focusing on winter ‘Love Island’ and want to nail the casting for that series.
“Of course, they’re keeping a close eye on their couples to spot any potential for spin-off shows, but at the moment it’s certainly not looking likely.”
The show will move to South Africa for a winter sun version in 2020, and return to Europe for another series later next year.
Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels and acquisitions at ITV, recently said: “Off the back of a record-breaking year, we’re delighted to be bringing an extra series of our biggest and sunniest show to the 2020 schedule.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Chan is in talks to join ‘The Eternals’.
The ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ star is no stranger to a Marvel movie after portraying Minn-Erva in ‘Captain Marvel’, and she is expected to join forces with the likes of Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden on the upcoming motion picture.
However, sources have indicated she may play an entirely different character.
Should she sign up to the movie, it could mark one of the first times a star has taken on two different roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Chan would also appear alongside Salma Hayek and Kumail Nanjiani in the movie, which will follow fictional species the Eternals, who are offshoots of the evolutionary process and were intended to be the Earth’s defenders, which sees them do battle with the Deviants.
Scarlett Johansson – who is getting her own ‘Black Widow’ film – recently admitted she is delighted Jolie has followed in her footsteps by joining the MCU.
She said: “It was amazing. I mean, there’s a lot of women that I hugely admire – Angelina, Salma … Rachel, Tessa … Natalie. It’s bananas. I think it’s very exciting.
“I think it grounds the presence of the MCU in a way. It’s very exciting to see such a diverse group of people. It’s awesome. And it’s about time.”
Rachel Weisz will appear in Johansson’s ‘Black Widow’ film, and Natalie Portman, who played Thor’s love interest Jane Foster in the first two ‘Thor’ films, will star as a female Thor in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria “couldn’t say no” to ‘Dora and the Lost City of Gold’.
The 44-year-old actress – who plays the titular character Dora The Explorer’s mother Elena in the adventure film – had not long given birth to her son Santiago when she began filming, but she wasn’t going to let anything stop her taking on the role because she felt it was a great opportunity to represent Latino’s.
Eva admitted: “I didn’t really have a choice. I could’ve said no, but I couldn’t.
“I literally could not have said no to this movie.
“The opportunity that this movie provided, not only for me, but for my community and for people who look like me, I was like, I have to do this movie.”
On having to move her life to Australia for filming temporarily, she added to TooFab: “‘We’re gonna do this.
“We’re taking the family, we’re taking everybody to Australia, and we’re gonna do this.
“And you guys are gonna be there, and you’re gonna support me, and you’re gonna be happy, and you’re gonna like it!’ And they did!”
The former ‘Desperate Housewives’ star – who has her little boy with husband José ‘Pepe’ Bastón – previously revealed she had to breastfeed her son in the jungle on the movie set when he was just two months old.
She said: “It was the first time being a mom and playing a mom and having a kid. I was breastfeeding so I had to [have him on set].”
When Eva found out about the project she had to be a part of it because it is “authentically Latin” and Latino characters are not being added in to “check a box”.
She shared: “It’s so important. It’s the reason why I wanted to do the movie. It’s authentically Latin.
“There’s no check the box, let’s insert Latino character here. It’s Dora, she’s Latina. Of course her parents would be Latino and then her friend Diego, he’s Latino. And they have a grandma. It’s not forced upon you. No one’s hitting you on the head with a tortilla.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy McConnell has quit fame to become the director of a Turkish hair transplant clinic.
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star has turned his back on life in the limelight and he will instead take up the position of UK director for Hair Of Istanbul alongside the company’s CEO M. Fatih Akdemir.
He told The Sun Online: “I am really excited to be part of such a fantastic team and to work with M. Fatih Akdemir, who undertook my own hair and beard transplants.
“He has become like a brother to me.”
The 29-year-old star added the new venture is an “exciting opportunity” as he continues to “overcome” tough times over the past few years.
He said: “I feel that I have worked hard to overcome all the difficulties I have faced over the last few years.
“I now feel I have an exciting opportunity for me and my family.”
An insider explained the move comes from the model choosing to find “focus and stability” for him and his family.
The source said: “Jeremy decided he needed a focus and stability following his recovery and upon trying to maintain security for his family.”
His announcement comes after it was revealed last month that the tattooed star – who has son Caben-Albi, two, with ex Stephanie Davis – and his girlfriend Katie McCreath are expecting their first child together, with their baby due in December.
An insider said at the time: “Katie has really supported Jeremy through the tough times and helped him grow as a person. Anyone who knows Jeremy knows that having a family and being a dad is a dream he has always wanted.”
Jeremy recently admitted he feels “sick” when he looks back at his past mistakes, as he opened up about his problems with cocaine abuse, describing the Class A drug as “the devil”.
He said: “I feel sick when I look back at myself, I’m so ashamed. I was p***ing money up against the wall to get that buzz. I was only focused on was good looking women and drink.
“Then I was offered cocaine when I was 20 at a party and it took over. I remember the feeling it gave me, it was a buzz.
“I didn’t even start drinking until I was 18 as I was so into my football and fitness but cocaine was easy to fall into as it was everywhere – I didn’t have to go to any lengths to get it as it was so cheap and easy to get. I started using it more and more.”
Jeremy was jailed for 34 days over Christmas 2017 for breaching a community order, and he was previously given a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, after he was found guilty of assaulting his then-partner, ‘Hollyoaks’ star Stephanie.

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Baker enlisted security guards for his tour after getting sacked by the BBC over a controversial tweet.
The 62-year-old radio DJ – who was fired from Radio 5 Live back in May for posting a picture of a chimpanzee in a suit following the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s baby Archie – performed live gigs days after his departure, and fears over backlash meant his team had to take “extra” measures for his protection.
Speaking on James O’Brien’s ‘Full Disclosure’ podcast, he said: “They laid on extra security … I was told there might be protests. There wasn’t.
“You can get into that mentality where you think everyone’s now waiting to throw a rock at you. I got one bit of hate mail.”
Danny has repeatedly apologised for the scandal and denied any allegations of racism, insisting he was trying to make a joke about class.
He has now hit back at those responsible for sacking him.
Danny added: “I’d hate to go to watch a film with these people who fired me.
“They’d watch the opening scene, where someone’s in a locked room holding a smoking gun, there’s a body on the floor and they’d say, ‘Shall we go? We’ve seen who’s done it.’ ”
Following the immediate backlash, Danny tweeted an apology after deleting the offending post and said the offensive meaning behind it “never occurred” to him.
He later “formally apologised” in a string of tweets and attempted to explain his “awful gaffe” admitting that he “f****d up” and is “not feeling sorry for [himself]”.
Danny wrote: “Following one of the worst days of my life I just want to formally apologise for the outrage I caused and explain how I got myself into this mess.
“I chose the wrong photo to illustrate a joke. Disastrously so.
“Deleting it immediately and apologising for the awful gaffe I even foolishly tried to make light of it. (My situation that is, not the racism involved.) Too late and here I am.
“I would like once and for all to apologise to every single person who, quite naturally, took the awful connection at face value. I understand that and all of the clamour and opprobrium I have faced since. I am not feeling sorry for myself. I fucked up. Badly.
“But it was a genuine, naive and catastrophic mistake.
“The picture in context as presented was obviously shamefully racist. It was never intended so – seriously who on earth would ‘go there’?
“Anyway i am now paying the price for this crass & regrettable blunder and rightly so. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Saffron Barker thinks her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner will “hate her” because she will not want to stop training for the show.
The YouTuber feels like the “luckiest girl alive” after she was confirmed as one of this year’s celebrity contestants, and she is determined to work her “absolute socks off” during the “hard” training sessions.
She said: “I think my partner is going to hate me, because I will not want to leave that training studio.
“I want to work my absolute socks off, be the absolute best that I can be.
“I’m so excited for everybody to come on this journey with me.
“I’m so grateful, I feel like the luckiest girl alive. I can’t wait for everything.
“I’m excited to learn a new skill, I’m excited for all the glitz and glam.

Saffron’s mum added: “I feel like an emotional wreck just thinking about it. I’m so excited!”
Speaking in a vlog on her YouTube channel SaffronBarkerVloggs, the star added: “When you first tell someone it’s such a big shock to the system.
“My grandparents are always watching it and I think their immediate reactions were shock.”

The ‘Emma Willis: Delivering Babies’ presenter has revealed she’s completed everything she needs to become an MCA thanks to the show.
Speaking on ‘The One Show’, the former ‘Big Brother’ host said: “I’ve completed my whole training so I am a qualified Maternity Care Assistant with a certificate.
“I’ve put in the hours, I’ve put in the shifts, I’ve done all the practical work and what we didn’t get to finish last series was the written work.

The paperwork – which includes a 15-module test – was a crucial part of becoming certified, so Emma had to finish it off.
She added: “It had to be all or nothing, it had to be fully immersive so full shifts, full hours because I wanted to do it justice because it was such a massive part of my life that it had to be real.”
Emma now has an option for work for after the cameras stop rolling, because she didn’t have qualifications prior to the UKTV series.
She told Digital Spy: “There will come a time when this isn’t my job anymore, I’m sure, and I’m going to have to do something.
“So at least I have a qualification, because I didn’t bloody have any before.”
Emma has been hands-on with every task presented to her.
Tasks usually include mopping blood, preparing equipment for childbirth, and providing general care for both mother and baby.
She added: “[When] you see [the babies] grow and get better, and come out of that incubator, and go to special care, where they’re a little bit more independent, and they’re getting better, and getting to go back to their families and stuff. It’s amazing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Serkis is officially on board to direct ‘Venom 2’.
The 55-year-old actor – who was at the helm for 2018’s ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’ – has been confirmed to take the reins from Ruben Fleischer on Sony’s ‘Venom’ sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Fleischer directed the first ‘Venom’ movie – which starred Tom Hardy as the titular symbiote and its alter ego Eddie Brock – but announced earlier this year he was not planning to return for the sequel.
The original film followed made as much as $856 million at the global box office and Sony is determined to start shooting the follow-up before the end of the year, with the company reportedly hoping to begin production work in November.
It was confirmed by producer Amy Pascal that Hardy, 41, will be reprising his role as Eddie Brock in the new movie, which is set for release in 2020.
She previously said: “I can say that Tom Hardy will be back, magnificently playing that character as no one else can.”
The ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ producer went on to explain that she feels the first was such a commercial success thanks to both Sony “giving it a life” as well as the ‘Peaky Blinders’ star’s memorable performance in the role.
She added: “It’s a couple of things. One of them is that Sony did a great job creating that franchise and giving it a life and giving it its own world. Then there’s Tom Hardy.
“When you think of Venom, you’ll never be able to think of anyone but Tom Hardy sitting in that bathtub of lobsters. And once you saw Tom Hardy do this character, that’s all you needed to know.”
Pascal hinted she has “big plans” for Hardy’s Venom to clash with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the near future in a Marvel and Sony Pictures crossover that brings them together on screen.
She said: “We have big plans for Tom Holland to be a part of everything.”
