OHMYGOSSIP — Tamara Taylor and Reece Noi are set to star in ‘Marzipan’.
The 48-year-old actress – who is best known for her role as Dr. Camille Saroyan in the forensic crime drama ‘Bones’ – has boarded the new independent drama alongside Noi, 31, who rose to fame playing Earl Kelly in the BBC school drama ‘Waterloo Road’ and recently portrayed Mossador in HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’.
The film will be helmed by Adam Christian Clark form his own script and will follow the story of an alcoholic intelligence officer (Taylor) who is given the chance to redeem herself with one last mission, romancing an asset connected to the Saudi Royal Family (Noi).
However when the pair bond over their troubled pasts, the two form a unique partnership and plot to escape their troubled lives together.
‘Marzipan’ is being financed and co-produced by Molly C. Quinn, Matthew M. Welty and Elan Gale under their QWGmire company and it will be their debut feature.
David Grove Churchill Viste, Quinn, and Jordan Michaud-Scorza produce while Welty, Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath and Zac Locke will serve as executive producers on the project.
Tamara last appeared as Oumou Prescott in the science fiction Netflix series ‘Altered Carbon’ and will next be seen on screen in the new comic book adaptation of IDW’s October Faction for the streaming service.
The show will follow globetrotting monster hunters Fred and Deloris Allen who return to their hometown in upstate New York with their teenage children Geoff and Viv after the death of Fred’s father.
Reece was last seen in the hit Netflix miniseries ‘ When They See Us’ which is based on the real life events of the 1989 Central Park jogger case.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Quickenden has joined ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 30-year-old star – who has appeared on the likes of ‘The X Factor’ and ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in the past – has spent her first day filming on set for scenes set to air later this year.
He said: “It’s very exciting and it’s a privilege. ‘Hollyoaks’ is such an amazing show and it’s been around for so long; to be asked to come and have a role on it, it’s amazing.
“I’m really happy. I’ve had a great day and everyone’s so sound. It’s nice to arrive somewhere new and know someone like Steph [Waring] too, she’s made it really easy to fit in.”
Jake shot scenes on Tuesday (06.08.19) with Steph (Cindy Cunningham) – who he worked with on ‘Dancing On Ice’ last year – and her co-star and on-screen sibling Ellis Hollins (Tom Cunningham).
His character is set to appear during the soap’s huge stunt week in October, although further details are yet to be revealed.
Jake will also film with Nick Pickard, Ashley Taylor Dawson, Sarah Jayne Dunn and Gary Lucy as part of these episodes.
Last year, Jake revealed he’d been in talks with ‘Hollyoaks’ about joining the cast, and he started taking acting lessons to really capture the attention of producers.
He said at the time: “I’ve been doing that for the past two years. After ‘I’m A Celebrity’ I wanted to add another string to my bow.
“I have spoken to ‘Hollyoaks’ and they’ve said they like me. If a role did come up, then I’d snap their hand off. Danny Miller from ‘Emmerdale’ is a good mate of mine and he’s been giving me some advice. And I spoke to [‘Corrie’ star] Brooke Vincent during ‘Dancing On Ice’ and she said to just go for it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Anneka Rice has been confirmed for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The award winning broadcaster has become the 15th celebrity announced for the upcoming series of the BBC Latin and ballroom competition, and she admitted she is pushing far out of her comfort zone by taking on the challenge.
She said: “I haven’t danced since I was 7 and Miss Beer sent me home from my ballet class because I was hopelessly uncoordinated.
“My family and friends haven’t seen me dance since, not at a wedding or round a handbag so it’s going to be a challenge for my partner. In fact I’ve asked for two, one on each side.”
The 60-year-old star – who rose to fame as the Sky-Runner in Channel 4’s ‘Treasure Hunt’ and went on to present the likes of ‘Sporting Chance’, ‘Wish You Were Here’, ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ and the Royal Variety Performance – also joked the sparkly outfits will be a world away from her everyday life.
She teased: “I can’t see myself in a long frilly dress either. But I’m feeling recklessly excited. ‘Strictly’ has always been my autumn’s entertainment and now I’m part of it! My children will probably leave the country.”
As well as television, Anneka presented the BBC Radio 2 Saturday Breakfast Show from 2012 to 2017, and she fronted the award-winning podcast ‘Fortunately’.
Meanwhile, she is also a patron of Help For Heroes, Operation Encompass and Horatio’s Garden.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Deadpool 3’ may have a lower age rating.
Rob Liefeld, the creator of the Marvel comic books and subsequent ‘X-Men’ film series of the same name, has revealed that despite the first two films in the franchise being R-rated int he US, the third edition of the series doesn’t “necessarily” have to be the same to maintain the superhero’s brand.
Speaking to Yahoo Movies UK, Leitch said: “It’s rated R so that’s not necessarily the brand but he doesn’t necessarily need to be R and [Disney] don’t necessarily need to only make PG-13 movies, I think we’ll find a happy ground.”
The filmmaker went on to explain that following Fox merging with Disney earlier this year, there has been “mystery” around the future of the franchise, which stars Ryan Reynolds as lead anti-hero Wade Wilson, however the director insisted all his feedback has been ” positive”.
He said: “There’s a lot of mystery still surrounding what they want to do with ‘Deadpool’ in [Disney’s] Marvel world but I think, from discussions that I’ve heard, it’s all positive. I think that they’re just trying to figure a way in as Deadpool’s hard.”
This news comes after Rob recently reassured fans that ‘Deadpool 3’ will “totally happen” and he is adamant that he will start working on the next movie “soon”.
Speaking to a fan on Twitter, he said: “It will totally happen!!! Soon! (sic)”
And this isn’t the first time he has told fans that there’s a third movie on the cards.
He said earlier this year: “Nothing like deadlines to clear your head… let me be clear Deadpool 3 will happen, some form, some fashion.
“That’s not a concern to me. Disney paid $60 billion for Fox and Deadpool is most valuable asset in today’s market. Makes more than X-Men films. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Leonardo DiCaprio knew Margot Robbie would be a success after seeing her audition for ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.
The 44-year-old actor starred alongside the 29-year-old actress in Martin Scorsese’s 2013 biographical drama based around the life of criminal stockbroker Jordan Belfort and insisted that upon seeing the Australian star’s “dynamic presence” while reading a scene, both he and the acclaimed director were “blown away”.
Speaking on Australian TV show ‘The Sunday Project’, he said: “On ‘Wolf of Wall Street’, seeing Margot come in and read that scene with me I just knew I was witnessing a dynamic presence in cinema that was about to be.
“[Martin] Scorcese and myself were blown away by how much she gave back to the scene, fought back and we both immediately knew she was going to have an incredible career.”
‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ marked the first collaboration between Leonardo and Margot, who recently starred together in Quentin Tarantino’s latest film, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ which explores life in Hollywood at the end of the 1960s.
Leonardo stars as a washed-up TV actor Rick Dalton alongside Brad Pitt’s stunt double alter ego Cliff Booth Dalton while Margot plays real-life late actress Sharon Tate.
The Hollywood star was eight-and-a-half months pregnant with her and husband Roman Polanski’s (Rafał Zawierucha) son when she was murdered by members of the notorious Manson Family cult, led by Charles Manson, in August 1969. Four other people were also killed in the horrific attacks.
Speaking of the role Margot recently said: “Sharon embodies the best parts of the ’60s. This is a celebration of her life. And you get a lot of hang time with her in this film.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kyle Pryor found it “psychologically challenging” playing Hollyoaks’ Laurie Shelby.
The 30-year-old star’s evil character was killed off last night (07.08.19) when he died of a head injury, bringing an end to his reign of terror – which included raping his wife Sinead Shelby, played by Steph Davis – and the actor hopes he did the hard-hitting plot “justice”.
He said: “The storyline dealt with a very sensitive subject matter that affects people in real life, and I understood the gravity of that.
“I hope I was able to do it justice in regards to raising awareness and encouraging anyone in an abusive situation to come forward. It was psychologically challenging tackling a character like this.”
Kyle – who previously played Dr. Nate Cooper in Aussie soap ‘Home and Away’ – hasn’t been recognised while out and about since he stopped filming after growing a “substantial beard”, but admits viewers have been “complimentary” to him on social media.
He said: “I’ve grown quite a substantial beard since I stopped filming and have a good cap collection, so no one knows it’s me when I’m out and about!
“The public have been complimentary on social media in regards to how the storyline has been handled and the characters have been portrayed, along with the great work Steph Davis, Anna Passey and Alex Fletcher did. It was a pleasure to act alongside all of them.”
After starring in two soaps, Kyle admits he would like to take his acting career in a “slightly different direction”, but he wouldn’t ever rule out a return to Soapland.
He added to RadioTimes.com: “I take each part on a situational basis, but I think having played two very different characters in the same genre I would like to move in a slightly different direction now, just for a new challenge.
“But I’d never write anything off and I’m open to all opportunities.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lin Blakley looks set to return to ‘EastEnders’ for a short stint.
The 70-year-old actress has played Pam Coker on and off since 2014, and she is preparing to head back to Albert Square “soon” to reprise her role for “a couple of episodes”.
She said: “I love going back. I’m going back soon. Just for a couple of episodes and I love it. I love popping back. I’m so happy and pleased that I’m able to do that.
“I haven’t been back for a year but I’m going back for a couple of episodes, so that is wonderful.”
Lin is grateful to ‘EastEnders’ for giving her the role as Pam, admitting the part “opened a few doors” for her as an actress.
She added to Express.co.uk: “I absolutely love everything about it. I’m glad they chose me because it certainly opened a few more doors for me as an actress.
“Coming back into the business at the end of 2003 I didn’t quite expect to do something like this.
“Being in people’s homes four nights a week. I can’t tell you how thankful I am for that.”
Pam first appeared in Walford as the wife of Les Coker (Roger Sloman) in April 2014 but the two characters departed Albert Square in October 2016 following the death of their grandson Paul Coker (Jonny Labey), who was killed off in a homophobic attack a month earlier.
Lin has since returned for a number of guest appearances, in May 2017, June 2017 and in February 2018.

OHMYGOSSIP — Halle Bailey thinks her role in ‘The Little Mermaid’ is “something bigger” than her.
The 19-year-old singer-and-actress has ignored the backlash against her casting in the remake because she’d rather not listen to “negativity” about the fact she is black and not pale skinned and red haired like the animated Ariel and she believes the movie will be “beautiful”.
She told Variety: “I feel like I’m dreaming, and I’m just grateful.
“I don’t pay attention to the negativity. I just feel like this role was something bigger than me and greater, and it’s going to be beautiful.”
It was recently claimed Javier Bardem is in talks to play King Triton, Ariel’s father, in the movie, while Melissa McCarthy has openly spoken of her interest in portraying Ursula the sea witch, and Harry Styles has been linked with the role of Prince Eric.
Awkwafina and Jacob Tremblay are also said to be in talks for roles in the Rob Marshall-helmed reboot, with the ‘Ocean’s 8’ actress set to portray Scuttle the seagull, and the 12-year-old actor will lend his voice to the role of faithful fish friend Flounder.
‘The Little Mermaid’ tells the story of a young mermaid named Ariel who is fascinated with life on land and on one of her visits to the surface, meets and falls in love with Prince Eric.
Determined to be with her love, Ariel makes a deal with the evil Ursula to exchange her beautiful voice for human legs, but she must seal the deal with a kiss within three days, or she will lose her voice forever.
In the original movie, King Triton disapproves of his daughter’s interest in life above water, but is forced to come to Ariel’s aid when her deal with Ursula doesn’t go according to plan.

OHMYGOSSIP — Wesley Snipes is set to star in ‘Coming 2 America’.
The 57-year-old star has joined forces with Eddie Murphy to appear in the hotly-anticipated sequel to 1988’s ‘Coming to America’.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Snipes will play a new character, General Izzi.
Murphy is to reprise his role as Prince Akeem, a prince from a fictional African nation who travels to New York to try to escape an arranged marriage and find a wife.
The new film – which will see Arsenio Hall return as Akeem’s best friend – will see the prince head back to the US to try to track down his long-lost son.
Craig Brewer will direct the project for Paramount, and Murphy will produce alongside Kevin Misher and Kenya Barris.
Murphy said in a statement: “After many years of anticipation, I’m thrilled that ‘Coming to America 2’ is officially moving forward. We’ve assembled a great team that will be led by Craig Brewer, who just did an amazing job on ‘Dolemite [Is My Name]’, and I’m looking forward to bringing all these classic and beloved characters back to the big screen.”
Barris added: “Craig’s ability to create a distinct cinematic world with each of his films is not only impressive but also what made him exactly the voice and vision we needed to bring this story to life.
“From ‘Hustle & Flow’ to his work with Eddie on ‘Dolemite Is My Name’, he never fails to blow me away. He is a true auteur and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board.”
The original film also starred James Earl Jones, Shari Headley, and John Amos.

OHMYGOSSIP — Todrick Hall is joining ‘The Greatest Dancer’.
The ‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race’ resident choreographer will take a seat alongside dance captains Cheryl, Oti Mabuse and Matthew Morrison on the upcoming second series of the BBC One show after producers decided to “tweak” the format when questions were raised about the availability of the former ‘Glee’ actor.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “At one point it looked like Matthew’s schedule might mean he wouldn’t return then bosses decided they wanted to add a fourth captain.
“They were really impressed with Todrick and decided to tweak the format slightly.”
Cheryl confirmed in June she’d be returning to the show, which sees performers compete for £50,000 and a chance to perform on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
She said at the time: “I don’t think I’m allowed to say but I’m going to anyway – I’m going back to the dance show. I’m going to get told off for that, but it doesn’t matter because it’s just a fact. I love, love, loved the dance show.”
As well as judging and coaching the competitors, the captains were also given the chance to showcase their dance skills as they performed a routine at the start of every show and then choreographed and took part in their contestant’s number during the final.
Host Jordan Banjo said last month: “Cheryl brought so much to the show as a dancer and dance captain. She was wicked to work with and handled everything really well. Her performance with the Strictly pros was like a baptism of fire. Getting on stage with them at world-class level and holding her own, she smashed it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins has pulled out of ‘The Only Way is Essex’.
The 38-year-old reality star shot to fame on the ITVBe series in 2011, and despite filming a teaser trailer for the new series, the former ‘Dancing on Ice’ star is reportedly too busy with other work to “give ‘TOWIE’ her full attention”.
A source said: “Gemma is so busy with work at the moment, she just hasn’t had time to give ‘TOWIE’ her full attention, so she’s made the difficult decision to pull out.
“She’s just filmed her own show, which saw her go to America, and is working on various other lucrative projects including her music career with Naughty Boy.”
Gemma is said to have tried hard to “fit ‘TOWIE’ in”, but realised she wouldn’t be able to appear in a full series of the programme.
The source added to The Sun Online: “She was really trying to fit the show in, and even filmed the promo, but realised it just wouldn’t be possible to do a full series.
“Of course everyone is really disappointed – fans will be devastated she’s not returned to ‘TOWIE’ as she’s the big star and everyone tunes in to see her.”
‘TOWIE’ is to return this September, and the latest trailer sees Chloe Sims hinting she may confront her former flame Dan Edgar.
Gemma wasn’t able to shoot the last series of the reality show because she was busy filming ‘Dancing on Ice’, on which she clashed with judge Jason Gardiner.
And yesterday (07.08.19), she admitted reports he may not be back for the new series were “great news”.
When asked what she thought about claims Jason may not be on the panel, she said: “Hallelujah. Let’s be fair he only works twice a year in TV.
“I think he does ‘Dancing on Ice’ and panto. Would we miss him this year? Hell no. People are probably watching this thinking, ‘She’s a bit strong.’
“But you can criticise someone, but you don’t have to get personal. Criticise me all day long but don’t get personal, especially with mental health now and bullying and stuff like that.
“So yeah, hallelujah. This is great news. My show launches tonight, Jason Gardiner is not coming back, it couldn’t be better.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lesley Manville has joined the cast of ‘Save Me’.
The 63-year-old star is set to star in the next series of the Sky Atlantic drama, with the ‘Mum’ actress in line to play Jennifer Charles opposite series lead and creator Lennie James’ character Nelly Rowe.
She is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column as saying: “I couldn’t be more delighted to be joining this phenomenal series.”
‘War & Peace’ actor Adrian Edmondson also joins the cast as her onscreen husband Gideon.
The first six-part series of ‘Save Me’ – which told the story of Nelly’s desperate search for his estranged teenage daughter after she mysteriously disappeared – launched to high praise from critics and viewers, and filming for the second season is set to start this month.
Suranne Jones will also return as the lead character’s ex-lover, and the star previously praised the “great ensemble”.
She said: “I am so thrilled to be returning for the second series of ‘Save Me’.
“The reaction to the show has been amazing and I love being part of a great ensemble piece.
“Lennie has fantastic energy and his writing is so real and poetic. I cannot wait to read what he creates next.”
Last year, creator Lennie admitted that while he was delighted with the positive reaction to the programme, he was “quite happy” to be in the US when the show aired in the UK, because he would’ve felt “overwhelmed” by the response.
He said: “It’s really weird but the reaction to it is the reaction I hoped for. You can hope for it but you don’t expect it. The way that it has been received has been slightly overwhelming.
“I was quite happy with the distance that I had from the reaction to it, being out here in America because otherwise it might feel like there was an undue pressure on me to write the second series.
“But I’ve been able to get a sense of how people have felt about it and reacted to it without being completely overwhelmed by it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Fern Britton says a famous TV presenter put his face in her cleavage and pretended to sneeze.
The 62-year-old presenter has opened up about inappropriate behaviour in the television industry, and admitted she’s “ashamed” to have kept such incidents quiet for so long.
She told Good Housekeeping magazine: “A famous TV presenter would shake my hand, pretend to sneeze and put his nose into my cleavage. It was thought to be charming and hilarious.
“I would often have my bottom touched or my breasts remarked on. All those things were supposed to be funny and we were programmed to accept it.
“Thankfully, things are different now. As I got older, I have woken up much more to it. I’m ashamed that, in my days as a young woman, we didn’t speak out about things that were wrong and inappropriate.”
However, Fern is glad to see that women are now “re-powering” following the rise of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, and she said everyone has a “duty” to call people out for their actions.
She added: “We just want to stand shoulder to shoulder. Whether male or female, if you see anybody behaving inappropriately, it’s your duty to call them out.”
In February, the former ‘This Morning’ star revealed she was sexually assaulted during her time at Television South by an unnamed man in a lift when he started kissing her following a showbiz interview.
Recalling the incident, she said: “I remember doing a television show when I worked for TVS. I was in a lift with a man I’d just interviewed.
“He suddenly jumped me and started snogging me. I asked him what on earth he thought he was doing. But it didn’t seem to shame him into stopping.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi is keen to appear on a celebrity version of ‘Love Island’.
The ‘Hold Me While You Wait’ hitmaker has called for the ITV2 dating show’s bosses to help him find love, admitting he will be the first one in the villa if producers opt to make another star-studded version of the programme.
Lewis told Hits Radio: “If they ever do a celebrity version of ‘Love Island’, sign me up. They need some diversity on that show.
“They need a man with his pale belly hanging out with his stretch marks and everything.
“You need to see it, so yeah I’d be up for it, I’m looking for love.”
It wouldn’t be the first time there was a celeb version as ‘Celebrity Love Island’ aired for two series from 2005 to 2006.
Besides ‘Love Island’, Lewis admitted he would love to take part in ‘Big Brother’, which currently doesn’t have a home.
He added: “I would love to do ‘Big Brother’. I would kill to do ‘Big Brother’.
“You see, growing up watching ‘Big Brother’, ‘Who is she, who is she?’ And all that. Unreal, I’d love to do that.”
Lewis recently confessed he wants Meat Loaf to play him in a movie of his life.
Asked who should play him in a film, he said: “Meat Loaf. But I want him to play me as he is now, from my childhood right through to the present.
“No prostheses, no CGI, I want him to look like Meat Loaf. I think he’s a handsome man.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rochelle and Marvin Humes have signed up to present a second series of ‘The Hit List’.
The couple’s popular Saturday night music quiz show has been commissioned for a return to BBC One after a successful first outing earlier this year, and the pair are “buzzing” to be back as hosts for another run.
They said: “We are absolutely buzzing that series two of ‘The Hit List’ has been commissioned.
“We’ve been overwhelmed with all the support and positive reaction to a show that we have so much fun making. We’re so pleased that everyone loves it as much as we do and can’t wait for it to be back on screen again!”
The show sees three couples competing each week for the chance to win a £10,000 prize – by naming as many songs and artists as possible under intense pressure.
Marvin, 33 and his wife Rochelle, 29, were both in successful pop bands – JLS and The Saturdays – before turning towards presenting and have gone on to co-host on ‘This Morning’ on occasions.
The first series of ‘The Hit List’ proved to be a huge success, and the team are excited to start work on the next season.
Executive producer Karen Smith said: “The ratings for ‘The Hit List’ were great, the recommission even better, but the best bit was hearing how families were coming together to watch and play along with the show. Genuinely shared viewing. I love it when a plan comes together.”
The Beeb was also delighted the show was uniting families in the name of entertainment, and hailed its “energy”.
Kate Phillips, controller of entertainment commissioning at the BBC, added: “‘The Hit List’ has a tremendous amount of energy and is a lot of fun too.
“I love the fact that families can join in with the action and play along from the comfort of their own homes, making it the perfect way to kick off Saturday nights with BBC One.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Leslie Jones and Kiki Layne have joined the cast of ‘Coming 2 America’.
The ‘Saturday Night Live’ star and the ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ actress are the latest stars to join actor Eddie Murphy in the sequel to 1988’s ‘Coming to America’.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kiki will play the daughter of Murphy’s character Prince Akeem, who is “burdened with feeling like she is the son her father never had”, while Leslie’s role is being kept under wraps.
In the sequel Murphy is to reprise his role as Prince Akeem, a prince from the fictional African nation of Zamunda who travels to New York to try to escape an arranged marriage and find a wife.
The new film – which will see Arsenio Hall return as Akeem’s best friend – follows the prince as he returns to the US to try to track down his long-lost son, Lavelle, who grew up in Queens in New York.
The quest to find his son is wish of his dying father, who will once again be played by James Earl Jones.
Also joining the cast is Wesley Snipes, who will play a new character, General Izzi.
Craig Brewer will direct the project for Paramount, and Murphy will produce alongside Kevin Misher and Kenya Barris.
Murphy said in a statement: “After many years of anticipation, I’m thrilled that ‘Coming to America 2’ is officially moving forward. We’ve assembled a great team that will be led by Craig Brewer, who just did an amazing job on ‘Dolemite [Is My Name]’, and I’m looking forward to bringing all these classic and beloved characters back to the big screen.”
Barris added: “Craig’s ability to create a distinct cinematic world with each of his films is not only impressive but also what made him exactly the voice and vision we needed to bring this story to life.
“From ‘Hustle & Flow’ to his work with Eddie on ‘Dolemite Is My Name’, he never fails to blow me away. He is a true auteur and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board.”
‘Coming 2 America’ is set for release on December 18, 2020.
