James Jordan to star in Those Who Wish Me Dead

OHMYGOSSIP — James Jordan is set to join Angelina Jolie in thriller ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’.
The ‘Destroyer’ actor has been cast alongside Angelina, 44, by Oscar-nominee Taylor Sheridan in his big-screen adaptation of Michael Koryta’s 2014 book about 14-year-old Jace Wilson, who witnesses a brutal murder and is given a false identity and sent on an initiative for troubled teens.
The novel follows Jace as he escapes the killers, known as the Blackwell Brothers, who are prepared to slaughter anyone who gets in their way in a methodical quest to reach him.
Now all that remains between them and the boy are Ethan and Allison Serbin, who run the wilderness survival program and Hannah Faber, who occupies a lonely fire lookout tower.
The movie will also star Nicholas Hoult and while it has not been confirmed which role the ‘About A Boy’ star will play, it is believed he’ll portray one of the killers alongside Tyler Perry.
It was previously reported that the script is female-driven and will move away from some of the main parts of the suspense story.
The studios behind ‘A Simple Favor’, Bron Studios, are producing the flick, along with Steven Zaillian (‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’) and Garrett Basch via Film Rites.
This isn’t the first time James, 40, has teamed up with Sheridan and the pair worked together on 2017 neo-Western murder mystery film ‘Wind River’.
The film follows Jeremy Renner as Cory Lambert, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service agent and Elizabeth Olsen as a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service tracker and an FBI agent, respectively, who try to solve a murder on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming.

Amanda Mealing collapsed on Holby City set due to PTSD

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Mealing collapsed on the set of ‘Holby City’ after her breast cancer battle.
The 52-year-old actress – who appeared in the medical drama series as Connie Beauchamp until 2010 and has played the same role in sister show ‘Casualty’ since 2014 – was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) five years after her 2002 battle with the illness, and it resulted in a scary moment during filming.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I literally crumbled down on my haunches at the steps, going up to reception. And there were only five steps and I couldn’t make it up.”
Amanda – who underwent a mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy during her cancer struggle – admitted she rushed herself back to work without dealing with “the psychological aspect” of both the diagnosis and battle.
She added: “At the time I couldn’t because I’d just had, what I call, my hand-to-hand combat of fighting the cancer, so I didn’t have time to look at my emotional and psychological state.
“My husband said, ‘This is going to come back and bite us on the arse years down the line’. And it did.”
The TV star turned to therapy to cope with PTSD, and she described it as “essential” when it comes to coping with a traumatic event.
She explained: “It does work. If you have been through trauma, it is essential. I was diagnosed [with cancer] 24 hours after my second son was born. My whole world was turned upside down.”
Amanda first played Connie in ‘Holby City’ back in 2004, and despite leaving six years later she made a number of special appearances since joining ‘Casualty’ in 2014.

Chris Bisson: Emmerdale explosion was like Mission: Impossible

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Bisson says shooting the ‘Emmerdale’ factory explosion was like being on the set of ‘Mission: Impossible’.
The 44-year-old actor’s alter ego Jai Sharma saw his family business literally go up in flames this week, and he admitted there was an extra level of excitement for the cast and crew filming such dramatic scenes as he compared it to Tom Cruise’s blockbuster movie franchise.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ on Thursday (08.08.19), he said: “Yeah, when the story’s big it’s more interesting, isn’t it? When we’re doing big stunts and explosions, it’s great. “We’re filming the thing where the factory explodes and they’ve got all these stunt men on wires making it look like ‘Mission: Impossible’. It’s really exciting, and interesting to watch!”
Jai is in the middle of the storyline, which is set to continue after Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) died in the blaze.
Explaining how things will impact the near future for his character, Chris added: “He’s right in the middle of it. It’s his factory. His dad’s made a mess of it and he’s trying now to pick up the pieces.
“The factory workers are all out of work so they’re on his case, and obviously Frank’s died.”
Chris first appeared on the ITV soap a decade ago – after spending three years as Vikram Desai on ‘Coronation Street’ until 2002 – and he previously admitted he was surprised the factory lasted 10 years without getting destroyed.
He recently said: “It’s the end of an era and it also marks me being on ‘Emmerdale’ for 10 years. That’s when the factory was first introduced, on my birthday 10 years ago.
“It’s been a 10-year cycle. I’m surprised it hasn’t been blown up sooner or burnt down sooner, it’s lasted quite well in Soap World.”

Lauren Goodger and Jack Fincham skip TV appearances with Lady Colin Campbell

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger and Jack Fincham pulled out of their ‘This Morning’ appearance after the ‘Celebs Go Dating’ wrap party.
The two reality TV stars were set to sit on the sofa for an interview with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on Thursday morning (08.08.19), but their co-star Lady Colin Campbell had to go solo when the pair went missing after a heavy night out.
Eamonn told viewers earlier in the show: “She was supposed to be joined by Jack Fincham and Lauren Goodger as well. They were supposed to be here but we were told it was the wrap party of the programme last night and they haven’t [turned up]. No one’s seen them since.”
Lady C cheekily suggested Lauren and Jack didn’t turn up to the studio because of some “rumpy pumpy”, although she said the real question is “with whom” rather than where they were.
She alleged: “I don’t think we need to guess too hard as to where they are and what they’re doing, but I think the only question mark is ‘with whom?’
“I saw them as I was leaving, which was well after midnight. [Jack] said, ‘Oh I’ll see you tomorrow’, and I said ‘Sure’, and Lauren seemed a little bit [unsteady].
“I think temptation, some people are like Oscar Wilde – they can resist anything but temptation. I think they both – two words, rumpy pumpy.”
Ruth was quick to point out the saucy suggestion was just “Lady C’s opinion”, and she called for the missing pair to get in touch.
She laughed: “That’s only Lady C’s opinion, obviously we don’t know. But Jack and Lauren, if you’re watching let us know, because we can’t find either of you anywhere. We’re a bit worried.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Curtis Pritchard has joined ‘The Greatest Dancer’.
The ‘Love Island’ star – whose brother AJ is a pro on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – will be welcoming contestants to the studio as they get ready for their audition for the BBC One competition.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Scott Mills Show’, he said: “To have left the Love Island villa just 10 days ago and to be so quickly given an opportunity to be a part of a show as amazing as ‘The Greatest Dancer’ is a dream come true!
“When I got the call I was so honoured to even be considered for this so the fact it’s happening I can’t quite believe!
“Dance is my passion and I can’t wait to meet all the contestants in the new revamped reception area.”

In the Twitter clip, he added: “I’m going to be taking over the reception, getting to introduce myself to all of the contestants.
“Dance is one of my passions, so I want to find out more about everybody else’s dance style. And basically, tune in early next year, BBC One. I want to see all of you watching for the best gossip and best dance moves.”
Curtis rose to fame on the most recent series of ‘Love Island’ and finished fourth on the ITV2 dating series alongside 28-year-old ring girl Maura Higgins.
Earlier this week, she insisted the couple are “very happy” and she is looking forward to taking their romance “slow” and finally going on their first proper first date outside of the villa.
She said: “We’re very happy and we’re taking things slow. He makes me happy, I make him happy.
“In the villa, it’s very different and now we’re out of the villa we want to take things slow and go on dates, we’ve not had out first official date outside the villa yet.

Belle Hassan’s dad helped her land Love Island role

OHMYGOSSIP — Belle Hassan’s famous father helped her get on ‘Love Island’.
The 21-year-old star admitted her dad Tamer – who has appeared in the likes of ‘The Football Factory’, ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ – asked if she wanted to go onto the ITV2 dating show, and managed to get in touch with producers to make it happen.
She told Closer Online: “I had a conversation with my dad and he asked me if I wanted to do the show.
“I didn’t really think much of it and before I knew it one of his friends [got me in contact] with someone at ITV, and then I did the audition and started the application process.”
Meanwhile, Belle’s beau Anton Danyluk has revealed he applied directly for the show had went through the entire “process”.
He said: “I went through the whole application process. I did the first one minute video and from there I met producers, then I had a medical and then I met the executive producers and then I was ready to go.”
Last month, ITV chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall confirmed not all of the islanders were found through general applications, with the majority discovered by the “casting team”.
Speaking on July 15, she explained: “On series five of Love Island to date, there have been 36 contributors.
“Twenty-four were found and cast by the programme’s casting team, six were put forward by professional agents and six came through the general application process.”
Belle and Anton left the villa after Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury voted to send them home, and Belle later branded it at a “tactical” move.
Defending herself, the make-up artist argued: “It is a shame. Tommy and I will hopefully speak to Anton and Belle when we get out and chat about it.
“We had to pick a couple and it is hard. We did what we did and it was a joint decision from Tommy and I. There were absolutely no tactics involved whatsoever.”

Davina McCall heartbroken after watching Jade Goody documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall is heartbroken after watching Channel 4’s documentary about Jade Goody.
The former ‘Big Brother’ presenter tuned in for the first part of ‘Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain’ on Wednesday (07.08.19) – told fans on Twitter it was an “intense” experience seeing it play out on the small screen.
Sharing a broken heart emoji on Twitter, Davina – who was interviewed for the documentary – said: ‘Wow… this is really intense… she lived a lot in her short life.”
Jade passed away from cervical cancer in 2009 at the age of 27, and the TV host knew the reality star when she shot to fame on ‘Big Brother’ in 2002.
Davina, 51, added that the documentary was “bringing back so many memories”.
The presenter also witnessed Jade’s fall from grace when she was accused of racism during the fifth series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ due to her treatment of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.
Davina said in the doc: “I felt such enormous joy at Jade’s popularity. Then, ‘Oh my God, what happened? How can it all turn in a nanosecond? She’s now become the most hated girl in Britain?’ ”
Jade appeared in the ‘CBB’ house five years after her original stint in the civilian version, and she became the first of the show’s housemates to become a millionaire as she enjoyed success on television before the scandal.
‘Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain’ started last night as the first of a three-part series highlighting her life.

Gemma Collins backs weight loss jabs after losing three stone in six weeks

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins used weight loss jabs to shed three stone in just six weeks.
The 38-year-old reality star has opened up about the new anti-obesity treatment – which has been dubbed the ‘miracle flab jab’ – and she backed the procedure after deciding to “give it a whirl”.
The told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “The lady who does it opened up a shop near me, so I just popped in there one day.
“I was like, ‘Oh, what’s this all about?’ Anyway, I said just give it a whirl and that’s it. Three stone later I was happy as Larry. You take the jab and the fat just melts away.”
The former ‘TOWIE’ diva has also called on ‘Dancing On Ice’ bosses to sign her up as a judge if her rival Jason Gardiner leaves.
She added: “They actually need to put me on as a judge to replace him. The whole nasty judge thing is dated now, it’s in the past. Let’s see some fresh air.
“I pulled in the ratings — it dropped down to 2.7million when I left… Me just being on there alone would have their ratings up, so get [ITV boss] Kevin Lygo to give me a call.”
Her comments come after the GC – whose new reality show ‘Gemma Collins: Diva Forever’ launched last night (07.08.19) on ITVBe – responded to reports the ITV figure skating competition’s judge might not be back for the next series, and after their spat during her run on the show earlier this year it’s clear she wouldn’t be disappointed to see him leave the programme.
She said: “Hallelujah. Let’s be fair he only works twice a year in TV. I think he does ‘Dancing on Ice’ and panto. Would we miss him this year? Hell no. People are probably watching this thinking, ‘She’s a bit strong.’
“But you can criticise someone, but you don’t have to get personal. Criticise me all day long but don’t get personal, especially with mental health now and bullying and stuff like that.
“So yeah, hallelujah. This is great news. My show launches tonight, Jason Gardiner is not coming back, it couldn’t be better.”

Louis Theroux explores sex work in new documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Theroux is back with a new documentary on the sex industry in the UK.
The BAFTA award winning filmmaker’s upcoming BBC Two project ‘Selling Sex’ will focus on women providing legal services from hotels or their own home, and he’s keen to delve into the “ethical wrinkles” of the subject.
He said: “I’m always drawn to stories that involve ethical wrinkles – issues that are deeply felt, but are also divisive, and in which goodhearted people can come to opposite conclusions. The debate around selling sex is exactly that kind of story.”
The women featured in the one hour special use the ease of technology to share photos, make bookings and vet potential clients.
Louis, 49, added: “It is one of the most straightforward, yet complex interactions that can take place between two people. On the one hand, none of the activities taking place here are illegal; everything is above board and both parties have mutually agreed on the arrangement.
“On the other, it’s impossible to deny that for many – maybe most – people, there is something unsavoury in the idea of accepting money for an act that is so intimate. They have a problem with those who do it and see it as a symptom of a society that is controlled and dominated by men.”
Prostitution on the streets or owning a brothel is illegal in England, but exchanging sexual services is not, and so people are finding new ways – thanks to technology – to feel secure and in control during the exchanges.
The broadcaster explained: “I thought it would be revealing to speak to the women involved in the business of selling sex. Once we started looking we discovered that the sexual economy seems to have been turbo-charged by the prevalence of new websites and social media that allow users to meet up more easily, to write reviews of each other, and swap information.”
According to Louis, viewers will get a very “intimate look” at the lives of three woman which will help people understand how someone goes down this path.
Sex work has always been controversial, with many believing it to be exploitative and damaging, but the documentary aims to “broaden” people’s minds on the sensitive topic.
Patrick Holland – Controller for BBC Two – added: “This is a challenging and complex film about the modern face of one of the oldest taboos. The contributors let us into their lives with exceptional candour. I’d like to thank Louis and his team for another exceptional documentary.”

Ovie Soko reveals inspiration for Love Island catchphrase

OHMYGOSSIP — Ovie Soko took his ‘Love Island’ catchphrase from ‘Don’t Be A Menace’.
The 28-year-old professional basketball player delighted viewers with his call of “message” to signal a text had arrived, and he admitted he was inspired by 1996 comedy ‘Don’t Be A Menace’, which was written by – and starred – brothers Shawn and Marlon Mayans.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he said: “It actually came from a movie that I watched when I was a big younger, ‘Don’t Be A Menace’… It’s just funny, and it popped into my head.
“Yeah, it’s wild that it caught on. When I first said it a couple of the islanders were like, ‘No, that’s not the thing, you’re not supposed to say that.’ ”
The reality star also caught the attention of fans when he put his hat in the freezer to keep it cold, and he insisted the move “just made sense” in the moment.
He explained: “I mean, it just made sense. We’re in the heat, you need to keep your head protected, cool head, pop your hat in the freezer.
“And it was just convenient – if you have hats all around the villa you never have to run back to the bedroom every time. There was always one within arms reach.”
Ovie came third on the ITV2 dating series with partner India Reynolds, and while things are going well for the pair he admitted it was too soon to say whether their romance is really “love”.
He added: “I can’t say love, I think love is a thing that takes time to develop. We’re in a good place, but we’re just gonna put one foot in front of the other. We’ve spent quite a lot of time together. She’s back in Reading now handling some stuff, but we’ve been enjoying it. Taking it in our stride!”

The ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ filmmaker is adapting the feature with Iain Morris and brought on Garrett Basch to produce the film, which follows Dutch coach Thomas Rongen as he attempts to help the national football team of American Samoa as they try to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and recover from the indignity of being known as one of the weakest football teams in the world.
The ‘Hunt for the Wilderpeople’ director will release his latest film for Searchlight, ‘Jojo Rabbit’ later this year and the World War II movie will see Scarlett Johansson play a mother who is hiding a Jewish girl in her home during the reign of Adolf Hitler when her German son discovers her secret.

David Tennant is up for Doctor Who return

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tennant would love to make a ‘Doctor Who’ comeback.
The 48-year-old actor played the Tenth Doctor between 2005 and 2010 and later reprised the role for the 50th anniversary special ‘The Day of the Doctor’ and he’d be up for a similar return alongside Peter Capaldi, Matt Smith, Christopher Eccleston and current Time Lord Jodie Whittaker.
He told RadioTimes.com: “It would be fun to do. Jodie, Peter, and Matt are all mates now. It would be wonderful to be on set with them.
“Chris, I don’t know as well, but I’m a huge admirer of him and I’ve always enjoyed meeting him, so it’d be fun if we were all on set together.”
The show will mark its 60th anniversary in 2023, and while David is up for a comeback he knows there will be a time when he can’t “get away with” returning to the TARDIS.
He added: “I suppose the opportunity has historically been there for Doctors to return to an extent.
“There would come a point where I wouldn’t be able to get away with it. I wouldn’t be able to fit in the suit or get my hair to stand up at the end like I used to.
“There’s a 60th anniversary in a few years, and the question will inevitably come up. But it won’t be for me to decide.”
Meanwhile, the actor previously admitted the passion of ‘Doctor Who’ fans can sometimes be overwhelming and intimidating.
He explained: “t’s quite a small club. It does feel like once you’ve been The Doctor, you’re always The Doctor.
“We do form a small support network… It’s quite an unusual job and it’s humbling to be at the centre of that. It has such a huge fan base all over the world that it is quite scary at first.”

Dev said: “I just can’t believe I’m doing ‘Strictly’, it just doesn’t feel real yet.
“It’s going to be so much fun, but just to be clear, I’m not doing this to take part, I’m totally in it to win it!
“I can’t wait to meet my partner and start practicing.”
Dev started out in children’s TV on BBC Two and went on to star on BBC 1Xtra before joining Radio 1.
He is no stranger to making a final on a celebrity competition after doing so in 2017’s ‘Celebrity MasterChef’, but he was beaten to the title by Angellica Bell.

Love Island’s Ovie Soko lands guest chef spot on This Morning

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Ovie Soko has bagged himself a guest chef slot on ‘This Morning’.
The 28-year-old professional basketball player, who came third on the ITV2 dating series with partner India Reynolds, is following in the footsteps of his fellow 2019 Islander Maura Higgins by landing an appearance on the daytime TV show alongside hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
The episode on Thursday (08.08.19) will see the hunk, who famously sung to his eggs in the villa, share his special recipe with viewers.
He said: “Message! Cooking on ‘This Morning’ is going to be dope, but I’ll need to graft hard if my infamous eggs are to live up to the hype for Love Island fans Eamonn and Ruth.
“They’re daytime royalty after all.”
‘This Morning’ editor Martin Frizell said: “Here at ‘This Morning’ we pride ourselves on nurturing and developing new talent.
“Ovie was undoubtedly one of the most popular Islanders this year and so we’re thrilled to have him on the show as a brand new guest chef.”
Maura, 28, proved such a hit with viewers during her time in the villa that ITV producers hired her to host her own phone-in advice slot and the segment ‘Maura Than Meets the Eye’, where she takes on challenges across the country.
The 28-year-old model said: “I’m getting flutters about joining ‘This Morning’. I can’t believe it. It’s beyond my wildest dreams.
“I’ve grown up watching Phillip [Schofield], Holly [Willoughby], Eamonn [Holmes], Ruth [Langsford] and the team. Mad to think I’m now part of that iconic family. Can’t wait to crack on.”
Martin said: “Maura was the stand out star of this year’s villa antics with her straight-talking opinionated views.”

James Cracknell to star in Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cracknell has signed up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 47-year-old athlete becomes the 14th contestant to join this year’s series after he was announced on today’s (07.08.19) ‘Good Morning Britain’, and it would’ve been news to his mum as he hadn’t even told her.
He said: “I haven’t told my mum yet, we got told not to tell anyone.
“She’ll be going, ‘No, what’s he doing.’
“It’s going to be really interesting having no confidence in it and going, ‘OK, can you do it?’ ”
James was previously said to have been approached to do ‘Strictly’ but wife Beverley Turner reportedly banned him from appearing in the show due to the programme’s infamous so-called curse.
While the couple – who have three kids, Croyde, Kiki and Trixie – recently split, James said Bev has been “really supportive” of his decision to compete on the show, and his children are “really embarrassed” for him.
Asked how his kids feel about it, he said: “They have a very similar feeling in that they’re really embarrassed for me. I did tell them.
“Bev was supported and the kids went, ‘No!’ Croyde was like, ‘You’ve got to get some dad dancing in the routine.’ ”
James admits his biggest challenge will be whether he can give himself “permission to look stupid” and “fail”.
Quizzed on whether the curse has “crossed [his] mind now he’s a single man”, he said: “It’s more that you’re spending so much time with someone and you’ve only got so much time in your day, so you do become slightly obsessed with it.
“Apparently I have quite an addictive personality.
“But the biggest challenge for me is to give myself permission to look stupid, fail, let yourself off the leash, whereas other stuff I quite like being in control.”
Dev Griffin, Alex Scott, Jamie Laing, Will Bayley, Michelle Visage, Viscountess Emma Weymouth, Karim Zeroual, Mike Bushell, Catherine Tyldesley, Saffron Barker, David James, Chris Ramsey and Emma Barton will also compete on the show.

Home Alone to be reimagined

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Home Alone’ is to be rebooted.
Disney have confirmed the 1990 Christmas classic – which stars Macaulay Culkin and Joe Pesci – will be reworked, as will ‘Night at the Museum’ and ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’.
According to ComicBook.com, Disney chief Bob Iger confirmed during their latest earnings call that the three franchises will be “reimagined for a new generation” once Disney+ – the company’s upcoming streaming service – launches.
But it’s not clear if the movies will be rebooted as feature films or TV series on Disney+.
‘Home Alone’ saw Culkin star as eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, who was forced to protect his family’s abode from two burglars, known as the “Wet Bandits”, after he was accidentally left there while they went on holiday over the festive period.
Culkin reprised his role for a sequel, ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’, two years later, and the franchise spawned another three films, in 1997, 2002 and 2012, but the trio weren’t as revered as the first two motion pictures.
Ben Stiller led a star-studded cast in 2006 fantasy film ‘Night at the Museum’, in which his museum night-watchman character Larry Daley discovers the exhibits come to life.
Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Ricky Gerais, Paul Rudd and the late Robin Williams also featured in the movie, which was followed up by 2009’s ‘Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian’, and ‘Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb’ in 2014.
Zachary Gordon played the titular character in 2010 comedy ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’, which was based on Jeff Kinney’s book of the same name.
The film was followed by three sequels, ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules’, ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days’ and ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul’.
