Helen McCrory can’t watch disgustingly ‘violent’ Peaky Blinders episode

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen McCrory couldn’t watch the “disgustingly violent” opening episode of the new series of ‘Peaky Blinders’.
The 50-year-old actress – who plays Polly Gray, the aunt of Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) in the BBC One gangster drama – warned fans about “disturbing” scenes in the fifth season, but she insisted the portrayal of such savagery “should be horrifying”.
Speaking to press ahead of the new series, she’s quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: “No, I think the reason that… It is very violent and it’s really horrible and you should look away.
“I’ve only seen episode one, and there’s a whole bit… We saw the screening in Birmingham, for fans who managed to get lottery tickets.
“I look away from the screen. I as Helen can’t watch it. I think it’s disgusting, gratuitous violence. It is… no, not gratuitous – disgustingly violent.
“But it is. And it should be. I think it’s much more disturbing than somebody slashes somebody’s face or somebody shoots somebody and it’s all just the end of it.”
Meanwhile, Helen added that the show proves there are consequences for violent actions, and she insisted anyone who glorifies it is “sick”.
She said: “It should be horrifying and you should have the people who are responsible for the violence unable to self-medicate or having mental health problems, or all the things that do happen to people, if you kill other people.
“Because it is not a natural state of affairs. And anybody who looks at the violence of ‘Peaky Blinders’ and thinks: ‘That exactly is what I want to do’. I mean, sick.”
‘Peaky Blinders’ returns to BBC One for its fifth season from Sunday, August 25.

Tommy Fury on ‘dream girl’ Molly-Mae Hague

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Fury says Molly-Mae Hague is his “dream” girl.
The ‘Love Island’ couple were runners-up on this year’s series of the ITV2 dating show, and the 20-year-old boxer admitted he felt like a “winner” even if they didn’t leave the villa as champions.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he said: “As soon as I met Molly, I thought ‘I don’t care if I go tomorrow because I’ve met the girl of my dreams anyway’.
“Obviously it wasn’t really about winning – we’re winners in our own right. Amber [Gill] did deserve to win, she had a really tough time in there.
“Greg [O’Shea] came in, swept her off her feet, they look really good together and I wish them all the absolute best.”
And Molly-Mae, also 20, agreed with her beau that their love for each other means more than not being crowd winners of the reality show.
She added: “You’re not in there for that, honestly. People need to realise that’s not even in your mind when you’re in that villa. “You’re not thinking about the final, you’re not thinking about winning. It’s not even in your head.
“You’re just thinking in the moment, making friends, making memories – I know it sounds cringey but it really is.”
Despite finishing in second place, the loved up pair insisted they have no regrets about their time in the villa.
Molly-Mae gushed: “It feels incredible, we’re both just so happy right now. We keep saying, we wouldn’t change a thing! It’s just been such an incredible journey.”
Meanwhile, Tommy recently opened up on the opportunities available after appearing on the programme, and he revealed he would love to appear in a new show alongside his brother and world-famous boxer Tyson Fury.
He said: “We’ve got to take everything we’re offered and look at it to see if it’s a path we want to go down. But I already know I would 100 percent want me and Tyson to do a show together.
“We’re two contrasting characters, so I think that would be a fun route for us to go down. It would be something new for us. We’ve trained together and sparred a bit, but we’ve never worked together before.”

Natalie Portman’s Lucy in the Sky gets release date

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Portman’s ‘Lucy in the Sky’ is set for release in October.
The forthcoming Fox Searchlight movie is set to hit cinemas on October 4, 2020, the same day as fellow Fox picture ‘The Woman in the Window’ which is preparing to move after Disney inherited both films following their merger with 21st Century Fox.
The movie will see the 38-year-old star portray an astronaut as she returns to Earth following a lengthy mission where she begins an affair with a fellow astronaut, however when her lover begins another affair with a trainee she heads into a downward spiral.
The film is loosely based on astronaut Lisa Nowak’s criminal activities around her romantic involvement with co-worker William Oefelein.
‘Lucy in the Sky’ features a stellar cast which includes Jon Hamm, Dan Stevens, Zazie Beetz, Pearl Amanda Dickson and Ellen Burstyn.
Meanwhile, Natalie recently admitted the backlash surrounding the ‘Star Wars’ prequel – in which she shot to fame as as Padme Amidala – backlash was “a bummer”.
Natalie – who was a teen when the first of the prequel trilogy came out in 1999 – said: “It was hard. It was a bummer because it felt like people were so excited about new ones and then to have people feel disappointed.
“Also to be at an age that I didn’t really understand that’s kind of the nature of the beast. When something has that much anticipation it can almost only disappoint.”
However, the actress noted that some fans have “re-evaluated’ their initial reaction to the films, which were scorned for a perceived overuse of CGI and dislike for comedic alien Jar Jar Binks.
She added: “With the perspective of time, it’s been re-evaluated by a lot of people who actually really love them now.
“There’s a very avid group of people who think they’re the best ones now! I don’t have enough perspective to weigh in.”

Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley will be rated ‘double R’

OHMYGOSSIP — Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Nightmare Alley’ is “a straight, really dark story.”
The acclaimed director insists his forthcoming adaptation of William Lindsay Gresham’s 1947 novel of the same name will have a “big” R-rating and revealed that his re-imagining of the story won’t focus on the entire novel and instead will revolve around “elements that are darker in the book”.
Speaking to Collider, he said: “Well what it is, is that book was given to me in 1992 by Ron Perlman before I saw the Tyrone Power movie, and I loved the book.
“My adaptation that I’ve done with [co-writer] Kim Morgan is not necessarily–the entire book is impossible, it’s a saga.
“But there are elements that are darker in the book, and it’s the first chance I have-in my short films I wanted to do noir.
“It was horror and noir. And now is the first chance I have to do a real underbelly of society type of movie. [There are] no supernatural elements. Just a straight, really dark story.”
When asked whether the movie would be rated R, he replied: “Big R. Double R!”
‘Nightmare Alley’ follows Stanton ‘Stan’ Carlisle, a man who joins a travelling carnival where he attempts to learn the ways of mind-reading act Mademoiselle Zeena and her alcoholic husband, Pete.
Following Pete’s death, Zeena takes on Stan as a stage-partner where he proves more successful than her late husband and soon graduates to full-blown spiritualist, catering to the needs of the rich and gullible in their well-upholstered homes.
The movie already boasts an all-star cast which includes Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett and Willem Dafoe.

Patrick Vollrath opens up about Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s new thriller 7500

OHMYGOSSIP — Patrick Vollrath convinced Joseph Gordon-Levitt to board his terrorism thriller ‘7500’ with the offer of improvisation.
The German director – who gained critical acclaim in 2015 for work on his short film ‘Everything Will Be Okay’ – is set to helm the forthcoming thriller, which focuses on the pilot (Levitt) of a commercial plane which is hijacked by Islamic terrorists and says it was his relaxed filmmaking style which persuaded the 38-year-old actor to join the project.
In an interview with Variety, he said: “I first talked to Paul Dano about this role. But then there were scheduling issues and we were very happy about getting in touch with Joe.
“He saw the short, and he read the script. Then I got on a plane and went to L.A. We met for about two hours…I told him my vision for the film and how I work with actors…a lot of stuff that actors can enjoy
“I do 15-20 minute takes, without cutting…where they can really get into the emotion, and play, and try out stuff…I told him my ideas; how I work.
“I think that was something he was really interested in. He told me he hadn’t done improvisational acting since he was a kid….So a day later his agent called and said he would love to do it.”
Vollrath went on to explain that he underwent extensive research prior to making the film, which is mainly set in the claustrophobic cockpit of the airline.
He said: “I read a lot of hijacking reports and did a lot of research about airplanes…to make sure it would be as real as possible.
“But basically everything started on the one hand from shooting in a cramped space, and on the other from the humane aspect, which stems from a YouTube video I watched.”

Megan Barton Hanson stopped from leaving with one of her dates on Celebs Go Dating

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Barton Hanson was stopped by producers from leaving with one of her dates on ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
The 25-year-old reality star appeared on the E4 dating show last night (08.08.19) where she was set up with Liam Coleman, 23, who claims while the former ‘Love Island’ star was keen for the pair to leave together, they were stopped by producers.
Speaking to The Sun Online, he said: “I wanted to take her home, to be honest with you. We were meant to go out after, but I was mic’d up, wasn’t I, and you’re not allowed to go out for a drink with the celebrity afterwards and so they [bosses] took me back to the train station.
“She was up for it though, she was like, ‘Yeah’ but she whispered as if to say, ‘Don’t say it’. I’m not used to being mic’d up but she’s used to being mic’d up everywhere and she knows what she’s doing.
“She was up for it and then she was like, ‘Oh you’ve said it, haven’t you?’ and they heard with the cameras and the people next to me. It’s hard luck, isn’t it?
Although Liam claimed Meghan was “game”, he admitted the pair just shared a “goodbye” kiss.
He added: “We only kissed as we said goodbye. We went outside and that was it. I was annoyed because she was game as anything.”
His claims come after Megan was spotted locking lips with Demi Sims in front of a crowd at the E4 show’s wrap party this week, and an insider claimed they have made their relationship “official”.
A source said: “Megan and Demi are really happy together and a proper good match. At the party they couldn’t keep their hands off each other and were snogging like teenagers. They made it official last night and picked each other and not their dates.”

Gemma Collins: ‘I have the best butt in the world’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins says she has “the best butt in the world”.
The 38-year-old reality TV star insisted she doesn’t worry about being thin, despite using £250 weight loss jabs from Skinnyjab to help her lose three stone recently, and says she loves her curves.
She told The Sun Online: “I am not obsessed with being thin. I really do love myself as I am. I don’t have body issues or hang ups.
“People would pay thousands to have a butt like mine. I have got the perfect butt. It’s the best in the world. It is up and it’s big.
“I love my body. When I go on holiday now I just don’t mind wearing swimwear. I honestly am at a stage now where I am as I am and I don’t have to explain myself to anybody.”
“To get my boobs done, I had to lose three stone and that’s why I done it but actually now I don’t know again. I don’t know if I want my body ripped and pulled apart.”
And Gemma defended her decision to use weight-loss jabs to drop three stone.
She said: “That’s bulls**t. I am sorry but listen everyone has their different struggles. Is a hair transplant cheating?
“If you could have something that would help you along the way – then why wouldn’t you?”
Gemma’s new self-confidence comes some months after she was left devastated when her on/off boyfriend James Argent sent her messages with cruel jibes about her weight during an argument.
The messages allegedly read: “You are a fat joke of a woman. An absolute car crash! You’re nearly 40 f***ing years old, you embarrassment … You fat horrible lump. Nasty mean woman. Who the f*** do you think you are? You’ve got more rolls than Greggs.”
An insider said: “James was very emotional and later broke down in tears telling Gemma ‘You have stood by me in my worst times and you didn’t deserve any of this or what I said’. He said he is very sorry.”

Nicolas Cage takes credit for prosthetic nose in Never on Tuesday

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Cage has taken full credit for his character’s prosthetic nose in the 1989 film ‘Never on Tuesday’.
The 55-year-old actor has opened up about playing the cameo role of a “sleazy guy” driving a Ferrari in the 80’s American comedy, and revealed it was his idea to wear the “physical deformity” because the movie’s director, Adam Rifkin, gave him full creative control.
He said: “The whole thing [was my idea], yeah. The character was just some sleazy guy who wanted to pick up a girl in a Ferrari, and that wasn’t so interesting to me. So I came up with a concept: This character had a physical deformity. He looked like a freak; long nose, bullied as a kid, called ‘Pinocchio’ in the schoolyard.
“His father felt bad for him, bought him a nice red Ferrari to make him feel good. He’s lonely, and so when he sees these people on the side of the road, he wants to help them and see if they’re hurt. I started screaming, ‘Pinocchio! Pinocchio!’ [in the scene], but they cut that out. And I just got back in my car and drove right away.
“That’s the whole character, all in 16 seconds. That, to me, is interesting! I wasn’t gonna be some guy in a swanky jacket with gold medallions, ‘Hey baby, get in my car.’ How many times have we seen that?”
And Cage insisted it is every actor’s dream to hear the words “go for it” on set if they’re starring in a cameo role.
He told Vulture: “If I’m in a cameo and I’m not getting paid, just let me do whatever I want and make some of my experimental visions come true.
“They said ‘go for it,’ the three most beautiful words any actor can hear on a set. And I’d do it again, by the way. I’d do it again, if someone offered me a cameo and gave me free rein to explore. I’d do it again in a second.”

Paramount developing new GI Joe movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Paramount is developing a new ‘G.I’. Joe’ movie.
The studio has enlisted Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, who wrote the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ movie and ‘Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol’, to pen the script for the upcoming flick based on the Hasbro toy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
There have been no details released on who will star in the movie, although Channing Tatum starred in the 2009 movie ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ and its 2013 follow-up ‘Retaliation’.
However, it is unlikely he will return as he previously admitted playing Duke in the 2009 movie was one of his biggest career regrets.
Reflecting on the film, Channing previously confessed: “I f***ing hate that movie. I hate that movie.
“I was pushed into that movie. From ‘Coach Carter’, they signed me to a three-picture deal. They give you the contract and they go, ‘Three-picture deal, here you go’. And as a young [actor] you’re like, ‘Oh my god, that sounds amazing, I’m doing that’.”
Channing was a fan of the cartoon growing up and admitted that, in a lot of senses, he was fortunate to be given the opportunity to star in a movie of that magnitude.
However, he conceded ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ failed to live up to his own expectations and he looks back on the movie – which he was contractually obliged to make – with numerous regrets.
Asked what was wrong with the film, he said: “The script wasn’t any good. The script wasn’t any good … And I didn’t want to do something that I … was a fan of since I was a kid and watched every morning growing up – and didn’t want to do something that was, one, bad and, two, I just didn’t know if I wanted to be GI Joe. [But there was] no option: ‘You’re doing this or we’re gonna sue you’.”

Amber Gill ‘set for Dancing on Ice’

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Gill is set to star on ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The ‘Love Island’ winner – who triumphed with Greg O’Shea – is said to have signed up to be a contestant on the new series of the ice skating competition, following in the footsteps of former Islanders Wes Nelson and Kem Cetinay.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “The ‘Dancing On Ice’ casting team are delighted with the decision to snap up Amber.
“‘Love Island’ contestants always do really well on the series as they are still fresh in everyone’s minds.
“Amber is a stunning girl and they know she’ll look fabulous in all the sequinned costumes. She has a gutsy personality, too, so will make excellent viewing.”
This comes just a day after it was confirmed her fellow former Islander pal Curtis Pritchard has joined ‘The Greatest Dancer’ as the receptionist.
He said: “To have left the Love Island villa just 10 days ago and to be so quickly given an opportunity to be a part of a show as amazing as ‘The Greatest Dancer’ is a dream come true!
“When I got the call I was so honoured to even be considered for this so the fact it’s happening I can’t quite believe!
“Dance is my passion and I can’t wait to meet all the contestants in the new revamped reception area.”
Amber and Curtis’ co-stars Maura Higgins and Ovie Soko have also wasted no time in finding other projects after the ITV2 dating show came to a conclusion last month.
Both Maura and Ovie have joined ‘This Morning’ as agony aunt and guest chef respectively.

Peaky Blinders season 5 air date confirmed

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Peaky Blinders’ will return to screens on August 25.
Steven Knight’s hit crime drama series is moving over from BBC Two to BBC One for season five and will follow the 1929 Wall Street Crash.
Tommy Shelby MP (Cillian Murphy) is back and will be joined by “charismatic politician” Oswald Mosley played by Sam Claflin.
The official plot synopsis reads: “Series five of Steven Knight’s crime family saga finds the world thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929. Opportunity and misfortune are everywhere.
“When Tommy Shelby MP (Cillian Murphy) is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family’s future but that of the entire nation.”
Steven previously teased his plans for the show to continue for another three series.
The showrunner is keen to take the story up to the beginning of World War Two in 1939, and he is up for bringing the programme to the big screen.
He said: “My ambition is to make it a story of a family between two wars, so I always wanted to end it with the first air raid siren in Birmingham 1939. Three more series.
“We’re getting approached to all kinds of things. The ballet, the musical, and a movie would be great.
“I wouldn’t want to do it at the very end, maybe in between two of the series.”
Steven remained coy on whether any big-name stars will be in series five, admitting he approaches celebrity cameos with caution because he wouldn’t want such actors to “swamp” the show.
He added: “It’s difficult because some great people come to us and say they want to be in it. Some people would swamp it if they were in it.
“So we try not to do that. But if a really good actor expresses an interest and there’s a role they would be interested in then…”
One big name who will not be appearing in the next season is infamous American crime boss Al Capone, who was referenced in the series four finale, which has since prompted speculation from fans that the character could turn up in the show.
Steven added: “There’s not going to be any Al Capone. There really isn’t.”

Kym Marsh keen for Strictly after more acting work

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh is keen to compete on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – but only when she has got more acting work “under her belt”.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress is to depart the cobbles later this year after playing Michelle Connor since 2006, and while she has her eye on the BBC Latin and ballroom show at some point, she would love to test herself in other roles first.
She said: “It’s a show I would potentially like to do at some point, but I want to get some more acting work under my belt post-Corrie first.”
Kym’s former co-star Catherine Tyldesley has signed up for this year’s ‘Strictly’, and the 43-year-old actress cannot wait to watch her pal in action.
Writing in her OK! magazine column, she added: “I don’t know what her dancing ability is like but It’ll be great to see her in it.”
Kym was heavily linked to ‘Strictly’ and ‘I’m A Celebrity… Me Out Of Here!’ earlier this year, following confirmation she is departing Weatherfield, but she shut down speculation she could be set to appear in either show in 2019.
She said at the time: “As wonderful as those shows are, I’m not leaving ‘Corrie’ after 13 years to do reality TV.”
Kym recently signed up to co-host ‘For Love Or Money’, a new documentary about “romance fraud”, alongside Ashley John-Baptiste.
The ‘Corrie’ favourite – who has been a victim of identity fraud – recently said: “This series has been a real eye-opener. It was relatable to me as, in the past, I discovered that my identity had been stolen so a scammer could use it.
“I was horrified. It’s such an awful crime and its long-lasting effects are emotional and financial.”

David Ayer in talks for war movie El-Alamein

OHMYGOSSIP — David Ayer is in talks to direct tank movie ‘El-Alamein’.
The ‘Suicide Squad’ filmmaker is said to be negotiating with Lionsgate about helming the motion picture, which will be based on a true story of desert battles in the Egyptian town during World War II, according to Deadline.
El-Alamein is best known for two infamous 1942 battles, which saw Britain’s Eighth Army in North Africa go up against German Field Marshall Erwin Rommel’s troops.
Production for the movie is expected to start early next year, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, and Thomas Augsberger all producing.
James Coyne has penned the most recent draft of the script, which was originally written by David Self.
Ayer is no stranger a tank battle movie having directed Brad Pitt in 2014’s ‘Fury’, which also starred Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, Jon Bernthal, Jason Isaacs and Scott Eastwood.
The film is set in the final days of World War II and tells the story of US tank crews based in Nazi Germany.
Ayer – who was once a Submarine Sonar Technician in the United States Navy – had a personal connection to the film.
He previously said: “I have a lot of family that served in the war, both my grandparents are from military and served in World War II.
“My uncle flew 35 bomber missions over Germany. They never talked about it. There was always this mystery over what happened to these gentlemen.
“They brought the war home whether or not they discussed it.
“I’m a veteran myself and I became fascinated how men in combat process trauma and the movie shows a little bit of why PTSD happens and how these dark family legacies for those who have had service men in their families – where did that come from?”

Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy) has previously teased that another instalment of the popular music comedy could be on the cards and now, the 36-year-old actress – who portrays Aubrey – has said she’d jump at the chance to reunite with the cast for another movie.
Anna – whose next role as Ginny in US comedy ‘Perfect Harmony’ sees her sing also – told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I’m down.
“I love those girls and I love playing my character, so if they needed me I would be there, for sure.”
‘Isn’t It Romantic’ producer Rebel said the franchise – which also starred Brittany Snow as Chloe and Anna Kendrick as Beca – could return as they “always wanna work together”.
She said: “I mean, I can’t say anything officially.
“We just love each other, all us girls.
“Definitely I’ll be filming another musical film in the next 12 months, I can say that. You’ll see me singing a bit more.
“But yeah, us ‘Pitch Perfect’ girls, we love each other and we always wanna work together.”
Rebel’s hints of a follow up to 2017’s ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ came after Adam DeVine said he’d sign up for a fourth film if the script is “funny” enough.
The 35-year-old actor – who played Bumper Allen – said: “If the script is funny enough … That is what it is. It has to be really funny. But I love working with Rebel [Wilson] and obviously, I love working with Anna [Kendrick]. Everyone in that movie I feel like I’m going to work with 30 more times.”

The 81-year-old comedian – known for being one half of double act Cannon and Ball alongside Bobby Ball – has signed up to appear in the ITV soap for a “brief stint”, and he can’t wait to head to the Dales.
He wrote on Twitter: “Excited to be able to announce that I’m doing a brief stint as ‘Derek’ in

Legendary England cricketer Ian Botham headed to the Dales in 1995 to open the then-newly refurbished Woolpack pub.

What’s more, TV presenter Fern Britton appeared in the show in 2005, and singers Tony Christie and Katherine Jenkins have also made cameos.

Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho gets release date

OHMYGOSSIP — Edgar Wright’s ‘Last Night in Soho’ will be released in September 2020.
The acclaimed director’s highly-secretive forthcoming psychological horror is reportedly slated for release in just over a year from now and production on the film is currently underway in London.
Although plot details for the film are being kept tightly under wraps, the movie will star Anya Taylor-Joy and Matt Smith in leading roles as well as Diana Rigg, Terence Stamp, Rita Tushingham, Michael Ajao, Synnøve Karlsen and the ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ filmmaker previously revealed that he wanted to make a movie about a place he’s “existed in”.
He said: “I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years.
“With ‘Hot Fuzz’ and ‘Shaun Of The Dead’, you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”
Anya, 23, previously teased the movie will provide a “wild ride” for audiences and admitted that after meeting the Edgar two years ago it’s “amazing” to finally be on set with him, and she has insisted that she and her co-stars are in for a challenging but rewarding time.
She said: “When Edgar and I first met a couple of years ago he said that he was writing a script he wanted me to be part of, but you know what movies are like. They’re ephemeral. They’re there and then they’re not there. It’s crazy.
“So the fact we’re actually on set now is amazing. I think it’s going to be a very wild ride for us filming it and it’s going to be a wild ride for the audience in the cinema that’s for sure. And of course it’s Edgar so it’s going to have some killer tunes.”
