Kevin Hart to star in and produce superhero comedy Night Wolf

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Hart is set to star in superhero comedy ‘Night Wolf’.
The ‘Night School’ actor is producing the third movie he’s done with STXFilms in a partnership with his own HartBeat Productions.
Hart previously announced ‘Black Friday’ and an untitled comedy with the studio.
‘Night Wolf’ sees the comedian play an “everyday guy” who discovers he’s the titular superhero after meeting his in-laws.
Hart “instantly fell in love” with the script penned by ‘Detective Pikachu’ screenwriters Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit.
He said: “I instantly fell in love with this pitch about an everyday guy who is meeting his in-laws for the first time and unwittingly discovers his [father-in-law]-to-be is secretly a superhero.”
Meanwhile, earlier this month, it was announced that the 40-year-old actor is set to star in a remake of ‘Uptown Saturday Night’.
Hart poised to join forces with director Rick Famuyiwa to make a reworked version of the 1974 Sidney Poitier-directed comedy.
Kenya Barris has penned the most recent draft of the remake and he is also expected to co-produce the project.
The original movie told the story of two friends who were robbed at a fancy nightclub.
One of the items they had stolen was a winning lottery ticket and the duo spend the rest of the evening desperately trying to recover the ticket.
Despite being one of Hollywood’s most in-demand stars, Kevin previously claimed that fame isn’t “real”.
The stand-up star conceded that fame can be easily “snatched from you”.
He explained: “This s**t ain’t real. It can be snatched from you. Look at how many stars they build up to beat down.
“Look at Britney Spears when she was the hottest thing ever. Then Britney went through a meltdown and everybody is like ‘Well we don’t know about this f***ing chick here.’ Then she got back again and everybody was like, ‘We love you Britney!’ It was like ‘What?!’ You’re f***ing all over the place, people.’
“It’s not like your life changes because of the level of success that you have. At the end of the day people are people.
“If you come up to take a picture of me and I’m with my kids, I’m gonna politely tell you, ‘Hey man, I appreciate your support, but I’m on daddy time right now.’ As a person you should understand that.”

Laura Carmichael almost quit acting before Downton Abbey

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Carmichael almost quit acting before ‘Downton Abbey’.
The 33-year-old actress, who will reprise her role as Lady Edith Crawley in the big screen adaptation of Julian Fellowes’ period drama, has admitted that she had thought about quitting the business before the show because she could not get any work.
Speaking to Town And Country magazine, Laura explained: “I was so close to not being a working actress. I had a hard time. It’s such a painful experience, wanting to act and not doing it, and trying to figure out how to get in there.
“I went to audition, and because it was so top-secret, I didn’t get the script before I arrived.
“I thought I’d probably have one line, but I had five scenes. I was reading them, going, ”My God, this is a proper part! Why are they seeing me for it?'”
And she admitted that when she finally landed the role, she was incredibly nervous on set.
Laura explained: “On my first day, I think Jim [Carter] saw I was like a rabbit in the headlights – I had to come in, speak, and serve myself some breakfast, which seemed utterly terrifying – and he said, ‘Why don’t you come over here, lovey, and I’ll help you?’
“It makes me feel very fortunate to have worked with these great British actors.”
Laura also revealed she was thrilled to return to the series for a movie adaptation, as ‘Downton Abbey’ is also the place where she met boyfriend Michael C Fox, who played footman Andrew Parker.
She said: “It has changed all of my life. When you are able to work, and love it, it is such a joy. And I’ve fallen in love and made wonderful friends – how lucky am I?”

Jeremy Clarkson would pay for mistakes on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Clarkson would cough up the money if he made a mistake on ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’.
The host of the quiz show says if he ever caused a contestant to lose money by giving a wrong answer when a player has opted for the Ask The Host lifeline, and it was within “the hundreds”, he’d pay the contestant out of his own pocket.
However, he insisted he gotten much “better” at the questions on the upcoming series.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “If it was a low amount – in the hundreds – definitely.
“If I got it wrong though I’d have an uncomfortable night.
“I’ve never cost anyone money. I’ve said I don’t know if I don’t.
“But this time round I’ve been better. I’ve been lucky. They’ve asked me questions I’ve known the answers to.”
Earlier this year, a school teacher reached the final question – but decided against playing for the £1 million.
John Robinson walked away with a £500,000 prize after opting against trying to correctly guess which former British Prime Minister had never served as foreign secretary.
The teacher made the right decision as he told Jeremy he would have incorrectly said Anthony Eden, instead of Sir Winston Churchill.
John was disappointed when he discovered his friend Martin – who he earlier rang to help him on a question about the Suez Canal – knew it was Winston but was not too upset because he knew he “needed” him for the £250,000 question.
He said: “Had I saved him for the final question, I’d be a millionaire. But I can’t be too disappointed because I needed him for the £250,000 engineering question.
“There’s a slight bit of disappointment, which I know sounds ridiculous given it’s more money than I’ve ever seen in my life.”
The competitor admitted he had no regrets about playing things safe and walking away with the money, as he claimed he could not have “faced” speaking to his girlfriend if he had answered incorrectly and left with his banked £64,000.
He said: “I am not sure I could have faced speaking to Chloe afterwards. I don’t think she would have forgiven me.
“Having never seen that amount of money in my life, I wasn’t going to risk it. It’s not a feeling I would’ve liked to experience.”
‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ returns to ITV next week.

Hollyoaks cast loved filming Maxine Minniver’s ‘living funeral’

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Hollyoaks’ cast had “a lot of fun” filming Maxine Minniver’s living funeral.
In scenes set to air next week, Nikki Sanderson’s character – who suffers from Munchausen’s syndrome where she pretends to be ill – tells her new husband Damon Kinsella (Jacob Roberts) that her tumour has grown, and he decides to throw the unusual celebration to show her how much people care.
Nikki said: “It was a lot of fun, especially because the people that I were getting to work with at the living funeral I’ve worked with a lot and I absolutely adore. We had a really good crew as well so it was fun to film.”
The living funeral – which features “lots of flowers and lights and lanterns – is as over the top as viewers would expect, and Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) is furious about the event.
She only agrees to keep quiet if Maxine uses the day to come clean about her illness.
Soap star Anna admitted despite the “serious” nature of the storyline, the atmosphere on set was much more lighthearted.
She added: “There are lots of flowers and lights and lanterns and there’s a big throne and a ginormous picture of Maxine, it’s very over the top and very ostentatious.
“This obviously makes Sienna even more fuming when she goes in and sees all of the effort that Damon has gone to…
“It was fun [to film]. As a story, even though it’s about a serious thing, it is quite fun to film because Maxine is being so extra and I’ve never heard of a living funeral before.
“It’s was quite funny when we walked in and saw the life-size picture of Nikki at the back!”

Jamie Laing says dance background won’t help him on Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Laing insists his contemporary dance background will not help him on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star is to take part in the BBC One Latin and ballroom dance show and although he studied theatre and performance at university, he insisted he does not have an advantage over the other contestants.
Speaking on ‘The Greatest Dancer’ podcast, Jamie said: “Contemporary dance you can do anything you want, I feel like if you’re given some ribbons and you roll about on the floor, everyone is going to be like ‘that is contemporary’.”
And Jamie admitted that his contemporary dance module had put him off dancing for a long time.
He explained: “When it came to finally enrolling in my course, people had already picked what they wanted to do and the only thing that was left was contemporary dance.
“So for the whole first year I had to do contemporary dance. As I was the only boy, I had to be the bulb in the flowers and all the girls were petals.
“All of my friends were sitting in the front row and they were all laughing at me and I thought ‘this sucks’, so my experience of dance has been skewed a bit by that.
“It was the worst thing in the world, I’d wake up every day and think ‘why have I done this.'”
Jamie, 30, previously revealed he had to keep his ‘Strictly’ news a secret for a month and didn’t even tell his mother.
He said: “I’ve known for about a month. I’m not very good at keeping a secret, especially from my mum. I couldn’t tell my mum.
“So now, ‘Hey, surprise mum!’ She’s very excited. It’s one of those shows that not only you get to learn a talent, but at last she’ll be proud of me.
“It’s an amazing experience, I can’t wait.
“I’ve spoken to a lot of people who have done it in the past and everyone says it’s the scariest but best thing. I want to make my mum proud.”
Jamie will compete against contestants including Anneka Rice, Will Bayley, Michelle Visage, Viscountess Emma Weymouth, Karim Zeroual, Mike Bushell, Catherine Tyldesley, Saffron Barker, David James, Chris Ramsey and Emma Barton for the Glitterball Trophy.

After Adam claimed Iqra had a secret boyfriend, Habiba confronted her sister but was shocked by the truth.
After Iqra told her family she was seeing someone, she fled outside and her sister followed her and said: “I came to say thank you. I mean, you could have just thrown a coughing fit or something. You didn’t have to make all that up.”
Iqra replied: “I didn’t. I do have someone.”
Stunned Habiba said: “So what Adam said is true? Well, that’s great then. So, who is he?”
Iqra snapped: “Her. Who is she? It’s a woman. Think dadi and dada will be alright with that?”

Yewande Biala: Skin colour made it harder on Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Yewande Biala claims she “struggled” on ‘Love Island’ because of the colour of her skin.
The 23-year-old scientist has insisted herself, Iranian Islander Anna Vakili and even eventual winner Amber Gill – who is mixed race – all found it hard in their hunt for romance.
Speaking on the BBC’s 1Xtra Talks, she said: “We didn’t find anyone who liked us. It was always someone coming in and saying, ‘My type is blonde and petite.’
“We’d just look at each other and say, ‘They’re obviously not here for us.’ ”
Yewande – who left the show after Danny Williams chose to pair up with Arabella Chi instead of her – also insisted it is tougher “being black and in the media”.
She explained: “When I got into this I realised being black is hard, but being black and in the media is harder.
“You have to stand out and you have to do more and it can get quite frustrating. You feel like you’re not doing enough, but just keep pushing to keep doing what you’re doing and someone will see how amazing you are.
“I tried not to read any articles about myself because I didn’t want to get upset. I think they were trying to label me as the angry black woman, which was kind of insane.
“Not once in the villa did I ever raise my voice or feel like I acted in that way, even considering the circumstances I was in.”
Despite her struggles – and being dumped – Yewande previously said she has no regrets over her decision to head into the villa.
She said: “I think it was the right decision for me to go on ‘Love Island’.
“What better way to break down your walls than to go on a love show that forces you to open up a little bit more. And that’s what I did, [but] it did take me a while…”

Amanda Mealing: Casualty exit will be ‘reset’ for Connie Beauchamp

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Mealing says ‘Casualty’ bosses are “resetting” Connie Beauchamp after her exit.
The 52-year-old star’s alter-ego was written out of the show during the series finale over the weekend after confiding in Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson) about her addiction to prescription drugs, before she was ordered to leave the emergency department.
Giving viewers hope for the character’s future, Amanda told Digital Spy: “We are resetting Connie, which is really exciting for me. We’ve seen her vulnerable side, but I am now pushing to get back into that strong, strident Connie that viewers love.
“I go back to work very soon, so she will be off screen for a while. But she will come back so much stronger.
“When you hit rock bottom, there’s no one else left but you. You have to look at yourself, and that’s what she does. She has a chance to look at herself.”
Amanda – who originally appeared on sister show ‘Holby City’ from 2004 to 2010 before joining the cast of ‘Casualty’ four years later – explained her character’s heart-breaking exit has seen her hit “rock bottom”.
She added: “She knows that there is no one left to help her. She has to do something about it. This is her rock bottom and when you hit rock bottom, you have to admit to yourself where you are.
“And that’s where the journey of recuperation begins. It is so sad to see this happen to such a beautifully strong, independent woman.
“I’ve always been so proud to have an example of a woman who’s independent of a man, which isn’t the usual portrayal on film and TV.”

Joanna Lumley calls for Brits to stop ‘needless spending’ on bottled water

OHMYGOSSIP — Joanna Lumley has called for Brits to stop “needlessly spending their cash on bottled water”.
The ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ star and TV presenter Gethin Jones have joined forces with BRITA for the ‘Just Tap. Filtered’ campaign, to urge the nation to stop purchasing single use plastic bottles for consuming at home.
Joanna said: “There is no reason people should be needlessly spending their cash on bottled water, when by simply adding a BRITA filter they could be opting for great-tasting, healthy – tap water instead.
“I want to urge everyone to do their bit to make small changes that make a big difference. Not only will it reap huge benefits for the planet, but it will cost a lot less too.”
It comes after new research by BRITA found more than half (55 per cent) of bottled water is consumed at home, with most citing taste as a reason.
More than a third of Brits (35 per cent) have called for manufacturers to try to inspire a change, but 21 per cent believe the government should take action.
Gethin added: “I’m looking forward to showing people the difference that this small swap can make, because even one person changing a habit will have a big environmental impact long-term.”
Rebecca Widdowson, marketing director for BRITA UK said: “Single-use plastic bottled water has widely been reported as one of the biggest contributors to landfill and ocean waste, and consumers believe they should be offered more alternatives.
“Using a BRITA filter will reduce the taste impairing impurities found in tap water meaning you can get great tasting water, with all the natural benefits it brings, straight from the tap.”

Molly-Mae Hague: Nothing will burst my post-Love Island bubble

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague says “nothing can burst” her post-‘Love Island’ bubble, despite receiving vile “death threats”.
The 20-year-old star and her beau Tommy Fury, also 20, were runners up on the ITV2 dating show this summer, and she has shrugged off speculation she is having therapy due to online trolls since leaving the villa.
She told OK! Online: “I’ve been having the same [post-‘Love Island’] after-care as everyone else. I’ve taken the support that ITV provided and it’s helped.
“People keep sending messages like, ‘Pray for Molly-Mae, I hope she’s OK,’ but I’m literally sat here loving my life. I’m so happy, nothing can burst my bubble; what the public think is irrelevant.”
Despite Molly-Mae’s defiant stance, she admitted is was “hard to hear” some of the cruel comments being sent her way.
The social media influencer added: “I knew I was going to get my fair share of hate but I didn’t know it would be to this extent.
“To be called fake and all these horrible names like ‘Money-Mae’ when I haven’t actually done anything wrong was a shock. It is hard to hear.
“I did [read the negative comments] at the start but then I had to stop; I think it’s best not to. Some of the stuff that’s been said about me is pretty vile. There are death threats, which really isn’t nice.”
The romantic pair recently said their love for each other means more than not being crowned winners of the reality show after new couple Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea emerged victorious.
Molly-Mae insisted: “You’re not in there for that, honestly. People need to realise that’s not even in your mind when you’re in that villa.
“You’re not thinking about the final, you’re not thinking about winning. It’s not even in your head.
“You’re just thinking in the moment, making friends, making memories – I know it sounds cringey but it really is.”

Amber Gill was asked to go on Love Island 2018

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Gill was asked to go on ‘Love Island’ last year but rejected the show because she had a boyfriend.
The ‘Love Island’ 2019 winner – who triumphed on the ITV2 dating programme with Greg O’Shea – has revealed she was approached via Instagram to appear in the fourth series in 2018, but had to turn the chance down.
She said: “I didn’t actually apply to go in the villa, I got asked via Instagram.
“I did get asked the year before but I had a boyfriend – but let’s not talk about him.
“When I got asked [this year] I thought, ‘Why the hell not, let’s try it.’ ”
The 22-year-old star also admitted she is unlikely to return to her career of performing treatments as a beauty therapist, but still wants to speak about beauty because that is “what [she] knows”.
She said: “I don’t necessarily think I’ll be a beauty therapist anymore, performing treatments.
“But I’m definitely keeping my skincare, haircare, anything like that.
“Beauty is what I know and that’s what I know I can talk about.”
Amber is flying out to Ireland this weekend to meet Greg’s family following their ‘Love Island’ triumph, and insisted he is “lusher” outside of the villa.
She said: “I’m going to see Greg this weekend. I’m going to fly over to Ireland and spend the weekend with him.
“He’s lusher in real life, he’s so fit.”
Amber admits her life has been “absolutely crazy” since she departed the show, and she didn’t expect to even be in the villa “that long” because she feared her “harsh” personality may put other Islanders off.
Speaking in a Q&A on her Instagram, she added: “Life after the villa has been absolute crazy, I haven’t had a minute to myself.
“I’ve been going back and forth between Newcastle and London, but it’s great I absolute love it.
“I don’t think it’s sunk in for me and Greg that we won. We weren’t expecting it at all. It was absolutely amazing. It wasn’t in my sights when I first went in.
“I half miss the villa and half don’t. Because everything that’s happening now is amazing and I absolutely love it and I love being out and being able to speak to my family.
“But the villa was so cute and enclosed.
“I didn’t expect to be in the villa that long. I know I can be quite harsh and people take us the wrong way, so I was worried people wouldn’t get my personality.
“But I think the Islanders understood I was joking the majority of the time.”

Mark Jordon hopeful of Emmerdale return

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Jordon is hopeful he will get the chance to return to ‘Emmerdale’ after he was cleared of attacking a pensioner.
The 54-year-old star was found not guilty of affray, unlawful wounding and assault by beating last week, following a row in a pub beer garden, and he would love to reprise his role as Daz Spencer if he was offered the chance to return to the ITV soap.
He said: “It [his character’s possible return] was left open thank goodness. That building used to be part of where I filmed ‘Heartbeat’ and where I filmed shows before that when I was just a youth.
“To be back in ‘Emmerdale’ and see people who trained were now running the camera team and running the make-up team, I love that building so much.
“So yes, the opportunity, possibly to go back, is something I am holding dear to.”
Mark revealed his fiancée, ‘Emmerdale’ actress Laura Norton (Kerry Wyatt), would hear him “shouting out” in his sleep ahead of the trial.
He said: “There were a lot of times Laura told me I was shouting out in my sleep and I had hives. It sounds like a little violin moment, but I’m trying to say the stress accumulates and it comes out in ways you don’t know.”
But the former ‘Heartbeat’ actor admits he felt “calm” during the four to five-hour wait for the jury’s verdict, following the seven-day trial, because he had his friends, family and co-stars helping to distract him and keep him busy.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: “What’s weird is over the seven days I became very calm. My work colleagues arrived every day, my friends and family, Laura’s parents, they arrived every day, so that waiting period was spent with colleagues who distracted me, kept me busy, kept talking to me.
“As weird as it is, there was a calm. I know Laura got upset and my friends were quite nervous, but I felt quite censored if that makes sense.”
Following the verdict, several of Mark’s co-stars admitted they were happy for him.
Danny Miller – who plays Aaron Sugden-Dingle – tweeted: “Couldn’t be more thrilled for such a lovely man.
Justice, finally. So happy for him and his family, who can now begin to rebuild their lives following such a horrendous ordeal! (sic)”
Lucy Pargeter – who portrays Chas Dingle – tweeted: “justice”
Samantha Giles (Bernice Blackstock) wrote: “Justice at last!!!!! (sic)”
