Ryan and Adam Thomas ‘in talks’ for new game show after soap stardom: ‘It worked for Ant and Dec’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Thomas and his brother Adam have reportedly been lined up to host a game show.
The 39-year-old actor is best known for previously playing Jason Grimshaw on the ITV1 soap opera ‘Coronation Street’, whilst Adam, 35, recently returned to his role as Donte Charles in the BBC One school drama ‘Waterloo Road’ but now the pair are said to be gearing up to “bring plenty of laughs” as the presenters of ’99 to Beat’, with an insider comparing their potential to TV legends Ant and Dec.
An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “This game show will bring plenty of laughs and needs happy-go-lucky hosts at the helm. Ryan and Adam fit the bill perfectly and it would be great to see the brothers working together as TV hosts for the first time.
“The could be a really exciting new chapter for them and should be a lot of fun. They are so natural together. Hey, it worked for Ant and Dec…”
Both brothers are regularly seen on reality TV, with former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star Ryan – who announced his retirement from acting in 2021 – winning ITV’s ‘Dancing on Ice’ in early 2024 whilst just months earlier his brother competed in BBC rival ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The game show is already a hit format in seven countries and sees 100 contestants go head-to-head in a series of challenges, all attempting to not finish last in order to make it through to the next round.
Producer Katie Manley, boss of production company Initial, said: “What’s brilliant about it is that anyone has a real shot at winning. Whether you’re 18 or 80, players don’t need to be experts in one particular skill. Winning is not important – it’s not coming last that counts! The human stories that sit alongside the gameplay will provide heart, humour and drama throughout.”

Davina McCall feared age would make her ‘irrelevant’

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall used to worry she’d “become irrelevant” as she got older.
The 56-year-old presenter used to “fear” the ageing process and thought it would be “uncool and awful” but she’s found herself happier than ever before in her 50s.
Asked what she’d tell the Davina of a decade ago, she told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “Getting older is so much better than you think it’s going to be. I’m 56 now and proud of my age – I don’t try to hide it.
“I used to fear getting older, that I’d become irrelevant.
“I felt as though getting older was uncool and awful, but actually, I’m happier in this decade than I’ve ever been.
“I’m a bit calmer, a bit wiser, less tough on myself.”
And the ‘My Mum, Your Dad’ host is ready to embrace a “second spring” in her life, particularly now her three children are older.
She said: “My life was all about tiny little kids and the carnage that ensued.
“I was a taxi service non-stop for years and years. Suddenly it’s all quite quiet.
“I didn’t twiddle my thumbs for long though. I got a second wind – my second spring.
“I’m not heading into the autumn of my life, I’m going into a second spring and after that comes summer, so it’s going to be great.
“With getting older, you get a little bit more freedom back.
“I’m more open to things and saying yes to almost everything.”
The ‘Masked Singer’ judge hopes young women today grow up less fearful of the menopause than her own generation because it’s much more widely discussed nowadays.
Asked the advice she’d give young women about menopause, she said: “I don’t want them to be frightened.
“I don’t want our conversations to put the fear of God into them about rowing older.
“What I hope is they see me as somebody who is post-menopausal and living my best life.
“I’m super happy and really enjoying myself, but it was harder to get here than I hope it will be for the next generation, because nobody was talking about it.”

‘There’s something mystical about her’: George Miller hails Furiosa lead Anya Taylor-Joy

OHMYGOSSIP — George Miller has praised the “mystical” qualities of ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ actress Anya Taylor-Joy.
The 79-year-old filmmaker has helmed the post-apocalyptic action prequel flick and felt that Anya had all the right attributes to play a young Imperator Furiosa after seeing her performance in the movie ‘Last Night in Soho’.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Monday (08.04.24), George said: “There’s something mystical about her, and yet, there’s an accessibility. I learned that she was somebody who is very, very disciplined, even though she’s very young.
“She was a ballet dancer. (Charlize Theron, who played Furiosa in the film ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’) was a ballet dancer. I understand the physical discipline as well as the emotional discipline they have. So all of that led to Anya being in ‘Furiosa’.”
Chris Hemsworth portrays Warlord Dementus in the film and George described his Australian compatriot as “the complete article”.
He explained: “I knew the character but I never thought of Chris until we met and we talked, and I realised he was somebody with a lot more dimensions to him than I had initially thought.
“I mean, for me, he is, as they say in Australia, the complete article. He’s somebody who in every way is exemplary. He responded very well to the material.”
‘Furiosa’ is the fifth picture in the ‘Mad Max’ franchise that started back in 1979 and George confessed that he finds the series “very addictive”.
The ‘Happy Feet’ director said: “(It was) almost impossible to do action sequences in the streets of Melbourne in the city in the modern day… the idea was to set it in a dystopian future simply because we could play in empty streets – and that was a really lucky thing because accidentally the film, which otherwise would have been present-day naturalistic, turned out to be more allegoric, unwittingly, and that’s what led to ‘Mad Max’ and that’s why I’m still doing them, because they’re very addictive.”

Mary Elizabeth Winstead not expecting more Birds of Prey films

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary Elizabeth Winstead doesn’t think there’ll be any more ‘Birds of Prey’ movies.
The 39-year-old actress was under contract to play Huntress in multiple films in the franchise but after the first picture – which saw Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn team up with a gang of other female heroes – proved to be a box office flop on release in 2020, she admitted it’s unlikely she’ll be returning to the role.
She told Independent.co.uk: “I love that film, even if it’s polarising. It’s got people who love it, and people who didn’t love it so much. And it wasn’t a flop by any means, but I think it also wasn’t quite enough of a success to keep on with it.
“Which is unfortunate, because I loved playing her. But I was really thankful that I got to do something left of centre in the superhero world. We got to be a bit weird. But that also sort of explains why my movies don’t make money, because I tend to choose the weird ones.”
Mary admitted she has never had a “good sense” of knowing what will be successful.
She said: “I’ve never had a good sense of picking projects that make money. That’s just never been how my brain works.”
The ‘Ahsoka’ actress always looks for roles with substance.
She admitted: “I’ve never got excited about being the girlfriend or being the love interest in a film, or just batting my eyes.”
And it was her 2012 movie ‘Smashed’, an indie in which she played an alcoholic teacher, that made her less anxious about her work.
She said: “In those days, we were all looking at box office numbers and only doing films and not TV or streaming.
“It feels like the power of that has been taken away now.”

Jordan North reveals why he ‘couldn’t turn down’ Capital Breakfast after replacing Roman Kemp

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordan North “couldn’t turn down” the job Capital Breakfast.
The 34-year-old star had no plans to leave Radio 1 when he was offered the chance to take the reins on the weekday show following the sudden departure of long-running host Roman but began his presenting duties on Monday (08.04.24), just days after celebrating his brother’s stag-do in Spin.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I’ve been burning the candle at both ends. I’m the best man. There were no s*** tattoos, we were on our best behaviour. I’m stag-do’d out now.
“I wasn’t looking to leave but then this opportunity came up and you don’t turn Capital down. I know that sounds corny but it’s a massive breakfast show. I told three people, because I had to keep it quiet, and they all said, ‘Go for it’.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ star now joins occasional ‘This Morning’ host Sian Welby and fellow former Radio 1 host Chris Stark on weekday mornings but is still close to his old colleagues.
He said: “I know that sounds corny but it’s a massive breakfast show. I told three people, because I had to keep it quiet, and they all said, ‘Go for it’. I have loads of good friends [at BBC Radio 1]. When I rang Vick [Hope] she was great. She told me to get a natural light machine, which helps wake you up. They all texted me before the first show.
“Greg James said good luck. They pit us as rivals but really we’re all mates.”
‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ star Roman, 31, first announced his departure from the network in February after almost a decade on air.
He said: “Capital is my family, you as the wonderful listeners that you’ve been, you’ve been with me at my best times and my absolute lowest … Capital and Global have helped change me. I was 22 years old when I first joined Capital and it’s built me into the man that I am today, it is all that I know.”

EastEnders’ Cheryl Fergison slams state of A+E after horror trip: ‘I’ve seen things I can’t unsee’

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl Fergison is “not shocked” that the wait times in A+E have increased.
The 58-year-old actress – who is best known for previously starring as Heather Trott on the BBC One soap opera ‘EastEnders – had to visit the emergency department over the weekend because she needed treatment for an infection but is not surprised at having to wait 24 hours.
She told The Mirror: “From my experience I am not shocked at the figures that have been quoted on waiting times in A+E and its increase over the years.”
The ‘Hard Cell’ star initially took to Instagram where she explained to fans that she had been left in “complete agony” and had seen things that she cannot forget following the hospital dash.
She said: “I’ve seen things in the last 24 hours I can’t unsee. I’ve been in complete agony. There are simply no beds, no wards, no anything. People are waiting up to 60 hours to be put on a ward.”
Chery recounted seeing a man who had sat waiting for treatment for more than 24 hours without being given a bed and claimed that while the NHS is “amazing”, the system as it stands is currently in a “broken” state.
She added: “I met a man who had been there over 30 hours and still hadn’t got a bed.
“We’ve got a broken system. It’s shot but it’s still amazing and we still have it, just, by a thread.”
Cheryl – who is married to Yassim al-Jemoni but has 24-year-old son Alex with ex-husband Jamshed Saddiqi – was treated in her local hospital in Blackpool.
A spokesperson for the hospital said: “We thank people for their patience.”

Gloria Hunniford reflects on death of daughter Caron Keating: ‘I just couldn’t bear it…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gloria Hunniford became “deeply disturbed” when she lost her daughter Caron.
The 83-year-old broadcaster “cannot believe” that it has been two whole decades since TV star Caron died following a seven-year battle with breast cancer at the age of 41 and admitted that while some days it feels like so much time has gone by since, others it feels like no time has passed at all.
She told Best magazine: “I really can’t believe it. Some days it feels like 100 years. Other days, it feels far more recent. I was in such a terrible state back then. I just couldn’t bear it.
“To lose a child, in my opinion, is the worst thing that can happen to anyone. I would worry about what my children would do if I died young, but you never think it could be one of them. I was deeply sad, deeply disturbed.”
The ‘Loose Women’ star- who also has sons Paul and Michael with ex-husband Don Keating – set up the Caron Keating Foundation after receiving a letter from a woman urging her “do something” following the tragedy and admitted that since doing so she has learned to “live around” her loss even though the “black hole” of grief will always be there.
Gloria added: “It doesn’t matter what you do but – just to do something in their name – do good, it’s part of the healing when you lose anyone close. Otherwise, it will take you out. It was that stark for me but I knew that I had a lovely husband… plus Caron’s lovely children, my sons. In time, you learn to live around it.
“She is gone, the black hole remains, but you have to find a way to re-join life and for me, it was the foundation.”

Ralf Little wants to play a villain.
The 44-year-old actor has just left ‘Death in Paradise’ after four years playing DI Neville Parker and now he’s ready to take on something very different to the “nice guys” he usually portrays on screen.
He told Big Issue magazine: “I want to push myself out of my comfort zone and do more things that scare me or that I maybe feel a bit intimidated by.
“And I’d love to play a villain.
“It would be so nice to just play someone horrible – I’ve spent my whole career playing nice guys. I want to surprise myself.”
Ralf hopes his ‘Death in Paradise’ stint has changed how he is perceived because he has spent so long being associated with ‘The Royle Family’, in which he played Antony from 1998 to 2012.
Asked if he thinks playing Neville has changed how people see him, he said: “Massively. I’ve had such a varied career and done so much, but ‘The Royle Family’ was so iconic and souch a touchstone of the cultural landscape that it’s only natural people are still talking about it.
“And I welcome that, because I loved every moment of it.
“But now people are talking about ‘Death in Paradise’ just as much.
“That evolution feels very satisfying. It’s the next step of my life.
“I was a kid when I did ‘The Royle Family’. I’m a middle-aged man now.”
The actor relished the chance to take on the “incredible challenge” of leading a show for the first time with ‘Death in Paradise’.
He said: “I’ve been incredibly lucky to have the career I’ve had. But until I was 39 years old, everything I had been in that had been a success was a big ensemble show.
“Leading a show is a big responsibility and I’d never had the chance to shoulder that so you never know if you can do it.
“No one took the gamble on me before.
“’Death in Paradise’ is beloved by millions. I was a fan before I went in.
“So it was an incredible challenge and unbelievably daunting.
“But it was so satisfying and exciting to make it work.
“Also, it didn’t hurt that I was doing it in the Caribbean.”

Stephen Mangan is terrified of being “stuck in the same thing”.
The ‘Split’ star is only too happy to juggle jobs including acting, children’s author, TV presenter and radio host because he has a “low boredom threshold” and feels the need to always “stretch” himself with no clear path in mind.
He told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I have a low boredom threshold and love the fact that at my age I’m still getting offered stuff I’ve never done before.
“I have a fear of being stuck in the same thing. For some people that’s calming and reassuring – we all have mortgages and bills to pay and I know some people find it hard without a routine or steady income.
“Careers also rise and fall and maybe I won’t get any work for a while. But I relish that challenge.
“I constantly need to stretch myself. I don’t know where I’ll be next year and I like not knowing.”
And while he may be very busy, Stephen – who has three sons with wife Louise Delamere – is keen to get on stage, but admitted theatre roles don’t always work well with family life.
He explained: “There are lots of theatre roles I’d love to have a go at, but plays are difficult with family life, because six nights a week you’re on stage and you’re not that good in the mornings either.
“There aren’t enough weeks in the year, or years in my life. There’s still so much I want to do.”
The 55-year-old star can soon be seen on screen hosting ITV’s new game show ‘The Fortune Hotel’, and he admitted it was an easy job to say yes to because filming took place over a month in the Caribbean island of Grenada.
He quipped: “That had nothing to do with me saying yes, I swear.
“I’d have been happy doing it in Neasden.
“Although I did have to tone down my phone calls home…”

Former BBC boss Sir Paul Fox dead at 98

OHMYGOSSIP — Former BBC One boss Sir Paul Fox has died.
The late executive – who was best known for launching shows including ‘The Two Ronnies’ and ‘Dad’s Army’ and inventing BBC Sports Personality of the Year – has passed away at the age of 98, his family announced on Tuesday (09.04.24).
Paying tribute to the broadcasting legend, current BBC Director General Tim Davie said in a statement: “Sir Paul had a towering career in television – not just with the BBC – but across the industry.
“Few people have had such a broad and lasting impact on the TV landscape, commissioning shows that audiences have loved for decades and still love. From Sports Personality of the Year and Panorama to the Two Ronnies, Dad’s Army and Parkinson, his legacy is unmatched.
“He was one of the best TV executives from a golden era in television. He will be hugely missed.”
Paul, who was born in 1925, was a serviceman in Parachute Regiment but began his broadcasting career when he joined the BBC in the 1950s as a newsreel scriptwriter before editing ‘Panorama’ and ‘Sportsview’.
He then became Controller of BBC One, where he oversaw a number of hugely successful shows including ‘Parkinson’, ‘Dad’s Army’ and ‘The Two Ronnies’.
He moved to Yorkshire TV in 1973, where he ultimately became Managing Director, but left in 1988 and returned to the BBC as Managing Director of Network Television.
He retired in 1991 and received a knighthood for services to TV the same year.
TV producer Richard Marson paid tribute to the “broadcasting Titan”.
He wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Sir Paul Fox deserved the overused term ‘legend’ – he was a broadcasting Titan. On a personal note, he contributed to several projects of mine – from the TV Centre doc to the biographies of Verity Lambert and Biddy Baxter. Razor sharp, acerbic, wise and kind.”

‘She stayed true to herself’: Jack O’Connell respects Amy Winehouse’s individuality

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack O’Connell admires the individuality of Amy Winehouse.
The 33-year-old actor stars opposite Marisa Abela in the biopic ‘Back to Black’ as Amy’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil and respects the way that the ‘Rehab’ hitmaker was able to remain authentic in the music industry during her tragically brief career.
Jack said at the picture’s world premiere in London on Monday (08.04.24): “She didn’t waver, she didn’t let herself get parcelled and packaged and marketed. She stayed true to herself and as a young twenty something to do that and not give in, I just have a tremendous amount of respect for her.”
The ‘This Is England’ actor had the opportunity to meet with Blake before filming and was struck by the “palpable admiration” he has for the late singer.
He recalled: “I didn’t go in there to study him. It wasn’t really for research, just out of courtesy. But what I did take away was every time he mentioned Amy, every time he talked about Amy – because a lot of the time we were just chatting about football – it came from a place of very palpable admiration. A mixed bag of emotions, sure, but it was all very genuine.”
O’Connell also explained how he was wowed by Marisa’s “wildly thrilling” depiction of Winehouse.
He said: “Marisa Abela is a phenomenal actor. How she adopted and embodied this physicality and personality was wildly thrilling.”

Marisa Abela kept respect at the centre of Amy Winehouse portrayal in Back to Black

OHMYGOSSIP — Marisa Abela had to do “justice” to Amy Winehouse in ‘Back to Black’.
The 27-year-old star plays the late singer in Sam Taylor-Johnson’s biopic and said that respect for the ‘Tears Dry on Their Own’ artist was at the heart of her performance – particularly when she got to met Winehouse’s parents Mitch and Janis on set.
Speaking at the movie’s world premiere in London on Monday (08.04.24), Marisa said: “Once I was on set I was really trying to stay focused on the job at hand because at the end of the day the most important thing is that we try and do justice to Amy in this film.
“It requires a lot of respect and a lot of empathy and understanding of the intricacies around that moment.
“What I saw when I met Amy’s parents were people that were grieving and, especially if I was in hair and makeup already, it was just about being respectful.”
Marisa also reflected on the “nerve-wracking moment” that she got to adopt Amy’s famous beehive hairstyle for the first time as she had spent a considerable amount of “internal” time preparing to mimic the look.
She explained: “It was a nerve-wracking moment because I had done so much internal work and suddenly here it was externally. I had my eyes closed for a lot of it but it was amazing and you really felt the weight of it but it just pushed me on even more to continue the work that I was doing as an actor.”

BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty opens up on life of pain living with adenomyosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Naga Munchetty has spent “all her life” smiling through pain due to an undiagnosed medical condition.
In 2022, the ‘BBC Breakfast’ presenter discovered she had adenomyosis – a gynaecologic condition where the womb’s lining begins to grow into the muscles in its wall – and she admits it has been a huge relief to finally discover the cause of her discomfort after living with chronic pain for decades.
When asked if she had spent years smiling through the pain in an interview with the Metro newspaper, she said: “Yes , I have done all my life – though my GCSEs, through my A-Levels, through my degree and every job I had.
“I was once one of those people who just thought that if I admitted to my pain or spoke about it, I would be considered weak. And no one wants to be seen as weak.
“I don’t think that now. I’m older and I can manage my pain and I’ve had certain treatments that help me manage my condition.”
Naga, 49, is now at a place where she can manage her pain, but if things become too uncomfortable or debilitating she now has the confidence to say so and get help.
She explained: “It’s much more manageable. And because I’ve spoken so publicly about it, if I am really struggling, I can say so without worrying about being seen as someone who is using it as an excuse.”
Naga is currently gearing up for a general election and she hopes that the politicians who appear on ‘BBC Breakfast’ looking for votes will not be evasive and will instead give her and the British public some straight answers.
When quizzed on if she gets frustrated by politicians who dodge answering questions, the journalist said: “Yes, because if I’m not getting a straight answer, the audience isn’t getting one.
“It does seem to be a trend now amongst politicians of all parties. Let’s see if it improves in this general election period.
“The audience is much more critical and analytical, especially since the pandemic, Brexit and various elections.
“When I was growing up, you just accepted what you said … these days that’s not the case, and that’s a good thing.”

‘I think we’ve lost that element of what Manchester life is all about…’ Former Coronation Street star Bruce Jones slams soap

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruce Jones has hit out against ‘Coronation Street’ writers for allowing the soap to lose its identity.
The 71-year-old actor played taxi driver Les Battersby on the ITV series from 1997 to 2007, and he has taken aim at the creative team for including too many murder plots and unrealistic stories which have diluted the kitchen sink drama.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, he said: “I watched it from day one, but now my wife says it’s not worth watching. You can’t have that many murders on one street.
“It’s not the actors fault. They’re all doing a good job, but it’s the writers that have changed.
“I think we’ve lost that element of what Manchester life is all about. The writers we had were all living Manchester city life.”
Bruce has called for ‘Corrie’ to return to its “community” roots.
He said: “Get it back to what ‘Coronation Street’ was … a community. The comedy was there and the tragedy came after.”
Bruce isn’t the only former ‘Coronation Street’ star to voice concerns over the programme’s current state.
Charlie Lawson – who played Jim McDonald – recently bashed the show for including “too many woke storylines”.
He told The Sun newspaper: “Viewers are getting turned off by too many young storylines.
“In my day, in the Nineties, we didn’t have any woke issues, we didn’t have any political correctness, we had none of that [redacted]. We were able to tell stories and tell them properly.
“I suspect now half the meetings that they have upstairs on the sixth floor are about what is politically acceptable, all this stuff that they feel they have to address.”
In 2023, the ‘Coronation Street’ Christmas episode attracted only 2.6 million viewers – less than a quarter of what Charlie was seeing during his first Weatherfield tenure from 1989 to 2000.
Lawson believes the “very disappointing” viewing figures are directly related to the drop in quality of the writing.
He said: “I do know there are at least two long-term cast members who aren’t happy. There is a feeling there are too many episodes and that the production team don’t have time to give the attention to detail they did before.
“If you look at the quality of the writers we had, we had great writers. You know, we never worried about ratings because it wasn’t an issue. We were always getting ten to 12 million. And then Christmas time, like I think the McDonald family got 20 million once when there was a domestic violence issue.
“An awful lot of people are saying there’s nothing like that anymore — they can’t all be wrong.”

Off to Ireland! Dermot O’Leary ‘developing food and drink travelogue’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dermot O’Leary is developing a food and drink travelogue for ITV.
The ‘This Morning’ presenter – who co-hosts the show on Fridays alongside Alison Hammond – will head to Ireland, where his parents Maria and Sean are from, for the new show.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Dermot has always been incredibly close to his parents and very proud of his Irish heritage, having spent many a summer holiday back in the Emerald Isle.
“The show would also see him explore another of his great loves – food and drink. And modern Ireland has plenty of both.”
Dermot’s parents moved over to England in 1968, and he was born and raised in Essex.
But Maria and Sean made the move back to the Emerald Isle three years ago.
The insider added: “It’s also a cheeky chance to drop in on his parents while he’s over there.”
Dermot will show off his culinary skills this Sunday (07.04.24) when he appears in ‘The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up 2 Cancer’ on Channel 4, and the star recently admitted he would love to “do more on TV about food”.
He said: “I love cooking. I cook all the time as it relaxes me.
“I’d love to do more on TV about food.”
Dermot will go up against Spice Girls singer Mel B, Radio 1 DJ Greg James, and comedienne Fern Brady in a bid to be crowned Star Baker by ‘Bake Off’ judges Dame Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.

‘I had the best time!’ Love Island’s Eve Gale confirms first date with Netflix and TOWIE star

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ star Eve Gale has confirmed she is dating former ‘TOWIE’ star Demi Sims.
Eve was most recently seen on ‘Love Island: All Stars’, where she briefly hooked up with Casey O’Gorman on the ITV2 dating show, but nothing materialised in the outside world.
But the 24-year-old star has now confirmed she and Demi, 27 – who stars alongside her family, including sister Chloe Sims, in Netflix show ‘House of Sims’ – went on their first date last week, and Eve had “the best time”.
Speaking on her and sister Frankie Sims’ ‘Sims Squared’ podcast, Demi said: “Me and Eve went on a date last week for anyone watching and it was our first date, wasn’t it?”
Eve – who appeared on ‘All Stars’ with her twin Jess Gale – said: “We kind of had other dates, but it’s not been a date date.
“That was like our first date. I had the best time.”
The pair confirmed they have been talking to one another for three years, but Demi was still “nervous” about their first date.
She explained: “I was nervous [the date] was going to get awkward, you know because usually we’ve always got people around? I was thinking, ‘Is there going to be any awkward silences?’, then when I picked you up, you were chewing my ear off. I actually didn’t get a word in.
“And then we got there, had a drink, had so much food … and yeah, it was quite a short date to be fair.
“It was quite a private date, though, because we were in Amazonico and we were in this booth and everyone was behind us.
“People assume we’re besties, don’t they?”
Eve added: “I said this to Demi, I never would actually go on a date with another girl.”
It comes after Eve recently confirmed she had been on a date with US singer Jason Derulo.
She told the ‘Cracking on with The Sun’ podcast: “He wasn’t my ex-boyfriend, but I met him and we went on a date.
“Obviously he’s in America and I’m in the UK. I’d see him again but nothing too serious.”
