‘He’d be a great shout!’ Martin Compston tips former EastEnders star to join Line of Duty

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Compston wants Danny Dyer to join ‘Line of Duty’.
The 39-year-old star – who plays Steve Arnott in the hit BBC show – thinks the former ‘EastEnders’ star is a “wonderful actor” and would be a top addition to the cast.
He is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: “[Danny] would be a great shout [as a ‘bent copper’ on the show].
“Danny is something else, honestly, he is one of our treasures. He is a wonderful actor – it would be good to see [him] in there.”
While Martin could be facing off against Danny in ‘Line of Duty’ one day, he will be opposing the ‘Football Factory’ star in this year’s ‘Soccer Aid’ first.
Martin admitted when he first started playing in the charity football match it was all about lining up alongside legends of the game, but the experience now means a lot more to him after he went to see the “incredible” work UNICEF do with the money raised from ‘Soccer Aid’.
He added: “For me it was about being able to play in these incredible stadiums and meet the icons of the game.
“It has changed for me over the years, I have been lucky enough to work with UNICEF and go out to see the incredible work that they do first-hand.”
This year’s match will ‘I’m A Celebrity’ champion Sam Thompson, Danny’s former ‘EastEnders’ co-star Bobby Brazier and ‘The Crown’ actress Erin Doherty make their ‘Soccer Aid’ debuts.
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard will return to Stamford Bridge to make his ‘Soccer Aid’ debut when he manages England alongside his uncle and fellow footballer manager Harry Redknapp.
Current Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino will take charge of the Soccer Aid World XI for the second year running.
Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard, ex-England cricketer Stuart Broad and ‘Gladiators’ star Diamond will also make their ‘Soccer Aid’ debuts, and returning stars will include Robbie Williams, Roman Kemp, Lee Mack, Steven Bartlett, Paddy McGuinness, Alex Brooker, Tom Grennan, and Maisie Adam.
Sports stars Usain Bolt, Jill Scott, Karen Carney, Jermain Defoe, Sir Mo Farah, David James, Tommy Fury, Gary Cahill, David Seaman, Roberto Carlos, Joe Cole and Jack Wilshere will also return to for the charity game.
‘Soccer Aid’ will air live on ITV1, co-hosted by Alex Scott and Dermot O’Leary, while Sam Matterface and Iain Stirling will provide match commentary.

EastEnders’ Jamie Borthwick reveals painful injury from running London Marathon: ‘It’s not good’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Borthwick ended up with a painful foot injury after running the London Marathon.
The 29-year-old actor appeared alongside his ‘EastEnders’ co-star Emma Barton in character as Jay Brown and Honey Mitchell at the annual road race in some special scenes for the show, but he is now suffering from Plantar fasciitis – an inflammation of the tissue used during walking.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’, he said: “My right foot, second toe. It’s not good. It’s not pretty. I’ve got Plantar fasciitis. The soles of my feet are pretty sore. But we’re nominating some of our castmates to do it next year, they don’t know about it yet!”
The soap stars originally completed the run in 2019 as part of Babs’ Army, when they ran in aid of Dementia UK to honour their co-star Dame Barbara Windsor, who passed away from the disease the following year.
This time round, Emma admitted that there was a point where they “hit a wall” but they just had to find the impetus to get through it.
She said: “Scott [Mitchell] organised a group of us in 2019 for Dame Barbara Windsor. We did it together but we’re not runners, Jamie and I. We didn’t do too well last time, we both got knee injuries but they paired us up again!
“I think that was the drive – we did hit a wall by mile 19, 23 and 24 were tough for both for us. But we just knew that we had to do it. It’s quite a risk because … you just don’t know if it’s gonna work. But we were OK!”
The long-running BBC soap opera normally films six to eight weeks in advance, but to capture footage at the race on Sunday (21.04.24), film crews had to rush back to the studios in Hertfordshire to edit it in time for the following night’s episode.
Jamie added: “We had our four-camera crew set up at the four different areas and they shot our footage and were straight off back to Elstree into post [production] ready for the next day. They’ve done an amazing job getting it in.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Marsan, Hayley Atwell and Jonathan Bailey have been cast in the third series of ‘Heartstopper’.
The 55-year-old actor will join former ‘Agent Carter’ actress Hayley, 42, and ‘Wicked’ star Jonathan on the billing of the next instalment of the hit Netflix series, which follows the love story of Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke).
Alice Oseman, creator and writer, said about the new cast members: “I am incredibly excited to be welcoming three new cast members to the ‘Heartstopper’ family.
“Hayley Atwell joins the Nelson family as Nick’s Aunt Diane, who takes Nick on a summer holiday to Menorca and has some tough advice to impart about his relationship.”
The writer added that ‘Back to Black’ star Eddie will be appearing in the role of Geoff – a character lifted from her original graphic novel series – whilst Jonathan will make a cameo appearance of an Instagram celebrity.
Alice added: “Eddie Marsan will be portraying a beloved character from the graphic novels: Geoff, Charlie’s wise and straight-talking therapist.
“And lastly, Jonathan Bailey will be making a cameo appearance as Jack Maddox, an Instagram-famous classicist and celebrity crush of Charlie.
“It was an absolute joy to see Hayley, Eddie, and Jonathan’s talent alongside our existing cast, and I can’t wait for the Heartstopper fans to meet these new characters.”
As well as its two lead actors, William Gao, Yasmin Finney, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Tobie Donovan, Leila Khan, Rhea Norwood and Jenny Walser will also be appearing in the show’s latest batch of episodes.
The third series of ‘Heartstopper’ will consist of eight episodes and will premiere on Netflix in October 2024.

Kelvin Fletcher’s Family Farm renewed for series 2

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Fletchers’ Family Farm’ has been renewed for a second series.
The ITV reality show follows former ‘Emmerdale’ star Kelvin Fletcher, his wife Liz and their children after they move onto a 120-acre farm in the Peak District, and after achieving impressive viewing figures, insiders have claimed that it was a “no-brainer” to give the series a second outing.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “This will be welcome news to the substantial following the show has quickly gained.
“It began with 676,000 watching, but after seven weeks the audience was nudging a million. Giving it a second series was a bit of a no-brainer for ITV.”
The hit show initially began life as ‘Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure’ on BBC and that time the couple only had Marnie, six, and son Milo, four, but they have since welcomed two-year-old twins Maximus and Mateusz.
The insider added: “There’s something about seeing a family launch a fresh start that appeals to so many people – and there are plenty of laughs and shocking moments, too.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ winner had enjoyed two decades playing Andy Sugden on ‘Emmerdale’ when he quit the ITV1 soap in 2016, but recently admitted that playing a farmer on-screen was in fact not much help when it came to doing it in real life.
He told OK! magazine: “I wish it did. I once said that what I know about farming you could write on the back of a stamp. I used to love filming those scenes but very rarely were the scenes about farming.
“The irony is that I played a farmer for 20 years and pretended to be one, and now I’m doing that. It’s just a bit bizarre isn’t it? But there’s no skill set I can transfer.”

Traitors star Mollie Pearce shocked to learn the reality of end-of-life care

OHMYGOSSIP — Mollie Pearce was shocked to learn about the state of end-of-life care.
The 21-year-old model – who shot to fame when she finished runner-up on ‘The Traitors’ earlier this year – is aiming to raise £200,000 to fund 10,000 hours of Marie Curie’s nursing service through a beauty campaign with Superdrug, but admitted she had “never considered” the statistics before getting involved.
She said: “It’s been a privilege to be able to talk to some of Marie Curie’s wonderful nurses and get a better understanding of the care and support they offer to not just their patients, but their loved ones too. What they do daily is incredible, but it’s something that so many of us don’t even consider until we’re so much older.
“And yet getting the right end-of-life care isn’t just important to those dying, but to the people left behind, like their children and grandchildren.
“I certainly wasn’t aware of how urgent the need is for better end of life care.
“It’s sobering to think that one in four people in the UK die without the care that they need – so I hope these videos inspire people to head out to their local Superdrug store and pick up one of the selected products knowing that they’ll be supporting this invaluable service that Marie Curie Nurses provide.”
As part of the campaign’s TikTok series, Mollie is seen applying lip gloss and blusher as she discusses how end-of-life care affects young people, despite it being seen as something for the older generations to care about.
Zeb Un-Nisa Ali, Registered Nurse at the Marie Curie Hospice, Bradford, said: “It’s been lovely getting ready with Mollie today, and giving her an insight into what we do at Marie Curie.
“End of life care can be needed by anyone at any stage of life, and we’re there to make sure that someone’s last moments are just as beautiful as their first ones.
“The job has taught me that we have to live life to the fullest while we can, and when it’s coming to an end, every single person deserves the care and support that we nurses can provide.”
The Purchase for Marie Curie Nurses campaign is on now until Tuesday 21 May, with proceeds from selected Superdrug products going towards Marie Curie’s nursing service. Brands include NYX, Maybelline, Rimmel, Nails Inc, W7 and O’Keefe’s.
Head down to Superdrug or shop online this month to pick up a product and support the charity. For more information visit www.superdrug.com/mariecurie

‘It was the right decision – I’m in a really good place!’ Ex-Made in Chelsea star is newly single

OHMYGOSSIP — Kimberley Garner is newly single – and admits it was the “right decision”.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star, who is now a swimwear designer, has told how she and her boyfriend recently went their separate ways, but the star insisted she is in a “really good place” now.
Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper’s Eden Confidential column, she said: “I’ve just broken up with someone.
“Right decision – and I am in a really good place.”
It comes after Kimberley was romantically linked to financier Andreas Anthis last year, and she was previously in a relationship with her ‘Made in Chelsea’ co-star Richard Dinan.
The 33-year-old businesswoman – who appeared in the E4 reality TV show in 2012 – has forged a successful career for herself, after starting her first company aged 18.
But she initially used to pretend she was an intern, because nobody would take her “seriously”.
She previously told MailOnline: “I think people sometimes think that I’m only the face, but I am responsible for every bit of the business.
“I was 18 when I started my first company – I came up with an idea, stayed up for days learning how to register the company and teaching myself.
“It became very successful overnight.
“However, as I was only 18, no one ever imagined it was mine. I was a young blonde girl with a soft voice.
“No one would take me seriously or realise it was my company. So, I pretended to be the intern!”

Jane McDonald opens up on dealing with grief: ‘It never leaves you!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane McDonald is determined to stay “positive” amid her grief.
The 61-year-old star lost her fiancé Eddie Rothe to lung cancer in April 2021, and three years earlier had to deal with the death of her mother, but she insisted that while things are “not always easy” for her now, Jane generally has more good days than bad.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she told stand-in host Ranvir Singh: “You have to find your way of dealing with it, it’s not easy. It never leaves you either. “Everybody thinks, ‘Oh, she’s back on track’. No, it never leaves you. I have to make a decision every morning what my day is going to be like, because you can go that way, or you can go that way.
“I choose to go the positive way and it’s not always easy. It’s not always easy and if you have a bad day, that’s fine. Have a bad day. But in general, now I look at my life and I think, ‘I’ve got a lot more good days in my life than I have bad days now’. ”
The former ‘Loose Women’ panellist – who revealed in 2022 that her best friend and ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ co-star Sue Ravey had moved in with her – noted that she has a “great group” of friends and she has learned to “laugh” again following her loss.
She added: “It’s that purpose thing again. You know, my life is different now to what it was and my plans have all changed now to what they were.
“I have a great group of girlfriends that I go out with a lot, we go on holiday together.
“I laugh again and there’s that one moment when you look in the mirror and you think, ‘I know you’.”
Jane – who shot to fame as a singer on the BBC One docuseries ‘The Cruise’ in 1998 – is now preparing to head back out on the road with her ‘With All My Love Tour’ in October, and explained that going back to music has given her “purpose” again in life.
She said: “I’ve come on leaps and bounds and I think the music and touring again, and getting back with my band, and writing new stuff again is just, it’s given me such joy and a purpose.
“My purpose is to go out and entertain. Yeah, I think once you’ve found your purpose in life, everything just comes together and I feel my purpose now is to get back on that stage.”
Watch ‘Lorraine’ weekdays from 9am on ITV and ITVX.

Ncuti Gatwa thinks only ‘true fans’ of Doctor Who will embrace his casting

OHMYGOSSIP — Ncuti Gatwa thinks only “true fans” of ‘Doctor Who’ will embrace his casting.
The 31-year-old actor has become the first openly gay and Black man to take on the role of the titular Time Lord, but argued that anyone who takes umbrage with the casting choice needs to remember that the entire concept of the show is about “regeneration”.
He told Variety: ” I feel like anyone that has a problem with someone who’s not a straight white man playing this character, you’re not really, truly a fan of the show. You’ve not been watching! ”
“Because the show is about regeneration and the doctor is an alien. Why would they only choose to be this sort of person?”
Meanwhile, showrunner Russell T Davies is keen to use the latest series of the hit sci-fi show to promote the importance of mental health, as he stressed he wants viewers to see the series as an example of embracing self-worth.
He said: “A Doctor of old is someone who would be a little bit aloof. Then by chance I cast the man who couldn’t hide his emotion if he tried. The one thing I keep seeing now is the fragility of the mental health of young people.
“So that’s the hero I wanted for them. If that younger audience is feeling so much, I wanted the doctor to feel it on screen as well.
“Whether you’re 12 years old, just beginning to work out who you are, 62 years old, and you’ve never been who you are, or 61 years old, like I am and beginning to worry about where we are in society, there is a hero out there cutting his way through the universe, looking damn good in his suits and doing it with a laugh and a smile.”

‘I don’t get it!’: Zack Snyder confused by wild reactions to his movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Zack Snyder is baffled by the “overreactions” to his film work.
The 58-year-old director has released ‘Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver’ and thinks that the savage criticism that its predecessor got upon release last year sums up the extreme responses to his movies.
Zack told the Metro newspaper: “The reactions to my movies tend to really be these big… overreactions.
“Even just (with) ‘Rebel Moon – Part One’, I’m like, it’s not that controversial of a movie.
“A lot of people have this crazy reaction to it. And I’m just like, ‘I don’t get it!’ I’m not mad about it, but it just is what it is.”
Zack acknowledges the comparisons between the ‘Rebel Moon’ films and ‘Star Wars’ but explained that the differences between the two franchises will become clear when his R-rated director’s cut is released in the summer.
The ‘Army of the Dead’ helmer said: “You can’t have spaceships landing and guys firing guns, without thinking, ‘Oh, it’s like (‘Star Wars’).
“The difference becomes a lot starker because of how adult those are. The director’s cuts are the movie I wrote.”
Snyder has previous with director’s cuts after overseeing the 2021 reimagining of ‘Justice League’ and is doing so again with ‘Rebel Moon’ as audiences are unlikely to watch his uncut film.
He said: “Making a giant space movie, the economics say you can’t really have an R-rated version because we need the biggest audience to see the movie – so this allows me to sit down and write a crazy movie that has no business existing.”
The filmmaker has even hinted that more ‘Rebel Moon’ stories could be in the pipeline.
Zack said: “From a story standpoint, there’s plenty more to do. We have a huge outline that takes us all the way to a battle maybe at (the planet) Moa at the end.”

Zendaya isn’t ‘confident enough’ to direct a film yet

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya isn’t “confident enough” to make her directorial debut at the moment.
The 27-year-old actress stars in and serves as an executive producer on her new movie ‘Challengers’ but has admitted she isn’t ready to step behind the camera yet because she is still “learning” how to be a competent filmmaker.
Speaking to the New York Times newspaper, Zendaya said: “I love being on set because it is not just creatively stimulating, but it’s one of the few places where I feel free.
“Whatever that thing in my brain is where it’s overly critical and self-conscious, that is the one place where I can be spontaneous and exist for the purpose of just creating something with other people and feel no guilt about it. But I’m not at the place where I’m quite confident enough to step into directing.”
Zendaya – who had been due to helm an episode of ‘Euphoria’ before opting to wait until the delayed third season – is determined to continue absorbing information from those around her before taking the plunge behind the camera.
The ‘Dune’ actress said: “I get to be with the greatest around me all the time, and I’m like, ‘Let me sponge and get as much from this as possible.’
“For many years, I was embarrassed to ask questions – I was like, ‘I don’t want to waste people’s time.’ But you’d be surprised at how many people are like, ‘Oh my God, come on in. This is the film stock, this is the reference for this shot.’
“People love sharing what they do, and I’m lucky to be in a place where I can absorb it.”
Despite Zendaya’s reluctance, ‘Challengers’ director Luca Guadagnino expects her to be a successful filmmaker.
He said: “Z is a director. I told you many times, and I repeat it now to The Times.”

Nicole Kidman ‘craves the extremes’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman “craves the extremes”.
The 56-year-old actress has worked across a variety of genres and says she loves pushing herself to try new things.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I made ‘Dogville’ after ‘Moulin Rouge’! I went from lavish extremes to … I’d come from sequins and trapezes, top hats, hundreds of people singing and dancing. And suddenly I was in Sweden for ‘Dogville’, completely in the dark. But then I went to Spain and made ‘The Others’ with Alejandro Amenábar, who didn’t speak English. I even worked here in Nashville on ‘Stoker’ with director Park Chan-wook, who also doesn’t speak English. I crave those extremes, those emotions. I’ve definitely had an extreme life.”
And, Nicole revealed that she is always surprised by the reactions her movies elicit from fans.
She said: “There are always surprises. I have people come up to me about all different films, and the things that reach the most number of people aren’t necessarily the ones that get the most passionate response from people. Obviously there have been massive hits, and you go, ‘Well, that worked!’ But it’s the ones that find their way to people. I am amazed people even know who I am. My kids say to me, ‘Gosh, you can’t go anywhere that you’re not known.’ That’s always what surprises me.”

Aaron Sorkin’s Social Network sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Aaron Sorkin is working on a sequel to ‘The Social Network’.
The 2010 film directed by David Fincher tells the story of the creation of social networking website Facebook with Jesse Eisenberg as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Aaron revealed a new script he is working on could function as a sequel.
Speaking on ‘The Town’ podcast, he said: “Look, yeah, I’ll be writing about this. I blame Facebook for January 6.”
When asked why he blames the social media company for Donald Trump supporters storming the U.S. Capitol, he replied, “You’re going to need to buy a movie ticket.”
He added: “Facebook has been, among other things, tuning its algorithm to promote the most divisive material possible. Because that is what will increase engagement. That is what will get you to — what they call inside the hallways of Facebook — ‘the infinite scroll’ … There’s supposed to be a constant tension at Facebook between growth and integrity. There isn’t. There’s just growth. If Mark Zuckerberg woke up tomorrow morning and saw there is nothing you can buy for $120 billion that you can’t buy for $119 billion dollars, ‘So how about if I make a little bit less money? I will tune up integrity and tune down growth.’ Yes, you can do that by switching a one to a zero.”
He previously revealed that he would love to write a sequel about the “dark side” of Facebook, but only if director Fincher would return.
He told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021: “I think what has been going on with Facebook these last few years is a story very much worth telling, and there is a way to tell it as a follow-up to ‘The Social Network’, and that’s as much as I know.”
He told the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast in 2020: “People have been talking to me about [a sequel] because of what we’ve discovered is the dark side of Facebook. Do I want to write that movie? Yeah I do. I will only write it if [David Fincher] directs it. If Billy Wilder came back from the grave and said he wanted to direct it, I’d say I’d only do it with David.”

Ellie Simmonds wants to make more documentaries

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Simmonds wants to make more documentaries.
The Paralympian swimmer has been nominated for a TV Bafta for her ITV documentary, ‘Finding My Secret Family’ and Ellie, 29, has plans for even more TV work.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Documentaries is what I want to do.
“I love working in sport and TV and interviewing people but to do documentaries is my focus.
“It is something that we are working on now. For me disability is close to my heart so I’d like to do another one focusing on that.”
Ellie previously revealed she only actively started looking for her birth mother after retiring from swimming in 2021.
She told The Guardian: ““I’ve always thought about them, growing up. I have photos of her when she had me, and with my birth sister. I never had the time, or the mental capacity. The amount of pressure that gets put on your shoulders when you’re an athlete – looking for my birth parents would have been an added pressure, an added emotional factor. I wasn’t ready to have those feelings as well.
“I put myself in her shoes. From the records, she was going through a lot mentally – I know more now – and she was on her own.”
Speaking about being adopted, she added: “There were no moments that I was upset or angry. I’d been very, in a way, blase about it. Intrigued, but that’s me in general. I always like to ask loads of questions.
“Looking back, I could have had another life. I could have been someone so different, someone else. If I didn’t have my parents, I wouldn’t be the swimmer or the person that I am today. They gave me that opportunity and they put me on that journey.”

Maya Hawke broke down in tears during Inside Out 2 audition

OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Hawke was moved to tears during her ‘Inside Out 2’ audition.
The 25-year-old actress lends her voice to Anxiety in the Pixar animated sequel and explained how she was left overcome with emotion because of the “relatable” nature of the story about the emotions of a teenage girl.
Maya told Empire magazine: “There’s something about this story and these characters that I think really brings fundamental truths about our experience to the surface.
“It’s so relatable, so emotional, so pure, that whether you want to or not, you use what you have and what you’ve been through.”
Maya admits that she even resorted to begging for a role in the film – which also features the voices of Amy Poehler, Tony Hale and Ayo Edebiri – as she felt the move underlined how much she would invest into the part.
The ‘Stranger Things’ star said: “It was an extremely desperate thing to do, but I think what people are looking for in audition rooms is passion. That it means something to them personally, and they’ll put pieces of themselves into it.”
Maya was not the only one in tears as director Kelsey Mann confessed to getting a little bit emotional during the audition as a result of the star’s “genuine connection to the character”.
He told Collider: “My favourite part was the end, we talked about what I wanted for the movie, and she just immediately connected with it. I think I even cried a little as she was talking.
“We finished the call, and I immediately called Mark (Nielsen, producer) – we were like, ‘Oh my God, she’s perfect!'”

Liberty Poole teases Adam Maxted romance

OHMYGOSSIP — Liberty Poole has teased “never say never” when asked about a romance with her ‘Love Island: All Stars’ co-star Adam Maxted.
The 24-year-old blonde beauty and Adam, 32, were spotted getting cosy at an event last month and Liberty has not ruled out a romance with the hunky wrestler.
Speaking to The Sun, Liberty said: “I know there were pictures of me and Adam, we actually just spoke that night and got to know each other a bit more.
“I did stay over, we were chatting a little bit and I think he is a lovely guy and I’m attracted to him.
“He’s very focused on his career and wanting to purse wrestling in America.
“And for me, I’m really looking for someone who puts energy and time into me. I’m doing something that I never did on ‘Love Island’, you’d all be so proud of me and I’m keeping my options open.
“In the past, I’ve been very career focused and busy working on my own projects. But never say never with Adam, I’m still single but I just think that I really want someone who really wants to put effort in who really wants to see and date me and stuff.
“I actually said to Adam last night, ‘I know you’re busy and I’m proud of you for smashing your dreams, and I said I’m just letting you know my options are open because I’m single and totally on your end as well…never say never’.
“I do like him, I do think he’s attractive and we do get on very well.
“Maybe if he was in the villa sooner, things could have progressed, but everything happens for a reason, so we’ll just see. But it’s exciting though.”

Claudia Winkleman ‘reluctant’ to do another series of The Traitors

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Winkleman admitted she is “reluctant” to do another series of ‘The Traitors’.
Although the show has been a smash hit for the BBC, Claudia admitted she had to be persuaded to return for a second series and she has reservations about a third.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, she said: “I was reluctant to do the second, and now I’m extra reluctant to do the third. Like guys, just leave it! It did okay, just leave it.
“They just say no, the head of the BBC just leant forward and took my temperature.”
However, there is no stopping ‘The Traitors’ and TV bosses behind the show have reportedly booked the Scottish castle where it is filmed for another six years.
The reality TV contest has been filmed at Ardross Castle – 30 miles north of Inverness – since it launched back in 2022 and now a new report suggests BBC bosses are planning to keep the show on air until at least 2030 by securing a deal to book the castle for at least 12 more series.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The ultimate nightmare would be if the producers tried to return to Ardross Castle after the Beeb commissioned more series only to find it was unavailable.
“That’s a very real prospect as the Highlands pile is in huge demand for weddings, which have swelled in numbers since ‘The Traitors’ became so popular.
“Without taking this bold measure, it was at risk of becoming a victim of its own success.”
The insider went on to add the castle needs to be booked out for certain times of the year – either in spring or autumn – because the show can’t be filmed during the summer.
They explained: “The show, which is often filmed in the depths of the night, can only be made at certain times of year due to long summer days in the north of Scotland.”
A third series of ‘The Traitors’ is likely to start filming at Ardross Castle soon and a celebrity spin-off is believed to be planned for the autumn.
