Ncuti Gatwa plans long future on Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Ncuti Gatwa says his ‘Doctor Who’ Timelord will be “around for a while”.
The 31-year-old actor is currently filming his second season of the BBC show but hinted he will return for a third series.
He told Radio Times: “I’ll be around for a while. You’re not getting rid of me yet.”
Meanwhile, Ncuti previously revealed he thinks only “true fans” of ‘Doctor Who’ will embrace his casting.
The actor is the first openly gay and Black man to take on the role of the titular Time Lord, but argued that anyone who takes umbrage with the casting choice needs to remember that the entire concept of the show is about “regeneration”.
He told Variety: ” I feel like anyone that has a problem with someone who’s not a straight white man playing this character, you’re not really, truly a fan of the show. You’ve not been watching!
“Because the show is about regeneration and the doctor is an alien. Why would they only choose to be this sort of person?”
Meanwhile, showrunner Russell T Davies is keen to use the latest series of the hit sci-fi show to promote the importance of mental health, as he stressed he wants viewers to see the series as an example of embracing self-worth.
He said: “A Doctor of old is someone who would be a little bit aloof. Then by chance I cast the man who couldn’t hide his emotion if he tried. The one thing I keep seeing now is the fragility of the mental health of young people.
“So that’s the hero I wanted for them. If that younger audience is feeling so much, I wanted the doctor to feel it on screen as well.
“Whether you’re 12 years old, just beginning to work out who you are, 62 years old, and you’ve never been who you are, or 61 years old, like I am and beginning to worry about where we are in society, there is a hero out there cutting his way through the universe, looking damn good in his suits and doing it with a laugh and a smile.”

Bobby Brazier and family sign up for Celebrity Gogglebox

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Brazier is joining ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’.
The ‘EastEnders’ actor will be joined on the sofa by his dad Jeff Brazier and younger brother Freddie, 19, as they cast their eyes over the week’s biggest moments in TV for the hit series.
Bobby, 20, and Jeff previously took part in a Stand Up 2 Cancer one-off episode of the show last autumn, but producers are particularly pleased the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ finalist’s younger sibling has now agreed to join them too.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Producers are delighted that Freddie wants to join them.
“The trio have great banter and it will be great to treat Bobby’s huge fanbase to his rapport with Freddie.
“He has really propelled his family to stardom since coming runner-up on Strictly.
“Jeff adores working with his sons and the brothers are really close, so it could lead to more projects together.”
Fans can expect to learn more about the home life of Jeff and his boys – whose mother Jade Goody died of cancer in 2009 – when they appear on the show.
The source added: “Those viewers [last autumn] were treated to conversation snippets about fitness routines so the scenes will lift the lid on the Brazier boys’ homelife.”
Freddie is also set to join Jeff in taking part in ‘Celebrity Race Across the World’ on BBC1 later this year.
A source previously told The Sun newspaper: “Being in the audience almost every week on Strictly has certainly helped to raise the profile of Jeff.
“Bobby’s done wonders for the Brazier name and it seems producers want to get in on the action as soon as possible.
“It’s a bit of a coup to have got on ‘Celebrity Race Against the World’, as it turned out to be one of 2023’s biggest telly hits.”

‘I’m worried I’ve worked myself to death’: Shirley Ballas details fears amid breast cancer scare

OHMYGOSSIP — Shirley Ballas is terrified she has “worked [herself] to death” amid her fears she has breast cancer.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge is awaiting test results after undergoing three biopsies following a routine mammogram found “lumpy tissue” and she can’t help but fear the worst during such a worrying and emotional time.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “I’m worried I’ve worked myself to death.
“It’s been terrifying, to have the needle go in your body to numb it before the biopsy.
“I feel very emotional. I’m not the same at work at the moment, so I’m teaching, but it’s constantly on my mind.
“Every time the phone rings, I think, ‘Oh, maybe they are my results’.”
The 63-year-old dance expert is thankful Amy Dowden – who is recovering from breast cancer – convinced her not to delay the routine screening.
She said: “My dear student and friend Amy said to me, ‘You must never miss a mammogram’.
“So when this particular invite came in I could have put it off until the summer when it is a bit quieter. But I’m glad I didn’t.
“I did it at a mobile NHS unit in a Sainsbury’s car park, and three days later they called me back to go into King’s College Hospital in Camberwell.
“I was shocked as I do self checks, and I’d had a self check with another nurse a few weeks before for something else and she didn’t feel anything. But the mammogram scanners can pick up small abnormalities.
“So I went to the hospital and the doctor said, ‘I don’t want to alarm you but we found something and we’re not sure what it is.
“We need to do a 3D mammogram, which is a more advanced machine’.
“After that they still weren’t happy after finding lumpy tissue and asked me to come back and do a biopsy.
“But I asked to do it straightaway because a woman’s mind can work overtime.”
Shirley found it particularly upsetting confiding in her 87-year-old mother Audrey, who lives with her in London.
She said: “My biggest fear would be that I pass before my mother.
“I couldn’t think of anything worse.
“Because she needs me as much as I need her and at 87 she’s amazing.
“She takes care of me.
“I told her I was fine, but inside I was nervous.”
Shirley also had a cancer scare while filming the ‘Strictly’ Christmas special after undergoing tests for internal bleeding.
She said: “I have had continuous issues and even had really strong, painful injections into the cervix on the day of the special.
“Fortunately that one came back clear.
“But I went straight from there to judge the Christmas show on pain medication.
“I had pain and bleeding, but I carried on.”

Luca Guadagnino made accidental Spider-Man in-joke in Challengers

OHMYGOSSIP — Luca Guadagnino didn’t deliberately insert a ‘Spider-Man’ “in-joke” into ‘Challengers’.
The director’s new movie stars Zendaya as tennis prodigy Tashi Duncan, and a scene features the alter ego of the actress – who plays MJ opposite her real-life boyfriend Tom Holland in the superhero films – talking with her husband Art (Mike Faist) when they are interrupted by their daughter Lily, who asks if she can watch the ‘Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ animated movie.
And while fans of the superhero saga were thrilled by the Easter egg, Luca admitted he didn’t think about the tie to Zendaya when the line was written.
He explained to EW.com: “When you get rights for something to be used in a movie, it’s very complicated.
“Amy Pascal, our amazing producer, was of help there. I said, ‘Amy, can we use one of your catalog titles so it’s going to be easier to clear them?’ [Lily]’s a girl; she’s not going to choose to watch ‘The Social Network’ or ‘The Post’, but maybe she’s going to watch a ‘Spider-Man’ cartoon, so I said, ‘Why not ‘Spider-Verse’?’
“Now I realise that it sounded like an in-joke, which, you know, the unconscious guides us all the time.”
Zendaya recently spoke of how much she enjoyed working with the 52-year-old filmmaker on the project.
She told Deadline: “Luca is brilliant. I think he has such a brilliant understanding about the human experience and deeply understands characters on another level.
“That was very apparent from the first time I spoke with him about this film and about these characters. He just knew who these people were in a deep sense and understood them, their hopes, their wants, their dreams, their desires, their fears.
“It was so special to be able to collaborate with him, work with him, and learn from him as well. We had tennis training and all these great things.
“But we also had rehearsal, which was something he had never done before, and it was just so special for us to have that time to work on the script, dig in, and get to know each other.”

SZA set for first movie role alongside Keke Palmer

OHMYGOSSIP — SZA will make her acting debut in a new comedy.
The ‘Snooze’ hitmaker is set to team up with ‘Nope’ actress Keke Palmer for the currently-untitled buddy film for TriStar Pictures, which will be directed by Lawrence Lamont from a script written by his ‘Rap Sh!t’ showrunner Syreeta Singleton
Issa Rae is among the producers for the project, for which plot details are being kept under wraps.
SZA and Keke previously teamed up together on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in December 2022, when the 30-year-old actress was the host and the ‘Nobody Gets Me’ singer was the musical guest.
The news comes just two weeks after it was revealed Keke is in talks for another movie, Stefano Sollima’s action thriller ‘Gods Unknown.
The film takes place in Central Africa as a political-religious movement, spearheaded by a warlord who is rumoured to have supernatural powers, gains momentum.
A sceptical CIA dispatches an analyst and a squad of elite special ops personnel to establish the truth about the enigmatic leader and their followers.
Keke will play the role of Kate Vance, an agent with the CIA’s political action group.
Andrew Barrer and Gabe Ferrari have penned the script for the new movie.
Meanwhile, Keke had to deny plans that she was going to retire after she hinted earlier this year that she could quit showbiz sooner rather than later – although she later explained that she merely wished to explore other avenues of her career before stepping back.
She said: “People took that literally, but I was thinking in like 20 years! But also, what I will say is I meant a different type of ‘slowing down.’ I think there’s a version of me that really wants to do more producing, that really wants to do more directing, that wants to do even more work, not only in front of the camera.”
Keke – who rose to fame as a teenager when she featured in the Nickelodeon series ‘True Jackson, VP’ – said that even when she does opt to “slow down”, she will remain in the entertainment industry in some form.
She said: “I’ll be still doing stuff, but I don’t know if I’m going to always want to be doing three movies a year. That’s amazing. Thank god I am doing that. But I don’t know if I always want to be doing it at that level or that way.”

Michelle Visage to guest host Lorraine

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Visage will host ‘Lorraine’ over the summer.
The ‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race’ star is set to step in as host of the ITV daytime show when regular host Lorraine Kelly takes her annual holiday and is “thrilled” to have been asked to fill in for the broadcaster.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper’s No Filter column: “ITV has lined up Michelle Visage as a part-time host for its morning chat show ‘Lorraine’.
“She will be hosting the show during a one-off summertime special. She joins the show in a bid to keep it interesting over the summer months.
“Michelle is thrilled to have been given this opportunity.
“She’s a natural presenter and a huge fan of the show so it’s a perfect fit.
“ITV think she will be a huge hit with fans.”
Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh – who regularly fill in for Lorraine on Fridays – are also expected to provide cover over the summer.
Michelle, 55, recently spoke about wanting to raise awareness of the menopause as she doesn’t want women to feel alone.
She told OK! magazine: “With menopause, my God, you don’t need to struggle. There are answers and there is help – you just have to ask your doctors. And I would always recommend going to a hormone specialist because most doctors really don’t know what you need to do to help you out.
“Stigmas are so silly. I think that in the 1950s they were a thing, but that doesn’t exist any more.
“We have to really just keep breaking down the boundaries because it shouldn’t be taboo to talk about something that happens to every single woman. You can’t avoid it. There’s not one woman who’s going to bypass it. So they have to know they’re not alone and they don’t have to suffer.”

‘Still very raw’: Jasmine Harman finds it hard to talk about Jonnie Irwin

OHMYGOSSIP — Jasmine Harman still finds it “very hard” to talk about Jonnie Irwin.
The 48-year-old presenter was devastated when her ‘A Place in the Sun’ co-host lost his battle with cancer in February aged 50 and though she’s “so proud” of everything she’s achieved in 20 years on the show, looking back is “bittersweet” because her pal is no longer by her side.
She told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “I’m so proud to have been part of ‘A Place in the Sun’ for 20 years. It has been life changing for so many people and to be able to help hundreds of couples.
“It has changed my life in so many ways too. ‘I met my husband (a cameraman) Jon on the programme, we’ve got two children now and I feel proud to be able to show people that anything is possible.
‘But [reaching this landmark] has also been very bittersweet. I still find it very hard even talking about Jonnie. It’s still very raw.”
And Jasmine – who has Joy, nine, and Albion, seven, with her husband – has been inspired by Jonnie’s mantra of living every day to its fullest, and has been driven to move to Spain with her family.
She said: “Throughout the last 20 years, I’ve had countless people who had something that has been a catalyst for them, whether that is a bereavement, health scare, or other trauma.
“It has made people think that life is for living and that is a message I would like to say to everyone today.
“Not only from Jonnie’s passing, but we have also lost other family members and other friends as well. It definitely makes you want to make the best of every day.”
Jasmine hopes to stay on the property show for another 20 years.
She quipped: “That’s if they will have me, of course.”

‘Can I even remember how to play her?’: Daisy Ridley embraces challenge of returning as Rey in Star Wars

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley is intrigued by the “challenge” of returning to the ‘Star Wars’ franchise.
The 32-year-old actress will reprise the role of Rey in Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s movie in the sci-fi series and questioned how she will adapt to playing the protagonist once more.
Quizzed on coming back to the ‘Star Wars’ films by Empire magazine, Daisy said: “Why wouldn’t I (do it)? Yes, they have been divisive, but also they bring a lot of love and joy to a lot of people.
“It feels pretty amazing to be able to continue a character – like, can I even remember how to play her? It’s an interesting challenge as an actor to come back to something and try to figure out what’s changed for me and what’s changed for her.”
The ‘Magpie’ actress first starred as Rey in the 2015 movie ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and is looking forward to entering a new chapter knowing what to expect this time around.
Daisy said: “Coming in a bit more eyes wide open, I suppose I feel more like I’m owning it. I suppose I owned it the first time. Basically, I’m an adult now. I certainly did not feel like an adult at the time.
“Obviously, personally, things have changed, and professionally, I’ve had lots of other experiences, and so I definitely feel like it’s a different thing this time.
“There’s just a lot of joy with me and these films. Honestly, if I wasn’t excited, I wouldn’t have done it. It feels like a great thing to be part of.”
Ridley confessed that she is in the dark in regards to what will happen in the new film – which is scheduled for release in 2026.
She said: “I honestly have no idea. I know the story beats, but other than that, I’m not sure what it’s going to be. But I’m reading a script next month. I’m curious about it all.”

Olly Alexander lands EastEnders cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Alexander is to make a guest appearance in ‘EastEnders’.
The 33-year-old singer-and-actor is currently preparing to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest with his track ‘Dizzy’, and a storyline on the soap next month will see the former Years and Years frontman stop off for a drink with old friend Jonny Carter (Charlie Suff) in the Queen Vic on his way home from rehearsals.
He said in a statement: “I’m thrilled to be making my first appearance on EastEnders and in the most iconic pub in the UK. I’m so happy I got to meet some true screen legends and spend time on set with the brilliant cast and crew.”
Olly had initially hoped to keep his appearance under wraps as a special surprise for his mum.
He said: “I wanted to surprise my mum as it’s her favourite show but I guess the cat is out of the bag now, she’s gonna love it!”
Soap producers were thrilled to land the ‘It’s a Sin’ actor for the cameo.
Producer Chris Clenshaw said: “When we discovered that Olly Alexander was a huge fan of the show and an opportunity arose in one of our stories, it was the perfect moment for us to invite him to Albert Square to appear.
“We hope the audience enjoy Olly’s special guest appearance as much as everyone at EastEnders enjoyed having him in Walford.”
Olly’s appearance will air ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place in Malmo, Sweden on 11 May.
Last year, Cheryl Baker – who won Eurovision in 1981 with her group Bucks Fizz and their song ‘Making Your Mind Up’ – had a cameo in ‘EastEnders’ to mark the competition, and a topical scene was added in to reference the contest being held in the UK.

Nathan Fillion says playing flawed Green Lantern is a ‘gold mine’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nathan Fillion has hailed “flawed” Green Lantern a “gold mine” of a character.
The 53-year-old actor will portray the superhero and his alter ego Guy Gardner in James Gunn’s upcoming ‘Superman’ movie and he thinks there is a real “freedom” in playing the galactic peacekeeper because he just doesn’t care about his faults.
During an interview with Collider, he said: “The reality is that people have flaws. We all have quirks. We all have vulnerabilities.
“You could have the most wonderful family, but be like, ‘Oh, my God, my dad drives me nuts. He’s got this one thing.’ Everybody’s got something, and I love to lean into those faults and flaws. It’s what makes people real and what allows audiences to relate, because we all know what that is. We all have our own. We witness it in other people.
“Guy Gardner is 90 per cent flawed and doesn’t care. That’s one of his flaws. I think there’s a real freedom in playing that. So, for a guy who likes to play flaws and flawed people, Guy Gardner is a gold mine.”
Nathan’s casting was only announced last July but he was first tapped for the role at the premiere party for ‘The Suicide Squad’ in 2021 after James and producer Peter Safran decided the actor would be the perfect fit for Green Lantern.
He recounted: “We were actually at the premiere party after ‘Suicide Squad’ and he [James] was in a huge crowd of people.
“We saw each other in the crowd and I congratulated him, ‘Oh, my God, that was amazing. It’s so great.’ He goes, ‘Hey, did Peter tell you what we’ve got for you next?’ I said, ‘No, he hasn’t said.’
“He looked around like someone was gonna be listening. We were in a throng of people, but he leaned over and said, ‘You’re gonna be Guy Gardner.’”
Nathan had also worked with James on the Marvel movie ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ and is excited to collaborate with the filmmaker again.
He said: “That movie moved me. Those movies make me feel things. And not just crying but feeling joy and feeling connections and feeling the love. It’s about family. It’s so much about family. I just think that’s what James Gunn does best. He says he’s thinking of something else that we’re all thinking of, and he just makes it so much better and he makes the things that matter to us all.”

Zoe Ball ‘bereft’ after mother’s passing

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Ball has been left “bereft” by the death of her mother.
The BBC Radio 2 DJ took to Instagram in the early hours of Wednesday (24.04.24) morning to announce her beloved mum Julia had passed away in a hospice after she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer.
Paying tribute to her on Instagram, Zoe wrote alongside a throwback photo of her mum: “Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy, and how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts.
“We are bereft without you but will hold so tight to each other. your grace and your smile that lit up every room you were in, will light the stars to guide us.(sic)”
Zoe had been taking time away from her presenting duties on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on BBC 2 to look after her mother while Gaby Roslin, 59, filled in for her.
During this morning’s show, Gabby sent her love to her grieving friend.
She said: “It’s no secret Zoe has been off for a little while looking after her mum, Julia.
“Very sadly, Julia lost her fight yesterday and we’re all obviously sending so much love to Zoe and the whole family.
“It’s a horrible, awful time – and I know so many of you have been through this, loving a parent and a loved one, and I think the one thing i’d like to pass on is, grief has no rule. There are no rules about this at all.”
Speaking directly to her friend, Gaby said: “Zoe, I’ll always have your back. I love you dearly, you’re a very dear friend and all of us on the team love you and send you so much love.
“And to anybody else who is fighting the fight and being as brave as they can be, I am sending you lots of love as well.”
The 53-year-old broadcaster had previously explained she was taking time off to support her mother.
She said on air: “I’m trying to be at work on breakfast as often as I can but occasionally need to be home with my Mama.”

James May bought local pub to stop ‘life becoming meaningless’

OHMYGOSSIP — James May bought his local pub so he still has a boozer in walking distance.
The 61-year-old presenter – who is known for fronting ‘Top Gear’ and ‘The Grand Tour’ with co-stars Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond – now has a half share in the Royal Oak at Swallowcliffe, Wilts to help ensure its future.
Appearing on the ‘Lock In’ podcast, he said: “It occurred to me that if that pub disappears, there wouldn’t be a pub within walking distance of the house – and life would become meaningless.”
He also encouraged Jeremy to buy a pub near his brewery in the Cotswolds.
James previously insisted that bars need “clean bogs and good food” to find success, with fewer people going to their locals after a massive decline over the couple of decades.
One in four pubs across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have close their doors since 2001, while the Campaign For Real Ale had claimed a further 30 bars are shutting each week.
James told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I’ve been thinking about this one for a while. In this day and age a good pub has to serve decent food.
“Not all bars can be blessed with a good location. I live in London and my local pubs in Hammersmith, Chiswick and Fulham are located near the river. The best spots have outside areas which are brilliant during the summer.
“But, I believe that for pubs to survive in future they have to adapt to the times and provide more activities.”
He insisted if a pub does close down, it was “because it was not good enough to survive”, and owners need to think about more offerings besides sports on the television.
He suggested: “Imagine a pub where you could learn how to paint, or learn Spanish or maybe woodworking.
“The people who complain ‘we are losing the pub’ are the very people who are never seen in the bar. They like the idea. The role of the pub in society has changed.”
He insisted society – and thus the demand for pubs and bars – has changed over the years, while some are still “sentimental about old world” venues.
James explained: “These places were a ‘home from home’, where single men came in for some food because they could not look after themselves. They have to move with the times.”

The Good Ship Murder future revealed for Catherine Tyldesley mystery drama

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Good Ship Murder’ has been renewed for two more series.
The Channel 5 mystery drama stars former ‘Coronation Street’ castmates Catherine Tyldesley and Shayne Ward as a First Officer Kate Woods and cabaret singer Jack Grayling who find themselves becoming detectives amid a string of deaths on the boat.
Mike Benson – from studio Clapperboard – is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column as saying: “Series one was something of a journey – or mid-price cruise – into the unknown, not least trying to film a drama on a cruise ship with 6,000 holidaymakers heading to eight different countries.”
As well as a second and third series, bosses have also commissioned a Christmas special.
Claire Sweeney will reprise her role as the cruise director, while ‘Hollyoaks’ star Ross Adams joins the cast in his first part since quitting the soap.
Channel 5 chief Paul Testar said: “We’re excited to be bringing this series back.”
Meanwhile, the two stars previously admitted they had high hopes for some high profile celebrity cameos for the next batch of episodes.
Cathrine, 40, previously told RadioTimes.com: “I’ve already got a lot of my friends who are like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe you went filming in Malta on a cruise ship! Is there a second series? I need to get on to my agent!’
“Like, a lot of actors all want to do’ Death in Paradise’ because of the location. And I’ve already got people asking me if we’re going again.
“It would be sacrilegious to not give Jane McDonald some kind of cameo – [even] walking past in the background, she’s got to get in there at some point.”
And Shane, 38, added: “I’ve already got a lovely rapport with [Jane]. So, I mean, she has to come onto the ship and do something. There’s no two ways about it.
“[It would be] an absolute dream to even be in a scene with someone like David Tennant. He can steal the scene a thousand times over, I’d just be grateful.”

Joe Wilkinson ‘didn’t feel comfortable’ asking Katherine Ryan if she was pregnant

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Wilkinson “didn’t feel comfortable” asking Katherine Ryan whether she was pregnant.
The 48-year-old comedian worked with the ‘Taskmaster’ star, 40, on their new Channel 4 show ‘Joe and Katherine’s Bargain Holidays’ – in which the pair travelled around the UK and Europe looking for getaways that offered the best value – and he joked he “wanted to lift up her skirt to make sure” she was definitely expecting during her pregnancy with baby Fenna, who was born December last year,
During an interview with the Metro newspaper’s 60 Seconds column, he said: “I didn’t feel comfortable asking if she was definitely pregnant.
“I want to lift up her skirt to make sure. It turns out she did have a baby though.”
‘The Cockfields’ star admitted he was “quite in love” with his co-star and called her a “wonderful travel companion”.
He added: “I’m quite in love with Katherine. I’ve known her for years – she’s brilliant fun, a wonderful travel companion and she has a brilliant outlook on life.”
Joe was then quizzed on which locations he explored for the programme were his favourite, to which he insisted it was “hard to say”.
He explained: “I liked that we did three trips in the UK and three around Europe. It reminded me how lucky we are in the UK.
“I love Norfolk and the parts of South Wales and Northern Ireland we went to.
“I was blown away by what’s on our doorstep – it makes me want to do more on our little isle.”
Joe also reflected on his ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown’ co-star Sean Lock, who passed away aged 58 in 2021 from cancer.
He said: “Sean was my hero and my idol before I met him.
“It blew me away that I hit it off with Sean. He was very kind with his support of me. He made everyone better, because you had this standard set that you were never going to reach, because Sean was a one-off and the best comedy brain I was ever around.
“You had this bar set so high, so it dragged everyone up.”

Paddy McGuinness: ‘If Christine met someone else, I’d be supportive’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness is open to ex Christine McGuinness seeing other people.
The pair announced their separation after 11 years of marriage in 2022, though have chosen to live together for the sake of their three children Leo, eight, Penelope, eight, and Felicity, five – who all have autism – and despite maintaining the family dynamic, the former ‘Top Gear’ presenter, 50, would be ok if his 36-year-old ex-wife found love with someone else.
Speaking with the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: “If Christine met someone else, I’d be supportive.
“If someone didn’t know our situation and came to our house and they spent the day with us, they would not have a clue [we were not together]. We get on well, we live together and co-parent. We get the lawyers back and forth but that’s separate – that’s a different thing.”
Paddy also revealed he had been on a few dates, but has now decided to stay single and focus on his family.
He explained: “ I tried a couple of dates last year – After twelve months of adjusting to life on my own I felt I should give it a try rather than really wanting to. For now I’m happy being single.
“For now, we’re happy with how things are, living together and helping each other balance work and kids.”
Christine – who was also diagnosed with autism in 2021 – agreed with her former husband, and stressed it was more important she prioritised how her life “feels” instead of “how it looks to others”.
She told The Times newspaper: “We have a unique family, with four of us being autistic and one not. For me, I care more about how my life feels than how it looks to others.
“I don’t know how I would have felt if I hadn’t been diagnosed [with autism]. But now I understand myself and my children, I am quite strong in doing what I believe is right, rather than what society says you should do.
“Right now I’m focusing on the children. I’m focusing on work and I’m quite happy to put my love life on hold to be a mum.”

Al Pacino and Dan Stevens to star in exorcism horror The Ritual

OHMYGOSSIP — Al Pacino and Dan Stevens have been cast in ‘The Ritual’.
The duo will play troubled priests in the exorcism horror film from director David Midell.
XYZ Films have acquired worldwide rights to the project – which is based on a true story and has been written by Midell and Enrico Natale – and are planning to release it in cinemas in 2025 and arrange international distribution at the forthcoming Cannes market.
‘The Ritual’ follows a pair of priests – one who is questioning his faith (Stevens) and another reckoning with a troubled past (Pacino) – who have to put their differences aside to save a possessed young woman through a dangerous series of exorcisms.
The flick is an authentic portrayal of Emma Schmidt, an American woman whose demonic possession concluded with harrowing exorcisms.
Dan, 41, is coming off the back of a part in the monster movie ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ and had a “ton of fun” making the film with director Adam Wingard and his co-star Rebecca Hall.
He told Entertainment Tonight: “It’s an incredible call to get at the best of times, but to get it from an old friend, Adam Wingard, who directed the last installment of these, to join Rebecca Hall, who is one of my oldest buddies, Brian Tyree Henry, who I adore – and they wrote me an incredible character.
“So, you know, it was just a ton of fun.”
Dan rose to fame as Matthew Crawley in ‘Downton Abbey’ and is “excited” about the prospect of a third movie, even though he bowed out of the TV series after season three.
