Nicholas Galitzine went to boyband bootcamp

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicholas Galitzine went to boyband bootcamp to prepare for ‘The Idea of You’.
The 29-year-old actor stars opposite Anne Hathaway in the new romcom as the singer in boyband August Moon, with his bandmates – Jaiden Anthony, Raymond Cham Jr., Vik White, and Dakota Adan – all professional dancers, and the quintet spent five weeks undergoing intensive training with choreographer Dani Vitale so the leading man could learn the swagger of a pop star while the others toned down their usual skills, as well as working together as a group.
Nicholas told The Hollywood Reporter: “I just had to learn how not to stick out like a sore thumb. For me, it was more about creating those little moments with each other on stage, I think that’s what really sells it.”
Vik added: “We had to learn how not to do too much.”
After their bootcamp, the fictional band had to film a Coachella performance – which was done in Atlanta Motor Speedway parking lot – and shots from their tour, and Nicholas admitted it was a daunting task.
He said: “It was pretty nerve-wracking, but I think we were all quite emotional when it finished because we had put so much effort into it.”
After that, the actor had to go to Sweden to record his vocals for the soundtrack.
Lead songwriter and producer Savan Kotecha – who previously penned tracks for One Direction – said: “We did what we would usually do in three weeks in three days. Nick was such a trooper…
“He really took it seriously, which was exactly who Hayes Campbell was.
“That’s what I loved about the character, he had a lot of integrity. He wanted to earn it, and Nick is the same way. He gave everything to this role and to the sessions in Sweden. It wasn’t always easy, but he just made the songs come alive.”
Despite having a lot to learn for the movie, the actor is hoping he can explore more musical opportunities in the future.
He said: “I feel like I learned a huge amount about myself working on this.
“It was an incredibly steep learning curve.
“I am setting some things in motion already. I definitely have an eye to the future for this sort of stuff.”

Zendaya struggled with learning tennis

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya was “driving [herself] crazy” trying to master tennis for ‘Challengers’.
The 27-year-old star had just six weeks to convincingly portray sporting prodigy-turned-coach Tashi Donaldson in her latest movie and admitted she was “incredibly nervous” about the role because her skills were so limited.
She told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I had no idea about tennis. I knew nothing.
“All I really knew of tennis was Venus and Serena [Williams].
“It was terrifying as a challenge to take on because you know you’re supposed to be a great tennis player and I’ve never been a great tennis player.
“I was incredibly nervous just showing up.
“I was driving myself crazy trying to become a player.
“I remember when I first started hitting the ball, it would go off into the trees. It was never even close to the court. I was like, ‘Damn, I’ve got a long way to go.’
“It’s not a game you can just pick up right away. Unless you’ve been playing it since you were four, it’s just not happening for you.
“So sometimes I would come in and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I got this, OK’, like something clicked. And then you come in the next day and you can’t re-create it. And you’re like, ‘Damn, back to square one.’ ”
The actress eventually got comfortable by utilising her dance background to view the court moves as choreography she needed to master.
She explained: “I said to myself, ‘I’m a dancer, so let me dance this thing out’, and I began to focus on that.
“That became my entry into looking like a tennis player because I knew I wasn’t going to be one, but I could really fake it.”

Scott Mills urges Olly Alexander to ‘stay away’ from him and Rylan Clark before Eurovision

OHMYGOSSIP — Scott Mills has urged Olly Alexander to “stay away” from him and Eurovision co-presenter Rylan Clark.
The 51-year-old DJ, who has presented BBC Radio 2’s coverage of the competition for 13 years, admitted he has to act as a “minder” for his co-host to stop him from leading the UK entrants astray with his wild partying, so wants this year’s hopeful to stay well away from them until after the final.
He told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “I do have to look after Rylan and make sure he doesn’t go too far astray.
“In previous years – though he’s not allowed to any more – he has taken the UK contestants out for the night, and that can’t really happen because they need to sing on Saturday. He wouldn’t take them out the night before the final, but maybe the night before that..
“He always goes straight in while I’ll hold back a bit, so I’m like his minder. I’m the one who makes sure he goes to bed and doesn’t
turn up late.
“But having said that, I have gone astray at times. There have been nights that ended at 5am, and some of the hangovers have been bad.
“In Sam Ryder’s year – and Sam is a good friend of mine – he absolutely swerved me and Rylan for the whole week and it was the right thing to do.
“I remember him coming towards us in the hotel in Turin and being like, ‘Hi, guys, I just need to go and rehearse’. “He did well to stay away from us – and now Olly needs to do the same.”
Scott believes the ‘It’s A Sin’ actor can win the competition with his track ‘Dizzy’ because he won’t let nerves get the better of him.
He said: “This year, I really think it could be anyone’s. All it takes is a great performance.
“Olly is a world-class actor who has experience of these big stages so that won’t faze him.
“Add that to the staging – and I hear his is amazing – and we could be in for a surprise.
“I know him well and I think he’ll breeze it because he’s a seasoned performer. You often see people’s nerves run away with them but that isn’t going to happen to Olly.”

William Shatner open to reviving Captain Kirk for another Star Trek movie

OHMYGOSSIP — William Shatner is open to reviving his ‘Star Trek’ character Captain Kirk for another movie.
The 93-year-old actor played the starship commander in three seasons of the original TV show between 1966 and 1969 and five movies before the character was killed off in his sixth movie appearance in 1994’s ‘Star Trek Generations’ – but Shatner is adamant he’d be happy to bring Kirk back if the story made sense.
Speaking to The Canadian Press, he explained: “It’s an intriguing idea [bringing Kirk back]. It’s almost impossible, but it was a great role and so well-written, and if there were a reason to be there not just to make a cameo appearance, but if there were a genuine reason for the character appearing, I might consider it.”
Shatner went on to mull over the use of technology which de-ages actors and would allow him to play a young version of Kirk as well as a scenario in which the captain could be physically resurrected.
He added: “A company that wants to freeze my body and my brain for the future might be a way of going about it. We’ve got Captain Kirk’s brain frozen here.’ There’s a scenario. ‘Let’s see if we can bring back a little bit of this, a little salt, a little pepper. Oh, look at that. Here comes Captain Kirk!”
Shatner latest screen project is the documentary ‘You Can Call Me Bill’ which looks back over his life and career and he recently opened up about how he stays healthy well into his 90s.
He told PEOPLE: “Just staying engaged in life, to stay curious. But the luck has a lot to do with it in your health.
“Your life’s energy, the soul energy of your body is a product of health. If you’re sick, you can’t be energetic. You’re dying. So my luck has been, I’ve been healthy all my life.”

The Fall Guy 2 script already exists but first movie needs to be a hit

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Gosling has revealed a sequel to ‘The Fall Guy’ has already been written.
The 43-year-old actor stars opposite ‘Oppenheimer’ actress Emily Blunt, 41, in the new comedy as seasoned movie stuntman Colt Seavers, and he has confirmed the cast and crew were desperate to find out what happens to the pair so there is another script, but the first movie’s success will determine if the second will ever see the light of day.
In a recent interview with Fast Company, Gosling said: “The sequel sort of wrote itself.
“We already know [the story] intimately. We’re just hoping that people like this movie enough that we get to keep telling the story of these characters. We love them so much, and we love this world, and I feel confident that we can do it.”
He continued: “We already—I mean, we love these characters so much that we wanted to know, just for ourselves, what happens to Colt and [Blunt’s character] Jody after the movie ends?
“What’s the next phase for them? And we know exactly what it is. So hopefully the audience wants to know, too.”
The flick only made $28.5 million in its opening weekend but is proving popular nonetheless, with scores in the early 80s already on Rotten Tomatoes.
Meanwhile, Gosling and Blunt have shared how the ‘Barbie’ star saved the ‘Devil Wears Prada’ actress from a monsoon during filming in Australia – whilst she was casually mediating.
Emily told Entertainment Weekly: “Yeah, this story is ridiculous. To be fair to Ryan, I had not realised that there was a monsoon that had hit base camp. I was having a quiet little 22-minute meditation to myself, at which point my door blew open. It was like a hurricane was going on, and Ryan was like Last of the Mohicans: ‘You need to leave!’ I was meditating, and now he thinks I meditate too much.”
Gosling responded: “I thought you were too chill. This is a problem! You’re too zen, wading out in this knee-deep water.”
Blunt continued: “The trailers were floating away. I mean, I was surprised that my driver, Scott, had not come and knocked on the door saying, ‘We should go.’ Scott was just listening to Spotify.
Gosling said: “I think he got washed away. I just saw his hands above the surface.”
Blunt concluded: “All I remember from that day is Aaron Taylor-Johnson [Tom Ryder] taking off most of his clothes and running around basecamp in the water. He was still very much in character. Just a regular, run-of-the-mill day on set in Australia. We went to Australia for the weather, and that’s what we ended up with.”

Faye Winter’s terrifying cancer scare

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ beauty Faye Winter suffered a terrifying cancer scare when she found a lump in her breast.
The 28-year-old reality star had admitted she experienced a “massive wake-up call” when she made the discovering on holiday when applying sun lotion after forgetting to check herself regularly.
She told OK! magazine: “There was a lot going on for me last year anyway, and so amid it all I forgot to even check my breasts. It was a massive wake-up call when I was just actually on holiday with my ‘Love Island’ girls, having a bit of a breather and to then find a lump by accident as I was putting sun cream on.
“It was terrifying. In those moments, before I knew the outcome, it was obviously very scary.”
Faye was rushed through for an ultrasound by her GP and was relived to discover the lump wasn’t cancerous.
She explained: “I was terrified, but thankfully I didn’t need to be – it ended up being benign …
“I can’t fault my experience of the NHS. It’s very rare that I go private. I had the lump checked by a nurse at my GP. She then said that she was going to put me forward for the two-week accelerated check. That was when it was a bit scary for me because I thought, ‘She obviously thinks it could be potentially something for her to rush it through so quickly’.
“But I went and had the ultrasound done at Torbay Hospital and very quickly got the all clear. Everyone in there was just lovely.”
Faye went on to reveal she now makes sure she checks her breasts regularly. She added: |”It’s very easy for me to remember to do it on the first. I set myself an alarm on my phone, just as I would normally for getting up.

Katya Jones fears her ‘maternal clock’ is ticking

OHMYGOSSIP — Katya Jones has shared her concerns about her “maternal clock” ticking.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional was married to her co-star on the BBC One Latin and ballroom show, Neil Jones, 42, before she was caught smooching her celebrity dance partner, comedian Seann Walsh, 38, in 2018.
And the 35-year-old dancer has admitted it’s a struggle to balance her career with meeting someone and starting a family.
Speaking on pal Aimee Fuller’s ‘Monday Mile’ podcast, she said: “Yes. Modern females of our age, we can have careers, pursue our passions. Be happy and fulfilled on our own. However, on the other side, it doesn’t stop our maternal clock or our ageing process, unfortunately. So how do you balance those two things?”
Katya faced a barrage of abuse online for the infidelity with Seann, who also had a girlfriend at the time, but she insists she has learned how to “disconnect from it”.
She said: “I have totally learned to disconnect from it.
“It does not define who I am. What matters to me is us walking right now, you knowing who I am and that’s enough. That is enough for me.
“My family knowing and loving me for who I am, that’s enough for me.
“But would I like to add value to the world? Yes. And I already do it in some ways.
“Sometimes people ask me, what do you do for a job? And I think I make people happy because that’s what Strictly does.”
As for Seann, he is still haunted by the kissing scandal, and recently revealed he has never danced since and is even disturbed by ‘Strictly No Parking’ zones.
The stand-up – who was in a relationship with actress Rebecca Humphries at the time – told fellow comic Russell Howard on the ‘Wonderbox’ podcast: “I do not dance. What it is more actually is when you turn up to any car park or something, and it says, ‘Strictly No Parking’. I still just go, ‘Arghh’, every time I see it.
“I can hear the word — like a dog hearing something — I can just hear the word strictly and I still go, ‘Arghh!'”
Neil has moved on with ‘Love Island’ star Chyna Mills, 25, with whom he welcomed a daughter, Havana, in October, and is engaged to.

The pair have been cast in the new movie from writer-director Michael Sarnoski – whose credits include ‘Pig’ and the forthcoming ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ – that will be on sale at this month’s Cannes market.
The picture has been billed as a dark take on the classic tale of Robin Hood and sees the titular character fighting with his past after a life of crime and murder, a battle-scarred loner who is gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman who offers him the possibility of salvation.

Ryder and Swett added: “This is not the story of Robin Hood we’ve all come to know.
“Instead, Michael has crafted something far more grounded and visceral. Thanks to Alexander Black and our friends at Lyrical along with Rama (Gottumukkala, executive producer) and Michael, the world is going to love seeing Hugh and Jodie together in this epic.”

She said: “I did do all of my own stunts on this, but I don’t have to be as stunty as Gosling…

Johannes Radebe will be on Strictly Come Dancing for years to come

OHMYGOSSIP — Johannes Radebe has shut down talk that he could quit ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 37-year-old dancer has been a popular figure since joining the professional line-up on the hit BBC show in 2018 and has dismissed rumours that he could leave after landing his “dream” role as drag queen Lola in a UK tour of the musical ‘Kinky Boots’ next year.
Speaking at his ‘House of JoJo’ dance show at the London Palladium on Saturday (04.05.24), Johannes said: “‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is a great show. If you’re not watching it on Saturday, what are you doing?
“I will do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for as long as my bones allow.”
Johannes even suggested that he may even try and steal Craig Revel Horwood’s place on the judging panel.
The South African dancer added: “And then I will go for Craig’s job.”
Johannes reached the semi-finals of ‘Strictly’ with former tennis player Annabel Croft last year and paid tribute to the “wonderful woman” at the event after both bonded over grief during their time on the show – which came after the dancer’s cousin took his own life and Annabel’s husband Mel Coleman passed away after a battle with cancer.
He told The Daily Mirror: “Strictly’ can be hard because you never know what is going to happen. I was dreading it because it’s six months and you don’t know who you will be paired with.
“But then I was paired with this wonderful woman. Not only did Annabel make sure I was OK emotionally, her family also opened their doors for me.”

Alison Hammond was ‘scared’ of dogs during This Morning segment

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Hammond was “scared” of dogs during an interview for ‘This Morning’.
The 49-year-old presenter – who took over from the late Paul O’Grady as the host of the popular programme ‘For the Love of Dogs’ – visited Claire-Louise Nixon, the founder of Wheels to Paws UK, a charity for disabled dogs, and met with 27 canines for a segment on the ITV daytime show but the guest has revealed that Alison was terrified of the pooches and only did the piece to pay the bills.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I did ask her, ‘Why did you do this interview if you are scared of dogs?’ She replied, ‘I’ve got to pay my mortgage’.”
Nixon also revealed that ‘The Great British Bake Off’ host insisted the segment had to be shot outside due to her dog fear.
She said: “Alison was scared of dogs when she came to interview me so we had to do it outside.”
However, an ITV spokesperson explained the segment was not filmed indoors because it was “more appropriate” if shooting took place outside.
They told the MailOnline: “The decision to film outside was made by the production team entirely independently of Alison purely on the basis that it was a more appropriate fit for the item and the show and any suggestion otherwise is inaccurate.”
Alison admitted that she could understand why some viewers were unhappy that she had succeeded Paul on ‘For the Love of Dogs’ as she does not own a pooch herself.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I could understand in the sense that Paul was so loved, and people were saying, ‘How can she do Love Of Dogs when she doesn’t have a dog? How does she love dogs when she doesn’t have a dog?’”
Hammond previously explained that her phobia of dogs could be traced back to when she watched a boy get attacked by a vicious canine.
In her autobiography ‘You’ve Got To Laugh’, she wrote: “The dog took a massive chunk out of his leg and blood poured everywhere.
“I had to help him hobble back to his mum, screaming in pain.
“For weeks afterwards, the kids on our street never stopped talking about savage dogs and gushing wounds.”

James May rules out working with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond again

OHMYGOSSIP — James May thinks he won’t ever work with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond again.
The 61-year-old TV star has presented alongside Jeremy, 64, and Richard, 54, from 2003 to 2015 on ‘Top Gear’, and then again on ‘The Grand Tour’ – which has been running since 2016 – though he has now insisted the trio likely won’t appear on the screen together again after their final special for the hit Amazon Prime show airs.
Speaking to Unilad, he said: “I think people would only really like us doing cars, despite what some people say – ‘Oh, I think you should all go off and do cooking or you should all go and do a podcast about nothing.’
“But I don’t think so, I think we should let it lie, what we did.”
This comes after Clarkson revealed he and his ‘The Grand Tour’ co-stars would be leaving the programme because he had run out of ideas for future instalments of the series.
During an interview with The Times newspaper, he said: “I’ve driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else. We’ve done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air.”
The ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ presenter added the physical demands of the programme had become too taxing since he became “unfit and fat and old”.
He quipped: “If you’re Bear Grylls you go to a hotel – there aren’t any hotels in the Sahara desert.”
Jeremy then dismissed James’ previous comment in which he said the trio’s working relationship was “fuelled by mutual loathing.”
He explained: “We’ve spent more time in each other’s company than our families’ over the last 25 years so I don’t think it would have lasted as long as it did if we’d hated each other as much as James likes to think.”
The trio’s former show ‘Top Gear’ has been put on hold by the BBC after presenter Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff suffered serious injuries in a crash during filming for the programme in 2022 but Hammond expects to return in some form “one day”.
He told The Daily Mail newspaper: “I don’t know. I have no doubt ‘Top Gear’ will come back one day. Somebody will pick it up and run with it. It’ll be a different show.”

Jon Watts hopes to helm A Nightmare on Elm Street film

OHMYGOSSIP — Jon Watts hopes to direct a movie in the ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ franchise.
The 42-year-old filmmaker is known for his work on the ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy that featured Tom Holland as the superhero but has revealed that he would love to delve into the horror genre by making a picture in the iconic series that centres on the disfigured dream killer Freddy Krueger.
Quizzed on his dream project by Collider, Jon said: “I love ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’. I think ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ is so cool, and I think you could keep making ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ forever.
“I would really, really have to think about it. I love ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’. I think it’s so… they’re so great. I love those movies. Why aren’t there more of them?”
Robert Englund made the role of Freddy Krueger his own in the hit franchise but accepts that another actor will portray the villain should another movie materialise in the future.
The 76-year-old star told The Daily Beast: “Here’s my proprietary fix on Freddy. For many years, I didn’t want to wear the makeup in public because we couldn’t light it like we do theatrically on sets. I didn’t want the audience to be disappointed, seeing Freddy out of the context of a ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ film. I wanted to protect it that way.
“But I’m a Hollywood kid, and I certainly understand that other people are going to play Freddy. I’m not an idiot—my momma didn’t raise no fool—and I understand that it’s far too successful a franchise to not remake it again at some point.”

Ben Schwartz hails introduction of Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Schwartz has teased the “gratifying” introduction of Shadow in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’.
It was announced last month that Keanu Reeves would be lending his voice to the character in the third instalment of the film franchise based on Sega’s popular video games and Ben – who will once again be voicing the titular speedster – says that Shadow has been included with the fans in mind.
The 42-year-old star told Screen Rant: “Well, I think it’s also exciting for me when you get to introduce another character from the video games.
“For me, it’s gratifying and lovely, and also, Shadow, to me – people have rankings of which is their favourite Sonic characters, but to me, I think we’re hitting all of the A sides. We’re hitting all the big hits, like all the ones that are just extraordinary, and these are characters that in different games you could play as. So, it’s pretty remarkable.”
Ben believes that the introduction of characters such as Shadow and the changes made to Sonic’s appearance in the original movie after a trailer was heavily criticised shows that film bosses always have the audience at heart with their work on the franchise.
The ‘Parks and Recreation’ actor said: “I love the intro to him in this film, and I think fans are going to be excited.
“And I think fans understand how much we care about them, think about how much we changed the film from the response to the first trailer, which I think was the very right move. I think fans will feel like they’re being taken care of, I hope, because we always do it for them, and it hasn’t failed yet.
“We get to make a third one, there’s a spin-off, so the idea that we’re still doing this, man, you think about where we started and where we are right now, it’s pretty remarkable. So we’re very excited.”

Davina McCall slams ‘cruel’ online trolls for weight taunts

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall has hit back at cruel online trolls for jibes about her weight.
The 56-year-old star was taken aback by the nasty reaction when she posted an advert on social media as several users suggested that she looked gaunt and unwell and made a video where she issued an angry response to the taunts.
Davina said in the clip: “I just thought I’d quickly do a post about the, I guess it’s abuse that I’m getting about my weight. It’s really frustrating. I feel like people post these things and have no consequences.
“Because they can post whatever they like and be cruel and I just have to take it. And I’m actually just left sitting feeling furious. I’m a 5ft 6in woman who weighs 61 kilos. I don’t diet, I exercise. I eat relatively healthily. And I enjoy sharing that journey.”
The ‘Masked Singer’ judge continued: “I’m 57 this year and I’m happy with the way I look and I feel absolutely great. All you have to do is look at the rest of the posts on my page and see that I’m not unhealthy.
“This has been horrible. Maybe think before you post something and wouldn’t it be nicer to say something positive. And if you can’t say anything positive, don’t bother.”
Meanwhile, Davina recently confessed that she feared she would “become irrelevant” as she got older but has found herself happier than ever during her 50s.
The former ‘Big Brother’ presenter told HELLO! magazine: “Getting older is so much better than you think it’s going to be. I’m 56 now and proud of my age – I don’t try to hide it.
“I used to fear getting older, that I’d become irrelevant.
“I felt as though getting older was uncool and awful, but actually, I’m happier in this decade than I’ve ever been.
“I’m a bit calmer, a bit wiser, less tough on myself.”
