‘I’m a movie star now’: Blake Shelton pays 40k for cameo role

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Shelton has paid $40,000 for his first movie role.
The 47-year-old country singer is set to share the screen with Mark Wahlberg in an upcoming film after making the winning bid for a cameo during a live auction at the Keep Memory Alive’s 27th Annual Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas on Friday (10.05.24) night.
According to People magazine, Blake – who was honoured at the event for his philanthropic work – joked on stage later in the evening: “I don’t know if you guys saw the auction earlier. This is maybe the last time I’m ever gonna perform country music.
“I’m a movie star now. I’m not f****** around.”
But despite his apparent career change, Blake went on to perform ‘Sweet Caroline’, ‘Ole Red’ and ‘Sangria’ before inviting his wife and “secret weapon”Gwen Stefani on stage to sing ‘Nobody But You’ with him.
The No Doubt frontwoman had paid a touching tribute to her spouse earlier in the evening.
She said: “His heart is as big as his voice. His talent is obvious and he lights up the room and brings a smile to everyone he meets that makes us all love him so much. So whether he’s supporting an important cause and organisations across the country, he’s an incredible person.
“He supports veterans. He supports children’s hospitals, food banks, supports people with disabilities, disaster relief efforts, wildlife conservation or local communities in need, Blake’s generosity is genuine and endless. His dedication to giving back and making a difference and using his platform for good, both publicly and behind the scenes is truly inspiring.”
While it is unclear which movie Blake will appear in, Mark currently has four projects in the pipeline.
‘The Union’ and ‘Flight Risk’ can likely be ruled out for the former ‘Voice’ star’s cameo as they are both in post-production, but the ‘Instant Family’ star currently has ‘Play Dirty’ in production and ‘The Six Billion Dollar Man’ in pre-production.

Ben Schwartz teases Sonic the Hedgehog 3: ‘I’m not going to give you specifics, but…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Schwartz is “excited about everything” in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’.
The 42-year-old actor voiced the role of Sega’s flagship character in the first two films based on their iconic gaming franchise and ahead of the third instalment – which is due for release in December – he has teased that the movie will be “influenced” by 2001’s ‘Sonic Adventure 2’.
He told Screen Rant: ” I’m not going to give you specifics, but I will say the movie’s definitely influenced by, at the very least, that game. You can also see it even in the logo, you kind of already see that, or the music that was playing during aspects of that logo reveal. So, there’s definitely influence from Sonic Adventure 2, as well as other games. I can’t tell you how excited I am about everything.
“Jim Carrey is going to be extraordinary [as Dr. Robotnik], Jeff Fowler has brought it times 1000 directing it.
“I can’t confirm or deny who Shadow is, who knows who Shadow is going to be, but from what I’ve heard and gathered, he’s awesome, and it’s going to be great. It’s going to be great.”
The former ‘DuckTales’ star has already finished recording all of his lines and that the live-action portions of the film are now ready to commence shooting but will still be working with the crew to “tinker” things so that his part in the film can help it become the “coolest movie” it can be.
He said: “I’m so excited with this movie. I finished all my lines, but what I basically do is I do the script first, then they film. Now, they’re going to bring me back all the footage, and we play with the lines, we improvise, we do it.
“The good thing about having a voice actor or an animated character be the lead, or one of the leads, of the movie is that whenever we need to edit scenes or something that we can just keep recording my voice and have me say different things over and over again, that part doesn’t cost money.
” It’s animating my mouth that costs money, so we’re going to tinker and make this the best thing we can do and make it the funniest thing and make it just the coolest movie. It is enormous, this film is enormous. ”

Henry Winkler for Line of Duty role?

OHMYGOSSIP — Henry Winkler has teased a ‘Line of Duty’ role could be on the way.
The ‘Happy Days’ legend and his wife Stacey are huge fans of the BBC police corruption drama series and he revealed he had recently had an interesting discussion with showrunner Jed Mercurio about a potential project.
He told Telegraph magazine: “Stacey and I love television. We binged ‘Line of Duty’.
“I just had a chat with Jed Mercurio, the man behind it. He had an idea he wanted to float by me – and let me just say that I liked his boat.”
The 78-year-old actor has appeared in numerous projects over the years but he’s happy to still be recognised as The Fonz from ‘Happy Days’.
He said: “I’m taking the Fonz and Beyond tour around the UK next month. I talk about my life, fears, children, dogs, my wife, my parents, who were difficult, and my career. I’m fine to still be known for the Fonz. I won an Emmy for ‘Barry’, so what do I care?”
His comments came after the show’s star Vicky McClure previously admitted she and the rest of the cast were thrilled when Henry had tweeted about his love of the programme.
She told Cosmopolitan magazine: “We did have The Fonz, aka Henry Winkler, tweet us that he’s a fan of the show which was the biggest moment for us all.
“He’s the biggest man on earth. It’s gone stateside. And who’s cooler than The Fonz? So that’s always stuck with me.”
Meanwhile, Vicky’s co-star Martin Compston recently admitted he’d love former ‘EastEnders’ star Danny Dyer sign up to play a villain in ‘Line of Duty’.
He was quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: “[Danny] would be a great shout [as a ‘bent copper’ on the show].
“Danny is something else, honestly, he is one of our treasures. He is a wonderful actor – it would be good to see [him] in there.”

Rylan Clark faced pirate kidnap threat

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark was at risk of being kidnapped by pirates while filming his new TV show.
The 35-year-old presenter spent a month shooting ‘Dating Naked UK’ for Paramount+ in Colombia, but being a “person of note” meant he was at risk of being abducted for a ransom.
He told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “I was out there for a month, and they are quite liberal, but the one thing I had to worry about was being a person of note from Europe — so a genuine concern was pirates.
“That sounds really crazy, but actual pirates were the biggest concern because we were on an island filming the show.
“Moving around at night when we were filming could have ended up with pirate boats coming to get me.
“Apparently they never hurt you, they just want a bit of dollar.”
But Rylan doesn’t think the pirates would have kept him for long – and he wouldn’t have been too upset if he had been kidnapped.
He said: “They’d get rid of me after 15 minutes.”
He then quipped: “I’d have a lovely life at sea — as long as I got a Jolly Roger at the end of it.”
The 10-episode series sees singletons in their birthday suits looking for love in a tropical paradise, and the former ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ presenter previously teased it will be must-see TV.
He said: “It is no secret that I love a reality TV show, but this one is going to blow your minds.
“Not only does it feature dating and drama — on top of that everyone will be totally starkers.
“You will not want to miss this — I can’t wait for you all to see.”

Jasmine was just 14 when she made the decision to leave her family after being granted the “worst behaved child” by Westminster Social Services following a series of bad decisions but insisted that even though it was a “tough” thing to do, it put her on the path to where she is now.
She told HungerTV: “My parents raised me to be very independent. I always pride myself on being able to walk into a room and read people. In a way, it is a wall and it protects me, but it’s the best thing that anybody could have. [Going into foster care] was a big eye-opener for me.
“It’s crazy actually looking at yourself in the mirror like that at such a young age. It was a tough decision for all of us, and it wasn’t easy but we’re here now and it was the best thing I ever did.”

Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan win BAFTA whilst hosting the awards show

OHMYGOSSIP — Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan won a BAFTA for Best Comedy Entertainment whilst they were actually hosting the show.
The comedy duo took on hosting duties for the British Academy Television Awards with P+O Cruises on Sunday (12.05.24) evening but were taken aback when comedienne Katherine Ryan arrived to present an award and called out the title of their Sky Max show ‘Rob and Romesh Vs …’.
Speaking live on stage at the Royal Festival Hall, Rob said: “We’d like to say thank you to everyone who makes the show, obviously it’s a huge undertaking. Most importantly, Lou and Lisa, our wonderful wives…”
Romesh quipped: “Actually, to be fair, Lisa hasn’t been wonderfully supportive!”
The double act had beaten out ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Joey Lycett’s ‘Late Night Lycett’ and ‘Would I Lie To You?’ for the accolade and hastily resumed hosting the ceremony as the rest of the team left the stage.
Rob joked: “Right, so we’ve gotta awkwardly carry on hosting the show now, haven’t we?”
Of their on-screen partnership, Rob previously joked that it was borne out of television bosses seeing Romesh and thinking he was “great” but needed something to make him “funny” on screen.
He said: ” I think what happened was, people saw Romesh’s shows and thought ‘he’s great but he needs laughs’; so basically they get Beckett in, try and tickle it up, a few funnies as well as the ‘ooh look at all these issues I’m looking at’. So, if you like Romesh but you want a laugh when you’re watching him, then this is the show for you.”
Immediately after their win, Cheltenham Festival Day One won for Best Sports Coverage, having been up against MOTD Live: Fifa Women’s World Cup 2023 and Wimbledon 2023: Men’s Final.

Timothy Spall failed to prepare a speech before his big win at the BAFTAs: ‘Just look it up on IMDb’

OHMYGOSSIP — Timothy Spall didn’t expect to win Best Leading Actor at the BAFTA Awards with P+O Cruises on Sunday (12.05.24) evening.
The 67-year-old actor fought off competition from Brian Cox, (‘Succession’) Dominic West, (‘The Crown’) Kane Robinson, (‘Top Boy’ ) Paapa Essiedu, (‘The Lazarus Project’) Steve Coogan (‘The Reckoning’) after playing murder victim Peter Farquhar in ‘The Sixth Commandment’ but hadn’t even written a speech in preparation.
Speaking on stage at the Royal Festival Hall, he said: “Oh dear…I say that because I know everybody says ‘What a surprise’ but…I am surprised. I didn’t actually write anything down. Just look it up on IMDb, and you’ll see who is involved!
“Each and every soul of them is brilliant, Sarah Phelps’ script is magnificent. The reality is sometimes you get a chance to play people who have had a terrible thing happen to them and all they wanted was love. it’s a beautiful thing to be able to tell a story about someone like that. This is a story about many things, it’s crime, but it’s also about love.
“We’re just storytellers really, aren’t we? Well, when we can all share in this human condition, some of it horrible, some of it beautiful, some of it both.”
The esteemed actor worked alongside the likes of ‘Dinnerladies’ star Anne Reid and Dame Sheila Hancock on the series and joked that even though their industry can be “silly and stupid”, he loved getting to work alongside such “talented” people.
He said: “Acting is a silly, stupid thing, The other actors are all bloody brilliant in this, and I’m in awe of their talent. This is lovely, I’ve always wanted one of these, I’ll shut up now because I’m dribbling on but I’m just pleased to be amongst you lot. We have quite a good life, really, don’t we?”

Dancing on Ice star Sonny Jay welcomes first child with Liam Payne’s ex-girlfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Dancing on Ice’ star Sonny Jay and his girlfriend Danielle Peazer have welcomed their first child together.
The 30-year-old radio star – who won the 13th series of the ITV figure skating show in 2021 – has been dating wellness entrepreneur Danielle, 35, who was previously in a relationship with former One Direction star Liam Payne, 30, since last year.
And over the weekend, the couple took to Instagram to announce the arrival of their baby girl by sharing a sweet video of the newborn wriggling legs.
They captioned the post: “And then there were 3…She’s here and she’s perfect.”
Sonny and Danielle have not disclosed the name of the little bundle or any further details about the birth.
The couple have been showered with messages of congratulations, with former Little Mix star Perrie Edwards commenting: “Omg Congratulations gorgeous! Enjoy every second of that perfect baby bubble.”
Her bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock gushed: “Congrats guys! This is so beautiful.”
Olly Murs wrote: “Awww huge congratulations.”
Reacting on her Instagram Story, the new mum wrote: “So overwhelmed by all of the lovely comments and messages on baby girls arrival. Thank you so much.”
Danielle also admitted it had been a “hormonal rollercoster” and she could not have done it without Sonny by her side.
Before his little girl’s arrival, Sonny spilled Danielle’s “weird” craving for egg mayonnaise early in the morning.
He shared on the ‘Capital Late Show with Sonny Jay’: “There are not many times as a radio presenter that you get to share some good, solid, personal news, and I think it’s nice to be able to share it with you because I feel like you’re on my journey, do you know what I mean? I started this show over a year ago and I feel like we’re friends now so I feel like I can tell you stuff so if you don’t mind, basically I put up some good news on Instagram earlier that I cannot believe I’m saying this, I’m becoming a dad. Me an actual dad! Can you believe it, I’m genuinely so excited!?
“Does that mean people call me Daddy now [laughs], is that a thing?
“I don’t know, but honestly I’m so excited, my girlfriend Danielle has been amazing other than weird old cravings, egg mayo in the morning, I mean, just not for me.”
The former ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ star first shared their baby news in a joint post with his girlfriend uploaded to the social media site back in January.
They wrote: “It’s a secret we’ve been keeping for a while, enjoying this little bubble of excitement and preparing for our biggest adventure so far. But now we feel ready to share this journey with you, including the highs (and inevitable tantrums) it will bring. Arriving Spring 2024.”

Ali Bastian moves to Ireland after suffering ‘burnout’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ali Bastian has moved her family to Ireland for a fresh start after suffering “burnout”.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star has revealed she’s left her life in London behind after a difficult period in which she struggled to recover following her second pregnancy and suffered the death of her best friends just a week after her daughter was born in 2023 – and she decided a new home in Ireland for herself, her husband David O’Mahony and their two children – Isla and Isabella – would help her heal after a refreshing family holiday there.
In a post on Instagram, she showed off their new home and wrote: “Saying good bye to my London flat was very emotional, I’ve lived there for about 18 years.
“I rented it first and then bought it a few years later. It was the most secure I had ever felt … I moved around a lot as a child and for many reasons often felt very unsettled.
“This flat was my life raft through highs and lows of my career, through the madness of Covid, it’s where my babies came home from the hospital, took their first steps … all the magical mess of life. The good, the bad … the hilarious and then the heartbreak.
“I never thought I would want to leave but life had other plans.”
She went on to explain: “I had a very difficult second birth and postpartum period with my second and in the end my little fam went to Ireland for a circuit breaker last year as my body just wasn’t healing.
“Two weeks after being in Ireland my c-section finally closed up, I was about seven months post partum by then.
“My nervous system finally had the break it so desperately needed – I was certainly suffering a major burn out at that point and London life was just too much on top of everything else.
“When we came back to London there were more turbulent times to come and some tremendous losses that brought me to my knees. Somehow I put one foot in front of the other for my husband and babies.”
Ali explained she felt “too raw” to return to acting and she needed a change. Ali added: “Slowly a plan was hatched and here we are now sitting in our little house, overlooking the ocean on the West Coast of Ireland …
“This is more than a house renno project for us … this move has felt like our best chance of healing … No longer needing to be a life raft but more a spring board into an exciting future.”
