‘I was so distressed!’ Gemma Collins left ‘heartbroken’ after her dog is attacked

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins was left “heartbroken” and “distressed” after her dog Blu was attacked by another pooch at her house.
The former ‘TOWIE’ star, 43, was left stunned after a canine entered her property and bit her beloved four-legged friend on the leg.
Luckily, former ‘X Factor’ stars Jedward were on hand to help Gemma rush Blu to the emergency vet, where the hound received treatment for his injury.
Taking to Instagram, she posted a video of her mutt limping towards the examination table at the vet, and added the caption: “I’ve had the most heart breaking upset this weekend a dog entered my property and bit my blue.
“I want to thank the emergency vets and @jepicpics for helping me whilst I was so distressed (sic).”
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star then asked her followers what action she needed to take to ensure a similar situation wouldn’t happen again, adding she was in “complete shock”.
She continued: “Can anyone advise if a dog enters your property and bites your dog what course of action is needed. As you can imagine I’m in complete shock, thank god for my cameras on the property as I caught the owners (sic).”
Gemma went on to heap praise on Jedward for helping her through this “traumatic time”.
She gushed: “John and Edward was amazing. Thank you @jepicpics I’m so happy your blues dog fathers for all your help and love in this traumatic time (sic).”
Jedward took to the comment section to share their love for the mutt, and admitted it was “a real shock” he had been attacked.
They penned: “Blu is so full of love when meeting every dog and brings so much joy wherever he goes. It was a real shock when this happened to lil Blu and even after he still had love to give. (sic)”

Mel B and daughter Phoenix Chi ‘sign up for Celebrity Gogglebox’

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B and her daughter Phoenix Chi have signed up for the upcoming series of ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’.
The Spice Girls singer, 48 – who has 25-year-old Phoenix with her ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, 48 – is set to sit down with her daughter for the beloved Channel 4 programme, in which stars reflect on the week’s TV from the comfort of their own living room.
An industry insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s so exciting to have Scary Spice and Phoenix on the sofa together, they’re going to be fantastic.”
The duo are expected to be joined by former ‘Celebrity Juice’ team captain Fearne Cotton, former ‘X Factor’ star Rylan Clark, TV chef Gok Wan, broadcaster Gyles Brandreth, and BBC Sport presenter Clare Balding for the sixth series of the show, which is set to return to screens on 7 June.
As well as ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’, Mel B is said to have signed up for Netflix’s forthcoming show ‘Bear Hunt’, in which a group of stars attempt to survive the Costa Rican jungle, while adventurer Bear Grylls stalks them, looking to pounce on his prey.
A source previously told The Sun newspaper: “[Mel] flew to Costa Rica at the weekend to join the ambitious reality series.”
The singer is set to appear alongside the likes of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Shirley Ballas, former pro rugby player Danny Cipriani, model Lottie Moss, ex-tennis player Boris Becker, ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch’ host Steph McGovern and ‘The Inbetweeners’ actor Joe Thomas.
According to the outlet, the celebrities have flown out to Costa Rica to film the show, which will be hosted by ex-‘This Morning’ presenter Holly Willoughby.
A separate source told The Sun newspaper: “Signing up Steph and Joe have made this one of the most diverse and unusual celebrity line up ever seen on a show like this.
“The dozen celebrities come from incredibly different backgrounds – whether it’s ballroom dancing, singing, sport or interior design. They’ll each bring something to the mix.
“None of the choices are obvious – particularly not Steph and Joe, neither of whom have been on our screens in some time.”

‘I think anything could be brilliant’: Joe Alwyn is up for starring in various types of movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Alwyn admits there is little “rhyme or reason” behind his film choices.
The 33-year-old actor has a part in Yorgos Lanthimos’ absurdist new movie ‘Kinds of Kindness’ and explained that he pursues projects that allow him to work with “interesting people” rather than big franchise roles.
Speaking to IndieWire at the Cannes Film Festival, Joe said: “I think I’ve just tried to chase down people so far that I really just admire as directors and a handful of those have happened to be (behind) not always independent films, but not big studio Marvel or anything.
“I think anything could be brilliant. It’s just about the group of people that make it… There’s not a ton of rhyme or reason in terms of what I’m going after. I’m just trying to find interesting people to work with.”
The ‘Conversations with Friends’ star continued: “And even in a supporting capacity, like ‘Kinds of Kindness’, you get so much from working with someone like Yorgos.
“It’s fun to spend time with him and be a part of someone who’s so wildly creative and so singular in what he does in the films he makes. They’re not so cookie-cutter shape. That excites me.”
Joe reunites with Yorgos on the new picture after the pair worked together on ‘The Favourite’ and loves the sense of playfulness that the filmmaker gives to his actors.
He said: “There are times you get stuck or have felt that you get things right or you get things wrong.
“Particularly with Yorgos, he’s a director who feels like you’re going to go and play. Thinking about acting, and why I liked it in the first place, was just because you got to muck around and play and sometimes that feeling disappears or is hard to hold onto, and nerves or anxiety or the whole industry dampens that sometimes.
“But (with) Yorgos, you just feel like you’re getting into a sandpit. It’s just fun.”

Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning ‘fiercely protective’ of co-star Richard Gadd

OHMYGOSSIP — Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning is “fiercely protective” of her co-star Richard Gadd.
The ‘Outlaws’ actress appears as stalker Martha in the Netflix series, in which struggling comedian and barman Donny is stalked, which reflects Richard’s own real-life ordeal, in which a woman allegedly stalked the comedian.
Since the seven-part series aired, Scottish lawyer Fiona Harvey has come forward as the “real-life Martha”, and threatened legal action against Netflix.
But Jessica insists anyone searching for the real-life identities of the show’s characters “almost undermines” his experiences.
She told Radio Times magazine: “I think he was incredibly brave to bare all. He really did put everything in that show, warts and all, errors, mistakes that were made.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it.
“I’m always fiercely protective of him and I want to make sure that none of this is upsetting for him, really, so I try and keep out of any of that stuff.
“Me and Richard have this close connection and I’m very concerned about anything that might upset him.
“He’s a survivor of sexual assault, and he was stalked, and I think that any search for real people almost undermines that slightly.”
‘Trollied’ star Jessica played Martha as a “character” rather than a real person, and insisted Richard is “playing a character as well”, because the show isn’t a documentary.
Asked if she ever found it problematic that Richard based Martha on a real person, she added: “I wouldn’t use the word problematic, I would say, maybe, sensitive.
“I absolutely saw Martha as a character, I wasn’t doing an impersonation of a real person. She was very clear to me in the script, but I genuinely didn’t know anything about the real person.
“But Richard is playing a character as well. When I was acting with him, I felt like he was a character. I didn’t feel like we were re-enacting scenes for some documentary, it felt like we were doing interpretations of these characters in this emotionally true world.”

Louise Thompson won’t be ‘mentally strong enough’ to carry another child after near-death experience

OHMYGOSSIP — Louise Thompson will “never be mentally strong enough” to carry another child, following the traumatic birth of her two-year-old son Leo.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star has told how she watched herself almost “bleed to death” while she underwent an emergency C-section in November 2021, and she believes being awake during the operation “definitely contributed” to the development of PTSD.
Louise has now told how she won’t ever fall pregnant naturally again, but it is possible she could freeze some eggs one day.
Asked if she will ever be able to have kids again, she said on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’: “It’s still fairly inconclusive. I will never mentally be strong enough to carry a child and physically I have something called Asherman syndrome, where my uterus is glued together with scar tissue.
“I suppose in one sense it’s a bit of a miracle that I didn’t have to have a hysterectomy, so I do still have a womb.
“I had a year with no periods, then I had a surgery to try and fix that and then that ended up in another haemorrhage, so where I am left currently is that the hospital have sort of said, ‘It would be too threatening. We wouldn’t want to do another surgery in that area. Let’s let you live.’
“Equally, I am so grateful to have one beautiful, healthy child who has lots of friends and cousins.
“I do have ovaries and embryos so there is a chance I could freeze some eggs … when I am ready.”
Louise admitted the traumatic events also affected her relationship with fiance Ryan Libbey.
The star admitted they had “no relationship” in the early days of her recovery, because the pair were still “so traumatised” from dealing with their “own version of PTSD”.
Speaking about the effect that the trauma had on her partner, she said: “I think throughout the recovery, especially in the early days, we had no relationship.
“We were both so traumatised dealing with our own version of PTSD. He is still not in a place where he feels ready to start proper therapy yet.
“When I finally did come home after spending nearly a month in hospital, he would lie awake all night checking on me, all night worried I was going to die. He would have flashbacks too.
“He maybe had more typical PTSD symptoms, like a lot of avoidance symptoms.
“He never wanted to talk about anything and he would get really angry whenever he drove past the hospital and he couldn’t go in.
“He’s now had to take Leo for one appointment and that was very brave of him to break that cycle.
“The impacts of trauma have really been like a tidal wave. They rip their way through every aspect of your life.
But Louise – who had a stoma bag, which she calls Winnie, fitted last month due to an ongoing “very serious medical condition” – admitted she is “95 per cent” back to her old self now.
She added: “I am doing really well now. I’m 95 per cent back to the old me.
“I feel so good. This is the best I have felt in two and a half, three years and even pre-pregnancy. I feel really well,
“[But] I will still have to live with having PTSD for my whole life. It’s not just something you can get rid of.”

Taxman, you are the Weakest Link! TV presenter Anne Robinson ‘gives away’ her fortune

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Robinson has “given away” her fortune – because she doesn’t want “the taxman to have it”.
The former ‘Weakest Link’ presenter, 79, is estimated to be worth around £50 million, and she has chosen to give most of her wealth to her family – including her 43-year-old daughter Emma Wilson and her two grandchildren Hudson, 14, and Parker, 13 – to avoid a large chunk of her earnings being swallowed up by inheritance tax.
During an interview with Saga magazine, she said: “I’ve given it all away. I don’t want the taxman to have it. I’ve spread it about quite a lot, to the children. They may as well enjoy it now.”
Anne added she has “genuinely no idea” if her net worth is £50 million, but emphasised she doesn’t really care for money, and instead prioritises her “good health and the family happiness”.
She explained: “I have genuinely no idea. I don’t want for much.
“I can’t think there’s anything I really want except my good health and the family happiness.”
Recently, the ‘Countdown’ host revealed she has started dating Queen Camilla’s ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles after the pair met during a lunch through a mutual friend over a year ago.
Anne admitted she had taken a “long time” to get romantically involved with anyone following her divorce from her second husband, John Penrose, in 2007.
She said: “I’d been out of the game for so long. And also I don’t drink. If you don’t drink you’re not as reckless are you? I’ve only just thought of that, but I think it’s probably true.”
The TV star felt it was “worth the risk” getting back onto the dating scene.
She said: “I’d say, like everything else I’ve done, it’s always worth the risk. I’m a great believer in surprising yourself by taking risks. Personally and professionally.
“Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If the worst that can happen is you get some egg on your face, that’s not terrible is it?”

Top Gear stars Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris sign up for new BBC show

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris have signed up to front new show ‘Paddy and Chris: Road Trippin’.
The TV stars had worked together on ‘Top Gear’ from 2018 until the show came to an abrupt halt four years later, after their co-presenter Freddie Flintoff was involved in a near-fatal crash during filming.
Now, the petrol-heads have reunited for the upcoming BBC programme.
Paddy said: “I’m very much looking forward to getting back on the road with Chris Harris.
“Not so much looking forward to sharing a confined space with him. He doesn’t believe in deodorant. On the plus side he’ll give me something to laugh at along the way. Bring it on!”
The show will see the duo embark on a tour of Europe – where they will travel to the likes of Sweden, Greece and Switzerland – to “look at how our European neighbours grow old gracefully and make their years ahead their best yet”.
Chris emphasised he was excited to begin working on the programme, admitting the trip should be a “real eye-opener” for them.
He said: “Paddy’s idea of long-haul travel is driving from Bolton to Blackpool, so this European road-trip should be a real eye-opener for both of us.
“When we’re finished debating the merits of literally everything we encounter, viewers will hopefully take something rewarding away from our deep-dive into the secrets of human longevity – but I’m just hoping my interest in the subject doesn’t dwindle as each mile goes by in Paddy’s company!”
The series will consist of three one-hour episodes, and is set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
BBC Studios Creative Director Factual Entertainment Kat Lennox teased viewers what was in store, promising “more of an insight” into Paddy and Chris’ friendship.
She said: “Paddy and Chris’ on screen chemistry has always been a favourite amongst audiences and we’re so excited to be bringing more of an insight into their friendship through this adventure of a lifetime. With plenty of bants along the way, of course, it’s certainly going to be entertaining!”

Dame Prue Leith and husband cause chaos on Harley-Davidson trips

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Prue Leith and her husband find it “hilarious” to set off people’s car alarms.
The 84-year-old chef and her spouse John Playfair enjoy embarking on pub crawls on his Harley-Davidson Tri Glider bike, and the ‘Great British Bake Off’ star admitted her spouse has found the perfect pitch to cause mischief with the vehicle’s engine.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “He thinks it’s hilarious and everybody panics. John is well known in the area. He’s very gregarious. Everybody knows him – and that he’s quite childish sometimes..
“He realised that if he revs the motorbike at a certain pitch, it sets off everybody’s car alarms.
” When I first rode on the back of it, I was really, indignant because I said: ‘You know, this is noise pollution. This is unfair. You can’t go driving through villages disturbing people with this horrible thing.’ ”
But John, 78, told her people “love” the noise, and she added: “They do. There is something about a Harley that people just love the sound of it. It’s safe to sit on because you can’t turn over, so you don’t have to wear a hat. It’s like a Reliant Robin tricycle, and we go whizzing around the country.
“It’s got a lovely leather seat, it’s so lovely and comfortable, you can smell the newly mown grass as you go through. We pub crawl – I do the drinking, and he does the driving.”
The ‘Cotswolds Kitchen’ star used to be a keen gardener but admitted she is now too “ancient” to be as hands-on as she used to.
She said: “I love cooking and gardening, but as now I’m such an ancient old lady, I don’t really like kneeling and bending over. I remember just being really proud of myself when I was laying paving with stone slabs. I had a wheelbarrow full of stone slabs, and I could wheel this thing and then lift up the slabs. I spent the whole day doing it.
“I don’t think I could even lift the wheelbarrow, you know? I couldn’t do it anymore. John does the heavy work and I do the pretend gardening, like Marie Antoinette – I plant troughs.”

Love Island’s Chris Taylor leads ‘confirmed’ singletons for new series of Celebs Go Dating

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Chris Taylor, former ‘Coronation Street’ star Helen Flanagan and Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb are among the stars set for ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
The famous faces, also including ‘Married At First Sight UK’ star Ella Morgan, ‘Superstar’ singer Jamelia, and ‘Made In Chelsea’s Tristan Phipps, according to The Sun, are set to be “put through their paces” like ever before when season 13 hits screens.
Rebecca Kenny-Smith from Lime Pictures said: “We are thrilled to announce another series commission of Celebs Go Dating with Channel 4. The success of CGD as a brand is not to be ignored, and for us to see such huge success in such a competitive market is great testament to the brand and its loyal fans…
“Series 13 is going to be the biggest test yet for the celebs, as we set out to ramp up the dates by putting celebrities through their paces as they get closer to finding love.”
Channel 4’s Genna Gibson said: “Celebs Go Dating is an absolute streaming favourite amongst our young audiences and I’m so looking forward to them seeing a whole bunch of new lovelorn celebs getting struck into the world of dating in true Celebs Go Dating style. Our 13th series is set to be a one not to miss!”
Last month, Stephen and his fellow hairdresser husband Daniel Lustig-Webb – who quit the Channel 4 reality series as a couple in 2023 – shocked fans when they announced they are getting a divorce after they had “grown apart”.
Stephen has had a rough time of it after suffering a nasty injury during training for ‘Dancing On Ice’, which forced him quit the ITV show, and feels ready to get back on the telly box and potentially meet a new love interest on the E4 series.
A source told The Sun: “Stephen is set to sign up for Celebs Go Dating after successful advanced talks with E4 producers.
“Bosses were really keen to get him as soon as they heard he and Stephen had split as they know viewers will invest in his path to finding love again, and he’s already a big favourite with Channel 4 viewers after years on Gogglebox.
“Stephen is also really keen to have some fun again after a difficult few months, and he’s also raring to get back on TV after having to step down from Dancing on Ice due to injury.
“He was gutted when that fell through, but he feels excited to take on a new project.
“He is realistic that he may not find Mr Right, but he is up for a laugh on the dating scene.”

Adam Wingard not returning for third Godzilla x Kong film

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Wingard won’t be returning for a third ‘Godzilla x Kong’ movie.
The 41-year-old filmmaker recently directed ‘Godzilla x Kong: New Empire’ from his own script, and though it has grossed over $564 million worldwide since its release in late March and is set to become the highest-grossing of the five monsterverse films, he’s reportedly parted ways with the franchise.
Sources told The Hollywood reporter Adam’s departure from the series is amicable and is a result of timing issue, but the door remains open for him to return in the future.
Adam – who also directed 2021’s ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ – is preparing to shoot action thriller ‘Onslaught’ in the autumn, which didn’t fit into Legendary’s plans to move quickly onto their next film featuring Godzilla and Kong.
They recently hired ‘Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ writer Dave Callaham to pen a script, sparking speculation about Adam’s future with the franchise.
Despite his departure, the ‘Death Note’ filmmaker previously admitted he has “more story to tell” in the monsterverse.
He told Discussing Film: “The whole idea that if you’ve done two movies, like, maybe you should just go ahead and do a third because, as you said, there’s a trilogy in there.
“It just depends on how [‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’] does and how things kind of shape out.
“I do have more story to tell with these monsters, and I know where I’d go with it. I would be very excited to be able to come back on for another one if things worked out!”
Adam’s priority in ‘The New Empire’ was the two titular beasts, so he deliberately opted for a small human cast.
He previously told The Hollywood Reporter: “In the development phase, my motto was, ‘Simplicity is key.’ And so I knew that if we created a smaller cast, we could create a more intimate story.
“We can still spend time with [the human characters], and at the same time, we can spend more time with the monsters and not shortchange one or the other.”

Mark Ruffalo in talks to star opposite fellow Avenger Chris Hemsworth in Crime 101

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Ruffalo could be set to star alongside Chris Hemsworth in an adaptation of Don Winslow’s ‘Crime 101′.
The ‘Avengers’ stars – who play Hulk and Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – are both in talks for the Amazon MGM Studios feature, which is based on the short story.
Deadline reports that Hemsworth is also in talks to produce with his partner Ben Grayson.
The blurb for the tale read: “High-level jewel thefts are taking place up and down the Pacific Coast and police have linked them to the Colombian cartels. Detective Lou Lubesnick has other ideas, and he zeroes in on one perp, a thief looking for a final score.”
A full plot is yet to be disclosed.
Bart Layton is directing and has been overseeing the script with the help of Peter Straughan.
Pedro Pascal had originally been circling the project and was in talks to star alongside Hemsworth but talks with ‘The Mandalorian’ seemingly ended.
The flick is slated for release in 2025.
Meanwhile, Ruffalo recently insisted he doesn’t think a standalone Hulk movie will ever happen, because it will be too “expensive” to make.
He has portrayed Bruce Banner/ Hulk in several Marvel motion pictures since making his 2012 debut as the character in ‘The Avengers’, and while he wants to make a solo Hulk film, he thinks such a project will be too pricey due to the CGI costs.
He told GQ magazine: “I’d love to do a standalone ‘Hulk’, I just don’t think that’s ever going to happen.
“It’s very expensive if you did a whole movie, which is why they use the Hulk so sparingly. I priced myself out!”
Ruffalo admitted Marvel’s streaming expansion – which has seen the company release several Disney+ series – was “really exciting”, but he “doesn’t know” if the MCU will ever be “what it was”.
Speaking about a Marvel post-Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America, he said: “I think the expansion into streaming was really exciting, but the thing about Marvel movies is you had to wait three years and that created a mystique.
“These corrections could be really positive things. Will it be what it was? I don’t know.”
In 2020, Ruffalo admitted he had an idea for a standalone Hulk movie that could be “really interesting”.
He told Variety at the time: “There’s an idea that I think could be really interesting.
“We’ve never really followed him into his life. He’s always kind of off on the side. He’s like the Rosencrantz and Guildenstern of the ‘Avengers’.
“It’d be interesting to fill in all the blanks about what happened to him in between all these movies.”

Clive Myrie tried ballet in Cuba for new TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Clive Myrie had a go at ballet while he was filming for his new TV show in Cuba.
The 59-year-old broadcaster is gearing up to the release of his upcoming BBC programme ‘Clive Myrie’s Caribbean Adventure’ – in which he explores islands in Jamaica, Barbados, the Dominican Republic and Cuba – and has now revealed he was taken out of his comfort zone when he tried classical dancing.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: “I was with a bunch of young ballet dancers in Cuba and they said, ‘Do you want to try?’ So I did! I put on ballet tights and did some moves, it was fun.
“It harks back to Fidel Castro’s idea that culture wasn’t just for the elite, it was for everybody.”
The ‘BBC News at Ten’ presenter has teased his favourite moments from the show, including riding on the back of Ernesto Guevara’s (son of former Minister of Industries for Cuba, Che Guevara) motorbike, and swimming with racehorses in Barbados.
He told the BBC: “There were so many standout moments but I will never forget being on the back of Ernesto Guevara’s motorbike, taking me through the old parts of Havana and seeing these amazing buildings that are crumbling. Seeing his dad’s big picture in Revolution Square was a definite highlight and one that I imagine is quite surreal for him, seeing pictures of his dad all over the world.
“Swimming with racehorses in Barbados was also a definite highlight. Hydrotherapy is proven to be good for the animals, it calms them down, helps them if they’re injured and the beach is only 600 yards from the stables.
“Being able to swim with them was an amazing experience and something I’ll always remember.”
Clive – whose parents were born in Jamaica and are part of the ‘Windrush’ generation that came to the UK in the 1960’s – explained he wanted viewers to learn about the “history of the Caribbean through [his] family’s eyes”.
He said: “This series was very much about trying to tell a little bit of the history of the Caribbean through my family’s eyes and the connection it has to me.
“I’ll be unearthing my ancestral roots and reconnecting with family members I didn’t even know I had! I’ll be taking in the vibrant streets of Cuba, the nightlife of Jamaica, the lush landscapes of the Dominican Republic and the beach paradise of Barbados.”

Gavin and Stacey’s Pam must go vegan for series finale, urges PETA

OHMYGOSSIP — PETA has urged ‘Gavin and Stacey’ writers James Corden and Ruth Jones to make Pam a vegan for the series finale.
The beloved BBC sitcom is set to make a return this year for one last festive episode, and will see 77-year-old Alison Steadman reprise her role as Pamela Shipman, who has a history of pretending to go meat-free in an effort to avoid being known as ‘Three Steaks Pam’.
Now, the organisation – which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals – has called on the writers to ensure the character properly makes the switch to a plant-based diet for her final outing, insisting the choice would end the series on a “wonderful note”.
In an open letter to James, 45, and Ruth, 57, PETA’s Vice President of Programmes Elisa Allen wrote: “Before her brief ‘vegetarian’ stint, Pam worried she’d be known as ‘Three Steaks Pam’, and we understand why she’d be embarrassed by that moniker.
“Raising and killing for animals for food is cruel.
“Conversely, by adopting the nickname, ‘Three Tofu Blocks Pam’, the character would be a champion for animals and the planet -ditching animal-derived foods spares the lives of nearly 200 living, feeling beings every year while lowering individual carbon footprints by as much as 75 per cent.
“She’d also be at [a] decreased risk of suffering from stroke, heart disease, some cancers, diabetes and other ailments. Plus, vegans are, on average, up to nine kilograms lighter than adult meat-eaters an aspect we know would align well with Pam’s priorities.”
The organisation insisted Pam would still be able to tuck into a “well lush” meal over the festive season.
Elisa continued: “By making Pam vegan for the finale, you’ll ensure that – whether or not she gets ‘drunk, drunk’ this Christmas – she’ll enjoy a ‘well lush’ spread while sparing clever pigs, curious turkey and industrious fish suffering.
“This act of compassion promoting a better tomorrow for everyone would be a wonderful note on which to end such a beloved series”.
After the announcement for the finale, Alison said she was excited to return as Pam for one final outing, though admitted getting the cast together – which includes Mathew Horne, Joanna Page, Larry Lamb and Rob Brydon – could be “very difficult” due to their busy schedules.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “They are extremely busy people. Finding the time to put another show together is very difficult.
“These things take months and months. You develop it,
you change it, and then you have another idea and so on. It’s quite a long process. And then you’ve got to get the actors free.”

Kate Garraway is ‘only at the beginning of grief’ after Derek Draper’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Garraway has admitted she is “only at the beginning of grief” after her husband’s death.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ star is trying to focus on her children Darcey, 18, and Billy, 14, after her partner and their father Derek Draper died in January aged 56 following a four year health battle after contracting COVID-19 in 2020.
Speaking at the Prince’s Trust Awards this week, she told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m only at the beginning of grief really.
“I’m just three months in so there are many ups and downs to come.
“At the moment it’s about focusing on the youngsters, Billy and Darcy and focusing on doing things like this when I can that I haven’t been able to do.”
The 57-year-old presenter explained that her focus is on “keeping busy”, although she knows at some point she’ll need to “stop and deal with” her grief.
She added: “At the moment it’s all about keeping busy. I’m sure there will be a moment where I have to stop and deal with it.
“But at the moment I’m just keeping busy. Help is there. You just have to ask for it. And sometimes you have to ask for it time and time again.
“And hopefully, organisations like the Prince’s Trust which is particularly good at identifying people, will be there to scoop you up.”
Meanwhile, having the support of her loved ones, ‘GMB’ colleagues and friends has been a great help to her as she tries to figure out how to keep going after such heartbreak.
She said: “Community is everything, whether it’s friends or colleagues, or your neighbours down your street. It keeps us going. It’s the structure that carries us through life.”
Earlier this month, Kate admitted she had woken up feeling “sad” on her first birthday since Derek’s death.
On May 6, she wrote on Intagram: “Well yesterday was another one of those sad 1st’s – my first birthday since Derek’s passing.
“Woke up feeling so sad and thought well I can either cry all day or celebrate life as he did so well.
“And thanks to wonderful friends it worked! (sic)”

Glen Powell starring in a new take on Heaven Can Wait

OHMYGOSSIP — Glen Powell is to star in a reimagining of ‘Heaven Can Wait’.
The 35-year-old actor has been cast in a new take on the 1978 movie with Oscar-winning screenwriter Stephen Gaghan penning the project.
Based on Harry Segall’s 1930s stage play, the original movie starred Warren Beatty as an NFL quarterback who dies prematurely after mistakenly being taken to heaven by his guardian angel before returning to Earth in the body of a recently murdered millionaire.
Beatty directed the film alongside Buck Henry and it was nominated for nine Academy Awards – including for Best Picture.
Segall’s play has also been adapted for the big screen in the 1941 picture ‘Here Comes Mr. Jordan’, in which the main character was a boxer, and then again in the 2001 comedy ‘Down to Earth’ that centred on a comedian played by Chris Rock.
Glen’s version is not thought to be a remake as it won’t focus on an NFL player but will feature the same concept of a man taken before his time.
Powell successfully teamed up with Sydney Sweeney on the hit romantic comedy ‘Anyone But You’ and revealed earlier this year that the pair want to keep the partnership going by working on another movie together.
The ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ star told Variety: “When you find somebody that you really jive with, Sydney is so easy to work with and so fun. We’re definitely trying to find the next thing. Please send us all the scripts you got. It’s been really wonderful to read a lot.
“Sydney reads everything, by the way, and in record time. She’s the fastest reader I think I’ve ever met. It takes me a little longer, but we’re reading everything and just trying to see what makes sense, what we can turn into something that audiences are going to respond to.”

Rylan Clark ‘traumatised’ by joke act portrayal on The X Factor

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark was left traumatised by his portrayal on ‘The X Factor’.
The 35-year-old presenter – who has gone onto become a huge star on TV and radio – rose to fame on the ITV talent show in 2012, and being seen as the “joke act” means even now, he “hates being made to sing”.
In scenes filmed for the upcoming final episode of BBC Two’s ‘Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour’, he said: “Every week I was thrown into the lion’s den doing stuff that I didn’t know.
“It’s like an internal thing now. Once you’ve been through that, when someone goes, ‘Go on, just do it’, it makes me go, ‘I can’t, I can’t just go and do it’.
“I feel like I’ve worked so hard to move away from that ‘f****** idiot’ that I was perceived as, that character who couldn’t sing.
“That could f*** someone up majorly.”
In this Sunday’s (26.05.24) episode of ‘Grand Tour’, his co-star Rob Rinder arranges for him to sing as part of an opera concerto in Rome, but the experience brought back bad memories from his run on ‘The X Factor’.
He explained: “My job on ‘X Factor’ wasn’t to be the singer, so I played that role. My job was to be the joke act, the one everyone would speak about and be on the front page of the paper every day.”
However, his road trip show with friend Rob has given him more self-confidence along with the realisation that he’s “more” than just a punchline on the singing competition.
He added: “If I’ve learned anything on this ‘Grand Tour’, it is that there’s more to me than that.
“I’m not thick, I’ve got more to give than just being that idiot on the telly with the shiny teeth.”
