Abbie Quinnen ‘set to enter the Love Island villa’

OHMYGOSSIP — Abbie Quinnen is reportedly set to enter the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The 27-year-old dancer – who is the ex-girlfriend of AJ Pritchard – has been lined up by TV bosses to join the hit show.
The source told The Sun newspaper: “Abbie has become well-known in her own right and after her break-up with AJ she fancied a fresh chance at love.”
Abbie is poised to follow in the footsteps of reality TV star Joey Essex, who recently entered the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The insider continued: “Joey went in as the first big bombshell and Abbie is waiting in the wings for the call up.
“She has been in talks with ‘Love Island’ for weeks over being a bombshell and has said she can’t wait to dive in and mix things up.
“When she was with AJ, she found out a lot about ‘Love Island’ through Curtis [Pritchard, AJ’s brother and a former Islander] so she knows what is in store for her.”
Meanwhile, a source recently insisted that Joey “won’t be given any preferential treatment” on ‘Love Island’.
The reality star won’t be treated any differently to the other Islanders, despite his fame and success.
The source told MailOnline: “He hasn’t been paid an appearance fee or any money at all for signing up to the show, not a penny.
“On ‘Love Island’, it is all about the exposure and for Joey, it means more than that too … He’s looking for someone to settle down with, so it’s not about the money he can make on the other side.”
Joey is ultimately keen to show his “true self” to the British public.
The insider added: “Not many people know the real Joey, over the years he’s hidden behind his reality TV persona but being on ‘Love Island’ will give him the opportunity to show his true self.
“He doesn’t need fame, followers, or the prize money … He’s excited to meet someone and can’t wait to start dating.”

The 37-year-old actor has given a major update on plans for a sequel to Will Smith’s hit 2007 blockbuster, and it’s still “in the works” after first being announced as in development over two years ago.
Jordan – who is set to star in the movie with Smith – told People magazine: “We’re still working on the script and getting that up to par.
“It doesn’t have a release date or anything like that. I’m not sure exactly where we’re going to be filming that one, but I’m really excited to get in front of the camera with him.
“Being somebody that I’ve looked up to for a really long time, to be able to work with Will is something I’m really looking forward to. I’m really excited.”
In the first ‘I Am Legend’ film Smith, now 55, plays scientist Robert Neville as the sole survivor in New York City, in a world where a disease turns humans into zombie-like creatures.
Francis Lawrence directed the movie, which was adapted from Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel of the same name.
Last month, Smith gave his own update on the sequel, and noted he and Jordan were still working together on making sure it hits the right notes.
He told Entertainment Tonight: “We had a couple weeks together about a month ago. I think it’s looking good.
“[We have some] really solid ideas… I think we’re going to make it on screen together. That dude is the truth, so I would love to do that.”
Smith is keen to make sure a sequel can “stand on its own right”, which set as his standard for ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ as he returned to the franchise with Martin Lawrence.
He added: “I told myself [what] I would never do to the fans is make a sequel just because it would be cool to have a sequel.
“This one lives up to my standards.”

James May ‘scraps cooking show’ for unexpected reason

OHMYGOSSIP — James May has reportedly been forced to scrap his cooking show because he’s become too skilled in the kitchen.
The former ‘Top Gear’ star has presented two series of ‘Oh Cook!’ for Amazon Prime Video as he embarked on his own culinary journey, but as his talents have grown, it’s said he feels the programme has jumped the shark and gone beyond the original joke.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “The whole idea behind the show was James being a clueless cook and learning on the job.
“It was a totally fresh concept that viewers lapped up, as usually cooking series are presented by professional chefs.
“But after two seasons, James is now quite a good cook, so it’s not a gag he can continue to flog.”
The show first aired in 2020, with the name inspired by his sweary catchphrase from ‘Top Gear’.
In each episode, James was taught the basics for making a certain meal or kind of cuisine, ranging from curries to a roast dinner.
The second series aired in May 2023 and saw him take things further, while he even went on to release his own cookery book.
Meanwhile, the 61-year-old star recently ruled out the idea of working with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond again, bringing an end to their 21-year TV partnership with the conclusion of ‘The Grand Tour’.
He told UniLad: “I think people would only really like us doing cars, despite what some people say – ‘Oh, I think you should all go off and do cooking or you should all go and do a podcast about nothing.’
“But I don’t think so, I think we should let it lie, what we did.”
This comes after Clarkson revealed he and his ‘The Grand Tour’ co-stars would be leaving the programme because he had run out of ideas for future instalments of the series.
During an interview with The Times newspaper, he said: “I’ve driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else. We’ve done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air.”

Holly Hagan’s ‘consistency’ has led to weight-loss success

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Hagan believes “ten months of consistency” has led to her recent weight loss.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star – who gave birth to her son Alpha in June 2023 – has admitted that it’s taken time and patience in order to regain her pre-pregnancy figure.
Alongside a photo showing off her impressive weight-loss results, Holly wrote on her @thefittyapp Instagram page: “1 year apart – 10 months of consistency, 40lb difference. This journey takes time. Especially post partum.
“We have to take it slow and build up that strength safely. 20 minutes was all I could do so that’s all I did.
“I started with our beginner programmes which I planned for myself to ease back in and I prioritised my daily walk. I made sure my calories reflected my activity level. (sic)”
Holly, 31, has urged her followers to “be patient” during their own weight-loss journeys.
The TV star said: “It’s hard to be patient when the scales stay the same for 4 weeks, even though you know you’re doing everything right.
“It makes you want to throw the towel in, but you have to think with logic and not emotion. WE DO NOT DEFY SCIENCE. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Holly previously admitted to being hurt by online comments about her post-pregnancy figure.
She said on Instagram in April: “I knew exactly what I was capable of and would get to where I wanted to be I just needed some patience and consistency.
“I’d love to say I didn’t let the comments about my postpartum body get to me, but after a video went viral with thousands of people telling me how awful and abnormal I looked, it was really hard to show up and do my job.”

In an interview with Screen Rant, he said: “Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’d be a no-brainer. I feel like I was so fortunate to get to step into that world, and I really love everyone involved: Francis Lawrence, Nina Jacobson and Suzanne Collins.
“But it would be really cool to keep digging into that story, and I do think that fans feel this too. I think they were very excited to reignite the world, and I think people feel like within that reigniting, there’s more to do. There are more stories to delve into.
“I do think there’s more to Coriolanus’ story to delve into, whether he’s the lead character or whether he’s a periphery character and we look at someone else’s story. But I think it’d be fascinating to see his continued rise to power and what happens along the way.”

Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan set for leading roles in Sir Sam Mendes’ Beatles movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan are set to star in Sir Sam Mendes’ Beatles films.
The 58-year-old director announced earlier this year that he would be directing four separate films about the legendary band and has now reportedly cast the leading quartet.
According to The InSneider, Harris Dickinson is to star as John Lennon, Mescal will play Paul McCartney, Keoghan is to portray Ringo Starr and Charlie Rowe will take on the part of George Harrison.
The films are set to be interconnected stories with one from each band member’s perspective.
It marks the first time ever that The Beatles and their Apple Corps. company have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film.

It has not yet been revealed if all four films will be released at the same time or whether they will be staggered across the year but Sony has promised an “innovative release cadence”.
Mendes explained that he pitched the idea of making four films about the ‘Hey Jude’ group last year and wowed Sony executives Tom Rothman and Elizabeth Gabler with his plans.
The ‘Skyfall’ filmmaker told Deadline earlier this year: “We went out to Los Angeles just before Christmas to pitch the project, and it’s fair to say we were met with universal enthusiasm.
“The reason Sony stood out from competing offers was down to Tom and Elizabeth’s passion for the idea, and commitment to propelling these films theatrically in an innovative and exciting way.”

“Before I go off on baby leave, I do want to share one thing with everyone because I’ve decided that ‘Capital Breakfast’, it doesn’t have listeners, we are a family and I have told my nearest and dearest what me and my partner Jake are having.
“And I know you are all invested. So I’m going to tell you what I’m having … it’s a girl!”

“I don’t know how I’ve managed to keep it from you for so long. It’s not a joke, it’s not a joke! The stress I’ve gone through trying to pretend not to be drinking. The lies, the deceit, the mocktails! I couldn’t wait to tell you.
“This is a whole new journey for me and I want to take you all on it with me, and don’t worry I’m not going anywhere!
“This is going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to share it with you all.”

Fearne Cotton ‘loved every minute’ of writing her fiction novel

OHMYGOSSIP — Fearne Cotton has been on a “steep learning curve” as a writer.
The 42-year-old TV star has written a fiction novel called ‘Scripted’ and although she’s loved the challenge, Fearne admitted that it hasn’t always been easy.
The presenter – whose novel centres on a character called Jade Shaw – told FAULT Magazine: “I wasn’t necessarily fixated on writing a novel; I was in a good groove writing non-fiction then, one day I was out running on the same route Jade takes at the beginning of the book. I was looking around at all the trash and this weird thought popped into my head: what if I found a script of my life on the floor? I don’t know why exactly, but it wouldn’t leave me alone.
“Later that day, I told my writer friend Claire about the idea. I mentioned I thought it might be a novel, but I had no idea how to even start. She said, ‘Just start writing it tomorrow.’
“So, the next day, true to my non-procrastinating nature, I opened my laptop and began writing. It was a secret project for a long time, until I had around 40,000 words written.
“I thought I’d better get some feedback, just in case it was terrible! She loved the idea and encouraged me to keep going. I finished the book and then focused on finding a publisher.
“It was a steep learning curve, but I absolutely loved every minute of it.”
Fearne worked on the project for two years in total, and despite the challenges she’s faced, she’s actually enjoyed the experience.
She said: “The editing process probably took about a year, but I wouldn’t trade the experience. From that initial run to holding the finished book in my hands, it took about two years.”

Cat Deeley ‘is really feeling the pressure’ on This Morning

OHMYGOSSIP — Cat Deeley is “really feeling the pressure” to succeed on ‘This Morning’.
The 47-year-old TV presenter was previously hired as Holly Willoughby’s replacement, and she’s desperate to see the long-running ITV show succeed.
An insider told OK! magazine: ”Cat is really feeling the pressure at ‘This Morning’ and knows there is a lot riding on her and Ben [Shephard, her co-host] to get it right.
“She is really loving working with Ben and the partnership that they are building but she’s well aware of the critics and the falling ratings.
“She feels she and Ben haven’t been given enough time and that they are the fall guys for everything that went on at the show over the past few years.”
Cat and her husband Patrick Kielty, 53, relocated back to the UK before she landed the coveted role on ‘This Morning’.
But the presenter is said to miss the “Los Angeles lifestyle” and is wondering if they’ve made the right decision.
The source said: “She and Patrick moved back to the UK for their boys but Cat really misses the Los Angeles lifestyle and everything that comes with it.
“She still has her job on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and there is part of her that wonders whether they made a mistake coming back to the UK.
“The lack of sunshine is hard, as well as the laid-back way of life, plus they could be quite anonymous over there.”
By contrast, Cat previously admitted to fearing for the safety of her children in the US.
The TV presenter recalled one incident when Patrick and her son were caught up in an attack at a shopping mall.
Cat – who has Milo, eight, and James, six, with her husband – told You magazine in 2020: “I got a call from Paddy, saying, ‘They’re taking us out through the fire exits but nobody can get to their car. If we walk to a junction, can you come and get us.
“He wanted to keep Milo calm, so I didn’t understand the enormity of what was happening. As I was driving I began to see helicopters, news vans, firemen and Swat squads.”

Bridget Jones filming delayed after cast member suffers broken bone

OHMYGOSSIP — Filming on the new ‘Bridget Jones’ movie has been put on hold after a cast member suffered an injury.
Production on ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’ is facing delays after a nasty incident away from the set left a major star hospitalised with a broken bone.
The incident happened before the cast were due to shoot a garden party scene at the Petersham Nurseries restaurant in Richmond, London and it is unclear when the injured performer will be able to return to filming.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It’s a total disaster.
“This has all been so devastating for the entire cast and all the hardworking staff who were down to work.
“They’d been due to shoot some of the film’s most important scenes and then they suffered this setback after a really unfortunate accident.
“Filming for the scenes might not start again until at least July, so the schedule has taken a hit.
“They’ve got a tight window, especially with having to work around the busy diaries of A-listers. It’s a disaster.”
The movie is set to be released in February 2025 and sees Renee Zellweger’s Bridget adjusting to life as a single mother after the death of her husband Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and star Sally Phillips – who plays Bridget’s best friend Shazzer in the franchise – has told fans that the movie will be more than “just a trip down nostalgia lane”.
She told Red magazine: “The script might be the best yet – definitely not just a trip down nostalgia lane.”
Sally is grateful for her role in the films as she always enjoys working with co-stars James Callis and Shirley Henderson, who play Tom and Jude respectively.
The 54-year-old star said: “In those films, the friends always have the best time, because you’ve got people to hang out with.
“There’s a lot of night shoots, when you’re just eating chocolate ‘til four in the morning, then running past in the back of shot.
“James, Shirley and I always laugh ourselves sick. We always feel like we’re in trouble.”

Richard Linklater: Hollywood films don’t cater for adults

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Linklater has lamented the lack of adult stories in Hollywood films.
The 63-year-old director has helmed the romantic comedy thriller ‘Hit Man’ and is frustrated that cinema prioritises plots that are aimed at children and teenagers.
Richard told the BBC: “I think what’s out of fashion, people say there’s no sex in movies anymore, but there isn’t ‘adult’ in movies anymore, as sexuality in movies equals adult.
“When I was 13 years old and looking at movies, I thought the adult world looked pretty interesting, it looked fun and I thought, ‘I can’t wait to get there!’ But it wasn’t just the sex, it was the adult situations they showed.
“But somewhere along the way Hollywood inverted that. It’s like they said, ‘We’re going to make films where you can stay 13 forever, you stay that little kid with little kid concerns’, so I guess it drifted away as its complexities weren’t the subject matter of mainstream cinema as it had been before.”
Linklater explained that it was a struggle to convince studios to make ‘Hit Man’ and thinks that it typifies the risk-averse approach that is prevalent across the film industry.
The ‘School of Rock’ director said: “You don’t get fired for doing a sequel or an origin story, something that already exists.
“You don’t get into trouble for what’s obvious and commercial. What changed is that films got greenlit by the marketing department and then it’s become really safe choices.
“I think of ‘Hit Man’ as a movie to have fun with, there should always be room for some sexy couple movies, these are standards in cinema of what people want to see quite often.”

And, it was previously revealed that ‘Friends’ actress Courteney Cox – who is a close pal of UK ‘Traitors’ presenter Claudia Winkleman – could sign up to the UK celebrity version.
An insider told The Sun: “Getting Courteney on board would be a real coup.
“The fact the producers have a star from ‘Friends’ in their sights shows the kind of calibre of famous faces ‘Celebrity’ Traitors is aiming for.
“After the show was announced, producers were swamped with calls from big names and their agents wanting to throw their hat in the ring — many of them a big surprise.
“Courteney has always been a fan of the show, particularly as the British version has her mate Claudia fronting it.”
