Sue Nicholls could be about to leave Coronation Street, says expert and former writer

OHMYGOSSIP — Sue Nicholls could be about to leave ‘Coronation Street’.
The 80-year-old actress has played hairdresser Audrey Roberts on the ITV1 soap opera since 1984 and following the news that her on-screen daughter Gail Platt (Helen Worth) is to leave after more than 50 years on the show, former scriptwriter Daran Little has predicted that she will follow suit.
Daran wrote on X: “My gut feeling is Sue [Nicholls] won’t want to stay long without Helen. No insider knowledge, just a feeling.”
Daran – who started off as an archivist at Granada Studios after graduating from university and wrote for ‘Coronation Street’ from 2000 until 2010 but has penned scripts for rival ‘EastEnders’ ever since – was left “fascinated” by the social media response to the news that Helen was stepping down from her long-running role, as he compared her to fellow soap icon Julie Goodyear, who left her role as Rovers landlady Bet Lynch in 1995.
He added: “All the posts about Helen Worth leaving [are] fascinating… such an outpouring of love, it’s as if she’s died! Got me thinking that’s she’s probably the first ‘icon’ character to leave the soap since social media started the previous one, I think, was Julie Goodyear after 25 years.”
Making her announcement, she said: “This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world. I made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding.
“I have been truly blessed to have been given the most incredible scripts week in week out, and to have worked with fantastic actors, directors and a brilliant crew.
“The past 50 years have flown by and I don’t think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet.”
Helen will start filming her exit story next month and the emotional scenes will be on screen at the end of the year.
Helen was first seen on the soap as Gail Potter in July 1974 and was seven years older than her character, who was meant to be 16 years old at the time.
She was married to Brian Tinsley (Christopher Quinten) from 1979 until 1987 and had Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and Nick (Ben Price) with him.
Allthough they remarried in 1988, he was stabbed to death shortly afterwards.
She then married nurse Martin Platt (Sean Wilson) in 1991 and had David (Jack P. Shepherd) with him but that marriage ended in 2001 when she discovered he had been having an affair with her colleague Rebecca Hopkins (Jill Halfpenny) whilst she was trying to come to terms with Sarah’s teenage pregnancy.
In 2002, she married Richard Hillman (Brian Capron) but it all ended in disaster when he turned out to be a serial killer and drove Gail and her family into the canal.
Only Richard did not survive the ordeal and Gail later married Joe McIntyre (Reece Dinsdale) in 2010, but that was short-lived because he had tried to fake his own death as part of an insurance fraud but actually drowned.
Following a brief jail sentence in which she had wrongly been accused of his murder, Gail met Michael Rodwell (Les Dennis) when he burgled her home in 2014 and the pair ended up tying the knot in 2015 but he suffered a fatal heart attack just a year later.

I’m A Celeb’s Scarlette Douglas ‘never thought’ she would be single and childless at 37

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlette Douglas “never thought” she would be single and childless at the age of 37.
The ‘A Place in the Sun’ host has concentrated on her career so much but is still keen to have a family at some point, so has frozen her eggs and is preparing to have children at some point further down the line.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she told stand-in host Christine Lampard: “I never thought I’d be 37 with no man, no husband, and no baby.
“Being a career-driven woman is fantastic but I do want to have a family so I have to take my future into my own hands and prepare myself for having kids at a later date.
“I, of course, would love to have a child naturally but that might not be the case so egg-freezing is something had to be done as a backup.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ contestant only realised the magnitude of what she would be doing to preserve her eggs once she started the whole process and started to wonder why she hadn’t done anything like it sooner.
She said: “I wasn’t prepared at all, if I’m honest. I had looked into it but until you actually get there and you get given all of the medication. That moment for me was so overwhelming because I realsied I’d have to be injecting myself every day to get to a point where my eggs are healthy enough to take out.
“When you hit 35, the egg count starts to decrease and the quality of the eggs start to decrease as well.
“I wondered why I hadn’t done this earlier in life.”

Harry Hill’s friends ‘trust him less’ with medical advice now he has been on TV for so long

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Hill’s friends now “trust [him]” less for medical advice.
The 59-year-old comedian trained as a neurosurgeon before hitting the big time with shows like ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp’ but now that he has been in showbiz for more than 30 years, his friends have stopped asking him for medical advice.
He told The Guardian: “They used to [ask me for advice] but the further away I’ve got from it, the less they trust me. I still had my prescription pad until about 10 years ago.
“It used to be that you could pay to be on the register, which I did, but it wasn’t very much. I used to just prescribe antibiotics for sore throats and stuff.”
The ‘You’ve Been Framed’ star even revealed that one particularly well-known comedian cornered him backstage at a gig asking him to take a look at a potential STD but he had to refuse.
He said: “Then they changed the rules, the spoilsports. One comedian – who I won’t name, but he’s better known than you might think – once tried to show me his genital warts at a urinal in the Edinburgh festival. I had no expertise in that area, so I refused to examine the appendage in question.”
Meanwhile, Harry will celebrate his 60th birthday at the beginning of October and explained that while he remembered being wary of his 30th birthday approaching, with each new decade he has got “funnier” as time has gone on.
He said: “I remember at 30 thinking: ‘Oh, God, what am I going to do?’ At 40, your friends start getting divorced. 50 was ropey because you start getting a bit tired and also your friends start dying.
“The truth is, I’ve been doing it so long, that if you took a scan of my brain, you see a hugely overdeveloped organ with humour squeezing out the self-awareness. As a comedian, I think you get funnier as you get older, particularly with my character who has a childlike quality, so it’s even funnier if you see me rolling around on the floor or lying on an ironing board that collapses.”

Loose Women’s Kaye Adams reflects on recent massage in Hong Kong: ‘I was straddled from behind!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kaye Adams ended up being “straddled from behind” during a recent trip to Hong Kong.
The 61-year-old journalist – who is best known as a long-running host of ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ – had taken her daughter Charley , 21, on holiday to the Chinese region and the pair went for a massage, but was shocked at how invasive the therapy was.
Speaking on her ‘How To Be 60’ podcast, she said: “I just said yes to everything. We have a masseuse each. She was going through a little tick list with me beforehand and then she said ‘You like your breasts and stomach massage?’ Charley said ‘Yes!’ and I thought I’d better say yes as well. I was on the table, whale music going.
“They gave me these funny little pants and I was lying on my front first and then I just felt her straddling me. So you feel one knee going on the table, and then the leg going over. I thought ‘Right, okay, I’ve ended up in Hong Kong being straddled from behind in front of my daughter!’
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant – who has been in a relationship with tennis coach Ian Campbell since 1995 and also has Bonnie, 17, with him – then had to flip over on the table and expose herself the other way but by that time had accepted the whole situation and found that it “wasn’t unpleasant” in the end.
She said: “So she gets off me and I had to flip over. Then by that time I just gave into it. She does my breasts and my stomach and it wasn’t unpleasant, actually. I just kept my eyes shut!”

Kirstie Allsopp reveals family heartbreak as she announces that her dad has died

OHMYGOSSIP — Kirstie Allsopp’s dad has died.
The 52-year-old presetner took to social media on Thursday (06.06.24) to reveal that her father Charlie had passed away the night before at the age of 83 and hailed him as one of the “best” of his kind as she vowed that she will always be “proud” to have been his daughter.
Alongside an old photo of her father, she wrote on Instagram: “This is my dad, Charlie Hindlip, he was a great auctioneer, the best of his generation, an artist, a gardener, a father of four, and grandfather of eight, a loving husband to a wife he lost too soon. He was a real star, he worked hard, played hard and went further than anyone ever expected.
“He died at home yesterday, surrounded by love, flowers and photographs, in a house he built, looking out over a stunning garden he created from scratch. I have been so proud to be his daughter all my life, and will be until the day I die.
“Bless you Dad, we loved you so much.”
Her ‘Location, Location, Location’ co-star Phil Spencer was quick to send his condolences in the comments.

Ishana Night Shyamalan set out to defy expectations on The Watchers

OHMYGOSSIP — Ishana Night Shyamalan had “something to prove” on her directorial debut ‘The Watchers’.
The 24-year-old filmmaker has made her bow behind the camera on the supernatural horror flick and was interested in confounding the expectations of those who expected a movie in a similar manner to the work of her father M. Night Shyamalan – the helmer of ‘The Sixth Sense’ and ‘Knock at the Cabin’.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Ishana said: “I was really interested in sort of playing with those expectations. Knowing that my being by him and the kind of audience expects from his filmmaking, I was interested in using that as a thing to start with and then kind of subverting that and surprising you as to where the movie goes and what the tone is, even.
“I think that’s all wonderful. I really enjoy having something to prove and starting with what people think.”
Dakota Fanning plays the lead role in the film and was impressed by the “creative” and “artistic” approach of the first-time director.
The 30-year-old actress said: “I think every director is unique, no matter what the experience is. Personalities are unique, ways of working and ways of talking about scripts are unique, rehearsal styles are different, so I think it’s always a singular experience working with any director, regardless of what they’ve done before.
“With Ishana, this may be her debut feature film, but she’s such a creative, artistic person and has done so much thinking about the film that she wanted to make and the world that she wanted to create, so it was wonderful getting to be a part of that with her.”
Dakota continued: “She comes from a family that’s very creative obviously, and so it was very inspiring to see her forging her own path within that. I loved getting to work with her and getting to know her, she’s also a really nice, wonderful person and happy to have her as a friend as well.
“We could find things as young women to relate on that you don’t always find with the director that you’re working with.”

Will Smith: TV improvements have made it tough for the film industry

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith thinks that improvements to TV shows have made things harder for the film industry.
The 55-year-old star believes that the box office is struggling because the spectacle is now matched on the small screen, making it more challenging to entice audiences to the cinema.
Speaking on the latest episode of Hot Ones, Will said: “The definition of a hit is still pretty much the same. Essentially, it’s just harder to get one.
“You used to be able to put some explosions in the trailer and a couple of good jokes and people were there. And television is so good, there are things that people just aren’t going to leave their house for. There’s definitely a higher demand for a certain type of film for people to leave their homes.”
Meanwhile, Will also revealed that he regards the 2006 drama ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ as the “best movie” of his career.
He said: “I think the individual best movie, all around, that I’ve ever made is ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’. Right behind that is the first ‘Men In Black’. The direction, cinematography and music…
“If I had to put four of them in a time capsule it would be ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’, the first ‘Men In Black’, ‘I Am Legend’ and probably ‘King Richard’.”
Will has reprised his role as Miami detective Mike Lowrey in the movie ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ and is impressed with the “aggressive” creative choices that were made for the fourth film in the buddy cop series.
In an interview with Empire magazine, the ‘Gemini Man’ star said: “It has to feel like it’s earned the right to be a movie today.
“I always hate when you see sequels that are victory laps. In ‘Ride or Die’ we’re taking some really aggressive creative shots.”

Olivia Attwood makes husband Bradley Dack sit through admin meetings: ‘It’s non-romantic stuff…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Attwood makes her husband Bradley Dack sit through admin meetings.
The 33-year-old TV star married Sunderland AFC player Bradley, 30, in 2023 and has taken it upon herself to chair regular meetings where she insists that she and her husband discuss matters relating to their finances and other affairs.
Speaking on her ‘So Wrong, It’s Right’ podcast, she said: “Essentially, now I’m in an adult relationship, we have a house, we have dogs, but we have very busy work schedules, I like to schedule what I call Relationship Boardroom. It’s non-romantic stuff, like admin, bills, [organising] the summer holidays and who will look after the dogs.
“Do we need to update our insurance? It’s so lame, I’m not going to pretend that it’s not.
“So I’ll text Brad to tell him and he’ll get the minutes before the meeting.
“Whenever I tell him what is on the agenda and ask him if he wants to bring anything to the agenda, he never does.”
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist noted that Bradley often just “agrees with everything” she has to say because he wants everything to be over as soon as possible.
“I run the meeting, I am guest speaking, and the host. He is the only attendee and normally stays awake for the first segment. I ask him what he thinks and he just agrees with everything because he wants it to be over as quick as possible.
“I feel like that’s how Brad feels about his life since he made a commitment to me, he just wants to get in and out with as little trauma as possible!”
Since she shot to fame on ‘Love Island’ in 2017, Olivia has presented a slew of documentaries covering a range of topics and teased that another series of ‘Getting Filthy Rich’ – in which she interviews those making a fortune through online sex work – could be on the way soon.
“Documentaries…my brain is always ticking away. I’ve got so many things that I want to do but first of all, there’s more areas to be covered in ‘Getting Filthy Rich’ and if you keep your eyes peeled there might be another series.”

Laura Tobin reveals future plans for TV career away from Good Morning Britain

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Tobin wants to present more shows about climate change.
The 42-year-old meteorologist has been a part of ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ since its inception in 2014 and while she “loves” her job, she would also like to branch out and work on other programmes.
She told Express.co.uk: “I love it! I mean, I get to tell people the weather every day, and then I have like a little segment every day where I can talk about something else.
“Whether it’s like a climate report, whether it’s the Northern Lights, whether it’s extreme rainfall around the world – for me, weather forecasting is my first love – it’s my bread and butter, it’s what I do.
“If I can, like, jot in all of these extra bits, you know, sprinkles of science while people are having their breakfast that make it interesting – it’s a dream scenario.
“I’d love to do more shows talking about climate change. I’ve done some stuff with the Tonight Team looking at the multi-benefits if you want to change your diet – one thing people can do to reduce the impact of climate change is reducing food waste.”
Laura works alongside the likes of Charlotte Hawkins, Adil Ray, Richard Madeley and used to feature along Ben Shephard – who now hosts ‘This Morning’ with Cat Deeley – and insisted that she has the “best job in the world” because of her colleagues.
She added: I literally have the best job in the world. Charlotte [Hawkins] and Adil [Ray] just came over. And yeah, we just have a laugh every single day. And we’re always seeing Ben walking down the corridor – so it’s like he’s not even gone – we see him all the time! I mean, I feel we have like a big cast of presenters and everyone just brings something different when they present. For me, I love having Richard Madeley, because he’s a big space geek.
“There was a big comet going through the sky, and he was like, ‘Laura, Laura, Laura!’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’ve got my fellow science geek! But, obviously, Martin Lewis – he loves a graph – he’s the only person who brings a graph to the show, other than me. Everyone brings something different.”

Corrie legend Helen Worth being considered for Strictly but insiders say it could be a ‘disaster’

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Worth is reportedly being considered for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 73-year-old actress has just announced that she will be leaving her role as Gail Platt on ITV1 soap opera ‘Coronation Street’ in December after 50 years on screen and now bosses of the BBC Latin and ballroom show are said to be interested in offering her a place in this year’s lineup, although insiders have warned that it would be a “disaster” if her character is killed off and then she appears on the dancefloor in the same week.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “This really would be a disaster for the show because they want the focus to be on Gail’s big exit, the details of which are being kept under wraps. But it raises the prospect of her potentially featuring in a storyline where she is seen dying of a terminal illness during the week, then popping up on a Saturday night, potentially dancing as a zombie on Strictly’s Halloween special. Not a good look.
It was recently reported that Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts is also in talks to join the upcoming series and if Helen does take part, she will join a long list of her ‘Corrie’ co-stars who have taken part in the competition shortly after quitting the soap.
Tina O’Brien – who plays Helen’s on-screen daughter Sarah – appeared on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2010 before making her comeback to the cobbles in 2014, whilst Natalie Gumde reached the final in 2013, just months after her on-screen alter-ego Kirsty Soames was sent to prison for physically abusing her then-husband Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).
In 2022, former Hear’Say singer Kym Marsh – who played Michelle Connor on ‘Coronation Street’ – competed in ‘Strictly’ after she had left the soap behind and began working for the BBC on ‘Morning Live’, whilst Ellie Leach was crowned champion in 2023 just months after she left the role of Faye Windass.

Dancing On Ice’s Lou Sanders reveals wish to host a dating show

OHMYGOSSIP — Lou Sanders wants to host a dating show.
The 45-year-old comedienne is a big fan of the genre but admitted she wouldn’t very much like to take part in a show like ‘Celebs Go Dating’ although she would perhaps like to play matchmaker in a series of her own.
She told the Daily Express’ Saturday magazine: ” I love dating shows like ‘First Dates’ and ‘Love On The Spectrum’. They’re done in a sweet way. I feel like a lot of reality TV shows are overproduced and it makes you feel icky because those people have got to carry on with their lives and the shows have made them look one-dimensional and unlikeable.
“TV producers have to trust that people are entertaining enough on their own I don’t know [if I would like to participate in one]. I would like to host one – I’ve got an idea for a comedy dating show where myself and comedian Harriet Kemsley would create a celebrity dating agency. That would be really fun.”
Meanwhile, the former ‘Dancing on Ice’ contestant has been watching Lucia Keskin’s sitcom ‘Things You Should Have Done’ recently and is keen to work with the YouTube star herself soon.
Asked what she has been watching on television, she said: “Lucia Keskin’s show ‘Things You Should Have Done’. I love her. I’m trying to write a project for both of us because we have a common weirdness. I’ve also been watching Channel 4’s Big Boys and
“I want to watch ‘Pet Psychics’ on Channel 5 because my accountant’s receptionist told me that cats understand everything. I’ve made loads of jokes about one of my cats in front of him and I feel so bad about it!”

Joshua John Miller was “not prepared for the experience” of directing The Exorcism

OHMYGOSSIP — Joshua John Miller was “not prepared for the experience” of directing a movie.
The 49-year-old actor has taken the reins on ‘The Exorcism’ – which stars Russel Crowe and is inspired by the 1974 classic horror of ‘The Exorcist’ that featured his father Jason Miller – but was taken aback by how “fraught” the whole thing was for him and now feels “more prepared” for next time.
He told The AU Review: “Let’s just say I have a lot more guile than before this process. I think that’s more rooted in optimism about film. I still feel that cinema is the path forward, and not all these streaming things, you know? I actually want to shoot on film for my next movie. I believe in cinema. I don’t believe in Hollywood. And I think there’s a distinct difference.
“I was not prepared for this experience, to be honest. It was fraught for me. I think I learned a lot, and I’m more prepared than ever for the next.”
In the movie, a troubled actor begins to unravel while shooting a horror film and Josh recalled that he couldn’t exactly remember when he first saw the uncut version of the ‘The Exorcist’ – which starred Linda Blair as a demonically possessed child – but still believes it is a “perfect” example of its genre.
He said: “I think I first saw it on television, so it was obviously heavily edited. I saw it a couple of times when I was a kid. It was exciting and weird and scary. The uncut version? I wonder when the first time I saw it was…
“I know I saw the re-issue, and the new cut that (William) Friedkin had done that came out in the late 90s or early 2000s. I didn’t think that was as good as the original. But I got to see it on the big screen, and that was cool. It still remains one of my favourite movies. And I don’t say that in a biased way. It just happens to be, I think, a perfect film. I think it’s challenging in the way it deals with faith and the fear of the unknown. I think it’s also a weird allegory for divorce and the fallout of the family unit. It has layers.”
‘The Exorcism’ is due for release on June 21.

Original Golden Ticket from Willy Wonka could fetch thousands at auction

OHMYGOSSIP — An original Golden Ticket from ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ could sell for up to £20,000 at auction.
The valuable prop is an important part of the narrative in the classic 1971 film – which is based on Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel – as it is how Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum) and the other children Augustus Gloop (Michael Bollner), Violet Beauregarde (Denise Nickerson), Veruca Salt (Julie Dawn Cole) and Mike Teavee (Paris Themmen) gain entry into the world-famous chocolate factory.
In an auction set to take place on Wednesday (12.06.24), organisers Bonhams are expecting that the original prop will sell for between £15,000 and £20,000.
A footnote from the auction house reads: “This rare golden ticket was gifted to the vendor in the late 1970s by a family friend who had been working in the film industry in LA during this time.
“Director Mel Stuart kept tight controls on the prop Golden Tickets produced for the film and as such they rarely appear on the market, almost all known examples have been from past cast members.”
The prop is described exactly as it appears in the film, and the original inscription printed on the ticket is still in tact more than 50 years later.
A description read: “gold-coloured foil ticket with scalloped edges, bearing a printed inscription reading in part, Wonka’s / Golden Ticket / Greetings to you, the finder of this / Golden Ticket, from Mr. Willy Wonka!, accompanied by a letter of provenance.”
It is unclear which of the characters the particular ticket belonged to in the film, but actress Julie Dawn Cole previously revealed that she had held on to hers after filming and only sold it in 2019 for a total of £15,000.

Tom Burke was surprised and thrilled by Furiosa role

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Burke’s role in ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ came as a “great surprise”.
The 42-year-old actor always wanted to star in a blockbuster action film but didn’t think his earlier career choices would lead to a role such as Praetorian Jack in the new movie.
He told Big Issue magazine: “Mel Gibson was one of my favourite actors, so my younger self would love to know I was going to do a ‘Mad Max’ film.
“Richard Harris and Anton Lesser re the people who made me want to act, but I also loved Mel Gibson and Eddie Murphy.
“I remember watching ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ with my dad and him going, ‘That man has poise.’ And he does!
“I always knew I’d love to do an action film and if you’re doing that, you want it to be with someone like George Miller.
“But you think, if I’m going to have that career, I’ve got to probably do a lot of not so good action films first to get in that sphere.
“And as a younger actor, I was like, I’d rather be in a Strindberg play actually.
“That’s going to be more interesting. So it’s been a great surprise that it’s somehow led around to this.”
Tom’s godfather was the late Alan Rickman, and he learned a lot from him.
He said: “Alan Rickman taught me so much. He would say to everyone, ‘Remember, it’s not a race, remember it’s not a race.’
“I know people who do treat acting like it’s a race and that must be exhausting.
“There were a couple of near misses with roles that could have made a substantial difference to my career. But I just had to let go.
“It was like seeing people sprinting off ahead of you, many of whom are my friends.
“Most actors have that experience at some point.”
The ‘Mank’ actor would rather take the time to enjoy all aspects of his life instead of focusing solely on his work.
He added: “I don’t want it to say ‘He made 200 movies’ on my gravestone – there’s so much other stuff in my life to enjoy.
“I wonder when people are flying high if they ever have a moment to experience other stuff.”

Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith reveal plans for future after Inside No. 9

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith “don’t know” what to do after the conclusion of ‘Inside No. 9’ .
The comedy writing duo will star in the finale of their hit BBC anthology show when it is broadcast on Tuesday (11.06.24) after nine series on air and now Steve, 56, has admitted they both just feel “lucky” to have got so far with the project to begin with.
He told The Guardian’s Saturday magazine: “We don’t know what the future holds but we’re ready to move on. We’ve been so lucky. Not many people have these opportunities. ‘Inside No 9’ has been a whole lifetime’s showreel of what we can do. There’s a sense of great pride in what we’ve achieved.”
The ‘Benidorm’ star and his co-writer had been searching for something new to do after their hit sketch show ‘League of Gentlemen’ came to an end in the early 2000s and ended up pitching the series on the spot, with the idea that it would reflect the sort of single-story format that had been popular in the 1960s.
He said: “We always liked the idea of doing something like the ‘Play of the Week’. It felt very retro but in being so retro it felt fresh, because that style of programming had fallen out of favour.”
Reece added: “We thought: ‘Let’s get back to that sort of telly – a kind of ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ show where we get a different story every week.
“We’d always been told, even through our sketch show writing years in ‘The League of Gentlemen’ that you need to have something [in the show] that comes back.
“Something that is not resetting each time. So it felt like a hard sell but we just slipped into it because the BBC trusted us by then.”

Corrie star Mollie Gallagher reveals shock diagnosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Mollie Gallagher has been diagnosed with ADHD.
The 26-year-old actress – who is best known for playing Nina Lucas on the ITV1 soap opera ‘Coronation Street’ – took to social media on Friday (07.06.24) evening to reveal that she had recently been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, meaning that she has differences in brain development and brain activity that affect attention.
She wrote on Instagram: “I’ve just recently been diagnosed after knowing for years and I’m just finally happy that everything makes sense now.”
The soap star did not elaborate any further on the news, but in 2023 when she was taking part in ‘Dancing On Ice’, she revealed just how tricky it was to train for the competition and concentrate on filming for the serial as well.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I love being busy. It’s [difficult] when you’re up north and you can’t find a rink!”
Fellow soap star Carley Stenson – who previously played Steph Cunningham on ‘Hollyoaks’ -was also taking part in ‘Dancing On Ice’ at the timeshe could undertand Mollie’s dilemma.
Carley added of Mollie’s gruelling schedule: “I don’t know how Mollie’s been doing it. She’s doing 12hr days filming and trying to skate. And then finding a rink to try and skate … Finding a rink, finding the hours to fit, and you’re only allowed to do two hours a day. You feel like you only, mind the pun, find your beat after an hour, and then you’ve only got an hour left.”
Mollie joined ‘Coronation Street’ in 2019 as the long-lost niece of established character Roy Cropper, and won the award Serial Drama Performance at the NTAs in 2021 following a harrowing boyfriend that had seen her boyfriend Seb die after sustaining injuries in an attack.
