Meghan Markle admits she misses ‘Suits’ ahead of show’s Season Premiere

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duchess of Sussex misses ‘Suits’. The 36-year-old royal was forced to turn her back on her acting career when she got engaged to her now-husband Prince Harry last year and, although she’s clearly enjoying being a member of the royal family, she has admitted she feels sad about the fact she had to give up her role as Rachel Zane in the American legal drama.

During a walkabout with Harry in Dublin on Wednesday (11.07.18), the brunette beauty – who was known as Meghan Markle before she got married – spoke to members of the public and revealed to fans that she misses starring in the show.

One fan, Fiona Moore, recalled their conversation afterwards, telling HELLO! magazine: “I’m a fan of ‘Suits’ and I said to her that I miss it and she said ‘so do I.’ She seemed very relaxed and was joking and laughing.”

But, although she’s no longer on screen, Meghan has remained close with her former co stars and even invited them to her wedding at Windsor Castle on May 19.

Sarah Rafferty – who plays Donna Paulsen in the drama – said: “It was a wonderful moment to get to see [Meghan] on that day and in that moment. It was special.”

Meghan tied the knot with Harry in front of the world at St George’s Chapel almost two months ago – and she’s certainly had no issues settling into the royal family as she’s attended numerous engagements since returning from honeymoon.

However, although the former television star is enjoying her new life, her father Thomas Markle is devastated that she now lives in England and is convinced he’ll never see her again because the royal family want “shot of him.”

A source said recently: “Thomas is heartbroken. He is at a complete loss as to why he has been excluded.”

Thomas was asked to walk Meghan down the aisle when she tied the knot with Harry, 33, but, just days before their nuptials were due to take place, he was forced to pull out because he had to undergo emergency surgery on his heart in the US.

Prince Harry just said no to a big family: 5 Kids is too many!

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry doesn’t want a big family. The 33-year-old royal and his wife Duchess Meghan – who got married at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, Windsor, on May 19 – are expected to start trying for a baby in the near future after they tied the knot almost two months ago, but the flame-haired hunk has already decided that he doesn’t want “too many” kids.

As the couple greeted fans in Dublin on Wednesday (11.07.18), Elaine Adam-Stewart, 43, told Harry: “My husband also has red hair and he gave me five children — when are you and Meghan going to get going?”

Speaking to People magazine, she added: “He laughed and said ‘five children? Too many.’ ”

And it looks like it won’t be too long before the royal couple set the ball rolling as the 36-year-old former actress’ father Thomas Markle recently revealed his daughter has wanted a baby of her own for a “long time.”

He said: “She’s wanted children for a long time. When she met Harry and she spoke about how much she loves him… there’s got to be a child in the making there soon. I couldn’t be more proud of those two, I think they’ll do a fabulous job. They’re great and I love then dearly. I’m very happy to have a new son-in-law.”

Thomas was unable to attend the couple’s wedding because he was recovering from heart surgery but he’s looking forward to finally meeting Harry on a visit to London soon. He explained: “I look forward to coming to London to meet them soon. I’d love to. I’m on the mend and feeling much better and doctors are making me lose weight and take better care of myself. I’ll be ready to go. It’s going to have to work out for them and me as well. I know they are very busy – I’d really like to see them go away from everyone and have a honeymoon. They really do deserve to do that. I would love to meet the Queen. I have had respect for that woman since I was a child. She is one of the most incredible women in the world and I would love to meet her.”

Meghan Markle makes her royal ascot debut in style

OHMYGOSSIP — Exactly one month after the world watched the royal wedding, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a surprise appearance in England Tuesday for the Royal Ascot opener. Queen Elizabeth II, her family and her guests will arrive at 2 p.m. each day during the royal procession, where they’ll be driven in horse-drawn carriages down the race track and into the pageant ring, E! Online mediates.

It’s the first time Meghan has attended the annual event, which began in 1768. She wore a Givenchy dress—the same label she wore for her wedding day—and a Philip Treacy fascinator. She likely impressed Queen Elizabeth II, who signs off on every detail, including the dress code.

Queen Elizabeth II arrived in the first carriage, joined by Prince Andrew, Princess Anne and Lord Samuel Vestey. Princess Beatrice, Prince Charles, Princess Eugenie and Camilla Parker-Bowles sat in the second carriage; Meghan and Harry joined Prince Edward and Countess Sophie in the third carriage; and Prince Michael of Kent, Princess Michael of Kent, Lord de Mauley Rupert Ponsonby and Lady de Mauley Lucinda Ponsonby sat in the fourth carriage. Prince William, meanwhile, was busy exploring the International Business Festival in Liverpool, and Mike Tindall and Zara Tindall welcomed Baby No. 2, a girl, Monday in Stroud.

Before the Royal Ascot, Kensington Palace announced Meghan and Harry will visit Dublin, Ireland on July 10 and July 11, at the request of Her Majesty’s Government. “The Duke and Duchess are looking forward to learning more about Ireland’s history and experiencing its rich culture,” the palace said, “as well as meeting the people who are shaping the country’s future.”

Prince Harry’s army pal Frankie O’Leary lands wedding role

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry personally invited one of his old army friends to play a key role in his upcoming wedding. The 33-year-old royal served in Afghanistan in 2007 alongside Corporal of Horse Frankie O’Leary and the soldier was honoured to be asked by his pal to be a member of the carriage procession when he ties the knot with Meghan Markle later this month, Express.co.uk mediates.

The corporal – who will be the first horseman on the left, escorting Harry’s carriage – said: “It is really important for us because he served with us as the Household Cavalry at Windsor, and he still wears our uniform on a regular basis. It is a real sense of pride to be asked to be involved in what is going to be an amazing occasion and celebration.”

And Frankie also revealed how Harry had helped him win over his now-wife Niina when they were strolling through Windsor together. He told reporters: “He [Prince Harry] saw me walking with a young lady. Unbeknownst to me, he was driving on his own, just going for a spin like you do as an English prince. He wound the window down and said ‘See you later, Frank’. I was like, ‘See you later, Sir’. I carried on walking. The young lady was a few steps behind me with her jaw on the floor like ‘…Was that…?’ I played it cool. It helped — she’s become my wife.”

And the soldier is delighted his friend – who he described as “a man of courage, a man of honour, a genuinely honest, kind man” – has found love with the former ‘Suits’ actress.
He said: “I’ve seen him grumpy. That’s a happy man out there.”

CoH O’Leary will be one of 24 soldiers and two officers forming the Travelling Escort at the wedding on May 19.

Prince Harry is incredibly grateful to have Meghan Markle alongside him for his public duties

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry is incredibly grateful to have Meghan Markle alongside him for his public duties. The 33-year-old royal – who will marry the former ‘Suits’ star next month – has been appointed a Commonwealth Youth Ambassador by his grandmother Queen Elizabeth and has vowed that he and his bride-to-be will do all they can to use his new role to support his family.

Speaking at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) Youth Forum on Monday (16.04.18), he said: “In my new role, I will work to support the Queen, my father the Prince of Wales, and my brother William, all of whom know that young people are the answer to the challenges of today.

“I am also incredibly grateful that the woman I am about to marry, Meghan, will be joining me in this work, of which she too is hugely excited to take part in.”
Harry – who is expected to tour the Commonwealth with Meghan, 36, after their wedding – went on to praise the current generation of “young adults” and how they are “connected” with others.

He said: “As I travel around the Commonwealth in my work on behalf of the Royal Family, it is striking to see just how different today’s generation of young adults are.

“You are connected. You have made positive use of technology to build relationships within your communities, nations and across the globe. You care. You want your nations to be cleaner, your planet to be greener, your friends and neighbours to be treated fairly and with respect, no matter their ethnicity, their religion, or their status.”

Harry vowed to take inspiration from his grandmother, and reflected on her famous 1947 speech, when she pledged her life to the Commonwealth.

He said: On the day of her 21st birthday, the then Princess Elizabeth gave an extraordinary radio address from Cape Town. With an eye on the future, and an already unflinching sense of duty, she made a commitment. She said that whether her life be long or short, it would be dedicated to the service of the people of the Commonwealth.

“All of us here today can be grateful that it is a long life the Queen is still enjoying. Her Majesty’s commitment has meant that the Commonwealth is a thriving family of nations, a common link between nearly two-and-a-half billion people, and a defender of democracy, justice and peace.”

In his role as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador, Harry will create links between young people and youth leaders and urge them to address the social, economic and environmental challenges they face using Commonwealth platforms.

Queen Elizabeth has met Sarah Clarke – the first female to be appointed to the role of Black Rod in the House of Lords

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth has met with the first female to be appointed to the role of Black Rod in the House of Lords. The 91-year-old monarch met with Sarah Clarke on Tuesday (13.02.18), who has become the first woman to hold the ceremonial position in the 650-year history of the role, as she was officially invested as Lady Usher of the Black Rod in Buckingham Palace.

Sarah has taken over the role from previous Black Rod David Leakey, and was presented with her ebony Black Rod and chain of office during her visit to the Palace, in preparation for being formally introduced into the House of Lords next week.

Black Rod is the senior official in the House of Lords responsible for maintaining order and is sent to ban g the door of the House of Commons to summon Mos to hear the Queen’s Speech at the State Opening of Parliament.

Within her role, Sarah will also act as secretary to the Lord Great Chamberlain, with responsibility for major ceremonial events in the Palace of Westminster. The Speaker of the House of Lords, Lord Fowler, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Sarah Clarke to the role of Black Rod. As the first woman to take on the role, this is a historic moment for the House. The Lords has a great record of women taking on senior political roles. Five of the last seven Leaders of the Lords and the current Leader of the Opposition have been women as well as both my predecessors as Lord Speaker.

“I am sure Sarah will continue that tradition and do an exemplary job as Black Rod. People are most familiar with Black Rod for the part they play at State Opening, but the job is much more than that. Some of the most important work happens behind the scenes in organising addresses to Parliament by visiting heads of state and other state events, as well as ensuring we have appropriate plans in place to keep the important work of the Lords going in a crisis.”

Meghan Markle made a secret visit to the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle made a secret visit to the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire. The 36-year-old American actress – who is set to marry Prince Harry on May 19 this year – is believed to have made up to four undercover visits to the Al Manaar mosque in West London where many of the survivors of the horrific blaze which tore apart the apartment building go to pray.

She is also said to have visited Westway Sports Centre, where survivors go to collect much needed supplies from hardworking volunteers and helpers. A leading Grenfell community member said: “Meghan’s visits mean so much to us. She has a special place in our hearts.”

Meghan’s decision to visit the centres comes as she is thought to be getting to grips with the charity sector in preparation for becoming a member of the royal family in just three months time.

An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Ms Markle has regularly been making private visits to organisations as she gets to know the charity sector.”

It comes after several members of the royal family visited those caught up in the June 14 blaze which killed at least 80 people, including Meghan’s 33-year-old fiancé Prince Harry.
The flame-haired prince was “moved” by the generosity of volunteers from British Red Cross after visiting a Royal Mail site in Greenford, north-west London in July last year.
A spokesperson said at the time: “Prince Harry wanted to visit the volunteers who have given many hours of their time to help sort through the huge number of donations made to the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

“His Royal Highness was moved to hear how generous the public and businesses have been in donating all kinds of items to those affected; he thanked the teams from the British Red Cross and the Royal Mail who have worked tirelessly to sort through the donations.”

Prince Henrik of Denmark has died at the age of 83

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Henrik of Denmark has died at the age of 83. The Danish royal – who was the husband of Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II – has passed away after having been in hospital for a lung infection, the Danish Royal Family have confirmed in a statement.

They said: “His Royal Highness Prince Henrik died on Tuesday, February 13, at 11.18pm quietly at Fredensborg Palace. The Prince was surrounded by Her Majesty the Queen and their two sons.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1l6U0F6E3I

Prince Henrik was admitted to hospital on January 28 for the lung infection, which began during a private trip to Egypt, and during which a benign tumour was found. Shortly before his death, he was transferred from a Copenhagen hospital back to the castle, north of the city, where he had wanted to spend “his final time”.

The Prince had retired from royal duties in 2016 before being diagnosed with dementia in September 2017. He was the subject of controversy after marrying Queen Margrethe II in 1967, as he made no secret of the fact he was unhappy that his title was not changed to King when she ascended to the throne in 1972. Last year, he claimed he did not wish to be buried beside his wife when she passes away – which is tradition in Denmark – as he insisted she didn’t treat him as an equal during their marriage.

In August, the palace’s communications chief, Lene Balleby said: “It is no secret that the prince for many years has been unhappy with his role and the title he has been awarded in the Danish monarchy. This discontent has grown more and more in recent years. For the prince, the decision not to buried beside the queen is the natural consequence of not having been treated equally to his spouse – by not having the title and role he has desired.”

Royal couples are traditionally buried together in Roskilde Cathedral, west of Copenhagen, but as of the time of writing, it is unknown where Prince Henrik will be laid to rest.

Aeroplanes have been banned from flying over Windsor Castle during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding

OHMYGOSSIP — Aeroplanes have been banned from flying over Windsor Castle during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. The happy couple are set to tie the knot in May this year at St George’s Chapel inside the castle, and it has now been confirmed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) that the airspace over the English town of Windsor has been restricted for May 19, the day of their nuptials.

According to The Sun newspaper, the CAA claim the flight ban has been requested for “safety and security” reasons, but royal sources have said the move comes after concerns that excess noise from flights leaving nearby Heathrow Airport could disrupt the ceremony.

One source told the publication: “There are constantly planes flying over Windsor, and the last thing anyone wants is for Meghan and Harry’s vows to be lost in the noise of a jet. The ban on planes flying overhead will make sure that guests will be able to hear a pin drop in the Chapel as the couple are declared husband and wife.”

And a police spokesman also confirmed that a security plan is in place for the flame-haired royal, 33, and the former ‘Suits’ star’s big day. They said: “An appropriate policing plan is in place.”

Harry and Meghan’s wedding is set to be an unconventional one, as it was previously reported that 36-year-old Meghan will give a speech at the ceremony, after it was claimed her father Thomas Markle wouldn’t want to give one of his own.

It comes after it was previously reported that the happy couple were opting for a “fun and quirky” ceremony, as neither of them want to follow the traditional “white and classic” wedding pitched to them by royal aides.

An insider said: “They want it to be fun and reflective of themselves as a couple and of their family and friends that will be there. It will still very much be a royal wedding – just not a traditional one.”

Lady Colin Campbell is going to share the deep conversations she had with Princess Diana in a new play about the late royal

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Colin Campbell is going to share the “deep conversations” she had with Princess Diana in a new play about the late royal. The author – who was married to Lord Colin Campbell in 1974, Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, for just 14 months – admitted she is planning on getting the production staged to “coincide” with the wedding of Diana’s son Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle on May 19.

The 68-year-old writer has teamed up with director Dick Douglass – who she worked on ‘Hamlet’ with previously – and he’s hoping it’s going to be a hit on the West End, after its initial opening at the socialite’s Castle Goring mansion in West Sussex.

Speaking about her plans to the MailOnline, Lady Campbell – who has decided to cast someone else has herself in the production – said: “Last year with the Accession anniversary, there were lots of royal TV documentaries and things that had very little genuine information we hadn’t heard before.

“My play will be based on actual conversations I had with her and it will specifically be timed to coincide with the royal wedding. The play will have new insights — there is even somebody playing me.

And Douglass added: “I’m hopeful after an opening at the castle it will transfer to the West End.”

The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ contestant has warned that it will be “hard-hitting”, but she doesn’t think Harry, 33, will “mind” her exposing the conversations, which she chose not to publish in her book ‘Diana in Private: The Princess Nobody Knows’ in 1992, which was published five years before the Princess of Wales – who also had Prince William with ex-husband Prince Charles – was killed in a car crash in Paris.

She said: “I was left with some deep conversations that never made it into the book — which I have used as a basis of the play. It is hard-hitting because the rawnesss of her words will show she was not so much a sacrificial lamb as she depicted. I don’t think Prince Harry will mind.”

Prince William hosted the third annual Centrepoint Awards at his royal residence to reward those who are working to end homelessness

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William feels deep “frustration” that homelessness still exists in the UK. The 35-year-old royal has been a patron of the charity Centrepoint, which provides accommodation and support to homeless people aged 16 to 25, since 2005 and gave a moving speech at the organisation’s annual awards where he spoke of the bravery of the young persons who benefit from the team’s help, Hello Magazine mediates.

Speaking at Kensington Palace on Thursday (08.02.18) at the ceremony, William said: “The courage these young people have shown in spite of the most difficult of circumstances is an example to us all. What they have achieved – jobs, university, independence – is a testament not only to their strength of character but also to the dedication of Centrepoint’s team.”

The Duke of Cambridge – who has two-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte and four-year-old son Prince George with his wife Duchess Catherine, who is expecting their third child – is proud of the work Centrepoint has done over the past five decades, but said he is disappointed that in this day and age, a “prosperous” country still sees thousands of teenagers and young adults forced onto the streets without a permanent dwelling.

He concluded: “However, for me, tonight is one of sharply contrasting emotions. Soon Centrepoint will be 50 years old. I feel immense pride in all Centrepoint has accomplished in that time, but with it, disappointment and frustration – frustration that in one of the most prosperous countries in the world homelessness is still putting the lives and futures of our young people at risk.”

Hours earlier, William attended Burlington Danes Academy in West London, with rapper Professor Green, to talk about mental health and cyberbullying. There, William spoke of how concerned he is for young girls who believe airbrushed photographs on social media is how they should aim to look. The prince was speaking with two 15-year-old girls, Samara Hackett-Valton and Sophie Crowder, about his fears about social media.

He told them: “I worry for you girls. The touched-up pictures are not real. Don’t try to recreate them or think that’s what you’ve got to aim for. There’s a lot of fakeness online so don’t worry about that.”

Meghan Markle used a code name for Prince Harry

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle used a code name for Prince Harry on the set of ‘Suits’. The 36-year-old actress used to have a different name to refer to the flame-haired royal to keep their romance under wraps, Vanity Fair mediates.

Wendell Pierce, who played Markle’s character’s father on the US show, said: “We always talked about [Harry] in code, really. You know, ‘How you doing?,’ ‘Oh, I’m going to London, coming from London,’ whatever.”

And Pierce formed a close bond with Markle during their time on the show together. Speaking to Harry Connick Jr. on his talk show, he added: “I had a really wonderful moment as we were coming to an end of her time on the show. It was just she and I in the room and I said, ‘I know your life is going to change but always know, no matter where you are, I will always be your loving fake father.'”

Meanwhile, it was previously revealed that Windsor chapel staff have been asked to watch ‘Suits’ ahead of Harry and Meghan’s wedding next year. Historian Hugo Vickers, who is Captain of the Lay Stewards, said: “I’ve told the Stewards to get Netflix and watch Suits, so they know who everyone is at the wedding.”

Meghan has now formally exited her role of Rachel Zane on ‘Suits’, something which had been planned for a year. The show’s creator Aaron Korsh said: “I knew from a year ago that this relationship was burgeoning. And I had a decision to make because I didn’t want to intrude and ask her, ‘Hey what’s going on and what are you going to do?’ So collectively with the writers, we decided to take a gamble that these two people were in love and it was going to work out.

“What we decided to do was say, ‘Look, I would rather have good things happen to Meghan in her life,’ which would likely mean her leaving the show. So let’s plan on that and it’s much easier to undo that, if it came to it, than to just plan on her staying forever and then finding out she’s going to go.”
