Prince Harry the horse whisperer

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry is enlisting the help of a man dubbed “the original horse whisperer” to help veterans.
The 33-year-old royal is keen to “understand” the technique of communicating with equines through body language done by Monty Roberts, who has long been a pal of Queen Elizabeth and worked on her horses over the years, because he has also helped ex-servicemen and women.
The 81-year-old star said: “The prince has learned of this work and wanted to get a greater understanding. It will be an honour to show him.”
Monty has taught his technique to former soldiers to help them deal with “hidden wounds”, the likes of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The self-confessed cowboy from California still speaks to the 90-year-old monarch every year and thanked Harry’s grandmother for helping him to get where he is today after she employed him to work on her horses.
He added to the London Evening Standard newspaper: “I owe Her Majesty everything. If she hadn’t pushed me, I would still be a cowboy from Salinas and the world would not know about my methods of training horses with non-violence.
“She always takes my calls. Every year, two, three, four times a year that we get together, we discuss what’s happened, we discuss what we want to do.”

Prince Harry's laugh with hockey player

OHMYGOSSIP — A Team GB Olympic hockey player joked to Prince Harry she only used crutches to get his attention at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday night (18.10.16).
Susannah Townsend, who needs the walking aid after undergoing knee surgery last week, attended a royal reception for the medal-winning members of Britain’s Olympics and Paralympics squads and quipped that she wasn’t even injured but just wanted to stand out so he would speak to her.
An onlooker said: “Harry jokingly asked if her leg injury had occurred from a night celebrating in the Team GB parade the previous day, but Susannah just made him laugh by saying she wasn’t even injured and had just used the crutches to get his attention.”
The pair also shared a laugh when Harry misheard Susannah, thinking she said it was going to take 69 months, rather than six to nine, to recover from her injury.
The eyewitness added to Us Weekly magazine: “They were discussing her recovery time of six to nine months, but Harry widened his eyes and said he thought she said 69! It led to giggles… about that particular sex position.”
The 32-year-old royal was also overheard saying he will go to watch Susannah and the British hockey team play at the 2018 World Cup.
Harry chatted to several Olympians and Paralympians at the event, and reserved a special embrace for swimmer Ellie Simmonds.
He got down on one knee to give the Paralympian a hug before having a chat with the star.
She said afterwards: “It was the first time I’d met Harry and he gave me a hug. I must have mentioned to someone I was really looking forward to meeting him and he just hugged me.’
“It’s great to come to the Palace which is incredible and to be honoured by the Olympics and Paralympics – it’s amazing.”

Queen's corgis have own royal menu

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth’s corgis have their own menu which consists of fresh rabbit, beef, chicken and lamb.
The 90-year-old monarch’s former chef, Darren McGrady – who worked for the royal for 11 years – has revealed the canines are extremely well looked after, so much so he would have to cook up special meals for the mutts on a daily basis.
He said: “When I worked at the Palace, we actually had a royal menu for the dogs.
“It would be chosen and sent to us in the kitchen every month by Mrs Fennick, who took care of all the dogs at Sandringham.
“It would list each day what the dogs were to have. One day it would be beef, the next day chicken, the next day lamb, the next day rabbit and it alternated through those days.
“The beef would come in, we would cook it, dice it into really fine pieces and then we did same with the chicken. We’d poach them, and again chop them really, really small to make sure there were no bones so the dogs wouldn’t choke.”
The chef also revealed the queen’s pooches would indulge in freshly caught food if Prince William or Prince Harry had a successful hunting day.
He added to HELLO! Online: “Prince William and Prince Harry used to shoot rabbits on the Windsor Estate, so we’d get the rabbits, they’d have to be cleaned and then cooked.
“Some days some of the dogs were – shall we say for a better word – a little bunged up so we’d have to add cabbage on the menu, and then other days we’d actually put rice in there for the other way. It really was a case of following the menu.”
Darren was also Princess Diana’s chef for four years and in August he paid tribute to the late royal on the 19th anniversary of her death.
He tweeted: “19 years ago today I had dinner prepared for a special lady and her boys. She didn’t come home. #RIPPrincessDiana. (sic)”

The 28-year-old was set to attend a reception for the Olympians and Paralympians who won medals at the Rio 2016 Games this summer, but she pulled out of the event.

But several royals were at the event, including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, as well as Prince William, Prince Harry and Duchess Catherine.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent also spoke to Olympians and Paralympians at the reception.
Eugenie’s absence from Buckingham Palace comes a month after she and her boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, flew to Queen Elizabeth’s Scottish residence, Balmoral, to ask for the queen’s blessing for their engagement.
The loved up couple spent two days at the monarch’s Balmoral Castle because Eugenie’s cousin Prince Harry was hosting a shooting party to celebrate his 32nd birthday.
Jack is thought to have used the time wisely to ask Eugenie’s grandmother for her approval.
An insider said at the time: “You could call this weekend a rite of passage for Jack. There is no way he would be invited to stay with the Queen unless he was being welcomed into the royal fold and the bosom of the family.”

“He told me he listens to my music when he runs and then asked about my kids.”
Rebecca was shocked when William – who has son Prince George, three, and 17-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte with wife Duchess Catherine – asked about her children, Lillie and Karl, because she didn’t think he would know who they were.
She added to Closer magazine: “I was stunned. I went home and said to Karl and Lillie, ‘Guess what? Prince William knows who you are, how mad is that?’ ”

“He has all the charm and grace and warmth as Diana what a lovely person I am honoured lovely memory for the grandkids (sic)”
Rebecca’s performance was censored by a scrutinising committee which banned songs containing mild sexual references or religious connotations as they could be deemed offensive to local sensitivities.
Rebecca’s spokesperson said at the time: “After our hosts had been through all Rebecca’s song lyrics, we were asked to make sure she did not perform ‘I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm’, ‘Lover Man’, or ‘God Bless The Child’.
“They told us they loved ‘Blue Moon’ and ‘Get Happy’, and so she was happy to include those songs.”

Naval officers call for royal yacht replacement

OHMYGOSSIP — Senior naval officers have called for a replacement royal yacht to be produced.
Rear Admiral Sir John Garnier, Rear Admiral Sir Robert Woodard and Commodore Anthony Morrow commanded Her Majesty’s Yacht Britannia between them from 1985 and 1997 – when it was decommissioned – and they are keen for a new addition to the royal fleet.
In a letter to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, they wrote: “We are happy to add weight to the strong support that has been given in letters from many of your readers to the campaign to seek a replacement for the Royal Yacht Britannia.
“Our combined experience respectively in command of Britannia, from 1985 until she was decommissioned in 1997, witnessed the highly significant and tangible contribution she made for the United Kingdom throughout those and previous years.”
The trio also highlighted some comments by Prince Philip from 1997 when he said the Britannia yacht had “produced tangible and intangible contributions to the British economy”.
They added: “It was very disappointing that these benefits were not fully recognised at that time.
“However, we believe that the highly impressive role that Britannia played for the nation throughout those years could be continued well with a replacement royal yacht to enhance the prestige and trade of the United Kingdom in these times of great change.”
In 1997 the Conservative government said they were keen to replace the vessel, but they lost the election to Labour in May that year.
Labour then announcement the ship was being retired and there would be no replacement.

Prince Harry slams the treatment of British troops as a 'joke'

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has slammed the treatment of British troops as a “joke”.
The 32-year-old royal – who served a s a former attack pilot in two tours of Afghanistan – is upset by the way the Iraq Historic Allegations Team (IHAT) and the Operation Northmoor, who were set up to divulge more information about alleged abuses, as ridiculous, and urges for more support to be invested on the heroes who face prosecution.
However, Harry has had to keep his opinion to himself because of strict rules, which have been set up to bar royals from having their input on political situations.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper about Harry’s thoughts, a source said: “Harry is furious at the treatment of some British troops.
“He thinks the whole thing is a joke and is very concerned about the support these men and women are getting.
“He’s frustrated he can’t intervene, but knows he would get in trouble as it would be seen as political interference if he spoke out.”
And IHAT are believed to be investigating over 1,500 cases of alleged abuse, which occurred during the Iraq War, whilst Northmoor are concentrating on 550 reports of abuse in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, it has been reported Harry is in support of a new Department of Veterans’ affairs, to protect soldiers from “vexatious claims”.
The insider explained: “Men and women who served courageously are enduring this ordeal seemingly with no support.
“They should be backed to the hilt, not treated like common crooks.
“Harry’s view is that a Department of Veterans’ Affairs is a sensible way to achieve this. But he’s not able to say so.”
This news comes after the report that two British soldiers are allegedly being criminal investigated for detaining two Iraqi people who are believed to have killed British soldiers 13 years ago.
