Prince Harry's heartfelt speech to people of St Kitts and Nevis

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has thanked the people of St Kitts and Nevis for committing the Central Forest Reserve to the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy.
The 32-year-old royal made the heartfelt speech on behalf of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and said how “lucky” he was to visit the Caribbean and meet with locals, especially the young people of the country.
He said: “I feel so lucky to be visiting St Kitts and Nevis on behalf of The Queen. Her Majesty sends her best wishes to you all and is sorry not to be able to come personally.
“On trips like this, I have the great privilege of meeting leaders and dignitaries from many fields. But what is most important to me, is having the chance to meet the young people of the countries I visit.
“There is no better way to judge the future of a country than by spending time with its youth; taking the time to listen to what they have to say; and understanding their vision for the nation they will inherit.
“I am really pleased to have the opportunity to thank the people of St Kitts and Nevis for committing the Central Forest Reserve to the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy.
“My grandmother launched the Canopy project last year. All members of the Commonwealth have agreed to donate forested lands to this international environmental network.”
The flame-haired hunk says he has made memories that will “stay with him” for a lifetime on his two-week tour of the Caribbean.
He added: “Your contribution is incredibly generous. Not only will it encourage more visitors to this beautiful place, but will also give people around the Commonwealth the opportunity to learn about your forests and the ways you protect them. The forests we see behind us are truly amazing – thank you so much for contributing them to this project in the year of The Queen’s 90th birthday – and wow what a present.
“Thank you again for your friendly Caribbean welcome. I am only here for a short time, but can safely say that the beauty and people of St Kitts and Nevis will stay with me for a very long time.”

Prince Philip to host Duke of Edinburgh's Awards ceremony

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip will mark the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Westminster Abbey on Thursday (24.11.16).
The 90-year-old monarch and the 95-year-old prince will attend a ceremony to mark the milestone of the scheme, which was founded in 1956 by Philip.
A service of 2,000 people is expected to take place at the famous London landmark and among attendees include Paralympic gold medalist Hannah Cockroft and comedian Jon Culshaw.
During the last six decades, over 5.6 million young people in Britain have taken part in the scheme with 2.5 million gaining a bronze, silver or gold award for taking part in challenging exercises.
In the introduction to the service, Philip says: “The growth of the scheme owes everything to the untold numbers of volunteers who have given their time and enthusiasm to bring its benefits to a constantly growing number of young people all over the world.”
Back in May, Philip threw a garden party at Buckingham Palace to the 60th anniversary.
He was joined by 60 celebrities – including Ronan Keating and Ben Cohen – at the London residence where he dished out badges and certificates to the Gold winners as part of the programme’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
Anna Friel, who met the duke at the party, said: “I never did the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award when I was younger, but my best friends did. I was in the drama room while they were in the mountains. It’s a great scheme because it encourages young people to push themselves, it teaches them life skills.
“I was talking to someone the other day about why they did it, and they said, ‘Because it will help me to get a job, it shows that you are up for a challenge.’ ”
And the 40-year-old actress was so inspired by the programme, which recognise adolescents and young adults for completing a series of self-improvement exercises, that she’s decided to take on her own Diamond Challenge.
At the time, she said: “I am going to Borneo next week to help release some orang-utans into the wild, so maybe that could be my Diamond Challenge!”

Prince Harry helps save endangered baby turtles

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has helped save endangered baby turtles by releasing them into the sea.
The 32-year-old royal – who is currently on a tour of the Caribbean in place of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth – went to Lovers’ Beach on the Island of Nevis in the Caribbean on Wednesday (23.11.16) where he helped volunteers from the Nevis Turtle Group get five of the little reptiles back into their habitat after they were caught tangled in thick vegetation.
When the flame-haired hunk was handed more of the turtles, he said: “A whole team!”
And as they trotted off along the beach, Harry said: “Look at the energy they have as well. He’s waiting for the water to come to him – that’s really clever.”
One of the volunteers, Thema Ward said: “Harry was excellent. He got right down there digging with us and we weren’t expecting that.
“He is so down to earth – like his mum was.
“She blended right like a real person when she was here and Harry did the same.”
The day before (22.11.16), Harry visited a secondary school and got his hands dirty gutting a fish on the island of Barbuda.
He had to remove the internal organs from a snapper when he visited Sir McChesney George High School.
He joked with 13-year-old Jenessa Gray, and said : “You’re going to take this home? Don’t tell your parents I gutted it.”
The fame-haired hunk, who by this point had his hands inside the dead fish, laughed about how unprofessional he must look and how unlike TV’s ‘The Great British Bake Off’ it felt.
He quipped: “How long have we got? Not exactly ‘Bake Off.'”

They said: “We’re as interested as everyone else to see what he comes up with.
“The Queen is certainly aware of the proposal and there will be continual briefings from us.”
Prior to agreeing to do the stained glass window, David turned down the chance to paint the queen in 2011.
At the time, he said: “When I was asked, I told them I was very busy painting England actually. Her country.”

Prince George's favourite dinosaur is T-Rex

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince George’s favourite dinosaur is T-Rex because he’s the “noisiest”.
The Duchess of Cambridge attended an event at London’s Natural History Museum on Tuesday (22.11.16), where she talked about her son’s obsession with the extinct animals and admitted he probably likes the genus of coelurosaurian theropod best because it is the “scariest”.
Speaking to young children at the event, she said: “Does anyone like T-Rex?
“The boys probably … George likes T-Rex. I think probably because it’s the noisiest and scariest. George absolutely loves dinosaurs.”
The three-year-old royal – the son of Prince William – is known as being a massive dinosaur fan and visits the museum with his parents and his 18-month old sister Princess Charlotte all the time.

Meghan Markle's sister compares her to Princess Diana

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle’s half-sister says the actress has the “grace” of Princess Diana.
Samantha Grant – who shares the same father as Meghan – has spoken about how similar the ‘Suits’ star is to her boyfriend Prince Harry’s late mother as she shares her “giving” and “peaceful” qualities and is not a “partier”.
She told Entertainment Tonight: “She’s got the eloquence of Condoleezza Rice, and the grace of Princess Diana.”
“She’s not wild, she’s not garish, she’s not a partier.
“She’s just very beautiful and conservative, very real, very giving. She’s just a peaceful person.”
Diana – who tragically passed away in a car crash in Paris in August 1997 aged just 36 – was known for her charitable nature and her humanitarian work, just like Meghan who was recently in Rwanda in Eastern Africa at the Gihembe refugee camp for UN Women.
The 35-year-old beauty, who has been dating the 32-year-old royal for six months, recently admitted she has found it “challenging” juggling fame with her philanthropy work.
Speaking about being asked to attend the BAFTAS in London in an essay penned for Elle UK magazine, she wrote: “My brain, heart and spirit couldn’t shift gears that quickly, from the purpose-driven work I had been doing all week in Rwanda to the polished glamour of an awards show. ‘No,’ my heart said. And it wasn’t a soft whisper; it was a lion’s roar …
“And in that moment, my gut said no because while my two worlds can coexist, I’ve learned that being able to keep a foot in both is a delicate balance. No, they are not mutually exclusive but guiding my heart through the swinging pendulum from Hollywood fantasy to third-world reality is challenging in its own way.”

Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel love Pokémon GO

OHMYGOSSIP — Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are obsessed with ‘Pokémon GO’.
The Swedish royals are big fans of the mobile game and would like to see their children – four-year-old Princess Estelle and eight-month-old Prince Oscar – playing it because it keeps them “active”.
Daniel, 43, who used to own his own gym, told Swedish newspaper the Aftonbladet: “Our hunting’s been out of control.
“It wasn’t that the children’s gaze never left the screen, but their backsides definitely left the couch.
“I really wanted to understand [‘Pokémon GO’] and check it out.
“People sometimes criticise the game, but it does get kids active and moving.”
The couple came to discover the Nintendo game after several gamers appeared in the grounds of Solider Palace in Sweden, where the family spend the summer months, looking for Pokémon.
And it seems Estelle is getting on better with her baby brother as she was “disappointed” when she met him for the first time.
She was upset that he had his eyes closed when she went to visit him at the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm.
Urban Ahlin, the Swedish parliamentarian told Svenskedam: “Princess Estelle was incredibly proud and excited about her new brother but she was a little disappointed that he had his eyes closed all the time, and couldn’t see the drawings she had made.”

The Duchess of York has opened up about her 28-year-old daughter and her ex Dave Clark ending their 10-year relationship and how she has been leading a “fun” life as a singleton ever since.
She told The Australian Women’s Weekly: “It’s 10 years since she was 18 and they first got together, so now she’s living. It’s kind of fun. She called and said ”Now what do I do mum?’. She’s never been dating. But I’m happy for her that she’s starting a new journey.”
The British royal is said to have called time on their relationship following make-or-break talks over whether they should get married.
At the time, a source explained: “After ten years together, Beatrice and Dave had to wonder why they were not married.

Beatrice is reported to have been disappointed that Dave never asked her to marry him after she moved to the US to be with him.
Sarah, 57, was said to be shocked by the news at first.
An insider said: “Sarah considers Dave to be part of the family. She is very sad it didn’t work out. They have been together longer than many marriages last.”

Prince Harry invited to Antigua for future honeymoon

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry was left red-faced when he was invited to Antigua for his future honeymoon.
The 32-year-old royal attended a VIP bash at the official residence of the Queen’s representative, the Governor General, on Monday night (21.11.16) and in front of 300 guests the country’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne asked him if he’d like to visit with his girlfriend Meghan Markle and spend their wedding holiday in the West Indies should they tie the knot.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Browne told the crowd: “I believe we are expecting a new princess soon.
“I want you to know that you are very welcome to come on your honeymoon here.”
As the flame-haired prince remained silent, Browne added: “Whatever is done here, stays here. So do not worry.”
Harry was no doubt unimpressed with the political leader bringing up his girlfriend as the organisers of the Colours of Charity event were told not to talk about the ‘Suits’ actress.
Halo Foundation worker, Cuthbert Forbes, who helped put on the event, said: “We were told not to talk about it.
“It came up at an organising committee meeting when we were thinking about what we could talk to him about and one of the core members of the committee said we shouldn’t talk about his girlfriend because it is personal.”
It comes following Harry’s statement saying he was “disappointed” he hasn’t been able to protect Meghan from the online trolls she has faced since the couple’s romance was made public.
The statement released by Kensington Palace read: “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment. Some of this has been very public … the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.
“Prince Harry is worried about Ms Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game – it is her life and his.”

Meghan Markle doesn't want to be a 'lady who lunches'

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle doesn’t want to be a “lady who lunches”.
The 35-year-old actress has opened up about the increased spotlight put on her since it was confirmed she is dating Prince Harry and how she wants to “inspire” others and “advocate”.
In an essay for Elle UK magazine, she wrote: “With fame comes opportunity, but it also includes responsibility – to advocate and share, to focus less on glass slippers and more on pushing through glass ceilings. And, if I’m lucky enough, to inspire.”
The ‘Suits’ star – who has been dating the flame-haired royal for six months – has been inspired to influence change through her star status ever since she attended an International Women’s Day event in March.
She continued: “When I gave a speech for International Women’s Day, and Ban Ki-moon led the standing ovation, I thought, ‘This right here is the point.’
“To use whatever status I have as an actress to make a tangible impact. I’ve never wanted to be a lady who lunches; I’ve always wanted to be a woman who works. And this type of work is what feeds my soul. The degree to which I can do that both on and off camera is a direct perk of my job.”
Harry recently hit out at online trolls who had attacked his girlfriend on social media following speculation they were dating.
A statement released by Kensington Palace read: “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment. Some of this has been very public … the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.

William, who is a patron of Centrepoint, said: “Ending youth homelessness not just about putting a roof over someone’s head.
“It’s about teaching a young person to read and write.
“It’s about helping them to live with the consequences of abuse and neglect. It’s about stopping people becoming homeless in the first place.
“As a society, we will have a duty to help out most vulnerable young people.”
He added: “You have the chance to save young lives.
“Over the past decade, I have met hundreds of courageous and inspiring young people trying to escape homelessness.
“Unfortunately, their courage alone is not enough.”
Together with the help of the Duke of Cambridge and the British people Centrepoint will be able to use the Centrepoint Young and Homeless Helpline to combat homelessness.
William added: “When a young person’s world falls apart, they have nowhere to go.
“This is why we are launching this Helpline in 2017.
Centrepoint Helpline will provide the information and support that vulnerable young people need before they become homeless.”

However, according to insiders, the 90-year-old monarch will only send out the invitation to the newly-elected President of the United States of America and his wife, “once he is sworn in as president on January 20.”
If it goes ahead, it would be one of the 70-year-old Republican’s first trips abroad as president.
It’s reported that two ministers and a senior official from Downing Street has confirmed there are to be talks of Trump visiting in June or July, 2017.
A source has told Britain’s The Times newspaper, that Downing Street the Prime Minister Theresa May’s office have confirmed Trump will visit the UK next year.
The insider said: “Discussions between British officials and Trump’s team are expected to begin soon to ensure that a date can be agreed for June or July next year.
“The Queen will also send an official congratulatory message to the president to mark the inauguration.”
It’s also reported that Trump has discussed a visit to the UK to see Queen Elizabeth with the head of UKIP Nigel Farage and that his mother was a big fan of the monarch.
A member of Farage’s team told the newspaper: “He’s looking forward to it.
“He’s a massive Anglophile. He was really, really keen. His late mother, Mary, [who was born in Scotland] loved the Queen. He said, ‘I’m going to meet her, too. I can’t wait to come over to England. My mother would be chuffed to bits when I meet the Queen.'”

Prince Harry's first engagement in Caribbean

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry marked the start of his visit to the Caribbean by reading out a message on behalf of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
The 32-year-old royal attended Antigua’s Clarence House, where he was welcomed by Governor General Sir Rodney Williams on Sunday night (20.11.16).
The flame-haired hunk’s grandparents celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on the same day and Harry read out a touching tribute to the people of Antigua and Barbuda from the royal couple, in which they recall their visits to the West Indies over the years.
He read: “Prince Philip and I send our warmest wishes to Antigua and Barbuda on the occasion of this celebration to mark 35 years of independence.
“I have fond memories of visiting your country in 1966, 1977 during the Silver Jubilee and again in1985.
“I will never forget the warmth of your people and the incredible natural beauty of the islands. It has been a great privilege for me to watch Antigua and Barbuda develop into the confident country it is today with a strong national identity and a positive outlook.
“I congratulate all of you for the part you have played in building this community and creating so many opportunities for the next generation.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to visit Australia?

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle will reportedly join Prince Harry in Sydney for the 2018 Invictus Games.
The ‘Suits’ actress has just wrapped up filming for season six of the American drama so has a free schedule and could be set to join the flame-haired hunk in Australia.
According to Yahoo! Australia a source said: “Harry is already talking marriage and babies with Meghan – of course she’ll visit Australia with him.”
The brunette beauty confirmed she had finished filming on Twitter on Sunday (20.11.16).
Alongside her breakfast, she wrote: “We wrapped seas 6 of #suits at 5.30am today! Breakfast! (Let’s call this a frittata/scramble/shakshuka hybrid). Happy Sunday, friends! Xx (sic)”
It comes following reports that Harry is considering personally funding a security guard to protect his girlfriend.
The 32-year-old royal has grown concerned about the star’s safety since they started dating in recent months, and as a result he is said to be thinking about splashing out on a retired Scotland Yard Personal Protection Officer to look after her when she visits the UK.
A senior inside security source said: “There have been initial discussions about this matter.
“HRH has made it clear that he believes Miss Markle’s personal safety is paramount and that the behaviour of some elements of the media and press has been grossly unacceptable.
“But in the end it comes down to a matter of cost, who is paying for what. Protecting the Royal Family is a hugely expensive business.”
Harry’s late mother Princess Diana’s former personal protection officer, Inspector Ken Wharfe, admitted it is “extremely unlikely” the Metropolitan Police headquarters would fork out for security for the 35-year-old beauty, but insisted it would be “sensible” for Harry to pay for protection for her.
He said “It is extremely unlikely that Scotland Yard would fund protection for Miss Markle at this stage.
“In America and Canada where she lives she is well used to the attention she gets as a star actress.
“Should, however, Prince Harry fund a retired, and therefore unarmed, ex S014 officer to accompany her whilst in the UK I think it would be a sensible move.”

Speaking on ITV’s ‘Peston Show’, Labour shadow business secretary, Clive Lewis said: “I think the Queen could contribute quite a bit towards that – she’s one of the wealthiest people in the country. Why not?”
Meanwhile, Royal finances expert David McLure has said he feels Elizabeth should dig into the funds she receives from the Duchy of Lancaster’s Estate.
As the Sovereign, she is expected to rake in £17.8 million next April.
He said: “No-one is saying there isn’t an enormous backlog of palace repairs.
“But given the pressure on the public purse at the moment I would have thought they could do it bit by bit out of the existing grant they receive.
“The other option is that The Queen could dip into the money she receives from the Duchy of Lancaster and contribute a few million pounds.
“Yes it’s not a private residence, but as a gesture she could do that.”
