Meghan Markle is 'one of a kind'

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle is “one of a kind”, according to her half-brother.
Tom Markle Jr. has told Prince Harry he should consider himself extremely luck to be romancing the ‘Suits’ actress, insisting the British royal could not have found himself a better woman.
He gushed: “Prince Harry, you are a really lucky guy to have her. She is 110 percent. She is just one of a kind and you could not ask for a better woman.”
Tom – who shares the same father as the actress but a different mother – also apologised to his half-sister for his arrest in January, which came after a heated argument between himself and his girlfriend.
Tom insisted he did not wish to cause Meghan any embarrassment and hopes that the incident did not damage her relationship with the prince.
He told Inside Edition: “I am really sorry if this affected your relationship at all. I would feel horrible and that would just not be right.”
Tom refused to reveal too many details of the dramatic incident, but denied the allegation he put a gun to his girlfriend’s head.
He explained: “There was a gun there; there was a gun there in the house. My attorney [said] I can’t really get into it.”
Last month, meanwhile, Tom said marriage and children are “on the cards” for his half-sister and Prince Harry.
He revealed, too, that he would be desperately keen to attend their wedding and would hope to receive any invite, despite his recent troubles.
Tom said: “Marriage and kids is on the cards for Meghan and Harry and I still want to go to the wedding if they’ll let me.
“Of course I want to go to London and Buckingham Palace.
“Their relationship has been going from strength to strength and this drama is the last thing I wanted to happen. I want to tell Meghan I am truly sorry from the bottom of my heart.”

Royal duo visit Hull to mark City of Culture status

OHMYGOSSIP — The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall have visited Hull to mark its UK City of Culture status.
The royal couple visited a number of community-based projects on Wednesday (08.02.17), including Ferens Art Gallery, where they met the staff who have worked on the recent refurbishment, which cost £5.2 million.
As part of their packed itinerary, the Prince and his wife were introduced to members of the City of Culture team, including the chairwoman Rosie Millard and Martin Green, a director.
Subsequently, the Prince visited the city’s Holy Trinity Church, while his wife greeted volunteers at the homeless charity Emmaus Hull and East Riding.
Thereafter, the Prince paid a visit to the Royal Shakespeare Company’s outreach programme, where he took the time to watch rehearsals of ‘The Hypocrite’.
The Duchess, on the other hand, presented a series of awards to five young winners of Hull’s 100-word writing competition, which was organised by the literacy charity First Story at The Deep.
The royal visit came shortly after Prince Charles and his 69-year-old wife attended a dinner for supporters of the British Asian Trust.
The duo joined 450 guests at a reception in central London earlier this month in support of the charity, which aims to transform lives by investing in making an impact on poverty in South Asia and the UK.
The dinner was also attended by a host of famous faces from the worlds of entertainment, politics, business, and sport, including actor Hugh Bonneville, DJ Naughty Boy and entrepreneur Michelle Mone.
Prince Charles and a group of Asian business leaders set up the British Asian Trust in 2007 to take action against widespread poverty and hardship in South Asia.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are 'inseparable'

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been “inseparable” since the start of 2017.
The 32-year-old royal has been dating the ‘Suits’ actress since the mid-point of last year and while they have remained tight-lipped about their burgeoning romance, the duo are reported to have already settled into a rhythm.
A source said: “They are really just enjoying spending time together.”
And even though the couple have been dating for less than a year, their relationship feels “easy” and is progressing at a healthy pace.
Another source told People: “It just feels very natural for them both. It feels easy – like they’ve known each other for a long time.”
Meanwhile, Meghan’s ‘Suits’ co-star Patrick J. Adams recently gave her romance with Prince Harry his seal of approval.
The 35-year-old actor – who plays Meghan’s on-screen fiancé Mike Ross in ‘Suits’ – is “super excited” for his co-star, but hopes the “madness” of dating a royal passes soon.
He said: “I’m super excited for her. As you can imagine, it is a massive deal, obviously, if you hadn’t noticed. I didn’t wanna get involved. I just wanted to say, ‘I love you, I support you, I hope you’re happy. You seem really happy’. And if she ever needed anybody to talk to in the madness – because it is madness, it’s madness what the world puts somebody through when they’re going through this process.
“But if there’s anyone in the world who is designed to be able to deal with it and deal with it professionally, it’s Meghan Markle. I’m just super excited for her and I hope that all of the whatever, whatever, I don’t even know what it is, but all of the madness passes at some point and they can just get down to the business of enjoying each other’s company and hopefully not have to worry about this. But I guess being in this situation, it probably goes on forever.”

Royal trio among Britain's most popular third wheel couples

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry have been named among Britain’s most popular third wheel couples.
The royals have been placed second on a list of the country’s ultimate third wheel couples in a poll conducted by Deliveroo, after research revealed 54 percent of Brits would be happy to act as the third person on dinner date with a couple on Valentine’s Day (14.02.17).
However, the royals were beaten to top spot by Simon Cowell, Lauren Silverman and Sinitta, who dated the music mogul in the 1980s and has since remained on good terms with him.
Kate Thomas of Deliveroo said: “Valentine’s Day is all about love, so it’s great to see so many people comfortable with being a third wheel with their coupled-up loved ones this Valentine’s.”
Other big-name trios to feature on the list include Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Kris Jenner, as well as Jay Z, Beyonce and Kanye West.
More surprising, perhaps, is the inclusion of the former ‘Top Gear’ presenting trio Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, who recently reunited to make ‘The Grand Tour’ for Amazon Video.
Most imaginative of all, though, is the fictional group of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, who were created by best-selling author J. K. Rowling.
Meanwhile, further research revealed that three royal couples also featured among the top ten duos Brits most want to third wheel.
Although the list was topped by David and Victoria Beckham, Prince William and the Duchess came in third, while Prince Philip and the Queen and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle came in fourth and seventh respectively.
Other celebrity couples to feature among the top ten include Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, and Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West.
Deliveroo have launched a series of third wheel food bundles from over 150 restaurants across the UK with bundle meals available from 9 February.

Sinitta: Princess Diana had a 'delicious sense of humour'

OHMYGOSSIP — Sinitta says the late Princess Diana had “the most delicious sense of humour.”
The 53-year-old singer first met the late royal – who tragically died in a fatal car crash in Paris in 1997 at just 36 years old – at the luxury health and fitness club The Harbour Club in London, and has said the pair were often referred to as a “double act” by other club members.
Speaking to Hello magazine ahead of the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death – which will be marked in August this year – the ‘So Macho’ hitmaker said: “We made friends at the Harbour Club and shared the same personal trainer. What Diana and I had most in common were the same friends in the club. Both of us were also ballet trained, so we would always have a chat on our own on the mats in the stretching area.
“Our friend Christopher Whalley used to call us Ebony and Ivory, as if we were a little double act! Diana was extremely fit, more fit than her fragile frame would have you imagine.
“I also used to like to tell her the gym gossip and make her giggle – we had nicknames for a lot of the regulars. She had the most delicious sense of humour!”
Now, the ‘Toy Boy’ singer is an ambassador for the Diana Award, a charity which was established in the late Princess’ name in 1999 to support young people’s ability to change the world.
This year, the Diana Award will honour the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death by launching a number of initiatives throughout the year aimed at promoting the late Princess’ qualities of kindness and compassion.
Princess Diana’s two sons, Prince William, 34, and Prince Harry, 32, are also expected to take part in a selected number of the planned events, which will include a National Kindness Day – where people are encouraged to do something nice for the sake of another – in March.

Audrey Eustace: Princess Diana was just a 'normal' person

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana was a “normal” person, says Champneys beauty therapist Audrey Eustace.
The late royal – who tragically died following a fatal car crash in France in 1997 when she was just 36 years old – has been dubbed as “lovely” and “different” to the other celebrities who visited the four-star Champneys Tring spa hotel because she just wanted to be treated like any other guest.
Audrey Eustace, a beauty therapist who worked at the resort during Diana’s visits, said: “I remember meeting Princess Diana in 1985 as if it was yesterday. She was so lovely; there was no fuss, she was so normal.
“Over the years at Champneys I’ve lost count of the number of A-list celebrities. When one royal stayed here, people were instructed to bow. Princess Diana was so different.
“When she came here, she stayed in room 19. She would just wander about in a dressing gown and slippers and was happy to sit in the Jacuzzi with other guests and chat away.”
And Audrey also praised the royal – who had two sons Prince William, 34, and Prince Harry, 32, with her ex-husband Prince Charles – for having “incredible skin” which didn’t require the treatments on offer at the spa.
She added to Hello magazine ahead of the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death, which will be marked in August this year: “She was so beautiful and had incredible skin, there was very little treatment required. I think she just enjoyed coming and relaxing.”
Despite appearing chatty with other spa-goers, a previously never-before-seen letter – which was uncovered last month – has revealed the late royal felt “continuously misunderstood” by those around her.
Part of the letter – which was written by Princess Diana to her close friend Dudley Poplak in 1991 – reads: “I do feel extremely isolated more than ever now, as I see what’s coming to this country and this family.
“I feel that you believe in me, Dudley, and you’ve no idea what this means to me as I am continuously misunderstood by those around me.”

Duchess Camilla visits Sussex art exhibition

OHMYGOSSIP — Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has visited an exhibition celebrating the artistic heritage of Sussex.
The 69-year-old royal visited Two Temple Place in Sussex on Tuesday (07.02.17) where she attended the exhibition entitled ‘Sussex Modernism: Retreat and Rebellion’, which celebrated the modern artistic heritage surrounding the English county.
Whilst there, Duchess Camilla was spotted admiring the Mae West Lips Sofa – a modern piece of furniture made into the shape of a pair of lips – which was created in 1938 by famous artist Salvador Dali and collector Edward James.
The exhibition – which is free to view – also features the work of artists such as Henry Moore and Vanessa Bell, and aims to examine why so many artists and writers were seemingly drawn to Sussex to create their works in the first half of the 20th century.
Duchess Camilla also met with Nathaniel Hepburn – who is the director of the Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft – who outlined the “impact” of the county on the artists of the “surrealist movement”.
He said after meeting with Camilla: “It’s great for the people to know the impact that Sussex has had on the surrealist movement – I didn’t know the extent of it, it inspired so many artists.
“It is where many of the radical innovations were happening in British art.
“From the craft community in Ditchling, the post-impressionist influence in Bloomsbury at Charleston, through to surrealism and 1930s socialism – all was happening within a few miles of each other along this coast in Sussex.”
During her visit, Duchess Camilla – who is the wife of Prince Charles – tried her hand at the Japanese art of origami along with a group of school children from Ditchling primary school who were on a school trip to the exhibition.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, Camilla sat down with the children an attempted to make a paper tulip under the guiding instructions of storyteller Josh Gaillemin.

Prince William: We need to 'speak about' mental health

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has urged people to “speak about” their mental health.
The 34-year-old royal – who along with his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and his brother Prince Harry spearheads the Heads Together campaign to end the stigma surrounding mental health – has said “we all” face struggles with mental health at some stage in life, and has urged people to start speaking about the “taboo” subject in an effort to change the way it is talked about in national conversation.
Speaking at the Guild of Health Writers conference in London, Prince William said: “Mental health was the great taboo. If you were anxious, it’s because you were weak. If you couldn’t cope with whatever life threw at you, it’s because you were failing. Successful, strong people don’t suffer like that, do they? But of course – we all do. It’s just that few of us speak about it.”
And Prince William isn’t the only royal to have spoken about these issues either, as his wife Duchess Catherine – with whom he shares three-year-old Prince George and 21-month-old Princess Charlotte – recently made an appearance at Mitchell Brook primary school in London to speak about how mental health affects young people.
She said: “People often ask me why I am so interested in the mental health of children and young people.
“The answer is quite simple – it is because I think that every child should have the best possible start in life.
“When I was growing up I was very lucky. My family was the most important thing to me.
“They provided me with somewhere safe to grow and learn, and I know I was fortunate not to have been confronted by serious adversity at a young age.”
Duchess Catherine also insisted she would teach her two children the value of “kindness, respect, and honesty”.
She added: “My parents taught me about the importance of qualities like kindness, respect, and honesty, and I realise how central values like these have been to me throughout my life.
“That is why William and I want to teach our little children George and Charlotte just how important these things are as they grow up.
“In my view it is just as important as excelling at maths or sport.”

Dickie Arbiter: Princess Diana was 'a breath of fresh air'

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana was “a breath of fresh air” to the royal family, according to former Buckingham Palace press secretary Dickie Arbiter.
The 76-year-old radio commentator previously worked closely with the late royal – who tragically died in a car crash in France 1997 aged just 36 – and her ex-husband Prince Charles as their media manager, and has said she “gave a lot” to the members of the royal family.
Recalling a time when Princess Diana threw him a thoughtful birthday party, Dickie said: “She gave a lot to the royal family and we all called her a breath of fresh air.
“One of my favourite memories was when Diana threw a birthday party for my 50th at her apartment in Kensington Palace.
“My mother and wife were there, and my daughter and I sat either side of Diana. She pulled out all the stops with balloons, party poppers and champagne.
“Her chef made me a cake in the shape of a brick mobile telephone with the line: ‘You’re never alone when Dickie has got his phone.'”
And Dickie also recalled the first time he met the late royal, when she claimed the idea of getting married to Prince Charles – with whom she had two children Prince William, 34, and Prince Harry, 32 – was “daunting”.
He told Hello magazine ahead of the 20th anniversary since her death, which will be marked in August this year: “I first met Diana three days before her wedding day [in 1981] over a cup of tea in Buckingham Palace. My first impressions were she wasn’t this ‘shy Di’ at all, she was very forthcoming. When I asked how she viewed the day, she said ‘Daunting’, but she needn’t have had any fears – she played it very well.”

Princess Diana hailed as 'wonderful mother'

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana has been hailed as a “wonderful mother”.
The late royal – who had two sons, 34-year-old Prince William and 32-year-old Prince Harry – tragically lost her life in 1997 when she was involved in a fatal car crash in France at the age of 36, and has been remembered for her “passionate” charity work in the lead up to the 20th anniversary since her death, which will be marked in August this year.
Sandra Horley, the chief executive of domestic violence charity Refuge, told Hello magazine: “I first met Princess Diana in 1992. I had written to her asking for help, because our [women’s] refuge in Chiswick was in dire financial straits. She responded by making a personal donation and a series of private visits.
“I was struck by Diana’s passion. She was never one for formalities – she would much rather be sitting with the women we supported, chatting to them. If a child in the refuge was screaming, she would pick them up and comfort them.
“First and foremost, she was a wonderful mother.”
Meanwhile, Princess Diana’s sons have been following in their mother’s footsteps by continuing their devoted work to charity.
Prince Harry – who is currently dating American actress Meghan Markle – quit the armed forces in 2015 in order to “go where he is needed”.
A source said at the time: “He wants to go where he is needed, just as his mother did.
“He feels he can achieve something worthwhile rather than spend the next ten years sitting at a desk.”
Whilst Prince William – who has Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 21 months, with his 35-year-old wife Duchess Catherine – recently stepped down from the East Anglia Air Ambulance service in order to become a full-time royal.
Instead, sources claim Prince William will use his time to focus on issues that matter to him, such as tackling homelessness and raising awareness about mental health issues.

Queen Elizabeth won't part ways with old Barbour jacket

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth wouldn’t give up her old Barbour jacket, even when offered a brand new one for free.
Dame Margaret Barbour, the boss behind the luxury outdoor clothing brand, has revealed the 90-year-old monarch refused to part ways with her traditional wax jacket despite being offered a £300 replacement for absolutely nothing as a gift for her diamond jubilee in 2012.
The businesswoman explained that whilst the Queen “would accept” a new jacket, she also wanted to have her old jacket – which she is thought to have owned for 25 years – re-waxed.
Dame Margaret told UK radio station BBC Radio 4’s ‘Women’s Hour’: “It is very desirable to have a very well-worn Barbour jacket.
“[She] wanted her long Barbour jacket re-waxing and we said ‘We’d love to do this Ma’am’ – to her secretary of course.
“They said, ‘Yes, but Her Majesty does want her old one re-waxed’. She would accept a new one, but she wanted her old one back.”
And it isn’t the first foray into the world of fashion for the Queen either, as Luke Day recently revealed the monarch was the inspiration behind his collection for luxury brand MSGM.
He said: “I think the Queen is a rather majestic muse, especially subverting it to be used for men’s fashion inspiration. The TV show ‘The Crown’ has really put her at the forefront as our new TV obsession and reminded us what a style icon she is.
“Those images of her off duty driving a Range Rover are iconic now, as is her imitable style. The show was really fun to style, I loved turning the models into contemporary versions of her and giving it a sporty, youthful twist.”

Prince William: High suicide rates are 'an appalling stain on our society'

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has dubbed the high rate of suicide amongst young men in the UK as “an appalling stain on our society”.
The 34-year-old royal, along with his wife Duchess Catherine and his brother Prince Harry, has spearheaded the Heads Together campaign in order to work toward ending the stigma around mental health, and has now spoken out about the “hidden” threat of suicide which is the “biggest killer” of men under 40 in the UK.
Speaking to the Guild of Health Writers at a conference entitled ‘The Anxiety Epidemic’ on Monday (06.02.17), Prince William said: “You may be wondering why Catherine, Harry and I got involved in this topic in the first place. Mental health is traditionally not a mainstream subject, after all.
“For me personally, it was a gradual awakening over many years through work I’ve been privileged to witness with vulnerable young people – the homeless, the unemployed, those who are unable to fulfil their potential.
“But I got interested in mental health for another reason. One that was related to my work as an air ambulance pilot. It was suicide, a subject that is so often hidden.
“The suicide rate among young men in this country is an appalling stain on our society. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 40 in this country. Not cancer, not knife crime, not road deaths – suicide.”
The royal – who shares Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 21 months, with his 35-year-old wife – revealed he spoke to eight charities about the effects of mental health, urging sufferers to “talk” to someone.
He added at the conference: “At the moment, on average it takes a sufferer 10 years to admit to a problem. This means that what often starts as a fairly minor issue becomes something serious and medical after time.
“What these charities told us was that silence can kill, but talking can lead to help and support.”

Duchess Catherine: Teach children 'kindness'

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, believes it is important to teach children “kindness, respect, and honesty.”
The 35-year-old royal – who has two children, Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 21 months, with her husband Prince William – has said she believes teaching children these core values is “just as important” as educating them in “maths or sport”, and has vowed to instil these views in her own children.
Speaking at ‘The Big Assembly’ event at Mitchell Brook primary school in London on Monday (06.02.17), Duchess Catherine said: “My parents taught me about the importance of qualities like kindness, respect, and honesty, and I realise how central values like these have been to me throughout my life.
“That is why William and I want to teach our little children George and Charlotte just how important these things are as they grow up.
“In my view it is just as important as excelling at maths or sport.”
‘The Big Assembly’ event is an initiative run by children’s mental health charity Place2Be -for which Duchess Catherine is the Royal Patron – as part of Children’s Mental Health Week which runs from February 6 to February 12.
Duchess Catherine also opened up about why mental health is an area she works so closely with, and said she believes “every child should have the best possible start in life.”
She added to audiences at the assembly: “People often ask me why I am so interested in the mental health of children and young people.
“The answer is quite simple – it is because I think that every child should have the best possible start in life.

Andrew Morton: Princess Diana 'truly cared'

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Morton has dubbed the late Princess Diana as a “humanitarian who truly cared”.
The 63-year-old journalist and author is known for writing the controversial biography ‘Diana: Her True Story’ in 1992 which explored her version of royal life with her then husband Prince Charles, and has now praised the blonde beauty as “unique”.
He said: “Diana was a unique blend of humanitarian who truly cared, and global celebrity who was able to dust her charitable causes with stardust.”
Andrew also spoke about the late Princess’ “self-deprecating sense of humour”, and said Diana – who was fatally injured in a car crash in France in 1997 – often struggled with royal life and made “desperate cries for help” during the first years of her marriage.
He added: “One of her most endearing qualities was her self-deprecating sense of humour. I remember when she was secretly assisting me with her biography and she told me about the half-hearted suicide attempt – or rather desperate cries for help – which she had made during what she called ‘the dark ages’ – the early part of her royal life where she felt lost and alone.”
And the writer reflected on one particular moment when he asked Princess Diana – who was the mother of Prince William, 34, and Prince Harry, 32 – about her “sad incidents”.
He told Hello magazine ahead of the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death this August: “For the biography I was asking her questions via an intermediary [Diana would then tape her answers] and I gave him a long list of questions about these sad incidents. She took one look at them and quipped: ‘He’s pretty well written my obituary, hasn’t he?'”

Prince William, Prince Harry, and Duchess Catherine race for charity

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William, Prince Harry, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, have taken part in a relay race for charity.
The royal trio went head to head in the first 50 metres of a relay race set up by their charity campaign Heads Together – which aims to end the stigma surrounding mental health – when they visited the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London on Sunday (05.02.17).
According to the Daily Express newspaper, 34-year-old Prince William joked that he had a hamstring injury shortly before the race began, but still managed to come in second place behind his younger brother Prince Harry, 32.
Duchess Catherine, 35, may have come in third place but there were no hard feelings as she hugged her husband William – with whom she shares three-year-old Prince George and 21-month-old Princess Charlotte – at the finish line.
The event was being held by the charity to support those training for the upcoming London Marathon, for which Heads Together is the Charity of the Year.
Previously, the campaign said it believes the honour is the “perfect springboard” to take them closer to their goal of changing the way mental health is discussed in national conversation.
Writing on their website, the charity said: “Being the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon Charity of the Year is the perfect springboard for the Heads Together campaign.
“We cannot wait to see hundreds of runners hitting the streets of London in April to end the stigma and change the conversation on mental health once and for all.”
This year’s London Marathon will take place on April 23 2017.
