The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge want extra 'privacy and security' for their children

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge want extra “privacy and security” for their children when they move to London.
Prince William and his wife Catherine have three-year-old son Prince George of Cambridge and 21-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte of Cambridge are reportedly set to relocate from their Anmer Hall residence in Norfolk to England’s capital, but they are putting in place a number of safeguarding plans, including planting conifer trees alongside Kensington Palace, to shield their brood from prying eyes.
According to Hello! Magazine website the royal couple want the trees, which are known to grow taller than 40 feet high, to act as an additional barrier along the western side of their residence Apartment 1A in a bid to block out anyone walking along the private road from trying to peer in.
And it has been reported Kensington Palace has warned photographers against taking images of the estate and trying to steal a shoot of the royal family at home.
They said: “The warm-hearted and understandable interest in the royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge needs to be balanced with their right to a private family life. This is especially important for a family with very young children.”
It was reported last month the family were set to up sticks and re-locate after the 34-year-old royal quit his job as a pilot at East Anglian Air Ambulance so he had more time to fulfil his royal duties, and in time for their oldest child to start school later this year.
And it is believed George will be attending a school near to their Chelsea home.

Cressida Bonas: I was 'put in a box' after Prince Harry romance

OHMYGOSSIP — Cressida Bonas says people “put her in a box” after her relationship with Prince Harry.
The 27-year-old beauty – who dated the 32-year-old royal for two years until their split in 2014 – will make her big screen debut in ‘Tulip Fever’ later this year after having starred as Daisy Buchannan in the West End production of ‘The Great Gatsby’, and has hinted her royal relationship is to blame for her struggle to break through as an actress.
She said: “I think everyone has put me in a box because I was with you know who.
“It’s frustrating because I work really hard. I wish more people had seen my performance in ‘The Great Gatsby’.”
Now, Cressida keeps herself busy between acting jobs by designing her own fashion range.
She added to the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “I’m hoping to design a range but I’m still working out what I want it to look like.”
Meanwhile, it was previously claimed that Cressida called time on her romance with Prince Harry – who is now in a relationship with 35-year-old ‘Suits’ actress Meghan Markle – because she “couldn’t take” the public scrutiny that came with it.
Ingrid Seward, who has written several books about the royal family, said: “A friend of mine’s daughter went out with Prince Harry, Cressie, the most gorgeous girl, she just said it was awful because every time she walked down the street she could hear people criticising her.
“They would whip out their phones and take photos of her. They’d say, ‘Oh look at her hair’, ‘Oh look at her clothes, look at her boots, she hasn’t got her laces done up’.
“I mean this is just a normal, pretty girl and she just couldn’t take it. She just thought, ‘Why are they getting at me?’.”

Princess Eugenie's family 'refusing' to pay for repairs to Kensington Palace residence

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Eugenie is unable to move into Ivy Cottage as her family are “refusing” to pay for repairs to the residence’s damp problem.
The 26-year-old royal was hoping to move into the cottage – which is located on the grounds of Kensington Palace – at the end of last year with her boyfriend of six years Jack Brooksbank, but plans have been put on hold after damp which would cost “thousands of pounds” to treat was discovered in the basement of the three-bedroom property.
A source said: “Eugenie’s family don’t want to pay for the repairs because they don’t own the building but the powers-that-be are refusing to come up with the cash as well.
“At the moment it’s a stand-off and the whole thing is in limbo.
“The problem is that normally repair work would be done to several properties at once to keep costs down but there are no plans for neighbouring buildings at the moment.
“It’s true to say there have been some heated discussions with certain individuals digging their heels in, but so far there has been little give and take. Something will have to give soon if Eugenie and Jack are to move in quickly.”
Princess Eugenie – who is the daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson – is said to be “upset” by the delays as she is reportedly hoping to make “wedding plans” within her new home.
The source added to the Daily Express newspaper: “Eugenie is obviously a bit upset as she was hoping to be making wedding plans by now.
“She was really looking forward to moving in and creating a warm and welcoming home, but it seems she will just have to be patient until this is resolved.”

Meghan Markle returns to Instagram

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle has returned to Instagram.
The 35-year-old actress – who is currently in a relationship with Prince Harry – made her first post in two months on Sunday (12.02.17) when she posted a picture of her feet next to the painted phrase “#NOBADENERGY”.
She captioned the photo: “Sending good vibes – always in all ways #nobadenergy #bethechange (sic)”
The ‘Suits’ actress has been keeping herself busy during her hiatus from the picture sharing website, not least on a number of dates with her 32-year-old boyfriend, whom she has been dating for around eight months.
Although there are no snaps of the happy couple on her Instagram feed, a source recently claimed the pair were “really enjoying” spending time together.
The insider said: “An engagement is certainly one possible outcome … They are really just enjoying spending time together.
“It just feels very natural for them both. It feels easy – like they’ve known each other for a long time.”
Meanwhile, Meghan’s ‘Suits’ co-star Patrick J. Adams has given the romance his seal of approval.
He said: “I’m super excited for her. As you can imagine, it is a massive deal, obviously, if you hadn’t noticed. I didn’t wanna get involved. I just wanted to say, ‘I love you, I support you, I hope you’re happy. You seem really happy’. And if she ever needed anybody to talk to in the madness – because it is madness, it’s madness what the world puts somebody through when they’re going through this process.
“But if there’s anyone in the world who is designed to be able to deal with it and deal with it professionally, it’s Meghan Markle. I’m just super excited for her and I hope that all of the whatever, whatever, I don’t even know what it is, but all of the madness passes at some point and they can just get down to the business of enjoying each other’s company and hopefully not have to worry about this. But I guess being in this situation, it probably goes on forever.”

Queen Elizabeth eats bananas with knife and fork

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth eats bananas with a knife and fork, according to her former footman.
Paul Burrell worked as a footman for the 90-year-old royal before he became the butler for the late Princess Diana, and used his recent appearance on UK game show ‘Through The Keyhole’ – in which host Keith Lemon visits the home of a celebrity and a panel of guests must decipher whose home it is – to show audiences how the Queen reportedly eats the potassium-rich fruit.
He said on the show: “It’s knowing how to hold a knife and fork to begin with, you never see the handles.
“To eat a banana properly in society or at a dinner party…this is how the Queen does it.
“You split open the belly, some people eat it like a monkey of course…
“Now you cut it up into small bite-size pieces and then you eat it…with your knife and fork.”
And it isn’t just bananas that the Queen likes to indulge in, as her former chef Darren McGrady revealed she is a “chocoholic”.
He said previously: “The Queen loves chocolate. She’s a chocoholic. I think for Her Majesty it’s about small portions. She’s very disciplined. So a tiny piece of chocolate cake and then back to the kitchen.
“The chocolate biscuit cake goes out again and again and again until it’s all gone. It’s the Queen’s favourite but also William’s favourite too. The Queen would take a mental picture of the chocolate cake and if any of it was gone, she’d actually ask, ‘Who’s been eating the chocolate biscuit cake?'”
But one food substance the monarch won’t be seen eating, is garlic.
Darren said: “One of the things we couldn’t use on the menu was garlic. The Queen doesn’t like garlic. It’s an old Victorian thing, the after-taste of the garlic.
“We never used garlic when the Queen was at the table. But Prince Philip loved it, so when the Queen wasn’t there we could use it.”

Prince William: We need to 'smash the stigma around mental health'

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has vowed to “smash the stigma around mental health.”
The 34-year-old royal – along with his brother Prince Harry and wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge – spearheads the mental health charity Heads Together, and has claimed it is “vital” to talk about the stigma surrounding mental health in order to make it “easier to deal with.”
Prince William said: “It’s absolutely vital. We need to get people talking to generate those conversations that make the subject easier to deal with. Families talking to each other is a great way of normalising the conversation.
“We need to smash the stigma around mental health and this is one way to do that.”
The royal – who has Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 21 months, with his 35-year-old wife – also claimed “intervention is key” to helping tackle mental health problems, and praised health writers for their “important” work in raising awareness.
He added: “I and Kate believe early intervention is key. We need to offer a way of facing up to issues early on.
“The work you guys do is important. Health journalists have a major role to play.”
Prince William says he was inspired to try and make a difference in the way mental health is talked about after meeting vulnerable young people.
He continued to the Sunday Express newspaper: “It was their openness about their mental health, their anxiety issues, their honesty about not coping, that made me realise that poor mental health was a major issue in our society.”
Last week, Prince William spoke out against the high rate of suicide amongst young men in the UK, and dubbed it as “an appalling stain on our society.”
He said: “You may be wondering why Catherine, Harry and I got involved in this topic in the first place. Mental health is traditionally not a mainstream subject, after all.
“For me personally, it was a gradual awakening over many years through work I’ve been privileged to witness with vulnerable young people – the homeless, the unemployed, those who are unable to fulfil their potential.
“But I got interested in mental health for another reason. One that was related to my work as an air ambulance pilot. It was suicide, a subject that is so often hidden.
“The suicide rate among young men in this country is an appalling stain on our society. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 40 in this country. Not cancer, not knife crime, not road deaths – suicide.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'enjoying' each other's company

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “really enjoying” spending time together.
The flame-haired royal and the ‘Suits’ actress have been dating since last summer and their relationship is going from strength to strength.
A source told People magazine: “An engagement is certainly one possible outcome … They are really just enjoying spending time together.”
It comes after it was claimed the pair have been pretty “inseparable” since the beginning of the year.
An insider shared: “They are really just enjoying spending time together … It just feels very natural for them both. It feels easy – like they’ve known each other for a long time.”
And Meghan’s ‘Suits’ co-star Patrick J. Adams has given the romance his seal of approval.

Nigel Havers: Princess Diana was 'charming'

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana was always very “charming”.
Actor Nigel Havers struck up a close friendship with the late royal and the pair would regularly have tea together.
Speaking on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, he said: “She did come and have tea a couple of times … it was very much just tea. I was very, very good. No I wasn’t in love with her but I did adore her. Adored is different to in love.
“And also she was married to Prince Charles. He would have been really cross with me. What an incredibly bad thing to do. It was random but it was rather charming. I made a very good cup of tea. She’d say that life was difficult … she was keen to have a conversation with me, just saying hi, what was I up to and stuff like that.”
Meanwhile, singer and television personality Sinitta previously opened up about the Princess’ “most delicious sense of humour”.
The 53-year-old star said: “We made friends at the Harbour Club and shared the same personal trainer. What Diana and I had most in common were the same friends in the club. Both of us were also ballet trained, so we would always have a chat on our own on the mats in the stretching area.
“Our friend Christopher Whalley used to call us Ebony and Ivory, as if we were a little double act! Diana was extremely fit, more fit than her fragile frame would have you imagine.
“I also used to like to tell her the gym gossip and make her giggle – we had nicknames for a lot of the regulars. She had the most delicious sense of humour!”

Duchess Catherine to visit Action for Children projects

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine is set to visit Action for Children projects for the first time since she took over the patronage.
The 35-year-old royal will visit two Action for Children projects in Torfaen and Caerphilly in Wales to see first hand how the charity helps vulnerable young people in the UK.
Action for Children’s chief executive Sir Tony Hawkhead said: “We are thrilled to welcome Her Royal Highness back to Action for Children, now as our new Royal Patron, and introduce The Duchess to the specialised work we do with families in Torfaen and Caerphilly to develop emotional wellbeing in children and give them the confidence and self-belief to fulfil their potential.
“We are very grateful to Her Royal Highness for her continued interest in the vital work we do, not just in Wales, but at our 600 services across the UK. It is challenging work but our passionate and dedicated teams make a profound difference to the lives of those who need it most in our communities.”
The Duchess of Cambridge – who has Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 21 months, with her husband Prince William – will visit MIST, which is a mental health project that helps children living in care whilst the Duchess will also visit the Caerphilly Family Intervention Team (FIT), which supports children suffering from emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Duchess Catherine and Prince William are big supporters of raising awareness of mental health, with the 34-year-old royal recently urging people to “speak about” mental health.
He said: “Mental health was the great taboo. If you were anxious, it’s because you were weak. If you couldn’t cope with whatever life threw at you, it’s because you were failing. Successful, strong people don’t suffer like that, do they? But of course – we all do. It’s just that few of us speak about it.”

Prince Charles honoured for promoting human rights

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles has been honoured by the International Auschwitz Committee.
The 68-year-old royal was handed the Statue of Remembrance in recognition of his work to promote human rights and unity across all faiths and religions.
Christoph Heubner, the executive vice president of the International Auschwitz Committee, said: “The survivors of the Holocaust are deeply moved and profoundly impressed by the empathy that the Prince of Wales has repeatedly expressed over the years for their painful memories, and by his acute insight into the causes and consequences of the Holocaust. Prince Charles also speaks out very clearly in his determined efforts to inspire people to overcome the new hatred and age-old prejudices.”
The Prince of Wales hosted a reception at St. James’ Palace for a number of survivors of the Holocaust and their families as well as people who have lived through genocides in the likes of Cambodia and Bosnia.
Meanwhile, Prince Charles previously warned the “horrific lessons” of World War II were in “danger of being forgotten” as he attended a fundraiser for the World Jewish Relief.
He said: “The work of World Jewish Relief allows us to rally together to do what we can to support people practically, emotionally and spiritually, particularly at a time when the horrific lessons of the last war seem to be in increasing danger of being forgotten. In reaching beyond your own community you set an example for us all of true compassion and friendship.
“To meet Ben [Helfgott; Olympic champion and Holocaust survivor], and others who, like him, have endured indescribable persecution, is to be reminded of the danger of forgetting the lessons of the past … It is about supporting local communities with what they feel they need and not about imposing solutions from outside. World Jewish Relief shows us how vital it is to learn lessons from the horrors of the past.”

Prince Charles attends Prince's Trust fundraiser

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles was surrounded by celebrities as he attended a Prince’s Trust fundraiser on Thursday (09.02.17).
The 68-year-old royal happily chatted with the likes of Dame Joan Collins, Pixie Lott and Damian Lewis at the Invest in Futures fundraising event at London’s Savoy hotel.
The bash was also attended by actor Jeremy Irons and television personality and comedian Alexander Armstrong whilst Pixie brought along her mother and sister.
The Prince’s Trust was founded by the Prince of Wales in 1976 with the aim of supporting young people from the ages of 13 to 30 to find jobs or get into education and training.
Meanwhile, the Prince previously spoke of the importance of the Prince’s Trust as he collected the Londoner of the Decade award.
He said at the time: “I am most touched and, indeed, surprised, that the Evening Standard should have decided to give me the award of Londoner of the Decade. I have to confess I am not entirely sure whether to be pleased or alarmed. Perhaps I am losing my touch when such eminent newspapers start giving me achievement awards! So I set to wondering what this achievement might have been.”
Speaking about The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community – another charitable organisation he has put his name to, he added: “The most successful communities mix the private with affordable housing; enclose green spaces within squares and communal gardens; provide good quality housing integrated with walkable, mixed-use neighbourhoods; good public transport and an identity that fosters pride and a sense of belonging. It is these qualities which attract so many people to London and, time and again, this is the sort of development that various surveys reveal is what many people would prefer to see.”

Meghan Markle helps boost sales for London fashion brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle’s fashion choices are driving sales for a London brand.
The 35-year-old ‘Suits’ actress has become one of the most photographed women in the world since it was confirmed she is dating Prince Harry and it appears that, like the Duchess of Cambridge, Meghan’s accessory choices are helping to boost sales, with London jewellery brand Missom among the main beneficiaries.
After the actress was recently spotted wearing a distinctive set of rings, the London store quickly founds its phones ringing like never before.
In fact, Missoma saw a surge of 5,000 visitors to its website within hours of the photographs being published, strongly suggesting it was Meghan’s influence that led to the sudden spike in interest.
A spokesperson for the firm told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Meghan has been wearing Missoma for a few years now and has long been a fan of the brand.”
In addition to being snapped by paparazzi, Meghan has also been known to post shots of herself wearing the jewellery on her Instagram account.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s half-brother Tom Markle Jr. recently claimed marriage is “on the cards” for her and the British royal.
Tom apologised to the actress after he was arrested following an incident between himself and his girlfriend, but said he hoped he would still be invited to Meghan’s would-be wedding to the prince.
He said: “Marriage and kids is on the cards for Meghan and Harry and I still want to go to the wedding if they’ll let me.
“Of course I want to go to London and Buckingham Palace.
“Their relationship has been going from strength to strength and this drama is the last thing I wanted to happen. I want to tell Meghan I am truly sorry from the bottom of my heart.”
