No second series for Cheat

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Cheat’ won’t return for a second series.
Fans have been gripped by the thriller – which starred Katherine Kelly as lecturer Leah Dale and Molly Windsor as student Rose Vaughan – as it played out on ITV across four nights this week, but the station have confirmed there has been “no talk” of extending its success with another run of episodes in the future.
An ITV spokesperson told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Cheat was conceived as a self-contained four part drama.
“There’s been no talk of another season as it was only ever planned as a standalone series.”
The confirmation comes after Katherine previously admitted she didn’t think another series was likely.
Speaking about the possibility, she said: “It’s never even been mentioned.
“As you’ll see on Thursday night, we don’t hold anything back. So it would be the first I’ve ever heard of it.”
The 39-year-old actress previously insisted she wasn’t worried about the success of the show because she knows ratings are impossible to predict.
She said: “You can never predict the popularity of a show and I actually feel like it’s none of my business how well it does.”
The star – who played Becky McDonald on ‘Coronation Street’ for six years until 2012 – also shrugged off the idea that her role in the gritty drama could turn her into a sex symbol as she insisted she and her co-stars were “not interested” in the response to the programme.
She added: “We’re not interested for us as actors about how this is going to come out. We’re not thinking: ‘Yeah, I’m going to look really sexy in this.’ ”

Keira Knightley’s best sex scene was in Atonement

OHMYGOSSIP — Keira Knightley’s favourite sex scene was in ‘Atonement’.
The 33-year-old actress has done her fair share of stripping and acting out racy bedroom scenes during her career, but she has admitted the “best” X-rated moment was when she joined her co-star James McAvoy – who portrayed her character Cecilia Tallis’ lover Robbie Turner in the 2007 drama classic – for intimate scenes on top of a bookshelf.
Speaking to Vulture, she said: “The best sex scene I’ve done on-screen is the one in ‘Atonement’, on the bookshelf.
“It was both the best sex scene, but also [the best] to shoot.”
Keira – who was tasked with performing lesbian sex scenes in her recent film ‘Colette’ and also gets intimate in her latest period drama ‘The Aftermath’ – said that it was the director Joe Wright who made her ‘Atonement’ sex scene feel “comfortable” and not at all “exposed”, through his precise choreography.
Explaining that he “choreographed the scene within an inch of its life”, she added: “It was absolutely, ‘Foot goes up there, hand goes up there. So both me and James [McAvoy] felt utterly comfortable and not exposed, and like we could deal with it. It’s never gonna be fun, but we could deal with it.”
Keira also got ‘The Aftermath’ helmer James Kent to take control of her steamy scenes with Alexander Skarsgard the same as Joe.
She said: “What never helps is when a director goes, ‘Oh, you guys know what you’re doing.’
[And you’re like], ‘Uh, I’ve never met this person, I have no idea what I’m doing in this room full of men. “With sex scenes in particular, it always has to be choreographed like a dance.
“So with James [Kent], I was like, ‘You’re the director, you know what you want from this, so you have to just tell us. And everyone will feel comfortable.'”
And James learned a lot from Keira’s advice, and will now always approach sex scenes in the same way.
He added: “Keira asked me to narrate – [she said] otherwise, you’re too conscious that we’re doing it.
“But if you narrate, it takes the awkwardness out of it, it becomes technical.'”

Lauren Jauregui’s dog dies

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Jauregui’s dog has died.
The former Fifth Harmony singer’s beloved pooch Gracie was named Cutest Musician’s Pet at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday (14.03.19), but the 22-year-old star revealed her canine companion had tragically passed away earlier this week following a “freak accident”.
She revealed alongside a video of her pooch on Instagram: “Congratulations to my cutest, loveliest pet. Thank you to @iheartawards and to you, the incredible fans for loving Gracie as fiercely as we do.
“I say this with the heaviest heart you can imagine. Our angel was taken from us incredibly too soon a few days ago due to a freak accident that caused breathing complications we couldn’t fix. I can’t begin to express the heartache that we feel, nor the joy that this little being of light brought to my life for the short but beautifully abundant time we had together in this world.”
But the ‘Expectations’ singer believes the “essence” of Gracie will be with her forever.
She continued: “I will never forget the way she side eyed me on the regular, her golden, graceful, playful, sassy personality, her comforting delicious cuddles, the way she grunted and huffed whenever she was annoyed with me, the way she looked at me in the morning with more love than I can understand but always reflected, the way she was always SUCH a good girl it was unbelievable.
“My heart yearns to feel her licks across my face but I know her essence is with me forever and at a frequency of love we can’t even conceptualise down here.
“I pray that’s where she must belong because my heart can’t fathom why the universe would take her so quickly.”
The ‘More Than That’ hitmaker thanked her fans for their support but admitted she wouldn’t be posting much online while she is in “deep mourning”.
She wrote: “I appreciate your respect and love during this time of deep mourning. Im sorry I haven’t been as active but it’s just not really in my soul to be right now. Thank you for all of your beautiful well wishes upon my forever angel, Gracie, I love you always my little mami.”

Avril Lavigne could have been a hairdresser

OHMYGOSSIP — Avril Lavigne “could have been a hairdresser” if her music career hadn’t worked out.
The ‘Complicated’ hitmaker burst onto the scene with her debut single in 20002 – taken from her ‘Let Go’ album – and has enjoyed a lot of success, releasing her sixth album ‘Head Above Water’ last month, but it could’ve gone differently with the star loving “anything creative”.
Speaking to Grant, Ed & Ash on 2DayFM, she said: “I totally could have been a hairdresser. Anything creative… a painter or a wardrobe stylist.
“I like to cut hair, so when I’m on the road with my band and we’re backstage and we’re bored, we’ve got nothing to do – I’ve pretty much given everyone a haircut, given everyone a Mohawk.”
Asked if she was actually any good at styling people’s dos, she joked she’d had a lot of practice.
She quipped: “Oh real good, I’ve given a lot of Mohawks in my time.”
Although Avril would’ve been just fine if her career as a singer hadn’t taken off, she recently admitted it was music that has helped her cope throughout her battle with Lyme Disease.
The 34-year-old star – who has struggled with the bacterial infection spread through infected ticks – recently revealed how working on her latest album gave her the strength she needed.
She said: “Music has been more healing than ever for me. I was at a point where I wasn’t sure whether I’d be working or even doing music again, and then I started writing songs from my bedroom.
“‘Head Above Water’ and ‘Warrior’ were the first two songs that I wrote, and then they just kept coming. It was cool for me to see because it showed me that music is such a big part of who I am without even thinking about it or trying to make a record.”

Jason Manford launching quiz show 5 Second Stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Manford is launching his own primetime quiz show.
The comedian’s new ITV project ‘5 Second Stars’ will see contestants teaming up as they try to win a cash prize across a number of face-paced rounds, and it comes after the star has become a favourite with the channel’s bosses.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column: “Jason has become one of ITV’s golden boys and has really clicked with younger viewers, especially with his programme ‘Bigheads’.
“There’s a huge demand for new quiz shows at the moment, so producers were delighted to get him on board for their next big series.
“A pilot for 5 Second Stars is being filmed at the end of the month. The aim is to place it in a primetime slot later in the year — but it’s still early days.”
The new show has already added to comparisons between Jason and fellow musically talented entertainer Bradley Walsh, and it appears the programme could be a hit with fans of ‘The Chase’.
The source added: “Like The Chase, contestants are going to be offered the chance to win big money, and there will be celebrity specials too.”
Featuring members of the public – and three surprise celebrity guests – the first two episodes are set to be filmed at Elstree Film and TV Studios in London later this month.
After the shoot on March 25, Jason will continue his busy year as he hosts the Olivier Awards on April at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall, and later in the year he’ll be back on stage himself in musical comedy ‘Curtains’.
He’s enjoyed huge success on ITV over the years, presenting the likes of ‘Show Me the Funny’, ‘Bigheads’ and ‘What Would Your Kid Do?’

Eva Green doesn’t want female Bond

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Green insists a female James Bond wouldn’t “make sense”.
The 38-year-old actress – who portrayed Vesper Lynd in 2006’s ‘Casino Royale’ – is “for women” but she believes the gender of the iconic role shouldn’t change when her former co-star Daniel Craig steps down as the suave spy.
She told Variety: “I’m for women, but I really think James Bond should remain a man. It doesn’t make sense for him to be a woman.
“Women can play different types of characters, be in action movies and be superheroes, but James Bond should always be a man and not be Jane Bond.”
The ‘Dumbo’ star believes it is important to stay true to the “history” of 007.
She added: “There is history with the character that should continue. He should be played by a man.”
Eva’s comments come after Dominic West previously suggested Hannah Graf the highest-ranked transgender soldier in the British army – should take over the role as he thinks a transgender Bond would be “cool”.
Asked about the idea of a female Bond, he said: “Well …I think some of these things are gender specific. So I don’t see it myself.
“Maybe a transgender Bond would be cool. Yes, there’s a very cool woman who’s the wife of an actor [Jake Graf] in ‘Colette’, who is a captain in the electrical engineers, the highest-ranking transgender soldier in the army.
“She’s done two tours of Afghanistan. She’s a beautiful blonde girl who could be Bond, yes. That’s actually a brilliant idea. T
“They should have a transgender Bond because there are a lot of transgender people in the army.
“They’d be ideal because they can do everything. That’s a great idea! A transgender Bond.”

Ralph Fiennes almost passed on Voldemort role

OHMYGOSSIP — Ralph Fiennes “stupidly” planned to reject the role of Voldemort in the ‘Harry Potter’ series.
The 56-year-old actor admitted he was “ignorant” about J. K. Rowling’s wizarding franchise when he was first offered the role of the Dark Lord in second movie ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ in 2005 and it took the intervention of his sister to make him think again and sign up for the franchise.
Speaking on ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’, he said: “The truth is I was actually ignorant about the films and the books.
“I was approached by the production. Mike Newell was directing the film that they wanted me to be in… the first time Voldemort was going to appear physically.
“Out of ignorance I just sort of thought, this isn’t for me… Quite stupidly I resisted, I was hesitant. I think the clincher was that my sister Martha – who has three children who were then probably about 12, 10 and 8 – she said, ‘What do you mean? You’ve got to do it!’ So then I rewound my thinking.”
But one iconic role Ralph didn’t land was James Bond – much to his relief as he thinks he’d have been “terrible”.
The British star – who joined the franchise in 2012 as Secret Intelligence Service boss M – said: “We did have a conversation, I had a conversation with Barbara Broccoli [Bond producer] many years ago.
“I did have the privilege of meeting Cubby Broccoli, who started the whole Bond franchise. I don’t think I would have been very good.”
And the actor thinks current Bond Daniel Craig has done a “fantastic” job.
He said: “I think that Daniel is a fantastic Bond.
“He has a really strong weight and sense of threat and danger and he has a really interesting complex interior life. I think he’s brilliant. And I also think Sean Connery is hard to forget.
‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ airs on March 16 on ITV at 9.30pm.

The Killers and The Cure will headline Glastonbury 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — The Killers and The Cure will headline Glastonbury festival.
Brandon Flowers and co and the ‘Friday I’m In Love’ hitmakers join grime star Stormzy as the 2019 bill toppers for the world renowned music extravaganza at Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England, which takes place between June 26 and June 30.
Stormzy was previously confirmed as the Friday night headliner, whilst Kylie Minogue is performing the famous Sunday afternoon ‘Legend’ slot.
80s’ icons The Cure are returning for their first headline performance in 24 years.
This means they now tie with Coldplay as the only acts to have headlined four times.
The Killers, who last topped the bill at Glastonbury in 2007, tweeted: “Well folks, there ya have it. It’s true. Be with us.”
Stormzy makes his headline debut, whilst Kylie is finally getting to live out her dream, after she was forced to pull out of her performance at the festival in 2005, due to battling breast cancer.
Liam Gallagher – who made his solo debut at the festival on the Other Stage in 2017 – Miley Cyrus, Johnny Marr, Billie Eilish, George Ezra and more have also been added to the bill.
Liam’s brother and former Oasis bandmate Noel Gallagher – who he has been at loggerheads with for years – was rumoured to be joining the bill, and Liam claimed he was “begging” for the gig, but he’s not been announced as of yet.
Diplo, The Chemical Brothers, Bastille, Years & Years, Loyle Carner, Mavis Staples, Christine & The Queens, Jorja Smith, Wu Tang Clan, Vampire Weekend, Anne-Marie, The Streets, Sigrid, Tame Impala and Two Door Cinema Club have also been confirmed.
At the moment, the festival line-up is made up of 42 per cent female artists, and they have aimed to make sure there is as close to a 50/50 gender-balanced bill as possible.
The event’s organiser Emily Eavis – who curates the line-up with her father Michael Eavis – said previously: “The gender balance is something I consider at every stage of the booking process.
“We’re a little way off being 50/50 across the whole festival, but in 2017 the Park Stage was 50/50 and that will be the case on other stages this year.
“We’re definitely moving in the right direction.”
More acts are set to be announced nearer to the time of the festival.

Katherine Kelly backs Kym Marsh to succeed after Corrie

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Kelly has backed Kym Marsh to land some big TV roles when she leaves ‘Coronation Street’ later this year.
The 39-year-old actress played barmaid Becky McDonald on the soap for six years and since her departure in 2012 has gone on to star in a host of acclaimed dramas, including ‘Mr Selfridge’, ‘Happy Valley’ and most recently ITV thriller ‘Cheat’ which ended this week and attracted an impressive five million viewers.
Katherine is certain that Kym, 42, can follow in her footsteps and be a big success once she steps away from the cobbles after portraying Michelle Connor for 13 years.
Speaking on the Series Linked podcast, Katherine said: “Oh yes for sure, Kym is well equipped absolutely. I think if there’s something in you that wants to leave, then I think you should go off and play different roles.
“And, you know, I would imagine ‘Coronation Street’ are sensible enough to always have a place for her if she wants to go back. Because I think she’s a triumph in that show.”
And Katherine insists the schedule and storylines of ‘Corrie’ are great preparation for all types of other roles once you have left the programme.
She added: “‘Corrie’ in terms of is it a good training, I think it’s a gift for actors. And I think you get out what you put in, definitely. Every scene they give you is almost like an audition really, because the writers are constantly watching. And the job is still ongoing, so they think, ‘Oh, she can do that, or he can do that.’ And then they’ll push the character that way a bit, or that way a bit.”
Although many former soap stars worry about being typecast after leaving their roles, Katherine never did because she felt as though her journey in Weatherfield as Becky showed that she was a very “versatile” actress.
She said: “What was really fortunate was that within the writing team, and within the three producers that I worked under, they also saw that I was versatile. So actually with the way the character started, and the way the character finished, were completely different. And to me, there was, kind of seven characters in between that. And that’s what kept me going. I’ve never really worried about typecasting because I think I am a chameleon and I’d already had a big and varied career.”

Jenny Lewis brands Ryan Adams abuse allegations ‘upsetting and disturbing’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenny Lewis has branded the accusations of abuse made against Ryan Adams as “upsetting and “disturbing”.
The ‘Wonderwall’ singer was accused by seven women – including his ex-wife Mandy Moore, former fiancee Megan Butterworth and former flame Phoebe Bridgers – who had spoken to the New York Times newspaper for an expose published last month about the alleged emotional abuse and controlling behaviour they experienced from the 44-year-old musician.
Jenny – who has worked with the producer for many years – had Ryan and Beck help out with production on her forthcoming LP ‘On The Line’, and although she has never had any “bad dealings” with the ‘To Be Young’ singer/songwriter, she has heard “tonnes of drama stories” about Ryan being difficult to work with.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: “Those allegations were very upsetting, disturbing and sad, mostly for the women involved.
“But that part of the story doesn’t have anything to do with me.
“Everyone has tonnes of drama stories about him. Everyone knows that.
“If you went to one of his shows, he was either on or off, or whatever.
“I’ve never had bad dealings with him in that sort of way, but this is serious stuff and potentially criminal.”
Jenny says that she never intended to be a part of the “discussion”, but she thinks it’s important that women use their platform to speak out on misconduct and show they can stand up for themselves and will not “tolerate” abuse.
She said: “I made my statement, which I was very careful with, but I do think that this is an important dialogue.
“I didn’t set out to be a part of the discussion, but I have a unique perspective and I think it’s really important that we figure it out moving forward and define how it is going to be and that we are not going to tolerate it.”
Ryan worked on Jenny’s 2014 LP ‘The Voyager’, and just like ‘On The Line’, he pulled out of the job before completing the project.
She said of her experience working with the unpredictable musician: “My last record ‘The Voyager’ was produced by Ryan, but he’d gone before it was finished but Johnathan (her former partner) was there to help me finish it.
“This time I had to finish it without him, so I reached out to Beck after I wrote all these new songs and we reconvened in the studio.
“I think it happened like that for a reason.
“I needed to finish it on my own and it’s a better record as a result.
“Beck is a good man and I trust him musically and also as a friend. He has been a mentor to me.”
As a result of the accusations, Ryan’s album ‘Big Colors’ and planned tour were cancelled.
Ryan’s lawyer has denied the allegations made by his former spouse Mandy – who accused him of being “psychologically abusive” during their marriage – saying they were “completely inconsistent with [Ryan’s] view of the relationship” and that he supported her “well-deserved professional success”.

Gregory Finnegan teases Hollyoaks death for James Nightingale

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks’ star Gregory Finnegan has hinted James Nightingale will be killed off.
The 38-year-old actor – who has played the character on the Channel 4 soap since 2016 – has suggested his alter ego will be the latest victim of serial killer Breda McQueen (Moya Brady) after she poisons his coffee under the orders of James’ dad Mac (David Easter) in return for him not exposing her murderous ways.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Gregory teased: “It’s another pivotal week in the lives of the Nightingales. One the remaining family members will never forget.”
He thanked his fans for supporting him and following James’ stories over the last three years, and admitted his on-screen mum Marnie (Lysette Anthony) will be devastated.
He added: “It’s going to be a hard one to take and it could break Marnie forever.”
Although she could be the reason his character is no more, Gregory heaped praise on co-star Moya for her portrayal of killer Breda, and added that James has “no reason” to think she would target him.
He said: “He has no reason to suspect her of foul play – and why would he, to his eye she’s a real sweetheart. It’s terribly sad that’s she’s been driven to this by Mac, but she feels she has no choice. I think Moya plays Breda the little assassin brilliantly.”
His comments come after he recently dmitted he was terrified of getting cut from ‘Hollyoaks’ when he found out he would be Breda’s next victim.
He previously said: “That’s always a worry in ‘Hollyoaks’. No-one’s safe from the serial killer at any time and I think that’s how the show keeps people on their toes.
“They’re willing to kill off characters that you don’t expect at times. We’re always living on our wits a little bit, but yes I was a little surprised.”

Dean Gaffney ‘gets mistaken for David Gandy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dean Gaffney claims he gets mistaken for male model David Gandy.
The soap star – best known for playing Robbie Jackson in ‘EastEnders’ on and off since 1993 – has joked hat the Scottish hunk would be lucky to share a resemblance to him.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column, he said: “He wishes he looked like me… No, I’m joking.
“It’s not just the fact he’s a model, he’s a very handsome guy, he’s not a young model, as in he’s kind of distinguished and the sheer fact that people even think that we remotely look alike, I’ll take that one definitely for the team. I think it’s great.”
The 41-year-old star – who is two years older than his apparent doppelganger – also opened up about the upcoming £86.7 million set upgrade for Albert Square, which is set to be unveiled in 2021.
Commenting on the ‘EastEnders’ revamp, he added: “They’re giving it the respect it deserves.
“I don’t really know much about it because I don’t know the figures but I just know that the set was built to last a year and it’s actually not falling apart but it’s done well to last through all this weather in 33 years.
“I think it’s the coldest place on earth that’s all I know. It’s a wind trap there. You see grown men crying come January there trust me.”
Meanwhile, Dean recently admitted he was glad his 22-year-old twin daughters Chloe and Charlotte don’t look to be interest in following in his acting footsteps.
He said: “With reality shows, it’s never been for them. They’re at an age where they’ve mapped out their life. We all love reality shows, they’re our guilty pleasure, but they’re just not that interested.
“They’ve got their full-time careers and their partners. With acting, they know the business has its dark side, and there’s time when you’re not in full-time employment.
“I think they know it’s a business where I’m extremely lucky to have been working for 26 years. For every one person, there’s a thousand people that aren’t working. I’m happy they’re in full time employment, and it’s a horrible cold world when you’re not working.”

Hollyoaks: Moya Brady says killer Breda is ‘adorable’

OHMYGOSSIP — Moya Brady says ‘Hollyoaks’ serial killer Breda McQueen is “adorable” and “unique”.
The soap star – who joined the cast of the Channel 4 show last year – has continue the programme’s history of captivating killers, and she suggested her alter ego manages to stand out from the rest and something truly different.
She said: “Well, there’s no one like Breda is there? She’s a completely unique character… An elderly woman of advancing years who’s on a moral crusade, and she’s adorable!”
In scenes set to air next week, Mac Nightingale (David Easter) convinces Breda to kill his son James (Gregory Finnegan), in exchange for him keeping quiet about her murderous ways.
She sneaks a dose of poison into a coffee cup, and it appears James could become her sixth victim – but Mac’s blackmailing won’t be enough to put her on the straight and narrow.
Moya admitted: “No, but it’s a cautionary tale to keep sharp… But no, it won’t.”
Moya also opened up on her character’s motivations and goals of taking out the “bad dads” in the village, and it appears she certainly isn’t done yet.
She added: “The village is full of them! Even the good dads can be bad dads in Hollyoaks!”
And Gregory revealed that if James does get killed off, he’ll be sad to be away from his alter ego’s on-screen family.
Asked what he’d miss the most, he said: “My much depleted Nightingale family. We’ve had such a lot of fun over the past few years, and I miss working with Richard, Sophie, Jen Amrit and Jared, who have all long since left the village.”

Julia Roberts wants kids to do chores

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Roberts thinks it’s important her children do their own chores.
The ‘Ben is Back’ star – who has twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 14, and son Henry, 11, with husband Daniel Moder – doesn’t want her kids to “struggle” in the way she did when she was growing up, but she’s determined to instill in them practical skills that will help them later in life.
She said: “From the kind of childhood I had, I raised my kids now, I don’t want them to have to have some of the struggles I had, but at the same time, you do need to know how to make your bed and how to do your laundry and how to be able to make one meal, these are important life skills. They have to run their own race, they have to have their own experience.”
The 51-year-old actress has seen the roles she’s offered change in recent years and she can’t remember when the shift started, but though she’s getting older, Julia still thinks she’s a “rad chick”.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’, she said: “I don’t really remember going from being offered the girl part to being offered the mum parts. I’m still a pretty rad chick… can’t just be a mum. Mum’s gotta have some fun with Dad. That’s why God invented babysitters.”
The ‘Pretty Woman’ star also took the time to praise Olivia Colman and admitted she was thrilled when ‘The Favourite’ actress recently scooped the Best Actress trophy at the Oscars.
She said: “She’s so fantastic and I was just absolutely thrilled when she won. When people are that caught up in a moment I think it’s so special and unique that we get to be witnesses to that.”

Alex Trebek thanks fans for support

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Trebek has thanked fans for the “hundreds of thousands” of messages of support he’s received following his cancer diagnosis.
The ‘Jeopardy!’ host announced earlier this month that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and admitted he has been “extremely touched” by the outpouring of kindness.
He said in a video message: “I just wanna take a few moments to say thanks to the, believe it or not, hundreds of thousands of people who have sent in tweets, texts, emails, cards and letters wishing me well following my recent health announcement.
“I am thankful for the kind words, the prayers and the advice you have offered, and I’m extremely touched by the warmth you have expressed in your comments to me.”
The 78-year-old presenter admitted he wouldn’t “be able to respond to all of you individually,” but promised he does read “everything” that gets sent to him – including a get well card from IBM computer Watson, which once competed on the game show.
He concluded: “I’m a lucky guy.”
Alex previously vowed to do everything he could to fight the disease, even though he knows the prognosis is “not very encouraging”.
He said in a video message to fans: “Hi everyone, I have some news to share with all of you. And it’s in keeping with my longtime policy of being open and transparent with our ‘Jeopardy!’ fanbase. I also wanted to prevent you from reading or hearing some overblown or inaccurate reports regarding my health.
“So therefore, I wanted to be the one to pass along this information. Now, just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.”
“Now normally the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this and I’m going to keep working.”
