George Michael’s art collection sold at auction

OHMYGOSSIP — George Michael’s art collection has sold for £11.3 million at auction.
The collection of the chart-topping pop star – who died in 2016, aged 53 – featured pieces from the likes of Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst, and some of his most cherished artworks have been sold at Christie’s in London to raise money for causes he supported.
Damien Hirst’s 2006 piece ‘The Incomplete Truth’ was sold for an eye-watering £911,250, whilst another Hirst piece, ‘Saint Sebastian, Exquisite Pain’, fetched as much as £875,250 at auction.
A 1982 Bridget Riley painting known as ‘Songbird’ was sold for £791,250, and Tracey Emin’s ‘Hurricane’ was bought for £431,250.
Meanwhile, Andrew Ridgeley recently announced he is writing a book about his friendship with the late pop star.
The duo met at school and went on to form Wham! in 1981, achieving huge stardom in 1984, before going their separate ways later in the decade.
Penguin Random House imprint Dutton will publish ‘Wham! George & Me’ in October and have promised Andrew will reveal all in “wonderful detail”.
The publishers said in a statement: “They made and broke iconic records, they were treated like gods, but they stayed true to their friendship and ultimately to themselves.
“It was a party that seemed as if it would never end. And then it did, in front of tens of thousands of tearful fans at Wembley Stadium in 1986.
“Andrew’s memoir covers in wonderful detail those years, up until that last iconic concert: the scrapes, the laughs, the relationships, the good and the bad. It’s a unique and one-and-only time to remember that era, that band and those boys.”

Montana Brown ‘in shock’ following Mike Thalassitis’ death

OHMYGOSSIP — Montana Brown is still in “shock” following the news of Mike Thalassitis’ death.
The reality TV star appeared alongside Mike on the ITV show in 2017, and Montana has been left feeling devastated by the former soccer player’s death at the age of 26.
She confessed: “I am absolutely in shock of the news. In fact I don’t even quite believe it yet as I spoke to him [on Friday].”
Montana also insisted that the public’s perception of Mike didn’t chime with the real-life reality.
She described the former ‘Love Island’ contestant as “thoughtful, caring, and … fiercely loyal”.
Speaking to the BBC, Montana explained: “Mike was so misunderstood – on television he was known as playing the ladies and everyone had this perception that he was this classic lad that didn’t have feelings.
“I can honestly say, Mike was thoughtful, caring, and so fiercely loyal to his friends and family and really would do anything for them.”
Mike was found dead in woodland near his home in Essex on Friday (15.03.19).
He recently suffered a painful split from ex-girlfriend Megan McKenna, but Mike was reportedly on the cusp of launching a new business venture.
An insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “It is absolutely tragic to have died at such a young age.
“Mike had so much to live for. He was about to launch a restaurant in Essex with a pal.”
Meanwhile, a spokesman for ITV – which produces ‘Love Island’ – said: “Everyone at ITV2 and ‘Love Island’ are shocked and saddened by this terrible news.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Mike’s family and friends at this very sad time.”

Emeli Sande reveals her Disney inspiration

OHMYGOSSIP — Emeli Sande feels inspired by Disney movies.
The 32-year-old singer has revealed she developed her award-winning musical talents by watching Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ obsessively as a child.
She recalled: “When I was three or four, I would just play that movie and rewind it and play it and rewind it and play it. I think I learned how to sing from Ariel!”
And Emeli returned to her favourite Disney movies as she started writing new records for her third studio album.
She told the BBC: “When you see the way children gravitate towards ‘Frozen’ or ‘The Little Mermaid’ or even ‘The Greatest Showman’, it’s clear there’s a real longing for melody.
“I have to check myself sometimes because hip-hop has become the new pop, and melodies can get very ‘one note’.
“Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun to write like that sometimes – but I had to go back and listen to Disney films and musicals and even classical music to remind myself of all the other things you can do.
“I really believe the more melody we have, the better.”
Emeli worked on her latest album alongside a number of musicians in her newly-built recording studio.
And the ‘Read All About It’ hitmaker has likened her approach to joining a “big writing camp”.
She said: “We’d start every day around two and talk rubbish for a few hours. Then people would cook – my speciality was vegan ‘fake chicken nuggets’ – and it all started to come together in the evening.
“The freedom and the camaraderie made it so special. It kind of had this wildness. And in the end we got 200 songs or something crazy like that.”

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex ‘is planning a second baby shower’

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is reportedly planning a second baby shower in the UK.
The 37-year-old royal is currently preparing for the arrival of her first child with Prince Harry, and is said to be working on organising a second baby shower, possibly at Buckingham Palace, after previously staging a lavish event in New York.
A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “[Meghan’s mother] Doria is coming to a baby shower here. It will be a small gathering of five or six people.”
Some of Meghan’s closest friends, including fashion designer Victoria Beckham, are set to attend the baby shower.
The Duchess initially planned to stage the event at Frogmore Cottage at Windsor, where she and the Duke are poised to raise their firstborn child.
But due to renovation work, the baby shower could instead be held at Buckingham Palace in London.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that the Duke and Duchess are actively seeking a male nanny for their baby.
The royals are keen to find a male nanny to help them with childcare duties.
A source explained: “Hiring a ‘manny’ is far more common in the US – a nation that Meghan is more in tune with – than in the UK.
“She’s keen to introduce the royal family to what she considers a more enlightened, modern, American approach. Of course, Harry had a very Tomboyish nanny himself in Tiggy who taught him and William about abseiling, fishing and other outdoor pursuits in Monmouthshire.
“He and Meghan have discussed nannies and both have open mind to a male nanny. They will definitely try to shortlist one. Meghan and Harry are exploring all their options, and will be employing a nanny from September.”

Lupita Nyong’o wants ‘normal’ job

OHMYGOSSIP — Lupita Nyong’o wants a “normal” job.
The ‘Us’ star loves being an actress but she also wants a job where she feels she can “be of use to the world” too.
She told The Sunday Times’ Culture magazine: “My parents instilled in me a sense of ‘Be of use to the world’ – and that voice never shuts up. So I am programmed to be attracted to things I feel are useful. I don’t think I’m in search of nobility, but I do urgently need to say something.”
Lupita previously revealed how she feels she has a responsibility to promote ethnic diversity in Hollywood.
She explained: “Films inspire people to feel differently. A lot more can be done. We can be more empathetic when we realise how much more alike we are than how different we are. You see, I don’t like to fight the reality. The reason it is so acute is because of the stage we are at. When we are talking about inclusion in entertainment, it’s because entertainment isn’t inclusive and, until such a time as that becomes the norm, then this work has to be done … I feel an impetus to say something because this is a conversation that very directly affects me, and my career, and my role in the world. But I don’t belabour it.”
And the 36-year-old actress revealed she has become “more familiar” with herself and Hollywood over the last three years.
She said: “I am more familiar with [this world]. I have my likes and dislikes. I know when I am spreading myself too thin. Now I know how many hours I need to sleep. I feel very privileged. [My career] has given me the luxury of choice; I get to choose and work on things I can’t stop thinking about. That is how I choose a project – if I read the script and after I leave it, the character lingers in my head. If I am not terrified of the character, then it is probably not for me.”

Michael Buble fears son’s post-cancer check ups

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Buble fears his son’s post-cancer check ups.
The ‘Everything’ hitmaker admits he gets nervous when his five-year-old son Noah, who is in remission from liver cancer after a devastating diagnosis two years ago, has to go for regular check ups as he also revealed the impact it has had on his family.
He said: “We have to take him every three months for check ups, and it’s really scary … One of the first things a doctor told me at one of the hospitals we’d gone to was to stay strong and help each other through this. When we had asked why the doctors keep telling us that, this friend of ours who works with families going through things like this, said that something like 92 per cent of couples who go through this … get divorced. And many of the eight per cent who don’t, have more children. And of course, my wife and I thought, here we are with a beautiful daughter.”
And Michael – who also has Elias, three, and Vida, seven months, with his wife Luisana Lopilato – doesn’t know if either himself or his wife would be “brave” enough to fight it again.
He added to Allison Kugel: “We were in the car yesterday and I actually looked at her, and said, ‘Would you do it all over again?’ She then answered, ‘Of course I would do it all over again. I wouldn’t want anything different. You guys are the greatest joy of my life.’ But then my question to her was, ‘But would you be brave enough to do it all over again?’ And then she said, ‘I don’t know.’ And I would have to say the same thing. I don’t know.”

Stacey Solomon’s tough pregnancy

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Solomon isn’t “in love” with being pregnant.
The ‘Loose Women’ presenter – who is expecting her first child with Joe Swash, and her third overall – says her current pregnancy has made her hair go grey and she has been “horrifically sick”.
She said: “There are some women who love being pregnant. Like my stepmum. When she was pregnant with my little brother she was an earth mother. Her hair got longer and she was like a bright ray of sunshine in this happy state of zen. I don’t feel like that.
“My hair has gone grey – honestly, it has! I’ve been horrifically sick and I’m so tired. Obviously I’m grateful and I wouldn’t want anyone to think I’m not elated, but I’m not in love with being pregnant … I’m just trying to enjoy it while I’m awake, which isn’t a lot. Joe says it’s like I’ve been in a coma for months.”
And the 29-year-old television presenter “worries” about her two kids – Leighton, six, and Zachary, 10 – and Joe’s son Harry, 11, feel about her relationship with Joe and the new baby.
She told Fabulous magazine: “We do worry a lot about our children because they’re not from normal 2.4-kids families. So me and Joe have been really conscious not to move too fast, and it was only when the kids seemed to be fully on board and pushing for it that we thought, ‘OK, we can do this.’
“It doesn’t mean everything is blimmin’ fantastic all the time, but fundamentally the kids are happy, we’re happy and that’s exactly where we want to be. The kids adore Joe. They’ve got their dads and they know he’s not replacing anybody. He’s just another really lovely friend who loves them. And it’s the same for Joe and his son. Our door is always open. We want to be as much a blended family as we possibly can and I think it’s working.”

Kim Kardashian West and Paris Hilton reunite for belated birthday party

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West and Paris Hilton reunited for a belated birthday party.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star partied with the heiress and socialite over the weekend and they documented the whole thing on social media.
Speaking in a video clip, she said: “Happy birthday, Paris … even though your birthday was … months ago, this is how she celebrates. Months … months and months. But she deserves it.”
And Paris captioned a video: “Love you @KimKardashian … So much fun celebrating my birthday with you at #ClubParis (sic)”
Paris previously insisted she is “incredibly proud” of Kim and she is “happy” for her reality TV star friend, who she grew up with, despite Kim arguably eclipsing her in terms of fame, since starring on ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ and marrying Kanye West.
Paris said: “Kim and I have been friends since we were little girls. I’m so happy for her. She has a beautiful family. She’s doing incredibly well. I’m so incredibly proud of her. We’re both killing it.”
The ‘Simple Life’ star has previously said she believes the two of them share the same work ethic and that’s why they’ve both been successful.
She recently said: “Kim Kardashian always had a great work ethic like me. I’m very determined in life. Being successful really fulfils me. I work hard. I’m a good person with a good heart. That’s why I’ve been in this business for so long, and that’s why my product lines do so well.”

Malika Haqq: Khloe Kardashian is ‘doing really good’

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian is “doing really good” following her split from Tristan Thompson.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star ended her relationship with the basketball star after he cheated on her with her friend Jordyn Woods but she is doing much better now, according to her best friend Malika Haqq.
She said: “Khloe is good. She’s doing really good.”
And Malika absolutely adores True – who Khloe has with Tristan – and has confessed she spoils her rotten.
She added: “It’s the best thing ever. True is the cutest, smallest, brown version of Khloe I could have asked for … You just don’t say no to True. It’s actually kind of difficult. So yes, I spoil her.”
And the 36-year-old television personality has an incredibly special bond with Khloe and says they are “blessed” to have each other.
She told Entertainment Tonight: “I’m able to be a Malika because have a Khloe. We take care of each other. We’re a duo that’s really tough to come by, but we are blessed to have each other and we build off of that. We don’t judge each other. We can tell each other when either one is right or wrong, but no matter what we just stick together. That is all that really matters to us. When you have someone who has your back no matter what, it’s like a family member. You know how your mother was like, ‘You’re in trouble, you’re wrong, but I still got your back.’ That’s the nature of our relationship.”
Khloe recently blamed the cheating scandal on Tristan – after previously blaming Jordyn.
She wrote: “This has been an awful week & I know everyone is sick of hearing about it all (as am I). I’m a rollercoaster of emotions & have said things I shouldn’t have. Honestly, Tristan cheating on me & humiliating me, wasn’t such a shock as the first time.
What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me. Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault. I have to move on with my life & count my blessings, my family, my health, & my beautiful baby True. (sic)”

Brie Bella can’t wait to have a ‘normal life’

OHMYGOSSIP — Brie Bella can’t wait to have a “normal” life.
The ‘Total Divas’ star made the decision to retire from wrestling to spend more time with her family and she can’t wait for everything to change.
Speaking on the new episode of ‘Total Bellas’, which aired on Sunday (17.03.19) night, she said: “I just can’t wait for next week to come because it’s gonna be, all of a sudden, normal life. Like, being with Birdie every day. And it makes me excited to move to Phoenix just to know that I’ll have more stability and that things will just feel a little more normal.”
Nikki was “shocked” to learn her sister Brie – who has 22-month-old daughter Birdie with her husband Daniel Bryan – wanted to turn her back on her career as she always thought they would retire together.
Brie told Nikki: “So I decided after Evolution, I’m gonna be fully retired. Fully done and that Bryan and I are looking for a house in Phoenix because we’re moving back …. Birdie is truly number one.”
Whilst Nikki added in a confessional: “I’m a bit shocked right now hearing Brie say that she’s going to retire and move to Phoenix. Like talk about dropping two huge bombs. I guess retirement, I always thought that’d be something Brie and I would talk about together. I just did not expect this big change after such an incredible comeback.”
Brie previously confessed the pair want a second child but are trying to work out when the best time would be.
She shared: “We’re talking about it … We’re torn right now. He and I are like, ‘Is this the right time? Is it not?’ So we’re going back and forth, but we definitely want a second.”

Robert Pattinson doesn’t like similar roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Pattinson doesn’t like to repeat his film roles.
The ‘Twilight’ star ensures that every part he takes on is completely different because he doesn’t like feeling “really self-conscious” over parts he’s played before.
He said: “I feel like as soon as I repeat myself even a little bit, I suddenly get really self-conscious. If you’re pushing something out into the unknown a little bit, you can’t judge yourself, because you don’t really know what you’re doing.
“Even with a voice I can’t really do it more than once, because then I think, ‘Oh, this is my acting voice.’ That’s why I can’t even do anything in my normal accent, because it doesn’t feel like I’m working.”
And the 32-year-old actor felt pigeonholed at the start of his career.
He added to Little White Lies magazine: “When I first started … if you’re tall and have floppy hair and a posh accent, they’re like ‘Period dramas!’ And then you’re exclusively in the period dramas box. I was like, ‘No! I don’t want to do period dramas!’ I’ve done a couple, and as soon as I put on the high Edwardian collar, I’m like, ‘Ughhh’. Your costume is out-acting you at all times.”
Robert previously admitted using a different accent for a movie is “confusing”.
Asked whether he’s able to turn his on-screen accent on and off, he shared: “It depends who I’m talking to … if I’m talking to my co-stars, I’ll talk to them in my normal accent. If I’m talking to the directors, I’ll talk in a different accent. But if it’s just before a take or something, I’ll talk in this accent. It’s all kind of pretty random. I think if you’re speaking it the whole time it’s quite confusing to yourself … When everybody is doing different accents, it’s very, very difficult to stay in the same one.”

Christine Lampard was in no rush to have children

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine Lampard was in no rush to have children.
The ‘Loose Women’ presenter – who is now a proud mother to Patricia, five months, who she shares with Frank Lampard – says she was always questioned about having kids before she became a mother but she waited for some time because she was “happy” in her marriage and “that was enough”.
She said: “People would ask all the time about children and didn’t seem to believe me when I said, ‘If it happens, it happens.’ They thought I was hiding some kind of heartache. I wasn’t! Having a baby wasn’t something I actively thought about until last year, when we started trying. I was happy in my marriage and that was enough.”
And the 40-year-old television personality ruled out IVF straight away and she was lucky to get pregnant the “old-fashioned way” straight away.
She added: “When we did start trying I was conscious of my age but I’d ruled out IVF after seeing too many friends go through such a gruelling process. People assume that’s what happened on account of my age. But I became pregnant the old-fashioned way immediately – I wasn’t expecting it to be so quick. I’d been feeling a bit weird for a day or two, so I did a test and while I was waiting for the result, I was distracted by housework and got stuck into the vacuuming. Eventually I wandered back to check – I was astonished to find it was positive.”
And Christine can’t wait to see her little girl grow up.
She told the Mail on Sunday’s You magazine: “It will be lovely if she has a good brain, but I don’t need an Einstein. Good nature and kindness will take her where she needs to go. Having said that, when she’s kicking her legs in the bath, Frank jokes that he might yet get the footballer he’s always wanted.”

Lena Waithe wants a legacy

OHMYGOSSIP — Lena Waithe wants to have a legacy.
The ‘Master of None’ star feels it is important that she is remembered in the future for her work and chooses her jobs carefully.
She said: “I just don’t want to make things that are forgettable. I want to make things that make you feel something and, as long as it makes you feel something, that’s all I care about.”
And the 34-year-old screenwriter, actress and producer had to “pound the pavements” of Los Angeles when she first started out.
Speaking to the March issue of Nylon magazine, which is in honour of Women’s History Month, she added: “I really did have to come out here and pound the pavement and figure it out …
“I didn’t have any connections, can’t make any calls, but I was just like, I’m going to give it everything I have.”
Lena previously insisted she never wanted to be an actress.
She said: “I think that’s what’s so cool about it. It was not a part of my master plan, at all. I wish it had been. I wish I could say that I had this great idea like, ‘Yeah, I’ll do the acting thing, which will then help the writing thing’. It just happened, around the same time.
“For me, it’s been a wonderful journey to just stand at different places on set, as an actor and understanding that role. I feel like I’m the least stressed, when I’m acting on a set, because I just gotta hit my mark and have fun with the lines, listen to the director and go home.
“When I’m a writer on set, I’m not stressed, but my brain doesn’t shut off because I’m like, ‘I could improve that line’, or, ‘I could punch that joke up more’, or, ‘This scene isn’t working the way I had intended it’. My brain is just constantly going, and I actually have fun doing that because I’m a writer first.”

Stacey Solomon is ‘always broody’

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Solomon is “always broody”.
The ‘Loose Women’ presenter – who has Leighton, six, and Zachary, 10, and is expecting her third child – loves being a mother and says it is “another kind of joy entirely”.
She said: “I get so much joy from my work, from my relationship with Joe and from so many things in life. But raising a child is another kind of joy entirely. It’s my favourite thing.”
And when her children have flown the nest, Stacey plans to adopt or foster more kids with her partner Joe Swash.
She told The Sun on Sunday’s Fabulous magazine: “I’m always broody. I see a baby and get all tingly inside. Joe’s mum fosters long-term. I’ve seen what she’s done for the child that she looks after and I’d love to have that opportunity. I think we’ll let our children grow up and leave the house first and then we’ll adopt or foster. I don’t imagine my house ever being completely free of children.”
Stacey previously confessed she wants to have a baby with Joe.
Speaking before they found out they were expecting, she said: “I would like more children but I want it to be the right time. We’d like to be in the house for a year or two and make sure the kids are happy … We are so privileged that we’ve got children already so if it didn’t happen, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. As long as everyone is secure, we can start thinking about it.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie working on a divorce deal

OHMYGOSSIP — Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are working on a divorce deal.
The Hollywood couple are said to be working on a bifurcated judgment, which will allow the courts to officially declare them as single. The duo have been working on the terms of their divorce behind closed doors, The Blast reports.
It was revealed in December that Brad and Angelina have reached a custody agreement with regards of their six kids.
Samantha Bley DeJean, Angelina’s attorney, said: “A custody arrangement was agreed two weeks ago, and has been signed by both parties and the judge. The agreement, which is based on the recommendations of the child custody evaluator, eliminates the need for a trial. The filing and details of the agreement are confidential to protect the best interests of the children.”
In 2018, Angelina – who married Brad in 2014 – was ordered by a judge to allow her children to spend more time with their father, or risk losing custody.
The judge told her at the time: “If the minor children remain closed down to their father and depending on the circumstances surrounding this condition, it may result in a reduction of the time they spend with [Jolie] and may result in the Court ordering primary physical custody to [Pitt].”
Back in April, it was claimed that the pair’s divorce was being finalised.
A source said: “The terms of the divorce are now agreed. They are being finalised by both legal teams, but will be filed within weeks. It’s a huge turnaround from where the marriage ended, especially given the claims Angelina made against Brad, but they are now on pretty good terms. Both decided it was crucial for the children that they had a respectful relationship. The key thing is that they agree to custody sharing, with Brad having access and working with Angelina on logistic issues about work and travel. There were rumours the divorce was being called off, but that’s not the case.”
