Leigh-Anne Pinnock won’t be defined by romance

OHMYGOSSIP — Leigh-Anne Pinnock doesn’t want to be “defined” by her romantic partner.
The 27-year-old singer has said she’s sick of being asked questions about her “bloody boyfriend” during interviews, and is pleased her band Little Mix – which is also comprised of Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, and Perrie Edwards – is now getting the chance to talk about “issues going on in the world”, rather than just their love lives.
She said: “To be defined by someone you’re with is bulls**t … The questions we are being asked are 100 percent changing. In this new campaign [for Little Mix album, ‘LM5’] we are talking so much more and being so much more vocal about issues going on in the world and it feels really good. It feels good to actually speak about something that matters. I don’t want to talk about my bloody boyfriend. The campaigns before were mainly focused on stuff like that and it was like, ‘arghhh for god’s sake!’ It was so refreshing to talk about things that matter.”
And the ‘Woman Like Me’ hitmaker is thankful to her band mates – whom she met when they were put together in the 2011 series of ‘The X Factor’ – because she doesn’t think she could navigate fame on her own.
She added: “My Little Mix sisterhood have helped me so much … Even sitting here now, I feel like ‘Where are my girls?’ It’s so weird. I love them so much and feel so lucky to have that. It’s so necessary in this industry. You need people around you, I couldn’t do it on my own.”
Despite reaching stardom and having her best friends by her side to help her through it, Leigh-Anne says she’s “never 100 percent certain” of herself and still has her insecurities.
Speaking to Glamour magazine, the ‘Power’ singer said: “I’m still going through things now, you’re never 100 percent certain of yourself. There’s always going to be some things to get me down and get to me, [but] I’m so much stronger.”

Karlie Kloss ‘lucky’ for Taylor Swift friendship

OHMYGOSSIP — Karlie Kloss feels “really lucky” to call Taylor Swift a friend.
The 26-year-old model has been good friends with the ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ hitmaker for a number of years, and despite recent rumours that they’d had a falling out, Karlie insists she thinks the singer is “incredible”.
Speaking during an appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live’ when asked about Taylor’s recent essay for Elle magazine, Karlie said: “Taylor’s incredible, and I feel really lucky to call her a friend and she’s one of the hardest-working women. I loved her essay. She’s so talented.”
The former Victoria’s Secret angel spoke about her bond with Taylor in October last year, when asked if they were still pals.
She said at the time: “Taylor and I are still really good friends.”
Rumours of a rift between the pair even go back to 2017, when sources squashed claims of a falling out, saying they simply hadn’t been spending as much time together because their respective careers had been so hectic.
They said: “Taylor and Karlie are doing well as friends. They had no falling out what so ever. They still speak but have been slammed with crazy schedules on both sides.
“Karlie had many prior commitments – that’s why she was not involved in a few of Taylor’s music projects like she was last year. They are still good friends though.”
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Taylor did speak about feuds in her Elle essay, when she referenced her famous public fall out with Kim Kardashian West almost three years ago when Kim leaked edited clips of a phone call between her husband Kanye West and Taylor in order to prove her claims that Taylor had approved Kanye’s lyrics about her in his song ‘Famous’.
In her essay, Taylor claimed the feud – in which Kim branded her a “snake” – left her feeling “lower than [she’s] ever felt”.
She wrote: “A few years ago, someone started an online hate campaign by calling me a snake on the internet. The fact that so many people jumped on board with it led me to feeling lower than I’ve ever felt in my life.
“I learned that disarming someone’s petty bullying can be as simple as learning to laugh. In my experience, I’ve come to see that bullies want to be feared and taken seriously.”

Sam Smith had liposuction aged 12

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Smith had liposuction when he was just 12 years old.
The ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’ hitmaker has admitted he’s struggled with his weight since he was a child, and even underwent the fat removal procedure – in which small areas of fat are sucked out of places such as the hips, thighs, and stomach – at aged 12 because his weight was “affecting his mood every day.”
He said: “When I was a kid, I was chubby … and then it would get worse and worse and worse and I was holding a lot of weight in my chest. When I hit 11 years old, I went to the doctor’s. I was so self-conscious that it was affecting my mood every day.
“I had liposuction, I was 12 years old. At the time I think I was very happy about it. It didn’t really change anything. I think I put the weight back on in two weeks because I hadn’t figured out my relationship with food, so it didn’t really change anything. But being 12 years old and having liposuction on your chest is quite a big deal.”
During his childhood, Sam got his mother to write him notes so he wouldn’t have to do swimming lessons in school, because he was so self-conscious about being shirtless in front of his friends.
He added: “[I’ve been struggling with my weight] from since I can remember, like since I was a baby.
“I used to get my mom to write a note to the school when I was like 8 so I wouldn’t have to go to swimming lessons. So it’s something that’s been in me forever.”
And the 26-year-old singer says he still struggles with his body image, which he blames as “the basis” of all his “sadness”.
Speaking to Jameela Jamil during the premiere episode of her new ‘I Weigh Interviews’ Instagram series, Sam said: “It’s the basis of all my sadness. Literally everything I’ve ever been sad about is my weight. I struggle with it every day. I get very, very dark and very sad.”

Cole Sprouse loves spending ‘quality time’ with Lili Reinhart

OHMYGOSSIP — Cole Sprouse loves spending “quality time” with his girlfriend Lili Reinhart.
The ‘Riverdale’ actor has been romancing his co-star since July 2017, and has said that whilst he isn’t a big fan of date nights at the movies, he does love to spend time talking to her and doing hobbies they both enjoy, such as photography.
He said: “My language of love is quality time. I’m not really the type of person that likes going to a movie and sitting in silence [for a date]. Maybe a little breaking and entering! Some photography! Who knows?”
Cole’s favourite date idea is a “road-trip”, and he says he once took Lili, 22, to a remote location where he surprised her with a hot-air balloon ride.
Speaking to Glamour magazine, the 26-year-old actor said: “I really like the road-trip date. I took my girlfriend on a date where we drove to this location deep into Canada, and I surprised her with a big hot-air balloon adventure, which was quite a bit of fun. I like traveling quite a bit. I like road-tripping. Those grand experiences always end up yielding the greatest memories – and the greatest romances.”
It’s not the first time the couple have spoken about their love of adventure either, as Lili previously said she loves going on trips with her partner.
She said: “I like to go on adventures with Cole. Truly, adventures. He takes me to places where I’m like, ‘How did you find this?’
“He’s made me see these things that I would have never seen otherwise. It’s escapism, which is so beautiful and wonderful.”
And although she loves their adventures now, she found the former ‘Suite Life of Zack and Cody’ star “annoying” when they first met.
The blonde beauty said: “I thought his voice was annoying. I was like, ‘That guy’s got an annoying voice.’ And now it’s grown on me, I guess.”

Demi Lovato reflects on sobriety on what would have been her 7th sober anniversary

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato has reflected on what would have been her 7th year of sobriety.
The 26-year-old singer suffered a near-fatal overdose in summer last year when she relapsed and subsequently spent time in rehab, and on Friday (15.03.19) she marked what would have been her sobriety anniversary with a social media post saying she “doesn’t regret” her actions because she knows she needs to learn from those “mistakes”.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Today I would’ve been 7 years sober. I don’t regret going out because I needed to make those mistakes but I must never forget that’s exactly what they were: mistakes.”
After entering rehab last year, Demi started her sobriety count over and posted in January this year that she was celebrating six months of being clean once again.
Back in December, the ‘Sober’ hitmaker admitted she was “grateful to be alive” following her overdose, and said she was working hard to stay away from her vices.
She wrote on Twitter: “If I feel like the world needs to know something, I will tell them MYSELF. Otherwise people stop writing about my recovery, because it’s no one’s business but mine. I am sober and grateful to be alive and taking care of ME. Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened and what my life is like today.. but until I’m ready to share that with people please stop prying and making up s**t that you know nothing about. I still need space and time to heal..
“I would love to set the record straight on all the rumours out there but I literally don’t owe anyone anything so I’m not going to. All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support. I’m so blessed I get to take this time to be with family, relax, work on my mind, body and soul and come back when I’m ready. I have my fans to thank for that. I’m so grateful, truly. I love you guys so f***ing much thank you (sic).”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Austin Green has defended himself after fans slammed him for not posting about Luke Perry’s death on social media.
Luke, 52, passed away earlier this month after suffering a stroke and while Brian remained quiet on social media, fans were outraged at his recently announced plans to record a live episode of his ‘With Brian Austin Green’ podcast from Southern California’s Torrance High School, which served as the backdrop for ‘Beverly Hills 90210’s West Beverly High.
One fan wrote: “Im not sure how you could do this so soon. I havent seen anything from you about his passing, maybe Ive missed it somewhere. Pretty much everyone else had something to say (sic).”
But Brian, 45 – who is married to Megan Fox – was quick to respond, writing: “The passing of Luke is terrible. As was said by many, everyone grieves in different ways. If its too soon for you to attend what is meant to be a fun night for the fans then you dont have to. Everyone should respect everyones process (sic).”
He added: “thanks everyone for sticking up for me but its not necessary.”

Kevin Clifton: ‘I’ve never dated a Strictly contestant’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Clifton has never dated any of his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partners.
The thrice-married star’s celebrity dance partners on the BBC One show have included Susanna Reid, Louise Redknapp and Stacey Dooley and Kevin insists he has always kept his partnerships professional.
When asked if he had ever hooked up with one of his famous partners, he told The Sun: “No, never. You’re there to do a job and get on with the dancing. That’s what it’s about.”
Kevin, 36, and his third wife – fellow ‘Strictly’ professional Karen – split in 2018 but he says the split was amicable and they never wanted show bosses to have to choose between them.
He said: “I’ve got so much respect for her. I just want her to be happy. She seems very happy and she came to my launch night of ‘Rock Of Ages’, which was great. We didn’t want it to become argumentative or this difficult thing that was happening. We wanted to be as adult as possible and be calm about it. We didn’t want to drive ourselves mad. We wanted to carry on working together at ‘Strictly’ and do our tour together.
“We’re in the same working environment. The idea that Strictly producers had to choose one or the other was never discussed — we were obviously happy to carry on working together. They are lovely and they came over and said, ‘Are you OK? Do you need anything from us?’ We said, ‘No, we’re good’.”
Kevin recently opened up about his amicable relationship with Karen, telling ‘Lorraine’ that the pair are “really good friends”.
He added: “We’ve still been dancing together, we did the tour together after that. And we worked together on ‘Strictly’.
“We do have a big respect for each other, and we just decided it didn’t have to be argumentative or difficult. We just thought, ‘Let’s stay friends, let’s work through it as calmly as possible and it’s all good’. We’re all fine.
“You’re always going to have love for each other and you just want to look out for each other.”

Yungblud called mother for first radio play

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud called his mother the first time he heard his music on American radio.
The 20-year-old singer/songwriter could not believe that his music was being played on the radio in the US and immediately called his mother, who gushed “that’s mental”.
Speaking to Billboard, he said: “I heard it in the UK and I was freaking out, ’cause my mate knew it was happening and I didn’t. It was my song ‘I Love You, Will You Marry Me?’ And then I came to America and I heard it on the radio. I was like, ‘What is going on?’ I called my mom, I was like, ‘Mom my song’s playing on the radio in America,’ and she was like, ‘That’s mental.'”
Meanwhile, Yungblud recently announced a new European tour in the autumn after selling out most of his dates in the UK in March.
The extensive tour kicks off in Amsterdam on October 27, and wraps at Sheffield’s O2 Academy on November 29, and the new run will see him play his biggest headline show to date in the British capital at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on November 21.
The alternative star released the single ‘Loner’ in January, and revealed he directed the music video for the song, which was shot at his grandmother’s house in Doncaster.
The rocker – whose real name is Dominic Harrison – filmed his promo in this location as he wanted it to be a “reflection of where [he’s] from” and so he can always remember that he owes his fame to his fans.
He said: “I created this track because it’s a reflection of where I’m from and who I am. I wanted to invite my fans and people who might not know me yet into my front room and to have a cup of tea with them. I wanted to show them what Dom looks like going to get a glass of water at 2am.
“At the end of the day, I needed to tell myself no matter what happens or how far this thing goes, that I am just a kid from the north of England who has been put in this position by his fans. If I ever forget that I’m in dangerous water.”
The ‘Psychotic Kids’ singer went on to explain that although he wanted the video to demonstrate his roots, it was also to show how “alone” he’s felt “his whole life”, even though he was surrounded by family and friends.
He said: “We shot the video in my Nan’s house, with my mates from school and also in the venue I played my first shows in.
“The track reflects how alone I felt my whole life no matter how many people seemed to be around me.”

Lily Allen: The #MeToo movement has not made big enough impact

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Allen thinks the #MeToo movement needs to make a bigger impact.
The 33-year-old singer thinks people have brushed by the #MeToo movement and need to recognise the seriousness of sexual harassment stories.
Lily said: “Everyone is sort of a bit like, ‘Yeah, yeah, that happened, but what do you expect?’ I think that’s the danger with the #MeToo movement. So many people are coming forward and sharing their experiences, and no one seems to be reacting. It’s news, and then people move on. It’s an interesting time.”
The ‘Smile’ hitmaker feels that the problem is people talk about shocking stories of sexual violence as if they are “sensational” and “exceptional” and thinks people need to realise that sexual assault against women is happening all the time.
She said: “That’s the issue, people want to talk about these things as if they are sensational and exceptional. They’re not! They’re happening to everyone all the f***ing time … Men especially just don’t want to believe it, you know, whether it has something to do with themselves or accountability, or I don’t know what it is – oh, to be a rich white man.”
The musician is passionate about having an interest in politics because she doesn’t want the “bad guys” to win.
She told Civilian magazine: “I think it’s really important to be interested and active. That is democracy. People have fought for that right for us, and we must partake in that. The bad guys are partaking in it, and they’re winning so we can’t disconnect, that would be a disaster. We can’t just look the other way.”

Jo Wood wants to appear on Who Do You Think You Are

OHMYGOSSIP — Jo Wood wants to appear on ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’
The 64-year-old model – who was previously married to Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood – would love to explore her great-grandmother’s South African heritage for the BBC genealogy show.
She told the Daily Mail: “I would love to dig into my Zulu roots. When the Stones played Johannesburg, I invited 25 cousins to the show. It was so funny, we’re all different colours.”
Since her split from Ronnie in 2008, Jo has appeared on numerous TV shows, including ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, ‘Celebrity First Dates’, ‘Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls’ and ‘Celebrity MasterChef’.
However, she admitted she was disappointed when ‘First Dates’ producers set her up with a man who looked just like her rocker ex.
She previously said: “I said to the producers: ‘I don’t want anybody like my ex-husband!’ And when I walk in, there’s this guy who looks like [Ronnie’s] older brother. I thought: ‘Oh Jesus.’ Nice enough bloke, but not for me. I was a bit disappointed. I thought I was going to meet Mr Right.
“I don’t know what I want [in a man] now. I’ve no idea. Somebody who is kind of loving and a bit sexy. I suppose it would have to be somebody in the arts. An accountant wouldn’t [suit].”
However, she is still hopeful about meeting Mr. Right.
She said: “Somebody who is into organicness, as well. And loves nature. And is a bit of an adventurer who says: ‘Come on, Jo, let’s go and climb Machu Picchu!’ And I can say: ‘Yes! Let’s go!’ That’s the kind of man I want.
“It’s lovely to be in love. I’d love to have that ‘ping’ moment and fall madly in love, but in a relationship where we are both equal. That would be so nice at my age, I’d love it.
“But I’m not looking. My brother always says: ‘Jo, somebody will come along when you are least expecting it.’ So I am just going to enjoy my life and hope somebody perfect comes along.”

Casey Batchelor saw a ghost dressed in a tennis kit

OHMYGOSSIP — Casey Batchelor once saw a ghost dressed in a tennis kit.
The 34-year-old television personality feels she has a “sixth sense” and claimed that once while staying in an old manor house, she saw a spirit dressed in “old tennis clothes” and the owner of the property assured her that this was a common occurrence.
She said: “I believe in ghosts and I’ve seen one before. It was at an old manor house and the apparition was dressed in old tennis clothes. The lady said that the people who previously owned it were tennis players and people had seen them before. I feel like I’ve got a sixth sense.”
The reality star went on to explain that she is a “spiritual person” and has every faith in psychics as one correctly predicted that she would be a ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant, as well as giving insight on “a few other things”.
Writing her ‘My Life My Rules’ column for new! magazine, she added: “I’m a spiritual person and I love clairvoyants. One predicted that I was going into ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and then it happened. She also predicted a few other things that have happened.”
The former glamour model also revealed that her “greatest achievement” in life is both her nine-month-old child Florence, who she has with partner Dane Goodson and her Yoga app Blitz which she insists has been a “really amazing journey”.

Yungblud pays tribute to Felicite Tomlinson

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud has paid tribute to Félicité Tomlinson.
The 20-year-old singer/songwriter was a school friend of Louis Tomlinson’s late sister, who passed away earlier this week after suffering a suspected heart attack at her London home, and he took to Twitter to share a touching tribute to Félicité, 18.
He wrote: “I knew Felicite a lot of my life as initially she was so important to my sister and my best friend… the more we got to know each other the more we became close. she was always so supportive of my music and would turn up at shows even before I was yungblud. She was such a huge inspiration to young people, especially young women she was so bright and very very sharp. she was taken far too soon. I’m sending all my love to you up there and her family. sleep tight fizz (sic).”
Last year, Félicité shared a picture of the pair together on her Instagram page and wrote a supportive message after her pal had played at Reading Festival: “Known you for 6 years and watching you perform at Reading and the crowd knowing every word had me in tears (sic).”
The tribute came as comedian Lenny Henry took a moment during Friday’s (15.03.19) Comic Relief show to remember Félicité, after Louis pulled out of his planned performance on the televised charity special following her death.
He said: “Sudden tragic loss of his sister. All the love and best wishes go out to Louis and his family at this terrible time.”
Félicité – who was an Instagram star – collapsed at her fourth-floor studio apartment in Earls Court, West London, on Wednesday (13.03.19) lunchtime.
A person who was with her called the emergency services, but despite extensive efforts to resuscitate Félicité, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 12.52pm to a residential address in SW5.”
Whilst the London Ambulance Service added: “We were called at 12.51pm.
“We sent two ambulance crews, a single responder in a car and an advanced paramedic to the scene. Sadly, despite efforts of our medics, a person died.”
Félicité’s death is being treated as “unexplained”, and a full post-mortem examination and toxicology tests are underway to determine the teenager’s cause of death.
For 27-year-old Louis, the tragic news comes after he previously lost his mother Johannah Deakin in 2016, when she passed away aged 43 after losing her battle with leukaemia.
And Louis recently released a heartbreaking new single entitled ‘Two of Us’, in which he painfully sings about wishing he was the one who died.
On the track, he sings: “You’ll never know how much I miss you, the day that they took you, I wish it was me instead.”
And during the chorus, he adds: “I will be the best of me, always keep you next to me, I’ll be living one life for the two of us.”

Zachary Levi

OHMYGOSSIP — Zachary Levi “always dreamed” of being given a role where he gets “paid” to get in the best physical shape of his “life”.
The 38-year-old actor – who is set to play the titular role in the upcoming DC and Warner Bros superhero flick ‘Shazam!’ – has a new found respect for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and the “incredible” workout regime he sticks to when working, and hopes one day he can be on that same “level”, despite being the “strongest” he’s ever been.
Speaking to Collider about The Rock’s fitness routine, he said: “I still don’t know. It takes a village I’ll say that, and he’s got an incredible village around him to be able to stay on that schedule because even with everything that I’m doing, I’m still not able to reach ‘The Rock’ level, but maybe one day!
“I hope I’m able to continue in this journey that I’m on right now of strength and wellness and health and the happiness that its brought from that and just transforming my body and being stronger than I’ve ever been.
“I always dreamed that I’d get paid to be in the best shape of my life and that’s essentially happening so I’m happy about it.”
Levi’s DC alter-ego has been brought to life with a red suit, which features an iconic red cape and gold lightning bolt across the chest, however, the star admitted that if there was going to be a sequel, he’d want to make a few “adjustments” on the outfit to make it more “comfortable”.
He added: “I’d want to make some adjustments on the suit just to make it a little more comfortable, the suit’s amazing and it’s beautiful and lights up and everything, but I was freezing, we shot in Toronto in the middle of winter and it didn’t keep me warm at all and then we’d go on the stage inside and I’d be burning up. I want to work with wardrobe designers and find a happy medium!”

Ezra Miller working on new The Flash script

OHMYGOSSIP — Ezra Miller is working on a “darker” script for ‘The Flash’ movie.
The 26-year-old actor – who has already portrayed the comic book character in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and ‘Justice League’ – has reportedly disagreed with writer-director duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein on the story and has started working with comics author Grant Morrison on his own script.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ezra wants a “darker” take on the story, while Daley and Goldstein are keen for a lighter comic-book adaptation.
The script could be submitted by next week, while Ezra’s holding deal with Warner Bros expires in May.
Meanwhile, Ezra recently insisted the delay on ‘The Flash’ is because they want to make sure the film is “just right” for the fans.
Filming was pushed back on DC’s long-in-development standalone movie centred on the titular speedster until later this year, and Miller claimed the reason they are taking so long is because they want to create a whole new “speedster multiverse” beyond DC.
He said: “We’re talking about sparking a whole new universe, it’s not just the DC multiverse, it’s the speedster multiverse. And the speedsters are the ones who connect all the disparate pieces of it. ‘Cause Marvel is a universe, right? It’s a world with all the same characters in it. DC is a multiverse – all these different stories with different realities, different characters and different versions of characters. And the speedsters are the ones who move through it all.”
The ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ star added that they don’t want to make the movie if it becomes anything but a “consummate beautiful offering” to fans.
He said: “We’re a little late, but the reason why we’re late – and this is the honest to God truth – the reason why we’re late is because we’re all — and I include myself in this — we are very meticulously focused on making a movie that’s not just one of the greatest superhero movies that we can possibly make, this movie is also going to be a gift to the fans.
“This movie’s going to be a real pure offering to the fans of this material.
“And we’ve hit a couple of points in the script’s development where we’ve looked at it and gone ‘This isn’t it, this isn’t it yet.’ … I’m really delighted at how focused everyone is on getting it just right, and I’m really devoted to that as well.
“We won’t make the film unless it’s going to be this consummate beautiful offering to the fans, and to everybody.”
The movie is currently expected to be delayed until 2021.

Saara Aalto’s homosexuality opened new doors

OHMYGOSSIP — Saara Aalto thinks being a homosexual woman is “easier” for her because she doesn’t fit the stereotype.
The pop star – who is engaged to her talent manager partner Meri Sopanen – explained that being a gay woman throughout her career has brought “new opportunities” and opened new doors for her.
She said: “It hasn’t done anything bad. I thought it would but it has brought me new things, new opportunities. Everybody keeps saying pop culture is all about being sexy, but because I’m a lesbian I think people are a bit careful about it. They’re not like, ‘You have to be a seductive woman’. And it easier for me because of my looks, definitely. For Meri, media has been ok, but people write very nasty things online. It’s easier for homophobic people to accept me, because I don’t look scary to them.”
The ‘Wild Wild Wonderland’ singer – who shot to fame after becoming a finalist on ‘The X Factor’ in 2016 – recently teamed up with the British transgender youth charity, Mermaids, to create a short film telling her own LGBT journey, and the star insisted that she wants to “raise awareness”
She added: “I have transgender friends and it’s hard for them. In Finland, we are now battling for trans rights. You still have to be sterilised if you transition. Hopefully this video can raise awareness.”
The ‘Dancing On Ice’ finalist also confessed that she does eventually want children with Meri because she would be the “best mum” and the pair both have their different personalities, which is an advantage.
Saara admitted to Diva magazine: “We love children, but it’s so hard when we’re working. She [Meri] would be the best mum. Meri’s the tomboy and I’m the feminine one, but I actually have that ‘masculine’ business, work mindset and Meri’s more mothering. People are like, ‘Is Meri the man of the family?’ And I’m like ‘No!’ But people would always assume.”

Alexander Skarsgard: Godzilla Vs. Kong is ‘visually extraordinary’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexander Skarsgard says ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ is “visually extraordinary”.
The 42-year-old actor stars in the upcoming monster head-to-head blockbuster – scheduled for release in 2020 – and he has teased that the role is big and fun and completely different to the characters he has portrayed onscreen in the last two years.
Speaking to Collider about the project, he said: “We’ve been shooting for two months, we were in Hawaii for a month we were in Australia for a month and I fly back tomorrow morning to continue. I’m having so much fun, I’m loving it I really am.
“It’s quite different for The Aftermath, and from most movies I’ve been doing the past two years I’ve done a lot of slightly more cerebral, emotionally intense dramas. So in that way it was quite cathartic and it was exciting to something big and fun and I love the character I play in it and visually it’s pretty extraordinary.”
The Adam Wingard-directed movie follows on from Gareth Edwards’ ‘Godzilla’ and Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ ‘Kong: Skull Island’ and ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’, which is slated for release in 2019.
Skarsgard will be joined in the film by Julian Dennison – who starred in ‘Deadpool 2’ – and Brian Tyree Henry, as well as the Oscar-nominated Demian Bichir and Millie Bobby Brown.
Meanwhile, the Swedish star also plays Keira Knightley’s [Rachael Morgan] love interest Stefan Lubert in the James Kent directed drama ‘The Aftermath’, which is set in 1946 postwar Germany, and he insisted that it was the “complexity” of the script that attracted him to the role.
He added: “Well I’ve read quite a few post world war two movies, what made me excited about this one is it felt very different. That world where two narratives is often quite good versus bad, everyone this side is a hero and everyone in Germany is a villain.
“I thought it was interesting to read something that had a bit more complexity and I read the novel and thought it was fascinating. This guy is not your stereotypical evil Nazi, but he’s also not a hero, he’s trying to survive in Germany during the war, trying to protect his daughter. There’s a complexity there and it made it very interesting to me.”
