Reboot of The Craft is coming

OHMYGOSSIP — A remake of ‘The Craft’ is reportedly in the works.
The cult 1996 teen thriller will be remade at Blumhouse and Columbia Pictures with actress, director and writer Zoe Lister-Jones on board to helm the project and co-write the script, according to Deadline.
The original film followed Sarah (Robin Tunney) who discovers she has a telekinetic gift after transferring to a Catholic high school in Los Angeles.
Her supernatural powers are noticed by three aspiring witches; Bonnie (Neve Campbell), Rochelle (Rachel True) and Nancy (Fairuza Balk) and the group soon become a dangerously powerful coven.
According to a Production Weekly, shooting will begin in July and a brief description of the project read: “A remake of the 1996 supernatural teen thriller. When starting at a new school, Hannah befriends Tabby, Lourdes, and Frankie & quickly becomes the fourth member of their Clique. Hannah soon learns that she somehow brings great power to the quartet.”
Although the main characters’ names have been changed, further details on the reboot are being kept under wraps.
Blumhouse and Columbia are co-financing the latest version of the picture and Daniel Casey will serve as co-writer to Zoe.
Neve, 45, previously reflected on her iconic role as the troubled head witch Bonnie and the ‘Scream’ star insisted she had no idea how much of a “cult classic” the movie had become.
She said: “I went to a 20-year reunion screening of ‘The Craft’ at the Hollywood Cemetery with Rachel True and Robin Tunney, and Andy Fleming, our director.
“It was pretty insane. Everyone was in costumes – wearing our school uniforms … and getting a little drunk. Having a lot of fun, screaming the lines at the screen. I don’t think I had ever realised what a cult kind of movie it was. What a cult classic it was. So that was a lot of fun to see.”

Drake attends rapper Loski’s London gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake showed up to rising rapper Loski’s London show on Tuesday night (26.03.19).
The Canadian hip-hop superstar is currently in the UK on his ‘Assassination Vacation Tour’ and on his day off he decided to head down to the O2 Kentish Town Forum in north London, to see the 19-year-old artist who he listed as an inspiration for his latest LP ‘Scorpion’.
The ‘In My Feelings’ hitmaker was filmed by a fan on the balcony of the 2,300-capacity venue rapping along to Loski’s song ‘Money & Beef’.
Drake has made a habit of making surprise appearances at his favourite UK rappers’ shows.
The 32-year-old star crashed Fredo’s concert ahead of the opening night of the UK leg of his own tour in Manchester recently.
The Grammy-winner dropped by the O2 Ritz, which holds just 1,500 people, a day before his gig at nearby Manchester Arena, to join the London star for a rendition of the former’s song ‘Nonstop’ from his record-breaking LP ‘Scorpion’.
Fredo fans paid just £25 a ticket for the concert and went crazy for the hip-hop superstar.
The Canadian rapper warmed himself up before his extravagant first show of the tour in the Northern city.
Fellow UK rapper DAVE was also a special guest at Drake’s Manchester show.
The extravagant production sees the Grammy Award-winner perform on a 360 degree LED stage, with flying drones with lights, lasers, fireworks, and even had a rotating yellow Ferrari hovering over the crowd.
After performing the emotional number ‘Upset’, footage is shown on big screens of Drake as a child and in the studio.
The montage also includes a clip of Drake with his former on/off flame Rihanna, then footage is shown of the rapper crying into his hands.
The ‘Assassination Vacation Tour’ continues with two nights at Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena starting tonight (27.03.19).
The 32-year-old star will then make The O2 – which holds 20,000 people – his home for two shows on April 1 and April 2, and after a day off, he will return to the iconic venue on April 4 and April 5, and again on April 8, with his last performance at the arena on April 9.
The ‘Passionfruit’ star will then travel to Antwerp and Amsterdam for a series of shows, concluding at the Ziggo Dome on April 26.

Geri Horner recruits vocal coach ahead of Spice Girls tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Geri Horner has reportedly hired her own singing coach to get her voice in “perfect” shape for the Spice Girls tour.
The 46-year-old singer is making sure her vocals are in pristine condition for the ‘Viva Forever’ group’s forthcoming reunion shows, which will see Geri, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Mel B back on stage – with Victoria Beckham opting out of the tour – this summer.
The band, who will begin group rehearsals next month, haven’t performed on stage properly together since the 2012 London Olympic Games Closing Ceremony, and the ‘Bag It Up’ hitmaker is determined to make sure their fans’ get their money’s worth.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Geri is anxious to make sure she is up to standard when the girls get back together … so she has hired a singing instructor.
“She doesn’t want to be the one people point the finger at if it isn’t note perfect.”
Geri’s recruitment of a vocal instructor comes after reports that Mel C ordered her bandmates to take singing lessons.
The tabloid previously reported that Mel is worried as the group have not sang together in years and believes it is “crucial they take the performance side of the money-spinning return very seriously”.
The 45-year-old star – who is known as Sporty Spice in the girl group – has also decided to oversee the musical arrangements and is helping the live band to update their classic hits for the tour, which kicks off at Dublin’s Croke Park on May 24.
Geri – who has two children, daughter Bluebell, 12, and son Montague, two, with husband Christian Horner – recently revealed she’s currently hard at work training for the tour, much to the embarrassment of her daughter.
The ‘2 Become 1’ singer said: “I’ve started independent rehearsals with the dancing, which my daughter is very embarrassed about.
“I’m relearning the songs, learning the harmony parts. I haven’t done that for however many years.”
Geri – who was nicknamed Ginger Spice – also insisted that she and her bandmates never came close to asking fashion designer Victoria, 44, to join them on the road, even though Mel B claimed she was poised to sign up.
She said: “No, there was never a point it was all five of us. Mel thought she could make it happen if she just kept on saying it. She’s clever, you’ve got to hand it to her.”

Coleen Nolan lands first acting role in The Thunder Girls play

OHMYGOSSIP — Coleen Nolan has landed her first-ever acting role in all-female play ‘The Thunder Girls’.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist has signed up to the production, which has a female writer, female producer and female director, as well as an all-female cast, including Beverley Callard and Mina Anwar.
She said: “I’ve been lucky enough to have been offered several West End shows as well as tours over my career, but never felt ready to take on my first official acting role until I read ‘The Thunder Girls’.
“To be cast in the first line-up of ‘The Thunder Girls’ with such amazing actresses is a dream come true.
“I’ve lived and breathed the ups and downs of girl band life and I knew as soon as I read the script that this is the real deal. The audience will love this show.
“It’s like the ultimate sneak peek behind the velvet curtain of showbiz and what really can go on behind closed doors – to say it’s explosive would be an understatement.”
‘The Thunder Girls’ is a debut play by Melanie Blake and is an adaptation from her first novel of the same name ahead of its summer release.
The play follows an 80s girl group who have reunited 30 years after greed, envy and egos tore them apart.
Coleen has “never had the confidence” to appear in a play beforehand and while she is “nervous” about the upcoming role, she is hoping to do her character, former pop star Anita, “justice”.
She added: “I’ve always had terrible stage fright and never had the confidence to star in a play before but I feel I can do Anita justice because I can draw on my past to play her.
“I’m also incredibly inspired by the fact that this play has created roles for women who are fabulous over 50.
“I am nervous, but Anita was just too delicious to turn down – I can’t wait to play her.
“‘The Thunder Girls’ is a bit like the Christmas Day episode of a soap when you wait all year for someone to get their comeuppance!
“It starts off at a hundred miles an hour and doesn’t stop until the curtain comes down.”

Christine McGuinness had to reduce Real Housewives of Cheshire commitments

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine McGuinness had to reduce the amount of filming she could do for the new series of ‘The Real Housewives of Cheshire’ because her husband Paddy McGuinness is so busy with his own television career.
The 31-year-old model has had to mainly be a stay-at-home parent for the couple’s five-year-old twins Penelope and Leo, who both have autism, and their two-year-old daughter Felicity as Paddy films four different TV shows; ‘Top Gear’, ‘Celebrity Juice’, ‘Catchpoint’ and ‘Take Me Out’.
Paddy’s success has meant that her role on the ITVBe reality show has had to take a backseat and Christine appreciates how understanding the programme makers have been about her situation.
In an interview with the Daily Star newspaper, she said: “I’ve done a lot less this series but I’m really lucky the whole team understands I can’t just drop everything and film all day and night. But I appreciate those moments outside my own reality and make the most of that little bit of time. And it’s nice to get glammed up as that is definitely not my life!”
Paddy, 45, has been at home for only five days in the past month due to his filming commitments and even had to miss her 31st birthday because of work, and Christine admits it’s been a “tough” time as she tries to cope with challenges of raising two kids with autism.
The blonde beauty does not use a nanny to help with childcare but her mum does come to stay at weekends to give her a helping hand and it has been a godsend for her.
Christine shared: “Every time Paddy’s not here, I’m doing every breakfast, getting them dressed and changed because I still have to support the twins with that, physically feeding them, going to hospital appointments, and every school run there and back. Every teatime and bath time, it’s full-on. It’s exhausting. My mum comes most weekends and I’d be lost without her, but even then I don’t get a break because I still have to be there. Should I get some support at home? I question that at times but I’ve managed for almost six years so should I just keep going? I don’t know the answer.”

Strictly dancers don’t want more social media stars on show

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professionals have reportedly asked bosses to not book any vloggers or social media stars for the new series because they have an unfair advantage in the voting.
YouTube sensation Joe Sugg danced his way into the final when he appeared as a celebrity contestant last year and it was his eight million plus subscribers and millions of followers on Twitter and Instagram who ensured he didn’t get the boot by voting for him in their droves.
The pros each want to get a fair chance to compete for the glitterball trophy by earning votes from the public for the quality of their routines with their partners and so have asked BBC producers to stick to booking traditional stars.
A source told The Sun newspaper Bizarre TV column: “Joe’s huge popularity caused some tension last year after he was being voted to stay in the show each week. He wasn’t the best dancer, so his place on the show was purely based on his fan base. Now the pros are going to unite and ask for no social media personalities for a year, to give everyone a level playing field. The professionals talk regularly discuss on different points relating to the show and this has been a hot topic.”
The 2018 series was eventually won by documentary maker Stacey Dooley and her partner Kevin Clifton.
Joe, 27, did win something else on ‘Strictly’; he won the heart of his ballroom partner Dianne Buswell and the pair have been a couple ever since.
And Dianne, 29, is following in Joe’s footsteps as she has launched her own YouTube channel with her boyfriend’s help.

Feeder announce new album Tallulah and UK tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Feeder have announced new album ‘Tallulah’.
The ‘Just A Day’ hitmakers’ first record since 2016’s ‘All Bright Electric’ sees frontman Grant Nicholas ponder how different it is being in a band in the “social media age”.
He also revealed that the tracks are written from the perspective of a “female rock star”, although the lyrical content is based on his own experiences.
Speaking about the concept for the album, Grant – who formed Feeder in 1994, with long-time bandmate Taka Hirose – said: “Everybody in music who has some success has a fear of the bubble bursting.
“A lot of things that come with success aren’t always positive.
“I wrote it with a female rock star in mind, but it was based upon my own experiences of being in a band, and what you see when you’re hanging out with other bands.
“It also touches on being a band in the social media age.
“It’s not just about being reviewed by a certain magazine anymore, it’s about being reviewed by virtually anyone who wants to do so.
“It’s a whole different world out there for everyone, of any age.”
The Welsh rockers have released the lead single ‘Fear of Flying’, which, like the rest of the 12-track LP, is “classic Feeder” but “stripped-back”.
Grant said: “It’s a classic Feeder record.
“I just write the songs which feel natural to me, and I have a vision of each of them in my mind like a short film.
“I wanted to make a lot of the songs really adaptable. “I didn’t want them to have be massively produced, I wanted them to also work in a stripped-back way.”
The band has experienced somewhat of a resurgence since the release of their top 10 ‘The Best of Feeder’ album in 2017.
As well as the new album, which is released on August 9, the ‘Buck Rogers’ hitmakers will also head out on a UK tour in autumn, kicking off in Portsmouth on November 1 and wrapping with two consecutive nights at London’s Roundhouse staring on November 22.
‘Fear of Flying’ is out now on all major streaming platforms.
The track-listing for ‘Tallulah’ is as follows:
1.’Youth’
2.’Blue Sky Blue’
3.’Daily Habit’
4.’Fear Of Flying’
5.’Rodeo’
6.’Tallulah’
7.’Shapes And Sounds’

Bret Michaels teases 2020 Poison tour and possible new music

OHMYGOSSIP — Bret Michaels says Poison will return in 2020 with a tour and “maybe” some new music.
The glam metal legends haven’t released a record of new material since 2002’s ‘Hollyweird’, but the frontman has teased fans that they are hoping to return to the studio.
When asked if they are plotting a comeback, Bret – who is joined by drummer Rikki Rockett, bassist Bobby Hall and lead guitarist C.C. DeVille in the band – told SiriusXM’s ‘Trunk Nation’: “One thousand percent.
“Next year, all of us back out, and we’re gonna make it unbelievable.”
On what fans can expect from them, he said: “We’re gonna put a new look together.
“Hopefully — hopefully — a [new] song or two.
“Even if we just get one good song together. I said, ‘Guys, let’s just write one awesome, kick-ass, modern-day, now, today, a ‘Nothin’ But A Good Time’, a modern-day ‘Talk Dirty To Me’, a ‘Ride The Wind’.
“Let’s just go in there and write one kick-ass song and let’s just take it out on the road with all the hits and have a great time.'”
The 56-year-old rocker has also had a successful solo career, with his 2010 album ‘Custom Built’ – which was inspired by his reality docu-series ‘Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It’ – topping Billboard’s Hard Rock list.
The ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’ hitmaker says the band works “in tandem” with his solo projects, and insisted it’s not “instead of” being with his bandmates.
He also admitted that he doesn’t see himself retiring from touring and making music anytime soon, because he lives to be on stage.
He explained: “I never do anything ‘instead of.’ It’s not like I’ve gotta leave Poison to do solo or vice versa; I just make it all work in tandem.
“And next year, we’re already talking about where to kick it off, where to start, and we’re gonna make it an incredible tour, and then mix that with the solo dates.
“It’s gonna just continue. ‘Cause at this point, this is what I not only love to do, it’s what I live and do.
“This is what I love to do — be out on the road making music — and Poison is gonna bring, again, an awesome show next year.”
Poison’s last tour saw them join Def Leppard on the ‘Nothing But A Good Time Tour’ with special guests Cheap Trick and Pop Evil in May and June 2018.

Shay Mitchell likes to let her ‘skin breathe’

OHMYGOSSIP — Shay Mitchell won’t wear an “ounce of make-up” on her days off.
The 31-year-old actress has revealed her secret to keeping her enviable glowing complexion, and it involves letting her skin “breathe” and recover after she has been on set with her hair and make-up artist wearing several different looks throughout the day.
She told PEOPLE: “I like to take days off to let my skin breathe. On any days that I’m not working, I won’t have an ounce of makeup on, even if I’m going to a friend’s house.”
The ‘You’ star also insisted that her favourite go-to products are La Mer’s The Concentrate and the prestigious brand’s Renewal Oil to give her skin an instant glow.
She added: “I don’t only use it as a moisturiser, I also mix it with my foundation. I just think their products are made from such high quality.”
And the brunette beauty explained that her favourite way to de-stress is to use aromatherapy oils in hot water and get her head over the bowl to open and clean her pores.
She said: “I love to heat up a big bowl of warm water, put a towel over my head, add a couple drops of either citrus or aromatherapy oils, and just veg out and don’t stress about stuff! I know, I know, it sounds easier than it is.”
The ‘Pretty Litlle Liars’ actress was named the Global Creative Brand Ambassador for cosmetic giant Buxom last year, and has since collaborated with the beauty company to create her own line of Plumping Lip Powders and brightly hued blushes.
However, Shay recently revealed that she was drawn to the partnership because she wanted to create a product that lasted all day and wouldn’t wear away.
Speaking to website Refinery29, Shay said: “Although I love getting glam, I don’t want to reapply a product consistently throughout the day. I’m somebody that does my make-up in the morning and I need it to last throughout the entire day, and that’s exactly what this blush [Wanderlust Primer-Infused Blushes] does. I think it’s always really fun to play around [with] the colours when you go away to different locations. If I’m going somewhere tropical, I tend to bring more of a pop of colour with me.”

Denise Richards will always include Charlie Sheen

OHMYGOSSIP — Denise Richards wouldn’t have cared if ex-husband Charlie Sheen had brought a prostitute to her wedding.
The 48-year-old actress tied the knot with Aaron Phypers in an intimate ceremony last September and her former spouse was among the guests as she thinks it’s important to include the ‘Anger Management’ actor – who she split from in 2005 after less than three years of marriage – in any event that involves their daughters Sam, 14, and 13-year-old Lola.
Speaking on ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’, Denise said: “No matter what’s gone down with Charlie and I, I invite Charlie to anything having to do with the kids and I.
“Even if he did bring a prostitute as his date, I wouldn’t care. It’s just, it is what it is.”
Denise – who also has adopted daughter Eloise, seven – previously admitted she was never “bitter” about her divorce, even when things were particularly difficult between herself and Charlie, 53.
She recently said: “I was never bitter about my divorce. Going through everything, it changed me. But I love life and I’m a glass-half-full kind of person. And I did my best to rise above it.
“Times were extremely negative and I would have to tell myself, this too shall pass.”
And despite the former ‘Two and a Half Men’ actor’s turbulent past, the ‘Wild Things’ star thinks it’s important for Charlie – who is now sober – to maintain a relationship with their daughters.
She said: “Whatever is going on with a couple, the children should not be privy to it.
“Obviously, there are times when emotions might flare up. But we’re human beings and we make mistakes. I know that when someone is struggling with addiction, sometimes choices are made that are not in the best judgment, and I have empathy for that. I want Charlie to be the best person and father he can be.”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus ‘hysterical’ over Veep end

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Louis-Dreyfus “wept like a baby” when filming wrapped on ‘Veep’.
The 58-year-old actress was “hysterical” on the last day of shooting the seventh and final season of the HBO political satire, in which she portrays President Selina Meyer.
She said: “I wept like a baby. The whole deal. I was hysterical.”
The award-winning actress – who has scooped six Emmys for the show – will miss her castmates now the show is over – and she’s also going to have a hard time saying goodbye to her alter ego.
She told People magazine: “What I’m gonna miss most is being with all these wonderful people, whom I adore more than I can possibly articulate.
“But I am going to miss playing a hyper-dysfunctional, narcissistic, undeveloped, ruthless human being.”
And after seven years on the show, Julia thinks she’s taken on some of her character’s more positive traits.
She said: “I think I have asserted myself in a way, in my career, that is important. But I understand Selina’s frustration and that certainly helped fuel the character.”
Julia has previously admitted she felt a mixture of “joy and grief” over the ending of the show.
She said: “I was so overcome with a joy and grief mashup, as this show ended, it really was surprising to me.
“I’m an emotional person anyway, but it really caught me by surprise. I think that’s because this show has been my baby for now eight years that I’ve felt fiercely protective and proud of.
“We were on location for four years, this team of actors and writers, then we moved to Los Angeles, and it worked, and you never know, it’s such a risk.”
Production of the final season of the show was delayed when the actress was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she revealed in September 2017.
She underwent her final round of chemotherapy in January 2018 and had surgery a month later, before getting back to work on ‘Veep’ that August.

Helen Worth ‘buzzing’ after TV BAFTA nod

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Worth is “buzzing” after earning a TV BAFTA nomination.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star is up the Virgin Media Must-See Moment Award – the only one of the spectacle’s accolades voted for by the public – after an epic, emotional monologue as Corrie’s Gail Rodwell following the suicide of loveable character Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) last year.
Lucy Fallon – who plays Helen’s on-screen granddaughter Bethany Platt – wrote on Twitter: “Our gorgeous Helen Worth is buzzing today because Gail’s monologue following Aidan’s death has been nominated for a BAFTA! PLS VOTE (sic)”
Helen will face competition for the award from BBC thriller ‘Bodyguard’, which has a nod for the scene when politician Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes) was assassinated, while ‘Peter Kay’s Car Share’ is up for the prize for a scene in which Sian Gibson’s Kayleigh causes chaos on a busy dual carriageway while trying to rescue a hedgehog.
‘Doctor Who’ – on which Helen starred as Mary Ashe in 1974 story ‘Colony in Space’ – is also up for the award for the sci-fi show’s historical civil rights movement episode.
It saw the Time Lord (Jodie Whittaker) and her companions go back in time to come face-to-face with American activist Rosa Parks, who was played by Vinette Robinson.
The moment was praised for the way it “captured Rosa’s powerful act of defiance on a segregated bus”.
Netflix makeover show ‘Queer Eye’ made the shortlist for promoting “positivity, well-being and inclusivity”, with lonely truck driver Tom’s dramatic transformation being the particular moment that made the list.
Helen – who has played Gail since 1974 – previously scooped the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2014 British Soap Awards.

Toni Collette joins Netflix film I’m Thinking of Ending Things

OHMYGOSSIP — Toni Collette is joining the cast of Netflix film ‘I’m Thinking of Ending Things’.
The 46-year-old actress has been added to the cast of Charlie Kaufman’s latest psychological thriller based on Iain Reid’s 2016 novel of the same name alongside Jessie Buckley and David Thewlis.
Reid’s debut novel centres on Jake and his unnamed girlfriend who takes him to meet her parents on a remote farm although she is thinking of ending their relationship.
During a pit stop on their way home, Jake’s girlfriend wanders off and finds herself in Jake’s old high school and the night quickly descend into an evening of nightmarish terror.
Although Toni and David’s characters have not yet been cast, it is thought they will play Jake’s parents and Jessie is set to play Jake’s girlfriend, while Jesse Plemons is set to play Jake.
Kaufman and Jesse have been attached to the project since the start of its development and the picture originally cast Brie Larson in the leading role, however, it is suspected due to promoting ‘Captain Marvel’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ her schedule was not suitable for filming.

The ‘Sixth Sense’ actress was also recently cast alongside Damian Lewis in ‘Dream Horse’.
Toni will take on the role of Jan Vokes, a working men’s club barmaid who recruits her reluctant husband, Brian, and a local accountant named Howard Davies – who will be portrayed by the ‘Billions’ actor – to help put together a syndicate of locals to breed a foal, which they name Dream Alliance and who goes on to become a successful racehorse.

Jennifer Garner: ‘I’m happiest when I look like myself’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Garner is “happiest” when she has a natural look.
The ’13 Going On 30′ star has opened up about her favorite makeup looks, but insisted she prefers to appear au-naturel and just wear a small amount of mascara and blusher on a day-to-day basis because she likes to see her “own skin”.
Speaking to PEOPLE, she said: “I’m the happiest and most comfortable when I just look like myself. I’ll use something on my lids that’s all I need. The less make-up I have to wear, and the more of my own skin that I can see, the happier I am.”
The 46-year-old actress – who has daughters Violet, 12, and Seraphina, nine, and six-year-old Samuel with ex-husband Ben Affleck – also opened up on the skincare lessons she has learned throughout her life.
Jennifer spent a lot of time sailing as a kid and subsequently her fair skin would always burn, so the ‘Wonder Park’ star makes sure to instill the importance of UV protection into her young children.
She added: “My parents were sailors, so when I was a young girl, my sisters and I spent most of our time on a boat. We would just burn and then peel it off and then burn again and peel it off. I try everything I can to make sure anyone younger than me who knows: you’re going to want to protect your skin.”
And Jennifer – who is a Neutrogena brand ambassador – explained that she stashes sunscreen “everywhere” in her home because it is such a staple part of her beauty regime and keeps your skin safe from the sun.
She continued: “Keep sunscreen everywhere, and always apply more than you think you need. You just have to be a nerd about it, and get it done!”
