OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Green has to “feel like herself” when she is on the red carpet.
The 38-year-old actress thinks haute couture dresses are “wonderful” because she “enjoys” wearing them, however, she doesn’t want her occasion outfits not to reflect her personal style.
She told UK Vogue: “It’s wonderful to dress up for the red carpet…If Alexander McQueen gives me a dress, I’m going to enjoy wearing it. That said, I have to feel like myself in my clothes. I work with the stylist Leslie Fremar. She’s a little bit edgy, and she really listens to you.
“I always prefer a dress that feels original, whether it’s Iris Van Herpen or Tom Ford. Original, like Dumbo!”
When she isn’t on the red carpet, Eva likes to keep things casual.
She said: “In terms of day-to-day style, I’m all about being comfortable. I prefer flats to heels, and I wear a lot of Rick Owens and Ann Demeulemeester – leggings and flowing tops, especially. If I’m home though, I may just stay in sweatpants.”
And Eva credits her glowing complexion to Boot0’s No.7 beauty range and drinking “lots of water” mixed with a healthy diet.
She added: “No. 7 from boots. My skin is quite dry, and their cream is incredibly nourishing. It’s boring, but I also drink lots of water and eat well. That makes more of a difference than any product. That said, I do love a sheet mask.”
The ‘Casino Royale’ star plays Colette Marchant in Tim Burton’s upcoming live action remake of the 1941 Disney classic, ‘Dumbo’, and Eva has explained that the role was “special” because there were so many “over-the-top sets”.
She said: “What made filming special though was that there were so many really over-the-top sets. It felt like going back to the golden age of Hollywood, particularly the scenes with all of the acrobats and spectators in Disneyland.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Keith Richards only realised how much “pressure” was on Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger when he went solo.
The ‘Satisfaction’ group’s guitarist – who completes the band with drummer Charlie Watts and bassist Ronnie Wood – has admitted that he had no idea how difficult it is to front a band, until he decided to do his own thing.
Speaking to SiriusXM’s ‘Laying It Down With Steve Jordan’, he admitted: “All that pressure of being the frontman.
“I mean, I remember some disastrous shows, Vegas, I’d blown the throat out totally and somehow we managed to do it and there was still a standing ovation.
“But you learn a lot about being the frontman, that nonstop … with the Stones I can poke myself out in the front when I want and retire with Charlie with the music.
“Not to have that option … I did understand a lot of the pressure on a frontman.”
The 75-year-old rocker went through a period of unrest in 1986, when relations between himself and the iconic rock ‘n’ roll group’s frontman, also 75, reached an all time low during the making of their album ‘Dirty Work’, which the former described as “forget about it times”.
Keith felt the need to find a new challenge and so he started working with drummer Steve Jordan – who he was in conversation with – who contributed to ‘Dirty Work’, and admitted he was “dragged kicking and screaming” into the studio to start work on ‘Talk Is Cheap’, which was released two years later in 1988.
Jagger had also released his solo LP ‘Primitive Cool’ the year before, which no doubt spurred him on even more.
In his chat with Steve, Keith also opened up about feeling like he wanted more than the Stones at the time.
He said: “It all occurred because after 20 odd years of The Rolling Stones, there are obviously going to be, as point, it happened in 85 I guess.
“That there is a feeling of you know, as if The Rolling Stones ain’t enough, to spread wings and see what else you can do.
“Mick found out and I found out.”
The guitar legend went on to release another solo LP, ‘Crosseyed Heart’, in 2015, and the compilation album ‘Vintage Vinos’, comprised of remastered solo and X-Pensive Winos tracks performed live at the Hollywood Palladium in 1988, was released 2010.
The 30th anniversary reissue of ‘Talk Is Cheap’ is released on Friday (29.03.19) via BMG.

OHMYGOSSIP — Solange Knowles has had to “learn to accept a lot of things” about her body.
The 32-year-old singer recently released her fourth studio project ‘When I Get Home’, and has said that when she started recording the album, her body “took a lot” from her, and she was forced to re-evaluate the way she looked at her own body image.
When asked on Twitter where she was spiritually with her new record, she said: “my body took a lot from me when i started this record
“real scary times, ill tell y’all one day
“i had to learn to accept a lot of things about myself & this short time we got here. i had some real ugly parts i need (& still need) to work thru (sic)”
But the ‘Cranes in the Sky’ hitmaker says she then redirected her attention to doing things that would make her “confront the things [she is] most afraid of”, and she now “believes” in herself more than she did before.
She added: “but thru this albummmmm….
“i tried to do the work that would simply bring me the most joy
“that would make me confront the things i am most afraid of
“to reinforce those things until i really believed them
“to realize time & space are big mysterious and I can only align on my own
“still got further to gooo (sic)”
Solange’s comments come after she previously admitted she always feels “a bit unbalanced” when she creates new music.
She said: “When I am creating new work, I always feel a bit unbalanced. The circles get darker, my jaw a bit tighter, my hair less combed, my spirits more unaligned. I don’t sleep very well. I’m always buzzing.”
Before the release of ‘When I Get Home’ – which hit shelves on March 1 – the ‘Don’t Wish Me Well’ singer said she wasn’t “interested in entertainment at this moment”.
She said: “I’m clear within myself that I’m not interested in entertainment at this moment. That might change. There might be a moment where I decide, ‘Hey, I love the game.’ For right now, I’m not [there]. I’ve been working in Laurel Canyon, Topanga Canyon and Jamaica. I actually have been following Joni Mitchell. It has been really wild. The house that I was just recording in [in] Jamaica, I stayed there for four days. And then the last day, the owner was like, ‘You know that mural that’s downstairs in the spare bedroom that the engineer booth is in? Joni Mitchell painted that.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Jackson finds music “therapeutic”.
The 20-year-old model and actress – who is the daughter of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson – has recently been working on her budding music career with her band The Soundflowers, and sources have now said she finds creating music helps to relax her.
An insider said: “She is very musically motivated and it’s been therapeutic for her.”
The art form even helped the ‘Star’ actress find her boyfriend Gabriel Glenn, who is also a musician with The Soundflowers, and who has been “super supportive” of Paris since they began dating.
A second source told E! News: “He’s a musician and they play together in a band. [They’ve been together] for several months and he is super supportive and understanding about how hard the last few weeks have been for Paris.
“He’s been there for her and they have grown closer through this. He’s been a constant in her life and she really needs him right now.”
Paris’ music therapy comes after she announced she was taking a break from her career and social media to work on her mental health, although she dismissed rumours she’d checked into rehab.
She wrote on Instagram: “the media is exaggerating per usual.. yes i’ve taken a break from work and social media and my phone because it can be too much sometimes, and everyone deserves a break, but i am happy and healthy and feeling better than ever! gabriel and i have some new music we’re stoked to share with y’all! (@thesoundflowers) hope you guys’ new year started out with lots of love and light and all the things. i’ll be back soon!! xxox (sic)”
Paris had previously opened up about her battle with depression and says it stemmed from hanging out with “a lot of older people doing a lot of crazy things”.
She explained: “I was doing a lot of things that 13-, 14-, 15-year-olds shouldn’t do. I tried to grow up too fast, and I wasn’t really that nice of a person. I was crazy. I was actually crazy. I was going through a lot of, like teen, angst. And I was also dealing with my depression and my anxiety without any help.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Bella would be open to returning to WWE in the future.
The 35-year-old wrestler and reality star announced her retirement from the industry this week as she claimed she felt “too old” to keep up with the extensive travel and began to find her career path “really tough”.
But according to TMZ, sources say there’s no bad blood between Nikki and WWE bosses, as there’s even a chance she could return to the ring in the future.
A source told the publication: “She still loves wrestling, still loves the WWE and would be down to make cameos in the future – as long as the timing is right.”
The ‘Total Bellas’ star made her retirement decision after a recent trip overseas was particularly rough on her body, and said this week she wanted to step back to focus on other business ventures.
She said: “[The tour] was good but I just feel like I’m too old for that travel.
“The travel was really, really rough. So, I realised, I was like, why am I doing this? I don’t feel good. I really am ready to hang up the jersey, like I can say it fully.”
The two-time WWE Divas champion has had a successful 12-year career in the ring, however Nikki is looking to focus on future endeavours like her successful fashion line, and her much-anticipated ‘The Bellas Podcast’, which is launching on Wednesday (27.03.19).
Meanwhile, Nikki’s twin sister Brie Bella – who makes up the second half of iconic wrestling duo The Bella Twins – also previously announced she was retiring from wrestling following her bout against Ronda Rousey at WWE’s first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event ‘Evolution’ in October.
Brie claimed she wanted to spend more time with her 22-month-old daughter Birdie – whom she has with her husband Daniel Bryan – as her family plans to move back to Phoenix, Arizona, to escape the limelight.
She said: “So I decided after Evolution, I’m gonna be fully retired. Fully done and that Bryan and I are looking for a house in Phoenix because we’re moving back … Birdie is truly number one.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Hammond felt “like a star” when she appeared on the ‘Hollyoaks’ set on Monday (25.03.19).
The ‘This Morning’ roving reporter was “very excited” to visit the fictional village – which is based in Liverpool, but set in Chester – and appeared to hint she could be making a cameo on the Channel 4 soap soon.
Speaking on Hollyoaks’ Instagram Story, she said: “I’m on ‘Hollyoaks’. This is so very exciting. I feel like a star!”
Alison appeared on set alongside Niamh Blackshaw (Juliet Quinn), Jacob Roberts (Damon Kinsella) and Nikki Sanderson (Maxine Minniver).
And she was delighted to be clutching a fictional £5,000 cheque mysteriously addressed to Maxine.
She added: “I’ve got a cheque for £5,000, which you can’t win.”
One message on Hollyoaks’ Instagram Story also hinted Alison may have landed a cameo in the soap, as the comment “new cast member??” was written alongside a clip of her filming a piece to camera.
Jacob took Alison on a tour of Price Slice, but she was left “disappointed” to discover the fictional eatery was full of fake food.
He said: “We’ve got some Heck sausages here. There’s nothing in it, it’s false food.”
Alison added: “There’s nothing in it? It’s fake? That’s so disappointing.”
‘Hollyoaks’ declined to comment further on Alison’s potential cameo, but fellow ITV stars Linda Robson and Janet Street-Porter, who are regular panellists on ‘Loose Women’, made a joint ‘Oaks’ cameo in November.
The pair were among the guests at Russ Owen (Stuart Manning) and Mercedes McQueen’s (Jennifer Metcalfe) wedding.
Linda said: “We were wedding guests at ‘Hollyoaks’. It was very explosive. I can’t reveal anything else.”
Janet added: “We do make an impact. We’re featured.”
And Janet certainly did make an impact on set.
When asked by Linda what she ate at the pub on her lunch break, she said: “I just had chips.”
Linda asked: “Oh yeah, what did it give you?”
Janet replied: “Wind.”

OHMYGOSSIP — William Sadler will be reprising his role as Death in the third ‘Bill & Ted’ movie.
The 68-year-old actor will return to play the Grim Reaper in the upcoming sequel ‘Bill & Ted Face the Music’ – which comes 28 years after the second instalment of the saga, ‘Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey’ which saw Death challenges Bill (Alex Winters) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) in a game for their souls, which the pair ultimately win.
The film’s official Twitter account confirmed the casting news in a tweet which read: “For those who have been asking, @Wm_Sadler will totally be reprising his role! (sic)”
Alex, 53, and Keanu, 54, will reprise their titular roles as Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan this summer, with the film scheduled for release in summer 2020.
The actors announced the news in a brief video standing in front of Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl making a joke at the expense of their alter egos rock star ambitions.
Alex noted: “Where we’ll never play.”
Keanu added: “Never play.”
The pair then thanked fans for repeatedly demanding a third film.
Alex said: “We owe you a huge debt of gratitude, and we wanted to say thank you. And be excellent.”
Keanu repeated: “Be excellent.”
An official synopsis for the movie teased the appearance of a “few music legends” as the two friends set out to save “life as we know it”.
It stated: “Yet to fulfil their rock and roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tessa Thompson wants an all-female Marvel team as there’s “so many incredible, talented women” she wants to work with.
The 35-year-old actress made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ as Valkyrie and has revealed that since ‘Captain Marvel’ – the first female-led stand-alone film in the MCU starring Brie Larson as the titular hero – she’s “excited” about the possibility of creating a squad of female heroes.
Speaking to CinemaBlend, she said: “Brie is a friend, and I just like hanging out with her; and I’m so excited. Obviously, it’s been a long time coming for Marvel to have a movie led by one of their female characters that exists in the canon
“There was this whole idea that I was on Kevin Feige [Marvel President] about doing an all-female, A-Force or something, but really it just has to do with the fact that there’s so many incredible, talented women in the MCU that I just want to work with selfishly.
“So I’m like, ‘Well, why not do it in the context of like fighting folks and hanging out in space?’ ”
The ‘Creed II’ star has previously admitted she can’t wait to see what happens with the strong women in the MCU and insisted 2018’s ‘Black Panther’ – the first Marvel film with a predominantly black cast – was full of “incredible women”.
She said: “In this film, there are all these incredible women in the form of Angela Bassett and Lupita [Nyong’o] and Danai [Gurira].
“We’re going to see Brie Larson and her standalone with Dewanda Wise, who is also here tonight, doing ‘Captain Marvel’.
“We’ll see what happens with Valkyrie next, but yeah, the women rule supreme; they always have. But I think we’ll see in the next phase [of Marvel films] that really translate on screen in a real way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was released in China with all references to Queen singer Freddie Mercury’s sexuality removed.
The Oscar-winning rock band biopic starring Rami Malek as the late frontman was released in China on Friday (22.03.19) however all references to the musician’s homosexual tendencies and AIDS diagnosis were censored.
The legendary singer – who is considered to be bisexual as he had significant relationships with men and women in his life – died of AIDS-related bronchial pneumonia in 1991 at the age of 45.
Any mention of the word “gay” was cut from the picture as well as a scene in which Freddie and the rest of the band – Brian May, Rodger Taylor, and John Deacon – appeared in drag while shooting the music video for ‘I Want to Break Free’.
The film shows the relationship between Freddie and his ex-girlfriend and life-long friend Mary Austin, however, removes all mention of his romance with his long-term partner Jim Hutton – who remained in a relationship with Freddie until his death at the age of 45.
While homosexuality is not illegal in China, the Chinese state has banned depictions of what is considered “abnormal sexual behaviour” in film and television.
Adam Lambert – who has been performing vocals for the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ group on tour since 2012 – previously praised flamboyant for being “ahead of his time” and has discussed a lot with bandmates Roger Taylor and Brian May how proud Freddie would have been of the way sexuality is much more open in the mainstream music industry now.
Adam said: “Roger was like, ‘I think he would be really open and upfront about it because that’s what he was like to all of us.’
“[His sexuality] was just taboo in the media. But he was very matter of fact once he’d come to terms with it. And from what I have ascertained, he was fully bisexual. He was dabbling everywhere. I think he was ahead of his time.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Grohl’s rare 1992 solo album has sold on eBay for $565.55 (£428.86).
A copy of the cassette tape of the former Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman’s record, which he released under the name ‘Late!’ and recorded two years after he joined the ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ group, was recently swept up by a fan on the online auction site for the impressive sum of money.
The album was originally called ‘Pocketwatch’ and featured demos, some of which were “re-worked” for his two bands.
In the description on the auction website, the seller wrote: “Rare cassette (purchased in 1994 via mail-order) of songs that Dave Grohl demoed, some of which would be re-recorded for either Nirvana or the Foo Fighters.”
The 10-track record was released via the Simple Machines’ Took Cassette Series and the 50-year-old rocker was invited to release it on CD by the label, but he turned down the offer.
It has been a great month for memorabilia for Nirvana fans.
The iconic grunge band’s late frontman Kurt Cobain’s iconic hospital gown that he wore when they played Reading Festival in 1992 recently went up for auction.
The ‘Come As You Are’ singer wore the legendary garment on stage at the annual music festival for what was his last performance in the UK – before his tragic death two years later – and the famous gown is up for sale via RR Auction is expected to sell for $50,000 (£40,000).
Nirvana’s 1992 set at Reading Festival was one of their most memorable, because Kurt famously wore the off-white hospital gown to poke fun at the mounting rumours about his health.
He even had music journalist Everett True push him on stage in a wheelchair before opening the performance with a few notes of Bette Midler’s ‘The Rose’ and pretending to collapse.
Since Cobain’s death, the hospital gown has been in the possession of a fan, who said they received it from the singer’s then wife, Courtney Love, at a Seattle vigil following his suicide.
A letter accompanying the garment read: “Late that evening, Courtney Love showed up accompanied by Kat Bjelland of Babes in Toyland with a bag of Kurt’s clothes.
“She was visibly grief-stricken and proceeded to pass the clothes out while asking trivia about Kurt’s life… She handed me his hospital gown from the legendary Reading Festival performance from 1992.
“She then cried on my shoulder for a while. I tried to say something reassuring about his love for her and she pushed me away, insisting that he only loved Frances… The entire incident was sad. And weird. And it blew my teenage mind.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Keane have confirmed they are putting the finishing touches to their first album in six years.
The ‘Everybody’s Changing’ hitmakers went on an indefinite hiatus in 2013, a year after releasing their last record ‘Strangeland’, and after frontman Tom Chaplin admitted he would need to repair his “complicated” relationship with bandmate Tim Rice-Oxley, it was recently revealed that they put their differences aside to hit the studio to make new music.
Following the release of his two solo albums, 2016’s ‘The Wave’ and 2017’s ‘Twelve Tales of Christmas’, Tom met with Tim – the band’s songwriter and pianist – to listen to songs he’d been working on for his own solo project, but the pair ended up turning the “emotional” and “personal” collection of songs into a new Keane record.
Tom explained: “I thought it was the most personal, most vulnerable set of songs that I’d ever heard and I was very drawn to that. It felt like a story that I could help articulate.”
Tom and Tim have reunited with drummer Richard Hughes and bassist Jesse Quin for the record, which will be released later this year, and they are set to play a series of festival shows in the UK and Europe this summer.
The band will support Robbie Williams at Barclaycard presents British Summertime Hyde Park on July 14 and play Cornbury Festival in Oxfordshire on July 6.
Life in Keane didn’t come easy for singer Tom, who saw his life spiral out of control in the mid-2000s due to his addictions to drink and drugs, and after picking himself back up again, he suffered a relapse in 2015.
The 40-year-old star admitted in 2017 that reuniting with his bandmates would only be possible if he and Tim mended their relationship to make the group a “happy” place again.
Opening up about his difficult friendship with the 42-year-old keyboardist – he said at the time: “Me and Tim have a really complicated relationship. We have great love and respect, but there are other elements in that relationship. I think in order to do something with Keane we would have to explore ways to make it a happy and positive experience again. And at the moment it doesn’t feel for me it’s the right thing to be doing.”
The ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ hitmakers – who made their live comeback performing the song on BBC’s ‘Comic Relief’ earlier this month – are expected to announce further live dates in due course.

OHMYGOSSIP — Susanna Reid will face Piers Morgan at this year’s ‘Soccer Aid for Unicef’ as the match’s first female manager.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-hosts will be in opposite dugouts for Unicef UK and ITV’s star-studded charity football game at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge this summer, with a number of the sport’s greats featuring alongside celebrities for the annual fundraiser.
Susanna will manage England alongside former national team coach Sam Allardyce – who won last year’s fixture – while her co-host Piers will be paired with ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ winner Harry Redknapp.
The fixture will fall on June 16 – Father’s Day – and Harry’s son Jamie is looking forward to lining up against his dad when he plays alongside the likes of reality stars Mark Wright and Joe Wicks for the England team.
He said: “Even though we’re on opposite teams, it’s an honour to be able to play against my dad in ‘Soccer Aid for Unicef’ this Father’s Day.
“Some of my best memories of my childhood are playing with my dad and being with him at the football, and it’s an incredible feeling to know we’re making more playtime possible for kids around the world by getting together for this special game.”
For Harry and Piers, their hopes will be boosted by Usain Bolt’s return, while Chelsea legend Didier Drogba will be back at Stamford Bridge for the event.
Money raised will go towards Unicef’s work protecting children in danger around the world, and striving to give them the chance to grow up happy, healthy and safe to play.
Robbie Williams, ‘Soccer Aid for Unicef’ co-founder and Unicef UK Ambassador, said: “The ability to play is one of the most important things in any child’s life. It’s how they make friends, how they learn who they are and about the world around them, it’s so vital.
“I’ve seen first-hand the important work Unicef does around the world helping to make sure every child can have a happy, healthy and safe childhood, to be able to play like all children should.
“I dread to think what my children would be like without play, they’re so bright and happy and its absolutely everything to them. I hope everyone gets involved this summer with Soccer Aid for Unicef, we can all play our part to help kids around the world just be kids.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV have confirmed Amanda Burton has joined the cast of ‘Marcella’.
The ‘Silent Witness’ actress will appear alongside fellow newcomer Aaron McCusker – who played Freddie Mercury’s partner Jim Hutton in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ – in ITV’s crime drama third series, and filming has got underway.
Amanda will play Maguire crime family matriarch Katherine, with former ‘Shameless’ actor Aaron playing her son Finn, and Hugo Speer will reprise his role as Frank Young after a brief appearance at the end of the previous season.
As well as new faces – including the likes of Kelly Gough, Eugene O’Hare, Paul Kennedy, Martin McCann and Michael Colgan – Ray Ranthaki will be back for the new eight-part run as Rav Sangha.
Leading star Anna Friel will be back in the title role as filming gets underway on location in Belfast, and she is excited for the show to “delve” into the character’s “unsettled world”.
She said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be taking on the role of Marcella again and am very grateful to ITV and Netflix for giving me the chance to delve into her unsettled world once more.
“Everyone has been so supportive of the show and I am loving being so widely welcomed by the great city of Belfast.
“I can’t wait for the viewers to see what this series has in store.”
The new series will see Marcella in Belfast as an undercover detective using a new identity, Keira, and she infiltrates the infamous Maguire crime family.
There are questions raised about how much she has embraced her new personality and left her old self behind.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pharrell Williams “lost a bet” with his friend when he created his Chanel-Pharrell capsule collection.
The 45-year-old singer created an exclusive unisex capsule range for the prestigious French label alongside its late creative director Karl Lagerfeld – who passed away last month at the age of 85 – and the venture meant he had to buy his pal an expensive watch because his unnamed buddy had always predicted he’d work with the designer.
He said: “It’s kind of surreal for me because a buddy of mine said to me, you know one day you’re going to end up working with them, you’re going to make some stuff with them, I said ‘Ah whatever, no I’m not’. Then he made me a bet, he said, ‘Hey if you end up working with them you gotta buy me one of those watches.’
“At that time, gender fluidity wasn’t as loud and pronounced as it is now, I just was doing it because it’s what I want to wear, it’s my thing. I love and celebrate individuality. I get invited to the house, the maison, I meet Karl and all these incredible women and ended up in the campaign, then the film, and now we have a campaign and another film. I lost the bet but it’s a bet that I’ve been happy to lose.”
The ‘Lemon’ hitmaker was given the creative freedom to “push” the brand’s “heritage”for his limited edition collection.
Speaking behind-the-scenes in a video titled ‘The Making Of The Chanel-Pharrell Capsule Collection’, he said: “Gabrielle Coco Chanel didn’t see partitions, and it’s interesting, because neither did the brand when it came to giving me a shot.
“[Chanel] is not afraid of these things, just like [Gabrielle] wasn’t afraid. There doesn’t need to be boundaries as long as you can hold onto the heritage and continue to push it, like Karl always [did]. We don’t need walls, we need bridges.”
The Chanel-Pharrell collection will be available in select stores from April 4.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lupita Nyong’o’s different hairstyles in ‘Us’ “represent her as a woman”.
The 36-year-old actress plays the lead character in Jordan Peele’s much-anticipated horror movie, which follows the story of a family faced with their worst nightmare when they return to the mother’s childhood home.
And according to the star’s hairstylist Camille Friend, Lupita’s hair looks were created to be “modern” and “natural” for her two roles as Adelaide Wilson and Red.
Speaking to the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column, Friend said: “Jordan is one of the best filmmakers of our time. He’s really an awesome, awesome guy. I can’t wait to do another film with him, but a lot of my dialogue for Lupita’s look was really with her.
“We came up with the sisterlock [hairstyle] because she wanted to do something that was natural, plus I love it because it’s nothing that has been seen on camera before.
“We’re always trying to push the envelope and do things that are different, even within the natural [hair] genre. It represents her as a woman. It’s really modern and what people are doing now.”
Friend also explained that she was constantly experimenting with different styles using wigs because the director wanted a “bad look” for every “good” one they created.
She added: “One thing that was interesting about ‘Us,’ we had to save so many looks. Say Lupita was in her ‘good look’ — we had to have somebody in her ‘bad look’ because Jordan always wanted someone over her shoulder.”
Lupita – who hit the film’s press tour in bold outfits incorporating different coloured contact lenses – previously revealed that she has been debuting risky outfit choices because it represents her roles.
Opening up about her wardrobe she said: “Why not, a horror film is a really good excuse to be weird.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown has partnered with UEFA to support women’s football.
The 15-year-old actress has declared her support for girls’ and women’s football, as she’s been named as an official ambassador for UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) and their successful Together #WePlayStrong campaign.
Millie’s work with the organisation will see her team up with European football’s governing body to help inspire more teenage girls to play the sport, explaining how she wanted to become a footballer when she was younger.
The ‘Stranger Things’ star is an avid supporter of Liverpool F.C., and has said she was “really excited” to get stuck in with the campaign.
In a statement, she said: “I’ve grown up playing football with my family and we are all are huge Liverpool fans, so I was really excited when UEFA approached me to join the squad. What I love about Together #WePlayStrong is its values: they’re not only centred around football but also friendship, building confidence, teamwork and equality.”
To mark the partnership, Millie surprised a group of young girls and joined in with a football skills session organised by UEFA at Wembley Stadium in London.
She added: “Kicking the ball around with the girls was really cool and fun. It felt great to be part of a team that has such a strong sense of unity. Even though it felt a little intimidating to join in on a football session for the first time in a while, I had so much fun and would encourage any girl thinking about trying the sport to just give it a go. My journey into acting has so many parallels with these young footballers – overcoming challenges and showing perseverance to express yourself – so it’s inspiring to see how much confidence playing football gives them.”
Together #WePlayStrong aims to make football more culturally relevant and aspirational for girls in their teenage years, where they traditionally drop out in large numbers.
