Cary Fukunaga open to Maniac season 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Cary Fukunaga would “definitely” be interested in a second season of ‘Maniac’.
The 41-year-old director – whose hugely popular previous show ‘True Detective’ only ran for one series – has admitted he would be tempted by another run of his latest Netflix project.
Addressing the future of ‘Maniac’, he told the Hollywood Reporter: “When you spend that much time writing and developing these things, they exist in your mind as if real people existed.
“We can very easily figure out how to continue that story if Netflix wanted to.”
However, Cary explained he did work on the project with the idea of giving it a definitive end rather than hinting at the possibility of having more of a story to tell.
He added: “We also wrote it to be a complete in one season. Were it to be turned into other seasons, there are ways to look at sequels.
“But we weren’t necessarily looking at it in a classic multi-season television way, throwing up a bunch of juicy morsels like bait for people to tune in for another season.
“We really tried to – as much as possible – satisfyingly end the story by the end.”
Meanwhile, the filmmaker will be at the helm of ‘Bond 25’, and he has admitted he would love to see ‘Luther’ actor Idris Elba take on the iconic role.
He said: “That would be pretty cool to have Idris and I do a Bond film together. He can drive cars really well, he’s a gear-head, and he can do the action. If they wanted him to play Bond, he could do it.”

Cynthia Erivo wants self-help book

OHMYGOSSIP — Cynthia Erivo wants to write a self-help book.
The 31-year-old actress has been offered a deal to pen a tome of her own, and though she rejected a request to submit an autobiography, she’s keen to use her work to help other people.
Explaining why she turned down the memoir offer, she said: “I’m only 31, I’ve only begun my life!
“I would love to use the book as a way to give people permission to follow a dream, to be steadfast in a belief and to know that literally anything is possible. An-y-thing.”
Cynthia is close to her mother, Edith, and her sister Stephanie but was disowned by her father at a London Underground station when she was 16 following a spurt of occasional visits where he had paid her and her sibling very little attention.
She recalled to Rolling Stone magazine: “He said, ‘I don’t want to see you or your sister again.’ And he stuck true to his word.”
The award-winning star doesn’t view her estrangement from her dad as a “trauma”, she admitted it has affected her in her career choices.
She said: “We all have small things that affect our lives. I don’t know that that is a trauma. And if it was, I learned how to deal with that trauma. I think it comes out in the roles I choose and the decisions I make.”
The ‘Bad Times at the El Royale’ actress is proud of her toned physique and is happy to show off her exercise regime on Instagram.
She said: “My body is muscular, and I won’t shy away from it, which a lot of women are forced to do. I want to be an example for women who are afraid of their own strength and fitness to embrace it.
“And I don’t want to be given a role that requires I pretend I can do something when, if I put my mind to it, I actually can do it myself, without someone having to step in for me. I want to be able to do the Tom Cruise roles, the superhero roles. I’m not going to pretend I’m not strong.”

Chris Zylka to focus on career

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Zylka plans to focus on his career after splitting from Paris Hilton.
The ‘Leftovers’ actor let his work sit on the backburner during his relationship with the heiress and didn’t film anything after they got engaged in January.
But now the pair have gone their separate ways, the 33-year-old actor is now pursuing some projects he’s been offered, sources told TMZ.
Chris filmed ‘The Death and Life of John F. Donovan’ before he began dating Paris and it’s due for release soon and he will have the time to promote the project alongside co-star Natalie Portman.
It was recently claimed Chris wants Paris’ engagement ring back but the 37-year-old heiress refused as it was a gift from a friend of hers, celebrity jeweller Michael Greene.
A source close to the couple said: “The ring is hers.”
However a spokesperson for the star insists Chris did buy the ring and “has his own money”.
Meanwhile, sources previously claimed that the broken engagement didn’t come as a surprise because no one ever expected the pair to make it down the aisle.
An insider said: “This wedding was never going to happen. They never had an engagement party and Chris’ parents never even met Paris’ parents. They postponed the 11/11 date without a new date. No one is surprised by this at all.
“Paris got caught up in wanting a wedding and she just didn’t think about the marriage part. It was never going to work with Chris … They broke up a few weeks ago. The relationship moved very fast, and she realised it wasn’t right for her. She is traveling the world for her skincare and perfume. She wishes him all the best and hopes they can remain friends.”

Suki Waterhouse is ‘overwhelmed’ by the internet

OHMYGOSSIP — Suki Waterhouse gets “overwhelmed” when she surfs the internet because of how “critical” people are.
The 26-year-old model-turned-actress plays Sarah in the upcoming thriller ‘Assassination Nation’, which sees four friends stick together as an anonymous hacker reveals their town’s secrets, and the star believes the plot is a mirror to how society is now because people are so “aggressive” online.
Speaking to The I Paper, Suki said: “I go online sometimes and feel overwhelmed. There’s so many people screaming into a black hole: what is right to be? It’s aggressive. What you should think. There’s such a prevalent righteousness.
“It is in our nature to judge and criticise. Humans are naturally very inclusive instead of exclusive. But inclusive in that we’re actually quite tribal: we have small groups of people we look out for.”
Suki also confessed that she thinks it’s tough “being a woman right now” because there are so many “different messages” being “thrown” around.
She added: “I don’t think people understand the hundreds of millions of different messages being thrown at women right now. On the one hand, there’s very much a ‘f**k men’, empowered mentality where you’ve got to be independent. It’s all about you and yourself and you don’t need anything else. But then you’re up against the very human thing as well of wanting a boyfriend and wanting boys to like you. You’ve got brigades of people who are so certain of what is right and anyone who misses that mark whatsoever is wrong. The critical thinking part is slipping away, and it’s whatever you can say that’s the most angry, the most vicious, the most filled with vitriol that will get you the most attention. There doesn’t seem to be much space for anything in between.”

EastEnders spoilers: Kat and Alfie set for Christmas showdown

OHMYGOSSIP — Kat Slater and Alfie Moon are reportedly set for a huge row on ‘EastEnders’ over Christmas.
The festive season will feature some drama in Albert Square when Kat (Jessie Wallace) discovers that her husband – played by Shane Richie – has a secret love child with her cousin Hayley (Katie Jarvis) after a drunken one night stand.
It’s also said that the storyline – which is set to come to a head on Christmas Day (25.12.18) – will see Alfie shocked too, as he doesn’t know Hayley has had the baby.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column: “The scenes will be classic Slaters. It will be a huge row and will be carnage.
“It will hark back to the days of Kat yelling at Zoe about being her mum all those years ago.
“Alfie is going to have a big headache, come Boxing Day, and it won’t be because of the Christmas wine.”
Soap star Shane Richie is back on the show for the second time this year after initially reprising his role back in May.
Alfie’s May return was kept firmly under wraps by ‘EastEnders’ bosses after Shane met with executive producer John Yorke about a comeback, and the producers went to extreme lengths to ensure nobody knew he was back.
Shane added: “We had code names, censored scripts, cars with blacked out windows.
“Obviously John and the team wanted to keep it a surprise for everyone.
“It was exciting to be back at Elstree, especially without anyone knowing.”
Before Alfie’s ‘EastEnders’ return earlier this year, viewers last saw the character in the soap’s 2017 spin-off show, ‘Kat and Alfie: Redwater’.
The programme saw Kat and Alfie head to Ireland to find her secret son, but the trip nearly killed the pair of them, and the series concluded with the fates of the beloved characters unknown.
Kat was involved in a potentially-devastating boat accident and Alfie, who has a brain tumour, and was last seen on a hospital bed.

Jada Pinkett Smith defends talking to daughter about domestic violence

OHMYGOSSIP — Jada Pinkett Smith felt it was “important” to have her daughter Willow Smith present when she spoke about domestic violence, so she could learn from her.
The 47-year-old actress openly discussed a time when an ex-boyfriend became “aggressive” with her during her Facebook Watch series ‘Red Table Talk’ earlier this week, and has defended her decision to speak about the heavy topic in front of her 18-year-old daughter Willow.
Speaking during Wednesday’s (21.11.18) discussion about the latest episode, Jada – who has Willow, as well as 20-year-old son Jaden, with husband Will Smith – said: “A lot of people were talking about the idea of having Willow at the table and talking about this subject matter. I just need for people to understand that Willow’s not always at the table to talk about experiences or to act as an expert of any kind, but as a student because her mother and her grandmother have gone through a lot of things in life and it’s really about her hearing about our experiences and us being open to understanding what is happening in her life as well.”
The ‘Girls Trip’ star insisted that discussing the topic in the presence of her daughter would also help “prevent” the teenager from ending up in similar relationships.
She added: “This is a conversation. And I think it’s important that we understand and I hope that we can be even more inclusive in our own families with our young adults, because that’s how we learn. It’s called prevention as well.”
During the talk show on Monday (19.11.18), Jada had alleged her former partner became aggressive with her in the car, and she had run into the house and grabbed “a big old knife” to defend herself.
She said at the time: “I ran to the house, I had to take my clothes off, I had to take off my heels, and I always travel with a black Russell hoodie and black Russell sweats just in case something pops off.
“And I remember jumping in that sweatsuit, grabbing a big old knife from the kitchen, and hiding in his son’s room. And I’ll never forget, he came through the back sliding door, like on a creepy creep creep, like he was going to sneak up on me or something like that …
“I came out of his son’s bedroom and I was like, ‘Don’t come near me.’ And he said the quintessential line you hear in movies all the time, ‘You think I would hurt you? I would never do that to you.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my god, I am in trouble.’ I was in trouble.”

Daniel Radcliffe won’t watch Harry Potter play

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe won’t go and see ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ because he doesn’t think it would be a “relaxing evening” for him.
The 29-year-old actor starred as the titular wizard in the eight movies adapted from J.K. Rowling’s book series, but he won’t be heading to the theatre to see the play – which was first performed in 2016, five years after the last movie was released – because he thinks other audience members would be “watching” him to see how he reacts.
He said: “I’ve been asked this a lot, and I feel like I always give a really boring, terrible answer. I’m probably not going to see it. I don’t have plans to. Not because I think it would throw me into some existential crisis of like, ‘Oh, is that what happened?’ But more so I just feel like it would not be a relaxing evening in the theatre.
“I feel like I would be being watched for my reaction. And maybe that is complete conceited and egotistical and people wouldn’t care. But I do feel like if I was just surrounded by ‘Harry Potter’ fans, it would be a little odd.”
When asked if he’d consider wearing a disguise to watch the play, Daniel admitted they don’t always work in his favour.
He added: “The thing about a disguise is if it stops working, then you’re just a dude who wore a disguise.”
Daniel even noted a time when his disguise was rumbled, during a music festival he attended with his ‘Harry Potter’ co-star Rupert Grint, who played Harry’s best friend Ron Weasley.
Speaking on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’ on Wednesday (21.11.18), he said: “For whatever reason because we were young, cool and edgy, we had access to old World War II gas masks, so we put them on. And then it got really hot really quickly so we just took them off. Everybody went from ‘who are those two idiots in gas masks,’ to, ‘Oh, look who that is.’ It was not a good feeling. That’s sworn me off disguises.”

Ricky Martin selling T-shirts designed by his kids to raise money for Puerto Rico

OHMYGOSSIP — Ricky Martin is selling T-shirts designed by his kids to help hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.
The 46-year-old singer has created shirts emblazoned with a picture of the country’s flag drawn in crayon by his sons – 10-year-old twins Matteo and Valentino – in order to raise money for those displaced by a hurricane in September 2017, which killed an estimated 2,975 people and caused more than $100 billion in damage to property and the power grid.
The ‘Livin’ la Vida Loca’ hitmaker thinks the campaign has been “so beautiful”, and revealed that it started when his children took in interest in the cause.
He told PEOPLE: “This campaign has been so beautiful, it started with my kids – they wanted to do something to help.
“So they hand-colored the flags, which became the t-shirt design worn by artists and fans from all over the world.
“Everyone joined together to help our island heal, It’s been an incredible collaboration.”
The shirts have been worn by celebrities including Will Smith, Carrie Underwood, Sean Penn and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The musician’s efforts don’t stop there, as the ‘Shake Your Bon Bon’ hitmaker also revealed that he wants to give over 100 Puerto Rican families new homes by Christmas, and has already donated $20,000 to his foundation to help him reach his target.
He previously said: “For an entire year many, many Puerto Rico residents had no power, no electricity.
“Many families lost absolutely everything and my goal is, before Christmas, I want to hand out 100 to 110 keys to houses that we’ve built and rebuilt.”
The shirts are available to buy until November 30 at www.charitystars.com/ricky

Eve Hewson: Non-feminists are a**holes

OHMYGOSSIP — Eve Hewson says “nonfeminists” are “a**holes”.
The 27-year-old actress – who is the daughter of U2 musician Bono and his wife Ali Hewson – has slammed people who don’t follow the feminist movement, as she says those who “don’t like that word” are people who “don’t believe in equality for women”.
She said: “Some people just don’t like that word for whatever reason. I’m not afraid of it at all … equality. That’s how I see it anyway. That’s why I think if you are a nonfeminist, you are an a**hole because you don’t believe in equality for women.”
The ‘Robin Hood’ actress also commented on the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements – which aim to bring an end to sexual harassment – and says that whilst she hasn’t been the victim of “anything really bad”, there are certain things she “brushed off” which she now believes she should speak up about.
She added: “I haven’t had anything really bad, but when all that stuff came out, it did make me look at situations at the time I had sort of brushed off. I’m over it and now I feel like I not only have the power to speak up but I need to speak up. I’ve been on set where crew members say things to you, whisper in your ear, follow you around.”
Eve alleges she was once even subject to sexual misconduct at the hands of a policeman, who kept “looking up her skirt” whilst he was overseeing a film shoot she was on.
Speaking to Story + Rain magazine, she said: “I had to do a sex scene once outside in a car and like the policeman was there to help us film. He had to be there. He kept like walking into the shot and looking up my skirt. And after a while I got out of the car and went up to him and said, I know what you’re doing, I see what you’re doing!”

Dakota Johnson: Real beauty comes from how you behave

OHMYGOSSIP — Dakota Johnson says real “beauty” comes from how people “behave”.
The 29-year-old actress is wary of online platforms such as Instagram which promote unrealistic beauty standards, and thinks that “no matter what you look like” real beauty comes from “how you behave” and how you treat others.
In an interview with Elle magazine, she said: “To me, beauty is really the way you behave. Beauty is how you treat people. Beauty is your heart and how you give it to others, and how you give and receive love and respect.
“So that’s the thing that anyone, no matter how famous you are or what you look like, put that on Instagram all you want. That’s what’s important.”
The ‘Suspiria’ actress also found it helpful to be free from social media while filming her latest horror flick – and confessed that she found it “helpful” to be isolated from civilisation.
Dakota enjoyed being “up a mountain” in Firenze, Italy whilst working on the supernatural horror movie and whilst she felt it was good for her character, she didn’t like being so far away from her family.
She previously said: “It’s so helpful. It’s so helpful. It’s funny because when we were filming Trump was elected to office and I felt like I was on another planet.
“I felt like I was looking down on the world, being like ‘Oh, God, what’s happening to my home?’ It was both helpful and terrifying. I was really far away from my family.
“I felt like inferior that I couldn’t protect them from this, but it was a really interesting thing. But it was helpful.
“It was really … I like being sort of sequestered into a place to make something and then leave and you emerge with this product of like creative force. To be there with a bunch of dancers and a bunch of incredible actresses from all over the world was unbelievable.”

Justin Bieber creates tee to ‘help animals’ in California wildfires

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber has collaborated with XKarla to create t-shirts that will “donate proceeds” to “help animals hurt and displaced” in the California wildfires.
The 24-year-old ‘No Brainer’ hitmaker has teamed up with the fashion brand to create a trio of limited edition white tees – retailing at $40 each – that feature the star’s face in a standard and cropped fit, to “help animals” that have been affected by the devastating California wildfires by donating a portion of money with each garment sold.
Speaking to his 105 million followers on Twitter, Justin said: “xkarla will donate a portion of proceeds to the Humane Society to help animals hurt and displaced in the fires http://xkarla.com” (sic)
Writing on Instagram, the brand also wrote: “Justin in a white tee. Justin on a white tee. Justin is a META tee. Limited edition and available for one week only! xkarla will donate a portion of proceeds of the exclusive “META” tee to the @humanesociety to help animals hurt and displaced in the California fires. @justinbieber #justinbieber” (sic)
Justin is one of the many stars helping to provide relief in the wake of the destructive blazes, with other celebrities including Gerard Butler, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus – who lost their home to the ferocious blaze – Kim Kardashian West and her husband Kanye, and Sandra Bullock.
‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star Kim revealed she and Kanye had donated $500,000 towards relief for the wildfires during an appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Wednesday (21.11.18) where she said: “I feel like we were really blessed to have the help of the firefighters that we did.
“Our house is right on the end of a big park, so the whole park had caught fire and so if our house went, then every other house would go.
“We were fortunate enough and blessed enough, and I know that not everyone has this luxury available to them, but we were able to get private firefighters.”
Gerard Butler also hosted a star-studded fundraiser last week – which was attended by the likes of Jamie Foxx, Sean Penn, Cindy Crawford, Minnie Driver, The Edge and Robin Thicke – for The Malibu Foundation on Friday night (16.11.18).
The fundraiser was staged shortly after it was revealed that Gerard has taken in victims of the wildfires in California.

David Attenborough has ‘never cried’ during filming

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir David Attenborough has “never cried while filming” one of his nature documentaries.
The 92-year-old broadcaster can’t help but be moved by the plight of some of the animals that he has filmed over the years but he has never shed a tear because he accepts what happens is integral to the balance of the natural world.
In an interview with The Times newspaper, he said: “I’ve never cried while filming, but I suppose I cry more easily nowadays. Well, tears don’t pour down my cheeks, but I blinked hard on November 11.”
Attenborough has also addressed the controversy surrounding new BBC One series ‘Dynasties’, which he voices, which has drawn criticism due to the camera crew’s decision to help a group of emperor penguins and their chicks.
The animals had become trapped in an icy ravine and the onlooking crew dug out some steps so they could escape and survive.
Attenborough believes that in this instance the crew were justified in their decision because it wasn’t a predator and prey situation.
He rationalised: “I never ever said they shouldn’t have done that.
What I said was that you have to be very careful in these situations.
If you see a leopard stalking a fawn, and you’re able to save the fawn by helping it get away, you’d probably only drive it off to a different area so that its mother wouldn’t know where it was. So these things have to be handled very carefully. But if it’s an inorganic thing, as it was in this case, then why not?”
The next episode of ‘Dynasties’, which follows the fortunes of a pride of lions, will be shown on BBC One at 8pm on Sunday (25.11.18).

Scarlett Lee is launching a clothing line for ‘real women’

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Lee is launching a clothing line for “real women”.
The ‘X Factor’ semi-finalist used to feel “embarrassed” about her weight in the past and that feeling has inspired her to create her own clothing line for “bigger girls”.
Speaking to The Sun Online at the launch of the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland attraction in London, she said: “Launching a clothing line is something I’ve wanted to do for a number of years. Bigger girls out there don’t have a lot of choice and they often feel ashamed when they walk into a shop or online. I have struggled to find clothes to fit me in the past. I want to release the perfect clothing range for women who are real. I don’t want anyone to feel embarrassed, because I often have when I’ve been trying something on in front of my friends.”
The 21-year-old singer has had a huge confidence boost from working with the styling team on ‘The X Factor’ as they have made her feel “so comfortable” with her outfits for the live shows.
She said: “I have felt so comfortable with the stylists during my ‘X Factor’ experience. If nothing fits me, they are fine about it. They never make me feel degraded or overweight. That’s how I want to make other people feel by releasing a clothing range.”
Scarlett is in rehearsals for her performance on Saturday night (24.11.18) but she’s already started to think ahead to the final and she has been contemplating names that she could duet with.
She said: “My family are so, so proud of me. Every time my mum calls me, she cries. This experience is mad and to think I could duet with someone famous is amazing. We get to pick!
“I’d love Justin Bieber, but I’d be happy with Kermit the Frog! I’m just grateful to be here.”

James Argent and Gemma Collins are living together

OHMYGOSSIP — James Argent and Gemma Collins are living together.
The ‘TOWIE’ original – who first appeared on the show when it launched in 2010 – and his co-star have had an on/off relationship over the years, but he has revealed they are “very happy” together as he joked “the locks haven’t been changed in ages”.
After letting slip about their living arrangements on ‘Loose Women’, Arg added: “It’s been a year since we’ve got quite serious, and we’re very happy and I love her.
“I’m very proud of her and I can’t wait for her to do ‘Dancing On Ice’ in January. I think she’s gonna shock the world!”
The panel on the ITV daytime show picked up on a hint as the 30-year-old reality star opened up about his 37-year-old girlfriend’s preparations for the ice skating show.
He said: “I know when she’s worked really hard if she comes in and she’s all lairy and giving it to me a little bit, then I know she hasn’t worked that hard.
“But the last few weeks, she comes home and she’s really chilled and quiet – and that’s when I know.”
Although wedding bells aren’t on the horizon for the couple just yet, Arg revealed he could return to ‘TOWIE’ in 2019 after taking some time off to deal with personal issues.
He also opened up about his recent injury which saw him fracture his shoulder in a moped accident, and stalled his weight loss efforts.
He admitted: “I’d been at Boot Camp, I’d got a nice bit of weight off and I thought I’m going really continue it. It’s knocked me back for six, so all that weight I lost I’ve put back on. That’s my excuse, anyway.”
