Gabrielle Union faced backlash following baby announcement

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabrielle Union faced a backlash from the public following the arrival of her daughter.
The 46-year-old actress – who is married to basketball star Dwyane Wade – announced the arrival of their daughter Kaavia via a surrogate on November 7, and Gabrielle has admitted she faced a hostile reaction to the news from some people.
Gabrielle – who made the announcement with a photo of her and Dwyane sat together in a hospital bed – told Oprah Winfrey: “Everyone started talking about why she acting like she just had a baby.”
Despite her baby joy, Gabrielle admits during ‘Oprah at Home with Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade & Their New Baby’ that she’s still struggling to come to terms with being unable to carry the child herself.
The actress said: “I’m already getting choked up. It’s still hard to let go.”
Meanwhile, Gabrielle recently revealed her daughter already has “102 nicknames”.
The American star and Dwayne wasted no time in creating plenty of alternative names for Kaavia.
Gabrielle shared on her Instagram account: “She has 102 nicknames including but not limited to Kaav, Kaavi, Kaavi Baby, Kaavi J, Jamie, KJ, Nugget, Nug, Pooters. (sic)”
The actress – whose daughter was born via a surrogate due to her struggles with miscarriages – also explained the origin of Kaavia’s full name, which is Kaavia James Union Wade.
She said: “We wanted to include my family in her name so the “James” is from my uncle James Francis Glass who is also my godfather. Union is her middle name. I’ve waited this long so fo sho I was gonna get in there (sic)”
Gabrielle also gave her followers some tips on how to pronounce her daughter’s name.
She explained: “@kaaviajames pronounced Kah-Vee-Uh James. (sic)”

Ellie Bamber’s ‘special’ movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Bamber had a “really, really special” time working on ‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’.
The 21-year-old actress was delighted to film alongside a star-studded cast including Keira Knightley, Dame Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman and Mackenzie Foy in director Lasse Hallstrom’s Disney fantasy and will never forget the experience.
She said: “It’s a live-action film and it’s a lot more story based than the ballet but there’s still going to be dancing.
“Getting to work with Lasse Hallstrom was so incredible and that cast, I mean… Mackenzie is amazing, Matthew Macfadyen is so brilliant – it was a really cool cast and being able to bring that magical tale to life… well, it was really, really special.”
Next year, Ellie can be seen in ‘The Seven Sorrows of Mary’, which is based on real events and sees her play an exchange student who is kidnapped, raped and beaten while in Brazil and though it was the “toughest” role she’s ever had, the actress embraced doing night shoots in Rio de Janeiro.
She said: “It was very intense. I think it might have been my toughest role to date.
“We did lots of night shoots so I’d come home to see the sunrise. There was something really special about a beautiful end to the day.”
But it isn’t the British actress’ first difficult role as her big break came in Tom Ford’s dark thriller ‘Nocturnal Animals’, on which she formed a strong bond with her on-screen parents Jake Gyllenhaal and Isla Fisher, which helped her through filming.
She recalled to Britain’s Elle magazine: “On set, the three of us formed a really strong relationship together.
“We all got on really well and we’d hang out a lot outside of filming. I think that was really important because we had this bond with each other where we felt safe together, no matter what space we were put in.”

Maroon 5’s label didn’t want Moves Like Jagger

OHMYGOSSIP — Maroon 5’s record label didn’t want them to release ‘Moves Like Jagger’.
The group’s 2016 single has gone on to become one of the best-selling tracks of all time but they defied recording executives to perform it on ‘The Voice’ and it quickly took on a life of its own.
Songwriter Benny Blanco recalled: “IT instantly went to number one on iTunes.
“Before, the label were all ‘anti’ and then they were like, ‘F**k the song we have at radio, let’s go with this song.’ It just became this big thing.”
Benny – who has written for the likes of Kesha, Britney Spears, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber – still favours dealing directly with artists rather than record label executives.
He said: “I don’t want to convince some old rich white guy in a suit. I wanna convince kids that the song is good.”
And the songwriter thinks the way streaming has changed music has made things more “exciting” for fans.
He told Q magazine: “You can’t shove music down people’s throats like you did.
“When we were younger, they told us what the single was and whether we liked it or not and we listened to it a million times and we were like ‘Yeah!’ Now, that doesn’t work. Those big artists aren’t working.
“It’s such an exciting time and it shows the taste o people – people are listening to and finding really cool s**t.
“I go every day and find stuff and I love that the machine doesn’t work any more. It’s broken.”
When he’s writing pop songs, the former rapper takes great pleasure in making things so “uncool” that they become “cool”.
He said: “If I was making one of those cheesy songs, back then, I wanted it to be one you couldn’t help but like.
“I don’t care who you are – you can’t help but sing ‘Tik Tok’ when it comes on.
“They’re almost so uncool they’re the coolest songs in the world.”

Olly Alexander’s speaking out fear

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Alexander suffered “anxiety” over Twitter.
The Years and Years frontman is known for speaking out on issues that are important to him but he’s learned to refer to his own experiences and being able to “back up” what he’s saying in order to avoid online commentators calling him out.
Asked about the pressure of being under scrutiny by social media users, he admitted: “I had a lot of anxiety over that for a while.
“But I always knew that was the case. And I knew that if I said something, I needed to be able to back it up.
“That’s why I always speak on my own experiences – because I know what they felt like.
“At the same time, I’m always trying to acknowledge other experiences and other systems of oppression, and juggle all those things. It can be a bit, like, ‘oh God’.
“But at the same time, I wanted to do it so much that it felt like the benefits outweighed the negatives.”
However, the 28-year-old singer doesn’t consider him an “activist” because he only gets involved in causes that have meaning to him, though he also worries he isn’t doing enough and is coming at things from a very privileged position.
He told NME.com: “I genuinely do want the world to change in a positive way, but I wouldn’t call myself an activist, you know? I’m an entertainer who engages with activism because it feels really meaningful for me.
“But sometimes I look at what you could call my ‘personal activism’ and think, ‘Is it just giving speeches at awards shows?’ And then I think, ‘That’s not enough, that’s f**ked up’.
“And it opens up this weird conflict in my brain because I want to help, but at the same time I worry that I’m also perpetuating something, because I’m this white cisgender gay guy that’s ticking all these privilege boxes.
“I’m trying to dismantle a system that I’m benefiting from, which is inherently problematic and a bit difficult. But I wouldn’t change my advocacy. I don’t always get it right, but I’ve met so many amazing people who’ve taught me so much about advocating for various kinds of rights.”

Candice Swanepoel: Motherhood prepares me for Victoria’s Secret Show

OHMYGOSSIP — Candice Swanepoel thinks motherhood is the perfect preparation for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The 30-year-old model – who has kids Anaca, two, and five-month-old Ariel with her husband Hermann Nicoli – has revealed the secrets to her pre-show preparations, saying she combines a strict fitness regime with the everyday stresses of parenting.
Candice quipped: “Taking care of two kids will get you in shape real quick.”
On top of looking after her children, the South African star also did about three to four workouts per week – which included training with ankle weights and doing squats – in preparation for this year’s show.
Candice is now a veteran of the runway and even though deep breathing techniques have helped to calm some of her nerves, she still feels anxious before a big show.
She told E! News: “I’m a ball of nerves before the show. I feel like each year I get more and more nervous – I don’t know why.
“But nerves are healthy. You need a little adrenaline to really kill it.”
Meanwhile, Candice previously admitted that raising two young children is “pretty intense” – but it’s also an experience she’s relishing.
She said: “It’s pretty intense, but it’s amazing. To see the love between them is amazing. It’s a lot, I’m not gonna lie. The second one is a lot easier, but the situation of having two makes it harder.”
Despite the challenges, Candice insisted she dreams of one day having a “bunch of kids”.
She said: “I don’t plan too much into the future.
“I believe a lot in destiny and that what happens – you can try to manifest certain things, but I definitely do want to continue having a great career and building my family as well because I’m really loving that. I definitely want to have a bunch of kids.”

Lucy Mecklenburgh and Ryan Thomas have gym rows

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Mecklenburgh and Ryan Thomas argue if they go to the gym together.
The 27-year-old beauty is very happy in her relationship with the 34-year-old actor but admitted they’ve learned that working out together isn’t a good idea.
She told Closer magazine: “Ryan is amazing – but we can’t train together.
“We try to go to the gym, but we just end up falling out – we always argue at the gym.
“He doesn’t like it when I tell him what to do.
“But he is amazing. He gives me lots of compliments and makes me feel beautiful – and I’m very complimentary to him too.”
The fitness guru is keen to have a child with Ryan – who already has daughter Scarlet, 10, with ex-girlfriend Tina O’Brien – one day but she’s worried about the impact pregnancy would have on her body.
She said: “I definitely want to be a mum one day, I’ve always wanted a family. It’s definitely in my future but right now? I’m not sure.
“I’m 27 and busy with my businesses. It’s in the future – but I don’t think any time soon.
“There’s definitely a worry about my body changing due to pregnancy too. Your body is never the same afterwards.
“And there’s a hell of a lot of pressure on mums to snap back into shape.
“But your body does an incredible thing, so who cares if you’ve got a few stretch marks. You’ll have an amazing baby.
“Ferne McCann and Binky Felstead look incredible after having their babies. They’re definitely yummy mummies.”

Mel B’s daughter claims she witnessed abuse

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B’s daughter Phoenix has claimed she saw Stephen Belafonte “push” her mother “over the couch” during an argument.
The 43-year-old singer has accused her ex-husband of being abusive during their marriage, which he has denied, but now her 19-year-old daughter Phoenix – whom she has with Jimmy Gulzar – has claimed she saw one of the alleged incidents take place, but says she “went back” to her room because the behaviour was just “family life” for her.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday’s You magazine, she said: “I was maybe 14 or 15. I was in my bedroom. I could hear them fighting. My mum came downstairs to the kitchen followed by Stephen.
“I looked through the crack halfway up the stairs – where I could just see the kitchen – to check if everything was OK, which it was, then returned to my room.
“I heard more screaming and her shouting, ‘Stop, get off’, and heard little thumps. I went to the stairs again and saw … my mum pushed over the couch. I froze, but then I just went back [to my room]. This was my family life.”
Phoenix’s comments come after Stephen, also 43, recently accused Mel – with whom he has seven-year-old daughter Madison, and who also has 11-year-old daughter Angel with Eddie Murphy – of lying about the allegations in order to preserve her own image and keep her “addiction” hidden, and blasted her for laying her problems bare in her new autobiography, ‘Brutally Honest’, which could be read by her three daughters.
He said: “I do not know who I was married to, at all. It is a person who had the capability of probably slitting my throat if it protected her as an addict.
“What she has said to protect her own image, to play the victim was nasty and horrific. I’m dumbfounded.
“She blames me for her cocaine use, she blames me for the sexual stuff, it’s just disgusting.
“I don’t know why a person who cares about their daughters, who is girl power, would ever in a million years want this to be out there for your younger daughters to read.”

Simon Cowell’s son to have ‘big’ role in X Factor final

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell’s son Eric will “step into [his] shoes big-time” in Sunday (02.12.18) night’s ‘X Factor’ final.
The 59-year-old judge and show creator is set to involve his four-year-old son Eric in the live final of the ITV singing competition, and although he’s keeping details under wraps until the show airs, he’s teased that some people think he’s “out of his mind” for what he has in store.
Simon said: “Eric is going to more involved than ever, he is about to step into my shoes big time. You’ll see what we do. A few people have gone, ‘You are actually out of your mind’. Probably – but it’s fun. And that’s what I like doing.”
And although he’s known for being Mr. Nasty on the programme, Simon admits his son – whom he has with partner Lauren Silverman – has made him soften up.
He added: “Eric finds me funny and I find him funny. I’ve laughed more this year than I have done in years. It’s chilled me out. We watch movies and then we have these crazy conversations.
“He reminds me of what I used to be like when I was his age.”
Simon also teased that the current line-up of judges – including Robbie Williams, his wife Ayda Field, and One Direction star Louis Tomlinson – could be set to continue on to next year’s show, as they’ve all “had a great time” on the panel this year.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror newspaper, Simon said: “I’ve spoken to Robbie who with Ayda definitely wants to come back, I hope Louis does too. They have all had a great time.
“I’ve known Robbie a long time and it’s no secret we’ve been trying to get him to do the show for years. He says it’s the best job he has ever had because it is fun.”

Faye Tozer gets Strictly Come Dancing support from Debbie McGee

OHMYGOSSIP — Faye Tozer gets “lovely messages” from former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant Debbie McGee.
The 60-year-old television personality danced with Giovanni Pernice in last year’s series of the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition, and has been sending messages of support to the Italian hunk and his celebrity partner for this year, Steps singer Faye.
Faye said: “We get lovely messages from Debbie McGee. She said when times get tough I need to put Gio in his place, and to give her a call if I need back-up. We’re in cahoots.”
Despite topping the leaderboard on Saturday (01.12.18) with a perfect 40, Faye admitted she’d like to be a little bit more like fellow contestant Stacey Dooley – who is dancing with Kevin Clifton – because she’s so “confident”.
The 43-year-old singer told the Sunday People newspaper: “I’d like to have the confidence she has. People absolutely love her.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Tragedy’ hitmaker recently revealed it is “tricky” being away from her husband during her long training sessions for the show, but says they have a solid family unit which is helping her get through it.
She said: “It’s always tricky being away from home. You just have to keep your head above water.
“We’ve just got to keep really tight as a family unit and make sure we communicate – I think that’s the only way. But it is tough being away from home because we miss each other.”
Faye was recently spotted enjoying a cosy meal with her hunky 28-year-old dance partner Giovanni but she insisted the pair are just good friends.
She said: “I can feed myself thank you very much. But I had a bit of salad on my face so he took it off and that was it.”
And Faye’s Steps bandmate Claire Richards insisted the star won’t fall to the ‘Strictly’ curse.
The former ‘Popstar to Operastar’ contestant said: “She’s not that stupid. If she’s having an affair with her partner she’s not going to be sitting in the window of a restaurant.
“It was her birthday that day and they don’t normally go out for lunch. She’s made of tough stuff, her and her husband are solid… I think. He’s been taking the mickey out of it.”

John Krasinski teases plot for A Quiet Place 2

OHMYGOSSIP — John Krasinski says ‘A Quiet Place 2’ will be set in a different part of the world.
The 39-year-old actor co-wrote, directed, and starred in the 2018 thriller movie, and has said that whilst most sequels focus on the idea of a returning hero or villain, the second instalment of ‘A Quiet Place’ will instead focus on the return of the “world”.
The first movie was set in a post-alien invasion society where every survivor has learned to live without making a sound, and so John believes the sequel would simply have to move to a different location across the globe, to tell the story of the same alien invasion in a different culture.
Speaking during an appearance on ‘The Big Picture Podcast’, John said: “Why I had this little idea that’s now gotten bigger is most sequels are about a villain returning or a hero returning, and you have to build this entire world around just the idea that I have a hero or a villain. That’s a lot, and I think that’s where a lot of sequels go wrong because as much as you love that hero or villain, the entire thing is fabricated just to make that person work.
“With ‘A Quiet Place 2’, we have the world. So it’s actually the world that’s built, it’s the idea that the rest of the world is going through this exact same experience. Are there other people that have to survive like this? It’s that idea of living through the set of circumstances, not again in the same way obviously, but exploring it more. You only got to do it intimately for a small amount of time, so what happens next?”
John starred in the movie as Lee Abbott alongside his real-life wife Emily Blunt as his on-screen spouse Evelyn Abbott, and their children played by Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds.
As of the time of writing, it is unknown whether the same characters will appear in the sequel, which is scheduled for release in May 2020.

Corey Taylor slams Adam Levine over rock music comments

OHMYGOSSIP — Corey Taylor has slammed Adam Levine for claiming that “rock music is nowhere”.
The Maroon 5 frontman claimed in an interview published earlier this week that the ‘Moves Like Jagger’ hitmakers take their inspiration from hip-hop and R&B, because he doesn’t believe rock music is doing anything “innovative”.
And now, Slipknot and Stone Sour rocker Corey has branded the 39-year-old singer as a “schmuck”, saying he doesn’t coming “close” to rock music.
Quoting a user on Twitter who claimed Maroon 5 have never been a rock band, 44-year-old Corey wrote: “Just because you claim to have ‘Moves Like Jagger’ doesn’t mean you come anywhere CLOSE to ROCKING like Jagger. Tell that schmuck to go back to The f***ing ‘Voice’ (sic)”
In Adam’s interview, he claimed he didn’t know “where” rock music had gone, and branded hip-hop as “better than everything else”.
He said: “Something unique to this band is that we have always looked to hip-hop, R&B, all rhythmic forms of music, from back when we were writing our first album to now. Rock music is nowhere, really. I don’t know where it is. If it’s around, no one’s invited me to the party.
“All of the innovation and the incredible things happening in music are in hip-hop. It’s better than everything else. Hip-hop is weird and avant-garde and flawed and real, and that’s why people love it.
“My goal is to make songs that don’t sound dated 10 years later. My main criteria for a song is, can I live with it forever? And if I can’t, I just don’t have the heart to do it. It’s that simple.”

Nile Rodgers had sex with triplets

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers had sex with triplets while high.
The 66-year-old music legend has revealed he once bedded three “gorgeous” women whilst under the influence of drugs, but doesn’t know any of their names or how the romp came to be.
When asked what the most rock’n’roll thing he’d ever done was, the Chic musician said: “Sex with triplets. I don’t even know how it happened. They were drop-dead gorgeous too.
“I woke up the next day and thought, ‘Wow, how did I pull that off?’ Blimey, that is rock ‘n’ roll … I was just high. I mean, what are the odds?”
And the ‘Le Freak’ hitmaker wishes he’d taken a snapshot of the evening, because people don’t believe him when he tells the story.
He added: “I don’t know their names, how they got there – God, it would be a cool photo, I wish I’d taken one.
“If only I had a camera phone then I could have been like, ‘Stay there a minute!’ So people would know it wasn’t fake.”
Nile does have one more witness that can verify the tale though, as he says his girlfriend at the time walked in on the group the following morning.
Speaking to Notebook magazine, he said: “Oh, it happened, because my girlfriend found me the next morning and made sure I knew it happened.”
Nile’s triplet romp story comes after he revealed earlier this year that he “died eight times in one night” while partying with Robert Downey Jr back in 1984.
He said: “I died eight times in one night and they brought me back. Eight times my heart stopped.
“I was hanging out with Robert Downey Jr … It was coke and alcohol. I was fine, but then I passed out. Typical rock’n’roll death … you choke on your own vomit.”

Matty Healy: Heroin isn’t cool

OHMYGOSSIP — Matty Healy says it’s “not cool” to be addicted to heroin.
The 29-year-old musician previously battled his own addiction to the illegal substance, and now that he’s sober he knows it isn’t “cool”, and he doesn’t “look up to” the kind of people who put the substance into their bodies because he believes they’re “boring” and a “f***ing nightmare”.
He said: “In 2018, it’s just not cool to be a heroin addict, is it? [Young people] don’t look up to junkies. I don’t look up to junkies. You can read their literature, but, God, imagine hanging out with them – what a f***ing nightmare. People on heroin are boring. These days, people like it when you’ve got your shit together, and you’ve got stuff to say.”
And The 1975 frontman can’t understand how rockstars from the 60s manage to keep up the partying lifestyle, as he is now “terrified of going out” because he suffers with “really bad migraines” and would rather just stay indoors.
He added: “You know, I’ll watch stuff like ‘Stones in Exile’ and documentaries about bands from the Sixties, where they’ve got the same job as me, but they’re also at parties and married to supermodels and living the rock star life, and I don’t know how they do it.
“When I think about social situations, I lose my mind. I’m terrified of going out, because I get really bad migraines. So I don’t want to go to, like, the cinema, and have to leave, and be a bore. So I just stay in.”
Matty has the tattooed image of a rockstar, but says he can’t see himself getting any more inkings because he can’t see the point if they’re not visible to the public.
The ‘Somebody Else’ hitmaker told the Sunday Times newspaper: “I don’t think I’m going to get any more tattoos. They hurt too much, and I’ve run out of places to put them where people can see them. And what’s the point of having a tattoo if no one sees it? I’m not gonna go up to people and describe what I’ve got, like, here [he points to his upper thigh], ‘Yeah, I know you can’t see it, but it’s really fascinating.’ No.”

Miranda Kerr: I’m happy with my mum body

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Kerr feels happy with her “mum bod”.
The 35-year-old model – who has sons Flynn, seven, and six-month-old Hart – has revealed she is content with her post-pregnancy figure.
She confessed: “I’ve got a mum bod and it’s fine!”
The Australian beauty – who married her second husband, the billionaire businessman Evan Spiegel, in 2017 – thinks it’s important that women don’t feel under pressure to lose their baby weight in sudden fashion.
Speaking to Marie Claire Australia, Miranda shared: “It’s really important as women that we’re gentle with ourselves and don’t feel like we have to snap back into shape after a baby.”
The Victoria’s Secret model is happy to bide her time to regain her pre-pregnancy figure.
In fact, Miranda admitted her body may not ever feel the same as it did before the arrival of her second child.
She said: “I don’t mind. It’s all part of it. I took nine months – well, 10 months – to grow a beautiful child and it might take 10 months to feel good in a swimsuit again. Or longer. Or never!”
Meanwhile, Orlando Bloom – Miranda’s first husband – is reportedly ready to “settle down” with Katy Perry.
The British actor – who is the father of Miranda’s son Flynn – is feeling “like a new person” and thinks he’s “matured” a lot since the first time they started dating in 2016.
A source recently explained: “He is ready to settle down with Katy.
“Being with Katy makes Orlando very happy.
“In the past, he seemed so scattered and unwilling to settle down. He is like a new person now and everyone is excited for him.”

Michael B. Jordan credits his parents for his charitable nature

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael B. Jordan thinks his parents are responsible for his charitable nature.
The 31-year-old actor – who has reprised the role of Adonis Creed in ‘Creed II’ – has revealed he learned to donate his time and money to others from a young age thanks to his parents Donna and Michael.
The movie star – who supports organisations like Feeding America, which is a network of more than 200 food banks that feed more than 40 million people – shared: “It just makes sense. My dad manages a food bank and I grew up around that, watching service, going to food pantries and homeless shelters, and just helping out around my community as much as I could.”
Michael explained that giving his time and money to help other people is just “second nature” to him.
He told INSIDER: “From my earliest memories I think, it was just second nature. It’s not forced.”
Earlier this month, Michael described himself as a “giver”.
However, the Hollywood star also thinks he’s struck a “nice little balance” between finding time for himself and also taking care of others.
He shared: “For me, I’m always a giver. I’m a pleaser, you know, a fixer. I do a lot of things for other people. That’s something that just comes with me. It’s okay, it’s who I am.
“Obviously everyone has their own limits, but I think I’ve found a nice little balance between not spreading myself too thin and, at the same time, helping people.”
What’s more, the actor revealed he’s looking forward to becoming a father one day.
He said: “I love kids, man. I can’t wait to be in the right position to start a family of my own. I’m looking forward to the day that I start my own little tribe.”

Mark Ronson is a collaborative artist

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Ronson is a “purely collaborative” artist.
The 43-year-old musician and producer is known for working on hits such as ‘Uptown Funk’ with Bruno Mars, and has said his process for creating tracks is always a collaborative effort, as he likes to “bounce” ideas off of them, rather than sitting down to write by himself.
He said: “My thing is basically purely collaborative because I rarely sit down and write by myself at the piano. Usually I’m producing an artist and sometimes you’re there to give a lot of the song, sometimes you’re there just to help with a few lyrics, be a bouncing board, give a few chords, help finish the next line. I only know that side of it.”
Mark – who has also produced entire albums, including Lady Gaga’s 2016 album ‘Joanne’ and the late Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back to Black’ – insists the “best songs” come from “trying times”, and says he thinks it’s “lucky” that life always has something in store, because it means there’s always something to write about.
He added: “For better or for worse, the best songs come when you’re going through a trying time. That’s what I find. And luckily, life will always find a way to deal you a s**t hand now and then. That’s the good thing – the well won’t run dry.”
The ‘Stop Me’ hitmaker then lamented living through other artists’ “horrible, tragic life experiences” as he works with them, especially in the case of Amy Winehouse, who died of alcohol poisoning in 2011.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter for the Songwriter’s Roundtable, he said: “And in that place, whether it’s an Amy Winehouse or whoever it is, I get to sort of tap into their well of giant emotion for a little while. And sometimes it’s not even fair because I’m going along for the ride on their horrible, tragic life experiences.
“Every new project just rejuvenates me. I’m always getting into someone else’s life experience and seeing how that matches up with my own.”
