Himesh Patel joins The Luminaries

OHMYGOSSIP — Himesh Patel has been cast in new BBC Two period drama ‘The Luminaries’.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor – known for his role as hapless market inspector Tamwar Masood – will appear alongside Ewen Leslie, Eve Hewson, and Eva Green in the six-part series, which has started filming in New Zealand.
The series is described as a 19th century story of adventure and mystery set on the Wild West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island in the boom years of the 1860s gold rush.
Eve will play Anna Wetherell, who has sailed from Britain to New Zealand to begin a new life, where she meets Emery Staines – portrayed by Ewen – and their meeting leads to a strange kind of magic that neither can explain.
Since departing ‘EastEnders’ in 2016 – after nine years on the soap – Himesh landed the role of Nitin in Channel 4 sitcom ‘Damned’ alongside Alan Davies and Jo Brand.
And while he was “sad” to leave Walford, he recently admitted it was the “right time” for him to make the move.
He said: “It was definitely the right time to leave.
“So it wasn’t like I was being pulled away from something that I was holding onto for dear life.
“But it was sad to leave people behind that I really loved, and had spent a lot of time with, and it was scary, because I’d been there since I was 16.
“So it was very scary to leave and venture forth, with no idea of what would come my way.”
The 28-year-old star also admitted he enjoyed improvising now and again while filming ‘Damned’.
He added: “I was more comfortable with the improvisation in this second series of ‘Damned’, I think.
“There’s no room for improvisation on ‘EastEnders’. You don’t have time – there’s 20 scenes to do in a day, so you’ve got to keep moving.”

Nigel Havers does panto to ‘get out of Christmas’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nigel Havers has been appearing in pantomimes for 14 years to “get out of Christmas”.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actor admits he isn’t “a fan” of the festive period because it “starts too early and ends too late”, so he prefers to tread the boards to distract himself from the festivities.
When asked if panto ruins his Christmas, the ‘Snow White’ star said: “No, it gets you out of it. It means you don’t have to participate in it. I haven’t been a fan of Christmas for 14 years, which is how long I’ve been doing panto for. I think Christmas goes on way too long.
“It starts too early and ends too late. I like Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day but the rest just drags on.
“We have to work in this on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day – we only get Christmas Day off – but having done it for so many years I’ve kind of got the handle on that.”
Nigel has been so wrapped up in his ‘Snow White’ rehearsals he “forgot” about filming his festive ‘Coronation Street’ scenes as conman Lewis Archer.
He said: “I’d actually forgotten all about that because I’m in the middle of this.
“I finished that on one day and started this on the next so there was no moment to recover. It’s all done and dusted and in the can.”
Lewis looks set to meet his maker in upcoming scenes, and Nigel has added fuel to such rumours by joking he cannot say what is going to happen to his character otherwise he will be “killed”.
Speaking to Metro newspaper, he added: “I’m not allowed to give anything away otherwise I would be killed.
“No, no, that’s not a clue but they would shoot me. That’s not a clue, either. I would be poisoned. Not a clue. They would rip the heart out of me.”
This comes after Nigel recently admitted his future on the soap is “looking grim”.
Speaking about the speculated storyline, he said: “It’s not looking good – it’s looking grim.”

Miley Cyrus says Liam Hemsworth got ‘a lot of action’ after wildfire heroics

OHMYGOSSIP — Miley Cyrus admits Liam Hemsworth got “a lot of action” following his heroics during the California wildfires.
The 26-year-old pop star and Liam, 28, had their plush home in Malibu destroyed during the recent blaze, and Miley has revealed she made sure to show her appreciation to the actor for helping to rescue some of her most prized possessions as they escaped from danger.
Miley – who owns an array of animals, including her beloved pet pigs – shared: “He got a lot of action for saving the animals. He got a lot of action. We had to make sure that he knew I was very thankful.”
The ‘Malibu’ hitmaker and Liam are often forced to spend prolonged periods of time apart due to their jam-packed work schedules.
But Miley has revealed they use FaceTime in order to keep their romance alive.
Speaking on ‘The Howard Stern Show’, she confessed: “That’s what FaceTime’s for – cybersex.”
Meanwhile, Miley recently admitted she wants to have a “real relationship” with Ariana Grande.
The world-famous pop duo teamed up on a cover of the Crowded House hit ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ in 2017 and they have also recorded another song together, which Miley would love to dance along to alongside Ariana.
During an interview earlier this week, Miley said: “She’s here in New York actually and we’ve been texting. I just want to go to the club with her. I want to play our new song and go to the club.
“I’ve been trying to start a real relationship and not ask her to work or collaborate too much. I feel like she could use a friend and I could use a friend, I’d love to start that relationship with her.”

Letitia Wright was OK with romantic scenes with John Boyega

OHMYGOSSIP — Letitia Wright didn’t feel any awkwardness when she had to participate in romantic scenes with her friend John Boyega for their play ‘The Convert’.
The 25-year-old actress insists she didn’t feel embarrassed at all when getting close to John because the pair get on really well and they both just wanted to make sure they did the story justice.
When asked by ES Magazine whether there was any awkwardness between the pair, she said: “No, because John is a good friend of mine. More than anything I’m just really happy to see this kind of story being told. It’s two people in love facing an obstacle. [They could have cast] anyone but it ended up being us.”
The new production – which was written by Letitia’s ‘Black Panther’ co-star Danai Gurira – follows the story of a young girl who escapes an arranged marriage in 19th century Rhodesia, modern day Zimbabwe, and discovers Christianity after finding herself working for a Catholic priest.
When she first read the script, the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ actress admits it made her consider her own Christian faith.
She said: “When I read it, it [seemed to be] asking what Christianity or Catholicism would look like if it hadn’t been forced upon a society and a culture. That question flows through-out the whole play and made me look at myself, too.”
Letitia explained that Danai among others have inspired her to “create her own stories” and insisted that the projects of her friends and co-stars will positively impact the amount of diversity in the film industry.
She said: “The people I’m around – Michael B. Jordan, John Boyega, Danai Gurira, Chadwick Boseman – are making movies, producing, writing, coming up with solutions. I think everybody putting these ideas into the world is helping. And it’s inspiring me to create my own stories, too.”

Lenny Kravitz says daughter’s reunion with Nicole Kidman is ‘beautiful’

OHMYGOSSIP — Lenny Kravitz thinks his daughter’s reunion with his ex-fiancee Nicole Kidman on the set of ‘Big Little Lies’ is “beautiful”.
Zoe Kravitz and Nicole, 51, both star in the award-winning HBO drama series, and Lenny admits it’s been “very interesting” to see his daughter and his former partner working together on the same show.
Appearing on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’, Lenny – who dated Nicole between the end of her first marriage to Tom Cruise and the start of her second marriage to Keith Urban – explained: “I thought it was very interesting that they ended up on the same show. Zoe hadn’t seen Nicole since she was younger, and so it was beautiful that they got to know each other as adults and make this great show together.”
The ‘Fly Away’ hitmaker added: “Some things just don’t work, but the wonderful thing is that we’re all friends.”
Zoe and Nicole briefly lived under the same roof in the early 2000s and despite the Oscar-winning actress’ eventual split from Lenny, there are no hard feelings between the pair.
In fact, Zoe is full of praise for the Hollywood star.
She previously said: “I hadn’t seen her in a long time before ‘Big Little Lies’, but there was a point where we were all kind of living together. I was about 13, and she would take me to see movies; she was so nice to me.”
Zoe has also praised Nicole’s kids Faith, seven, and Sunday, 10, both of whom make cameo appearances in the upcoming series of ‘Big Little Lies’.
She shared: “They’re around a lot and I sometimes can’t tell when they’re actually in a scene or just hanging out. But they’re so sweet and really really smart. You can tell they were raised by Nicole Kidman.”

Karissa and Kristina Shannon sign big deal with Brazzers

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ stars Karissa and Kristina Shannon have signed a seven-figure deal with porn business Brazzers.
The 29-year-old twin sisters – who appeared on the UK reality show in 2012, coming fifth – were approached by the adult entertainment company with an offer to exclusively make content for them and after seeing the money on offer they signed on the dotted line following a lengthy negotiating period.
According to website The Blast, Karissa and Kristina have a shooting schedule and will be participating in a host of different X-rated acts with male and female porn performers and will appear in the same projects.
The pair – who both dated late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner – have had assurances that all the scenes will all be “tastefully done” and will be shot in strict accordance with the rules and regulations which relate to siblings appearing together in front of the camera.
Speaking about their Brazzers deal, the twins released a statement to The Blast which read: “Hef’ would be proud that we are reinventing ourselves just like he had done throughout his legacy! There’s no doubt we are the closest twins on the planet!
“[We are excited] to finally share with everyone that we are complete monsters in the bedroom and exclusively with the best… Brazzers!”
Karissa and Kristina shot to fame when they became live-in girlfriends of late Hefner in 2008 and went on to appear in the E! reality show ‘The Girls Next Door’.
The blonde beauties then went on to become centrefolds in the men’s magazine before eventually moving out of the mansion in 2010 and going on to find fame in the UK on ‘CBB’.
Before signing the Brazzers deal, Karissa and Kristina have been making adult content for subscribers to their Only Fans account.
The girls are also currently in the process of insuring their bootylicious butts for $1 million.

Janet Jackson leads Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks and Radiohead are being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The class of 2019 has been revealed, with the three iconic acts being honoured alongside The Cure, Def Leppard, Roxy Music and The Zombies at the ceremony in Brooklyn, New York on March 29.
Pop superstar Janet said in a statement: “Thank you Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I am truly honored and I am happy to be in there with my brothers.”
In 1997 Janet’s siblings – Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, Michael and Tito – were inducted as the Jackson 5, while ‘Thriller’ hitmaker Michael was part of the class of 2001.
Meanwhile, Fleetwood Mac star Stevie – who was inducted with her band in 1998 – will make history as the first woman to enter the Hall of Fame on two occasions.
She said: “I have a lot to say about this but I will save those words for later. For now I will just say, I have been in a band since 1968. To be recognized for my solo work makes me take a deep breath and smile. It’s a glorious feeling.”
While Zombies frontman Colin Blunstone admitted there band often wondered if they’d ever get inducted, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott paid tribute to his idols as he gushed over the honour.
He told Rolling Stone: “Now we can stop holding our breath. How wonderful to be in the same club as the Rolling Stones and the Beatles and the Who and Queen … It’s a nice badge of honor.”
To be eligible for this year’s ballot each nominee must have released their first single or album in or before 1993.
The likes of LL Cool J, Kraftwerk, MC5 and Rage Against The Machine were on the initial shortlist, but didn’t get named in the final class.

Tom Odell doesn’t drink much before he performs anymore

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Odell doesn’t drink much on stage anymore because he used to get through “half a bottle” per show.
The 28-year-old singer has confessed that he now avoids booze when performing because the alcohol he drinks “creeps up” and although he might have “one about halfway through the show” he now tries to stay clear of liquor before going on stage.
When asked in an interview with GQ magazine whether he drank before going on stage, he said: “I try to avoid it, because it creeps up. I do have a habit of having one about halfway through the show.
“When I first started touring I used to get through about half a bottle [per show] so I try not to [drink that much] now. Not good.”
Despite his decision to stay sober on stage, the ‘Another Love’ hitmaker has admitted that his favourite tipple is a single-malt Scotch – although it “terrifies” him how much he can drink of it without being drunk.
He said: “I like whisky – single-malt Scotch – and I like it over two cubes of ice. I’ve terrified myself at how much I can drink of it and not keel over.”
Whisky may be the ‘Grow Old With Me’ singer’s favourite drink, but it isn’t the number one item on his rider, and the musician revealed that it’s a sofa he needs prior to a performance – as he needs one to carry out his “transcendental meditation.”
He said: “For me, the most important thing is to have a sofa. For years now I’ve done this transcendental meditation thing, and I need a sofa to do it.”

Hollyoaks: Leela Lomax and Louis Lovedays wedding will be as dramatic as ever

OHMYGOSSIP — Leela Lomax and Louis Loveday’s ‘Hollyoaks’ wedding will feature “a lot of snot, tears, blood and guts”.
The couple – who are played by Kirsty-Leigh Porter and Karl Collins – are set to tie the knot over the festive period, but Karl has hinted his alter-ego will take a beating on his chaotic big day.
He said: “Well, in true ‘Hollyoaks’ fashion, there’s a few punches thrown – not mine. Let’s just say that Louis won’t look good in the wedding photos! And he’s definitely going to be doing some grovelling.
“There’s going to be a lot of snot and tears – and blood and guts. And he might need his passport at some point.”
Louis will need to do plenty of grovelling if his big secret gets out – that he is actually already married to his ex Simone Loveday’s (Jacqueline Boatswain) sister Martine Deveraux (Kelle Bryan).
As well as the injuries he looks set to incur, Louis is emotionally “wounded” and “broken-hearted” about the terrible decision he made to marry Martine, according to Karl.
He added to What’s On TV magazine: “He wakes up and realises he’s got to fulfil this path that he’s on. He’s obligated and I think he’s broken-hearted.
“He’s going into it really wounded. But I’m sure there won’t be too many people crying over Louis’ broken heart.”
While Leela’s wedding looks set to end in disaster, the character may well depart the Hollyoaks village for a spell next year – because Kirsty is pregnant.
Announcing the news, she recently said: “We were really, really happy. You just feel everything at once.
“With acting, you don’t know when you’re okay to be like, ‘Let’s take a year out and do this.’
“You’re just prepared when it happens, and we’re so happy it’s happened for us now.”

Emily Blunt has kept an umbrella from the set of ‘Mary Poppins Returns’.
The 35-year-old actress revealed that she stole one of the umbrellas that her enchanting character uses as a flying device from the set of her new movie.
Emily told ‘This Morning’: “My umbrella was an actual animatronic umbrella that sort of winked and moved its head and talked.
“I didn’t get to keep that one!
“I did steal one of the other umbrellas but they wouldn’t let me take the animatronic one. I think that’s a museum piece now!”
The actress reasoned that the film did not solely involve computer-generated imagery because the producers wanted the production to have a warm, real-life feel to it.
She said: “The key was that we wanted as much as possible for things to be practically captured and less green screen.
“I think with green screen, you can become sort of anaesthetised to things – it can leave you feeling quite cold.”
Emily stars alongside Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Dick Van Dyke, and Colin Firth in the new film, which is directed by Rob Marshall.
‘The Girl on the Train’ actress relished the experience of working with Van Dyke – who starred in the original 1964 film – and revealed how he nearly moved her to tears.
She gushed: “Yes, he was so magical and we all just sat around him and wanted him to tell us about the first film.
“He was always dancing and entertaining the crew.
“He was just having a moment where he sat there and there was a pause in the conversation and he leant across and took my hand and goes, ‘It’s a jolly holiday with Mary’ – and I was just like, ‘You’re going to make me cry!'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie thinks wearing an uncomfortable corset and heavy make-up aided her performance in ‘Mary Queen of Scots’.
The 28-year-old actress plays Queen Elizabeth I alongside Saoirse Ronan as Mary in the new drama movie, and Margot has revealed how her unflattering appearance in the film allowed her to empathise with the iconic British royal.
She told CNN: “It was really helpful, actually.
“The costumes too were very restrictive – you’re wearing a corset and layer after layer … I mean, there were jewels on your head, wigs, prosthetics for the pox mark scarring, and then of course really powdered make-up on top, which in Elizabeth’s case had lead and arsenic in it … in our case not so.
“But yeah, it was a lot and it felt very restrictive.”
Margot claimed that her own sense of discomfort helped her to embody the character of the restrained monarch.
She said: “It was ironic and also helpful to feel trapped ultimately by the facade that she’d created for herself.”
The Oscar-nominated actress has emerged as one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood since her breakthrough performance in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ in 2013.
But Margot recently admitted she felt embarrassed shooting her most raunchy scene in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, in which she had to seduce her on-screen husband, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Reflecting on her experience of shooting the scene, Margot said: “It doesn’t come across when you’re watching the movie, but in reality we’re in a tiny bedroom with 30 crew crammed in. All men.
“For 17 hours I’m pretending to be touching myself. It’s just a very weird thing and you have to bury the embarrassment and the absurdity, really deep, and fully commit.”

Tom Odell vomited on his grandmother on his 18th birthday

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Odell projectile vomited on his grandmother on his 18th birthday.
The 28-year-old singer celebrated his milestone birthday by drinking “really, really strong shots” and a bottle of wine, gifted to him by his grandfather, but he was unable to handle the booze and promptly threw-up on his grandmother.
He confessed to GQ magazine: “For my 18th birthday, I went out to a Chinese restaurant with my family – this little Chinese restaurant that we always used to go to for birthdays when I was growing up – and the guy who owned the restaurant came out and because I was 18, he gave me two or three shots.
“It was really, really strong. In the car home I started feeling quite dizzy. Then, back at home, we had this wine that my grandfather had bought me when I was born.
“He had put on the label, ‘To be opened on Tom’s 18th birthday’. So this bottle of wine had been waiting, sat in the cupboard for 18 years.
“We drank it and I projectile vomited on my grandmother, all of this wine and all the food.”
Despite the wine incident, the ‘Grow Old With Me’ singer insisted he’s learned valuable life lessons from the male influences in his life.
He said: “I think holding doors open and, generally, politeness and good nature are things that probably both my grandfathers and my dad drilled into me pretty early.”
However, the musician’s granddad isn’t the only family member Tom is inspired by.
He is also “completely entranced” by his older sister, who recently gave birth to her first child.
He said: “Recently I’ve watched my sister, who has given birth to this lovely little boy, and I’ve just been completely entranced by her motherhood. It’s the most creative thing you can do, to have a baby.”

Kid Cudi felt ‘ashamed’ of his mental health problems

OHMYGOSSIP — Kid Cudi used to feel “ashamed” to speak about his mental health struggles.
The 34-year-old rap star – who checked himself into rehab in 2016 for depression and suicidal urges – has opened up about his personal experiences with mental health problems during an upcoming episode of Facebook Watch’s ‘Red Table Talk’.
Speaking to Jada Pinkett Smith, Adrienne Banfield-Jones and Willow Smith in a clip obtained by People, Cudi explained: “I was really good at keeping my troubles hidden … even from my friends.
“I really was good with that. And it’s scary because you hear people say, ‘I had no clue.'”
Willow, 18, agreed with Cudi, acknowledging that it can be tough to discuss such an emotive issue with loved ones.
She said: “They feel like, ‘I want to be your friend, I want to be there for you.’ Dang, I was going through all of this and I was so unaware.
“That makes them feel like, ‘I’m not really doing my job as a friend.'”
Meanwhile, Cudi previously revealed that expressing himself creatively has helped him to cope with his mental health issues.
Speaking earlier in 2018, the rapper – who has collaborated with the likes of Kanye West and Jay-Z – shared: “I’m just creating a lot, with more love in my heart for what I’m doing and for myself.
“Living a healthy life, keeping my family around and staying on a mission, which is making music that means something.
“I’m focusing on my art again and throwing myself back into it and wanting to write something with more of a positive outlook on things, because I’ve written the dark so well for so long.
“I wanted to bring the opposite of that, you know? I’m at a place where I was able to do that.”

Cybill Shepherd accuses Leslie Moonves of propositioning her

OHMYGOSSIP — Cybill Shepherd has accused former CBS CEO Leslie Moonves of propositioning her in a restaurant.
The 68-year-old actress has claimed that the alleged incident took place while they were dining at a restaurant, and comes after the former TV network boss was accused by several other woman of sexual harassment.
Speaking on Sirius XM’s ‘The Michelle Collins Show’, Cybill explained: “His assistant and my assistant made a dinner date and we went to it and he was … well, he was telling me his wife didn’t turn him on, some mistress didn’t turn him on. And I’m watching him drink alcohol and I’m going, he says, ‘Well, you know, why don’t you let me take you home?’
“I said, no, I’ve got a ride and I had my car outside with a good friend of mine who is an off-duty LAPD officer.”
The actress also claimed that her CBS sitcom ‘Cybill’ would have run on the air for much longer if she hadn’t rejected Moonves’ advances.
The veteran star – whose show ran from 1995 until 1998 – said: “It would have run for another five years.”
Moonves stepped down from his position at CBS in September following the allegations made against him.
Shortly before he walked away, several women accused the TV boss of making unwanted sexual advances towards them.
He is also alleged to have treated the women unfairly after they rejected his advances.
Moonves – who has previously expressed his support for the Me Too movement – has denied all of the sexual misconduct allegations.
He said in a statement: “Untrue allegations from decades ago are now being made against me that are not consistent with who I am.”

Jason Momoa struggled finding work after Game of Thrones

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Momoa struggled to get work after ‘Game of Thrones’.
The 39-year-old actor starred as Khal Drogo – head of the Dothraki khalasar – in for the first two seasons of the HBO show and has admitted playing the brutish character, who didn’t speak, meant he wasn’t approached very often for other roles.
Appearing on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, he said: “I didn’t get much work after that (‘Game Of Thrones’).
“I mean, what do you do with that? He (his character) doesn’t speak English, he’s not funny and he just hurts people.
“I played that character well so it was a bit challenging afterwards. People would literally say, ‘Wow, you speak English!'”
Momoa also admitted he’s still yet to watch himself in ‘Aquaman’ as he wants to wait to see it with his wife Lisa Bonet and their two children; Lola, 11, and 10-year-old Nakoa-Wolf.
The Hawaiian film producer, who takes on the titular DC Comics character in the movie, said: “Here’s the thing – I have two babies aged 10 and 11. They were on set for the whole filming and they made me promise them that I wouldn’t watch it until I can watch it with them.

Momoa previously admitted he would like to take on the role of a lawyer or a romantic.
He said previously: “I don’t normally get to do ‘silly’ things. I’m normally hired to play that guy – the barbarian, the brute. After ‘Game Of Thrones’, no one was thinking I’d be perfect for a rom-com.
“I want people to see me be funny, and romantic, not just some big lug.
“It would be nice to play a doctor or a lawyer. But the truth of it is, they’ve got someone to play those roles. If I have to play a brute, how about a soft brute or one with a heart of gold? If I got offfered that then f**k it, it’s on.”

Anne Hegerty struggled to adjust to jungle life

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hegerty wanted to be “voted off first” from ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Of Here!’
The 60-year-old star – best known for her appearances as ‘The Governess’ on popular quiz show ‘The Chase’ – admitted “it took some time” for her to adjust to being in the jungle, and at first her “spirits were going down” as she tried to get used to the idea of living in the camp.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, she said: “We were walking and walking into camp – I had not had much to eat that day – and strenuous exercise on an empty stomach tends to make me wrench anyway… and as we were walking and walking and going down and down, my spirits were going down and down!
“It went from ‘I really want to win this’, to ‘I want to get voted off first’, to ‘get me out of here now!’
“It took me two days just to realise I had a sleeping bag. All the details just had to be worked out in my head and it took some time.”
Anne – who opened up about her Autism during her time in Australia – also revealed she initially wanted to turn down the offer for the reality show, but she was quickly won over by producers.
She added: “Originally I said, ‘I will never do the jungle, there’s not enough money in the world’… but my agent said, ‘They want to take you to lunch, just go to lunch with them because they work on other things and there might be other things that they want you for’.
“So I went along and they were absolutely delightful, and I found myself thinking, ‘You know, I can sort of imagine doing it’, whereas before, I had never been able to imagine myself doing it before. So I said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it.’ ”
