Oprah Winfrey ‘moved’ by support following mother’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Oprah Winfrey feels “really moved” by all the people who have reached out to her following the death of her mother Vernita Lee.
Vernita – who had the TV icon with Vernon Winfrey – passed away at the age of 83 on Thanksgiving (22.11.18) at her home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Oprah has now thanked everybody who has sent their condolences, including fellow TV host Jimmy Fallon, whose mother Gloria died last year.
She said: “I feel really, really moved by all the people who’ve reached out to me. I got a really lovely note, just yesterday, from Jimmy Fallon saying, ‘My mom’s up there, too, so if your mom has a party, tell her to call my mom.’ I feel like it was as sacred and as blessed as a passing can be.”
Oprah, 64, also revealed what she told her mother just days before she passed, as she says she made sure to thank Vernita for never giving up on her.
She added: “What I said [to her] was, ‘Thank you. Thank you, because I know it’s been hard for you. It was hard for you as a young girl having a baby, in Mississippi. No education. No training. No skills. Seventeen, you get pregnant with this baby. Lots of people would have told you to give that baby away. Lots of people would’ve told you to abort that baby. You didn’t do that. I know that was hard. I want you to know that no matter what, I know that you always did the best you knew how to do. And look how it turned out.'”
And the ‘Wrinkle In Time’ star urged her mother to “go in peace”.
Speaking to People magazine, she said: “Then I told her, ‘You should be able to … you should go in peace.’ I told her because my mother has had diabetes. Three years ago she knew she should’ve had dialysis and she didn’t want to do it. It was her choice not to do it. I said [at the time], ‘You should do whatever your body tells you to do. Nobody’s going to force you to do what you don’t want to do.’ I said, ‘You made the best decision for you, but now your body’s shutting down. This is what’s happening. Your kidneys have shut down. Your organs are going to shut down. What you want it to be, what I want it to be, is as peaceful as possible.'”

Jamie Lee Curtis would be happy to continue Halloween

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lee Curtis would be “happy” to star in another ‘Halloween’ movie.
The 60-year-old actress reprised the role of Laurie Strode for the latest instalment of the horror franchise this year, and though she would jump at the chance of playing the part in the Michael Myers-featuring Horror flick again, she doesn’t know if director David Gordon Green has any plans for more stories.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said: “I have no idea at this point, today, I have no idea.
“I would make an assumption that, if David Gordon Green has a story to tell, that the people involved with the movie would encourage him to tell it. [Laughs] I haven’t been told whether or not he has a story to tell and whether or not he would include Laurie Strode in the telling. Really, time will tell. I know David is a busy guy.”
The ‘Freaky Friday’ star – who found out out about her casting call through actor Jake Gyllenhaal – hailed director David as “fantastic” but admitted she doesn’t know what the “future” would hold for her alter ego.
She spilled: “I’d be happy to do it, sure.
“This was an extraordinary experience.
“David was a fantastic director, writer, but obviously this 2018, 40th anniversary, was Laurie’s story, and obviously there are now other people’s stories that would need to get told.
“But Laurie’s story was told beautifully this year, and I would have no way of knowing how they would incorporate her into future.”
Previously, Jason Blum from production company Blumhouse said he was “100 percent” on board with the idea of continuing the ‘Halloween’ franchise, and Myer’s (James Jude Courtney) reign of terror.
He said: “Yeah, for sure, for sure, 100 percent. Let me tell you, if we got six movies out of [‘Paranormal Activity’] – they found new footage five times in a row! – I feel like we can figure out the next chapter. But we’ll see.”

Ariana Grande’s Imagine single to focus on her ‘failed relationships’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande’s “failed relationships” will be the focus of her new song ‘Imagine’.
The 25-year-old singer is due to drop her latest single on Thursday (13.12.18), and she took to her Instagram Story to reveal the tune will be about the “denial” she has faced in her life, while her recent track ‘Thank U, Next’ was about “acceptance”.
She wrote: “A lot of this album mourns failed yet important beautiful relationships in my life (as well as celebrates growth / exploring new independence) but for those of you asking about imagine: i would say if ‘thank u, next’ = acceptance… ‘imagine’ = denial. hope that makes sense. (sic)”
Ariana’s most recent tune ‘Thank U, Next’ name checks her exes Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, Pete Davidson and the late Mac Miller, who died in September aged 26.
The ‘No Tears Left to Cry’ hitmaker confirmed this week her new single will drop on Thursday,
Following fan speculation about what the tune might be about, she tweeted: “Kind of like… pretending it never ended. denial. but i look forward to you hearing it and having your own experience with it.
“You may take away something totally different and specific to your life! love u. (sic)”
Ariana recently admitted she will take more control of her own music in the future, insisting she doesn’t want to “conform to the pop star agenda”.
She said: “I don’t want to do what people tell me to do, I don’t want to conform to the pop star agenda. I want to do it on my own terms from now on.
“If I want to tour two albums at once, I’m going to tour two albums at once. If I want to drop a third album while I’m on tour [in 2019], I’ll do that too! Please.
“I want to be able to do what is authentic and honest and natural. It’s the only way that I’ve been able to survive.”

Avril Lavigne announces release date for new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Avril Lavigne will release her first album in five years on February 15.
The 34-year-old Canadian star unveiled details of her first record since being diagnosed with Lyme Disease, ‘Head Above Water’, and also shared the second single ‘Tell Me It’s Over’ – which is about the end of a relationship.
Alongside the artwork, Avril – who was previously married to Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley and Nickelback star Chad Kroeger – tweeted: “I’m so excited that I can finally share with you, that my new album will be released on February 15, 2019. You can pre-order #HeadAboveWater here: https://avrillavigne.lnk.to/HeadAboveWaterAlbumTW … (sic)”
The album’s title track and lead single details the ‘Complicated’ hitmaker’s battle with the infection.
She said previously: “One night, I thought I was dying, and I had accepted that I was going to die.
“My mom laid with me in bed and held me. I felt like I was drowning. Under my breath, I prayed ‘God, please help to keep my head above the water.’
“In that moment, the song writing of this album began.
“It was like I tapped into something. It was a very spiritual experience. Lyrics flooded through me from that point on.”
‘Head Above Water’ starts off as a ballad before it transitions into rock with the lyrics: “God keep my head above water / Don’t let me drown, it’s getting harder / I’ll meet you there at the altar/ As I fall down to my knees / Don’t let me drown.”
The ‘Sk8er Boi’ singer developed Lyme Disease, which is passed on via infected ticks, at the beginning of 2014 but it wasn’t until she flew to Las Vegas to celebrate her 30th birthday in the October that she realised she wasn’t well.
She said at the time: “I could barely eat, and when we went to the pool, I had to leave and go lie in bed. My friends asked, ‘What’s wrong?’ I didn’t know.”
After months of feeling lethargic and light headed, she finally got her diagnosis.
She explained: “I had no idea a bug bite could do this…I was bedridden for five months. This was a wake-up call. I really just want to enjoy life from here on out.”
‘Head Above Water’ is the follow-up to Avril’s 2013 self-titled studio album.
The track-listing for ‘Head Above Water’ is as follows:
‘Head Above Water’

Harry Redknapp: Jamie and Louise’s divorce was ‘a big blow’

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Redknapp says his son Jamie Redknapp’s divorce from wife Louise was “very difficult” for their family.
Despite the disappointment, the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ winner admitted he and his wife Sandra, 71, are still on good terms with the 44-year-old singer, who has kids Charley, 13, and Beau, nine, with Jamie.
He said: “It was very difficult for us, it was a choker. We love Louise as well, it was a big blow to all of us.
“It’s all amicable, absolutely, Sandra talks to Louise’s mum all the time.”
Harry’s fellow campmate Emily Atack has made no secret of the fact she would love to hook up with Sky Sports pundit Jamie – who split from Louise last year after 19 years of marriage – but Harry wasn’t a big fan of some of her language in the Australian jungle.
He added to The Sun newspaper: “The girls are in a different world. Emily was saying stuff I never thought I’d hear a woman say, like, ‘We’re going down to the creek for a minge wash.’
“I’m thinking I can’t believe this, when I tell my missus she’ll go ‘no way – they never said that. Kids today… time’s moved on.”
Earlier this week, Jamie played down talk of him potentially going on a date with Emily.
When asked by ex-Aston Villa footballer Dean Saunders on talkSPORT’s ‘Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast’ show what would be more likely out of Liverpool winning the Champions League or Jamie taking Emily out, he responded: “What’s more likely did you say?
“Ah Deano come on. Leave it out.
“Listen, she’s a very nice girl isn’t she. Let’s leave it at that.”
After exiting the jungle last weekend, Emily admitted she may have a chance with Jamie now she has got her make-up on again.
She said: “I am sure if he had seen me in action over the last few weeks he might not be up for it.
“But I’ve got my make up on now, so he might be!”
Harry also admitted Emily has a better chance with his son now she has “scrubbed up”.
He said: “I’ll be honest, when I saw her in the jungle I thought, ‘No chance.’
“I thought, ‘No, you ain’t got a prayer.’
“But I’ve seen her today when she’s scrubbed up and she looks alright, I’m telling you.”

Jamie Dornan relishes playing dark characters

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Dornan jumped at the chance to play a menacing character in ‘Death And Nightingales’.
The 36-year-old actor reunited with ‘The Fall’s Allan Cubitt for the BBC programme – which is based on Eugene McCabe’s novel of the same name – to take for the role of Liam Ward, and has opened up about how portraying such a complex person was refreshing.
The ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ star told RadioTimes magazine: “There’s a lot about Liam that is hard to work out … the sort of manipulation and the darkness that he possesses is something that I relish, you know; I think a lot of actors relish the idea of that.”
‘Death And Nightingales’, based in the Fermanagh countryside in 1885, was a three part series that followed the story of Beth Winters (Ann Skelly) as she runs away from her everyday life with Liam (Dornan) on her 25th birthday. Desperate to get away from her tough life with Protestant landowner stepfather Billy (Rhys), Beth’s need to escape leads to devastating consequences.
The series was set during The Troubles – a period of conflict between Catholics and Protestants – and Jamie says his atheist upbringing in Holywood, Northern Ireland, influenced his part.
He said: “You can’t have grown up in Northern Ireland in the time that I did and not be affected by The Troubles.
“I think I have a good understanding of it from both sides.
“I’m an atheist, and I always was [an atheist] growing up.
“I’ve never really felt that I’ve belonged to either side, and a lot of that was driven because of the situation there.”
Jamie previously said he was “thrilled” to work with Allan again.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be reunited with Allan and his brilliant scripts to play such an intriguing character like Liam Ward and to return to Northern Ireland and BBC Two.”
‘Death And Nightingales’ concluded on BBC Two on Wednesday night (12.12.18).

Ken Jeong ‘flattered’ to be linked to Oscars role

OHMYGOSSIP — Ken Jeong feels “flattered” by the talk of him hosting the Oscars in 2019.
The 49-year-old star has been touted by former host Whoopi Goldberg as the perfect candidate to replace comedian Kevin Hart in the role after he recently quit the coveted job amid a controversy about some of his old Twitter posts.
Responding to the comments Whoopi recently made on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, Ken said: “I was just so flattered that Whoopie had even said that.
“I didn’t even know she was gonna go on ‘Colbert’. I just saw her on ‘The View’ yesterday morning, and, off camera, she was really serious about it. Like, ‘You know, you should host,’ and ‘I’m gonna talk to the Academy,’ and it was so lovely, you know, coming from her.”
The actor attributes the talk to the success of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’, which is one of very few films by a major Hollywood studio to feature a majority Asian-American cast.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “This is more of an embarrassment of riches situation, where I think it’s all about ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ and its unexpected box office success that has even allowed this chatter to happen.”
Ken also admitted he’d relish the opportunity to host the annual awards show.
He said: “If they asked me to be an on-set medic for it, I’d be glad.
“I think the Academy has done an amazing job in kind of just trying to get more representation on screen … and I really think, with the success of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’, ‘Black Panther’ and so many amazing movies right now, and so much diversity that is in these amazing movies, it’s exciting. It makes me so proud and excited to call myself an actor.”
Meanwhile, Kevin recently stood down as the host of the Oscars after old tweets that contained homophobic remarks and offensive slurs resurfaced online.
Kevin said: “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscars.
“This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologise to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.”

Kendra Wilkinson gives amusing ‘dating life’ update

OHMYGOSSIP — Kendra Wilkinson insists her “days of trying” in the dating game are over as she looks beyond her divorce from Hank Baskett.
The 33-year-old star recently refiled for divorce from Hank, and she has now given fans an update on her “dating life” by sharing an amusing exchange with a friend.
In a screenshot posted to Twitter, Kendra tells her pal: “Those days of trying r over. I’m too special to put myself out there like that. I see myself that high up (sic)”
While her friend suggested she could wear leggings and a pair of sneakers and doesn’t necessarily need to “dress up”, the star was having none of it.
She replied: “I ain’t gonna do s**t. (sic)”
And when her friend told her to “be sexy but comfortable”, Kendra simply said: “Nope.”
Earlier this month, meanwhile, Kendra and Hank reportedly refiled for divorce.
The former couple apparently resubmitted documents to the court, after their previous divorce judgement, which was filed with the court on October 29, was rejected on a technicality.
Prior to that, Kendra admitted it’s not been easy to adjust to being alone after the end of her marriage – but she’s been trying her best to cope.
She confessed: “Been taking a lot of patience, empathy and discipline…. well, except with the d*** head I flipped off on the road the other day. (sic)”
Kendra also revealed she was focusing on herself for the time being.
She shared: “Been dating myself lately. Getting to know myself and even falling in love. Love and happiness is real without waiting on someone or something to do it for you.”

The Backstreet Boys ‘drifted apart’ as their success grew

OHMYGOSSIP — The Backstreet Boys drifted apart as their success grew in the 90s, according to Kevin Richardson.
The chart-topping band – who are set to release their first album since 2013, ‘DNA’, in January – “retreated from one another” as their global fame and popularity increased.
Kevin – who stars in the group alongside AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, and Brian Littrell – recalled: “All of our dreams were coming true and we were all tripping out inside, and instead of coming closer and closer, entire together, we almost retreated from one another to get that space.
“And our bond wasn’t as tight in those moments as it could’ve been.”
Kevin quit the group to pursue other endeavours in 2006, before returning in 2012.
And the singer feels that the time they’ve spent apart from each other has ultimately proven to be beneficial.
He told the band’s YouTube channel: “We had to go away from each other to once again find that individuality.
“That had to happen to create that group that we are to come back to each other.”
In fact, Nick described the group as being more of a family “than my real family”.
And the 38-year-old singer is delighted that the Backstreet Boys are making new music together once again.
He said: “It’s kind of crazy because it feels like the stars are kind of aligning again for us in a way. Because if you think about where we came from and how we started, it’s like a miracle that we would’ve met each other. That we would’ve bonded and connected the way we did.”
In spite of their success, AJ also insisted the band feel they have lots of ambitions they’d still like to accomplish.
He said: “There is still so much left that we haven’t accomplished, that we haven’t done.
“To be able to have this, second chance, we need to know what each person’s breaking point is, which I think we know now.”

EastEnders’ set rebuild ’27m over budget’

OHMYGOSSIP — EastEnders’ set rebuild is £27 million over budget and will not deliver “value for money”, according to auditors.
The BBC are constructing a new Albert Square set for the soap, known as the E20 project, to make it suitable for HD filming, but a report, entitled ‘E20: renewing the EastEnders set’, by The National Audit Office (NAO) claims there has been “insufficient construction project management expertise”, among other issues.
The report states: “The BBC built the external filming set for EastEnders (including ‘Albert Square’) in 1984, and originally planned to use it for two years.
“It has lasted for 34 years but is no longer fit for purpose.
“There are, for example, filming delays and maintenance costs as a result of stoppages in production due to health and safety concerns.
“The BBC will not be able to deliver value for money on the E20 programme in the way that it envisaged in 2015.
“Disappointingly, some of the reasons for this were built into E20 at the outset and could have been addressed earlier.
“These include insufficient construction project management expertise that contributed to a lack of appropriate technical challenge, inadequate integration between the programme team and end users, and early planning processes that led to underestimation of aspects of complexity, cost and risks of its revised approach.
“The programme costs have also been adversely impacted by inflation in the construction industry across the UK, which has had a greater impact than it would have done had the programme completed without any delays.
“E20 has been subject to ongoing scrutiny and reporting and, in the past 18 months, the BBC has made many improvements to the programme and various elements of E20 have been completed.
“Furthermore, the benefits of the programme still appear to be broadly achievable, albeit at a later date.”
According to the NAO’s report, the BBC set a £59.7 million budget for the E20 programme in October 2015, but this was then revised to £86.7 million – a £27 million increase – which was approved in May 2018.
There has also been a 31-month delay in the BBC completing the programme compared to its initial October 2015 plans, from October 2020 to May 2023.
There are plans to make a Front Lot, which will feature a remake of Albert Square and the traditional set, and a Back Lot, which will look like some of the more modern London streets.
The BBC said in a statement: “The show remains one of the BBC’s flagship programmes and yet is filming from a set that is no longer fit for purpose.
“The new set will be suitable for HD filming for the first time and extend Walford to better reflect modern East End London.
“It’s a large, complex project which has already delivered many other vital improvements at BBC Elstree Centre but like any building work of this scale there have been challenges on the way, including construction market issues beyond our control and from working on a brownfield site.
“As the NAO recognises we’ve already made improvements and are keeping the project under close scrutiny.”

Nick Knowles to auction I’m A Celebrity pants

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Knowles is putting his ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ pants up for auction.
The 56-year-old TV presenter’s red budgie smugglers became one of the stars of the latest series of the Australian jungle-based show, and he is giving one lucky bidder the chance to win his titchy trunks to make some money for charity.
Nick – who vowed to donate any royalties from his cover of ‘Make You Feel My Love’ after the song went to number one while he was in the jungle – said: “Weirdly, I’ve been asked if I will take them to auction.
“If anybody would bid for them, I don’t know?
“So, I’ve put them up for auction so they can make some money and I’ll put that towards one of the charities I support.
“The same thing with the single when that went to number one.
“If anything comes from the auction I’ll do the same with that. It’ll all be a bit of fun.”
Nick’s song went to number one on the iTunes Chart thanks to a campaign by radio presenter Chris Moyles, and following the news the ‘DIY SOS’ host was shown to be playing a guitar in camp.
But Nick has now revealed the programme’s producers kept asking him to strum the instrument only to then tell the audience he “couldn’t wait to play the guitar”.
He added: “Obviously I realised Moylesy had done it as a bit of a laugh and you take it all on the chin.
“But on the Bush Telegraph tannoy they go, ‘Nick, would you play the guitar? Go on play the guitar.’
“‘No I won’t play the guitar.’ Then it’s, ‘James, give him the guitar.’
“So you play the guitar and they say, ‘Nick couldn’t wait to play the guitar.’
“They’re fun though and they’re great people.”
Nick recently revealed he was suffering a shoulder injury in camp after ripping two tendons just a week before the show.
He was able to take part in the programme thanks to cortisone injections, but didn’t want to tell his fellow campmates because he didn’t want the “sympathy vote”.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he added: “I didn’t want a sympathy vote. I wanted to just do it and get on with it and get through the other side.
“But that’s why I used to sit in that freezing cold pool, because it would freeze my shoulder.
“I hate cold water as well.”

Laurence Fishburne admits Apocalypse Now transformed his career

OHMYGOSSIP — Laurence Fishburne admits starring in 1979’s ‘Apocalypse Now’ transformed his career.
The 57-year-old actor appeared alongside the likes of Martin Sheen, Marlon Brando and Robert Duvall in the Francis Ford Coppola-directed war film, and he’s confessed that the film proved to be a turning point in his career.
He said: “That movie was really the beginning of me thinking of myself as an artist.
“It was the beginning of my understanding of cinema, it was the beginning of my understanding of the world, because I was suddenly taken out of Brooklyn and I was in the Philippines in the middle of Asia.
“I was in a place where most of the people looked like me, so it opened up a whole world of possibilities. My work with Francis on ‘Apocalypse Now’ and all the films I did afterwards with him really shaped me and formed me as an artist.”
Laurence also admitted Clint Eastwood has been another influential figure in his career.
He confessed to being impressed by the “simplicity” and “ease” of his film-making.
The Hollywood star told Collider: “I was forty-something by the time I got to work with Clint on ‘Mystic River’ and I experienced a kind of film-making I hadn’t experienced before – his simplicity, his ease.
“He has a crew of people who have been working with him for decades so they have a shorthand and don’t have to talk a lot. Things moved very quickly and again I was with an incredible crew of actors: Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon, Laura Linney, Marcia Gay Harden. It was fantastic.
“‘Apocalypse Now’ took two years to make and I was 14 and I thought that was normal, because it was only my second movie. Forty years later I made a film with Clint Eastwood with all these people and it took 25 days. It’s a different style.”

Aaron Sorkin’s Chicago 7 film ‘put on hold’

OHMYGOSSIP — Aaron Sorkin’s ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ has been put on hold.
The 57-year-old director was due to write and helm the movie, which has Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne and Jonathan Majors attached, but the filmmaker is said to be concentrating on his Broadway play ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ for the time being.
Producers Amblin Entertainment – founded by Steven Spielberg – said in a statement: “Aaron just adapted ‘To Kill a Mockingbird,’ which is premiering on Broadway this Thursday.
“He is currently evaluating his schedule and commitments to determine the best time and way to make ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’. Amblin remains involved as a producer.”
Sources told Variety that Sorkin in focusing on his play ahead of its Thursday (13.12.18) release.
The movie will be based on the 1969 trial of seven defendants who were charged by the federal government with conspiracy, following the counter-cultural protests in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention.
Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the motion picture was in pre-production and heading for a February start, but insiders claim budgetary concerns could’ve played a part in putting the movie on hold.
But this is not the first time the film has faced issues.
Spielberg initially considered directing the political drama himself in 2008, but the film was delayed because of a writer’s strike and he then couldn’t find the time to take it on.
The filmmaker tried to get the motion picture off the ground again in 2013, with Paul Greengrass attached to direct, but he moved on and the project was shelved due to budget issues.
But Sorkin was later approached after he made his directorial debut in 2017’s ‘Molly’s Game’.

Kanye West calls out Bob Dylan

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West has “called out” to Bob Dylan for a possible collaboration.
The 41-year-old rapper posted an open invite to the legendary singer songwriter as he appeared to suggest he wants to work on some music with the ‘Don’t Think Twice It’s All Right’ star.
Taking to social media, Kanye simply tweeted: “Calling out to Bob Dylan… Let’s get together”
Dylan doesn’t have an official Twitter account himself, so it remains to be seen if he will be aware of Kanye reaching out.
The star is no stranger to working with music icons from other genres, having previously teamed up with Sir Paul McCartney and Rihanna on hit single ‘FourFiveSeconds’ three years ago.
However, former Blur frontman Damon Albarn previously made his feelings known about the collaboration as he branded it “abusive”.
He said: “Do not get me started on Kanye West, Kanye West trapped Paul McCartney. It’s rude, it’s not good.
“I have a problem with this abusive collaboration: we’re talking about Paul McCartney, anyway! Kanye West thinks only about Kanye West, uses a name to make headlines, to say ‘McCartney is in my song’, and puts McCartney in the video, but not in the song itself …
“Before he decided to work with Kanye West, I sent a text message to McCartney saying, ‘beware’, but he ignored it, he does what he wants, it’s Paul McCartney. Kanye West is one of those people who feed on other people.”
Macca has since responded to Damon’s rant, and insited he doesn’t take advice from people when it comes to getting enjoyment from its art.
He previously explained: “I love the respect someone like Damon is attributing to me, but I’m not that fussed. If I want to go somewhere else from where I normally go or where I’m expected to go, I’ll go. And if I enjoy it, that’s enough for me.
“The great thing is, all sorts of hysterical things come out of it. I mean, there’s a lot of people think Kanye discovered me. And that’s not a joke.”

The Vaccines explain why they have such short songs

OHMYGOSSIP — The Vaccines write such short songs because they’re part of the “iPod generation”.
The ‘Wreckin’ Bar (Ra Ra Ra)’ hitmakers – whose debut single is just 90 seconds long – have penned a long of tracks clocking in at less than three minutes, and while frontman Justin Hayward-Young insisted it “comes naturally”, he does think there are some underlying reasons.
He told Billboard: “It’s not a conscious thing … it just comes naturally.
“A lot of the great pop music in the ’50s, ’60s, and then the great punk rock and hardcore of the ’70s and ’80s was all sub-3 minutes.
“I think the origins of pop are of that nature. I’m [also] quite A.D.D. I think we are the iPod generation; we like instant gratification.”
Meanwhile, the ‘All My Friends Are Falling In Love’ singer also admitted it can be tough to improve on previous records.
The band released their latest album ‘Combat Sports’ earlier this year, and Justin explained that confidence in what you’re creating is key for a songwriter.
He added: “Every time you make a record, you’d think that you’ve found the winning formula or that you are righting the wrongs of the previous record, no matter how proud of it you are.
“I think that’s the only way that people continue to create art: You have to believe that what you are doing now is better than you were doing before.”
The Vaccines will be on the road in early 2019 for a huge UK tour kicking off at the Waterside Theatre in Aylebury on January 24.

Little Mix asked to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief

OHMYGOSSIP — Little Mix are among the stars who have been asked to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief next year.
The popular girl group, along with James Corden, Jonathan Ross and Robbie Williams are said to have attracted the attention of BBC producers who are looking for big names to scale the Tanzanian mountain for the charity event.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “The last trip did brilliant numbers, both in terms of viewers and money raised.
“They are now planning another one-off 60-minute special, and are hoping to raise a shed load of money again.
“The plan is to air it around Red Nose Day in March.”
Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa and stands at 5,895 metres.
Every year around 1,000 people are evacuated from the mountain and approximately 10 deaths are reported, although the actual number of deaths is believed to be three times higher.
In 2009, Gary Barlow, Ronan Keating, Chris Moyles, Ben Shephard, Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, Denise Van Outen, Fearne Cotton and Alesha Dixon set off to Tanzania to tackle Mount Kilamanjaro with project manager and guide Jeremy Gane of Charity Challenge.
Cheryl, Fearne, Denise and Ben reached the summit first at sunrise.
Then-British Prime Minister Gordon Brown met with the group upon their return to the UK, and said they were “inspiring a generation of kids” with their bravery.
The climb raised an excess of £3.5 million with over £1.8 million coming from the audience of BBC Radio 1 – which was a record for the station.
Comic Relief has raised more than £1 billion since it launched in 1985.
The charity says it uses the money to “tackle the root causes of poverty and social injustice in the UK and across the world”.
