EastEnders confirm Tom Watt and Linda Davidson return

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ have confirmed Tom Watt and Linda Davidson will return to the soap for one episode next year.
The pair will reprise their respective roles as George “Lofty” Holloway and Mary “The Punk” Smith in the BBC One show, after three decades away from Albert Square, to pay their respects to Doctor Harold Legg (Leonard Fenton), who will lose his battle with pancreatic cancer.
Tom said: “I was delighted John Yorke asked me if I would return to ‘EastEnders’ for Doctor Legg’s funeral.
“Doctor Legg is an iconic character so it feels fitting that Lofty should return to say goodbye.
“I have nothing but good memories from my time on ‘EastEnders’, so it will be lovely to set foot back in Albert Square all these years later.”
Linda is “so thrilled” about reprising her role as Mary, who was the original Walford wild child, a punk rocker who turned to drugs which led to difficulties bringing up her child.
She added: “‘EastEnders’ was my first proper family. It gave me stability and a fantastic foundation from which to build an incredible life.
“The people of ‘EastEnders’ have been a consistent thread throughout the intervening years.
“I am so thrilled, and very proud to be returning to that family 35 years later. It’s going to be a blast.”
‘EastEnders’ bosses began contacting Tom and Linda about potentially return to Albert Square after Leonard agreed to head back to Walford.
John Yorke, EastEnders’ executive consultant, added: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have Tom and Linda back for these small but incredibly important roles.
“As soon as Leonard Fenton agreed to return as Doctor Legg, it seemed just the best possible tribute we could pay both his character and the show.
“Mary and Lofty are huge iconic characters, and a central part of the shows’ DNA.
“Though both have moved on to hugely successful careers elsewhere we are both thrilled and touched to have them back for one very special episode.”
Lofty departed Walford in April 1988 after his marriage to Michelle Fowler (Susan Tully) broke down, and the former Queen Vic barman embarked on a new career as a social worker.
Tom turned his hand to sports journalism, presenting on radio stations talkSPORT and Radio 5 Live.
Linda was last seen on screen in May 1988 and went on to star in ‘First of the Summer Wine’ before forging a career in digital media.

James Wan: Making Aquaman’s suit cool was tough

OHMYGOSSIP — James Wan admits it was “a challenge” making a cool version of the ‘Aquaman’ suit.
The filmmaker behind the new blockbuster wanted to find a way to pay tribute to the DC Comics material while giving the character – played by Jason Momoa – an edgier twist in the iconic green and yellow.
Speaking to Cinemablend, he said: “It’s not the easiest suit to make look cool. [Laughs] If you are doing a Batman movie, that’s an easy one to make look cool! But an Aquaman suit? It was a bit of a challenge.
“But at the end of the day, what ultimately made it work was that the suit itself is so inherently part of the story. And the fact that it actually has an origin.”
Wan explained how the costume’s beginnings as the suit of the “first king of Atlantis” added weight to it being included, and meant he wasn’t simply including it for the sake of it.
He added: “The suit itself, it belonged to the first king of Atlantis. By doing stuff like that, by working it into the story and plot of the film, it just gives it a bit more weight, and it’s not just a cool suit, or whatever, for the sake of making him look like the comic book character. “Though, I really wanted him to wear his classic suit, but it took a lot of design work to get it there, to get it looking right.”
Meanwhile, it has been revealed ‘Aquaman’ has already passed the $250 million mark at the box office even before its US release on December 21.
It pulled in $126.4 million over the weekend from 43 territories, putting its global total at $261.3 million.
Its biggest audience has been in China thus far, with another $52.2 million earned just this past weekend alone.

Lin-Manuel Miranda loved bringing his son on set for Mary Poppins Returns

OHMYGOSSIP — Lin-Manuel Miranda brought his son on set for every ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ musical number.
The 38-year-old star – who plays lamplighter Jack opposite Emily Blunt’s magical nanny in the highly anticipated sequel – has Sebastian, four, and 10-month-old Francisco with wife Vanessa Nadal, and he has revealed his eldest child loved loved seeing it unfold.
Asked about his highlights making the film, Miranda said: “Coming from the theater, where the only thing that changes in the performance is the audience and your energy that day, to go, ‘Okay, Thursday, we’ll be shutting down Buckingham Palace and riding with 500 bicyclists. And Friday, I’ll be dancing with the penguins,’ those kinds of moments are really unforgettable.
“I brought my son to set, every time that we filmed a musical number, and to watch his eyes like saucers while daddy danced with what seemed like 500 dancers and bikers. I’ll never forget the look on his face, as long as I live.”
The ‘Hamilton’ star also commented on the chemistry between Mary and his own character, and insisted that there has always been that side to the nanny.
He explained:”First of all, I would urge you to re-watch the first film. Burt has a 30-second rap about all of the women he dated before Mary Poppins. ‘Jolly Holiday’ is one big flirt between Mary and Burt.”
While Blunt suggested there isn’t “necessarily romantic” intentions there, she agreed that was a flirtatious element.
She added: “The enigmatic master plan is to set him up with Jane Banks, but I enjoyed playing the flirtation of it.
“They are such kindred spirits. Even though he’s not necessarily magical, he gets it and believes it, and they’re in cahoots with each other.
“I loved playing that chemistry with Lin, and I was so lucky to get to play it with him because he’s so wonderful at bouncing it back and forth.”

The Script hail James Arthur ‘fantastic artist’ despite lawsuit

OHMYGOSSIP — The Script think James Arthur is a “fantastic artist” – despite suing him for copyright infringement.
The chart-topping Irish group filed a lawsuit against the singer in May, in which they alleged the ‘X Factor’ winner’s 2016 hit ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ rips off their 2008 single ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’.
However, the band’s guitarist, Mark Sheehan – who is joined in the trio by frontman Danny O’Donoghue and drummer Glen Power – says they do not wish to “put down” the 30-year-old star.
Mark told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “The thing about these things is everyone gets into a ‘he said, she said’ thing, and we don’t want to put James down.
“I don’t want anyone to put us down, so you’ve got to protect everybody’s career.
“We think James is a fantastic artist.”
The same can’t be said for James, who branded the group “snakes” in a freestyle rap on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge in July.
Amidst a cover of Jorja Smith’s ‘Blue Lights’ and in reference to their on-going legal battle, the singer belted out: “Did you see – those desperate men call for desperate times. But they will never see a single flipping dime of mine.
“I’m dynamite; every single line I write, inspired by life. You can get your lawyers to indict me. You rich fellows that jealous you would spite me.
“You should know I never follow The Script. I rip it up and I flip it; I’m from the gutters of Britain.
I went from nothin’ to millions, my fingers up in the system.
“So listen: check to check, check check to count my melody. I’m all up in your business like Ron Jeremy. People keep on telling me I’m meant for the top.
“All the snakes full of jealousy are praying I’ll flop.
“You’ll do nothin’ – except kick on a rock. I’ll be so flippin’ high I’ll be riding with Spock.
I got money, the cars – everything I ever wanted.”
The band are being represented by Richard Busch – who previously represented Marvin Gaye’s estate in a successful lawsuit against Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams over ‘Blurred Lines’.
The ‘Impossible’ hitmaker has previously insisted there is “no case” to answer.
He said last year: “It’s 2017, there’s only seven notes in music.
“Every blues song sounds the f***ing same. People get wound up about these things for no reason.”

Olly Alexander almost quit Years and Years after public break-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Alexander came close to quitting Years & Years after his public split from Neil-Amin Smith.
The ‘If You’re Over Me’ singer has admitted his break-up from the former Clean Bandit violinist in 2015, after a year of dating, hit him hard because not only was he dealing with the pressures of being in a touring pop group, but he also struggled to cope with the intense spotlight surrounding the end of their relationship, and nearly gave up his career as a result.
Appearing on George Ezra’s ‘George Ezra & Friends’ podcast, he admitted: “I was in this relationship at the time with this guy Neil from Clean Bandit and that was sort of becoming a bit public.
“Suddenly there was this moment where we were breaking up, basically, and I had been on tour for about two years and so many things had changed, and our relationship was being talked about in the press, and I just felt like it wasn’t worth it.
“I was like, ‘I just do not want this in my life, I’d rather not have any of this.'”
A lot changed for the 28-year-old frontman when Years & Years were propelled into the spotlight following the release of their first record, ‘Communion’, which was the fastest-selling debut album of 2015.
Despite being in the public eye, Olly is grateful that he is now able to support his family and even pay for the drinks on a night out, which he “dreamed” of as a teenager.
He told the ‘Shotgun’ hitmaker: “This things that success came with, things I always dream about … like I don’t come from money, but earning money allowed me to provide for my family, and support them, and support myself, and it’s changed my life for the better.
“It’s very weird to go from not being able to go out for a drink as it’s way easier to stay at home and drink, for me to go, ‘I can pay for us to go.'”
Meanwhile, Olly previously admitted he felt “miserable” and “angry” when he and his bandmates couldn’t agree on songs for their second album.
The trio – completed by Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Turkmen – experienced a “nightmare” process making ‘Palo Santo’ and on top of having creative differences for months, their record label Polydor were just as “angry” that they didn’t have the songs ready.
The ‘King’ singer spilled: “We could never agree on what sounded good or what we liked.
“Then six months down the line, we still had no songs and the label were really angry and annoyed.”
On top of the band’s difficult second record, Olly was also going through an emotional time with his troubled relationship with his father.
The two things combined made Olly’s success feel like a “fairy tale” gone wrong.
He admitted: “It was a nightmare. I felt so miserable and I was so angry because I’d worked so hard to be in this position, and it’s very weird to feel like you’re in this fairy tale that’s going wrong and you’re desperate to put it back on the right track.”
The ‘Sanctify’ hitmaker says in the end, the band agreed to follow his vision for the record and they put their differences aside.
He said: “Ultimately, we do love each other.”

The 31-year-old broadcaster and 27-year-old vlogger will co-present the spectacular bash – which will feature music from pop group Madness – live from Central Hall Westminster in London.
Stacey said: “2018 has been such a fantastic year for me, working on some hard-hitting documentaries as well as ‘Strictly’, has been a real treat.
“Presenting with Joe Sugg at the New Year’s Eve concert with Madness is the perfect ending to such a great year.”

“What a great finale to a terrific year. Bring on 2019.”
The pair will count down to midnight and gear up audiences for a spectacular fireworks display which will light up London over the River Thames.
After the display, Madness will carry on the party with plenty more music.
Stacey – known for making numerous documentaries for the BBC – lit up the ‘Strictly’ dance floor this year with a series of sensational performances alongside her pro partner Kevin Clifton, and the pair lifted the Glitterball Trophy last weekend after viewers voted them the winners.

Dom Joly’s life-threatening snoring

OHMYGOSSIP — Dom Joly’s snoring was so bad he was at risk of having a stroke or a heart attack.
The 51-year-old comedian has opened up about his sleep struggles after being diagnosed with sleep apnoea in September, and doctors told him the condition would become life-threatening if he didn’t do something about it.
The ‘Trigger Happy TV’ star is quoted by the Daily Mail newspaper as saying:”It mainly occurs in overweight men over 45. I weighed two stone, too heavy for my 6ft height.
“Sleep apnoea makes you stop breathing for up to 90 seconds at a time and, in my case, up to 90 times a night.
“I was told it was probably caused by my tongue moving back and blocking the airways.
“The result was that my heart began pumping blood faster and faster around my body.
“It transpired that, for the better part of a decade, I hadn’t been getting proper REM (rapid eye movement) sleep which is important for brain function.
“He went on to say that, if I didn’t do something about it soon, in 10 years’ time, if I was still alive, I’d have developed a pronounced risk of having a stroke or heart attack.
“That really freaked me out.”
Sleep apnoea is a sleep disorder characterised by pauses in breathing or periods of shallow breathing during sleep.
Dom was advised to use a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine – which involves wearing a mask over your nose while you sleep that pumps pressurised air to keep to the airway open – and quickly saw results.
He said: “Some people find it an encumbrance but I took to it immediately.
“I’ll never forget waking up the first morning having used the CPAP machine…. I felt so sharp, it was incredible, as though I could take on anything.”

Matt Evers hits out at Megan Barton Hanson’s Dancing on Ice criticism

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Evers has hit out at Megan Barton Hanson after she claimed her boyfriend Wes Nelson’s ‘Dancing on Ice’ outfits are “so not manly”.
The 42-year-old pro skater – who is partnering Gemma Collins in this year’s series – has slammed the ‘Love Island’ star for criticising the show’s wardrobe, insisting there is “nothing unmanly about ‘Dancing on Ice'”.
He wrote: “Hmmmm Megan…. don’t think picking girls up for a living and wearing Lycra…. is unmanly or cringey (see second pic). This show is my career and my passion. It’s unfair to criticize this show and the work we are all putting in. There’s nothing unmanly about @dancingonice (sic)”
Matt’s comments come after Megan admitted she was “nervous” to see Wes – who she met on the ITV2 dating show this summer – wearing tight sequinned outfits on the ice, and said she is going to “cringe so hard” watching him on the programme.
When asked if she will go to the studio to support him on dance nights, she replied: “Do you know what? I’m nervous to see him in sequins.
“I think I’m going to cringe so hard. That is so not manly.
“So we’ll see how it goes. First week, if he’s not absolutely repulsive and cringing me out, I might go back.”
Megan also admitted she finds it hard to watch the “ballroom faces” the skaters pull on the ice.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine, she added: “It’s the ballroom faces they do. I can’t watch that.”
But Wes hasn’t been hard at training recently as his pro partner Vanessa Bauer admitted last week that he has missed some sessions while on holiday in Mauritius.
She said: “Well rehearsals are going well whenever we are on the ice training.
“He is very, very, ambitious and he is very talented as well.
“He really wants to get far in this competition and he is so tight on his schedule.
“He has so many appearances everywhere; he is so high-on demand which is amazing for him!
“He is in Mauritius at the minute on holiday.”

Noel Gallagher accuses brother Liam of never caring about Oasis fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has accused his brother Liam Gallagher of not caring about Oasis fans.
The ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker is adamant that if his former bandmate – who he has been at loggerheads with ever since he quit the band in August 2009, following a huge backstage bust-up between the two siblings – was serious about getting the group back together, the 46-year-old singer wouldn’t have “walked off stage 25 times” when he was in the ‘Some Might Say’ band.
Speaking about Liam’s notoriety for turning up late to gigs and often not completing their shows during their heyday in the mid-90s and early 2000s, Noel fumed: “Liam wants to do it for his ego – he never gave a s*** about the fans.
“He wouldn’t have walked off stage 25 times in his career if he gave a s*** about the fans.”
The 51-year-old rocker says, despite his younger sibling’s constant pleas to reform the iconic rock band, he wouldn’t even reunite the Britpop group if he had just £50 to his name.
On whether he’d ever agree to reunite Oasis, he told Mojo magazine: “Not a cat in hell’s chance.
“At the beginning I would have said to my management, there’s a magic number.
“If it reaches that magic number I’ll do it.
“Give me a shout. A couple of monster gigs.
“Even a tour of the big cities, a world tour, stadiums, burn a load of money, buy a yacht, buy a plane, and another house, then go back to what I’m doing. Easy. I wouldn’t even have to travel with the ****.”
Noel says that Liam’s jibes towards his wife Sara MacDonald on Twitter – which have seen the ‘Songbird’ songwriter call his sister-in-law a “witch” – have ruined the chances of there ever being a reunion.
He added: “That thing about my kids and my wife. No way. If I had 50 quid (pounds) left in my pocket I’d rather go busking. No way, I can’t do it.”
Noel says he’s laughing all the way to the bank, as every time Liam plays a solo gig, he earns royalties for the songs he performs which he wrote.
Suggesting the ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker is “angrier” as a result, Noel said: “He’s got his thing now – which is effectively my thing – and when he’s headlining Finsbury Park (London) I’m sitting here watching ‘Match of the Day’ getting a PRS (the Performing Right Society) cheque for him playing my songs. But instead of making him happy, it’s made him even worse, it’s made him even angrier.”

The 1975’s Matty Healy wants next LP to be band’s Nebraska

OHMYGOSSIP — Matty Healy wants The 1975’s next album to be their ‘Nebraska’.
The frontman has admitted that Bruce Springsteen’s iconic 1982 LP – which was made up of demos he’d recorded without the E Street Band – has been a big influence on the group’s upcoming ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’ release, which is the follow-up to ‘A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships’.
He told NME: “When I was making the last record that wasn’t trying to make a particular thing. Of course, at times, I wanted to make [My Bloody Valentine’s]’ ‘Loveless’ of course, or at times I wanted to make ‘OK Computer’ – there were all these types of things. [Coltrane’s] ‘Blue Train’.
“On this record you can hear that at times I want to make my ‘Nebraska’ [Bruce Springsteen’s sparsest album] or I want to make my ‘Immunity’ by Jon Hopkins. I’d like it to be a moment-in-time record like a ‘Nebraska.’ ”
The band’s fourth album is set to be released in May – just six months after its predecessor – but Matty insisted fans can expect very different content.
He explained: “No, what I’ve realised is it’s never going to be a continuation or an association with ‘A Brief Inquiry’. It’s a completely different record.
“Six months now is the same as what three years was before. Think about the amount of s**t that happens in six months’ time. It will be a different thing and a different time.”
Meanwhile, Matty has also teased a week-long residency paying homage to each era of The 1975.
The ‘Chocolate’ hitmaker took to Twitter to share his idea to perform music from the band’s albums – including their latest release – and their early EPs at a small venue in the UK, with the same production they had on each supporting tour for the records.
He tweeted: “I REALLY wanna rent out a venue for a week at end of campaign and do:
1st night : Ep’s
2nd: The 1975
3rd: ILIWYS
4th: ABIIOR
5th: NOACF
6th: GREATEST HITS LOLL
All with the same production and lighting of each era etc (sic)”

The Strokes announce 2019 comeback gig

OHMYGOSSIP — The Strokes have announced their first show for 2019.
The ‘Last Nite’ rockers – whose last live performance was in 2017 – will make a comeback on July 11 as they hit the stage at BBK festival in Bilbao.
The group confirmed the exciting news late on Monday night (17.12.18) as they shared a snap of a map with a pin in the Spanish city.
They wrote: “See you next year Bilbao! #BilbaoBBKLive”
Weezer, Thom Yorke, Idles and Suede are also set to headline the event next summer.
While the group – who formed in 1998 – haven’t released an album since ‘Comedown Machine’ five years ago, frontman Julian Casablancas toured the UK this year with his band The Voidz.
Strokes bandmate Albert Hammond Jr. previously said they had no plans to “split up”, despite his own solo career doing so well.
He insisted: “Definitely not, in fact, the bigger were I to get, the more likely they would be to both exist.
“I know The Strokes will be a band, whatever. I don’t think we’d ever say we’ve split up because we’ve been together too long to do that.”
Last year, Albert’s father claimed that the group had been back in the studio recording their sixth studio LP with producer Rick Rubin.
The band denied it at the time, and frontman Julian later took the opportunity to shoot down rumours and admitted he was “focused” on his other project The Voidz.
However, he did tease that new music would come out in the future.
He said at the time: “I’m really focused on The Voidz right now. Some new stuff will come out soon. With The Strokes, I don’t know – there’s no news right now.”

Victoria Beckham’s label posts loss

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham’s eponymous fashion label suffered losses of £10.2 million in 2017.
The 44-year-old singer-turned-fashion designer – who launched her brand in 2008 – saw losses increase from £8.2 million, even though the luxury fashion line enjoyed higher sales in 2017 across its accessories, clothing and eyewear range raising the revenue to £42.5 million from £36.4 million.
The losses come despite her husband David Beckham giving Victoria Beckham Ltd a £8.5 million cash injection in 2016. As well as the filed losses as of the end of December 2016 the brand still owes David’s DB Ventures that money.
Documents filed by her brand insist that shareholders are “committed to reducing the loss and expect to break even in the medium term” and attributed the losses to the fact that Victoria Beckham Ltd has been “investing for future growth and building its senior leadership team”.
The expansion has been achieved with £30 million cash invested in the company last year by NEO Investment Partners, which now has a minority holding in VBL.
NEO was responsible for redesigning the fashion label’s website, sales distribution and stores.
Despite the company figures. the Spice Girl celebrated the brand’s 10th anniversary with her first show at London Fashion Week in September, and the star also experienced success with her capsule beauty collection with ‘Estee Lauder’ and her limited edition US collection with retailer, ‘Target’.
VBL also went through a major shake-up internally last year as the brand appointed fashion industry veteran, Ralph Toledo, 67 – who previously served as the chief executive of Chloe – as chairman of the company alongside former Diane von Furstenberg Chief Executive Paolo Riva who was made CEO of the self-titled label in September.
At the time, Riva said: “We will continue to invest in growth markets such as the US and Asia whilst also ensuring we have the right strategy to ensure profitability over the medium term.
“I look forward to working with Victoria and team to steer the brand to the next phase.”
The label trades from its iconic flagship store in Mayfair, London, their website and in Hong Kong via their 400 stockists in over 50 countries.

Celebrity hairstylist Oribe Canales has died

OHMYGOSSIP — Celebrity hairstylist Oribe Canales has died.
The legendary stylist has passed away at the age of 62 after suffering liver and kidney failure in hospital following cancer treatment last month.
The Cuban-born beauty expert was considered to be one of the most influential hairdressers in the industry, and he came to prominence in the 80s and 90s due to his work with the first wave of supermodels including Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell, who were part of ‘The Magnificent Seven’ of the catwalk.
He then went on to work regularly with Jennifer Lopez, creating many of her most memorable styles over the course of two decade.
J.Lo took to Instagram to share a lengthy heartfelt post describing how she and the stylist started working together and thanking him for helping her become the actress and singer she is now.
Next to a photo of the pair, she wrote: “When I was 16 I was fascinated with Vogue magazine I would ride on the train and look at all the images of the supermodels and I was obsessed with the hair!! When I saw an image I loved I would check who did it and it was always someone named Oribe… Wow… he’s amazing I would think!! Cut to years later I was making my first album. I started working with Benny Medina and he said to me we have to do an album cover shoot who do you want for hair and makeup… honestly I was so new to the industry I knew no one and remembered my time flipping thru those magazines on the 6 and said ummm Oribe and Kevin Aucoin… Benny laughed and said oh OK! The next 10 years I would spend with Oribe by my side in every waking and working moment.
“We fell in love with each other. We traveled the world together. And along with Scott Barnes they helped me blossom into JLO.
“It was a magical and exhausting time…And when I was tired he would say to me… ‘You are gonna get up and go out there and be beautiful and fabulous bc that your job!!’
“We’d laugh bc that sounded crazy and then we would get to the business of doing our “job” !! He made me love the glam part of things.
“Bc he loved it so much and saw it as a powerful tool to empower women. He loved beauty and wanted women to feel beautiful and sexy. He loved the messiness and the imperfection and saw how interesting that was. He was a true artist.
“He made me feel special and beautiful for so long. I could go on and on but I will just say with a heavy heart… Thank you sweet, beautiful man… I will miss you. I love you Oribe… so much… (sic)”
Many other stars he worked with also used their social media accounts to remember Oribe.
Miley Cyrus posted on Instagram: “What they say is true … my heart is in a thousand tiny pieces today … can’t catch my breath … oh how I will miss my sweet friend @oribecanales Knowing I can’t call you right now to laugh , to talk hair , to talk life ,to talk s**t, makes me shake in disbelief. I’d do anything to tell you one more time how beautiful you make me feel … I love you Oribe. & I Always will. (sic)”

She said: “So very sad to hear that Oribe has left us. Working with him was such a great privilege. My heart goes out to his family and friends. (sic)”

John Legend won’t rule out Oscars hosting gig

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend hasn’t ruled out hosting the Oscars.
The ‘All Of Me’ hitmaker thinks the role as host of the awards ceremony – which will take place in the United States in February 2019 – is a “thankless job” but he hasn’t completely ruled out taking on the hosting duties if he was offered it.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “I feel like it’s a thankless job. Nobody really wins from hosting the Oscars. It doesn’t really end up great for anybody. I’m not saying we’re ruling it out.”
Kevin Hart was supposed to host the Academy Awards in 2019 but stepped down following the emergence of past homophobic tweets, and he has said sorry to the LGBTQ community for his previous “insensitive words”.
He tweeted: “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.
“I’m sorry that I hurt people.. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again. (sic)”
Kevin addressed his previous offensive tweets – some of which used the word “gay” as an insult, and all of which have now been deleted – by sharing a video, and insisted he only tries to “spread positivity” nowadays.
Speaking on the Instagram video, he said: “I swear man our world is becoming beyond crazy. I’m not going to let the craziness frustrate me or anger me especially when I worked hard to get to the mental space that I am at now.
“My team calls me, ‘Oh my God, Kevin, the world is upset about tweets you did years ago.’ Oh my God. Guys, I’m almost 40 years old. If you don’t believe that people grow, change, evolve as they get older, I don’t know what to tell you.
“If you want to hold people in a position where they always have to justify or explain their past – then do you. I’m the wrong guy, man. I’m in a great place, a great mature place where all I do is spread positivity. If you’re not doing that, you’re not on my page.”

Samuel L. Jackson celebrates 70th with birthday bash

OHMYGOSSIP — Samuel L. Jackson celebrated his 70th birthday with a star-studded party.
The ‘Snakes on a Plane’ actor marked the upcoming milestone with the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, George Lucas, Spike Lee and Anne Hathaway, whilst Stevie Wonder provided the entertainment, singing for the actor and his pals.
The party took place at Cipriani 42nd Street over the weekend and it was casino-themed bash, the New York Post’s Page Six column reports.
Meanwhile, Samuel – who turns 70 on December 21 – previously insisted he lives his life just like a normal person and doesn’t bother having assistants or any sort of entourage and he’s happy to go out and mingle with the public anywhere in the world.
He said: “Yeah, I walk the streets here. I walk the streets of London by myself. I do my own grocery shopping, I don’t have bodyguards, I make strange turns off of certain streets to just find s**t to look at or see if I can discover something or find something that I wanted to buy that’s odd or unusual. And nobody’s out there trying to kill me. Nobody has run up on me with a knife or gun.”
And whilst he says he doesn’t get much hassle from fans when he’s out and about in London or Los Angeles, he does often unexpectedly meet other actors, and his favourite impromptu meeting was with late Hollywood icon Gregory Peck – who died in 2003 aged 87.
He said: “I was walking by a door one day (at a studio) and somebody said ‘Samuel?’ When I walked in the room it was Gregory Peck. I was like, ‘You know who I am?’ He’s like, ‘Of course I do.'”

Chrissy Teigen’s frustrations at daughter’s food fussiness

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Teigen is getting frustrated by her daughter’s fussiness with food.
The ‘Sports Illustrated’ model has gone to extreme lengths to ensure her two-year-old daughter Luna Simone eats well and has even created a whole laminated menu for her, complete with pictures of the food.
She wrote in a series of tweets: “I always came from the mindset of “eat what we serve or go to bed hungry” but I’m officially owned by my toddler, struggling to make a *dinner* luna likes aside from spaghetti and fish sticks…. any ideas welcome!! … I’m spending my days making a menu, cooking and plating every meal and taking pics so my DARLING ANGEL will eat something WHO HAVE I BECOME…I just love projects … a binder of laminated photos with TODDLER FOOD on Peppa Pig plates. A MENU FOR MY DAUGHTER. I actually didn’t realise how insane this was til I started typing it (sic)”
Chrissy – who also has Miles Theodore, seven months, with her husband John Legend – previously expressed her frustration that her daughter won’t eat the food she cooks and admits it “breaks her heart” because she has no problem eating her grandmother’s cooking.
She said: “If I try to steam green beans or puree them, she will not eat that. She loves my mom’s scalloped potatoes, she loves real food, but she will not eat my own food, which kind of breaks my heart. I take it personally! … If John feeds her, she’ll be like ‘Dada! Dada!’ and she’ll eat anything! Moms, you know there is just no getting around it. They just love their daddy.”
