Pete Davidson defends Kanye West

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Davidson has praised Kanye West for “standing up” for people with mental health struggles, after he sparked a Twitter feud with Pete’s former fiancée Ariana Grande.
The 41-year-old rapper hit out at Ariana this week as he accused her of exploiting his “mental health” in order to “promote a song”, when she referenced his feud with Drake and told people to listen to her new track instead of focusing on the rappers’ spat.
And now, ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Pete – who was engaged to Ariana, 25, until they split in October – has hailed Kanye’s “bravery in speaking about mental health”, as he hinted he was left “disgusted” by Ariana’s tweet.
Pete wrote on Instagram: “Bravo Kanye West for standing up for yourself and speaking out against mental health. I can’t explain to you enough how difficult and scary it is to be honest about stuff like this. We need people like Kanye. No one should ever point fingers at you for your bravery in speaking about mental health. I’m seriously disgusted.”
In Ariana’s original tweet, she urged Kanye and Drake to “behave” after they were involved in a social media feud earlier this week.
She wrote: “guys, i know there are grown men arguing online rn but miley and i dropping our beautiful, new songs tonight so if y’all could please jus behave for just like a few hours so the girls can shine that’d be so sick thank u (sic)”
And Kanye later fired back: “I know Ariana said this to be cool and didn’t mean no harm but I don’t like even slightest level of slight commentary from someone I know loves and respects me
“All of this foolishness weighed on my mental health so @ArianaGrande you know I got love for you but until you’re ready to really make sure everyone’s ok don’t use me or this moment to promote a song (sic)”
But the ‘Thank U, Next’ singer seems to have seen the error of her ways, as she apologised for making an “insensitive” joke.
She tweeted: “with all due respect, i don’t need to use anyone to promote anything. period. i was making a comment ab what men were doing at the time vs. women. it was a joke which i understand now was probably insensitive. i apologize if i was in any way triggering and hope u feel well today. (sic)”

Stacey Dooley wins Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Dooley has been crowned the winner of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 31-year-old television presenter and her professional partner Kevin Clifton were awarded the prestigious glitterball trophy during Saturday’s (15.12.18) live final of the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition, as they beat out the remaining three couples in the public vote.
Stacey and Kevin faced fierce competition from Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts and her partner Pasha Kovalev, Steps singer Faye Tozer and her partner Giovanni Pernice, and YouTube star Joe Sugg and his partner Diane Buswell, but the ‘Stacey Dooley in the USA’ star ultimately walked away as the champion.
Praising Kevin for his work in teaching her to dance, Stacey said: “Kev, listen. You know how highly I think of you. I think you’re the biggest gem. It’s absolutely no kind of coincidence that he’s been in the final as many times as he has. You’re patient, talented, your choreography is second to none. I’ve had the most incredible time.
“And you know what, it’s daunting doing something you haven’t done before. You feel silly, you feel like a bit of an idiot. But Kevin walks you through. And you so deserve this.”
Kevin, 36, has made it to the final of the show five times out of the six series he’s been a part of, but his win with Stacey marks the first time he has ever held the glitterball trophy.
Speaking about the achievement, he told Stacey: “Thank you so much. Not just for being so amazing and dancing so well and getting this, but just for being the most wonderful person to work with, to spend every day in training with. You’ve worked so hard, and always with a massive smile on your face. You’re just so lovely, and I think the absolute world of you, thank you so much.”
Despite being crowned the winners, Stacey and Kevin didn’t receive the highest scores from the judging panel – Craig Revel Horwood, Dame Darcey Bussell, Shirley Ballas, and Bruno Tonioli – as their three dances received scores of 39, 36, and 39, whilst both Ashley and Faye received perfect 40s for all three of their routines.

Emma Stone hasn’t seen Easy A

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Stone has never seen ‘Easy A’.
The 30-year-old actress starred as Olive Penderghast in the 2010 comedy film, and although the part was one of her biggest breakout roles, she admits she’s never seen the entire movie, because she doesn’t like to watch herself “for that long”.
She said: “I haven’t seen it. No, I’ve seen some scenes. But I went to a friends and family screening to see it, and I had to get up and walk out. Who wants to watch themselves for that long?”
And Emma says she won’t watch the movie because she “put so much pressure” on herself during the filming, and she doesn’t want to relive that stressful time in her life.
Speaking during one of Variety magazine’s Actors on Actors discussions, the ‘Favourite’ star said: “I was 20 and I put so much pressure on myself. While we were shooting it, I was just going nuts and was like, ‘I don’t know, this whole thing could fall apart, I have no idea.’ Because I had to be there all day, every day. And if I wasn’t on screen, I was narrating, and it was just too much me.
“It was kind of like, I just felt like it had to be well-calibrated throughout, and it was the first time that I had ever had to rely on myself mostly to be able to carry all that. I think I just put so much pressure on myself.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Maniac’ actress recently said she doesn’t believe there’s any such thing as “normal”.
She said: “I would hope in general, in the world, we understand that there is no ‘normal’.
“People go through all sorts of things and if you need a pill to help balance the way your chemistry works, fine. If you need to go to therapy, fine. But it’s about human connection at the end of the day.”

Olivia Munn: Please help animal shelters this Christmas

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Munn has encouraged her fans to donate to their local animal shelter over the festive season.
The 38-year-old actress is known for her love of animals, especially her pet pooches Frankie and Chance, and has said that animal shelters are “more in need” over the Christmas period, so any spare change her fans have would be much appreciated at their local shelter.
Olivia teamed up with dog walking app Wag! – for whom she is an ambassador – to deliver much needed supplies to shelter dogs in need as part of their Wag! for Good program, and posted about the charitable deed on Twitter.
She wrote: “Stopped by @ktlaENT today to talk @WagWalking shelter donations for the holidays. If you have extra dog toys/beds/leashes or even old linens and towels, please donate them to your local animal shelter. During the holidays shelters are more in need so any help matters! #wagforgood (sic)”
The ‘X-Men Apocalypse’ star has previously spoken about her love for animals, and also urged people to adopt pets from shelters rather than buying them.
Speaking in April this year, she said: “I think it’s so important to adopt pets instead of buying them from a pet store or from breeders, because there are so many dogs and cats and animals that are waiting for their forever home. They’re just sitting there waiting, and they’re needing someone to come and love them and bring them into their home.”
Meanwhile, Olivia was left feeling “defensive” earlier this year when her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Chance was accused of peeing on someone, when he was in fact just lifting up his leg as a sign that he was enjoying being scratched.
She said: “Chance loves his leg scratched, so he does this thing where he lifts his leg, and it looks like he’s peeing on you. They have this shot of Chance and he’s lifting his leg. It looks like he’s about to pee on the greeter.
“I felt that was the only time I can think of, besides having to say ‘I’m not dating my friend’s ex,’ is when I had to say to the world, ‘My dog wasn’t trying to pee on someone … No, no, he was just asking for a scratch.’ I felt so defensive.”

Timothee Chalamet had to stop losing weight during Beautiful Boy

OHMYGOSSIP — Timothee Chalamet had to be told to stop losing weight for his role in ‘Beautiful Boy’.
The 22-year-old actor plays drug addict Nic Sheff in the biopic and shed 20lbs for scenes when his alter ego hit his lowest point but movie bosses were worried he was “pushing” himself further than he needed to.
Explaining the weight loss scenes were shot first to allow the actor to return to his regular size for the happier moments, director Felix Van Groenigen told Total Film: “It helped him physically feel it and hit some sort of rock bottom.
“I mean, he was very closely followed but at some point, we had a feeling he was pushing it further than we wanted, because he was so committed to it.
“We did have to say at some point, ‘Timmy, stop. It’s great. We don’t want you to go into a dangerous place.’ ”
Timothee stars opposite Steve Carrell as his on-screen father in the movie and they struck up a bond instantly.
Steve said: “We just naturally became friends. There weren’t any exercises that we needed to go through in order to generate that affection. I think we had it almost instantly.”
Timothee agreed: “Yeah, I feel the same way. I felt very… just taken in.
“I felt a strong warmth from Steve and from Felix, our director, and then the scenes with Amy Ryan and Maura Tierney as well.
“I felt a very paternal quality coming from them.”
While Steve had already been cast before his screen son, the ‘Call Me By Your Name’ actor wowed the director with his audition tape.
Felix said: “We did auditions and saw a lot of tapes coming in. And at some point we saw an audition of a young actor, not very well-known – Timothee Chalamet.
“You know, he blew us away with his bold and fearless energy and how he could switch between a person completely strung out on drugs and also be this very intriguing teenager trying to find a bond with his dad.
“So at some point, we put them in the room together to do a chemistry read and I just felt it – they connected.”

Trendsetter Kate Beckinsale

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Beckinsale thinks she and Michael Sheen are “trendsetters”.
The 45-year-old actress was in a relationship with the ‘Masters of Sex’ star for eight years until 2003 but even after they split, the former couple – who have daughter Lily, 19, together – remained close friends which the ‘Farming’ star thinks is much more common now than it was back then.
She told Britain’s Tatler magazine: “I think we are trendsetters, now it seems a lot of people go the extra mile, going on holiday with their exes.
“At first people thought we must still be in a relationship. But we’re family and we still find each other funny and have good banter. And we’ve got a child together.
“It may be that somebody you meet when you’re 21 might not be the person you should be with 20 years later. But it’s also significant to have known someone that long.
However, the Underworld actress suggested she isn’t in contact with her ex-husband Len Wiseman – who she divorced in 2016 after 12 years of marriage – any more.
Asked if they are still in touch, she simply said: “We don’t have a child together. It’s a whole different thing.”
Kate was recently romantically linked with British comedian Jack Whitehall but she insist she’s just enjoying being single at the moment.
She said: “When you get divorced, everybody waits to see where you land. But I might not land anywhere for a bit.
“I’m really quite happy: it’s quite nice to have a bit of Virginia Woolf time.”

Zoe Kravitz’s daily battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Kravitz admits every day is a “battle” in her eating disorder recovery.
The ‘Big Little Lies’ actress has “struggled” in the past with anorexia and bulimia and admitted that despite the support she had around her, she couldn’t get better until she was ready to and she takes her recovery one day at a time.
She said: “As someone who has struggled with bulimia and anorexia, all I can say is be gentle with yourself.
“The most important thing is you have to be the one who wants to get better.
“Even after being supported by family and friends, and going to therapy, it wasn’t until I got so tired of torturing my body and mind that I made a deal with myself to try and silence all the negative voices.
“I still have to remember that I’ve made this promise because recovery is an ongoing thing.
“That’s vital for everyone to hear because you could be fine for years and then have a relapse.
“People think, ‘If I’m not totally better, I’m weak’, but the truth is, it’s a battle. Think one day at a time, allow yourself to struggle and keep your goal of being healthy at the forefront of your mind.”
And the 30-year-old actress admitted she still finds herself plagued by “unhealthy” thoughts.
She told Britain’s Marie Claire magazine: “I have days when I realise, ‘OK, I’m focusing too much on what I’ve eaten or how I look’, and though thoughts are just unhealthy.
“What’s important is that I eat when I’m hungry, take care of myself and work out.”
Zoe is pleased that people are more open about speaking about mental health these days.
She said: “I love that it’s something we’re focusing more on, because for a long time mental health was something people thought a) wasn’t important and b) could be fixed with just medication.
“It’s essential to get to the root of what’s going on inside and not numb their feelings.
“Spending time with your family, going outside, and breathing fresh air – these little things can make a big difference.”

Pete Davidson makes SNL appearance after worrying Instagram post

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Davidson made a brief appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ (15.12.18), hours after he sparked concerns about his mental health with a worrying Instagram post.
The 25-year-old comedian – who suffers from bipolar disorder and has previously battled suicidal thoughts – was the subject of a welfare check by the New York Police Department (NYPD), earlier in the day after he wrote on social media that he “doesn’t want to be on this earth any more”.
However, he appeared on ‘SNL’ briefly on Saturday when he introduced Miley Cyrus, Mark Ronson, and Sean Ono Lennon to sing John Lennon’s ‘Happy Christmas (War Is Over)’.
Pete’s pre-taped sketch about potential new Oscars hosts also aired.
Earlier, Pete had sparked concerns among friends, fans and his former fiancée Ariana Grande when he made his worrying Instagram post just moments after he praised Kanye West for speaking out about his own mental health struggle after Ariana made a joke concerning Kanye’s online feud with Drake.
Pete wrote on Instagram: “I’m doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don’t know how much longer i can last. all i’ve ever tried to do was help people. just remember i told you so.”
The star only left the post up for a matter of minutes before he deleted his entire Instagram account.
Ariana later took to Twitter to share her own worries, and confirmed she has rushed to Pete’s side to support him.
She tweeted: “man i’m so sorry i told a dumb joke. i really didn’t mean any harm. all i want everyone to be healthy and happy. so desperately. please. my god.

Carey Mulligan’s ‘unlikeable’ character

OHMYGOSSIP — Carey Mulligan loves playing “unlikeable” characters.
The 33-year-old actress is causing a stir with her latest performance in ‘Wildlife’ in which she plays an unsympathetic 1960s wife and mother but Carey believes the negative aspects of her character make her more realistic.
Carey character Jeanette Brinson is a woman who struggles to cope when her husband Jerry (Jake Gyllenhaal) leaves to fight a forest fire and she takes comfort in another man.
She told The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Awards Chatter’ podcast: “I kind of lean into the unlikable things. Because we all have slightly crap aspects to our personality, as much as we try and pretend that we don’t, and that’s what makes us real human beings. So I didn’t really think about whether Jeanette was likable or not. I suppose that’s why it came as quite a shock when people started shouting at me in Q&As!”
‘Wildlife’ has been directed by fellow actor Paul Dano and Carey loved being directed by an actor because she believes Paul brought out something special in her performance.
She explained: “I’ve worked with lots of directors who are really intuitive and thoughtful about acting but I think Paul could see [things that others couldn’t]. What Paul was really good at was identifying when I was holding back a bit, because I will always kind of lean towards restraint and do less, and he was really good at finding those moments and encouraging me to do more.”

Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman tie the knot

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman have tied the knot.
The former ‘Revenge’ co-stars – who got engaged in 2017 – tied the knot on Saturday (15.12.18) in the Bahamas in front of friends and family, Us Weekly reports.
‘Revenge’ ended in 2015 but co-star Ashley Madekwe was among the guests, along with her husband Iddo Goldberg.
‘Captain America’ star Emily, 32, previously revealed Josh, 30, proposed to her when the pair were out on a hike and she was delighted with how he popped the question.
To announced the engagement, Emily posted a photograph of her in the woods covering her face with both hands while displaying a large sparkler on her left ring finger.
Later detailing the romantic proposal, she said: “We were in nature on a hike kind of doing what we do. It was very, sort of, us. It was great – beautiful. It’s amazing. I’m really happy!”
Emily and British hunk Josh started dating back in 2011 after they began working together on hit ABC show ‘Revenge’, which ended in 2015 after four seasons.
The couple have kept their romance mainly private but on occasions the blonde beauty hasn’t been able to resist gushing over her man.

Emily Atack reveals depression battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack has battled depression and had a psychiatrist on standby while she competed in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The ‘Inbetweeners’ actress finished runner-up to Harry Redknapp on the ITV show but admitted she suffered a panic attack just days before entering the jungle and has had mental health problems in the past.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Emily, 28, said: “There were a lot of down days in the jungle that weren’t aired. We all struggled at times. But we pulled each other through it, plus the show psychiatrist helped. ITV were so protective of us all.
“I saw the psychiatrist before and after the show, and they’re still checking in to make sure I’m OK.
“I’m naturally a very happy person but I’ve had times with depression, and have got through it with therapy. It’s a chemical imbalance in your brain that sometimes needs to be treated.
“I’ve never spoken about this publicly before but it goes with this whole honesty thing that I got from the jungle. I guess I just want to be honest now and say I’ve had depression spells.”
Emily revealed that therapy has been hugely beneficial to her mental health and she has learned not to feel guilty for feeling down.
Meanwhile, Emily has been flooded with acting offers following her ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ appearance.
The actress’ agency has reportedly been swamped with requests after she finished as runner-up on the ITV show and Emily is now in high-demand for roles, eight years after she played Charlotte Hinchcliffe on sitcom ‘The Inbetweeners’.
She is said to have been praised for her “natural and normal” grace.
Emily – who revealed that she struggled with self-confidence since she split from ex-boyfriend Jack Vacher in February – admitted her stint in the jungle tested her strength and taught her to love herself.
She said: “I will never doubt myself again. I can survive in the jungle so now I can do anything.
“It’s the most mental thing ever. I found new love and respect for myself.”

Toby Keith inspired by Clint Eastwood

OHMYGOSSIP — Toby Keith’s ‘Don’t Let the Old Man In’ was inspired by Clint Eastwood.
The singer/songwriter revealed he was inspired by a conversation with the 88-year-old actor/director about his latest movie ‘The Mule’ and his work ethic.
Toby explained he asked Clint how he kept working at his age, explaining: “He said, ‘I just get up every morning and go out. And I don’t let the old man in’. And I thought, I’m writing that.”
Admitted he became obsessed with the song, Toby said: “People were talking to me and they would say, ‘Did you hear what I just said?’ And I was like, ‘No,’ because I wasn’t listening to any conversations. I was consumed by ‘Don’t Let the Old Man In.’ I worked so hard on it. When I finally sang the line, I thought, it’s got to be dark, it’s got to be a ballad and it’s got to be simple.”
Toby was unwell the day he recorded the track but he believes his illness helped to make the song sound even better.
He explained to Billboard: “I was sick as a dog that day. I was coughing and sneezing and thinking, this is terrible. I gave it the best vocal I could that day, and I sent it off. It’s a real raspy, sleepy, tired, sick vocal. I said, ‘Well now you’ve got a reference, and I’ll go back and put a vocal on it for you.’ ”
However, Clint loved the song and the recording and immediately asked if he would include it in his movie.
Toby said: “He said, ‘I’ve got a spot in the movie and I’m putting it in there.’ And then Warner Bros. called asking did I read the script before I wrote this song because it fits perfectly. He wanted it sick and tired and dark like that.”

Rosamund Pike liberated by anger

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosamund Pike thinks anger is “liberating”.
The ‘A Private War’ actress – who has sons Solo, six, and Atom, four, with partner Robie Uniacke – believes people are taught the emotion is bad because they don’t know enough about it but she thinks it can be empowering.
She said: “I’ve never been frightened of anger. I think anger can be liberating. I encourage my children to say, ‘I am angry because… Before you attack verbally, you could feel empowered. People are taught that anger is bad. It’s not an emotion we’re very educated in.
“Sometimes we feel upset or disempowered or weak, and what we’re actually feeling is angry but we haven’t deciphered it.”
The 39-year-old star – who plays legendary war reporter Marie Colvin in ‘A Private War’ – thinks anger can be “very creative” and doesn’t understand the purpose of anger-management classes.
She added to Britain’s Marie Claire magazine: “Anger-management classes − are they about trying to suppress it or articulate it? I’ve no idea.
“One of Marie’s great lines in the film is when someone says, ‘I don’t know that you should go into Syria,’ and she says, ‘It is so anger-making it’s worth it.’ I wrote that out on the top of my script.
“Anger can be a terribly constructive feeling if harnessed in the right way. Indifference is the great destroyer, but anger can be very creative.”
Two years ago, the actress said she was happy in supporting roles, but these days she’s just as comfortable to be the lead.
She said: “I think that probably bespoke a certain fear, didn’t it? It suggested that if a film fails and you’re number one, then it’s on your head. That’s the pressure of being number one on the call sheet.
“I wasn’t number one on the call sheet [with ‘Gone Girl’], I was number two [to Ben Affleck].
“I’ve played two lead women in the past year and I’ve had great male actors support me. Now I’m like, ‘Yes, I’m ready for this.’ ”

Simon Cowell wants to set David Walliams up with Sinitta

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell is trying to set David Walliams up with his ex-girlfriend.
Simon has remained close friends with Sinitta – who he dated in the 1980s – and thinks she would be perfect for his friend and fellow ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge, David Walliams, 47.
Speaking to The Mail On Sunday’s Event magazine, David said: “Simon Cowell is always trying to get me to go out on a date with Sinitta!”
David split with former wife Lara Stone – with whom he has son Alfie – in 2015 and insisted he is happily single for now.
Meanwhile, David also admitted he is fascinated with Simon’s love of fame.
He said: “I am completely fascinated by him. I sit back and just watch the over-the-top way he does everything. He loves the whole stardom thing. I was at his house for a meeting the other day. You wait in an anteroom for him, and there are all these female assistants running around. Then he emerges in a white shirt, jeans and no socks. I give him an idea for a BGT Christmas special, he then calls in an assistant and tells them the idea as if it was his, even though I’m still standing there”
“Simon lives a different life and he loves it. He loves to turn up on the red carpet with his sunglasses and a huge crowd. I’ve stood there talking to him while he is having a vitamin drip put into one arm and he’s still smoking away. He’s constantly badgering me to write a book about him or have a character based on him.”
