Cheryl Tweedy’s dance credentials blasted as ‘questionable’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Greatest Dancer’ judge Cheryl Tweedy’s dance credentials have been blasted as “questionable”.
The 35-year-old popstar is on the judging panel for the new BBC show alongside ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Oti Mabuse and ‘Glee’ actor Matthew Morrison but ‘Dancing On Ice’ judge Jason Gardiner has hit out at Cheryl, claiming she is unqualified for the job.
Speaking to The Daily Mirror, he said: “The judging line up on that is questionable as well…what’s her dance background? Where is her dance background? She went to Royal Ballet School that you pay for, an extortionate amount to go to because mum and dad just want to drop you off somewhere for the holidays.”
However, Cheryl’s co-star Oti has been hugely impressed with Cheryl and has urged her to compete in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Oti said recently: “I would love to see her try. I think if she did ‘Strictly’, people would love her and see another side that they haven’t seen yet. She would be brilliant.”
Despite reports that the pair have not hit it off on set, Oti insisted she and Cheryl have become firm friends.
She said: “We’re generally getting to know each other and there’s something about her that I love.
“I feel like once she lets you in she kind of takes care of you like a sister.”
Meanwhile, Cheryl has slammed reports she and Oti have not been getting along.
A representative for the star said: “It’s a fabricated story – yet again trying to pit female against female on a TV show. It’s a shame we haven’t moved past this.”
“Cheryl absolutely loves working with Oti and has a brilliant relationship with her.”
Oti added: “I love Cheryl and had a great time filming ‘The Greatest Dancer’ with her and I can’t wait to see her again soon.”

Fay Ripley’s cancer fears

OHMYGOSSIP — Fay Ripley is “completely terrified” of getting cancer.
The 52-year-old actress’ ‘Cold Feet’ character Jenny is set to be diagnosed with breast cancer in the upcoming series and Fay admitted it is something she worries about in real life, as she has seen a number of friends deal with cancer over the years.
She told The Daily Mirror: “I’m completely terrified. One-in-three is not great odds, actually, and I am constantly thinking ‘who’s next?’ I catastrophise, I’m not saying it’s right to live like that but I definitely catastrophise.”
While a number of Fay’s loved ones have been diagnosed with cancer, she admitted she was worried about talking to them about her upcoming storyline.
She explained: “You’ve got to be a bit careful. As an actress playing someone with a lump, it’s not the same.
“When you’re talking face to face with someone and they’ve got it, it’s their life.
“It was really much more about me saying ‘listen, I’m going to be doing this and I hope you’re OK with it?’
“I didn’t want them to think I was there taking notes, if you know what I mean. But I could observe my amazing, brave, beautiful, funny, brilliant friends and family who have it and go, that’s what I want to portray.
“It’s a fine line between the moments when you are sh*t scared and the moments where, you don’t forget about it, but you do carry on with your life. And you put the bins out. So it was about getting that balance right.”
The show will return in 2019 and Fay’s co-star John Thomson recently revealed he is optimistic about the eighth series of the show, which will be the third season since it returned to the small screen in 2016.
He said: “Series six was fantastic. Seven was a bit like ‘that difficult second album’, a bit of a slow-burn.
“But this one is fantastic, very strong. I can’t say much, but two really major things happen.”

Ezra Miller in awe of Fantastic Beasts script

OHMYGOSSIP — Ezra Miller was “practically tearing out” his hair when he got the script for ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’.
The 26-year-old actor – who reprises his role as Credence Barebone in the second instalment of the wizarding spin-off saga – is a huge ‘Harry Potter’ fan and was stunned with the way writer J.K. Rowling had added extra detail and context to some of his favourite characters from the original series.
He told SciFiNow magazine: “If you are someone who read a ‘Harry Potter’ book, even once, you’re gonna freak out.
“It is mind-blowing and the way Jo can add notes to a broader story and flip the context of other events or characters that we know, love and remember is just incredible.
“When I read this one, I was practically tearing out my hair.”
Ezra recently admitted he can’t believe his luck that he gets to be part of the movie franchise.
He said: “What’s really great and what I find really wonderful is the way that this environment facilitates expression, it’s really special. It’s a very particular feeling on this set. It’s immense. It’s also more quieter than a lot of smaller sets I’ve ever been on. There’s a real sense of collaboration in the process of finding each scene.
“We take time to rehearse, which is a rare gift when you’re on a studio schedule making an enormous movie. We have a lot of really considered conversations in which everyone’s voice is heard who’s participating in the scene. We work really intimately with these various devoted departments, like the puppeteers and the visual effects department, the props department, you know, various people who are enabling us to fall deeper and deeper into a world of imagination, and so that is a delight.
“I haven’t had any specific requests for things to happen in the story. I’m very, very, very pleased with all of the material.
“I find a lot of depth and meaning in it. I still do. I still relate and connect to it as directly as I did when I was first interacting with the material as a young person.”

Travis Knight has plans for Bumblebee sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Knight already has ideas for a ‘Bumblebee’ sequel.
The 45-year-old actor helmed the ‘Transformers’ franchise movie which hit cinema screens earlier this month, and has said that he’s already thinking about “what’s next” for the main characters, and has plenty of ideas that could make a sequel “if the world wants more”.
Speaking to Cinema Blend, he said: “When I get to the end of one of my movies, I always imagine what’s next for the characters. And so, in my mind, I’ve got all these scenarios and adventures that play out, both with Charlie and with Bee and everyone else. We’ll see if the world wants more. Maybe we’ll explore some of those things.”
‘Bumblebee’ is the sixth instalment of the live-action ‘Transformers’ movies, and is set as a prequel to 2007’s original ‘Transformers’, so any sequel to the new movie would have to fit in between those timelines.
Whilst Travis hasn’t revealed what his ideas for a sequel might be, they likely won’t involve focusing on a different Autobot, as ‘Bumblebee’ producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently claimed making a movie focused solely on the Autobot leader Optimus Prime would be “hard”.
He said: “It will be hard with Optimus, he is always right, very stoic and is a man of few words … It is kind of like saying, ‘Lets do a movie about Obi-Wan Kenobi?’ But how much is there to say about Obi-Wan? It is not so easy”.
If a ‘Bumblebee’ sequel does happen, it could also see main human characters including Charlie Watson (played by Hailee Steinfeld) and Jack Burns (John Cena) return to screens.

Michael Buble had fun making record

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Buble had a “really, really wonderful” time making his new album.
The 43-year-old singer – who has children Noah, five, Elias, two, and Vida, five months, with wife Luisana Lopilato – recorded ‘Love’ at home with some of his closest friends and thinks the positive atmosphere surrounding the creation of the tracks is reflected in the finished record.
He said: “It was a really organic and fun thing, where me and my musicians – and they’re my family, they’re some of my best friends – got together at my house.
“It was really, really wonderful and beautiful. We just loved every single moment.
“And I think when people hear it, they’re going to understand all the love that’s inside it…
“Making a record should be fun. I get that sometimes it’s a struggle and there has to be drama, but there’s enough drama in the world, there’s enough negative stuff.
“We just wanted to put beauty and baby-making music out there.”
And Michael still feels “emotional” about the fact David Foster came out of retirement to produce the record.
He said in a recent interview: “It’s funny, I get emotional about it. I wrote to him yesterday and I just told him how much he means to me and how proud I am.
“And I tell him all the time that it doesn’t matter what the record sells, what matters is that he helped me to make the record of my dreams.
“There is no one in the universe like David Foster.”

Mariah Carey sets new streaming record

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey set a new one-day streaming record with her classic Christmas hit ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’.
The 48-year-old singer broke a new record on Christmas Eve (24.12.18) this year, when her hugely popular festive hit – which was recorded in 1994 – became the most streamed song in a single day on Spotify.
According to chart data reported by Billboard magazine, the hit song was streamed a whopping 10.8 million times on Spotify throughout Christmas Eve, as people got themselves in the festive spirit ready for Christmas Day.
The track dethroned the previous record held by late rapper XXXTentacion, who logged 10.4 million streams with ‘SAD!’, a day after his death in June.
Mariah even took to Twitter to share her surprise at the news, as she didn’t expect to break the impressive record.
Quoting a news report on the feat, she wrote: “Wait… What?! (sic)”, accompanied by three shocked emojis.
But the singer – who has seven-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-husband Nick Cannon – may have contributed to the streams of her single herself, as she recently admitted that she listens to Christmas music “24 hours a day” over the festive season.
She said: “Once I start listening to Christmas music, that’s it.
“Everybody who is with me in Aspen, they have to listen to Christmas music 24 hours a day.
“Christmas is very important to me. I try to make it fun for everybody – I literally have Santa Claus out there and real reindeer. I’m not making this up!”

Rochelle and Marvin Humes take New Year holidays

OHMYGOSSIP — Rochelle and Marvin Humes will celebrate New Year’s Eve in the sun.
The couple – who have daughters Alaia-Mai, five, and Valentina, 21 months, together – like to jet off on holiday after Christmas and don’t mind where they go, so long as it’s hot.
Rochelle said: “We like to go away over New Year, so we’re going to go somewhere nice and hot. We haven’t decided where yet but definitely somewhere with a beach and some sun. That’s what we’re hoping for.”
The ‘This Morning’ host loves the Christmas period because she gets chance to relax.
Asked what she plans to be doing over the break, she said in a recent interview: “Just to be at home. We live such fast-paced lives that I feel excited to have all my family at home and to relax. And yeah, just to be together.”
Rochelle and Marvin tied the knot in 2012 at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire and the former JLS singer recently revealed they are planning to renew their vows somewhere overseas with their children and “new friends and family” present.
He said: “Yeah, we can’t wait. We want to do it all again – the stag, the hen party, the wedding. It’ll be nice for the children to see us get married, but also we have new friends and family members to share the moment with. We had 500 guests at our wedding so it’ll be on a smaller scale and probably abroad. I’ll leave all the party planning to Roch!”
It’s not yet known when the pair are planning to renew their vows but Rochelle recently said they were aiming for 2022 as that would mark a decade of marriage.
She said recently: “Marvin and I always said that we could do that at 10 years – we’ll definitely do it! He can ask me again. We have been married six and a bit years now. I think it’s a lovely idea. Maybe we would go away or something. I love a big holiday. Somewhere close enough so that everyone would come.”

Sir Mick Jagger working on ballet

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Mick Jagger is working on a ballet with his girlfriend.
The Rolling Stones frontman is curating the music for a dance production written by Melanie Hamrick – who has just completed work on the American Ballet Theatre’s ‘The Nutcracker’ – and the soundtrack for the show will be all his own songs.
A source told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “Melanie’s taking a leave of absence from American Ballet Theatre until the spring season.
“The glamorous ballerina is focusing on choreographing her first ballet — an original piece set to Rolling Stones music, edited by Mick Jagger, with selections from ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want,’ ‘Paint It Black’ and ‘She’s a Rainbow.’ ”
The ballet will premiere at the Mariinsky Theatre’s ballet festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, in March, and the following month, the couple – who have two-year-old son Deveraux together – will transfer the project to New York at a gala for the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) at Lincoln Center.
The YAGP is the world’s biggest student ballet scholarship audition, and is particularly noted for its ‘Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow’ gala event in New York.
The gala takes place on April 18, two days before the Rolling Stones embark on the US leg of their ‘No Filter’ tour, which kicks off at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida.
Melanie, 31, recently praised Mick – who has seven other children from previous relationships – as the “most wonderful man in the world”.
She gushed: “He’s the most incredible, wonderful, loving father. And, to me, he’s the most wonderful man in the world.”
The ballerina also revealed her son loves to dance, but insisted he gets his skills from his famous father, rather than her.
She said: “He dances and dances and dances. He has his dad’s moves. Mine are really regimented. I’m not the best social dancer.”

Rob Delaney remembered son

OHMYGOSSIP — Rob Delaney spent Christmas Day remembering his young son Henry.
The ‘Catastrophe’ star and his wife Leah were struck by tragedy earlier this year when the toddler lost his battle brain cancer aged just two years old, and though the holiday was “okay”, the 41-year-old actor admitted the period leading up to December 25 had been “horrible”.
He tweeted: “Our first Christmas without Henry came & went.
“The day itself was okay, maybe because there were so many horrible, painful days leading up to it; we must have hit our quota or something. We talked about him a lot & included his memory throughout the day.(sic)”
Rob, who also has two sons aged five and six and is expecting another child with Leah, hopes speaking openly about his grief offers some comfort and support to other family members in a similar situation.
He added: “I speak publicly about Henry in an effort to destigmatise grief. My family is sad & in pain because our beautiful 2 year old boy died after a long illness.
“Why wouldn’t we be sad? Why wouldn’t we be angry and confused?
“Tweets like this aren’t therapeutic to me, nor are they ‘updates’.
“I just want other bereaved parents & siblings to feel seen/heard/respected/loved.
“And maybe they might help someone not schooled in grief support a friend better. I don’t know.(sic)”
The ‘Deadpool 2’ actor previously spoke of Henry’s gruelling medical ordeal after revealing he had passed away.
He posted in February: “I have very sad news. My two and a half year old son Henry has passed away. Henry had been diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016, shortly after his first birthday, following persistent vomiting and weight loss. He had surgery to remove the tumor and further treatment through the early part of 2017. Then the cancer returned last autumn and he died in January.
“My wife and Henry’s older brothers and I are devastated of course. Henry was a joy. He was smart, funny, and mischievous and we had so many wonderful adventures together, particularly after he’d moved home following fifteen months living in hospitals. His tumor and surgery left him with significant physical disabilities, but he quickly learned sign language and developed his own method of getting from A to B shuffling on his beautiful little bum. His drive to live and to love and to connect was profound.
“I am astonished by the love-in-action displayed by Henry’s mom and his brothers. They are why I will endeavor to not go mad with grief. I don’t want to miss out on their beautiful lives. I’m greedy for more experiences with them.”

Billie Lourd’s emotional tribute to Carrie Fisher

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Lourd has paid tribute to her late mother Carrie Fisher with an emotional song.
The 26-year-old actress tragically lost her mother Carrie two years ago when she suffered a cardiac arrest on a plane on December 23 2016 and passed away in hospital four days later on December 27.
And to honour the ‘Star Wars’ star’s two year anniversary, Billie has taken to Instagram to post a touching video, in which she performs an emotional song on the piano.
The ‘Scream Queens’ star captioned the clip: “It has been two years since my Momby’s death and I still don’t know what the “right” thing to do on a death anniversary is (I’m sure a lot of you feel the same way about your loved ones).
“So I decided to do something a little vulnerable for me, but something we both loved to do together – sing. This is the piano her father gave her and this was one of her favorite songs. (sic)”
Billie – who also lost her grandmother Debbie Reynolds one day after Carrie died – added her career as an actress helps her stay “happy” in the wake of her mother’s passing, and hopes the song can “encourage” others who have lost someone to “keep on moving”.
She continued: “And as the song says, we must “keep on moving”. I’ve found that what keeps me moving is doing things that make me happy, working hard on the things that I’m passionate about and surrounding myself with people I love and making them smile.
“I hope this encourages anyone feeling a little low or lost to “keep on moving”. As my Momby once said, “take your broken heart and turn it into art” – whatever that art may be for you. (sic)”

Richard Hawley praises hero Johnny Connor

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Hawley says his ‘Coronation Street’ character Johnny Connor is a “hero” for taking the blame for Liz McDonald’s hit and run.
Johnny’s scorned wife Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews), who recently found out about the pair’s affair, mows Liz down while drink-driving but Johnny confesses in order to protect Jenny.
Richard told Digital Spy: “Because he’s a hero, I think! He’s got to – that’s how he feels, because Jenny doesn’t stand a chance since there’s a lot of drink issues with her. I just think Johnny is honourable, actually. I’m trying a little bit to think if I’d do the same and I would. He’s protective of Jenny.
“It’s a no-brainer for Johnny to step up and take the blame. The consequences for Jenny, because she was drink-driving, would be worse. I know it’s perverting the course of justice, but for him, it’s about love and protection of the people closest to him. Jenny didn’t do it deliberately.
“Taking the blame is a split second decision. It’s not thought through. But I can’t imagine him letting Jenny take the rap in the condition she’s in. He’s being honourable.”
Richard also admitted Johnny’s decision could put the Rovers Return pub at risk.
He said: “It absolutely puts the pub at risk. There’s a lot going on here, so Johnny and Jenny could both be taken out of the frame. Johnny has got some good strong women who could run that pub though. No, the Connors will pull a pint for me.”

Sam Faiers donated to charity for kids Christmas presents

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Faiers donated money to charity as part of her children’s Christmas present.
The 27-year-old reality star – who has Paul Jr., three, and 10-month-old Rosie with her partner Paul Knightley – is keen for her brood to appreciate how fortunate they are, and so has decided to take the money she would usually spend on lavish holiday gifts and give it to charity instead.
Speaking to Closer magazine, she said: “This year, the money I would have spent on Rosie and Paul I’m actually going to donate to charity.
“My kids are so fortunate – they get everything they want and brands are always gifting them things.
“You have to make sure they don’t expect that all the time. I’m not about giving them hundreds of presents – I want them to grow up appreciating what they have.”
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star recently revealed that she’s planning on expanding her brood and wants two more children in the next few years.
She said: “I definitely want more children. I’m going to wait until Paul’s in school and then plan to have more.
“Maybe two more, but I’ll have them really close in age so I can do the whole nappy and sleep thing all together. I don’t want to spread it out.”
Meanwhile, although Sam and Paul have been together since 2014, they still don’t feel “ready” to get married.
Laughing off speculation Paul will propose at her sister Billie’s wedding to Greg Shepherd next year, she said: “He would never do it in front of an audience.
“He’ll do it when I least expect it. We want to get married, but we’re not ready yet.”

Drake gifted finger painting from son

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake’s son gifted him a finger painting for Christmas.
The 32-year-old rapper took to Instagram on Wednesday (26.12.18) to reveal that his son Adonis – whom he welcomed in 2017 with Sophie Brussaux – had made him a painting for his Christmas present, as the ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’ hitmaker hinted that his tot was destined for artistic greatness.
Posting a picture of the finger painting – which had been placed inside a frame – on social media, Drake wrote: “Adonis > Picasso don’t @ me (sic)”
The rapper accompanied the message with a blue heart emoji, and a Christmas tree emoji.
Drake’s adorable Christmas gift comes after he opened up on his life as a new father on LeBron James’ HBO show ‘The Shop’ in October, where he spoke about being “scared” to tell his mother about the situation, because he was never in a relationship with Sophie.
He said: “[I was] more scared to tell my mom because my mom has had real belief and real relationships with women in my life, like, over the course of my years. I’m sure she would expect or be elated if I were to have gotten one of those women pregnant … So it was tough for me to tell her that it’s somebody that she’s never met.”
But the ‘God’s Plan’ singer is “excited to be a great father”, and although he wants his son to understand what happened between himself and Sophie, he doesn’t want anyone to “be angry” at her.
He added: “I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who… you know, we’ve had our moments, right? And I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to, like, not love his mother … I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother. We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible, and now I’m just really excited to be a great father. I have a son, he’s a beautiful boy.”

Kate Beckinsale will return to studies

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Beckinsale wants to go back to university one day.
The ‘Underworld’ actress – who has 19-year-old daughter Lily with former partner Michael Sheen – spent the third year of her Oxford University degree studying in Paris and quit before her final year as the idea of returning seemed “bleak”, but she’s not ruled out completing her degree in the future.
She said: “The thought of going back felt so bleak.”
Asked if she regrets not completing her studies, she told Britain’s Tatler magazine: “Maybe that’s a later in life thing. I’ll be that old lady doing my degree.”
The 45-year-old star has lived in Los Angeles for 15 years, but she still plans to return home to London one day in the future.
She vowed: “As soon as I stop getting work here, I’ll just slope home.”
Kate also recalled how she didn’t really fit in when she first moved to California because her British ways were so different.
She said: “It didn’t occur to me that you had to change your handbag to fit your outfit until I was deep into my 30s. That’s not how British people operated…
“There were maybe four people in Britain going to the gym at that time and we were highly suspicious of them all.”
The ‘Farming’ actress claimed she was “deeply unpopular” when she was at university because she didn’t really enjoy drinking.
She said: “I didn’t like drinking vodka out of a welly.
“In fact, I didn’t drink at all, which meant there was no real chance of getting into my knickers – so what was the point of me? I was deeply unpopular.”
