Keira Knightley: Mothers deserve more credit

OHMYGOSSIP — Keira Knightley doesn’t think mothers get “enough credit”.
The 33-year-old actress has three-year-old daughter Edie with her husband James Righton, and has said she believes women should be praised for enduring the “physical and emotional marathon” they go through when they become mothers.
She said: “I don’t think we give women enough credit for the physical and emotional marathon they go through when becoming a mother. I come from a place of amazing privilege. I have an incredible support system; I’ve been unbelievably lucky in my career; I can afford good childcare, and yet I still find it really f***ing difficult.”
And the ‘Colette’ star insists its “okay” to admit parenting is difficult.
Speaking to Balance magazine, she added: “It’s OK to say that. It doesn’t mean I don’t love my kid, it’s just me admitting that the sleep deprivation, the hormonal changes, the shift in relationship with my partner, are all things that make me feel as if I’m failing on a daily basis. I have to remind myself that I haven’t failed, I’m just doing what I can do, but it’s not easy.”
Her comments come after she previously claimed she isn’t “maternal” despite being a mother, but knew she “always wanted” to “experience” parenthood.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star said: “I was never particularly maternal, but I always knew I wanted to experience that. It’s part of life. I want to experience as much of life as I can.”
And Keira admits she “misses” going out like she used to but understands that she can’t do that or she wouldn’t be “the parent that she wants to be”.
She added: “I do miss going out. I loved it. I felt like a big part of myself was the self that was out dancing until six in the morning most nights unless I was on a film. That’s a difficult shift for any couple when you have a child. I don’t think we would have survived physically for that much longer if we’d kept going at that rate, but it was a big shift. I think the first year we tried to pretend that we could have that life still, and we can’t – not being the parents that we want to be.”

Oscars to go ahead with no main host?

OHMYGOSSIP — The Academy Awards look set to take place without a main host for the first time in three decades.
Kevin Hart stepped down from presenting next month’s ceremony after some of his past controversial tweets emerged, which he has since spoken out twice to apologise for, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are now said to be lining up a select group of A-listers to introduce the segments rather than one host.
Sources have told Variety that barring an 11th hour change of heart, the show’s producers are planning to focus on music in film skits due to likely nominees Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar and Dolly Parton, rather than have one individual kicking the ceremony off with a monologue of quips.
Insiders insisted the idea of Kevin returning to host the ceremony, which will take place at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on February 24th, is 100 per cent dead.
The comedian confirmed as much in an interview earlier this week.
He said: “I’m not hosting the Oscars this year. It’s hard to predict what can happen … right now I don’t have the time.”
The 39-year-old actor also admitted this week that his chances of fronting the awards ceremony are “very slim”.
He said: “If you’re a gambling man, that means that you’re a gambler, so you’ve gotta let your money roll. I’m not gonna say anything, and I’m definitely got gonna say it here, but the chances are very slim.”
This came after recent speculation that the Academy could ask him to reconsider.
What’s more, Chris Rock – who previously fronted the Academy Awards in 2005 and 2016 – has ruled himself out of presenting the Oscars this year, but he thinks Steve Martin should do the job.
Spotting the ‘Father of the Bride’ star in the crowd at the New York Film Critics Circle awards dinner at Tao Downtown in Manhattan on Monday (07.01.19), Chris said: “Steve Martin, you should host the Oscars! You were the best. I’m not doing that s**t! You’re not getting me.”
The Oscars were last without a main host in 1989 when Rob Lowe opened the show by performing a duet of ‘Proud Mary’ with Snow White, which became a nationwide controversy.
Speaking about the moment, he said last year: “I made a huge mistake. I had always thought the Oscars were a bit of fun escapism for America where we celebrate and honour the craft of making movies.
“What I didn’t realise was the grand solemnity and profound seriousness and the contribution to society at large that the evening represents to a lot of people, and that’s on me. That’s my bad.”

Wendy Williams pushes back return to show

OHMYGOSSIP — Wendy Williams has pushed back her return to ‘The Wendy Williams Show’.
The 54-year-old talk show host appeared on her eponymously titled show on December 18, with her arm in a sling which was hidden underneath a pink sweater, as she told viewers she had suffered a hairline fracture to her right shoulder during an accident which had left her needing to heal.
Wendy was due to return to work on January 7, but the date was delayed by another week to January 14, and now it has been revealed she won’t be coming back until January 21.
Instead, on January 14, a panel of ‘Hot Talkers’ will take her place.
The producers of the show, Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein, said in a statement: “As she has for the past 10 years, Wendy delivers an incomparable live talk show day in and day out and we want to give her the best opportunity to heal and recover.
“Wendy has our complete and unwavering support and we look forward to her return to the iconic purple chair.”
Wendy previously addressed the “genuine concern” for her health after struggling through the daytime show in pain.
The author apologised to her viewers for the “less than stellar” episode on December 21, admitting she went “against” her “better judgement” going ahead and filming the programme whilst she is still struggling with the injury.
In a lengthy message to her Instagram followers, Wendy – who suffers with an overactive thyroid and autoimmune disease Graves – wrote: “To My Wendy Watchers,
I sincerely apologize if you feel that today’s show was less than stellar. I’m on your TV screens every day wanting to spread laughter, entertainment and cheer. “As I reported earlier in the week, I have a hairline fracture on my upper arm, which hurts like hell.
“I’ve never broken a bone or experienced a fracture in my life. In the key place where the fracture is, and trying to scurry around and do too much, I am now paying the price. I’ve never taken a pain medication in my life (except when I got snatched over 20 years ago) until this week. I did that to power through and try to deliver a great show for you, against the better judgement of the many people around me who genuinely care for my well-being.
“I really do ride or die for my craft and give 200%. Not to mention everyone is aware at this point about my thyroid condition (don’t cry for me Argentina).
“For all my fellow thyroid sufferers, you know what the deal is. And for those that don’t: I encourage you to please read up.
Needless to say, whatever today’s performance was with the legendary The Lox, who said such nice things, I have no regrets and I appreciate everyone’s genuine concern for my wellness and care. (sic)”
Vowing to get some much needed rest, she concluded: “I promise you a better Wendy in 2019. I will get some much needed rest and healing over these next couple of weeks. (Yes I am definitely juicing over the next couple of weeks). Sorry again. I love you all. Happy Holidays! (sic)”
The presenter was forced to take a three-week break from her talk show in October last year, when she collapsed live on air due to complications with her thyroid and Graves.

Brian May ‘disappointed’ by Bohemian Rhapsody Special Effects snub

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian May thinks the critics got it wrong after ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was omitted from the BAFTAs’ Special Visual Effects category.
The Queen guitarist is thrilled that the blockbuster musical about the iconic band and their late frontman Freddie Mercury is up for seven awards at the prestigious ceremony, but he finds it odd that the extensive work it took to recreate the Wembley Stadium scene from 1985’s Live Aid concert has not been recognised.
The ‘We Will Rock You’ hitmaker also finds it “very strange” that Lucy Boynton – who played Freddie’s (Rami Malek) love interest Mary Austin in the movie – didn’t receive a nod in the Supporting Actress category and that the movie is not up for Best Film.
However, he applauded the “homeland critics” for the Outstanding British Film nomination.
The movie also received nods for Cinematography, Editing, Sound, Costume Design, Make Up & Hair, and Malik will go up against Bradley Cooper (‘A Star Is Born’), Christina Bale (‘Vice’), Steve Coogan (‘Stan & Ollie’) and Viggo Mortensen (‘Green Brook’) for Leading Actor.
In a lengthy Instagram post, the 71-year-old rock legend wrote: “Nominated for BAFTA(s) ! Hoorah ! I think there is a wee subtle message here, from our homeland critics, which I’m sure some people will be smiling about. But I will refrain from comment ! !! Thanks guys ! And – Go Rami !!! *****. Just saw that very happily we have some very significant other nominations. For Sound – BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY John Casali, Tim Cavagin, Nina Hartstone, Paul Massey, John Warhurst. Justin and Hailey Bieber in ‘no rush’ for official wedding ceremony

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin and Hailey Bieber “aren’t going to rush” their wedding ceremony.
The happy couple tied the knot in secret on the day they acquired their marriage license in September, and although they’re technically already husband and wife, they are planning an official ceremony, which was originally set to take place this month.
But sources now say the couple are still planning their romantic ceremony, and would rather push back the date instead of compromising on their perfect wedding.
An insider told E! News: “They have a wedding planner and were hoping to make a January date work. They can’t wait to celebrate with family and friends and have a big party. But, January is here and they are still working out details and planning.
“[They] aren’t going to rush it and want to make sure that its everything they want it to be. They’ve tossed around different ideas for where to do it and they are still going back and forth. They’ve met with their pastor numerous times to discuss the religious ceremony and figure out exactly what they want.”
And after the pair do make things official with a ceremony in front of family and friends, 22-year-old Hailey – who was previously known as Hailey Baldwin – would like to start a family with the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker.
She said previously: “I love kids and I can’t wait to have my own. I would say now that’s a closer reality.”
Justin, 24, confirmed his marriage to Hailey in a social media post made to mark Thanksgiving in November.
He wrote: “Happy late thanksgiving to everyone. First thanksgiving as a married man, first time hosting thanksgiving. First time both sides of the family has come together. Relationships are hard and love isn’t always easy but thank you Jesus for showing me how! Every day is a learning process, trying to be more like him, patient, kind, selfless, boy I got a long way! But gods grace is sufficient (sic).”

Ashley Judd’s Harvey Weinstein allegations dismissed in court

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Judd’s sexual harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein have been dismissed in court.
The 50-year-old actress claimed she lost out on a part in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ after she rejected the shamed movie mogul’s sexual advances in a defamation lawsuit filed in April, and on Wednesday (09.01.19), the courts ruled in favour of Weinstein, as they dismissed her lawsuit.
According to TMZ, a federal judge ruled that Judd and Weinstein did not have a relationship that fell within the law, as the producer/actress relationship they had was not covered under the law.
Laws were changed to cover such relationships in 2018 following the increase in women coming forward to accuse Hollywood moguls of sexual misconduct, but the judge in this case claimed the change to the law could not be applied retroactively.
In July, a court heard how Weinstein argued the ‘Divergent’ star had “filed this action 20 years too late” as the alleged incident happened in 1998.
As well as not meeting the statute of limitations, his court documents also insisted the single incident was not “pervasive or severe” enough to amount to sexual harassment.
And in response to the documents, Judd and her team claimed at the time they were confident they could “oppose” the bid to have the case dismissed.
They said in a statement: “Mr. Weinstein’s arguments seeking to escape the consequences of his despicable misconduct are not only baseless, they are offensive.
“We look forward to opposing his flawed motion, moving forward with discovery into his outrageous behavior, and proving to a jury that Mr. Weinstein maliciously damaged Ms. Judd’s career because she resisted his sexual advances.”
In the original filing, Judd accused Weinstein of “retaliating” after she turned down the producer.
The court documents read: “The pathetic reality, however, was that Weinstein was retaliating against Ms. Judd for rejecting his sexual demands approximately one year earlier, when he cornered her in a hotel room under the guise of discussing business. A self-described ‘benevolent dictator’ who has bragged that ‘I can be scary,’ Weinstein used his power in the entertainment industry to damage Ms. Judd’s reputation and limit her ability to find work.”
Judd was claiming for damages, an order to prevent Weinstein from “engaging in further retaliatory conduct towards” her, an injunction against Weinstein to “cease engaging in unfair competition” and legal costs.

Rita Ora: I don’t mind dating rumours

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora doesn’t give “attention” to dating rumours about herself.
The 28-year-old singer has been romantically linked to several high profile stars including Calvin Harris, Rob Kardashian, and most recently Andrew Garfield, and has said doesn’t “complain” when it comes to speculation about her dating habits, because she knows people will always gossip about celebrity love lives.
Speaking to People magazine, she said: “It’s part of the territory. You pick and choose. I don’t complain about it. I just don’t put attention toward it.”
Her comments come after she recently revealed she doesn’t have particular type of person she likes to date.
She said: “I never know what I’m looking for. I don’t actually [have a type], at all.”
Rita’s latest single ‘Let You Love Me’ deals with the struggles of committing to a relationship, but claims she no longer has any trouble letting romantic love interests into her life.
She added: “I don’t have that much trouble anymore. I have great friends around me who are very local and we try to keep it small and compact and tight.”
In November, Rita was romantically linked to ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ actor Andrew, and although neither of them confirmed the romance, they were spotted together again over the Christmas period in London.
A source close to the pop star said: “Rita let slip to pals about her brewing romance about a month ago. But in recent days things have started to heat up and she says what they have is the real deal.
“It is still very early days but they like each other and are seeing what happens. Their schedules make things difficult but they have a real connection.”
Before Andrew, Rita was briefly linked to UK reality star Eyal Booker, whom she met through mutual friend Vas Morgan.

Jenna Jameson quits Twitter after being attacked for Jewish faith

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Jameson has quit Twitter after being “attacked” online for her Jewish faith.
The 44-year-old former porn star claims she has been hit with anti-Semitic messages on the social networking site, and as a result she is taking an “indefinite break” from tweeting after finding it “near impossible” to have “normal conversations” without being ridiculed.
She wrote: “Alright I’m taking an indefinite break from Twitter. It’s near impossible to just have normal conversations without hundreds of people attacking me for the past I cannot change.
“I want to clarify why I’m leaving. My sobriety and faith are the most important things to me. I am being attacked for my faith. Being Jewish. I must protect my love for G-d above everything, my sobriety and strength stem from him and his grace. (sic)”
After being attacked by one Twitter user over her faith and former career, she tweeted: “Nice try, moron. I converted two years ago and retired from the industry 16 years ago.”
She also reacted to another who described her as a “low IQ materialistic w***e”.
Jenna replied: “Actually Mensa. Self made multi millionaire. But here you are. Little cloaked boy trying to spar.”
Before her decision to quit the site, MMA fighter Josh Barnett hit back at some of her trolls, admitting some of the comments were “disgusting”.
In response to one hater, he tweeted: “It still really bums me out though to see people saying such s**t to you. It’s like there’s no line they won’t cross to try and degrade or hurt you. It’s disgusting.
“Just because a person has different beliefs is no reason to say s**t like that guy did. (sic)”
The troll then replied saying Jenna would “not have sex with you” for defending her, and she wrote: “Josh and I know each other and are friends. Why equate everything with sex?”
In 2015, Jenna – who had previously spoken about following the Catholic faith – suggested she had converted to Judaism ahead of her marriage to Lior Bitton.
In reference to the Jewish day of rest, known as the Shabbat, she tweeted: “Starting my grocery list for my Shabbat menu… Excited to try a few new recipes!!! (sic)”
She then posted: “Finished with my grocery list for my latest menu for Shabbat!”
Jenna also shared an image of a home-made meal, with the caption: “I made home made Chilean sea bass chraimeh, potato pancakes, Israeli salad and yummy challah! (sic)”

Megan Barton Hanson ‘signs up for Real Full Monty: Ladies Night’

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Barton Hanson has signed up for ‘The Real Full Monty: Ladies Night’.
The former ‘Love Island’ star is the first celebrity to join the cast of the ITV charity show, which sees female stars remove their garments to a racy routine to raise awareness of breast cancer, as the programme gears up for a second series.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “Megan is really excited about this show and can’t wait to show audiences a different side to her.
“It’s a new challenge but she’s no stranger to stripping off, so she will be showing a few of the other girls some tips and tricks.
“The night is for a fantastic cause and bosses are hoping it helps to raise a load of cash.”
The 24-year-old stunner is no stranger to taking off her clothes after previously working as a stripper and a webcam girl before entering the famous villa, and she recently revealed a dream to become a sex education teacher.
She said: “Sex education is really important and I want to go back to school to teach kids and answer questions they might be too embarrassed or shy to ask their teachers.
“Schools have a responsibility, as do parents, to teach their kids. I think if it’s awkward and weird coming from a much older teacher it doesn’t work or sink in. Me teaching sex education in schools would be brilliant.”
It comes after Megan admitted she doesn’t understand why stripping has such negative connotations.
She said: “I did it for a year – I got in, I got out, I earned my money, I didn’t hurt anyone. I don’t see why it’s so negative.
“Men enjoyed it, I enjoyed it, couples came in … everyone is happy!”
Last year’s ‘The Real Full Monty: Ladies Night’ featured ‘TOWIE’ star Megan McKenna, ‘Loose Women’ panellist Coleen Nolan and singer-turned-reality star Michelle Heaton, among others, baring their breasts for charity after performing a routine choreographed by Ashley Banjo.
In the documentary, they also shared their personal stories and connections to the disease.

Mary Poppins Returns follow-up ‘in the pipeline’

OHMYGOSSIP — A ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ follow-up film is in the pipeline.
Director Rob Marshall has admitted discussion about another movie is in the “early stages”, with Emily Blunt expected to return as the titular star if the film gets the green light, despite the motion picture being snubbed for a BAFTA nomination this week.
He said: “It is early stages, but I will say right now that there were eight books, so there’s a lot of great material still to mine.
“That’s what we worked from, those incredible eight books of P.L. Travers. So, you know…”
Due to there being so many novels in the series, Marshall has hinted there could be multiple films to come, which could see the franchise go on for as long as the ‘Star Wars’ and James Bond series.
He added to The Sun newspaper: “Listen, how many ‘Star Wars’ films have there been, you know what I mean? Or James Bond films.
“If there’s a great character and story to tell, why not?”
Producer John DeLuca said: “Emily does light up when she speaks to me about it. And if the people want it, I think it will happen.”
Blunt took on the iconic role of P.L. Travers’ magical nanny – which was made famous by Julie Andrews in the original 1964 classic – and she recently admitted looking into the eyes of Dick Van Dyke, who also starred in the first film, made her take note of just how iconic the role is.
She said: “We all just sat around Dick Van Dyke and wanted him to tell us stories of his whole career.
“Which he did, and he’d break into song all the time. It was just so terribly moving.
“And there was a weird moment when he finished the monologue and gave the Banks family their house back.
“He just sort of looked up at me with those blue eyes, and I thought, ‘Holy s**t, I’m Mary Poppins!’ ”

Stellan Skarsgard joins Dune remake as villain

OHMYGOSSIP — Stellan Skarsgard has been cast as villainous Baron Harkonnen in ‘Dune’.
The ‘Mama Mia! Here We Go Again’ actor will play the antagonist, whose family once ruled Arrakis in Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi movie adaption of Frank Herbert’s classic novel, which sees him fight Timothee Chalamet’s alter-ego Pauld Atreides, who leads a rebellion to restore his family’s reign of the desert planet after they are betrayed.
Skasgard’s casting comes hot off the heels of Dave Bautista – who worked with Villeneuve on 2017’s ‘Blade Runner 2049′ – joining as Glossu Rabban, the older nephew of Harkonnen.
Rebecca Ferguson is set to portray Lady Jessica, Atreides’ mother.
Villeneuve, Mary Parent, and Cale Boyter will produce the project, and Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Thomas Tull, and Kim Herbert will executive produce.
Legendary acquired the film and TV rights in 2016 after signing a deal with Herbert’s estate for his iconic tome.
The original 1984 movie featured Francesca Annis as Jessica, and Kyle MacLachlan played Paul, and Sir Patrick Stewart and Sting also appeared in the film, which was directed by David Lynch.
Villeneuve previously admitted ‘Dune’ is his “dream project”.
He said: “Once I commit, I commit. When Legendary offered me to do ‘Dune’, on a silver plate? Which was like my dream project that I’m dreaming to do for 30 years?
“I said yes right away.”
Filming is due to commence in Budapest and Jordan in spring.
Meanwhile, the 51-year-old filmmaker previously revealed he turned down helming Bond 25 to work on ‘Dune’.
He had been one the names touted to direct the final 007 movie starring Daniel Craig, but said no to the spy blockbuster because he was “busy” getting ready to fulfill his dream to remake the sci-fi epic.
He said: “The thing is I don’t know about that but listen, Daniel Craig is a very inspiring actor and I had some contact and the thing is that I’m busy right now doing ‘Dune’.
“But, I will say to have the privilege to work with him it would be a dream. I would love to work with Daniel and a Bond movie for me would be a treat. It’s a matter of timing, I guess.”

Corey Taylor hits out at Rick Rubin again over Slipknot’s Subliminal Verses

OHMYGOSSIP — Corey Taylor has hit out at Rick Rubin over his work on Slipknot’s ‘Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)’, insisting he “wasn’t there” enough.
The heavy metal band’s frontman felt the producer had around “six different projects going on” whenever they needed him, and the singer claims he didn’t see Rick more than once a week until it came to finishing the vocals for the group’s third studio album at his house.
He said: “I have learned from the Ross Robinson school of production.
“I loved it. Absolutely. It’s like, ‘There’s a reason I’m working with him – it’s because I can’t do it on my own. I wanna learn, I want a challenge – I want that.’
“When it came time to work with Rick, he just wasn’t f***ing there. He had six different projects going on, it felt like. It’s, like, ‘Oh, I’m working with U2 now.’
“And I’m, like, ‘We’re still in the f***ing studio, dude.’ Honestly, it wasn’t until we finished the vocals at his house that I saw him more than once a week.”
Despite the issues, Corey admits one of the highlights of the recording process was working with producer Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed the 2004 record, but the ‘Wait and Bleed’ hitmaker finds it tough to listen back to the album because it came at a time when he was starting to get sober.
He said: “I won’t get into the nuts and bolts of my issues, but we got a great album out of it – one that is hard for me to listen to.
“Because that was the album where I really started to get sober. So there’s a lot of that I can’t listen to.

Slipknot have teamed up with Greg once again to work on their forthcoming sixth studio album, which Corey will spend the next couple of months on in a Los Angeles studio, and the singer admits the band have a “great rapport” with the producer.
Speaking on Dean Delray’s ‘Let There Be Talk’ podcast, he added: “He produced the song ‘All Out Life’ that we just put out. So we have a great rapport with him.
“He gets us, he challenges us, but he also knows when to get out of the way and just let us be us. So we have a great relationship with him.”

Charlotte Crosby bids farewell to Stephen Bear tattoos

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Crosby is finally bidding farewell to her tattoos by ex-boyfriend Stephen Bear.
The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star has started laser removal surgery to get the half bear-half cheetah – which he carved into her as a tribute to himself because she got with him while in a relationship with someone else – on her back lasered off, as well as the basic fish her drew on her wrist, because she wants nothing more to do with the hunk following their messy split over a year ago.
Charlotte took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday (09.01.19) to share a video of her sitting in a surgeon’s chair having the unwanted inkings removed permanently.
Alongside a boomerang of her having her arm tattoo removed, she wrote: “goodbye”.
In a video, she said: “I am about to get, for the very first time, my tattoo on my back lasered … I am ready.”
Bear inked the tattoos on Charlotte for MTV show ‘Just Tattoo Of Us’.
A source previously said: “Charlotte is erasing the tattoos she had while she was with Stephen. Having them lasered off is like her closing a door on that chapter of her life. It’s really positive for her. She’s having the fish design, which he gave her on ‘Just Tattoo Of Us’, removed and the awful cheetah one she hates. Bear gave her that tattoo because he said she cheated on her ex Ash Harrison with him. It’s vile and she wants it gone forever. This year is all about Charlotte and she’s determined to leave bad news Bear behind her for good!”
And it’s not just the tattoos Bear gave her that she wants taken off her body, as she also decided to get the inking she had dedicated to her ex-boyfriend Mitch Jenkins lasered off the back of her arm.
Bear, 28, begged her to get back with him after he took responsibility for the demise of their 11-month relationship in December 2017.
Speaking a year ago, he wrote: “Dear Charlotte , I really messed up , if I can rewind the clock back maybe I wouldn’t of done the things I did and say. Life’s about making mistakes . I’ve just been really sad recently and I need to get it off my chest . I no being with me isn’t easy and I will probably send you insane in the end and I really do care and still love you . It might be too late but all I can do is try. The New Years coming up and I would love to spend the rest of my life with you.(sic)”
But he later told his followers she had shunned his attempts to get back together.

Rob Mallard suffers ‘awkward’ shop moment

OHMYGOSSIP — Rob Mallard had to Google himself in a shop to prove his age.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who portrays Daniel Osbourne on the ITV soap – had an “awkward” encounter when he headed to a store on Wednesday (09.01.19), and when he was refused service he had to look himself up on the internet to show staff he was as old as he claimed.
The 26-year-old star wrote on Twitter: “I just had to prove how old I am, in a shop, by googling myself. Peak awkward (sic)”
But the actor isn’t the only cobbles star who has had an eventful week at a shop.
‘Corrie’ legend Sue Nicholls – who plays hair salon owner Audrey Roberts on the soap – was at a store earlier this week when she became an unlikely hero by rescuing a mystery man’s shopping trip.
The guy, known as Taz on social media, realised he hadn’t brought along £1 to release a trolley when he turned up at the shop, only to ask the 75-year-old actress for assistance, and she produced a precious pound for him to pop into his trolley.
He wrote on Twitter: “The only time that I don’t have a £1 coin to use for the trolleys at Sainsbury’s and all people to ask is, flaming Audrey Roberts from Coronation Street (sic)”
But Daniel and Audrey may have another shop to get to grips with in Weatherfield this year, which could be good news for him but not for her.
‘Corrie’ producer Iain MacLeod revealed last month that there will be a new barber shop on the cobbles, which could see Audrey lose one of her only male customers in Ken Barlow (Bill Roache).
He said: “One of the key things that has changed in Manchester is vape shops and barbers and it felt like having a hipster barbers totally plays into David and Nick’s idea of themselves as upwardly mobile young gentlemen.
“It’s also a place for our young cast to go in and drink beer but characters like Ken and Roy would also go in, thinking it was an Edwardian throwback.
“I want somewhere where you have Roy and Adam in adjacent chairs, shooting the breeze.”
However, having a new barber shop on his doorstep could be great news for floppy-haired Daniel.

Gwyneth Paltrow spent honeymoon with Chris Martin

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk spent their honeymoon with her ex-husband Chris Martin.
The ‘Iron Man’ actress tied the knot with Brad Falchuk in The Hamptons in September, and has revealed their romantic getaway was a full on family affair as they were joined in the Maldives by the Coldplay frontman and his two child with Gwyneth, Apple, 14, and Moses, 12.
Describing it as a “very modern honeymoon”, Gwyneth told ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ on Wednesday (09.01.19): “We just took our honeymoon in the Maldives and we had a big family honeymoon over Christmas.
“So, my new husband and his children, my children, my ex-husband, our best family friends [all went]. It was a very modern honeymoon.”
Gwyneth didn’t say whether or not Chris’ new partner Dakota Johnson was in attendance.
The show’s co-host Kelly Ripa then asked: “Wait, your ex-husband went on your honeymoon?”, to which she replied: “I mean, yeah, pretty much.”
Ryan Seacrest was keen to know what they talked about at dinner, and Gwyneth said there was “great conversation” and they all had “such a good time”.
She said: “Oh, just great conversation and lots of kids and you know what it was great, we had such a good time.”
The 46-year-old star said that the aim was to “minimise the pain” for their kids, as they wanted to be with both their parents.
She explained: “We just wanted to minimise the pain for the kids.
“They just want to see their parents around the dinner table, basically, so we try to keep that.”
The former couple – who went their separate ways in 2014, after 10 years of marriage – also had a “modern” Thanksgiving with the children, Gwyneth’s new husband and the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ star Dakota, 29.
A source said: “They’re a total modern family and had a great time celebrating together.”
Gwyneth recently confessed she “doesn’t know” how to be a stepmother.
Television writer Brad, 47, has teenagers Brody and Isabella with ex-wife Suzanne Bukinik – but she admitted she is still getting to grips with being a blended family.
She said: “We are still doing it in our own way. With teenage kids, you’ve got to tread lightly. It’s pretty intense, the teenage thing. I’ve never been a stepmother before. I don’t know how to do it.”

Matt Willis’ substance abuse started at just 7 years old

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Willis says his substance abuse started when he was seven years old.
The Busted musician – who went to the Priory for treatment in 2005 – dismissed the idea that fame or the initial breakdown of the ‘Year 3000’ band was to blame for his issues with drugs and alcohol, and revealed he was trying to “get high” from his inhaler as a child.
Speaking on mental health podcast ‘The Naked Professors’, he said: “I was mildly asthmatic as a kid and I used to hide under my duvet and take as many hits of my inhaler as I possibly could when I was about seven because it would make my head throb, make my lips tingle.
“I’d be getting high in my bed at seven years old so I have always had this in me to find ways to get away from dealing with who I am and how I feel. Quitting drinking was one of the hardest tasks in my life.”
Although Matt, now 35, went to rehab after the group’s rise to fame and split, he had rejected the idea that it was the cause of his issues with addiction.
He candidly explained: “I was in trouble before the band ended, I was a massive alcoholic. I don’t think being in a band made me the way I am.
“I would have been the same if I worked in Tesco or a bank, I am an addict all the way through…
“Everything that takes me away from feeling the way I feel is a problem for me because I cannot deal with how I feel, so I will do anything possible to take that away and change the way I feel.”
Matt had been to rehab for alcohol and drug addictions twice before he tied the knot with presenter Emma Willis in 2008, but he didn’t get sober until his third stint of treatment later that year and he admitted he used to cringe looking back at the pictures from their big day.
He previously said: “I was a massive, bloated, wreck-head. A sweaty, chubby, d**khead…
“I looked terrible. I’ve burnt the other ones. I looked like a competition winner stood next to Emma Willis.”
In July last year, the couple – who have children Isabelle, nine, Ace, six, and two-year-old Trixie together – marked their tenth wedding anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony, at which the ‘Voice’ presenter and their female guests wore their original wedding gowns, and the ‘What I Go To School For’ hitmaker admitted he agreed to the celebration so he finally had some nice photos of himself next to the 42-year-old beauty in her bridal wear.
