OHMYGOSSIP — Taraji P. Henson doesn’t understand why some men are “uncomfortable” around powerful women.
The 48-year-old actress has said it baffles her that some men seem to be put off by strong females, because she believes they will only help to make the men “look better”, as they won’t “crumble” when someone makes a “sexist joke”.
She said: “I don’t know why [they’re uncomfortable]. We’re only gonna make you look better. My mouth is just as crass. You can’t crumble me with a sexist joke. If anything, I’m waiting for you to say something so I can check your ass.”
The ‘Empire’ star has long been passionate about creating roles for women in Hollywood, especially roles for actresses of colour, and says she always refused to accept the idea that there wasn’t enough room for multiple black actresses to be successful.
She added: “There was only one role for all of us black women when I came to Hollywood. But I always saw enough work for everyone. I never thought I was fighting. You create your own job. That’s how I was raised.”
Taraji was infamously paid less than her co-stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett for her role in ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ in 2008 – which she revealed eight years later in 2016 – and says that even despite the widely known scandal, she still gets offered low fees.
Speaking to NET-A-PORTER’s weekly digital magazine, PorterEdit, about her pay on the movie, she said: “I didn’t even ask for one million. But I had to see the bigger picture and bite that bullet. I knew that if I kept my ego in check I would get the victory. That performance was undeniable. I turned in an Academy-worthy f***ing performance. And what did they say? ‘We shoulda paid her.’
“‘They wanna pay what? Honey, a zero is missing. Tell them to go find it then call me back.’ If you come to Taraji P. Henson, you need to come with that money, because I earned it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Jackson had reportedly been “struggling for some time” with her mental health before she took a break to work on her wellbeing.
The 20-year-old actress recently revealed she has stepped back from social media and her career amid reports she’s checked into a treatment facility for her mental heath, and sources now say she’s been “battling depression” for a while, and had even begun to distance herself from family members.
Speaking about Paris – who has brothers Prince, 21, and Blanket, 16 – an insider told People magazine: “She has been battling depression and is electively seeking help. This isn’t the first time she’s sought professional treatment for her mental health and specifically depression.
“[Paris] has been growing distant from her loved ones. She is still close with her brothers but has been struggling for some time.”
The claims come after the ‘Star’ actress – who is the daughter of late music icon Michael Jackson – took to Instagram to insist that media reports of her seeking treatment have been “exaggerated”, as she’s merely taken a short break from her career and social media.
She wrote: “the media is exaggerating per usual.. yes i’ve taken a break from work and social media and my phone because it can be too much sometimes, and everyone deserves a break, but i am happy and healthy and feeling better than ever! gabriel and i have some new music we’re stoked to share with y’all! (@thesoundflowers) hope you guys’ new year started out with lots of love and light and all the things. i’ll be back soon!! xxox (sic)”
Paris had previously opened up about her battle with depression and says it stemmed from hanging out with “a lot of older people doing a lot of crazy things”.
She explained: “I was doing a lot of things that 13-, 14-, 15-year-olds shouldn’t do. I tried to grow up too fast, and I wasn’t really that nice of a person. I was crazy. I was actually crazy. I was going through a lot of, like teen, angst. And I was also dealing with my depression and my anxiety without any help.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ star Jeff Hordley gets told off for corpsing on set during serious scenes.
The 48-year-old actor plays Cain Dingle on the ITV soap and his alter ego is embroiled in a major storyline with his daughter Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) with her believing that her dad is responsible for the death of fiancé Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) following a fight but Joe’s associate Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) may actually be the man responsible.
The pair will be seen in some very heavy scenes in the coming weeks as Debbie can’t forgive her father Cain for his part in Joe’s passing but in between takes the two friends can’t stop making each other laugh despite the serious scripts much to the annoyance of the crew.
Speaking in a joint interview on ‘This Morning’, Jeff said: “This has been great to play because Charley and I are really just good friends and we really enjoy working with each other as sort of serious and dark and intense as some of the scenes can be. There’s a lot laughter on set.
Charley then interjected: “Sometimes too much!”
Jeff added: “When we make each other corpse sometimes, you can see the crew going, ‘Please can we get it together because we’ve got to get on.’ ”
Jeff admits there are trying times ahead for Cain because he believes he has “blood on his hands” and he knows his daughter Debbie can’t forgive her dad this time.
Jeff said: “People are asking the question is he alive, is he not, and I killed him, for the first time, blood on my hands.
“There’s be one constant in Caine’s life, it’s been its daughter and now that this happened because she’s always been for him and he’s always been there for her and this seems to be the end for them.”
Hinting there will be no reconciliation for the pair any time soon, Charley said: “We knew it was coming up, but it’s a big thing for them because it’s like will this destroy them forever and that’s the question that we don’t know at the moment. We’re filming stuff still aware they’re not speaking so who knows how long that’s going to go on for.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Solomon and her boyfriend Joe Swash have both agreed to keep separate bank accounts to ensure their children’s financial futures are secure no matter what happens in their relationship.
The 29-year-old television presenter and the 36-year-old actor moved in together before Christmas last year and all the finances for the property are split 50/50 between the two, but Stacey and Joe have made provisions for their kids which do not involve one another in case they did ever break-up.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (18.01.19) she said: “For me, I think it is a practical decision. Because I have two children outside of my relation with Joe it would be very difficult to throw everything in together because there are lots of things that I need to set up for my children’s future that I wouldn’t expect Joe to put aside for. We’ve got our things that are together and then we’ve got our things that are separate.
“He’s got a child, I have two children to care for. We are both 50/50 on the house we live in now and that’s ours and that is all 50/50. But then we have our own separate things and little bits for our children.”
Stacey has sons Zachary, 10, and Leighton, six, from two previous relationships, whilst Joe has 11-year-old son Harry with his former partner Emma Sophocleous.
Although she and Joe are making sensible financial decisions to prepare for any outcome in the future, the former ‘X Factor’ contestant never thinks about not being with Joe because she is madly in love with the former ‘EastEnders’ star and wants to marry him one day and have a “dream white wedding” ceremony.
She said: “I have this real white wedding dream in my head, I’d love to get married, I actually don’t want a marriage contract. I know that sounds ridiculous! I just want the day I want to declare my love to somebody. Once you’ve committed yourself to somebody a piece of paper isn’t going to make that any different for me.
“Joe is the most incredible human being. I absolutely adore him and trust him with every inch of my body.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ronnie Spector wishes she’d been able to help Amy Winehouse through her problems.
The ‘Be My Baby’ singer – who has spoken openly of her alcoholism and abusive marriage to Phil Spector – was “devastated” when the ‘Back to Black’ hitmaker died from alcohol poisoning in 2011 and blames the star’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil for her passing because he’s previously admitted he introduced his wife to crack cocaine and heroin.
Ronnie – who was cited as an influence by Amy – told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I was devastated when she passed. I wish, I wish I could have talked to Amy about [her relationship to drink], but sometimes it’s too late..
“I can’t blame her mother, but I can blame that husband.
“When I was with Phil, I couldn’t get out, but you have to find a way, and you have to find a person you trust and unfortunately Amy didn’t have that. All the artists I’ve seen who’ve gone down the drain, they didn’t have anyone who loved them for them, not their money or glory or glamour.”
The 75-year-old singer was kept a virtual prisoner by Phil – who was jailed for second degree murder in 2008 in relation to the death of actress Lana Clarkson – and credits her mother for helping her finally flee their home in June 1972 after her parent had a physical fight with the producer, now 70.
She said: “My mother got me out of there.”
The Ronettes star turned to alcohol to get her through the darkest times of her marriage as a way to fall asleep and avoid her husband.
She explained: “I would hold my nose and drink it down, so I could go to sleep and get away from his yelling. When I came back to New York, I got right back into singing, I never thought about drinking.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Brosnahan keeps her Golden Globe awards in her bathroom.
The 28-year-old actress has been on a winning streak thanks to the hugely popular Amazon streaming series ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’, in which she plays Jewish housewife Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel who discovers she has a talent for stand-up comedy in the late 1950s.
Rachel picked up Critics’ Choice Award earlier this month for Best Actress in a Comedy Series and scooped the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy to go with the host of other prizes she’s won for her portrayal of Midge, including an Emmy.
Unfortunately, Rachel doesn’t have a lot of space in her small New York City apartment so to make space for her statuettes she has put them on her “toilet shelf”, but she thinks it’s a good spot for her visitors because they can take photos with the gongs in private.
Speaking on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Rachel revealed: “I don’t have an office, no … You’ll get an office and you’ll put it in your office. It’ll look nice in the office. Well the thing about New York, and I said to you before is that, I live in a New York City apartment and there’s not a lot of space. There’s no such thing as an extra shelf lying around. I found an extra shelf, it is my toilet shelf and it’s top of the toilet. One went on there and then I put the other on there, but I tried to put the Emmy on there also but it’s not a very big toilet but I covered the button so I had to take it off otherwise you can’t flush and that’s not good for anyone.
“It’s looks nice right, thanks! Honestly this is a very private way to take selfies with them, they do that sometimes but also they’re intimidated at their most vulnerable.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexa PenaVega is pregnant with her second child.
The ‘Spy Kids’ star announced that she is having another baby with her husband, ‘Big Time Rush’ actor Carlos PenaVega, and the pair – who are already parents to two-year-old son Ocean – are “beyond excited” to expand their family.
Sharing a photo of herself holding a positive pregnancy test while next to her smiling husband and sleeping son, the 30-year-old actress said: “Holy Moly!!! Guys!!! We are having another baby!!!! Do we wake Ocean up and tell him??!! Beyond blessed and excited to continue growing this family!!! Get ready for a whole new set of adventures!!! #ClearblueConfirmed #ClearbluePartner (sic)”
Carlos, 29, also took to social media to express his excitement and posted a snap of the couple giving each other a peck on the lips while he holds a positive pregnancy test and a picture of the baby’s scan.

Days before the star announced her news, Alexa posted a mindful post reflecting on the importance of her family.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gillian Anderson “could be a therapist”.
The 50-year-old actress – who stars in the new Netflix comedy drama ‘Sex Education’ – believes she could become a professional therapist because she has always been good at giving advice to her friends and family.
Speaking to ‘The Late Late Early Early Show’ with Paul Ross on talkRADIO, Gillian said: “Over the years people have often come to me for advice and I’ve certainly have had a lot of therapy. I could be a therapist”
Gillian plays sex therapist Jean Milburn in the show, which also stars Asa Butterfield.
The actress confessed that she had a lot of “fun” playing Jean because it’s such an “out of the ordinary” topic.
Gillian added: “I really liked working with Asa, I think he’s fantastic in the show and most of my scenes in the show are with Asa or another guy that comes into Jean’s life later on and so I had a lot of fun actually!
“It’s also fun to make the most of it, realising the opportunity you have in that moment to make the most of something that is a universal and potentially awkward, weird and ordinary but also out of the ordinary topic. It was fun to play with it and to go in different [directions].”
Asa was similarly enthusiastic about working on the show.
He said: “It was great and it was like because we were filming all of our scenes pretty much together, it was an intense couple of weeks and we do have some great scenes together and that mother/son relationship, talking about these issues is so relatable.
“I certainly have felt that a lot of the things I would feel in a scene with here, things I felt talking to my mum growing up and I’m sure you felt the same way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rose McGowan has apologised to the transgender community.
The actress has insisted she is “profoundly sorry” for the controversial comments she made last year which suggested a transgender woman could not relate to the experience of a cisgender woman.
The 45-year-old star confessed that having your identity as a transgender person “ripped away” is “heartbreaking” and admitted that although she did not use the “correct language”, she has since educated herself on the correct “terminology”.
In an interview with Pink News, she said: “I would like to say I’m sorry, I didn’t have the correct language. I am, you know, an older woman from Hollywood.
“It’s not exactly the place for understanding the language. It’s just been a learning process and evolution, I’m here to say to people that are scared of trans-ness, we’re all women, we’re just different kinds of women and different kinds of men.
“There’s a huge spectrum to be had in that. And I think that’s a really beautiful thing. To have that ripped away is really, really heartbreaking and something that I am profoundly sorry for.
“I really do understand a lot more about the terminology, the struggle and have a lot more respect for it. And I think that’s important.”
The former ‘Charmed’ star is currently dating non-binary model Rain Dove, and went on to speak about trans-exclusionary radical feminists (TERF), whose main aim is to oppose the inclusion of trans women in female spaces and organisations.
She explained: “I really, honestly thought TERFs were made up.
“I didn’t think they actually existed. I thought they can’t be real. And it’s shocking to me because it’s so … I mean, don’t you realise what you fought for? You know as women, cis women, don’t you know what you fought for?
“We fought for the right to have a voice and to be counted and that fight is not so different, you know, fundamentally, at its core.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Tyler thought his bandmates were trying to “brainwash” him because they wanted him to get sober.
The 70-year-old Aerosmith frontman has admitted that when original bandmates Joe Perry, Ray Tabano, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer, tried to help him get clean of drink and drugs, he was scared he would “lose [his] creativity”.
In an interview with GQ magazine, he said: “We would do cocaine to go up, Quaaludes to come down, we would drink and then snort some coke until we thought we were straight. But that’s not true – you’re just drunk and coked out.
“It was interesting that I was being told by a bunch of guys that were still getting f***ed up, I thought they were trying to brainwash me.
“I thought I would lose my creativity … but I’m grateful that that happened because I would have never seen the light.
“All the magic that you thought worked when you were high comes out when you get sober. You realise it was always there, and your fear goes away.
“We all got sober, I guess, over ’88, ’89, and those albums were all off the charts. Finally had a No. 1 single.”
The legendary musician – who is father to Taj, 27, Chelsea, 29, Mia, 40, and 41-year-old Liv – confessed that although there was a “certain rawness” to his music while he was using drugs, he has too much at risk now to go down that path again.
He explained: “I got a band that’s still together, the guys are still alive, everyone’s healthy. We play better than we did 50 years ago,
“I mean, there was a certain rawness when we played clubs and we were all f***ed up. Sure, I get it. But the band is still together and still sought-after.
“People still want us for a million-plus dollars a night. And that’s what’s at risk if I use again. And my kids. My cats. My dogs. My beautiful f***ing house in Maui. My girlfriend. Everything is at risk.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sean Paul is “proud” of Shay Mitchell for her acting success, after she starred in his 2009 music video for ‘Hold My Hand’.
The 46-year-old rapper cast the ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star in his video 10 years ago before she secured her role as Emily Fields in the ABC drama show, and has said he’s pleased to see her doing so well a decade later.
In a video posted to his official Vevo YouTube channel in which he took part in the #TenYearChallenge – where people reflect on their lives a decade ago – he said: “‘Hold My Hand’. That was also in 2009. The video kinda called for me to do a little more acting. The lead girl in the video with me was, at the time, not known. A few years later she became the Shay Mitchell that we all know from ‘Pretty Little Liars’, and I’m so proud of her.”
The ‘No Lie’ hitmaker then dubbed her as a “dope actress” after seeing her recent work in Netflix psychological thriller series ‘You’, in which she plays Peach Salinger.
He added: “I just saw her on another Netflix film called ‘You’, where she played the b***h. She’s still a dope actress and she’s very huge right now, so big up to her.”
During the video, Sean also discusses other 2009 hits including ‘Press It Up’ and ‘So Fine’, as well as touching on his fashion style at the time.
Looking at a picture of himself from 2009, he said: “It’s crazy. That really was 10 years ago? The braids, the shirt … I remember the shirt, that was 2009. Yeah, I was a kid bro. OHMYGOSSIP — Rob Kardashian is “in a good place right now”.
The 31-year-old reality star has avoided the spotlight for a while now after struggling with his weight and warring with his former partner Blac Chyna – with whom he has two-year-old daughter Dream – but sources now say he’s “getting healthier” and is dedicated to getting his life back on track.
An insider said: “He’s in a good place right now. He’s happy, he’s getting healthier, and he’s just really settled into his role as a parent. That’s his priority and that’s what’s really giving him purpose right now.”
But despite his improved health, Rob reportedly has “no interest” in returning to his family’s reality show ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’, although sources insist his famous family are still very supportive of him.
The source added to ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Rob is not involved with filming ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, he has no interest in that. His family would love to have him back on the show, but they of course support any decision he makes and they’re just happy that he’s finding his groove, being a dad and living a quiet life makes him happy. He sees his family all the time. He’s rarely alone.”
Claims Rob won’t be returning to the E! show come after his older sister Kim Kardashian West seemed to hint recently that he would make an appearance in the upcoming season.
She said: “[Rob will] be [on] a little bit more next season. He has his moods. Sometimes he’s like, ‘Look, I didn’t sign up for this’ and then he’s like ‘I’m cool to do it.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Pratt “instantly” felt like a member of Katherine Schwarzenegger’s family.
The 39-year-old actor got engaged to the author – who is the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver – over the weekend, and sources have said that although they only began dating in June, the engagement doesn’t feel “quick” for them because their close family bond made it seem like they had been together for years.
A source told People magazine: “For someone on the outside, it might seem their engagement came too quickly. But for everyone close to them, it feels like they have been dating much longer than they actually have.
“They never had a typical relationship. It very much helped that Chris already knew Maria. They didn’t have to take things slowly because they were getting to know each other’s families. Katherine’s family instantly treated Chris like a family member.”
Not only did the pair have a short relationship before getting engaged, but they could have an even shorter engagement, as it was recently claimed they’re planning their wedding for this summer.
Another insider said: “They are one of those rare couples that you root for from the beginning. It won’t be a long engagement – Katherine has already talked about having a summer 2019 wedding.
“They’re going to want a religious wedding. I know that Chris does, and I assume that she does, too. God is going to be a part of this marriage.”
‘Jurassic World’ star Chris shared the news of their engagement on social media over the weekend, with a picture of him and 29-year-old Katherine hugging, with her engagement ring on display.
Alongside the snap, he wrote: “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!”
Katherine later reposted the photo to her own Instagram, adding: “My sweet love. Wouldn’t want to live this life with anyone but you.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Wendy Williams is taking another break from ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ in order to “focus on her personal and physical wellbeing”.
The 54-year-old talk show host has announced she will be taking an “extended break” from her eponymously titled show, after previously stepping away from the show in December when she fractured her shoulder.
Wendy had been due to return on January 21 – after the original date of January 14 was pushed back by a week – but it has now been revealed that the show will continue airing re-runs during the week beginning on the 21st, before new episodes air from the 28th with a selection of guest hosts.
In a statement on Instagram, the show wrote: “As Wendy Williams Hunter previously shared, she fractured her shoulder and has been on the mend. Over the past few days, Wendy has experienced complications regarding her Graves’ Disease that will require treatment. Wendy will be under the strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital. Despite her strong desire to return, she is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being. Wendy thanks everyone in advance for their well-wishes and for respecting her and The Hunter Family’s privacy during this time.”
Wendy previously took a three-week break from her show almost a year ago when she was diagnosed with Graves’ disease – an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid – in addition to the thyroid issues she was already aware of.
Debmar-Mercury, the distributor and producer of the show, said in a statement: “For over ten years, Wendy has been a vital part of the Debmar-Mercury family. We wholeheartedly support Wendy in this decision to take the time she needs and we will welcome her back with open arms the moment she is ready.”
Her break comes after she previously insisted doctors had told her she was “very healthy” for her age.
She said: “I’m on the mend, I don’t need an operation. They tell me I’m very healthy… for a person after 50.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott could get “married soon”.
The 21-year-old reality star and the ‘Sicko Mode’ rapper – who have 11-month-old daughter Stormi together – are reportedly thinking about tying the knot, but sources say Kylie is being “cautious” about the idea because she’s seen her sisters go through failed marriages in the past.
An insider said: “Travis and Kylie are looking to get married soon, [but Kylie is] taking marriage at a more cautious pace after seeing her sisters’ past relationships fail.”
Despite her reservations, the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star is said to be confident that her relationship with 26-year-old Travis could stand the test of marriage.
Speaking to People magazine, the source added: “Things are in a great place with Travis. They’re always together and just really happy.”
The news comes after Kylie recently fuelled speculation she and Travis have gotten engaged, after she took to social media to share a photo from the holidays where she can be seen sporting a diamond ring on her finger.
Travis, meanwhile, recently spoke about how he’d like for them to get married “soon” but he wanted to “propose in a fire way” first.
He said: “We was just two kids, f***ing around. Maybe, like, the first week, you don’t know if it’s real or a fling. Then the second week you’re like, ‘Whoa, I’m still talking to her, she’s responding, I’m responding. We ain’t run out of a thing to say.’ And it got to a point where I was like, ‘I need her with me to operate. She’s that one.’ We’ll get married soon. OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Hudgens was once called a “b***h” by a fan’s mother after she was unable to take a photo with her.
The 30-year-old actress rose to fame when she starred as Gabriella Montez in the Disney musical movie ‘High School Musical’ in 2006, and although she had legions of young fans, she says it was often the parents who were more intense as they “would do anything” to make their children happy.
Recalling one instance with a pushy parent during an appearance on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ on Thursday (17.01.19), Vanessa said: “Parents will do anything for their kids, right? So I remember, one time in particular, I was running to my gate and the airport, literally running, and this woman was like, ‘Oh my God, my daughter loves you!’ And I was like, ‘Thank you!’
“And she’s like, ‘I need a picture!’ And I was like, ‘I really can’t right now, I’m trying to get to my gate.’ And she’s like, ‘Come on! You owe this to me!’ And I was like, ‘I don’t owe you anything.’ And then she goes, ‘You’re a b***h!’ I was like, ‘I’m sorry?'”
Despite her fans’ parents sometimes giving her a hard time, Vanessa often spreads messages of positivity to her young audience, and recently urged her young female fans to embrace their “weirdness”.
Speaking after she collected an award at the Teen Choice Awards last year, she said: “To all my fans out there, I just have to say thank you guys so much from the bottom of my heart. You guys have been with me through thick and thin, and you guys have been such a rock for me, so thank you.
“Thank you so much to the Teen Choice Awards and the AMA for presenting me with this, I mean, ridiculously amazing award. You know, I’m not going to lie, when I was 25, I felt like I had it all figured out. And then I woke up at 27 and I realized I had no idea who I was, what I stood for, and what I wanted.
“And It was terrifying and extremely humbling. But I look back on that moment really grateful because it pushed me to look deeper and figure out what type of woman I want to become.
“I think it is so important for us to lean into our individuality and to embrace our weirdness, to not be afraid of being different, because God made you you for a reason, so know that in your heart, you are enough, and the more that you lean into that, the brighter you will shine.
