Sir Michael Caine: Jack Nicholson taught me not to quit

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Michael Caine says Jack Nicholson taught him the value of refusing to quit.
The veteran movie star actually retired from acting in the 90s, but Jack convinced him to change his mind after he was offered a role in the drama film ‘Blood and Wine’.
Michael recalled: “I got a script from a producer and he said, ‘You play the father, not the lover,’ and I thought, ‘Oh, I’m retired, it’s over, forget it.’
“I emigrated to Miami for the winter, and Jack was living there and we became friends. I decided I wasn’t going to work again and then Jack said, ‘I’ve got a movie called ‘Blood and Wine’, and there’s a very good part for you in it,’ and he talked me into doing it. The lesson was: Never give up.”
Michael, 85, initially over-indulged after finding success in the movie business, buying a Rolls-Royce even though he couldn’t drive at the time.
But as his career has progressed, the Oscar-winning star has become increasingly keen to keep a low profile – which is why he now drives “gray cars”.
Asked about his most extravagant purchases, Michael told Rolling Stone magazine: “In the 60s, after I’d just made ‘Alfie’, ‘The Ipcress File’ and ‘Zulu’, I had enough money to buy a Rolls-Royce, so I went out and bought one. I couldn’t drive, so I had to rent a chauffeur. Very expensive, and I never did anything that stupid again. I only kept it for a couple years, then sold it.
“Once you become famous you don’t want a Rolls-Royce because everybody looks to see who’s inside it. I’ve now got gray cars that everyone drives. No one ever looks in my car.”

Matt Lucas to star in first recording of The Hunting Of The Snark

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Lucas is part of an all-star line-up for the first ever full-length recording of the score of West End Show ‘The Hunting Of The Snark’.
The 44-year-old actor will play the role of Billiard Marker – originally played by the late comedian-and-broadcaster Kenny Everett – alongside Philip Quast and John Partridge in the recording of Mike Batt’s music.
The production was based on the 1876 poem by Lewis Carroll and Batt staged the show at the Prince Edward Theatre in 1991, featuring Quast as the Bellman and Partridge as the Butcher, and the pair are reprising their original parts.
‘Little Britain’ star Lucas admits he was “enchanted” by Batt’s music growing up and he is very excited to be part of the project.
He said: “I grew up listening to Mike’s music and I’m really excited to be working with him. I remember watching the concert version on TV and being enchanted by it, and I can’t wait to start learning the songs.”
‘Celebrity MasterChef’ winner Partridge, 47, added: “This score is, without doubt, a masterpiece, and I am so looking forward to hearing it again after all this time. I was 19 when the voyage began, 28 years ago! Thanks to all those who will have helped to make it happen.”
Although he is excited to get started on the recording, Batt, 69, admits it will be bittersweet working on his musical again without his friend Kenny – who died at the age of 50 in 1995.
The songwriter said: “This is such a great development. With Kenny Everett, my late buddy, so sadly missed I can think of no one I would prefer to play this part than Matt. I’m also delighted that ‘Snark originals’ Philip Quast and John Partridge, having gone from strength to strength in their careers, were still willing to take a step into the past and help me re-create the old magic. It’s a great start to the casting process of what is a very ambitious project, particularly in today’s challenging music business environment.”
Asked why he is undertaking this project Mike explains “I have always wanted to make a recording of the full score, in addition to the shorter concept album that exists already, because the full dramatic piece contains so much more material that has never been recorded or released, and as an entirety I consider it to be the centrepiece of my life’s work to date.”

Anne Hathaway’s Matthew McConaughey crush

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway has admitted she forgot her lines because her ‘Serenity’ co-star Matthew McConaughey is so “handsome”.
The Academy Award-winning actress stars alongside the 49-year-old star in the forthcoming Steven Knight-directed drama movie, and has confessed that her crush on her on-screen ex-husband (Baker Dill) distracted her on set.
Appearing on ‘Good Morning America’ on Wedsneday (23.01.19), she spilled: “I’m sitting there and we’re doing our scene and Matthew’s like a brother to me so I don’t think about all that other stuff … But I’m looking at him and nobody is talking and I go, ‘Oh it’s my line!’
“Why did I forget my line? Oh because you’re handsome! I was just staring at him and I forgot my line because he looked like a fragrance model which then it occurred to me, of course, he is!”
The ‘Devil Wears Prada’ star has also admitted it was tough to turn off from the film at the end of each day on set because it was so intense.
Anne – who has been married to actor Adam Shulman since 2012 – shared: “It wasn’t the longest job, I think we were only there for five weeks, but I remember on the last week looking at my husband and saying something to him, and he looked at me and he said, ‘I’m going to give you the dignity of your process right now. I know this isn’t you. You’ve got two days left. I’ll talk to you in two days.'”
Anne thinks her performance in the film – which tells the story of a fishing boat captain who is approached by his ex-wife to murder her new husband – was helped by it being shot in Mauritius.
As a result, the Hollywood star was able to spend more time discussing the project with the director and her co-stars.
She told Refinery29: “One of the best things about being as far away from home as we were on this one was that we were all staying at the same place, and there was a lot of opportunity to have conversations.
“I would meet with Steven to discuss the work week we had coming up, and we would hash it all out so there was room and we weren’t coming up with it on the set.
“I wanted to talk to him about all that [dialogue] because I thought that one of the opportunities in playing this character was to play a character with all the iconography of a femme fatale, but with the history of the feminist movement behind her.
“I thought it was as great way to subvert expectations about a femme fatale.”

Holland Taylor slid into Sarah Paulson’s DMs

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Paulson’s girlfriend Holland Taylor “slid into her DMs” on Twitter.
The 44-year-old ‘Glass’ actress’ partner might be 32 years younger than her, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how modern dating works.
Sarah was asked how she met the 76-year-old Hollywood legend on ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’ on Wednesday (23.01.19), and she revealed that after she met the ‘Legally Blonde’ star in passing at a dinner party – when she was seeing someone else – and Holland was the one who reached out to her on the social media app.
She recalled: “It’s a long story. We met a very, very long time ago.
“I was with someone else.
“We were doing a thing at Martha Plimpton’s house.
“It was for an organisation that she was working with and we were both doing a little PSA for it.
“We sort of breezed by each other and started following each other on Twitter.”
Her ‘American Horror Story’ co-star Billy Eichner then asked Sarah: “Holland Taylor slid into your DMs?”
And she replied: “She actually did!”
Sarah – who began dating the ‘Two and a Half Men’ actress in 2015 after first meeting her at the dinner party a decade before – previously defended the age gap between them.
She said: “If anyone wants to spend any time thinking I’m strange for loving the most spectacular person on the planet, then that’s their problem. I’m doing just fine.”
The ‘Ocean’s 8’ star believes she shares the same “soul” as her girlfriend and suggested there is something “brave” about their relationship.
She said: “I do not want to be defined by who I share my bed, my home, my soul with. My choices in life have been unconventional, and that’s my business. But I do want to live responsibly and truthfully without hiding. It’s complicated, because there is a lot of hate in this world, and a lot of good can come from quote-unquote normalising something for people who don’t see it as normal. Our relationship represents a certain amount of hope and risk. Maybe there’s something brave in it. Maybe it encourages others to make brave choices. What else can I say? We love each other.”

Emmerdale star James Moore lacked confidence as an actor

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ star James Moore “didn’t believe” he could establish himself as a disabled actor until he landed his role on the ITV soap.
The 42-year-old actor – who has ataxic cerebral palsy – won the National Television Award for Best Newcomer at the ceremony this week capping off an incredible few months for him but he admits his career journey has been a difficult one as a disabled performer.
Speaking to The Sun Online, he shared: “Honestly, it’s enough to win an NTA anyway and to have the public behind it. But I think this means that we’re doing great things for people with disabilities. We’re getting more diverse in society and more open and more accommodating.
“However, we still need more disabled voices because I don’t think that there are enough in public at the moment.”
Admitting that earning a place at the National Youth Theatre was the confident boost he needed to commit to acting full-time, he added: “A lot of it I think was my own personal struggle, my own mental struggle. I didn’t believe that I could do it – but it wasn’t for lack of trying. But I got into the National Youth Theatre and found my agent and it was like a steamroller from that point.”
James made sure he had a good time at the NTAs after-party and he was thrilled to get to meet many of the famous faces from television that he is a fan of.
He explained: “My friend and I had a few shandies. We kind of mingled with people. We met Paul O’Grady and he said congratulations, which was amazing. It was great wandering round and seeing someone you’ve been a fan of for years or been inspired by or seen on TV.”

Ricky Champ: EastEnders fans tell me they hate in a nice way

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ actor Ricky Champ says the soap’s fans tell him that they “hate” him in the nicest possible way.
The 38-year-old actor has got an interesting “taste of fame” playing the Albert Square villain Stuart Highway – who is currently harassing beloved character Dr. Harold Legg – on the popular BBC soap but he insists that people are generally nice enough to him even though they don’t like his alter ego.
Speaking to The Sun Online’s Soap Bubble, he said: “The vast majority of people, if they’re fans of the show, are really lovely. They shake your hand, have a photo and say how much they’re enjoying it. They’re like, ‘OMG, I hate you’, but it’s a nice ‘I hate you.’
“It’s been very interesting. I’ve tasted a bit of fame doing other TV shows, but nothing at all like this, nothing on the scale of this.”
Ricky – who previously revealed ‘EastEnders’ viewers had been berating him in his local supermarket for his character’s nasty behaviour – says his family help him cope with playing such a dark person on the BBC One show.
Ricky – who has 16-month-old daughter Beatrix with his wife Samantha – said: “I cope with it well actually. Accessing parts of yourself you don’t normally go to is very interesting to me. It doesn’t leave any long lasting damage. I’m quite healthy in my mind, I’ve got a beautiful family at home and I’m very balanced in my life. I’m very thankful for that.”

Michelle Collins reveals Cheryl Baker urinated on her T-shirt

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Collins was left in a state of shock when Cheryl Baker urinated on her T-shirt on TV.
The 57-year-old actress was stunned when the 64-year-old presenter weed on her own T-shirt on ‘Celebrity 5 Go Camping’, but was also touched to learn that she did so because she didn’t want to wake-up her camp-mates.
Michelle said on ‘This Morning’: “You know what Cheryl Baker did … I didn’t think she was even going to tell anyone what she did … She didn’t want to get up at night, and wake me up. She weed on her T-shirt and she hid it away the next morning and tells us about it in the morning.
“She told her story on ‘Lorraine’. And I was like, Cheryl! She’s lovely, I love her, she’s like everybody’s big sister. And we were very lucky, because that’s the thing that frightens me going in those things.
“You could come up with the most horrendous people and just cower into a corner and not want to come out.”
The blonde star gushed that she thoroughly enjoyed filming the Channel 5 show – which also features Joe Swash and comedians Bobby Davro and Stephen Bailey – because everyone got on and she especially bonded with Stephen.
She said: “Stephen Bailey was so lovely and you always find someone who you bond with, I think.”
The former ‘EastEnders’ star also revealed that she is not keen to appear on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because she has never had any formal training.
She explained: “They’re all too good, aren’t they? I’ve never been to stage school, I’ve not had any dance training whatsoever.
“You should never say never to anything I don’t think these days because there are no boundaries anymore. You just don’t know, and then if I did do it, I’d look very silly!”

Steven Knight is almost done with Taboo series 2 script

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Knight has almost completed the script for the second season of ‘Taboo’.
The 60-year-old screenwriter is putting the finishes touches to the script for the gritty drama series – which stars Tom Hardy as James Delaney, an adventurer who returns home to London from Africa in 1814 in order to inherit his late father’s shipping empire – and has revealed he is planning on continuing the show until its third series.
Steven said to Collider: “It’s almost completed in terms of the script we had a couple of delays because of other commitments but we are hoping to start shooting at the end of this year or the start of next.
“If we all stick with it and we all wanna keep doing it then that is the plan [three seasons] because I’ve got a kind of geographical route I think to take and it’s basically a journey West.
“I have a destination in mind which is always nice to have if you’re setting out on this big journey which is what writing three eight hours is – it’s good to know where you’re heading.”
The ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator also spoke of his long-standing professional relationship with Tom, 41, and insisted that the reason it “works” is because they don’t often socialise away from set.
He shared: “It’s really strange, I think it works because we don’t socialise, occasionally we do, but not very often I think that the relationship is totally about the work.
“The great thing about Tom is that’s his passion is the work, the acting, he’s not a fan of celebrity but he just loves to act and he loves to process and the craft.
“For me to have him occasionally available to do roles that you’ve written is wonderful because you know you can trust someone to really deliver what we’re doing.”

Megan McKenna and Pete Wicks are ‘sweet’ ahead of Celebs Go Dating

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan McKenna insists things are “sweet” between her and Pete Wicks after he signed up for ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
The 26-year-old beauty – who dated Pete before they split in 2017 – initially thought “it was a joke” when she heard that the dark-haired hunk would appear alongside her on the show, but she has now claimed there’s no bad blood between the pair.
Speaking to the Sun Online, Megan said: “I mean, I never thought in a million years I’d be back doing a show with Pete. I thought it was a joke!
“It’s alright, we’ve been out a few times a group of us, but let’s put it this way, if I was a viewer, I’d definitely be like tuning in. We’re sweet – the thing is it was a very awkward first scene.”
Megan – who split from former ‘Love Island’ star Mike Thalassitis last year after dating for seven months – also said that although it’s “still early days”, she’s glad she chose to do the show.
And despite still having some inhibitions, Megan is determined to “go for it.”
She explained: “I’m so glad I’ve done this show because I’m having such a fun time. It is very eventful; I’ve never been on so many dates in my entire life! But like, it’s interesting.
“It’s still early days, there’s still a lot of filming left but I just think like, some of the boys can be a***holes, I’m like what is going on here? There’s been a few moments where I like cut things short, but you know I’m just going for it.”

Nina Nesbitt reflects on being dropped by label

OHMYGOSSIP — Nina Nesbitt says getting dropped by her record label “turned out to be the best thing” to happen.
The 24-year-old singer – who previously dated Ed Sheeran in 2012 – was left devastated when she found out through her manager that Universal’s Island Records had decided to let her go, just as she was about to release her 2016 single ‘Chewing Gum’, but in hindsight it worked well for the Scottish star.
Speaking to The Official Charts Company, she admitted: “It was horrendous. I was basically shelved for two years and I actually made an album that never really came out. I didn’t know that I was shelved, so I thought we were putting an album out.
“I actually got dropped the day before ‘Chewing Gum’ was supposed to come out. I had no idea, and they were like, ‘Oh we’ll still put the single out’ and I was like, ‘Well, can I just leave?'”
Nina admitted that it was a “tricky situation”, but that it actually enabled her to be more independent and so she taught herself production.
She said: “It was a weird situation but I’m totally cool with them all now.
“To be honest, it wasn’t my A&R that was the issue, it was a tricky situation and I don’t think it was the right fit for either of us. It pushed me to go off and learn production myself and take control of things a bit more, which turned out to be the best thing that could have happened – but at the time it really didn’t feel like it.”
Nina ended up signing to Cooking Vinyl – who also have the likes of Richard Ashcroft and TLC on their roster – not long after she left Island, and she is set to release her second album ‘The Sun Will Come Up, the Seasons Will Change’ – the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Peroxide’ – on February 1.
Though she has produced much of it herself, Sam Smith producer Fraser T. Smith helped her on the track ‘Loyal To Me’ and another song, and ended up teaching Nina “a lot”.
She said: “Fraser didn’t come on until last summer and we were already in the swing of it by that point, but we really needed help on ‘Loyal To Me’, because I was just about to put the song in the bin because I couldn’t find the right production!
“I thought that he would absolutely nail it and I was really happy with what he did, and then we wrote a song together after that with Jin Jin, who’s written a lot of Jess Glynne hits, and that came about literally the week before I handed the album in.
“He’s been around for so many years and he’s so talented. It was really nice having someone that has been doing it for so long who’s had so much success – I learnt a lot from him.
“I wrote and produced a lot of it in my room sat on my bed, and I worked with Lostboy and Jordan Riley, who are about my age, which was a help. I like that it was a low-key affair and now they’re smashing it as producers as well.”

Nile Rodgers has role for RuPaul

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers has appointed RuPaul co-creative director of Chic’s new album.
The 66-year-old musician discussed the title of the record, ‘Executive Realness’ – a term popularised in 1990 documentary ‘Paris Is Burning’ – with his friend and explained his pal really helped with the concept.
Branding the ‘Drag Race’ star co-creative director of the album, he admitted: “That’s me just making up that title right now.”
And of their discussion, he added: “The first words out of his mouth almost brought me to tears. He said, ‘You know what, Nile? That concept is brilliant. I’ve always had to be the beauty and the beast my whole life.
“‘As Black people’ – and in his particular case as a gay man – ‘we have to play these different roles.’
“Sometimes people who are not seen as equals have to play the part they may not naturally fit. All my life I’ve had to work so hard, and it’s cool because I have a strong work ethic. But I always said, ‘Man, I work twice as hard for half as much.’ That’s just the truth.”
Nile came from a jazz, classical and punk background and though Chic became synonymous with the disco scene, he insists that wasn’t what they set out to do, but he thinks they did a convincing job of fitting in.
He told TorontoNow.com: “The disco thing was so alluring and so accepting – especially to us people who were snobs. We thought we were into the highest musical art form and everything else was beneath us.
“We were not disco artists – we only claimed that after the Disco Sucks movement said to the world, ‘These guys were disco and they’re now personae non grata.’
“We pretended to be something that we’re not. Bernard [Edwards] and I were not anything. But when it was time to play the part, we rose to the occasion.
“Give me the job and let me have on-the-job training.”
And the ‘Le Freak’ hitmaker is thankful for the opportunities it brought him.
He added: “The very first star I ever wrote songs for was Diana Ross – ‘I’m Coming Out’ and ‘Upside Down’. I got to do that at 20-something years old.”

Sia gave designer two days to make her wedding dress

OHMYGOSSIP — Sia only gave designer Christian Siriano two days to make her wedding dress.
The 43-year-old singer gave her long-time friend very short notice to create a wedding gown for her nuptials at her home in Palm Springs, California, when she tied the knot to filmmaker Erik Lang, whom she got engaged to in 2014 after knowing him for just just two weeks with the pair divorcing two years later.
Retelling the story, Sia – who is notoriously private – told InStyle magazine: “I married someone I didn’t know … You’ve got two days to make me a wedding dress! We’re getting married, like, tomorrow! So he whipped me up two, which I wore. It was a great wedding. I felt amazing. I felt really gorgeous. It was such a whirlwind!”
Christian added: “That was a fun phone call”
The Australian musician worked with Christian before performing at the Democratic National Committee’s LGBT Gala in New York on June 17, 2014, which was attended by President Obama and the ‘Greatest’ hitmaker confessed that she felt “more beautiful” on that occasion than on her wedding day.
She said: “I felt more beautiful singing for the president than I did on my wedding day,
“That was my fiercest moment, I’ve never looked hotter. You [Christian] laid it down! It was so amazing! It was a black fishtail… bustier, like sexy, tight.”
The ‘Elastic Heart’ singer – who hides her face by wearing oversized hats and wigs when she performs and when she hits the red carpet – went on to explain that the designer had always dressed her, even when “wasn’t very successful”.
She said: “Christian has dressed me in every permutation my body has ever gone through, even when I wasn’t very successful or overweight and nobody else would dress me, he has always been there saying, ‘I’ve got something for you.'”

David Tennant shocked by meaning of aubergine emoji

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tennant had no idea the aubergine emoji had sexual connotations.
The 47-year-old actor admitted that during a sexual harassment training film – which have become commonplace in Hollywood in wake of the recent Harvey Weinstein scandal – he was shocked to discover that certain picture messaging icons have sexual undertones, such as the vegetable, which is often used to represent male genitals.
Referring to a training video while speaking at the ACE Comic-Con in Arizona, he said: “Because of things that have been going on in our industry and it’s right and proper that there are debates happening in our industry that haven’t happened before.
“I’m about to start work on a new project and one of the things I had to do contractually is sit down and watch a video.
“Everyone on the production, you have to sit down and watch a video so no one can say ‘I don’t understand what harassment means’.
“And then at one point it was, ‘Remember, the eggplant emoji is not just an eggplant’ and that was it, no explanation, just that. I went, ‘WHAT?’ ”
The ‘Dr Who’ star – who raises four children with wife Georgia Moffett – admitted the session highlighted some obvious points, but it also left him worried he could accidentally offend someone with what he thought was a kind gesture.
He said: “Stuff like it’s bad to touch somebody on the bum and all that, and course, sure.
“You’re starting with a new company, here are the rules…I mean, imagine I was just saying ‘Do you want some eggplant for dinner?’ and suddenly I am up against a tribunal. Now I am terrified!”

Frankie Bridge is ‘boring’

OHMYGOSSIP — Frankie Bridge claims she and her husband Wayne are “so boring”.
The former Saturdays singer – who has sons Parker, five, and Carter, three, with the retired soccer star – has laughed off the idea of her own family reality show because she doesn’t think it would be particularly entertaining for fans.
Discussing Spencer Matthews and Vogue Williams’ new show, ‘Spencer, Vogue and Baby Too’, she said: “I think for people like them you watch them and they’re so interesting, where mine and Wayne’s lives are so boring, I don’t think people would want to tune in to watch us sitting and watching Netflix.”
While Frankie – who turned 30 last week – confessed to feeling “really broody”, she doesn’t think her 38-year-old spouse is so keen to have another child any time soon.
She told MailOnline: “I think about it all the time I am really broody, but definitely not right now and I think Wayne would take a lot of convincing, I’ve got a lot on this year, not quite now but I’m thinking I’m still only 30 so never say never!”
The brunette beauty has spoken openly about her struggles with depression but first got candid on the subject in an interview with Glamour magazine in 2012, after taking a break from work to receive hospital treatment.
But Frankie admitted she had a backlash from some who “didn’t think she could be depressed” because of her fame, though she thinks attitudes are changing now.
She said “I don’t really get people that have an adverse opinion to it, I remember back in the day when I did my first Glamour interview, people were saying stuff like what does she have to be depressed about?
“And I think that was just no one had as much knowledge back then whereas now everyone is more clued up on it.”

Jessica Biels regrets dressing ‘sexy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Biel regrets always trying to look “sexy” when she was younger.
The 36-year-old actress admitted her early red carpet choices were “always about the body” and though she knows that’s a typical “vibe” for someone in their early 20s, she wishes she’d experimented with different styles of dress.
Speaking to fellow actress Ellie Bamber for America’s In Style magazine, she said: “I wish I would’ve explored some different shapes, and not gone so sexy all the time. I think if you look at some of my earlier choices, maybe it didn’t need to always be about the body. I know it’s a vibe that you feel when you’re young, but still that’s what I would’ve done a little.”
The ‘Blade: Trinity’ actress – who has three-year-old son Silas with husband Justin Timberlake – also admitted that it took her time to grow into her femininity and learn more about fashion and accessorising her looks.
She said: “It took me a minute to get into those types of womanly things, like bags and shoes, but in my early 20s a light bulb went off and I was like, ‘Oh, I get it now.'”
But Jessica now embraces getting glam on the red carpet because she can wear more “super fashion” garments for photocalls that wouldn’t be appropriate in her everyday life.
She explained: “For me, fashion is fun because you can be one thing one moment, and something completely different another moment. I just try to find a balance.
“Some things that are super fashion don’t make a lot of sense on the red carpet. My off-duty look is usually just jean on jean with a pair of high-tops.”

Matthew McConaughey can’t remember being nude in film

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew McConaughey is stunned people keep telling him they’ve seen him “buck naked” in his new movie.
The 49-year-old actor – who has children Levi, 10, Vida, nine, and Livingston, six, with wife Camila Alves – insists he has no recollection of stripping off more than his shirt in ‘Serenity’ so he’s keen to take a closer look at the finished film.
Asked about being “buck naked” by ‘The Late Show’ host Stephen Colbert, he said: “That’s what I keep hearing. I’m going to the premiere tonight, and I’ve got to see if there’s a new edit or new cut of this film that I haven’t seen.
“I know that I was topless, and I’ve got people coming up and going, ‘Oh my God, it’s great to see you full frontal.’ And I’m like, ‘What?’ Was it really? Was I?’ ”
The host quipped: “Will that be the first time you find out whether you’re cut?”
In response, Matthew made a saucy pun about Wild Turkey Longbranch, his own brand of bourbon that he’d brought on set for Stephen to try, and the presenter’s own liquor, Savage Cock.
He laughed: “Speaking of bourbons that you and I love, it’ll be the first time we found out if I have savage cock or longbranch.”
Because of his guest’s disbelief about being naked in the movie, Stephen produced a still which seemingly showed the actor jumping off a cliff while nude.
But Matthew insisted: “I’m pretty sure I’ve got a nude coloured thing that’s holding bits from being dangling, you don’t want to jump from something that high with bits not where they’re supposed to be.
“That cliff’s about 60 feet. I did do that jump once.
“It is kinda painful, there’s a few things you have to learn – if you do have dangly bits, keep them very secure because I’m telling you I’m not just flapping in the wind, I would be injured right now if I was.”
