Toby Jones: Detectorists return ‘would be hard to resist’

OHMYGOSSIP — Toby Jones says a ‘Detectorists’ return would be “hard to resist”.
The 52-year-old star appeared opposite pal Mackenzie Crook in the BBC comedy, which told the story of their respective metal detecting-loving characters Lance and Andy, who go about their day searching for buried treasure in the north Essex countryside, and he hinted a return would be favourable because the programme is a “huge pleasure”.
He said: “It’d be hard to resist. It’s a huge pleasure, that show. There’s nothing unpleasurable about it – you walk to work in the countryside.”
Mackenzie created and penned the whole series – which has spanned three seasons – and Toby admits his co-star’s writing inspired him to create his new series, ‘Don’t Forget the Driver’.
Toby added to the Radio Times magazine: “He sent me like six pages of dialogue, and I remember thinking, this is great, this isn’t asking to be laughter.
“It’s two guys, two characters, not demanding laughs, just literally existing, and I suppose I found that very inspirational as a way of setting off a comedy. It’s not being absolutely hammered, you have to laugh at this – you can just watch this.”
Toby teamed up with Tim Crouch to co-write the new BBC Two comedy, which is set in the seaside town of Bognor Regis, and follows a group of people struggling with their sense of identity and place in the world.
The ‘Hunger Games’ star penned the sitcom with Tim two decades after they first met, and admitted the story emerged “really quickly” from an initial idea Tim had.
He added: “It’s certainly the first time I’ve written for television. Tim and I met at the National Theatre about 20 years ago, when we were both beginning to write shows for ourselves.
“We got on very well and talked a lot about the challenges of writing and performing your own work. We then left it for two decades – but he got in touch to say he’d had an idea for something.
“He grew up in Bognor and mentioned that Bognor had a webcam on its beach. He said he sometimes communicates with his brother, who lives in Sweden and is homesick for the town.
“He’ll go down to the beach and speak to him on the mobile while waving at him. His brother watches him live on the webcam. I found this idea strange and slightly unsettling, but also quite touching.
“So we sat down to see if we could write something together – and the story emerged really quickly, around webcams and coach drivers.”

EastEnders bosses ‘searching for 5th Bobby Beale actor’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ bosses look set to recast Bobby Beale.
The murderous teen – who has already bumped off his half-sister Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) in one of the soap’s biggest whodunits of all time – is soon to return to Albert Square when he is released from a young offender institution, but producers are said to be searching for a fifth actor to play the character, who was recently portrayed by Eliot Carrington.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “The production team have always been keen to develop his character and want to find the right actor to take him into adulthood.”
Eliot played bitter Bobby, who also battered step-mum Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) over the head with a hockey stick, leaving her critically injured, from 2014 to 2017 after taking over from Rory Stroud.
Rory took the reins from Alex Francis, who played the part from 2007 to 2012, after Kevin Curran portrayed Bobby from 2003 to 2007.
Bobby has been mentioned several times on screen in recent weeks with his dad Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) panicking about his son being released from a detention centre, where he is serving a three-year sentence.
The epic ‘Who Killed Lucy Beale?’ storyline ran from April 2014 to February 2015, with bookmakers taking bets on the possible culprit.
The 11-year-old character was an 100/1 outsider when the market first opened, but Bobby ended up as the favourite just days before he chillingly confessed to Jane that he committed the crime.
Lucy’s killer was unveiled in a special live week of episodes, with Bobby coldly confessing: “Whatever she says, she started it. She made everyone unhappy.”
Bobby’s life didn’t get off to a great start as there were doubts Ian was his dad, with rumours rife that Garry Hobbs (Ricky Groves) had fathered him with Laura Beale (Hannah Waterman).
But they were later quashed when a blood test proved Ian was in fact the lad’s father.

Leah Bracknell starts new treatment to slow terminal cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Leah Bracknell has started an experimental treatment to slow her terminal cancer.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star – who played Zoe Tate on the ITV soap – was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in 2016 and began a clinical trial last summer finding the first stage had stabilised the aggressive progression of the cancer.
The 54-year-old actress has now revealed she’s undergoing a new treatment in her clinical trial to decrease the progress of the disease even further.
Alongside the picture of an inflated blue latex glove with a face drawn on, she wrote: “A Spring Equinox rabbit-geez!!! ?( it’s becoming a bit of a competition among the nurses on the trial!) aka an ice filled latex glove for pre jab numbing. Thank you C , this is one to beat!! xx. (sic)”
The soap star previously insisted she’s determined to get her old life back and is sick of battling with conflicted emotions.
In a blog post titled ‘Take Me Back to Normal’, Leah wrote: “Living with stage four cancer is not black and white, we cannot always be the noble and exceptional patient nor are we always self-pitying and woe-is-me.
“Life on this path is far more nuanced see-sawing somewhere between the two; there are sunny days and there are days when dark clouds glower ominously and oppressively. To sum up, I am fed up of being fed up. And I’d like a break please.
“Having a moan and a whinge does not come without a sizeable chunk of guilt. I know there are people out there who are enduring much worse circumstances than I. I know that I have a great deal about which to be grateful.
“But that little part of me that is feeling sorry for myself just wants to be seen and heard. She wants to jump up and down shouting, ‘It’s not fair’, ‘I want my life back’, ‘I want to feel normal again’.”

Claire King says working on soaps is ‘harder’ these days

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire King says working on soaps is much “harder” these days.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star returned to the ITV soap as Kim Tate last month, and she believes life on the popular show is a “slog” because the actors are required to “learn so many lines” and film “so many scenes” in such a short period of time.
Claire told the Series Linked podcast: “The process has changed so much. It’s a whirl, pretty intense.
“The hardest jobs in this business are pantomime and soap. It’s the slog, the grind, the day-in, day-out, learning so many lines, so many scenes.”
The 57-year-old actress is glad to have gone back to the Yorkshire Dales, having first spent a decade on the soap following her 1989 debut, and the former ‘Bad Girls’ star – who returned to ‘Emmerdale’ for a one-week cameo last year – believes reprising her role is the “best decision” she has ever made.
She previously said: “Coming back to ‘Emmerdale’ was very daunting but the best decision I’ve ever made.
“It’s so much fun playing a soap super-bitch as you can get away with saying things you’d get a deserved slap for in real life! I don’t think she could be any bitchier – she just sees her goal and aims for it no matter who’s in the way.
“And I think she’ll probably be the most hated person in the country for a while, until we see a softer side (and yes, she does have one!) I think Donald Trump can relax for a while!”

The 41-year-old actor has joined the cast of the upcoming comedy which is based on a short story from author-and-comedian Simon Rich who will adapt the script and Jonathan Krisel on board to direct.
The film will follow a brilliant yet reclusive scientist (Kumail) who uses a time machine he’s invented to bring the greatest thinkers in human history back to present day in order to help solve the problems of today’s world.
However, after finding philosopher Aristotle, playwright William Shakespeare and first American President George Washington the scientist encounters a number of issues such as language barriers, racism and their tendency to solve problems with murder.
Kumail will next star opposite Dave Bautista in the 20th Century Fox comedy ‘Stuber’ and will also feature in Sony’s Men in ‘Black: International ‘ and recently wrapped Paramount’s ‘Lovebirds’ for which he serves as an executive producer.
The ‘Silicon Valley’ star received an Oscar nomination for scripting ‘The Big Sick’ which told Kumail’s real-life story of a Pakistani comic who meets an American graduate student named Emily (Zoe Kazan) at one of his stand-up shows.
As their relationship develops he soon becomes worried about what his traditional Muslim parents will think of her, however, when Emily suddenly comes down with an illness that leaves her in a coma, Kumail finds himself developing a bond with her deeply concerned mother and father.
The movie has grossed roughly $56.4 million since its release last year and Kumail previously admitted he wanted the story to differ from the traditional romantic comedy stating: “We wanted to take the tropes of the rom-com and tell a different kind of story.”

Charlie Hunnam says The Gentlemen is ‘vintage Guy Ritchie’

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Hunnam says ‘The Gentlemen’ will be “vintage Guy Ritchie”.
In recent years, the 50-year-old director has helmed blockbusters such as ‘Sherlock Holmes’ and his next release will be Disney’s highly-anticipated live-action ‘Aladdin’ remake.
However, Charlie – who starred as Arthur in Guy’s 2017 film ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ – has hinted that the filmmaker will be returning to his roots with the British crime thriller and compared the upcoming flick to the directors early work such as ‘Snatch’ and ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’.
Speaking at STX Entertainment’s presentation at CinemaCon, the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ star said: “When I read the script, it’s sort of vintage Guy Ritchie. I grew up on ‘Snatch’ and ‘Lock, Stock…’ so when he sent me this script and invited me to be a part of it, I just jumped at the chance.”
The film – formerly known as ‘Toff Guys’ and ‘Bush’ – has been described as a crime-laden tale about a “very British drug lord” intent on selling off his fortune, and having plenty of trouble doing it.
The movie will also star Henry Golding, Hugh Grant, Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell, Jeremy Strong and Michelle Dockery and Henry echoed Charlie’s sentiments insisting that the filmmaker has an “iconic” way of making films.
He said: “He’s got such an iconic way about him; he really sort of created a lot of that sort of genre and camera movement.”
Charlie, 38, continued: “He’s very sort of immersive in his process, he needs to be there on set with his actors to fully realise, even though he’s written the script, to realise what it’s gonna be. It evolves very, very rapidly through the course of the day. It’s really remarkable to watch him work in real time. There’s many scenes in this film that were excellent on the page, but the entire thing got thrown out in the morning and he just starts writing and we started improvising and playing … and the whole thing has been re-imagined.”

Samson Kayo joins Idris Elba in Mouse Guard

OHMYGOSSIP — Samson Kayo will join Idris Elba in ‘Mouse Guard’.
The ‘Youngers’ star will join the ‘Luther’ actor as well as Andy Serkis and Thomas Brodie-Sangster in Fox’s adaptation of the popular Boom! Studios comic, which is being directed by Wes Ball.
The film – which is set in a medieval world – will tell the story of an order of mice who are the sworn protectors of their realm.
Samson will play a member of the guard named Saxson, who is described as “lush and a scalawag” with a “fiery temperament and an inclination for melodrama”.
Idris, 46, is in talks to play Celanawe, “an Obi-Wan Kenobi-like figure who was once a legendary champion and now thought long gone”.
Serkis will star as the villain, while Brodie-Sangster will play the role of Lieam, who has to prove his bravery throughout the movie.
Production work on ‘Mouse Guard’ – which will be shot using motion capture – is expected to begin in May.
Samson is known for his work on the ITV2 series ‘Timewasters’ about a time-traveling South London jazz band and BBC Three comedy sketch show ‘Famalam’.
Idris will soon star in the upcoming big screen adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beloved musical ‘Cats’ which is based on T.S. Eliot’s ‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’ poetry collection – playing villain feline Macavity in the movie.
Idris will star alongside the legendary Sir Ian McKellen (Gus the Theatre Cat) and Dame Judi Dench in the all-star cast.
Dench – who was due play Grizabella in the original West End production in 1981, until she was forced to withdraw through injury – takes on the role of Old Deuteronomy.
Jennifer Hudson, James Corden and Taylor Swift are also set to appear in the motion picture.

Caroline Quentin on ‘spooky’ Men Behaving Badly reunion

OHMYGOSSIP — Caroline Quentin says a ‘Men Behaving Badly’ reunion would be “spooky” if the show returned in its old format.
The 58-year-old actress is best known for playing Dorothy on the sitcom – which followed the lives of flat mates Gary (Martin Clunes) and Tony (Neil Morrissey) – but Caroline believes it would be odd for the now-older characters to live together in a “grotty flat”.
When asked on ‘This Morning’ about previously saying she would be up for a ‘Men Behaving Badly’ reunion, she said: “It was probably about 10 years ago I said, ‘If it were to happen…’
“But I have to admit, now I think there’s something rather spooky about four people nearly in their 60s sharing a grotty flat together.
“I don’t know where the comedy would come from.”
While presenter Phillip Schofield pointed out that ITV’s ‘Cold Feet’ – which returned to screens after a 13-year absence – has been successful, Caroline argued the drama is “very different” to the BBC’s beloved slapstick comedy series, which also starred Leslie Ash as Deborah, who lives in the flat above the pair.
But the ‘Jonathan Creek’ actress admitted she would love to “hang out” with the cast members at any point, and loves starring alongside Martin in ‘Doc Martin’.
She said: “Listen I’d happily hang out with that lot any time anywhere.
“I’m doing ‘Doc Martin’ again this year which is great and me and Martin Clunes will be hanging out together and mucking about.”

Christine Lampard would be prepared to spy on Frank’s phone

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine Lampard would spy on her husband Frank Lampard’s phone if she had a “niggling doubt” he was cheating on her.
The 40-year-old presenter is very much happily married to football manager Frank, with whom she has six-month-old daughter Patricia with, and the pair implicitly trust each other.
However, Christine admits if she had any suspicions that the 40-year-old retired soccer player was being unfaithful she’d be scrolling through his smart phone.
During a discussion about whether or not it is ever OK to check your partner’s phone on ‘Loose Women’, she said: “We know each other’s passcodes and our phones are out all the time. I couldn’t be bothered, I genuinely wouldn’t think of looking because I don’t feel insecure about anything. But if I had a tiny little niggling doubt, I’d be straight on, no bother … If I had to, I would.”
Her fellow panellist Gloria Hunniford – who hails from Northern Ireland like Christine – then said: “You see, Northern Ireland girls!”
To which Christine replied: “You’ve got to watch us lot!”
Discussing the secrets to her and Frank’s happy marriage, the TV star has previously revealed that it is the “simple things” that make their relationship work.
Christine – who married the former England midfielder in 2015 – shared: “You know, for us certainly, I don’t know whether this is the key to happiness, but we love the really simple things that make you smile. So we both have a day off … say, a day in the week, and both get really excited about what we’re going to do that day.
“Now, it doesn’t have to be anything romantic or overly fancy. I mean, going to the pub and getting a bit tipsy at lunchtime. I mean really, really simple things. But that’s what we really love doing.
“I always said that you want to be with someone that you can properly belly laugh with, you don’t need anyone else to contribute to the conversation – just the two of you. I think that’s really special, that’s number one. Well, not necessarily number one, but it’s up there. And definitely the fancying thing, because you’ve got to still look at them and go, ‘That’s my husband,’ or ‘That’s my wife.’ I mean, if you can do that, I think that’s special.”

Lorraine Stanley missed out on Coronation Street role

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Stanley once auditioned for ‘Coronation Street’ but was rejected after messing up her northern accent.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress joined the BBC One soap for a brief stint as Thelma Bragg in 2016 and later that year she landed a role as regular character Karen Taylor, but she may have been treading the ‘Corrie’ cobbles instead after trying out for the rival programme.
She said: “I went to audition for Corrie once. I did a character with a northern accent for the read-through. But when I got there on the day, I just couldn’t do the accent.”
Unfortunately for Lorraine but fortunately for ‘EastEnders’ fans, she was only able to put on the northern twang while “messing around”.
She said: “I can only do it when I’m messing around. I was gutted.”
Despite missing out on the Weatherfield role, Lorraine has no hard feelings and hasn’t ruled out appearing on the cobbles one day if she’s required.
When asked if Karen could be in another soap for one day, she replied: “It would have to be ‘Coronation Street’ – I’d work behind the bar.”
What’s more, the 42-year-old actress would love to try her hand at ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ or ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: “I think I’d do ‘Strictly’ and get my dancing shoes on – show them how it’s done.
“Although people always say how much hard work it is, so I might backtrack on that.
“But I love a challenge and I really enjoy dancing – plus they need people who aren’t as able.
“Clair [Norris, who plays Bernadette Taylor] could teach me a move or two, she’s brilliant.
“I’d go into the jungle on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, too. I think I’d enjoy that. I’ve jumped out of a plane before, and I’ve done bungee jumps, too.”

Elizabeth Hurley would rather be ‘happy and single’

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Hurley would rather be “happy and single”.
The 53-year-old actress and model has no plans to rush into a relationship as she would rather be on her own but happy than “miserable” with someone.
She told the May edition of Red magazine: “People say, ‘Are you lonely?’ and actually, I’m really not. I’d rather be happy and single than miserable with someone, that’s for sure. It would be fantastic to fall in love with someone wonderful, but I’ve really enjoyed the past couple of years and it’s made me realise how important it is to find someone who shares similar tastes. I think that’s because I’ve had some time to do entirely what I want to do.”
Meanwhile, Elizabeth previously insisted she will always be friendly with her exes.
She said: “The thing is if someone’s lovely how could you not be on good terms with them? None of us has ever done anything bad to one another. Hugh [Grant] and Arun [Nayar] are very important in our lives. Shane [Warne] is still a good friend; we were texting each other last night. Damian loves Shane’s three kids, so we’ll always be connected to each other in one way or another.”
Elizabeth had previously decided it was best to send her son Damian – who she has with ex Steve Bing – off to boarding school so he could have a sense of normality.
She explained: “My mother helps where she can but she is a generation older and if Damian were at day school in London, aged 15, and I had to go away for work, I don’t think she would have been able to cope with the challenges … We’re quite isolated. There aren’t neighbours like there were where I grew up, when you could just get on your bike and say, ‘Do you want to come out and play?’ He doesn’t have that. It was the right decision and he’s very happy where he is. And now we have these great holidays every summer, on set. He likes that; he’d rather be on set than on holiday. There’s part of me, though, that would rather be on holiday.”

Lorraine Kelly delighted with Coronation Street mention

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Kelly had her year “made” last night (01.04.19) when she was mentioned on ‘Coronation Street’.
The 59-year-old presenter was home alone watching the ITV soap when she was shocked to see a scene in which Gemma Winter – played by Dolly-Rose Campbell – said she would love the Scottish TV host to be her mum.
Speaking on her morning show ‘Lorraine’ today (02.04.19), she said: “I was in myself watching it so there was nobody for me to go, ‘Oh my God,’ to.
“My phone just lit up like a Christmas tree.
“I absolutely loved that so much. It made my night, it made my week, it made my year.”
In the scene, Gemma told Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) she wishes Lorraine was her mother so she could hang around with celebrities all day.
She said: “I wish Lorraine were my mum.
“She’s dead pretty and we’d have celebs round all the time. I’ve always wanted to be Scottish.”
Speaking to the TV, Gemma then said: “You tell ’em, Lorraine. She’s quite feisty really. We’re similar.”
However, Lorraine isn’t quite as keen to be Gemma’s relative, admitting it “would be a handful” if she had to be responsible for the Weatherfield motormouth.
Speaking this morning, she said: “Can you imagine being Gemma’s mum? It would be a handful.”
Last year, Lorraine admitted she was “so jealous” of ‘Love Island’ star Hayley Hughes for once appearing on ‘Coronation Street’.
She said: “I’m so jealous. I would love to do that.”
Hayley starred alongside Sue Nicholls on the ITV soap as an extra in Audrey Roberts’ salon, and admitted the cobbles legend was “lovely”.
But Lorraine has already made an appearance of sorts on ‘Corrie’ – she played a policewoman on a 2012 special, ‘A Christmas Corrie’, for ITV’s fundraising evening Text Santa.
Speaking on her show after filming the scene, she said: “It was quite nerve-wracking, but I absolutely loved it.
“It’s so exciting that I’m going to be in ‘Coronation Street’ – amazing.”
In the scene, Lorraine’s police officer alter-ego had a tug-of-war with Tina McIntyre – played by Michelle Keegan – over a judge of eggnog.

OHMYGOSSIP — Awkwafina is to star in ‘Crime After Crime’.
The 29-year-old rapper-turned-actress will star alongside Ike Barinholtz in the upcoming STXfilms comedy crime caper which will see the ‘Ocean’s 8’ star play a podcast host who agrees to help the convict (Ike) she’s devoted her true-crime podcast to prove his innocence after he escapes jail and turns up at her house.
The film has been written by Dan Gurewitch and David Young with Nick Stoller and Conor Welch producing under their Stoller Global Solutions banner as well as Awkwafina, Barinholtz and David Stassen.
Announcing Awkwafina and Ike’s casting, Adam Fogelson – Chairman of STXfilms – said in statement: “Awkwafina and Ike are comedy powerhouses who make a supremely funny duo, and we can’t wait to see what they bring to this sharp and fun material.”
Welch jokingly added: “Nick and I are huge fans of Awkwafina. Ike, not so much. But he was already attached.”
Awkwafina will also appear in the upcoming sequel to ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ alongside Nick Jonas, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan – who will all be reprising their roles from that film.
And it was revealed this week that the ‘Jumanji’ teen cast, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner and Alex Wolff – who all appeared at the beginning and end of the film as the children who are transformed into adult avatars – will also be back.
The original 1981 book and 1995 movie of the same name both told the story of a magical board game which came to life when played.
The 2017 reboot updated the concept by making the board game into a video game in which four teens transported into its world, where the kids changed into grown-up avatars.

Foals returning to The Great Escape for intimate Spotlight gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Foals will return to The Great Escape Festival, 12 years after making their debut at the emerging talent extravaganza.
Yannis Philippakis and co will come full circle when they play label Transgressive’s 15th Anniversary Spotlight Show at Brighton’s Concorde 2 on May 10, over a decade after they played to just 350 fans at the East Sussex city’s Horatio’s venue as part of the event in 2007.
Toby L, the co-founder of London music company Transgressive, commented, “The Great Escape is easily one of the world’s most progressive and exciting showcase platforms and since Transgressive always endeavours to unearth and support brand new artists that offer something to say, it felt entirely apt to kickstart a year of parties, special releases and other birthday related gimmickry in Brighton at an event we’ve supported since its inception.
“It’s fair to say we wanted to do something pretty big to launch our birthday year, and I guess that’s how / why we’ve landed here…
“Foals have some incredible history with Concorde 2 and it seemed like an absolute dream to reunite them.
“We’ll have some new artists from the roster in support on the night, too, plus some friendly faces behind the decks. And we’ll hopefully be well warmed up by then as we are looking forward to staging another event the night before at The Old Market, co-hosted with our friends at Fender… More on that one soon, too.”
The indie rock band – who recently dropped their first release since 2015, ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 1′, with’ Part 2′ coming this spring – will be supported by fellow Transgressive artists Blaenavon and Bonifac.

Paul McCartney FaceTimed Billie Eilish’s parents

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney made Billie Eilish’s parents “cry” with joy when he FaceTimed them.
The 17-year-old pop sensation has found it surreal the amount of famous faces she has connected with since becoming a viral success, and recalled how her mom and dad burst into tears when the Beatles legend video-called them, after Billie told his fashion designer daughter Stella McCartney they are massive fans of his.
Appearing on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Monday night (02.03.19), which saw Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl in the audience – who is a huge fan of Billie – she said: “I feel like recently I’ve met a lot of people that my parents few up as fans of … you know, that’s no disrespect to your age .. .Dave.
“I was in a meeting with Stella McCartney and she FaceTimed her dad, who is Paul McCartney! My mom cried, my dad cried.”
Another “unreal” celebrity encounter Billie had was with Spice Girl Mel C – who watched her perform at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire recently and came backstage to meet her.
She said: “In London, Sporty Spice (Mel C) came backstage.
“When I was growing up, we would watch ‘Spice World’ (the film). I watched that movie, like, 40 times.”
The ‘Bury A Friend’ hitmaker also opened up about her battle with Tourettes Syndrome and admitted she doesn’t let the neurological disorder – which is characterised by repetitive, involuntary movements and vocalisations called tics – “define” her.
She said: “It’s not anything different, you know? I never said anything because I didn’t want that to define who I was.
“I think I’ve also learned that a lot of my fans have it, which made me feel kind of more at home with saying it.”
Former Nirvana drummer Dave recently revealed his daughters are “obsessed” with Billie’s music and said she has the same “connection” with her fans as the grunge band did in the 90s.
The ‘Learn to Fly’ hitmaker – who has 12-year-old Violet, Ophelia, four, and nine-year-old Harper with wife Jordyn Blum – tweeted the transcript of what he said at a Pollstar convention, which had been wrongly interpreted, which read: “…. I went to see Billie Eilish not too long ago. Oh my god man. Unbelievable. My daughters are obsessed with Billy Eilish. And what I’m seeing happening with my daughters is the same revolution that happened to me at their age.
“My daughters are listening to Billie Eilish and they’re becoming themselves through her music.
“She totally connects to them.
“So we went to go see her play at the Wiltern, and the connection that she has with her audience is the same thing that was happening with Nirvana in 1991. “The people in the audience knew every word. And it was like our little secret. So I don’t know…and her music is hard to define!
“I don’t know what you call it! I try to describe her to people and I don’t know…….I don’t even know what to call it. But it’s authentic. And I would call that rock n roll. So…. I don’t care what sort of instruments you use to do it. When I look at someone like Billie Eilish, I’m like…s**t man….rock n roll is not even close to being dead… (sic)”

Jameela Jamil details multiple experiences of sexual misconduct

OHMYGOSSIP — Jameela Jamil was a victim of sexual misconduct when she was just six years old.
The ‘Good Place’ actress – who has previously revealed she was date raped when she was 22 – was also “groped” when she was 11, intimately injured when she was 14 and has been subjected to a string of unwanted sexual advances over the years, as well as numerous sexual threats online.
She told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “I was six the first time a man showed sexual interest in me, 11 the first time I was groped, I was 12 when a 40 year old man grabbed my vagina on Oxford street in my school uniform at 3.30pm, so hard and for so long, that I bled and had to throw both of us against a wall to get him off.
“10 different men in different cities have masturbated at me on public transport. Three different people have ejaculated on my leg as a teenager on my way to school going up the escalator at the tube.
“I’ve been groped maybe 20 times at rush hour, I’ve been raped. I’ve been followed. I’ve been stalked.
“I’ve been chased by groups of men I’ve had to outrun to save my life. I’ve been assaulted just for saying no to a man’s phone number. I’ve been blackmailed in business in pursuit of sex.
“And I deal with constant rape and death threats on social media in my career. ”
But the 33-year-old star thinks the “scariest” aspect of her experience is that she isn’t alone.
She added: “And the scariest thing is that, most of my friends have had the same experiences. Mine is not a special circumstance.”
Jameela now wants to “hypernormalise” it for women to call out such behaviour and change the ingrained belief that people “shouldn’t be causing a fuss” by speaking up.
She said: “When things like this happen, things that are linked to a much bigger problem, I like to open these discussions on social media. Firstly I think it’s important to hypernormalise sharing and whistleblowing, as we have been encouraged for too long to keep this stuff secret and suffer alone, but also, my doing it encourages other women to come forward about their experiences, which creates a union between us, and it is an extraordinarily powerful way for men to see, in clear numbers, and in graphic detail, how many of us are subjected to a living hell at the hands of far too many men.
“It always creates an interesting, empathetic and educational dialogue between the genders, and I’ve noticed more and more men on my timeline want to get involved in becoming allies during this discourse.”
