Elle Macpherson insists on seven hours of beauty sleep

OHMYGOSSIP — Elle Macpherson has to get a “solid seven hours” of sleep a night.
The 54-year-old model believes getting a good night’s rest improves her complexion as it increases the body’s metabolic rate which encourages skin cells to repair themselves and insisted that any sun damage or “toxic overload” from late nights can be helped by getting enough sleep.
In an interview with Get The Gloss, she said: “A good night’s sleep is a must! I have learned to be a better sleeper in recent years and am a solid seven-hours-a-night girl now.
“We need our beauty sleep, it’s a scientific fact. I learned from my nutritional doctor Dr Simone Laubscher PhD, that the outer or top layer of our skin comprises tightly-packed dead skin cells which are constantly shed throughout the day.
“During deep sleep, the skin’s metabolic rate speeds up, which helps with repair. Whether it’s damage from factors such as ultraviolet rays or internal toxic overload from too many late nights, we really do need our ‘beauty sleep’.”
The blonde beauty is the owner of plant-based health and beauty brand, Welleco, and suggested her line’s Calming Mist if you have trouble falling asleep at night.
She said: “For quality beauty sleep, I brew a pot of Welleco Sleep Well Calming tea and spritz my pillows with Sleep Welle Calming Mist.
“The lavender scent really adds to the sense of calm I try to create before bed. If I still have trouble calming my mind, I lie on my back, place my feet up the wall, and stretch my arms (like the yoga pose viparita karani – ‘legs up the wall’ pose.)
“It has an immediate meditative effect on me. All I need is five minutes like that and I’m calm and ready for sleep.”

Catastrophe plans Carrie Fisher tribute

OHMYGOSSIP — The final episode of ‘Catastrophe’ will pay tribute to the late Carrie Fisher.
The comedy series will come to an end after the end of the current fourth series and co-creator Sharon Horgan has promised there will be a special nod to the ‘Star Wars’ legend, who had a guest role as Mia Norris, the mother of Rob Norris (Rob Delaney) for the first three sasons.
Sharon told RadioTimes.com: “It’s the last episode we’re ever going to do, and I can tell you that it’s a little bit of a tribute to Carrie Fisher.
“I can tell you that we really wanted to mess with everyone’s heads. It’s emotional, and it’s a little bit longer than usual.
“All of Rob’s family are there, and it’s not in England. That’s enough, right?”
Sharon and Rob had confirmed the show was coming to an end before the start of series four and she admitted they felt it was the right time to bow out while people were still enjoying the programme.
She said: “We’ve been doing it for a long time – from the start of it to now it’s probably six years – doing a show that we absolutely love, and getting to a point where we thought, ‘Well, what if we can’t think of something that’s original and funny anymore?’
“I would say writing episode four was maybe the hardest one in terms of coming up with stuff that felt original or new or like we had something new to say. So I think we just felt like, maybe, quit while we’re ahead.”
However, the pair haven’t ruled out bringing back the show in the future.
Sharon added: “And also, you know, maybe down the line like in 10 years or whatever, it doesn’t mean that it’s dead and over for good forever. But it just means that’s it for now.”

Jordan Peele’s Us releases new trailer

OHMYGOSSIP — Plot details of Jordan Peele’s upcoming horror movie ‘Us’ have been teased in a new trailer.
The latest teaser for the highly-anticipated thriller movie – which is Peele’s follow-up to his 2017 Oscar-winning directorial debut ‘Get Out’ – was aired following the Super Bowl on Sunday (03.02.19) and revealed Lupita Nyong’o’s character, Adelaide, becoming increasingly paranoid that something terrible is going to happen.
The scary trailer features a scissor-wielding family dressed in red who haunt the family whilst they are on vacation.
Lupita’s voice opens the eerie trailer by saying: “You know how sometimes things line up? Coincidences? Since we’ve been up here, they’ve been happening more and more. It’s like there’s this black cloud hanging over us.”
The horror flick stars Nyong’o alongside her ‘Black Panther’ co-star Winston Duke (Gabe Wilson) as they take their children on vacation to Adelaide’s childhood home in Northern California with their friends Mr and Mrs Tyler, played by Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker.
The trailer shows a second scene in which Adelaide comes face-to-face with the family who are haunting the Wilsons.
The premiere date of ‘Us’ was originally scheduled for release in mid-March, but it was delayed after the film was chosen to be the opening title of the South by Southwest Film Festival.
As a result, ‘Us’ – which was first announced in February 2018 – will now be released on March 22.

Joe Berlinger defends Ted Bundy biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Berlinger has rubbished claims that his Ted Bundy biopic glorifies the serial killer.
The director of ‘Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile’ – who also directed Netflix’s recent hit docu-series ‘The Ted Bundy Tapes’ – has defended his upcoming film amid criticism of its portrayal of the murderer, who charmed his 30 or more female victims before killing them in the 1970s.
He told Bustle: “I think the idea of this particular story, making a movie about Bundy, equals glorification of him is a very naive and knee-jerk reaction.
“Because if you actually watch the movie, the last thing we’re doing is glorifying him. He gets his due at the end, but we’re portraying the experience of how one becomes a victim to that kind of psychopathic seduction.”
The crime movie stars Zac Efron as the magnetic killer and chronicles the crimes of Ted from the perspective of his long-time girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins, who refused to believe the truth about him for years.
Joe, 57, defended the work, saying there should be “no censoring of subject matter”.
However, he also acknowledged that creating the film and “making entertainment out of other people’s tragedy” is in itself morally questionable.
He said: “I am highly aware of the hypocrisy that I myself participate in, about the nature of true crime film-making is that, at the end of the day, we’re making entertainment out of other people’s tragedy.
“I think there should be no censoring of subject matter, if it’s done responsibly. And even if it’s done irresponsibly, people have the right to tell any story they want to tell.”

Nina Nesbitt references Ed Sheeran split on new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Nina Nesbitt’s latest album contains songs about heartbreak after her split from Ed Sheeran.
The 24-year-old singer dated the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker briefly back in 2012, and on her LP, ‘The Sun Will Come Up, the Seasons Will Change’, she appears to have referenced their split and how it “f***ed her up” on the song ‘The Moments I’m Missing’.
One line of the track sees her sing: “At the end of July I met somebody who changed my life.
“And then I’m signed and falling in love for the very first time.
“But that f***ed me up, so then I had issues with falling in love.”
Both stars have penned tracks about their relationship in the past.
Ed – who also dated Athina Andrelos between 2014 and 2015 – wrote the hit single ‘Nina’ from his 2014 LP ‘Multiply’ about the ‘Somebody Special’ singer, who previously admitted she’s also referenced their romance in her own songs, and isn’t bothered by the way music has made their time together more public.
Nina – who has been dating Lower Than Atlantis frontman Mike Duce since 2016 – said: “We are both songwriters, of course we are going to write songs about each other. That’s just the way it is.”
She also said she was “really happy” for her ex following his engagement to Cherry Seaborn.
The 27-year-old singer/songwriter got engaged to his childhood sweetheart in January 2018 – and hinted the pair may have already tied the knot.
The ‘Make Me Fall’ singer insisted there is no bad blood between them, and she couldn’t be happier that he’s settling down.
She said: “I’m really happy for him, he deserves to be with somebody nice. We’ve kept in touch and are on really good terms. I wish him the best and I’m proud of how well he has done.”

Emily Ratajkowski spends $800 on skincare routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Ratajkowski spends $800 on her “everyday” skincare products.
The 27-year-old model has revealed her “crazy” beauty ritual to get her glowing. flawless complexion, and it includes always “taking her make-up off” at the end of the day and “exfoliating”.
Speaking to website Coveteur, Emily said: “No matter how crazy my day is, I always take the time to take care of my skin. I take my makeup off, do a little exfoliating, and depending on what’s going on, I’ll use different products. I’m using a tea tree exfoliating face wash, and I’m also using a Kiehl’s exfoliating cleanser ($28) that’s actually for men, it’s really nice.
“For everyday, my go-to is just the simple Kiehl’s cleanser ($20) if my skin’s looking OK and I don’t want to screw with it too much. I use a retinol; I really love Joanna Vargas’ Super Nova Serum, ($295) that product in particular is amazing. Lastly, I put on Barbara Strum’s cream rich ($230) so they all sort of seal together, and in the morning my skin is good. If my skin’s really dry, I use Sisley Black Rose Oil ($235). I also love [products from] By Terry.”
The sultry beauty also confessed that she is better at her skincare routine than haircare because it’s “harder” to keep on top of her tresses.
She added: “I’m really quick. I’m truly not as good with hair as I am with skin or makeup. Hair is harder for me, so what’s really been helpful is making my hair really healthy. I swear to God, I love the Kerastase Resistance Extentioniste, ($20) it totally changed my hair. I’ll shampoo my hair just at the roots, rinse it pretty quickly, and then I’ll put the conditioner in mid-length down, but not too much. Then I’ll shave or whatever, then rinse. You can actually feel it thickening your hair. Then when I get out and my hair’s a little wet, I’ll do one of two things.
“If I’m just chilling, I’ll put on a little bit of the Kerastase Elixir Ultime ($33) and just use it on my ends. It’s really important for me because I get so much heat on my hair. Even though I have a lot of it, I have fine hair, so it breaks. On days where I’m going to a bunch of interviews or meetings, I’ll use the mousse from mid-length down, and then blowdry it with Kerastase L’incroyable Blowdry ($35.00). It adds a nice texture. My hair’s really straight, so I have no curl at all, and getting a little bit of volume in it is super important. And then I can kind of leave that for a couple of days.”

Kaz Crossley has ‘a lot of love’ for Josh Denzel

OHMYGOSSIP — Kaz Crossley still has “a lot of love” for her ex Josh Denzel, and will not rule out reconciling with him.
The ex-‘Love Island’ star and the TV presenter announced last week they had split up after coupling up on the ITV2 show last summer, but the 24-year-old beauty has hinted the pair could get back together at some point.
Speaking on ‘Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp’, she said: “I definitely was in love, and I have a lot of love for Josh, we have a lot of love for each other, but it’s just the circumstances that you’re put in – you know, you’re living in paradise and you come out and everything has changed.
“We’re completely different people. Basically for me, I just want to have some time to find out who I actually am now, because everything has changed for me, and concentrate on my career.
“The same with Josh – he’s so busy, flying everywhere, doing such big things, and you know, we want to put all our energy into that.
“The opportunity that we’ve been given and the platform that we’ve been given is just too big of an opportunity to just, you know, not spend any time concentrating on.”
Quizzed on whether she would rule out ever getting back with Josh in the future, she said: “No, I would never rule that out. You just never know what’s going to happen.
“Everything needs to be looking at what’s happening now, and you know, I would never rule that out in the future.”
Kaz admits she and Josh, 27, have been “really sad” following their split, after finding it “so much pressure” embarking on a relationship in the public eye following their ‘Love Island’ journey.
She said: “I feel like in general it’s been really sad. I mean, it’s sad for both of us as well, but I think just being in the public eye and everyone looking at our relationship throughout the show being so perfect, it was just such a high standard to carry on. So I think everyone is really sad.
“It’s just so hard and it’s so much pressure. We always said from the beginning that we would just do the right thing for both of us and make decisions not for other people but for ourselves, and you know, not rushing into moving in with each other, and yeah, it was just a mutual decision that we made. We’re going to concentrate on our careers and I wish him all the best and he does with me as well.”
Tune into ‘Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp’, week days from 6am-10am and Saturdays from 6am-9am.

Maroon 5’s Adam Levine delivers energetic Super Bowl halftime show

OHMYGOSSIP — Maroon 5’s Adam Levine stripped down to his waist as the band delivered an energy-filled performance during the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday (03.02.19).
The chart-topping group took to the stage at the half-way point of the sporting extravaganza – which saw the New England Patriots defeat the Los Angeles Rams – at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, where they performed some of their best-known hits, including ‘Harder to Breathe’.
Then, Adam – whose show featured pyrotechnics and even an introduction from Spongebob Squarepants – performed ‘This Love’ with the help of a guitar.
The band were joined on stage during the halftime show by Travis Scott as he performed his track ‘SICKO MODE’, before he ended his set by falling onto the outstretched arms of people in the crowd.
Maroon 5 subsequently delivered a memorable rendition of their single ‘Girls Like You’, which was supplemented by a marching band and a gospel choir.
The band then opted to change the pace of the up-tempo gig with a performance of ‘She Will Be Loved’, which saw Adam walking through the crowd as floating paper lanterns drifted behind him.
However, OutKast rapper Big Boi subsequently arrived on stage to change the mood entirely, performing an energetic version of the track ‘The Way You Move’.
And Adam then rounded out the show by removing his top to reveal his eye-catching array of tattoos and to deliver a performance of the band’s 2011 hit ‘Moves like Jagger’.
Prior to the halftime show, Adam revealed he was looking forward to starring alongside Travis and Big Boi.
He previously said: “So Travis … he is it right now. He is the one.
“Like, this is a moment for him and we love what he does, obviously. We love what he represents because we love having a presence that this is the show that will have the biggest hip-hop presence that there has ever been on the show. I mean, I can’t look back and find that to be the case before. He’s it, he’s the man right now and he comes in hot.”

Sofia Vergara: Make-up makes me feel confident

OHMYGOSSIP — Sofia Vergara feels more confident when she’s wearing make-up.
The 46-year-old actress – who is married to fellow Hollywood star Joe Manganiello – has admitted that getting her hair and make-up done by a professional helps to boost her confidence levels.
Asked when she feels most confident, Sofia replied: “I wish I could tell you when I just wake up with no make-up, but no! I feel the best when I have professional hair and make-up done.”
Sofia also stressed the importance of surrounding herself with loving people.
The ‘Modern Family’ star explained that her friends and family have played an important role in keeping her grounded.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I think it’s important to always be surrounded by people that you love and that you like and you’re having fun with. I love the people in my family, the women in my family.”
What’s more, the actress revealed that her friends and family served as the inspiration for her new new denim line.
Sofia – who has a 26-year-old son from her marriage to Joe Gonzalez – explained: “When I was thinking about who the woman is that will buy my Walmart jeans, I realised I knew all those models, which were my family.
“I have beautiful women in my family, but they’re all very different and they all like to dress very nice. Some are tall, some are very short, some are super voluptuous, some are super skinny.
“I know all of those women with different bodies and different sizes, so it was very easy to help design what looks good for all those bodies.”
Sofia thinks social media has played an important role in giving a voice to women of all shapes and sizes.
She said: “I think, nowadays, because of social media, we know what people want. Before, people didn’t have a voice like they do now.
“We know that women are complaining that they don’t have enough [of a range of sizes], so we know that there is a hole in the market.”

Lily James: The blonde, sweet thing is ‘so not me’

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily James is keen to shed her ‘Cinderella’ image.
The 29-year-old actress – who starred as the iconic character in the 2015 Disney film – has admitted she is determined to branch out and distance herself from the perception of being a “blonde, sweet thing”.
Lily shared: “‘Cinderella’ was a gift, and I will treasure it for the rest of my life.
“But I wore a dress for the ‘Mamma Mia!’ premiere that was blue and white and quite pouffy, and when I got out on the red carpet, all anyone said was ‘Oh it’s Cinderella!’
“It’s a happy association, but also something that you want to shed at some point…”
Lily insisted that the public’s perception doesn’t chime with her real-life self.
She also revealed that she’s actively seeking to take on a wider variety of roles.
The actress told the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “The blonde, sweet thing is so not me … I’m actively seeking characters from now on that are different, who don’t rely on charm or the qualities that I think I’ve explored quite a lot.”

And the Hollywood star has admitted she sees the landmark birthday as being an “anchor point” in her life, predicting she’ll become “more secure” over the next decade.

“My twenties have been so chaotic, and I’ve always looked forward to 30 as being an anchor point. You stop caring so much about what other people think, and become more secure in your own life.”

Rihanna voices her support for Colin Kaepernick during Super Bowl

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna voiced her support for Colin Kaepernick during the Super Bowl on Sunday (03.02.19).
The 30-year-old pop star previously rejected the chance to headline this year’s Super Bowl halftime show amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Kaepernick’s take-a-knee movement, which protests against racial inequality in the US.
On the day of the game, Rihanna poked fun at a passenger on-board a flight she was travelling on, as he asked whether he’d be able to watch the showpiece sporting occasion from his seat.
The Bajan star called the passenger a “weirdo” and on her Instagram Stories, she was seen making various facial expressions to show that she was unimpressed by his request.
Hours later, Rihanna reiterated her support for Kaepernick – a former NFL player – by sharing an illustrated drawing of the sportsman.
The caption read: “For those of you who thought I was watchin the Super Bowl… we beefin (sic)”
In the end, this year’s Super Bowl halftime show was played by Maroon 5, who were joined on stage at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, by Travis Scott and OutKast rapper Big Boi.
The band were widely criticised for agreeing to play the gig, but frontman Adam Levine recently defended the decision, saying that he gave the issue serious consideration before he committed to playing the halftime show.
The singer – who is married to model Behati Prinsloo – said: “No one thought about it more than I did.
“No one put more thought and love into this than I did. I spoke to many people, most importantly though, I silenced all the noise and listened to myself, and made my decision about how I felt.”

Bradley Cooper had to ‘Zen out’ during Lady Gaga duet

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Cooper had to “Zen out” in order to make it through a recent duet with Lady Gaga.
The 44-year-old actor joined forces with his showbiz pal for a duet during a show in Las Vegas, where they sang the song ‘Shallow’ from their movie ‘A Star Is Born’.
Reflecting on the experience of performing with the Grammy-winning star, Bradley told E! News: “That was terrifying.
“I just had to like, Zen out and just pray that I wouldn’t ruin her show. Because, think about it, she just crushed it or two hours … and I thought, ‘Please let me just be on pitch.'”
Bradley and Gaga are also set to take to the stage together at the upcoming Oscars, where they will perform ‘Shallow’ once again.
And despite his experience in Las Vegas, Bradley remains anxious about the task on February 24.
He confessed: “I’m sure I’ll be terrified.”
Bradley – who made his directorial debut with ‘A Star Is Born’ – previously admitted that he performed in Las Vegas without having done any meaningful preparation.
By contrast, the Hollywood star is determined to be well prepared for his performance alongside Gaga, 32, at the Oscars.
He said: “I didn’t have any preparation. That was just to see. That was an amazing experience. But no, I want to work and like rehearse [before the Oscars].
“I’d thought about it and called Gaga, so maybe I’d go to the show and then I knew she was singing ‘Shallow’ for her finale. And I thought – I don’t know – maybe if she wants to bring me up, let’s see if it’s not horrendous.”

Dido’s son Stanley isn’t named after Stan

OHMYGOSSIP — Dido didn’t name her son Stanley after her hit song with Eminem.
The ‘White Flag’ hitmaker – who will release her first new album in five years, ‘Still On My Mind’, in March – gave birth to her little boy seven years ago, and had a number one in 12 countries with the track ‘Stan’, which features a remix of the lyrics from her song ‘Thank You’, in 2000.
However, the 47-year-old star has insisted that the single didn’t influence the choice of moniker for Stanley and revealed that her husband Rohan Gavin was also “bizarrely” keen on the name.
Appearing on ‘Lorraine’ on Monday (04.02.19), she said: “[He’s] definitely Stanley [not Stan]. Nothing to do with the song.
“I know [everyone assumes it’s to do with the song]. When I was a teenager, I was with my mate, I remember sitting on a wall, and they were like, ‘What are you going to call your kid?’ and I was like, ‘Stanley’. Bizarrely, when I met my husband, that was the name that was his favourite for different reasons.”
The song ‘Stan’ – which was voiced by the rap superstar – was actually about a character who was an over obsessive fan of Eminem, and it’s also believed to be the origin of the slang phrase to be a “stan” of a celebrity.
Dido also appeared in the music video as Stan’s pregnant girlfriend.
The 47-year-old singer is set to embark on her first world tour in 15 years, and has admitted it feels a “little bit scary”.
She spilled: “Yes, I’m super excited. I haven’t toured for 15 years. I didn’t realise I’d left it quite that long …
“I suddenly got that rush of, ‘My gosh, I really miss this!’
“Little bit scary. [The tour will be] all over the world.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Life for Rent’ hitmaker recently admitted that becoming a mother gave her the motivation to return to music.
She said: “One day I thought: ‘I’m going to write a song about having a kid then put it to one side, get that out of my system, done.’
“I’m really proud of it, it came out very naturally and it’s just a little song about what it feels like for me to love someone in that way.
“Then at that moment the floodgates opened, suddenly the world became full of songs again.”
The burst of creativity came after Dido struggled to connect with any of her material for a while.
She explained: “After I had my son if I’m honest everything I wrote for a few years after that was rubbish.
“I write about conflict and little moments of light and dark; but there was no conflict. I just loved him and there was nothing to say about that.”

The 21-year-old singer – who is dating ‘Without You’ hitmaker Halsey – sold out most of his dates in the UK in March, and his new run will see him play his biggest headline show to date in the British capital at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on November 21.
The extensive tour kicks off in Amsterdam on October 27, and wraps at Sheffield’s O2 Academy on November 29.
The alternative star released the single ‘Loner’ last month, and revealed the music video for the song was directed by himself and was shot at his grandmother’s house in Doncaster.
The rocker – whose real name is Dominic Harrison – filmed his promo in this location as he wanted it to be a “reflection of where [he’s] from” and so he can always remember that he owes his fame to his fans.
He said: “I created this track because it’s a reflection of where I’m from and who I am. I wanted to invite my fans and people who might not know me yet into my front room and to have a cup of tea with them. I wanted to show them what Dom looks like going to get a glass of water at 2am.

The ‘Psychotic Kids’ singer went on to explain that although he wanted the video to demonstrate his roots, it was also to show how “alone” he’s felt “his whole life”, even though he was surrounded by family and friends.

“The track reflects how alone I felt my whole life no matter how many people seemed to be around me.”

Holly Willoughby’s sister to marry Gareth Gates and Faye Brookes

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby’s sister Kelly Willoughby is to marry Gareth Gates and Faye Brookes.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress says Kelly – who is good friends with the loved-up pair – has agreed to get ordained so she can play a special part in their upcoming nuptials.
Speaking to the new issue of OK! magazine, Faye said: “We asked her if she would get ordained and marry us, and she said yes!”
Gareth popped the question at the start of the year by getting down on one knee during a trip to New York City, presenting the soap star with a four-carat diamond ring.
Faye – who plays Kate Connor in ‘Corrie’ – admits it was a “perfect” proposal and she is looking forward to getting married and spending the rest of her life with Gareth, 34.
