Nick Cannon’s emotional chat with Wendy Williams

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Cannon got “a little emotional” when he spoke to Wendy Williams about her illness.
The ‘Wild ‘N Out’ star – who suffers from lupus – has stepped in to guest host the 54-year-old presenter’s eponymous talk show for a few days while she takes an extended hiatus after suffering from complications with Graves disease and he admitted they both got tearful when they compared stories of dealing with an autoimmune condition.
Speaking on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’, he said: “It did because when I spoke to her she just said she feels y’all love, you know what I mean? And she knows that there’s probably a lot questions that haven’t been answered and stuff.
“But as someone who also deals with an autoimmune condition — I was diagnosed with lupus before — I know when you go through these things and these flair-ups and stuff, you never know.
“It’s day by day, y’all. You know, you one day could be a strong day and the next day you can’t even get out of bed.
“We was tearing up and everything because she said something to me that was actually really powerful. Because you know me and Wendy had a love-hate relationship over the years.
“But it’s nothing but love because I love my queen and when she said this, she said there can be negativity out there and she hears the things about people talking about her family unit and what’s going on and she was like, ‘You know what, we don’t want to bring that negative energy when you’re trying to heal.’
“You need your family and you need your friends in moments like this and that’s when love is truly tested. When you know I’ma stick through this regardless of what’s going on, we right there.
“So I spoke to everybody as a unit and we’re going to give her the same type of love because it’s all about this unit.”
Wendy wished Nick well with his three-day hosting stint but warned him not to get used to being in her chair.
He quipped: “She said, ‘Have fun, but don’t get too comfortable because I’m coming back.’ ”
The 38-year-old star also reassured viewers that Wendy is doing well, despite her absence from the screen.
He said: “I talked to her and honestly, she sounded amazing y’all. We jumped on the phone and first thing she said: ‘Nick Cannon, how you doing?’
“Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect at first. But her spirit was so big, it was so amazing.”

BTS set to present an award at the Grammys

OHMYGOSSIP — BTS are set to present an award at this year’s Grammys.
The South Korean boyband will be making an appearance at the annual awards bash in Los Angeles on February 10, although it’s not yet certain which category they will be presenting, according to E! News.
Despite their global popularity, the K-pop group – which features V, J-Hope, RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, and Suga – haven’t received a direct nomination for this year’s Grammy ceremony.
Instead, the ‘IDOL’ hitmakers have been given a nod in the Best Recording Package category, meaning that if they were to win the accolade, they will take to the stage with art director HuskyFox.
However, they will face stiff competition from St. Vincent’s ‘Masseduction’, Mitski’s ‘Be the Cowboy’, the Chairman’s ‘The Offering’ and Foxhole’s ‘Well Kept Thing’.
Meanwhile, RM previously admitted the band are currently riding the crest of a wave.
But the 24-year-old star also acknowledged that their fame and success can’t be sustained forever.
He shared: “We know that popularity is not forever. So we enjoy the ride, the rollercoaster, and when it ends, it just finishes.
“We’re on the jets and in the stadiums, but I don’t feel like it’s mine. It’s like we just borrowed it from somebody.”
Suga, 25, also insisted that even though BTS are the world’s most popular boyband, fans are largely respectful of their privacy.
He explained: “Fame is like a shadow. There’s light and there’s darkness; it’s something that follows you constantly and not something you can run away from.
“But people tend to respect our privacy. We go to art galleries a lot and people don’t really bother us, then after we leave they’ll make a [social media] post.”

Adam Thomas would be tempted to join Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Thomas would be tempted to join ‘Coronation Street’ “if the right character came along”.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star – who quit his role as Adam Barton in 2018 after nine years on the ITV show – admits he may be up for following in his brother Ryan Thomas’s footsteps on the cobbles, but he didn’t depart the Dales with the intention of doing another soap.
When asked if he would ever be tempted to join the ‘Corrie’ cast in the future, he said: “Never say never but I didn’t leave one soap to do another soap.
“I left to get out there and try new things but if the right character came along I’d definitely jump on board.”
Adam is currently starring in new BBC daytime drama ‘Moving On’ and is to appear in new BBC drama ‘Pitching In’, but in between shooting shows he has landed a job with a property company doing up houses and selling them on.
He said: “In between jobs, I’ve got to keep a roof over my family’s head so I’ve been working three days a week for one of my mates who’s got a property business.
“Basically I find small residential properties, do them up and sell them on. I’ve always loved anything to do with property so why not get paid for doing it!
“Acting will always be priority but I’ve got to keep busy for my own sanity if nothing else.”
Despite departing ‘Emmerdale’ last year, Adam would be keen to return to the soap at some point, but hinted he has no plans to step foot on the Dales set anytime soon because he has “so much more” to do.
He added to TV Times magazine: “Of course, but not just yet, it’s only been a year and I feel like I’ve got so much more to learn and do.”
Adam recently revealed he had “made a fortune” working in property, and admitted it was a “great” career move for his “own sanity”.
He said: “I’ve made a fortune. I’m in between jobs.
“I was just at home, waiting for a phone call to do an audition – I needed something to tick me over.
“I’ve got a family to support at the end of the day, so I needed some sort of income.
“It’s great for my own sanity to get out there and start working.”

Keith Urban to play London show

OHMYGOSSIP — Keith Urban has announced an intimate show in London ahead of his ‘GRAFFITI U’ tour.
The country music legend will perform at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in north London, on March 6, two days before he headlines C2C music festival at The O2 arena in the British capital as part of his tour in support of his latest studio album, which also comes out on March 8 in the UK.
The ‘Parallel Line’ hitmaker is currently in Australia and heads to Europe on March 3, where he will perform in Berlin, Germany.
After C2C, Keith – who is married to Hollywood star Nicole Kidman – will also play the Glasgow and Dublin dates of the festival, before returning to the US to complete his tour.
The ‘Somebody Like You’ hitmaker previously admitted the name for his tour and record was partly inspired by his own moniker.
He explained: “I was toying with the letter ‘U’.
“Obviously it’s the first letter of my last name, but I liked that when you say it, it’s also the word ‘You’. For me, that’s the listener, that’s the audience.
“The sound of words is a big thing to me – ‘Ripcord’ was like that, ‘Fuse’ was like that. Fuse and Ripcord denoted a certain kind of energy in the word to me.
“‘Graffiti’ to me felt very uninhibited, artistic, liberated expression. ‘Graffiti’ to me is a blank canvas and pure artistic expression upon that.”
Tickets for the O2 Forum Kentish Town show go on general sale at 9am on Friday (08.02.19) and will be available from: www.aegpresents.co.uk/events/detail/keith-urban

Wolf Alice’s new album is inspired by ‘TV and films’

OHMYGOSSIP — Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell is seeking inspiration from “TV and films” ahead of writing the band’s third album.
The group are currently enjoying some downtime, but Ellie has admitted she’s determined to stick to her New Year’s resolution of trying to “stay inspired, stay curious, stay positive and stay happy”.
Speaking about her inspirations, she shared: “It can be anything to me – I keep my mind open to try new things, be constantly reading, going outside, seeing people.
“It’s nothing drastic. You never know what’s going to inspire you. I think watching TV and films is key, sometimes. I’m not like, going through the back catalogue of ‘Friends’ or anything.”
Ellie also revealed she’s been reading books and listening to other bands in a bid to spark her creative juices.
She told NME: “I’ve just read the book ‘Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine’ [by Gail Honeyman]. That was quite a good read.
“I’ve been listening a lot to that new Crows song. I’ve been trying to listen to a bit of country music. I’ve never written country and I don’t know anything about it, so you can listen to it without putting on your analytical ears. That’s quite relaxing to me as a punter.
“I used to play Irish music so I’ve been trying to get back into that.”
And Ellie hopes the band have some new material to play by the time they top the bill at the Standon Calling festival later this year.
Asked about the possibility of debuting new songs at the festival, she said: “It’s too early to say at this point, but ideally I’d like to have something new. I’ll still be just as excited if we didn’t, but that’s six months away, so I’m not going to be chilling that hard the whole time!”

Ben Hardy cast alongside Tim Roth in Recovery

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Hardy has joined the cast of the upcoming thriller ‘Recovery’.
The 28-year-old actor is set to star in Adam Randall’s upcoming drama alongside Tim Roth, with the last lead of the three-hander now being cast ahead of a shoot in the spring.
The film – which will follow three men, one of whom is a terrorist, travelling together in a truck from London to Birmingham – is scheduled to begin production in March in the west Midlands in the UK and also in Belgium.
Roy Boulter and Sol Papadopoulos will produce for Liverpool-based Hurricane Films, while the British- Belgian co-production will also work with Umedia and backers Creative England’s West Midlands Fund.
Bankside Films is launching sales on the movie at this week’s European Film Market in Berlin.
It has not been revealed who Ben, 28, or Tim, 57, will play in the thriller – but Adam has admitted that Tim’s character will “hark back to his early roles”, such as that of the 1982 crime drama ‘Made In Britain’, in which he played a teenage skinhead.
Adam previously said: “Tim Roth is an amazing actor; I’ve been a fan of his for so long. This part harks back to his early roles – such as ‘Made In Britain’ and ‘Meantime’ – in which he played working-class characters on the fringes of society.”
Ben is fresh from his role as Queen drummer Roger Taylor in the award-winning biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, which follows the extraordinary life of Freddie Mercury.

Their last studio album was 2015’s ‘What Went Down’.
The 34-year-old musician decided to bow out of the the group in order to “pursue a new life”, and his bandmates – frontman Yannis, Jack Bevan, Jimmy Smith and Edwin Congreav – wished him well for the future.
The four of them reassured fans that their fifth album was well underway and is their “best yet” when Walter’s departure was confirmed.
In a lengthy post on their social media accounts, the ‘Cassius’ hitmakers announced: “To all our fans.
“Sadly we have to announce that our mate Water has decided to leave the band to pursue a new life. The parting has been sad but we remain firm friends. He’ll always be our brother, we love him and wish him well in his future endeavours.
“We had 12 amazing years touring together from a small postal van to the Pyramid Stage and beyond. It’s the end of a chapter, but not the end of the book.
“We want to thank him for all his time and energy and passion and we want to thank you for all your support from the early days and into the future.
“We are making new music and working on the fifth LP. It’s gonna be the best yet. Keep those ears alive. (sic)”

Bros ‘to sign new record deal with Warner’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bros are reportedly set to sign a huge record deal with Warner.
Matt and Luke Goss have seen a resurgence in popularity since the siblings’ documentary ‘Bros: After The Screaming Stops’ aired last year, which looked at their bitter rivalry which led to their acrimonious split in 1992.
And after the pair announced a comeback show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on July 5, it has now been reported that they are in negations for a massive money deal, which will see them release an album of new material and go on tour in the UK.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “The brothers are thrilled by the explosion of interest in the band, and amazed that it took a documentary to set the ball rolling.
“They can’t quite believe their luck, but after quite a few setbacks after Bros broke up, they feel they were due a bit of good fortune.
“Now they’re ready to conjure up the same magic that made them an international phenomenon three decades ago.”
Since playing their 30th anniversary shows in 2017, Luke and Matt have vowed to never break up again because they’ve realised that the “incredible journey” that they’ve been on with their fans made at the height of their fame, in the late 80s, isn’t over yet.
Luke said previously: “We’ve made our decision that Bros will never disband again. We’re still on an incredible journey with our community of fans. We are brothers for life.”
Meanwhile, Matt admitted it was tough to make the film because it meant giving up his privacy.
The ‘When Will I Be Famous?’ hitmaker said: “We value our privacy most of all, which is why we’ve never milked our celebrity status for reality TV – so it was a fearful decision. This film nearly broke me. I didn’t want to finish it at one point. I just wanted to go home. I had my life and I love singing but it was starting to get too painful and our relationship was in real jeopardy.”
Bros released three studio albums, ‘Push’, ‘The Time’ and ‘Changing Faces’ between 1988 and 1991.

Megan Barton Hanson won’t date famous men after Wes Nelson split

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Barton Hanson says she will never date someone famous again after splitting from Wes Nelson.
The 24-year-old reality star confirmed last week she and the 20-year-old hunk – who she met on ‘Love Island’ last summer – had gone their separate ways, and she has now vowed to never date another celebrity again because there is “so much pressure” involved and it is “even more painful” when the romance ends.
Writing in this week’s Grazia magazine, she said: “It’s been a difficult few weeks to say the least. The flat Wes and I shared got broken into earlier this month, then I contracted a kidney infection and ended up in hospital. And then, last week, Wes and I broke up. Break-ups in the public eye are horrible, it seems like there’s always one person who tries to vilify the other. But there’s no need for it.
“I really thought he was The One and that we’d be together forever. I wanted a serious relationship, so it’s heartbreaking for me that it didn’t work out. I also feel disappointed for the people who invested in us.
“I am hopeful for the future, although I do worry about finding the right person. I don’t want people to approach me because I’m ‘Megan from Love Island’. I just want someone who is nice, normal and grounded.
“I am positive that I will meet someone who loves me for me, but I never want to date a person in the public eye ever again.
“It’s just so much pressure and it’s even more painful when it ends.”
Megan admitted that the pair split because they wanted different things in life, and she is hoping to be engaged by the time she is 30.
She said: “I really love Wes as a person, but we realised we are in very different stages of our lives and our priorities are different. I’m 24 and by the time I’m 30 I want to be engaged. Wes is only 20. He’s living his best life.”

Sir Paul McCartney receives Gold Blue Peter badge

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney finally feels he’s “made it” after being honoured with a Gold Blue Peter Badge.
The Beatles legend was given the iconic accessory before his performance at London’s The O2 in December and can be seen receiving the prestigious honour on the long-running children’s show on Thursday (07.02.19).
Paul, who was chosen to receive the badge for inspiring generations of people with his music, said: “That is beautiful, that’s a great badge. I will wear it with great pride. Yes! I made it!”
During his appearance on the programme, the 76-year-old musician also offered some tips on young people for how to write songs – even though he admitted he still “doesn’t know” what to do.
He told presenter Lindsey Russell: “The only advice really is to do it… a lot.
“I have a song-writing class and the first thing I say to them is, look, I don’t really know how to do this – and at first they kind of look at me, but when you think about it there is no formula.
“I know how to write one of my songs but I can’t say ‘you do it that way’, because it’s a very personal thing. So the advice really is to just do whatever it is you’re doing… a lot!”
The Gold Blue Peter Badge is the show’s highest honour and is awarded in recognition of those who show great expertise, are good role models and have encouraged and motivated children across many generations.
‘Blue Peter’s Editor Ewan Vinnicombe said: “Sir Paul McCartney has inspired generations of Blue Peter viewers to love music and be creative – a core value of Blue Peter. I’m thrilled that we have been able to honour the legend that is Sir Paul with our highest accolade – a Gold badge.”
Previous recipients of the badge have included J.K. Rowling, David Beckham, Ed Sheeran, Madonna, Sir Peter Jackson, Queen Elizabeth, her grandson Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine.

Kacey Ainsworth claims reality shows ‘flatline’ acting careers

OHMYGOSSIP — Kacey Ainsworth claims doing ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has stalled some of her pals’ careers.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star believes the programme and other reality shows leave actors with fewer opportunities within the industry than they create, after “lots” of her friends blamed such series for “flatlining” their workload.
Quizzed on whether she would ever take part in the Latin and ballroom show if offered, she replied: “It’s a great programme but it does shut more doors than it opens and it’s crazy, because you wouldn’t think that, but it does.
“You wouldn’t get any roles. You’d get offered the next celebrity show and you’d end up doing ‘My Celebrity Dog’s Wotsits Are Bigger Than Your Celebrity Dog’s Wotsits’. Do you know what I mean? Unless you want to do musicals and stuff and no one’s ever seen you do anything like that before and you can sing, then that’s great.
“I only say that because I’ve had lots of friends who’ve been on it and they’ve all said to me that doing reality shows, not necessarily just ‘Strictly’, but doing reality shows has really flatlined their careers.”
While Kacey says it “doesn’t bother [her]” that she is always branded as an “ex-‘EastEnders'” star, she insists former ‘Coronation Street’ actresses such as Sarah Lancashire and Suranne Jones are not described as “ex-‘Corrie'” stars.
Speaking on the Series Linked TV podcast, she said: “It’s a funny thing about ‘EastEnders’, they don’t want you to leave there. You can get away with it if you come from ‘Corrie’. So Sarah Lancashire, Suranne Jones, they never put ex-‘Corrie’.
“But people like myself and Tracy-Ann Oberman who’ve left ‘EastEnders’ and created extensive careers outside, we’re always with that moniker. But it doesn’t bother me that much.”
The 50-year-old actress is best known for playing ‘Little’ Mo Slater on the BBC Soap from 2000 to 2006, for which she scooped a National Television Award and won two British Soap Awards.
She has since appeared in ‘Call the Midwife’, ‘Casualty’ and now stars as Cathy Keating in ‘Grantchester’.

Virgil Abloh’s harnesses are ‘keystone’ pieces

OHMYGOSSIP — Virgil Abloh’s harnesses are the “keystone” of his new Louis Vuitton collection.
The 38-year-old creative director’s “mid-layer” garments have been seen on Timothee Chalamet at the Golden Globe Awards and Michael B. Jordan at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, and the designer believes the eye-catching pieces are very “empowering”.
He said: “It was the actual very first thing I designed.
“I wore it to the Met Gala. . . . It doesn’t have the comfort or the security of a jacket, but it’s somehow empowering.”
Virgil viewed his pre-fall collection, including the harnesses, as a “safe haven” to experiment with some new ideas.
He told Vogue.com: “I see and understand the vitality of clothes that people actually wear.
“The pre-collection was a safe haven to test out ideas, to start defining that palette.”
Although the harness style vest features heavily in his pre-fall range, Virgil’s real focus for the brand is staple pieces, and so he is launching a standalone capsule collection called Staples Edition which will feature essential items such as camel coats, classic suits and jean jackets.
He said: “It’s clothing that you wear and don’t think twice about, it’s letting the savoir faire and the quality be the main signifiers and reasons to purchase.”

Sofia Vergara launches affordable denim line with Walmart

OHMYGOSSIP — Sofia Vergara has launched an affordable denim line with Walmart.
The 48-year-old actress’ online-only collection for the retail giant includes almost 100 items such as jeans, denim jackets and graphic tees, in sizes ranging from 0-20, and each piece in the budget range costs $40 or less.
The ‘Modern Family’ star admitted that although she has “access to a lot of things”, she was inspired to create a reasonably-priced fashion line as “every woman owns [jeans] in 2019” and she wanted to see what she could create at a lower price.
Speaking to PopSugar, she said:”I love fashion, I love jeans, I love women. I like buying clothes and I have access to a lot of things, but I have always imagined what I could create at a lower price than what I already buy.
“I wanted to create a jean line because I think it’s one of the most important pieces of clothing every woman owns in 2019.
“I don’t know anyone who doesn’t own a pair of jeans. My mom is 70 and she wears jeans, my niece is 26 and wears jeans.”
The ‘Hot Pursuit’ actress explained that she chose to collaborate with the supermarket chain as she wanted to get her product “out there” and insisted that since her clothing came back from production, she hasn’t stopped wearing her jeans.
She explained: “I needed a retailer like Walmart to get it out there and I think we did a great job with the line.
“Since the moment the jeans came back from production, I’ve been wearing them! It makes me really proud to see them on the models. They are of all sizes and they all look so amazing.”

Gigi Hadid’s natural Reebok deisgns

OHMYGOSSIP — Gigi Hadid’s Reebok designs came “naturally” to her.
The 23-year-old model has teamed up with the sportswear giant to create a limited edition collection of cropped jackets, track pants, and sports bras, which all feature a 1980s-inspired colour scheme, and the blonde beauty was keen for the athleisure range to be comfortable but “fashionable”.
Speaking to Harpers Bazaar Australia about her collaboration, Gigi said: “Everyone knows if there’s one style that comes naturally to me it’s athleisure, and that really came through in designing.
“It was important to me that you can look great in the pieces, but that they were really made to work out in, to sweat in–so you can look cute but you can go to the gym and work out in them correctly.
“It’s like with this ‘dad shoe’ trend: you can spend $1000 on a pair of sneakers that aren’t healthy for your foot to go to the gym in. So with the Aztreks, for example, I wanted to create a shoe that will support your foot but also be fashionable.”
The ‘Reebok x Gigi Hadid’ collection was released on Tuesday (05.02.19) morning and Gigi designing the range and having some important faces from her past there to help launch it was a dream come true.
She wrote: “Designing my first athleisure collection for @Reebok @ReebokClassics was everything I’d hoped. Growing up, sports played such a big part in my life, and many of the lessons I learned as an athlete have been true guides for me in my personal and professional life.
“Today, two of my high school volleyball coaches have come across the country to NYC to help me launch this first #REEBOKxGIGI collection with a day on the court.
“This amazing collision of worlds is the epitome of what this collection means to me and I really hope you love wearing it in and out of the gym. It’s made for play !!!!!!!!!!!! With love. xG (Full collection available tomorrow 2/5 online reebok.co/gigi_collection and in select stores worldwide) (sic)”

Michelle Williams wants to star in a Dawson’s Creek reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Williams is keen to star in a ‘Dawson’s Creek’ reboot.
The 38-year-old actress – who played the part of Jen Lindley in the hit TV show – has revealed she is eager to return to the series, although she admitted that her character’s death will make a comeback tricky.
Asked about the possibility of rebooting ‘Dawson’s Creek’ – which also starred the likes of James Van Der Beek and Katie Holmes – Michelle said: “I’m like ‘Why not?’ Although, my character died, so I would have to be a ghost.”
The popular teen drama ran from 1998 to 2003, and helped to launch Michelle’s career in Hollywood.
Katie, 40, has also previously expressed an interest in reviving ‘Dawson’s Creek’, although she admitted there hasn’t every been “any serious discussions” about the possibility.
Asked whether she would be interested in a reboot, she shared: “Yeah, I mean it was a wonderful experience – it would be great to try to capture that again.”
By contrast, series creator Kevin Williamson has admitted it’s not an idea he’s especially keen to explore.
He also downplayed the possibility of it ever happening, saying the show’s ending in 2003 has “put a button on it”.
Asked about a potential reboot, Kevin explained: “What would we do?
“One of the reasons we did the finale five years in the future was to put a button on it. What would a reunion be? What would that look like? Why would you? I don’t see it and I don’t feel it.
“The finale was such a beautiful moment in time and the show was always meant to be a nostalgia piece. Let it stay there and live in its nostalgia and its nostalgic universe.”

“It’s nice to be in a meeting with a bunch of men who are terrified of me. I’m in control and I like that feeling. And for the girls that work with me on the show, I’m telling them ‘You can have a nightlife later. But for right now, you’re working.’ Because I only speak on the things I’ve lived through.
