OHMYGOSSIP — Joanna Lumley always felt like she was about to “lose [her] mind” whilst waiting to find out if she’d won an award for her acting.
The 72-year-old actress hosts the BAFTAs on Sunday (10.02.19), and after scooping three honours and the BAFTA TV Fellowship in the past, she knows how the shortlisted nominees will be feeling when they wait to find out who has successfully been chosen to receive a prize for their work.
She said: “You almost lose your mind, trying to sit calmly and put on a smile to show you don’t care if you win or lose. Inside, your heart is absolutely drumming.”
When she won her first BAFTA for her work on ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ in 1993, Joanna admits she just wasn’t expecting her performance as champagne swilling socialite Patsy Stone.
She said: “It really knocked me sideways. It was completely overwhelming. To be recognised by your peers for such a funny and thrilling show, written by the ineffable Jennifer Saunders, was just wonderful. I went as cold as ice. I felt quite calm walking up [to collect it] but I was so shocked. It was like a walk of death. The first cut is the deepest. Nothing matches that.”
The former ‘New Avengers’ actress keeps her awards “around the house” but they’re not all on display.
She said: “Sometimes on a bookshelf or upstairs or around the place.
“Some I have to keep in a cupboard because they are quite a lot.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Ken Dodd’s entire £27.5 million fortune has gone to his wife Anne.
The iconic comedian died last year at the age of 90 at his home in Liverpool – the same house in which he grew up – just two days after he tied the knot with Anne, 77, his partner of 40 years.
Ken had not made a will but their marriage ensured his fortune went to Anne and saved her a 40 per cent inheritance tax bill, according to The Sun.
Anne previously revealed Ken taught her that she’ll always feel his presence beyond the grave.
Anne said: “Ken had a wonderful life, I just didn’t want it to end. He used to say to people who told him they have lost a loved one, ‘you haven’t lost them, they’ll always be with you’, tapping his heart. And I keep telling myself that.”
Anne said she had been left overwhelmed by the “outpouring of love” for Ken and the support she received since her husband passed away.
She said: “Ken had more ideas and things to do I know. But the outpouring of love and admiration for Ken from the whole country has been overwhelming.
“There’s a mountain of flowers outside the house, full of heartfelt messages. We’ve had sackfuls of mail and all the cards are being opened.
“They include amazing messages and letters of comfort, which I shall be able to read properly when everything has settled down.”
The ‘Diddy Men’ creator was born the son of a coal merchant in 1927 in the Liverpool suburb of Knotty Ash.
Ken began a career as a comedian in 1954, working in music halls, and achieved national fame and popularity by the 60s.
His recording of ‘Tears’, was the UK’s third-best-selling single back then, rivalling The Beatles, and he made it into the Guinness Book of Records for telling 1,500 jokes in three and a half hours.
The comic was a regular face on television throughout the 70s and 80s and became an OBE in 1982.
He received his knighthood in the New Year Honours in 2017.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins is furious with trolls who have targeted her ‘Dancing On Ice’ partner Matt Evers.
The former ‘TOWIE’ star revealed her partner has been left “upset” by nasty comments about their performances and she took to social media to hit back.
Gemma wrote on Instagram: “MY ROCK @themattevers ….. against all odds and very nasty comments we are spreading LOVE️ and overcoming …. we have really been on a special journey together.
“Here’s to the Belero LIGHT AND LOVE ALWAYS. And just for all you sad little trolls…. who have an unhappy existence… unless you can do it then 01 21 DO ONE.
“We are happy and positive and living out best life. IT’S CALLED @dancingonice NOT LIFTS on ice or jumps on ice.”
“I bring the fun to the show… ask yourself this… can you do it (sic).”
And Gemma vowed to “expose” the trolls who have been upsetting Matt.
She wrote: “I WILL not let @themattevers be BULLIED anymore by the trolls he is very upset by what he is putting up with.
“We are keeping a record of everyone’s social media accounts and WE WILL BE EXPOSING you.
“You’ve all seen the show when your trolls get confronted IT COULD BE YOU (sic).”

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Philip has voluntarily surrendered his driving licence.
The 97-year-old royal has taken the decision after he was involved in a road collision in Norfolk on January 17, when the Land Rover Freelander that he was driving collided with another vehicle.
Prince Philip’s car flipped over in the crash and he had to be rescued by a passing motorist.
The driver of the other vehicle, Emma Fairweather, suffered a broken wrist in the crash, but her nine-month-old baby boy – who was also in the car – did not suffer any serious injuries.
Following the collision, Prince Philip wrote a letter of apology to Emma.
The royal – who has been married to Queen Elizabeth II since 1947 – wrote: “I would like you to know how very sorry I am for my part in the accident at the Babingley cross-roads.”
Prince Philip subsequently explained that bright sunlight made it difficult for him to see her car.
He also insisted that under “normal conditions”, the accident wouldn’t have happened.
He continued: “I have been across that crossing any number of times and I know very well the amount of traffic that uses that main road. It was a bright sunny day and about three in the afternoon, the sun was low over the Wash. In other words, the sun was shining low over the main road.
“In normal conditions I would have no difficulty in seeing traffic coming from the Dersingham direction, but I can only imagine that I failed to see the car coming, and I am very contrite about the consequences.”
He also apologised for Emma’s injury.
He wrote: “I was somewhat shaken after the accident, but I was greatly relieved that none of you were seriously injured. As a crowd was beginning to gather, I was advised to return to Sandringham House by a local Police Officer. I have since learned that you suffered a broken arm. I am deeply sorry about this injury.
“I wish you a speedy recovery from a very distressing experience.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Azalea has chosen 20 of her fans to star in her upcoming music video.
The 28-year-old rap star previously revealed she was on the lookout for fans to appear in her latest video, and Iggy has now revealed, via her Twitter account, that she’s managed to select the “awesome people” who will be making cameo appearances.
She wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “Hey everyone who sent in their info for our extras casting, be on the look out Monday for an email confirming you.
“It been so hard to pick only 20 out of hundreds of awesome people. Thanks to everyone that offered your time & support! (sic)”
Iggy launched her plan to recruit fans as extras in January.
At the time, she explained to her Twitter followers: “Hi. Calling all fabulous Atlanta residents, please help!
“I am looking for 20 people who can serve me any of the following looks to volunteer yourself as an extra in my next music video.
“School girls, mean girls in mourning, book worms, boys who can strut, masculine jocks, cheerleaders, crocodile tears, southern charm Derby Day realness. (sic)”
Iggy – who is one of the world’s best-selling rap stars – also explained that she was seeking to unearth some “rich b***hes, men in suits, stunt queens, fashion funeral attendants”.
The rapper told fans that they needed to send their applications by February 1 – although she insisted they must “live in the Atlanta area”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman thinks audience “demand” led to a second season of ‘Big Little Lies’.
The Oscar-winning actress stars in the acclaimed HBO series, and she’s claimed that the global reaction to the first season of the show meant that a follow-up became inevitable.
She shared: “We all said goodbye, but we became very close, had such a good time doing it and the desire to spend more time together was a huge part of it, but there was an enormous demand from the audience.
“I’ve never been in something that reached so far globally, that was such a compelling idea in terms of putting it together again … but it was generated by the audience.”
Nicole, 51 – who stars on the show alongside the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley – thinks it’s difficult to compare seasons one and two of ‘Big Little Lies’.
However, the acclaimed actress reassured fans that the second season has been made with the same level of “love” as season one.
She said: “I will say not to compare it to the first one … it is its own entity and hopefully, it will be taken in that way. It was definitely made with an enormous amount of love.”
Meanwhile, Nicole previously described working on ‘Big Little Lies’ as a “sacred gift”.
The Hollywood star admitted she relished the experience of working with so many talented women on the popular TV series.
She explained: “I like working with women – for years, I’ve worked to support women in all fields. I believe in sisterhood.
“I learned so much from having a feminist mother who fought for our rights in the 1960s and as always been involved in social work. We are sisters in the world and we have to support each other.
“To work with such strong women is a sacred gift.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe would be “pleasantly surprised” if there was an afterlife.
The 29-year-old actor stars as a low-level angel in the comedy series ‘Miracle Workers’, but Daniel has admitted he doesn’t actually believe in a God.
He shared: “I personally am agnostic leaning toward atheism.
“I don’t expect there to be a God and an afterlife – I would be pleasantly surprised if there was.”
Despite this, Daniel – who remains best-known for starring in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise – admitted his attitude towards religion has mellowed over time.
He told the New York Post newspaper: “There was a time when I was in my teens when I was kind of irritatingly belligerent about atheism.
“And I’m just not anymore. I’ve had too many friends for whom their faith has really helped them at hard times in their life.
“I’m fully aware that religion is a huge part of a lot of people’s lives. Everyone can believe whatever they want, as long as it’s not hurting anyone and as long as you don’t think that gives you the right to tell someone else how they can live their life.”
Meanwhile, Daniel recently admitted he is obsessed with ‘The Bachelor’.
The actor revealed that the popular TV series is one of his secret passions.
Asked to name his current pop culture obsession, Daniel said: “‘The Bachelor’ I’m doing a lot of.
“I say this to people and they seem surprised. I would also like to say I used to be like one of those guys who was like, ‘Yeah, my girlfriends make me watch it.’ It’s not – I’m making the choice. It’s me week after week.”

The 21-year-old make-up mogul has revealed her unusual dietary habits via her Instagram account, admitting that she’s recently developed an obsession with three foods that she’s been eating for breakfast.
Kylie – who has 12-month-old daughter Stormi with rapper Travis Scott – has posted photographs of her tasty-looking morning routine on her Instagram Story.
In one particular snap, the brunette beauty zoomed-in on the sliced avocado, as well as the peppered scrambled eggs and some slices of turkey bacon.
Kylie also posted a snap of herself with a bottle of Gingerade kombucha, a drink that’s rich in probiotics.
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty was recently rumoured to have become engaged to Travis, and the rap star has admitted he’d love to marry Kylie “soon”.
Travis also described Kylie as the “coolest motherf***er of all time”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Bette Midler has praised Ariana Grande amid her row with Grammys boss Ken Ehrlich.
The chart-topping pop star – who has rejected an invitation to sing at the annual awards bash – slammed Ken on Twitter earlier this week after he accused Ariana of struggling to put a performance together for the show.
In response to the accusation, Ariana wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “i’ve kept my mouth shut but now you’re lying about me. i can pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken. it was when my creativity & self expression was stifled by you, that i decided not to attend. i hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more. [love heart emoji] (sic)”
And Bette has now praised Ariana for “standing up for herself”.
She wrote on Twitter: “Wildest applause to Ariana for standing up for herself and refusing to be intimidated by lies. (sic)”
Ariana, 25 – who has just released her latest album, ‘Thank U, Next’ – has thanked Bette for her support.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gigi Hadid thinks the poor health of her close family has made her “very independent”.
The 23-year-old model claims to have become more resilient because of her sister Bella, mother Yolanda and brother Anwar’s struggles with Lyme disease, the energy-sapping infection that can be spread by infected ticks.
She explained: “Growing up, having three of my family members sick made me very independent. My mom couldn’t drive or get out of bed some days, so I took my brother to school with me, or I made lunch.”
On the other hand, Gigi also admitted to experiencing feelings of “guilt” because of the health struggles of her close family.
The catwalk star told Elle magazine: “I also felt a lot of guilt for being the one person in the family who didn’t understand what they were going through.
“It’s hard when your whole family is in pain and you don’t know what to do.”
Similarly, Gigi previously admitted she couldn’t really relate to the struggles of her mother, sister and brother.
The blonde beauty said she wanted to provide “hope” for her family, even though she cannot empathise with their day-to-day fears.
Gigi – who, like her sister Bella, is one of the world’s best-known models – explained: “I’m the only one in, of my siblings, my mom and my family that hasn’t been affected by Lyme disease.
“It’s been really hard for me because I’m the only one that doesn’t really understand it.
“What’s been hardest for me is just trying to find a way to be their hope and kind of be a strength for them even with the disease that I can’t understand fully because I haven’t been through it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kiki Layne felt like an “idiot” when she first moved to Los Angeles.
The 27-year-old actress relocated to the city in order to follow her dreams of becoming a Hollywood star, but after she initially struggled to find work, Kiki started to question the wisdom of making the switch.
The ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ star – who is from Cincinnati, Ohio – shared: “I felt so discouraged being in LA that I was wondering whether to go home.
“I felt like an idiot moving without money or representation.”
Despite her talent, Kiki would also frequently question her own acting ability.
She told Marie Claire: “Thankfully, everyone was patient, even when I was nervous. I knew there would be things I didn’t understand, and that I may have to do something three times, while someone else only did it once.”
Kiki revealed that in spite of her recent success, she’s trying her best to remain grounded.
In fact, the actress insisted she still doesn’t see herself as being a star.
She said: “My friends are always messing with me like, ‘KiKi you’re famous now’, but I don’t feel it.
“It’s interesting to slowly see my life shifting, and I’m thankful that, yes, it’s happening fast, but not so fast that I’m getting lost. I’m still able to find my footing on each level. I’m soaking it all up while I can.”
Meanwhile, KiKi recently sparked a mini-controversy when she discussed her dream of playing the weather-controlling superhero Storm in an ‘X-Men’ movie.
Alexandra Shipp, who played Storm in the last ‘X-Men’ movie, opted to sidestep the comments, and Kiki was surprised by the controversy.
Reflecting on the incident, she shared: “I was like: ‘Whoa. OK, that escalated quickly.’
“But playing Storm is something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little girl. I’m not going to ever feel bad about sharing what my dreams are.”

OHMYGOSSIP — A statue of David Beckham is to be unveiled outside LA Galaxy’s stadium in March.
The retired soccer star played for the American team for six years after joining them in 2007, and his efforts are to be recognised with the construction of a statue at Dignity Health Sports Park.
The statue is to be officially unveiled on March 2, when the Galaxy will host their first game of the new MLS season.
Beckham, 43 – who also played for the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid during his career – helped the Galaxy to win back-to-back MLS Cups in 2011 and 2012, before retiring from the sport in 2013.
Since then, Beckham has pursued a variety of other interests, including making cameo appearances in ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ and ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’.
However, in January, it was announced that Beckham is set to buy a 10 percent stake in Salford City Football Club.
The former England captain – who joined his former Manchester United teammates Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt by investing in Salford – said: “It is a really special club with a special group of people. My early years in Manchester were all spent in Salford. I grew up there in many ways so to be able to finally join the lads and the club today is a great feeling.
“Salford City has achieved so much success in a short space of time, the fans are incredible and I’m really excited to be spending more time in Salford again.”
Beckham is a close friend of his Salford City co-owners, having played alongside them since his teenage years.

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne enjoyed a surprise TV reunion with ex-girlfriend Cheryl on ‘The Greatest Dancer’ on Saturday (09.02.19).
The 25-year-old singer and Cheryl – who split in 2018 – showed that there’s no lingering bitterness between them as they made light of their separation on the BBC show.
Cheryl, 35 – who has a 22-month-old son called Bear with the pop star – invited him to appear in a pre-recorded video message during the show, answering a call from Liam during her act Frobacks’ performance.
Liam sarcastically said: “Chez, can you put the Frobacks on, please?”
Cheryl – who serves as a dance captain on the TV show – rolled her eyes at the request, before turning her phone to face the stage.
Liam continued: “Hey man, you guys are killing it.
“I’d love you teach me those tricks some time, so make sure you get my number off Chez, OK?”
In January, Cheryl revealed that she and Liam spent Christmas together.
The brunette beauty also explained that in spite of their split, they still have a “great” relationship.
She said: “There’s no animosity whatsoever. In fact, Liam spent Christmas Day with us. He cooked the turkey and everything at our home. His family came on the 23rd, and then he was in the house before I woke up on Christmas Day.
“It was lovely and things with us are great, which is lucky, really, because I have to listen to his songs 55,000 times a day. Bear’s got an obsession with the beginning of ‘Familiar’. We have to rewind it and play it all over again.”
Cheryl also insisted she’s not currently looking for love, although she’s keen to find a new boyfriend “at some stage”.
She confessed: “Not right now necessarily but at some stage. It doesn’t matter what they do, so long as he was a good guy and treated me right. I honestly wouldn’t care.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Aston Merrygold’s baby son will be best man at his wedding.
The former JLS singer got engaged to Sarah Richards in December 2017 – just weeks before they welcomed little Greyson into the world – and he’s determined the 12-month-old tot will play a big part in their big day.
Asked if the toddler will have a role in the wedding, he told OK! magazine: “A hundred percent. Mum says he’ll have the same suit as me.
“He’ll be walking by that time and he’ll be my best man.”
However, the 30-year-old star admitted he and his bride-to-be have done very little towards planning their wedding because they get “distracted” so easily.
He joked: “We try and sit down and plan it but something always comes up and we get distracted. Right now we’re saying, let’s just go to Vegas and do it.
“We’ve got a rough idea of what we like and what we want but now we have to book it. Any wedding planner would be disappointed in what we’ve done.”
Though the couple keep joking about eloping to Las Vegas, Aston admitted they don’t really want to go to Sin City as they’d rather tie the knot at home.
He added: “We’d love to have it here, that would be the ideal.
“We’ve joked a few times, ‘Let’s go to Vegas and do it and then come back and have a party with everyone.’ At times it does seem a real possibility.”
Since becoming a father, Aston thinks his relationship has changed for the better.
Asked how parenthood has affected their relationship, he replied: “For the better. There are three of us now, full family – not that it wasn’t before but we don’t just have each other now.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rochelle Humes used to feel “pressured” to look a certain way.
The 29-year-old singer and presenter – who has daughters Alaia-Mai, five, and Valentina, 23 months, with husband Marvin Humes – says she has felt “judged” about all aspects of her appearance over the years.
She admitted: “In the past, like everyone else, I’ve felt judged and pressured to look a certain way, whether it’s regarding my weight or having straight hair.”
In recent years, Rochelle has embraced her natural curls because she wants her daughters to be comfortable with their own locks, but she admitted doing so required having to “start all over again” because her tresses were in bad condition due to years of straightening treatments.
She said: “I spent so many years straightening my hair that when I wanted it to be curly again, it said, ‘No, no!’.
“After years of me being so unkind to my curls, I had to cut off lots of dead hair and start all over again.”
Even when she was a child, the former Saturdays singer was desperate for straight hair.
She added: “Growing up, my only hair hero was Scary Spice and in the playground playing Spice Girls, I was always Scary Spice, even when I wanted to be Baby. I was desperate for straight her.”
But these days, Rochelle finds embracing her curls has been “liberating”.
Speaking to Grazia magazine, she said: “[At the NTAs] everyone was dashing out of the rain trying to shelter while I was loving it for my curls.
“I love the humidity on holiday too. Embracing my curls has been really liberating.”
