Rory Reid disappointed by Matt LeBlanc’s Top Gear exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Rory Reid was “disappointed” about Matt LeBlanc’s ‘Top Gear’ exit.
The TV star – who will be hosting spin-off show ‘Extra Gear’ after the ‘Friends’ actor’s departure sparked a reshuffle for the upcoming series – has said it’s a shame they couldn’t carry on after building a relationship on-air alongside Chris Harris.
He told Digital Spy: “From a selfish point of view, I think it’s disappointing that we weren’t able to continue what we worked on over the last three years.
“We had a good thing going, but you know things happen. We move on.”
Matt’s exit has seen Rory bumped off the main show, with ‘Take Me Out’ comedian Paddy McGuinness and Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff joining racing star Chris for the new run.
Rory also revealed the crew weren’t told about the departing host’s decision to leave while they were working on the 26th season.
He added: “We didn’t have any of that over our heads. I heard at a very similar time to everyone else.
“My reaction was… first of all I got a call from Matt, and Matt told me that he wasn’t going to come back.
“And he has his reasons for wanting to pursue… to be closer to his family. As a father myself, I completely understand his point of view.”
‘Top Gear’ will be back on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer on Sunday, February 17, and it was recently revealed that Flintoff crashed his car into a market stall during filming.
A source said: “Thankfully, no one was hurt and the crash didn’t stop the show from filming.
A BBC studios spokesman said: “During filming in Mansfield town centre, which had been closed off to members of the public for health and safety reasons, Freddie’s electric car struck an unmanned, un-stocked market stall.
“Neither he nor anyone else was hurt and filming completed as planned.”

Demon Headmaster excited for reboot but won’t be returning

OHMYGOSSIP — The original ‘Demon Headmaster’ star Terrence Hardiman is excited for the reboot.
The CBBC classic is being revived for a whole new audience two decades after it was last on air, and the show’s leading man – who played the terrifying and hypnotic schoolmaster – has confirmed he won’t be reprising his role.
The 81-year-old actor told RadioTimes.com: “I have happy memories of working in The Demon Headmaster in the nineties, and I wish every success to the new production. I expect to be totally hypnotised.”
Instead of recasting from the original show, the highly anticipated reboot will see a new headteacher – now referred to as a Super Head – wreak terror on a brand new school.
Set in an Academy School, the new series will be based on Gillian Cross’ 2017 novel ‘The Demon Headmaster: Total Control’.
However, reviews can have confidence in the revival seeing as Cross was the author behind the books which were adapted for the original series.
A BBC rep added that while there’ll be “a few treats for fans who grew up with the original how,” the new programme will be “primarily aimed at new viewers”.
The show first aired in 1996, with two series coming that year before a third and final run hit the small screen in 1998.
Hardiman – who has also appeared in the likes of ‘The Worst Witch’, ‘Jonathan Creek’ and ‘Doctor Who’ – has previously opened up about a revival of the show, and admitted he had thought about how a whole new generation of viewers would react to the character.
He said: “I have very happy memories of working on ‘The Demon Headmaster’. And what fun to play such a megalomaniac!
“[Fans’] most frequent question was, ‘How did you do that with your eyes?’ I wonder how a new generation will react.”

Patrick Stewart claims Bryan Singer is ‘looking for power’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Patrick Stewart thinks Bryan Singer is “looking for power”.
The 78-year-old actor has worked with the director – who was fired from ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ in December 2017 and has denied accusations of sexual misconduct – on five ‘X-Men’ movies and believes the “horrible” filmmaker seeks out “control over other people”.
Speaking of the director in an interview with the Daily Telegraph newspaper, the ‘Star Trek’ actor said: “This sense of…looking for power, when you’ve already got it and you don’t actually need it… Looking for control over other people, who you can dominate – it’s horrible.”
Rami Malek recently admitted working with Bryan on ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was “not pleasant” and it has been claimed the director would often be absent from set, and Patrick confirmed he had experienced similar issues shooting with the 53-year-old filmmaker.
Patrick continued: “I’ve experienced that too with him. There have been problems in the past.”
When asked if Bryan would often be absent on key days, Patrick continued: “Yeah. Or turning up and not shooting.
“It was very difficult. We got through that. He’s such a talented individual in the would of making movies – and, it would appear, extremely untalented and cruel in other respects.
“And it makes me profoundly sad for potential victims, or possible victims, as well as Bryan himself.
“Most of the experience with Bryan I really enjoyed. But what is happening is so good.”
Bryan was fired from ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and replaced by Dexter Fletcher, however, still has the directing credit on the film.
Speaking of the director, Rami, 37, previously said: “In my situation with Bryan, it was not pleasant, not at all. And that’s about what I can say about it at this point.
“For anyone who is seeking any solace in all of this, Bryan Singer was fired. Bryan Singer was fired, I don’t think that was something anyone saw coming but I think that had to happen and it did.”

As well as Huston, the 1990 movie featured Rowan Atkinson, Jane Horrocks and Brenda Blethyn.

Eli Roth to return to horror directing

OHMYGOSSIP — Eli Roth is set to return to horror directing.
The 46-year-old director is most closely associated with the genre after rising to fame with the 2002 horror-comedy ‘Cabin Fever’ and the 2005 gore fest ‘Hostel’, however, the filmmaker recently added some variety to his filmography with his 2018 remake of the action-revenge movie ‘Death Wish’ and family friendly fantasy flick ‘The House with a Clock in Its Walls’.
Despite his break from the genre, Eli is reportedly working on an untitled horror project for Miramax with his friend and ‘Cabin Fever’ co-writer Jeff Rendell and Principle photography on the project will begin in Massachusetts next month.
On Instagram, Production Weekly wrote: “Updated production schedule for Eli Roth’s upcoming horror project, Roth directs from a script he wrote with Jeff Rendell (Cabin Fever). Principle photography in Massachusetts begins later next month.”
Jeff helped pen and starred in Eli’s fake trailer titled ‘Thanksgiving’ for the 2007 slasher flick ‘Grindhouse’ which saw Jeff as a killer who stalks victims while dressed as a pilgrim and Jordan Ladd, Jay Hernandez and Eli himself as his intended victims, leading to speculation that the upcoming project could be a feature-length expansion of the trailer.
The ‘Inglorious Bastards’ director noted during an AMA session over on Reddit in 2016 that he is planning on creating ‘Thanksgiving’ the movie, however, wanted to put “more work” into the script so it lives up to high expectations following the false trailer.
She wrote: “Have a draft not totally happy with. I want to put some more work into it so the film lives up to the trailer. We have the story and mythology cracked so now it’s about getting the kills right.”

Rebecca Ferguson wants to sneak into a Greatest Showman sing-along

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebecca Ferguson wants to “sneak in” to a ‘Greatest Showman’ sing-along and join in with fans.
The 35-year-old actress plays famous Swedish singer in director Michael Gracey’s hit musical movie which is inspired by the life of P. T. Barnum, the American businessman who founded the Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Ferguson is well aware the movie’s popularity has been boosted by the soundtrack – which has become a number one album all over the world – and sing-along screenings and she is desperate to “go in anonymously” and witness an audience’s reaction first hand.
In an interview with the Metro newspaper, she said: “I’m not kidding. I’d love to sneak into the Prince Charles [Theatre] and do a sing-along. I want to and I never have time.”
In the film, Ferguson’s character Jenny falls in love with Barnum, played by Hugh Jackman, as they tour together all over America and after he refuses her romantic advances she orchestrates a kiss from him at the end of her last show, a moment which prompts boos from cinema audiences.
Ferguson is enthralled with the idea of taking up a seat and jeering at herself on screen.
She said: “I’d go in anonymously and just see what they say. I know there’s one version where every time Jenny comes on, the crowd go, ‘Ooh saucy bitch!’ I love the idea that I’d be in the audience and boo myself.”

Felicity Jones only spoke in Brooklyn accent on new film

OHMYGOSSIP — Felicity Jones only spoke in a Brooklyn accent whilst filming ‘On The Basis Of Sex’.
The Oscar-nominated actress plays Ruth Bader Ginsburg – who is now Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States – in the upcoming legal drama, which follows her lifelong battle for gender equality in American legislation.
Jones has revealed that in preparation for her role she would only speak in a heavy American drawl on set, especially as Ginsburg had major involvement in the script development process because her nephew, Daniel Stiepleman, was writing the flick.
Speaking on BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on Wednesday morning (13.02.19), Jones said: “Stiepleman – who is a lovely chap – wrote the screenplay and he initially asked his aunt [Ginsburg], he was a little nervous asking his aunt because she is a formidable woman, and she said, ‘If that’s what you want to spend your time doing then go ahead.’
“She has a very distinct dry sense of humour which really comes out in the film and she has captured that and they have been on board from the beginning and Ruth has seen all the drafts, like the good lawyer that she is and she gave meticulous notes throughout the process of developing the script. I was a crazy person. They were thinking who is this Brit who has come along with her Brooklyn accent all day. I definitely challenged in many ways being an outsider, I was a Brit going in to that situation, and like Ruth herself, she was an outsider consistently, trying to enter a world that was very male dominated. So really had to push against that to prove herself. I channelled that in the way I played her and focused on her drive.”
‘The Theory of Everything’ actress also confessed she has “weird idiosyncrasies” to help make her first day on set “bearable”, including wearing her character’s shoes on the lead up to filming to help calm her nerves.
She added: “I have all sorts of weird Idiosyncrasies and rituals and so I try and think of all these things that make that first day more bearable, and I’ve developed all of these weird quirks along the way and one of them is wearing the shoes that you’re going to be wearing for the shoot, so you can get use to the feel of them.”

She told the team she was naïve to the Nazi crimes of the time despite working at the heart of their propaganda machine.

Speaking to People magazine, Avril – who was bedridden for two years due to her health – said: “When you go through something like that, you realise how fulfilling simple things are — things I could do anymore, like being able to get up in the morning and go to the kitchen and grab a cup of coffee.
“It taught me patience; it taught me being more present. That was a beautiful lesson.”
The 34-year-old star – who is “feeling pretty good” as she continues to manage her Lyme disease – also revealed how she turned to her faith at her time of need.
She added: “I’m a very spiritual person, and I definitely did turn to God during that experience.”

Andy Cohen praises incredible surrogate

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Cohen will be “forever indebted” to his surrogate.
The ‘Watch What Happens Live’ presenter became a first-time dad to son Benjamin earlier this month and he’s praised the “incredible” woman who gave him the “ultimate gift” of carrying the child for him.
He said: “[I] worked with an organisation that helps you find the egg donor and the surrogate, and you kind of package the whole process.
“I worked with an incredible surrogate. She was in California. Surrogacy is illegal in so many states, including New York. I don’t understand why. It’s a voluntary process, obviously.
“My surrogate just viewed it as, she was giving me the ultimate gift. She gave me life.
“So I’ll be forever indebted to her.”
The 50-year-old presenter was by his surrogate’s side when she delivered his son and “cut the umbilical cord” himself before getting to cuddle his newborn for the first time.
Andy recalled in an interview with People magazine: “I was in the delivery room. I had been hoping that he would have a full head of hair, and he really overdelivered.
“That was the first thing you see, the head of hair coming out. And I was amazed.
“He was so alert for the first two hours. His eyes were wide open. He didn’t cry; he was just calm. I kind of have no words for it.”
Andy announced that he was preparing for the arrival of his first child during an episode of his show in December, telling the audience it was something he’d been looking forward to his “entire life”.
Andy – who is the first openly gay host of an American late-night talk show – shared: “Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers, and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks’ time I am going to become a father.
“Thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future. Family means everything to me and having one of my own that I have wanted in my heart my entire life. And though it’s taken me longer than most to get there, I can’t wait for what I envision to be the most rewarding chapter yet.”

Gigi Hadid says boys found her ‘scary’ after volleyball games

OHMYGOSSIP — Gigi Hadid was less popular with boys in high school after they’d seen her play volleyball.
The 23-year-old model was captain of her high school volleyball team and considered pursuing a career in the sport, but admitted her male classmates found her “scary” after seeing her competitive side on the court.
Speaking on the ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, she said: “I was pretty good; you probably would have gotten scared of me on the court.
“You know guys would be like ‘Let’s go watch Gigi on the volleyball court.’ By the end of the game, they were like ‘She’s scary, I don’t think she’s cute anymore.”
The blonde beauty also admitted that she occasionally struggled to remain calm while competing in the sport and would be issued ultimatums by her coach in order to keep her temper at bay.
She explained: “Like my coach, we’d have to have some clam downs like ‘You’re not gonna be able to start next game if I see you punch the ground once.’ I’d like get mad and get really into it. ”
The star insisted that it’s important for young girls to get involved in extracurricular activities which “inspire them” and make them want to improve themselves.
She said: “I played high school volleyball so intensely, went to junior Olympic qualifiers and it’s just something I think is so important for young girls to find that value in themselves in other things.
“In things that inspire them or things they wanna get better at and those for me were volleyball and horseback riding and art and those things, that you know that you’re great at and you love makes you feel like you have a future at them.”

BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker loves rivalry with Piers Morgan

OHMYGOSSIP — Dan Walker says he enjoys his spats with Piers Morgan.
The ‘BBC Breakfast’ host – who joked that the broadcaster is “obsessed” – has admitted he relishes the programme’s ratings rivalry with ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’.
In an interview on TV podcast Series Linked, Dan said: “It’s all good fun. I spent most of my life ignoring him (Piers) and he spends most his being obsessed with us!
“We have a very good relationship and we get on very well. I think it annoys him immensely that despite all the effort they put in and the drama and all the headlines and everything they create that they still get half our audience, but we have a very loyal audience on ‘BBC Breakfast’ and we’re very thankful for that.
“And I think it’s great that people have a real choice in the morning now. And that’s good.”
Despite the teasing jibes, Dan did have high praise for both Piers and his presenting partner Susanna Reid for the work they do.
He added: “And Susanna and Piers and everyone else in that programme, they do a great job and it’s a really watchable program. But we’re also really proud of what we do and I think the fact that so many people still choose to watch us in the morning is testament to that, and I think it’s great that viewers have got a good choice.”
He also had some kind words for his own co-host Louise Minchin, as he described her story as “very insprational”.
He said: “She’s brilliant. She’s a great person to work alongside. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know her, and working alongside her. She’s formidable. In a nice way. She blows my mind with what she does with triathlons, and she’s constantly jumping in river or cycling up a mountain or whatever she’s preparing for next. “Some representing UK in her age bracket. It’s just, I think it’s very inspirational for a lot of women particularly that Louise took up running and triathlon and now she’s traveling around the world every now and again and representing Britain in doing it.
“I think that’s a great story, and I think, actually, it’s had a big impact on all areas of her life, really, and I think she’s a great person to sit next to in the morning, and for three and quarter hours and see what’s happening in the world.”
It seems the pair also enjoy spending time together outside the studio.
Asked if they ever hang out off air, he added: “We’re actually hanging out this week. I think last time we went out, and very strange showbiz night. It was after the NTAs and we got a drink afterwards and sort of just wandered the streets for a bit and ended up buying some Scotch Eggs in a Tesco Extra. That is the way we roll on breakfast.”

She told Balance magazine: “I feel different in the sense that I just love it so much.
“She’s the love of my life and I don’t really have a word for it other than this brand new, all-encompassing feeling that…
“I guess it just feels really grounding and really beautiful. Absolutely I’ve been in love before, and this was definitely a very different new kind and new form, clearly.”
The 31-year-old actress – who came out in 2014 – is happy to share her married life on her social media profiles because she believes visibility is key to change.
She said: “We’re a married lesbian couple, and in a world that doesn’t have enough LGBTQ+ representation, you want to be visible.
“When I was in high school in grade 10, at least to my knowledge, not a single kid was out. I remember being 14 and stumbling across a movie like ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ on TV and how much that meant to me. What a tiny little moment between two characters and one thing said made me go ‘that’s kind of how I feel’.
“I don’t think the importance of seeing yourself reflected can be undervalued.”
The ‘Freeheld’ actress admitted she felt a huge difference “physically” after coming out.
She said: “I still feel like I’m just becoming able to be who I am and feel comfortable in my body. The difference I felt physically after coming out was just like… you’d have to feel it to believe it.”

Miranda Lambert ‘threw salad’ over woman

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Lambert reportedly threw her salad over a woman’s head during a heated exchange at a steakhouse on Sunday (10.02.19).
According to TMZ, the 35-year-old country singer was dining at the Nashville Stoney River Steakhouse with her mother, Beverly June Hughes, and a family friend, when a row broke out between them and a couple on a neighbouring table.
‘The House That Built Me’ songstress reportedly got into an argument with the couple after the older gentleman picked a fight with Miranda’s friend in the toilet after he made a comment about millennials and their smartphones, and after a heated exchange between the two groups, Miranda allegedly dumped her dinner in the woman’s lap.

Things eventually got so heated, Miranda allegedly threw her food.
Law enforcement were called to the restaurant following a call regarding two men fighting, however, by the time police arrived at the scene, Miranda and the other guests had left the scene and so the cops did not file a report over the incident.
The website have reached out to representatives of both Miranda and the restaurant’s head office to get their version of events but at the time of writing, neither party has commented on the alleged altercation.
