Channing Tatum was intimidated by cast of Magic Mike musical

OHMYGOSSIP — Channing Tatum felt “really intimidated” meeting the cast of ‘Magic Mike: The Musical’.
The 38-year-old actor – who starred as the titular male stripper in the 2012 comedy drama and its 2015 seqel ‘Magic Mike XXL’ – dropped by rehearsals for the upcoming Broadway adaptation, and he admitted he was nervous to meet the performers.
In a video he shared on YouTube, Channing said: “It’s not that I don’t want to go, I’m just really intimidated by them.
“Look, they’re so good. They’re like, literally the best at what they do and I know nothing about musicals!”
Following the success of the two films – which are loosely based on the Hollywood star’s own experiences of working as a stripper in Tampa, Florida – Channing created and co-directed ‘Magic Mike Live’, a striptease experience featuring dance routines and acrobatic stunts which has been hugely popular since opening at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in 2017, and is currently on at London’s Hippodrome Casino until October.
The upcoming musical – which will be based on the book being written by ‘Riverdale’ showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa – will have a slightly different story to it than the live shows.
Meanwhile, Channing previously admitted he didn’t feel body confident enough to perform as a stripper in the ‘Magic Mike Live’ stage show.
The actor felt insecure next to the ripped dancers in his show and admitted he would have to train very hard before even considering appearing shirtless on stage.
The ‘Dear John’ star admitted: “I love dancing and I love these guys and performing. But when you stand up there with your shirt off next to them with the way they look … I don’t work out on an everyday basis. I know everyone thinks I do but I do not. If I ever get in that shape again I will absolutely be in the show for a weekend or something.”

Daisy Goodwin disappointed about Victoria scheduling

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Goodwin is disappointed with ITV for using ‘Victoria’ as a “line of sandbags” against the BBC’s ‘Line of Duty’.
The 57-year-old screenwriter is unhappy that the network didn’t air her show before viewers in America were able to watch it in January, and claims the drama was used to rival the hit BBC series.
Writing in the Radio Times magazine, she said: “These Machiavellian types don’t care about the patriotic right of British Victoria fans to see their heroine first.
“It’s a dark art, scheduling, and it can be very demoralising for people who have dedicated themselves to making something special to realise that, for the scheduler, your carefully honed drama is nothing more than a line of sandbags against ‘Bodyguard 2’ or, in Victoria’s case, ‘Line of Duty’.”
Daisy thinks a number of UK fans may have already watched ‘Victoria’ “in ways that are possibly illegal but easy to master”.
The show – which covers the early life of Queen Victoria – first aired in 2016 and stars Jenna Coleman as a young Queen Victoria and Tom Hughes as Prince Albert.
And Daisy is hoping next year’s series will be moved in line with the US broadcast.
She said: “The next series of ‘Victoria’ will be the darkest yet.
“I hope that the gods of scheduling look favourably upon it and decide to put it out simultaneously with the US broadcast.”

Billie Eilish didn’t know Spice Girls were real

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish didn’t know the Spice Girls were a real band until two years ago.
The ‘Bad Guy’ singer saw the group’s 1998 movie ‘Spice World’ and thought Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Mel B and Mel C – aka Ginger, Baby, Posh, Scary and Baby – were playing characters and their songs featured in the film had been written as part of the soundtrack.
She admitted: “I thought ‘Spice World’, the movie about the Spice Girls, was a made-up movie about a group of girls who sang.
“And I thought all the music was written for the movie and I thought all the characters were cast for those character.
“I didn’t figure it out until two years ago.”
The 17-year-old singer – who wasn’t born until a year after the ‘Wannabe’ hitmakers had split up – admitted she didn’t really watch much television when she was growing up so there were other elements of pop culture that she wasn’t too clued up on.
Speaking on Capital FM, she admitted: “I didn’t have cable growing up so I didn’t really watch TV shows on a channel.
“I had DVDs of things and I just re-watched them.
“So I never saw ‘SpongeBob’ the show. I didn’t know it was a show, I thought it was only a movie.”
The ‘Bury A Friend’ singer previously admitted she thought the Spice Girls were “re-enacting” the film when she saw them in action.
She admitted last week: “I watched that movie like 40 times. I remember seeing Spice Girls and thinking, oh my god they’re re-enacting the movie.”

Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck reuniting for one night only

OHMYGOSSIP — Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck are reuniting for their “most in depth concert in over 35 years”.
The ‘Maggie May’ hitmaker was the vocalist of the first inception of The Jeff Beck Group, which was formed in 1967, featuring Jeff on lead guitar and Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood on rhythm guitar.
The group disbanded after just two years, releasing the albums ‘Truth’ in 1968 and ‘Beck-Ola’ a year later.
The pair haven’t performed together since 2009, when Rod surprised fans at Jeff’s show at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles to sing their cover of The Impressions’ hit ‘People Get Ready’, which they had recorded in 1985.
However, they will be back on stage “for one night only” on September 27 at Rod’s concert at The Hollywood Bowl.
A tweet on Rod’s Twitter account reads: “Rod Stewart and @jeffbeckmusic are back together for one night only!
The former bandmates reunite for their most in depth concert in over 35 years at Rod’s return to the @HollywoodBowl on September 27.
Tickets on sale Friday, April 12. http://livenation.com (sic)”
Commenting on their 2009 duet in his autobiography, Rod said: “It was really f***ing great.
“By the end Jeff, bless him, was in tears and we gave each other a big old hug.”
After the show there were talks of the pair getting into the studio to record a blues album.
Jeff said at the time: “I am mildly interested. But it would have to be a genuine effort – not a weekend blues album.”
The pair barely communicated after the idea failed to get off the ground.
However, last year, Rod, 74, admitted he would love to give it another go, though he admitted they had a “serious clash of egos” the last time they attempted to work together.
He said: “It would be a lovely thing to do.
“It’d be a complete lefthand turn. We did try it once, but we couldn’t see eye to eye — I mean, a serious clash of egos, but you know, never say never. I know it’s a cliché, but really, I’m up for it if he’s up for it. The thing is, we both want to produce. That’s the thing.”
Tickets for the Hollywood Bowl show go on sale on Friday (12.04.19) from Live Nation.

Bebe Rexha wants Rosalia and Billie Eilish collabs

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha is hoping to get BBC Music Sound Of 2019 poll runner-up Rosalía to collaborate with her.
The ‘I Got You’ hitmaker has revealed she sent the rising Spanish star a song to consider releasing, which she really liked, but didn’t “cut” because she always has to be involved with the process from start to finish, which Bebe admires.
The 29-year-old pop star also revealed that she is a huge fan of ‘Bury Your Friend’ hitmaker Billie Eilish.
Asked who her dream collaboration would be with, Bebe told David Olshanetsky and co-host Naledi Dube on the Spotify Original podcast ‘David’s Out For A Good Time’: “Rosalía, I’m obsessed with her, I think she’s a superstar.
“Her and Billie (Eilish). I Respect Rosalía a lot because I sent her a song that I wrote and I wanted to sing it to her and she was like, ‘Babe, this is a hit!’, but she wouldn’t cut it, she wants to be in the room and write with me.
“She wants to be a part of the writing process from start to finish and I really respect her for that.”
Bebe admitted that once she has released her music, she doesn’t like listening to it.
She said: “I love listening to my own music when I first write it, but when it is out I never want to listen to it again.”
The New Yorker also confessed that she would rather be sat at home watching Netflix than attending A-list parties.
Asked if she has ever felt out of place, she replied: “I feel like that during industry parties and I would rather just have my friends over, put on some Netflix and order food and just chill.”

Kerry Katona: My romance with Brian McFadden almost cost me my pop career

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona was almost “fired” from Atomic Kitten over her relationship with Brian McFadden.
The 38-year-old singer – who was joined in the group by Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon – received a huge backlash from fans when it emerged she was dating the then-Westlife star and she admitted record company pressure led to them thinking twice about their future together.
Writing in her New! magazine column, she said: “When Brian was in Westlife, I’d get pelted with bottles and sent death threats from fans who genuinely believed he belonged to them. The backlash was so bad, I nearly got fired from Atomic Kitten for dating him. “Simon Cowell, who was looking after Westlife at the time, hated me back then and when he found out we were seeing each other, he threw a magazine at Brian’s head. Even my bandmate Tash Hamilton turned against me and said she wasn’t going to lose her career because of me.”
The couple agreed to split up but later “secretly” got back together and went on to marry in 2002 but sadly split two years later.
Although they didn’t last, Kerry – who has daughters Molly, 17, and Lilly-Sue, 15, with Brian, as well as three other children from her subsequent two marriages – is still thankful they were able to come out of such a difficult time together.
She said: “I was heartbroken and Brian and I stopped seeing each other as a result [of the backlash]. But Brian was always persistent and obsessed with being with me – so much so it put me off at the very beginning – and we secretly got back together. Obviously it all turned out fine. I married him and won Simon round, but it was a difficult time.”

The 84-year-old actress portrayed the MI6 chief in seven 007 films before her character met her end in 2012’s ‘Skyfall’, and she has admitted that although she didn’t know much about the role before taking it on she accepted as her husband Michael Williams – who passed away in 2001 at the age of 65 – was “mad keen” for her to play the character.
She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “I didn’t know anything about M. I just thought the writing was really witty. My husband was mad keen that I should do it, so he could say he lived with a Bond woman.”
Judi has daughter Finty Williams, 47, with her late spouse and her actress daughter has a son Sam Williams, now 21.
The ‘Red Joan’ star went on to explain that it wasn’t just her husband who loved her playing M, her grandson was also very impressed and Judi would often tease her grandson’s friends by threatening to “lock them up”.

Judi added that her daughter Finty was once able to meet Pierce Brosnan – who played the suave spy in four films beginning in 1995’s ‘Goldeneye’ – and was so star-struck she “turned to rubber”.

Speaking at a CinemaCon luncheon, she said: “I’m somebody who believes that 90 per cent of the job is casting. I mean, I’m an actor so of course, I believe that [laughs]. But I really do believe that is key.
“I want to see Robert Downey Jr. play Tony Stark; I don’t want to see anyone else do it. I want to see Kristen Stewart be a Charlie’s Angel and I didn’t want to see [anyone else do it.]”
The ‘Hunger Games’ star went on to explain that she cast Ella, 22, and Naomi, 25, as she wants people Kristen, 29, could “bounce off” and insisted that the “dynamism” between the trio is what makes scenes “really fun”.
She said: “I wanted her to surprise people and be on a journey. I wanted to give her other Angels that were not anything like her so that she could pull energy from and bounce off of and work off of. Because it’s the dynamism in the scenes that makes her really fun.”
Shooting on the film wrapped up last year and the movie was originally handed a September 2019 release date, but the studio behind the project – Sony Pictures – subsequently decided to push the release back until November 1, 2019.

Reese Witherspoon: ‘I love brightly coloured lipstick’

OHMYGOSSIP — Reese Witherspoon “loves” bright coloured lipstick.
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star – who is one of Elizabeth Arden’s ‘storytellers-in-chief’ – has released an exclusive new shade of the brand’s Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick for their March On campaign in support of UN Women.
And the 43-year-old actress always keeps lipstick in her “purse” because it has a way of making her feel “empowered”.
She said: “I love bright coloured lipstick – I feel like it’s the perfect accessory, and I always have one in my purse.
“So when we were looking for a shade of pink that was expressive and positive and vibrant, the Pink Punch was perfect for our campaign. It’s a very empowering shade of pink.”
The ‘Cruel Intentions’ star – who has Ava, 19, Deacon, 15 with former spouse Ryan Phillippe and six-year-old Tennessee with her husband Jim Toth – explained that she has always instilled the importance of wearing sunscreen into her children because when she was younger, a make-up artist educated her about sun damage.
She told Britain’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “When I was a teenager I used to lay out in the sun and wear all kinds of tanning products, and when I was 18 years old a make-up artist on set said, ‘Oh my God, you can’t do that to your skin’.
“I didn’t understand, and she explained it to me that it’s actually damage when you’re getting tan and freckles – the kind of freckles that I get are actually sun damage – and so I started wearing sunscreen from then on. I made sure to pass that onto my kids. I’m all over them about sunscreen, I’m sure I drive them crazy.”
Reese finds it “incredible” to see such a “diverse spectrum” of individuals in fashion and beauty magazines because her daughter gets to have a “more representative” idea of what beauty is.
She added: “It’s a really incredible evolution that’s been going on. When I grew up reading fashion and beauty magazines there was always one standard of beauty, and now I feel glad that my daughter gets to see a more representative idea of what beauty is. When we were little, we were told that beauty only looked one way, and now we’re seeing that there’s a diverse spectrum.
“If something doesn’t make me feel good, or I only see one standard of beauty, I don’t have to look at that and follow that. I like to look at Instagram [accounts] that are inclusive, and representative of the whole dynamic expression of what women are.”

Celine Dion always ‘prepares’ her face

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion always cleanses her face before starting her beauty routine.
The 51-year-old singer – who has been named the new global face of L’Oréal Paris – has revealed that she “loves” doing her own make-up and admitted that the most “important” step is making sure her face is “well prepared” before she starts her coveted ritual.
She said: “I love doing my make-up, I love to play. I always start my beauty routine making sure my face is clean and well prepared. That is very important.
“Then I like to put a light concealer under the eyes to open up my gaze, a little bit of powder to fix it and a touch of a brow pencil to balance my face.
“As for the hair, I like the Excellence range and often use it for retouches. Actually my first ever beauty campaign with the brand will be about this product, so stay tuned!”
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker finds fashion exciting and loves being able to “take risks” in the style stakes.
She told Grazia Australia: Fashion excites me, it allows me to express myself and to be creative in a way that’s different from music. From one outfit to another, I can change my style, my persona every day. I love to play with fashion and I love to take risks. I have the strong belief that you can never go too big.”
And Celine wouldn’t turn back the clock if she has the opportunity because she is still “discovering” herself.
She continued: “I feel so good now that I don’t even want to think about my 20s or 30s, when I was still discovering myself. For the last couple of years, I have grown in a very strong and happy way through my passions, my work, friendship, motherhood.
“I am now embracing myself and feel free to do what I want, where I want, when I want. I am thankful to keep going, I’ve never felt so beautiful, strong, and I feel that the best is yet to come. Today is the beginning of the rest of my life and I don’t want to go back in time, I am going forward.”

Beverley Callard has ‘fantastic’ storylines coming up on Corrie

OHMYGOSSIP — Beverley Callard admits that her character has got “fantastic” storylines coming up in ‘Coronation Street’.
The soap legend – who first played Liz McDonald three decades ago – is still enjoying her time as the Rovers Return mainstay, and while she recently announced her role in new theatre show ‘The Thunder Girls’, she has dismissed speculation it means she is leaving the cobbles and said that her character has a lot of “fun” plots coming her way.
She told The Daily Star: “Coronation Street turns 60 next year and I really want to be there for that. I’m not going anywhere. I love it.
“There’s all sorts happening. I had to go and see my producer for a big meeting recently. It was supposed to be for about half an hour but I was in there for an hour and 20 minutes.
“The stories that are coming up for Liz are fantastic. There’s lots of drama , lots of comedy. So it should be good fun.”
Although Beverley – who is also appearing on stage in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ – normally has to snub other work offers because of ‘Corrie’ commitments, she has figured out an arrangement with soap bosses.
This year marks 30 years since 61-year-old Beverley’s first appearance on the cobbles, and she has admitted it’s “very scary” to look back and really think about how long it’s been.
She recently joked: “It’s very scary isn’t it? And the worst thing is I hate watching myself!
“30 good years though – and of course ‘Coronation Street’ is actually 60 next year, which is even better.”
Although she has enjoyed a varied career – including credits for the likes of ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ and ‘Loose Women’ – Beverley revealed she doesn’t mind that more fans seem to know her as Liz than any other role.
She admitted: “I love it because as you can imagine, we get recognised wherever we go. Liz is loved so I appreciated that greatly!”

John Legend taught to swim by Olympic athlete Ryan Lochte

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend has been learning to swim with the help of Olympic gold medallist Ryan Lochte.
The 40-year-old singer took to his Instagram story on Monday afternoon (08.14.19) to reveal that he’s has been taking lessons in his backyard pool from the 12-time Olympic medallist after admitting in January that he wasn’t proficient in the water.
The ‘All of Me’ hitmaker shared a video of himself swimming alongside the athlete while his two-year-old daughter Luna looked on alongside his wife Chrissy Teigen.
John was seen wearing a pair of blue swim trunks and goggles as he executed a freestyle swimming stroke, or front crawl.
The ‘Ordinary People’ singer first made the revelation on Twitter earlier this year confessing to his 12.4 million followers he “can’t really swim”.
He wrote: “I can’t really swim. Today I took my first swim lesson since I was like 5. My dad learned in his 60’s so I feel like I’m ahead of schedule.”
A fan then joked that he was lying on his song ‘All of Me’ because of the line: “My head’s under water/But I’m breathing fine.”
They quipped: “So what happened when your head was under water? Did you breathe fine? Was it all a lie?!”
John – who also has 11-month-old son Miles with his wife Chrissy – retweeted the post, and laughed: “All. Lies. Hahaha (sic).”
Some users were less than impressed, with one suggesting it’s not ideal that John doesn’t know how to swim properly because he many not be able to dive into his own pool if his children ever slipped in.
A follower then responded: “Not trying to disrespect U or your kids. Just wanted to put out there for general knowledge about pools, children, and safety precautions in response to someone commenting @ John slipping into pool (sic).”
John’s wife Chrissy, 33, hit back at people who commented on the couple’s parenting capabilities, but she later said she “misunderstood” and admitted she can get “defensive” when people criticise their brood’s safety.

Chelsea Handler didn’t think she needed therapy

OHMYGOSSIP — Chelsea Handler thought she was too “smart” to need therapy.
The 44-year-old star consulted Dr. Dan Siegel – who had previously appeared on her Netflix series ‘Chelsea’ – after becoming enraged by the 2016 presidential election and the psychiatrist made her realise that the way the vote made her feel the world had become “unhinged” tok her back to when her beloved eldest brother, Chet, died while hiking in 1984.
She said: “I thought I could go through life without ever having gone to therapy.
“Like, I’m tougher than that, I’m smarter than that. I don’t have to visit my childhood stuff.
“It turned out, the election represented to me the world being unhinged, which was exactly what happened to me when my brother died when I was nine years old.
“He told me he’d come back, and he said he’d never leave me with these people, referring to my parents, … and he was just going hiking and that I would always have him, and he never came back.”
Through her sessions with Dan, Chelsea realised she had never fully processed her brother’s death or understood how much it had impacted on her as she’d got older, leading her to writing her memoir ‘Life Will Be the Death of Me: . . . and you too!’ in the hope she can help others.
She told USA Today newspaper: “I started coming home and writing down the stuff that Dan, my doctor, was telling me about [how] I was emotionally attached to this nine-year-old girl and that was the reason I had become the way I’d become.
“Because I’m so resilient and I want to be so strong and I wrote it because I thought, ‘Wow if I’m going through this, then how many other haven’t dealt with their pain?’ ”
Chelsea recalled how “broken” her family felt after Chet, the eldest of six children, passed away and admitted her own way of dealing with his death was to simply leave the room whenever he was mentioned.
She said: “I didn’t like seeing my father weak. I’d already lost my brother; I couldn’t lose my dad too, and I did. My dad never recovered.
I dealt with it by just, if anybody talked about Chet or mentioned him, I’d just leave the room. I’d get on my bike, and I’d ride my bike for hours around the neighbourhood. I could cry on my bike, but I wouldn’t let anyone see me cry in person.”
