Meghan Markle enjoys dinner with friends in New York

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle enjoyed dinner with friends at a posh New York restaurant.
The Duchess of Sussex – who is expecting a baby with her husband Prince Harry – looked happy to be with her friends as they sat down for dinner at Ralph Lauren’s The Polo Bar in Midtown Manhattan following her baby shower.
Meghan dined with tennis ace Serena Williams, designer Misha Nonoo, ‘Suits’ actress Sarah Rafferty, brand consultant Benita Litt and her college friend Lindsay Roth.
The 37-year-old royal had marked her baby’s impending arrival with her friends on Tuesday (19.02.19) at a hotel on New York’s Upper East Side.
An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Meghan wanted to share her special time with those friends who have been with her through thick and thin. She was desperate for them all to get together and have some girly time away from the guys, so her pals arranged to all meet up in New York. They have spoiled her rotten while she has been over. They are all so excited and cannot wait for the baby to arrive.”
It comes after Meghan’s husband Prince Harry recently admitted impending fatherhood has made him more aware of his “responsibility” to the world.
Speaking at a Commonwealth youth discussion in London last month, he said: “As someone who is about to become a father, I am acutely aware of our shared responsibility to make this world more resilient and its inhabitants more accountable for the next generation. The only way to see real progress is not by chance, it’s by change.”

Jennifer Lopez was ‘fearless’ when she learned to dance

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez was “fearless” as a young dancer.
The ‘World of Dance’ star – who is a judge on the US reality show – admitted she didn’t ever really think of the risk of injury when she started her career on the likes of ‘In Living Colour’ and Japanese show ‘Synchronicity’.
Opening up on her early years, J-Lo told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I think I was pretty fearless. I think when you’re younger, you are. Like, ignorance is bliss.
“You have no idea [to think] like, ‘I can fall on my face and it’s gonna scar me for 10 years.’ You know none of these things.”
Early in her career J-Lo, now 49, was a backing dancer for the likes of New Kids on the Block and Janet Jackson, and has continued to flaunt her moves in her own shows as a pop star.
However, despite becoming such a huge name, she doesn’t think she’d have had want it takes to win ‘World of Dance’ back in the day.
She admitted: “I’d like to think I could, but I don’t think I could. I don’t think I would have made it very far here.”
Her comments come after she revealed she had prepared for her Las Vegas residency “like a boxer training for a fight”.
She recently said: “I’ve always taken pretty good care of myself. I make sure I do intensive workouts at least three or four days a week, because I can see the results and I feel a lot better when I’m in shape. I also need to train very hard while doing my Las Vegas shows because I had to be extra fit to get through each performance.
“It’s like you’re a boxer training for a fight. But it really pays off and, as you get older, it’s even more important to put in the extra hours of training to keep your body toned.”
And the ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker has credited her dance background for being able to “push” herself hard when she needs to.
She explained: “I started out as a dancer and I remember whenever I arrived at the gym in the morning, I would spend as many hours as I could there. I would train until the point of exhaustion. So I have the mentality to be able to push myself pretty hard.”

Lady Gaga and Christian Carino weren’t going to work out ‘in the long run’

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga and Christian Carino were never going to work out “in the long run”.
The ‘Shallow’ hitmaker and the talent agent have reportedly split after a year together but their pals realised soon into the relationship it wasn’t going to go to plan.
A source told People magazine: “Their friends knew they weren’t going to work out in the long run. It always seemed Christian was more into the relationship than Gaga was.”
Gaga and Christian began dating in February 2017 before confirming their engagement in October last year. Speculation of Gaga’s relationship status has been circling for some time, after fans noticed the ‘Million Reasons’ singer wasn’t wearing her engagement ring when she attended the Grammy Awards earlier this month.
An insider said: “It just didn’t work out. Relationships sometimes end. There’s no long dramatic story.”
Gaga – who had been previously engaged to actor Taylor Kinney before calling it quits in 2016 – remained largely private about her relationship with Christian but had gushed about the hunk whilst on stage last year.
She said at the time: “When I went backstage, Christian was by the stairs making sure I was OK. The best part about being in love with someone is having them there to catch you if you fall.”
And in her documentary, ‘Gaga: Five Foot Two’, the star explained that she often asks Christian, as well as the other members of her family, for advice when it comes to her career.
She shared: “It’s not just about it being my boyfriend. I ask that of many people in my life, and my family, all the time. At the end of the day, I’m my father’s daughter, my mother’s daughter, my sister’s sister.”

Brooklyn Beckham has own wing of family’s mansion

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooklyn Beckham has been given his own “home” within his family’s mansion.
The 19-year-old aspiring photographer now has his own wing of his parents David and Victoria Beckham’s £31 million mansion in Holland Park, west London.
The staff used to reside in that part of the house but they have been moved to another section so that if Brooklyn’s relationship with model Hana Cross, 22, develops, they have their own space.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “David and Victoria love having Brooklyn at home when he’s in London. But he’s nearly 20 and they have decided that he needs some independence in some way. It’s a great way for Brooklyn to make steps towards moving out, but not for good just yet. And it means he can spend as much time with Hana as he likes.”
Brooklyn moved out to live in New York to study photography there but he had previously admitted that he was “really scared” about moving away from his family.
Speaking before he headed off to the US, he said: “I’m actually moving to New York in two weeks. I’m kinda just gonna disappear and study for a few years and see what happens after that. I’m nervous about moving away from my family, that’s one thing that I’m really scared of, but I feel like it’ll be good for me to live on my own for a bit and really knuckle down on what I really love and study.”
Brooklyn admitted his mother and father have been “so supportive” in his quest to become a photographer, and helped him choose pictures for his photo book ‘What I See’.
He added: “Me and my mum and dad were kind of selective and we didn’t want to put too many personal ones in there. It’s kind of a mix, we got a few family ones in there. They’re so supportive. My mum and dad really helped me as well with this book so I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Gary Lineker sneaks Monty Python references into Match of the Day coverage

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Lineker loves to sneak Monty Python references into ‘Match of the Day’ broadcasts.
The retired footballer and TV pundit – who has fronted BBC’s leading football coverage for 20 years – is said to be such a big fan of the classic British comedy troupe that he does his best to pay tribute to their famous material in his own unique way.
The show’s former editor Paul Armstrong is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column as saying: “For example, Kevin Keegan’s less successful second spell at Newcastle was described as, ‘He’s not the Messiah, he’s a very naughty boy.’ ”
The quip was a reference to Python’s popular film ‘The Life of Brian’, which was a comical and satirical take on the story of Jesus Christ.
Meanwhile, Michael Palin – who was part of the iconic group alongside John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam and the late Graham Chapman – once appeared on ‘Match of the Day’ and made his own reference to his later role in ‘Ripping Yarns’.
Paul revealed: “He duly slipped in, as his score prediction for West Brom v Arsenal, ‘Eight-bloody-one’, the line his ‘Ripping Yarns’ character had howled just before he threw the mantelpiece clock through his front room window.”
After getting their start on stage and together on ‘The Frost Report’, the Pythons first launched their own show ‘Flying Circus’ on the BBC in 1969.
They went on to write and star in feature length films, including the likes of ‘The Holy Grail’ in 1975, and 1983’s ‘The Meaning of Life’.

Emma Thompson drops out of ‘Luck’ due to ‘concerns’ over John Lasseter

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Thompson has dropped out of new animated film ‘Luck’ as she reportedly didn’t want to work with John Lasseter.
The 59-year-old actress will no longer be working on the film as she is “concerned” about working with Lasseter, 62, who has become the new head of Skydance Animation following his departure as the Chief Creative Officer of Pixar and Disney Animation after acknowledging “missteps” in his behavior with employees.
A representative for Emma confirmed to MailOnline she had decided to leave the project: “over concerns about working with John Lasseter when Skydance hired him”.
Lasseter left Pixar and Disney after taking a six-month sabbatical from the company in November 2017 following accusations of sexual misconduct. In June 2018, Disney announced that he would be leaving the company at the end of the year when his contract expired, but would work in a consultant role until then.
Skydance CEO David Ellison announced Lasseter’s hiring in January and hailed the animator as a “singular creative and executive talent” due to his work on box office hits ‘Frozen’, ‘Zootopia’ and ‘Incredibles 2’, whilst also addressing any potential controversy Lasseter’s hiring may cause.
He said: “John is a singular creative and executive talent whose impact on the animation industry cannot be overstated.”
“He was responsible for leading animation into the digital age, while telling incomparable stories that continue to inspire and entertain audiences around the globe.
“John has acknowledged and apologised for his mistakes and, during the past year away from the workplace, has endeavoured to address and reform them.”
The movie ‘Luck’ centers around the struggle between the organisations of bad luck and good luck, and Thompson had reportedly already started recording for her role as head of the latter organization before departing the project.
At the time of Lasseter’s hiring Ellison defended his decision to hire the animator in a letter to his employees which was published by Variety.
It read: “I know many of you are aware of John’s admitted mistakes in his prior role helming those studios.
“We employed outside counsel to thoroughly investigate the allegations, which we considered serious and have warranted our full attention as we made this important decision.
“The senior leadership team and I have all carefully evaluated the findings of this extensive investigation. Let me be clear: we have not entered into this decision lightly.”

Busted call for rock to be represented at BRITs

OHMYGOSSIP — Busted think it’s about time the BRIT Awards brought back the rock category.
The pop punk trio – Matt Willis, James Bourne and Charlie Simpson – think it’s a “shame” that the genre is not been represented at the prestigious ceremony anymore.
Matt – whose wife Emma Willis hosted the ceremony in 2017 – told the Daily Star newspaper: “It’s a joke. It’s not representative.
“They got rid of the rock category.
“It’s a real f***ing shame we don’t a Grammys in Britain.”
Whilst Charlie feels there should be clearer categories for the pop market as he finds it odd that girl group Little Mix and indie pop rockers The 1975 are battling against one another for Best Group.
He said: “It’s ridiculous. There should be a pop category.”
The British Rock Act gong was scrapped after in 2007 after Kaiser Chiefs picked up the award in 2006, with Franz Ferdinand winning the year before and The Darkness in 2004.
The ‘Year 3000’ hitmakers previously won Best Pop Act and the British Breakthrough prize in 2004, they were also up for Best Group that year.
The Darkness ended up winning the latter prize, with The Coral, Radiohead and Sugababes also in the running.
The BRITs also had categories for Urban Act and Dance Act back then.
Busted split up not long after winning their BRITs, after Charlie Simpson quit the band citing creative differences.
However, they reformed in 2016, 11 years after going their separate ways, and released comeback LP ‘Night Driver’.
Meanwhile, the ‘What I Go To School For’ hitmakers recently reached number two in the Official UK chart with their LP ‘Half Way There’, and James admitted they are “just finding their rhythm” as a band.
After going back to their roots on their latest album, which is a refined version of their old sound, James said they are now capable of making an “even better” record.
When one fan asked on Twitter when their next album will be out, James replied: “Our albums will keep getting better. Trust me on that. I feel like
we’re just finding our rhythm.”
And when another said: “How can they honestly get better than they are
now? HALF WAY THERE IS THE BEST! (sic)”, he wrote back: “They will get better.”
Another user tweeted that they hope they don’t “lose their Busted vibe”, to which he replied: “The vibe is here to stay.”

Aljaz Skorjanec: Strictly Come Dancing will miss Pasha

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Aljaz Skorjanec believes that the show is going to miss departing dancer Pasha Kovalev because you need experienced performers like him behind the scenes.
The 29-year-old Slovenian dancer joined the BBC One ballroom show in September 2013 for the eleventh series and he admits he will always be appreciative to Pasha – who announced he is quitting the programme last week – for his support backstage and guidance when he entered the “crazy ‘Strictly’ world”.
Aljaz also thinks the departures of Brendan Cole and James Jordan are big losses to the show because they had the experience to help the celebrity contestants and the more inexperienced dancers.
In an interview on ‘Lorraine’, he said: “Pasha has been such a huge part of this show and his results and what he’s achieved on ‘Strictly’ speaks for itself but he was so supportive, incredibly kind, always a true gentleman, and someone that as soon as you get into that crazy ‘Strictly’ world as a professional you could look up to. People like Brendan, Anton (du Beke), James and Pasha were always there for us newbies, there for guidance and Pasha was incredible at that so we’re definitely going to miss him.”
Aljaz was joined on the ITV morning TV show by his wife and fellow ‘Strictly’ professional Janette Manrara, and she spilled that the couple have started thinking about having a baby together but at the moment they are just too busy with work to set a time frame to become parents.
Janette – who is heading out on a UK tour with Aljaz for their dance show ‘Remembering The Movies’ – said: “As a woman, it’s a big decision whenever we do decide to have a child, we talk about it all the time, we adore kids, when we are around babies we get so broody … We’re definitely going to have children, it’s just that right now our careers are at such a high we are enjoying dancing so much and we’re enjoying being on Strictly so much and the opportunities we are being given at the moment, like doing ‘Remembering The Movies’, and other incredible projects that we are part of we can’t let go of just yet.”

Cheryl Fergison begs popular soap for TV role

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl Fergison has begged Irish soap ‘Fair City’ for a role.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress – who played Heather Trott on the BBC show for half a decade until 2012 – is currently touring Ireland in ‘Menopause: The Musical’, but she took some time off to visit the set of the popular programme and put herself up for a potential new part.
In a clip shared on Instagram, she said: “Okay everyone I am here in Dublin. I am promoting ‘Menopause: The Musical’, but today I am on the set of ‘Fair City’.
“Look, there is everything. There is the Spar and everything… I think that you guys should give me a little job on ‘Fair City’ and I should be on it.
“Somebody who passes through for about six months and maybe gets killed off again?”
Cheryl, 53, added that she wouldn’t mind her character dying “as long as” she had the chance to get back into the world of soaps.
She admitted: “I don’t mind as long as I do it. That would be fantastic. Come on ‘Fair City’, get me on. My foot is almost in the door.”
‘Fair City’ – which airs on RTÉ in Ireland – is the country’s most popular and longest-running show, having been broadcast for nearly three decades.
When it originally launched in September 1989 it was for one episode a week as part of a limited run, but it now airs four times every week all year round.
Cheryl last appeared on ‘EastEnders’ seven years ago when Heather was killed off by Ben Mitchell, and she went on to have roles in ‘The Spa’ and ‘Big School’.
In January last year, she publicly called out to ITV to consider her for a part on ‘Coronation Street’ or ‘Emmerdale’.
She tweeted at the time: “It seems many of the soap watching public would like to see me on the cobbles or in the dales.
“[Emmerdale and Coronation Street] worth considering if you are thinking of new characters?
“Heather was such a great character to play. Now it’s time to create a new character. Time to see a completely different character in one of the other continuing dramas.”

Now, Jorgie is treading the boards as Kelly in ‘Fame The Musical’, and she’s delighted to be living out her dream.
She added: “I’m still in my childhood life of what I always wanted to be in and what I wanted to do. It sounds quite cheesy and corny but it’s actually my favourite job in the world

Katya appeared with some of her co-stars on ‘The Greatest Dancer’ on Saturday (16.02.19) – on which Cheryl acts as a judge along with fellow ‘Strictly’ dancer Oti Mabuse and ex ‘Glee’ actor Matthew Morrison – and the pair had a lengthy chat about ballroom skills on set.
Katya said: “Cheryl wanted to know everything. She was saying to me, ‘Katya … show me how to move my hips, show me your arm movements, what do I do? And then she was practising. She was loving it. And she was really good.”
The 29-year-old choreographer is certain former ‘X Factor’ judge Cheryl would do well on the ballroom and the past performances of pop stars on the programmes would suggest she’d have a chance to win the coveted glitterball trophy.

Jameela Jamil brands Karl Lagerfeld ‘fat-phobic misogynist’ following death

OHMYGOSSIP — Jameela Jamil branded Karl Lagerfeld a “ruthless, fat-phobic misogynist” following his death.
The 32-year-old actress and model slammed the iconic designer – who passed away on Tuesday morning (19.02.19) after battling ill health for several weeks – insisting he wasn’t the “best person” and shouldn’t be eulogised.
Retweeting an article which urged people to “stop mourning” and claimed the Chanel creative director was a “terrible person”, Jameela wrote: “I’m glad somebody said it (Sic).
“Even if it is a little soon. A ruthless, fat-phobic misogynist shouldn’t be posted all over the internet as a saint gone-too-soon. Talented for sure, but not the best person.”
The ‘Good Place’ actress went on to state that despite any positive behaviour the designer may have exhibited, Karl “shouldn’t be glorified” as he “never changed or apologised”.
In response to a fan arguing against”cancelling” people for previous toxic behaviour – and urging Jameela to think about the positive effect Karl had on celebrities such as Rihanna – the star said: “You can’t cancel someone who is dead. You can just say they shouldn’t be glorified if they’ve never changed or apologised.”
The original article referenced a previous comment in which the Fendi director had said singer Adele was “a little too fat but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice”.
Jameela added that she wanted to write an essay rather than try to express her thoughts in a single tweet.
She wrote: “Gonna write an essay about this instead of trying to put my thoughts on this into a tweet. How problematic the industry has been for girls is too complex for this.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya says her new Tommy Hilfiger clothing collection will make people feel “powerful.”
The 22-year-old actress has teamed up with the designer for an exclusive Spring 2019 TommyXZendaya range and says that her new range – which is available from size 4 to 24 and features silhouettes and rainbow stripes – is made to empower women.
Zendaya said: “The most important thing to me is that these clothes feel timeless, and whoever puts it on feels powerful and confident.
“I’ve learned about what it really takes to make a garment. Even something as simple as a plain white tee takes so much more time, people and energy then you’d think, and every job is crucial.”
‘The Greatest Showman’ actress previously said she was delighted to have been given “creative control” over all aspects of her collection.
She explained: “When I was first presented with the opportunity, I was told that Tommy Hilfiger himself wanted to talk to me about it. And sure enough he was on the phone, explaining how he wanted me to be as creative as I wanted.

Zendaya was delighted to be able to turn to her stylist Lee Roach for help and support with the collection.
She added: “I really lean on him, and I partnered with him creatively for this collection. I met him when I was 14, and it’s been just us ever since.

The 35-year-old designer – who launched her eponymous fashion brand in 2016 – collaborated with the eyewear brand to create an exclusive retro-inspired capsule collection called Alexa Chung x Sunglass Hut, which debuted at the star’s fall 2019 runway show during London Fashion Week.

“I revisited iconic moments in film and music to make a variety of styles that feel both timeless and timely.
“Scott Walker, Fellini, Elvis and Anna Karina to name but a few shady icons of mine, all helped shape the direction of this eyewear capsule.”
This isn’t the only new collaboration Alexa debuted at Fashion Week as she recently teamed up with JuJu to create her own line of jelly shoes, which she unveiled at her spring/summer 2019 catwalk show earlier this week.
The brunette beauty released two styles of the nostalgic footwear in collaboration with the Northampton-based original jelly shoemakers and revealed that she wanted to give the iconic 90s footwear a “playful facelift” that was also “fashion forward”.

Beyonce and Jay Z bans guests from taking photos at pre-Oscars party

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce and Jay Z have banned guests from taking photos at their pre-Oscars party.
The couple are hosting their annual bash at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont hotel for a second year in a row but have put a ban on social media to ensure there are no “embarrassing snaps” from the party.
A source close to the couple told The Sun newspaper: “Bey and Jay have put a series of tough measures in place to ensure none of their guests upload any embarrassing snaps from the party.
“They want to keep the whole thing top secret, and have ordered celebrity guests to leave their own security teams at home so there is space form everybody else.”
The power couple toured together last year and they are “closer than ever” following that run.
An insider shared: “It was a very special year for the whole family. Beyoncé and Jay loved touring and connecting with their fans. They enjoyed bringing their whole family on tour. It was like a big adventure for everyone. They loved showing Blue around Europe, enjoyed solo date nights and family fun. Beyoncé and Jay seem closer than ever. Drake parties with Adele

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake partied with Adele over the weekend.
The duo were seen having a laugh around Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, where they dined at Jerry’s Famous Deli before heading over to Pinz Bowling next door. Later, they headed to Chill N Vape Lounge.
The pair became friends when they met after Drake’s concerts back in October and have stayed in contact ever since, TMZ reports.
Meanwhile, Drake previously confessed he was so “gassed” to find out Adele was at his show at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
He shared on Twitter: “Oiiiiiii don’t f**king get me gassed right now I love this woman and she came to the show. Thank god nobody told me I would have been SHOOK (sic)”
Adele had earlier posted a tweet where she admitted Drake had “blew her mind”.
Alongside a heart emoji, she wrote: “Oii Champagne Papi blew my mind tonight! Best production I’ve ever seen hands down and way up there with one of my favorite shows of all time. Huge love (sic)”
Drake would no doubt love to see Adele live but she previously confessed that touring “doesn’t suit” her, and she would rather continue making music without the pressure of heading out on tour.
In a handwritten note inside the programme for her Wembley Stadium shows in 2017, Adele wrote: “So this is it after 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25, we are at the end. Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well. I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus, I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is! I’ve done 119 shows and these last four will take me up to 123, it has been hard but an absolute thrill and pleasure. I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artists have had on me live. And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.”
