Iggy Azalea’s anxiety struggles

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Azalea’s fear of rejection gives her anxiety.
The ‘Fancy’ hitmaker admits she gets anxious feelings when she reaches out to other artists and asks if they want to collaborate because she is worried they’ll say no.
She wrote in a series of tweets: “Over the years I’ve become a lil self conscious about reaching out to ppl I don’t know personally to collaborate or simply just compliment them because I feel so paranoid they’ll be like ‘Gross, I hate her’ but recently I’ve started to push past my anxiety and just ASK! … Not letting my anxiety about potentially feeling rejected by people I’m a fan of stop me from trying my luck and reaching out to them has already lead to tons of new creative people around me for this era. I’m really excited about that. (sic)”
Iggy has previously admitted she got “crazy anxiety” when people started speculating she was dating Jimmy Butler after she was spotted looking cosy with the basketball player in a car park in Malibu.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, she shared back in August: “Can we please stop saying every man who is single you see me standing next to is someone I’m on a date with? Sh*t is corny and super annoying! The whole thing gives me crazy anxiety & makes me feel like I can’t have normal in passing conversations with people because everything ends up being some “story” for the internet. (sic)”

Rita Ora still does chores

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora still has to “blitz the kitchen every once in a while”, according to her mum Vera.
The 55-year-old psychiatrist has a close relationship with all her children – Rita, 29, Elena, 30, and 21-year-old Don – and although her eldest child is in the public eye, there are “no prima donnas” in their family and she often relays to her daughter that she is no “better than anyone else”.

“There are no prima donnas in our family. I tell Rita we are all superstars in our own right. Being in the public eye doesn’t mean she’s better than anyone else and she knows it; she still has to blitz the kitchen every once in a while. ”
Vera went on to explain that she tries her best to make her daughter understand the “flash and glamour ” she experiences is not the reality for most people and praised the ‘Body on Me’ hitmaker for engaging with social issues and attempting to “support and make a difference”.
She said: “I try to make Rita understand that the flash and the glamour she experiences is not the real world. She knows what reality is because she can see it through my work.
“She has become more engaged with social problems and I’m really happy about that. I love it when she feels she can support and make a difference.”

The 31-year-old actress admitted that although acting helped develop her self-confidence it still takes her a while to feel comfortable around people, and confessed she isn’t the kind of person to be interested in someone after meeting them “for a few minutes”.
In an interview with Psychologies magazine, she said: “I am much less inhibited and more open with people than I was when I was younger. Acting did that for me, but I’m still slow to make friends.

The 34-year-old star split from Tristan Thompson – with whom she shares 10-month-old daughter True – this week after he allegedly cheated on her with Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods, and she has basted Mike Fleiss for hinting she could appear on the next series of ‘The Bachelorette’.

Her sister Kim Kardashian had previously leaped to her defence and described it as “fake f***ing news”, before Fleiss continued to suggest Khloe could make an appearance.
He argued: “How would @KimKardashian know??? This is between me and @KrisJenner — and most importantly @khloekardashian !!!
As @KimKardashian is obviously aware, this is all about timing for @khloekardashian ! She’s been through a lot. Ts and Ps from all of #BachelorNation ! (sic)”

Rosamund Pike says portraying Marie Colvin in A Private War was ‘scary’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosamund Pike “wavered in courage” when she portrayed Marie Colvin in the film ‘A Private War’.
The 39-year-old actress plays the lead role in the Matthew Heineman drama – based on the life of celebrated war correspondent Colvin – and she revealed that it was “scary” playing the Sunday Times reporter because the filmmaker would want to put her in “unstable” scenarios.
Speaking to the Radio Times about how she portrayed the journalist, she said: “I’m a very passionate person and not half as reserved as people imagine. I know I can put that across; I think it’s just as dangerous to let it out too much.
“It’s quite scary playing someone like Marie because you’re getting in touch with some things that are very unstable. And Matthew’s way of working is inherently unstable, because he’s looking for things that are not prepared.
“It made me feel like I wavered in courage at times. You know: could I do it? Well you know you are a shape-shifter in your core, really. My business is to transform, and I will.”
The blonde beauty improvised a scene with genuine refugees from Syria and Iraq in the Homs suburb of Baba Amr when she was filming for the movie.
Pike admitted that she became affected by a scene when a man – who’s two-year-old nephew had been killed by an Assad regime bullet – appeared as a father that had lost his son, and “erupted in grief” when he saw the true-to-life film set.
She added: “People underestimate how real a film set can feel, I think. So, when this man saw our baby on the gurney, this grief erupted out of his body and engulfed the room.
“I didn’t know where to put my feelings and they exploded in me. I thought, ‘What right do I have to be here? This, for this man, is real, and I’m not real. Who am I?”

Emily Atack wants Celebrity Juice job

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack would “love” to appear on ‘Celebrity Juice’ but she hasn’t been asked.
The ‘Inbetweeners’ star – who was last year’s runner up on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ – has made no secret of her desire to replace Fearne Cotton on Keith Lemon’s outrageous panel show, but now she has admitted she wasn’t approached for the role.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, she admitted: “I didn’t hear anything from anyone at Celebrity Juice. I’d love to be part of the show, but nothing was discussed.
“But at the moment things are great for me. I’m working my arse off. I’m working constantly and loving it.”
However, the 29-year-old actress isn’t disheartened, and she insisted she has “a lot” of offers started to come in while she is focusing on her happiness above all else.
She added: “There are so many things I’d love to do. And a lot of them are slowly happening for me now.
“But for me, the most important thing is to be happy. That’s what I focus on. This industry can change so quickly but at the moment things are going really well.”
Emily previously admitted that before signing up for ‘I’m A Celebrity’, she had reached a “crisis” point in her life, having seen her career flounder, her five-year relationship with Jack Vacher come to an end and struggling with her body image.
She said: “I’d reached a point in my life where everything came to a crossroads and I was having a bit of a quarter-life crisis. I was just very lost. I didn’t really know what I wanted from life and everything was at a standstill.
“I got really bored of sitting around waiting for work or for the next movie to come along that only 100 people would see. I got bored of being skint, of twiddling my thumbs, wondering how to take my life to the next stage. I was frustrated.”

Jussie Smollett has support of Empire co-star Terrence Howard

OHMYGOSSIP — Terrence Howard has shown his support for Jussie Smollett after it was announced he would be cut from ‘Empire’.
The 49-year-old actor has spoken out in defence of his co-star – who is being investigated over reports he orchestrated an alleged homophobic and racist attack on himself – following the news producers have decided he will not be returning to set to shoot the final two episodes of the drama.
Terrence shared a video of his son Hero playing with Jussie on a private jet, and wrote on Instagram: “All your lil homies got you… We love the hell outta you”
Producers are keen to “avoid further disruption” to the show, and so have simply written Jussie’s character, Jamal Lyon, out of the finale.
Producers including Lee Daniels and Danny Strong said in a statement to The Blast: “The events of the past few weeks have been incredibly emotional for all of us. Jussie has been an important member of our ‘Empire’ family for the past five years and we care about him deeply.
“While these allegations are very disturbing, we are placing our trust in the legal system as the process plays out.
“We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have decided to remove the role of ‘Jamal’ from the final two episodes of the season.”
Jussie appeared in court on Thursday (21.02.19), where he was ordered to pay a $10,000 bond and surrender his passport after being arrested on felony charges of filing a false police report and disorderly conduct.
After the hearing, he headed straight to the Cinespace Studio in Chicago where he became “very emotional” as he maintained his innocence in a speech to the cast and crew of the show.
He reportedly said: “I’m sorry I’ve put you all through this and not answered any calls. I wanted to say I’m sorry and, you know me, I would never do this to any of you, you are my family. I swear to God, I did not do this.”
Jussie was later praised by his legal team as a “young man of impeccable character” in a statement that hit out at the way the investigation has been handled.
The lawyers said in a statement: “Today we witnessed an organised law enforcement spectacle that has no place in the American legal system.
“The presumption of innocence, a bedrock in the search for justice, was trampled upon at the expense of Mr. Smollett and notably, on the eve of a Mayoral election.
“Mr. Smollett is a young man of impeccable character and integrity who fiercely and solemnly maintains his innocence and feels betrayed by a system that apparently wants to skip due process and proceed directly to sentencing.”

Armie Hammer dismissed as bland

OHMYGOSSIP — Armie Hammer has been told his acting is as “bland as a piece of wood”.
The 32-year-old actor admitted it doesn’t “feel good” when people criticise his work but he respects their right to have an opinion.
He said: “Maybe some people just don’t like my style. I get a lot of people telling me that they think my acting is as bland as a piece of wood. Well, that’s their opinion I guess.
“I’ve had agents tell me I will never make it. Ever. ‘Son, you just don’t have it. Quit. Now.’
“It happened a great deal with I started out. I mean, it doesn’t feel good.”
And the ‘On the Basis of Sex’ star admitted the cruel comments once forced him to take a break from social media because Twitter can be so upsetting, though he’s learned to realise the online storm soon blows over.
He told Britain’s GQ magazine: “It’s one of the reasons I took a break from social media before.
“I’m not sadomasochistic enough to enjoy this.
“I don’t want to read this, so I just walked away. For a while.”
Asked if he still reads the tweets, he added: “Oh sure. But I don’t go over and over them. But every now and again I won’t be able to sleep and I’ll take a peek and then be up for an hour and a half and ugh.
“It’s very interesting to incur the wrath and the ire of the internet, the internet’s attention span is very short.
“My relationship with Twitter is like that fable of the frog and the scorpion, the frog gives the scorpion a lift across the river, right before the scorpion stings it.
“The frog goes, ‘Why did you do that?’ and he goes, ‘Because I’m a f***ing scorpion.’ ”

Matthew McConaughey’s mum loves his fame

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew McConaughey’s mum is a “mess” when it comes to opening up about his private life.
The ‘Interstellar’ actor revealed how he tried to tell his mother Kay, now 87, to stay tight lipped when he first became famous so he could figure out life in the spotlight.
Opening up affectionately about his mum, he told the Sunday Telegraph magazine: “She’s a mess, man. When I first became famous she would show up at my interviews. It wasn’t about me, it was about her.
“I would say, ‘Please Mom – I’m trying to navigate this newfound celebrity and being in the public eye, so just watch the loose lips. Just let me be the lead voice for now…’ ”
However, it didn’t seem to work as not long after, a friend told the star to tune into US tabloid show ‘Hard Copy’ as Kay was showing a reporter around their home, showing them “where Matthew slept with his first girlfriend” and more.
His older brother Rooster pointed out that while he admired his sibling trying to get her in line, no one else had ever succeeded before.
Matthew added: “Rooster said, ‘Buddy, you put up a valiant effort trying to curb our mother. I been around a lot longer than you, and I tried, and I saw Dad try and you ain’t changing her…’
“So now I’ve said, ‘You know what Mom? Free rein. Go for it.’ ”
Family is very important to the actor – who has children Levi, 10, Vida, nine, and Livingston, six, with wife Camila Alves – and he recently admitted the only ambition he ever had in life was to raise one of his own,
He previously said: “The only thing I’ve ever known I’ve wanted to be, since I was eight years old, 100 per cent knew it, clear, natural law, was to be a dad.
“I always knew I wanted to be a dad. I’ve always revered that as the greatest thing a man can do, be a father.
“It’s the greatest privilege and the greatest responsibility.”

Geri Horner wants to find a balance as a working mum

OHMYGOSSIP — Geri Horner is constantly trying to find a balance in her life as a “working mother”.
The Spice Girls star – who has daughter Bluebell, 14, with ex Sacha Gervasi and son Montague, two, with husband Christian Horner – revealed how she puts her children first because time with them is “far more precious” than anything else.
She told the Sunday Times: “OK, as any working mother we’re making decisions, we’re all choosing. Here’s an example: this morning, I’m meant to be getting ready, training for the tour. I got a call from the trainer.
“I said, ‘Look, I’ve got a photoshoot, I’m busy,’ but I knew I had a window. He said, ‘Do you want me to come?’ And I said no. I got up early.
“Monty was in his overalls, I put my yellow overalls on and I was out with the tractor with him. He’s my workout. Go and run around with my child — to me, that’s far more precious and important.”
However, the 46-year-old star – who will be hitting the road with her Spice Girls bandmates for a reunion tour this year – explained how important it is to strike a balance in preparation for the time when her kids what to do “their own thing”.
She said: “There isn’t a perfect way, but we’re constantly negotiating, aren’t we? In 16 years’ time, [my kids] will be going off doing their own thing. If my whole identity’s wrapped up in being a mother, then that’s wobbly ground too.”
Meanwhile, Geri previously admitted her marriage to Christian in 2015 was – alongside becoming a mother – the scariest thing she’s done.
When asked what the bravest thing she’s ever done has been, she said: “It’s between getting married and having a baby. The bravest things are the most beautiful. When I do something that’s out of my comfort zone, I feel fantastic. I’m afraid all the time, but I say a prayer and become brave. It doesn’t mean I’m not scared.”

Melissa McCarthy ‘wants to see’ Ghostbusters reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — Melissa McCarthy really wants to see Jason Reitman’s ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot.
The 48-year-old actress has spoken out about the upcoming blockbuster, and while it will ignore the all-female 2016 revamp – in which she starred alongside Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Kristen Wiig – she is still looking forward to seeing how it unfolds.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I’m for anybody who’s making movies.
“I talked to Jason about it, he’s just always had this idea, and his goes back to the world where the guys did exist and I’m like, ‘I want to see that’. I’m all for it. I say like, ‘Tell the story.’ ”
McCarthy’s comments come after Reitman – who will be at the helm 36-years after his father Ivan directed the first two films in the series – “nothing but admiration” for the 2016 remake.
The director previously said his movie is “trying to go back to the original technique and hand the movie back to the fans” which some interpreted as a criticism of the remake – however, the ‘Juno’ director has insisted that “that came out wrong” and he strongly feels the recent installment “expanded the universe and made an amazing movie”.
On Twitter, he wrote: “Wo, that came out wrong! I have nothing but admiration for Paul [Feig] and Leslie and Kate and Melissa and Kristen and the bravery with which they made Ghostbusters 2016. They expanded the universe and made an amazing movie! (Sic)”
Jason has also co-written a screenplay with Gil Kenan and plans to begin shooting the film – which will be a continuation of the 1884 movie and its 1989 sequel – this summer, with Sony planning to release the latest sequel in summer 2020.

J.J. Abrams wants Star Wars fans to be ‘satisfied’ with trilogy finale

OHMYGOSSIP — J.J. Abrams wants ‘Star Wars’ fans to be “satisfied” with ‘Episode IX’.
The 52-year-old director – who has helmed the much-anticipated sci-fi movie after previously being behind the camera for ‘Episode VII – The Force Awakens – is excited for the franchise’s passionate fan base to see the highly anticipated third installment in the sequel trilogy, and he hopes it lives up to expectations.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, he said: “I really can’t wait for you to see it. There are a lot of words that we all hope that you feel, and obviously the biggest most important one is ‘satisfied.’ ”
The movie recently officially wrapped filming, and Abrams admitted it was “emotional” on set as the team finished work on the saga’s story.
He added: “It was actually a pretty emotional thing, the cast and crew just did an unbelievable job, and I just cannot wait for you to see what we’ve got going for you.”
The film is the third installment of the ‘Star Wars’ sequel trilogy, following ‘The Force Awakens’ and ‘The Last Jedi’, and is slated for release in December 2019.
Meanwhile, J.J. previously revealed he was determined to include the late Carrie Fisher – who played Princess Leia – in the upcoming movie.
The actress passed away in December 2016, but the director was still desperate to include Leia in the final chapter of the trilogy.
He shared: “Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without [Carrie] eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character.
“With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in ‘Episode IX’ by using unseen footage we shot together in ‘Episode VII’.”

Helen McCrory praises MotherFatherSon co-star Richard Gere

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen McCrory thought Richard Gere was a “fascinating choice” for her ‘MotherFatherSon’ co-star.
The ‘Peaky Blinders’ actress has praised her cast mate – who will make his major TV role debut in the upcoming BBC drama – but she admitted she was surprised to find out she would be performing opposite the ‘Pretty Woman’ star.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday’s EVENT magazine, she said: “I thought it was fascinating to choose as an alpha male someone who is naturally softly spoken and gentle in movement.
“Richard has a steeliness, but he also has a very soft quality about him, which is why he was the young girls’ pin-up. The little girls don’t fall in love with guys who look like they could strangle you. They like ‘An Officer And A Gentleman!’ ”
However, Helen, 50, admitted she wasn’t as infatuated with the star, now 69, as other girls seemed to be when she was growing up.
She revealed: “I knew who he was, of course. But I had a crush on Adam And The Ants back then. It was all London, it was all street, it was all edgy, it was all the smell of carbon monoxide and marches and DMs.”
She added that there was a certain feel when Richard appeared on set, which she compared to his charismatic and successful businessman character of Max Finch in the show.
Helen – who plays his ex-wife Kathryn Villiers – explained: “‘Oh, yes – there’s definitely an acknowledgement that when he walks on set, no one else has made that much money. Who else is standing there whose films have grossed that much?
“And even if it’s not about the money, he’s a film star. Of the old guard. So the role is perfect for him… When Max walks in the room, everybody goes, ‘Wow, it’s Max!’ ”
