OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John uses his “incredible knowledge of football” to scout potential players for Watford Football Club.
The 71-year-old music legend owned the Premier League club for two spells between 1976 and 2002 and is now the Honorary Life President of the club due to his work on behalf of the English side.
The club’s current Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Scott Duxbury, has revealed that Elton is in “constant communication” with him about the team and often recommends players for their scouting team to check out as potential signings.
Speaking to UK radio station talkSPORT, Duxbury said: “He is involved in the sense that emotionally, he is involved on a daily basis. He comes to games as often and as regularly as he can.
“He is in constant communication, both with opinions of how the team has played, opinions on players, who we should be signing, have we seen this player. His knowledge of football is incredible. He often will text or email me, ‘Are you watching this second division game?’ And I go, ‘No, no I am not Elton.’ He recommends players that I have not heard of and I say I will pass it to my scouting department. They come back and say, ‘Yeah, yeah, really good player let’s look at this.’ He absolutely has an encyclopedic knowledge of the lower division players. It is incredible. He watches everything and he has a real knowledge of players and an absolute passion for the football club. It is not superficial.”
Duxbury admits the ‘Rocketman’ hitmaker is always honest about the team’s performance and isn’t afraid to criticise his decisions if he thinks he’s doing something wrong.
He added: “His obvious love is music, his second love is Watford Football Club. I will probably hear from him on a daily basis on one matter or another.
“And he is not backwards at criticising as well, if I am doing something wrong he will let me know. But he has a genuine passion, a genuine warmth and it is great to have him involved.”
Elton became chairman and director of Watford Football Club in 1976, appointing the late Graham Taylor as manager and he invested large sums of his own money to get the team into the top division of English soccer and eventually to the 1984 FA Cup Final, although they were beaten by Everton.
After selling the club in 1987 he remained president, but purchased it again in 1997 and was chairman until 2002. He still holds a significant financial interest in Watford and is a regular at games with his husband David Furnish and their two sons, Zachary, eight, and Elijah, six.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton does not label herself as a feminist.
The 73-year-old country singer is a role model to countless women all over the world for her incredible music career and acumen as a businesswoman, however, she doesn’t feel the need to “march, hold up a sign or label myself” to prove she supports other girls.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, she said: “I don’t think … I mean I must be if being a feminist means I’m all for women, yes. But I don’t feel I have to march, hold up a sign or label myself.
“I think the way I have conducted my life and business and myself speaks for itself. I don’t think of it as being a feminist. It’s not a label I have to put on myself. I’m just all for girls.”
The ‘Jolene’ hitmaker went on to explain that she chose to accept a part in the iconic 1980 comedy film ‘9 to 5’ – which followed three female secretaries, who decide to get revenge on their tyrannical, sexist boss by abducting him and running the business themselves – not because of its message of female empowerment but for the chance to work with “big stars” Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
Dolly – who wrote the theme song to the movie – said: “I didn’t think of it in those terms to be honest with you. I was thinking more in terms of business than subject matter. Jane was a big star and so was Lily, so I thought, ‘This is great. If it’s a big movie we can share the glory and if it’s a flop it’s on them.’ And Jane says, ‘Well Dolly will give us audiences in the South.’ ”
The ‘Islands In the Stream’ singer famously appeared alongside Fonda and Tomlin on stage at the Emmys in 2017 and her two former co-stars both openly condemned American President Donald Trump on stage, however, she did not want to join them in their political protest.
She said: “I want to be my own individual self. If I’ve got something to say, I’ll say it, but I don’t want to be dragged into it. It was not a surprise, knowing Lily and Jane. I just did not want everybody to think that whatever they think is what I think. I don’t really like getting up on TV and saying political things. I don’t even want to make a deal out of it, but I want people to know I’m my own individual self.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Meera Syal and her husband Sanjeev Bhaskar renewed their wedding vows in Las Vegas on Sunday (24.02.19).
The ‘Goodness Gracious Me’ co-stars originally tied the knot in 2005 but decided to re-affirm their love for one another in front of an Elvis Presley impersonator at the famous Graceland Chapel located in Downtown Vegas.
Captioning a photo of the pair with the Elvis lookalike on Twitter, Meera wrote: “So here I am marrying my Hunka Hunka Burning Lurve – again. (First time we had a Hindu priest, second time had to be Elvis obvs). We are the ones slightly out of focus in the background. Thanks @GracelandChapel and The King for such a blast. #VivaLasVegas (sic)”
Sanjeev, 55, revealed on his Twitter account that after he and Meera, 57, were married again by Elvis they celebrated by going to watch their friend Donny Osmond perform his ‘Donny and Marie Show’ with his sister Marie Osmond at the Flamingo Hotel.
Posting a photo of him embracing singer Donny, he tweeted: “Following the Elvis wedding vows, what better celebration than accosting one of your friends after their show? (Caption?) The Donny&Marie show is everything you’d want from a Vegas show, no surprise it’s been voted top show many times. Thanks for the hospitality bro @donnyosmond (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B believes Lady Gaga’s Oscars duet with Bradley Cooper may have broken the “women’s code”.
The Spice Girls member revealed, while appearing on ‘Good Morning Britain’, that she felt “uncomfortable” watching the pair intimately duet on their song ‘Shallow’ from their film ‘A Star Is Born’ as Bradley’s girlfriend Irina Shayk, was in the audience watching.
She said: “I felt so uncomfortable for Bradley’s girlfriend, oh my gosh.”
Host Piers Morgan added: “It was the look of love, wasn’t it?”
To which Mel responded: “It really was and that’s the whole gossip. That’s the whole thing,.”
Piers then added that the performance – which ended with the pair sat next to each other with their faces touching – could be considered more inappropriate as Gaga, 32, recently called off her engagement with Christian Carino.
He said: “Lady Gaga taking her engagement ring off – she just broke off from her fiance – and if you put the maths together, you have engagement ring off, and then staring at Bradley Cooper in a way that I would say crosses a few lines.”
Mel replied: “I would like to think it was part of the whole performance because there’s a women’s code and hopefully that’s not … hopefully, it’s only professional.”
Gaga was awarded the Best Original Song prize for ‘Shallow’ and thanked her co-star and director in her acceptance speech, insisting there was “not a single person on the planet” other than Bradley, 44, she could have performed the song with.
She said: “My family is here, I love you, mum and dad. Bradley, there is not a single person on the planet that could’ve sung this song with me but you. Thank you for believing in us, thank you so much.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan McKenna’s highlight of ‘Celebs Go Dating’ was “becoming friends” with her ex Pete Wicks.
The 26-year-old beauty – who was with Pete before they split in 2017 – regrets drinking “too much wine” when she had to sit through “dry dates” on the Channel 4 series, but the highlight of appearing on the show was getting the opportunity to making amends with her former flame.
Speaking to New! magazine about the best part of ‘Celebs Go Dating’, Megan said: “Becoming friends with Pete. My lowlight is drinking too much wine on my dates. I had so much alcohol during filming that I felt sick. I had to drink because some of the dates were so dry.
“It’s painful to sit at a table and start a conversation with someone who doesn’t know what to say to me. I had many awkward dates, but it’ll make great telly!
“Me and Pete are friends and I wish him all the best. I’m sure he wishes me all the best, too. I want him to find someone – we’re clearly not right for each other.”
The ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star also insisted that she doesn’t like drama despite being known for confrontation on ‘TOWIE’, which she quit in 2017 – but admitted she would love to star in other reality show’s like ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
She added: “Being on ‘TOWIE’, the cast gave me a hard time. I don’t like arguing – people think I do, but I don’t. Ask any of my friends, they know I never want agg. I just want an easy life and to get on with my own s**t. So no, I wouldn’t return – but I wouldn’t say no to ever doing reality TV again.

OHMYGOSSIP — Spike Lee paid homage to the late Prince with his Academy Awards outfit.
The 61-year-old director turned heads as he walked the red carpet at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre on Sunday (24.02.19) in a vivid purple suit, which he accessorised with gold sneakers and a custom-made gold, diamond and opal necklace, which featured the trademark symbol of the ‘Diamonds and Pearls’ hitmaker – who died from an accidental overdose in April 2016.
Discussing his outfit on E!’s ‘Live From the Red Carpet’, he explained: “This is an Ozwald Boateng suit and Michael Jordan commissioned the greatest sneaker designer ever to makes these gold Jordan 3’s.
“One last thing. My brother Prince. The end credit for this film, Prince is singing ‘Mary Don’t You Weep’.”
While Spike lost out on Best Director to ‘Roma’s Alfonso Cuaron at the awards, he admitted he felt he should have been shortlisted long before his work on ‘BlacKkKlansman’.
He said: “It should have happened before but…”
When host Ryan Seacrest asked if that water under the bridge, he laughed: “Let’s not go too far. Maybe a trickle, maybe a tear drop.”
And even though he didn’t win, the director – who did scoop Best Adapted Screenplay – is confident his movie will be remembered.
He said: “I think this film is on the right side of history, so I don’t need an Oscar to validate it.
“That would be nice but for example, this coming year will be the 30th anniversary of ‘Do the Right Thing’. The fact that that film did not win an Oscar has not hurt that film so I think it will be the same case with this film.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Momoa matched his Oscars suit to his hair accessory.
The ‘Aquaman’ actor turned heads on Sunday (24.02.19) as he walked the red carpet at the Academy Awards with wife Lisa Bonet in a vivid pink outfit and though he had the matching hair tie around his wrist, he planned to put it into his locks for the afterparty so he can dance in comfort.
He told ‘Access’: “Well the whole suit was built off of my scrunchie. I said I want a suit that looks like that. And so then Fendi made the scrunchie.
“I can’t really move in this suit. But I will [put the scrunchie] on later when I’m cutting a rug on the dance floor. The scrunchie will be in!”
And the former ‘Game of Thrones’ star insisted he is a great dancer who wouldn’t have got with his wife if he didn’t have impressive moves.
He joked: “I cut- baby how you gonna book that? And we’re from Hawaii. Hawaiians invented the hula bro! Come on now. How you gonna book Lisa Bonet if you don’t know how to cut a rug?”
His wife agreed: “He can dance! It’s true!”
Jason was presenting at the Oscars alongside Dame Helen Mirren, who wore a fuchsia tulle Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown.
Though the pair hadn’t deliberately matched the hue of their outfits, the pair joked they were a sign of how gender conventions are changing.
Helen said: “It just goes to show that these days, a Hawaiian god and a very mature English woman can actually wear the same colour.”
Jason agreed: “We can both wear pink. Finally, times are changing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rodarte were “so honoured” to create Yalitza Aparicio’s Oscars dress.
The ‘Roma’ star – who lost out on the Best Actress honour to ‘The Favourite’s Olivia Colman – walked the red carpet in a custom pale mint tulle asymmetric gown with flashes of polka dot silver and hidden embroidery and designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy admitted the process of working on the outfit was “magical” from start to finish.
The designers said: “Making her dress was magical from the first sketch; the stars aligned on every detail.
“We are so honoured to make such a special dress for one of the most incredible women and most inspired performances that we have seen. ‘Roma’ is a true gift of a film and we are thrilled to celebrate Yalitza’s brilliant performance in it.”
The 25-year-old former teacher’s gown – which was inspired by a runway piece and took a month to personalise – was created with “a lot of love”.
Her stylist, Sophie Lopez, told Vogue.com: “We worked very closely with Kate and Laura Mulleavy to make a dress that really felt like Yalitza. A lot of love has gone into this dress.”
Sophie has created a number of looks for Yalitz during awards season, with the actress wearing gowns from the likes of Miu Miu, Prada and Alberta Ferretti and the stylist was keen to keep things as “young and fresh” as possible for her client.
She said: “I work on the personality of the client. Their likes, their dislikes, what they feel amazing in – that’s how we select the looks. It’s always a collaborative experience.
“We’re always drawn to the more youthful, playful, vibrant designs. She’s only 25 years old, so we always bear that in mind, to keep it looking young and fresh.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Offspring have completed work on their long-awaited tenth album.
The American rock band – made up of Dexter Holland, Greg David Kriesel, Kevin John Wasserman, and Pete Parada – confirmed on Instagram that work on their latest album, their first since 2012’s ‘Days Go By’, is done.
Kevin, also known as Noodles, wrote in an Instagram comment: “The album is done. Working on getting it to the fans now. Stay tuned!”
The ‘Pretty Fly’ hitmakers previously revealed that they were contemplating releasing their latest music on two separate albums as there’s a wide array of songs on the latest record, some of which are more “left field” than the group’s usual sound.
He said: “I think there’s a record’s worth in there, but we’re thinking that maybe the songs are just a little too different. We know there’s a song or two on every record that comes out of left field for us, but it’s more than just a couple this time.
“Right now, we’re entertaining the idea of doing two records – one where we can put all of these, and another of straight-up Offspring songs.”
Although the band are creating new music, the ‘Kids Aren’t Alright’ hitmakers handed over most of their music to New York music rights company Round Hill including their records released through Columbia Records in 2016.
According to Billboard, the earliest albums including, the rocker’s biggest-selling albums 1994’s ‘Smash’ and 1992’s ‘Ignition’ will still be owned by Epitaph Records.
Frontman Dexter said at the time: “We felt that having the right caretaker for our catalogue, both the masters and the publishing, is incredibly important to the future of our career. Round Hill understands that we are continuing to perform and record and that the visibility of our past is critical to our future.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has urged her fans to buy see-through bags before attending her upcoming world tour.
The 25-year-old musician says her fans should bring their possessions in clear bags so they can pass through security easily, as things are going to be super strict following the bombing that happened at her Manchester concert in May 2017, which left 22 dead and hundreds more injured.
She wrote on her Instagram page: “Dear sweetener / thank u next tour audience friends, (sic) we’re sending out emails soon encouraging you to order a clear bag to bring your things into the venues as security is going to be very precise and smooth but for sure super strict. they’re super cheap and simple but having them ahead of time will for sure help things go as smooth as possible so if you see this in your emails please don’t ignore it! my team n i appreciate it very much! p.s. any clear bags within a certain size (all info will be in the (sic)) are totally fine to bring if you already have your own, i just wanted to make sure you saw these and knew about all this ahead of time so everything can go as smoothly and safely as possible. love you. thank you!”
Ariana has not yet confirmed a specific date in Manchester as being part of her 2019 tour as she revealed last year she wants to stage a special event in the city.
She previously wrote on her Instagram: “Manchester is not on this initial list because we a planning a special show. We need a bit more time getting things together before we can announce the date but we are of course coming and we love you.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has confirmed she will headline Manchester Pride.
The ‘god is a woman’ hitmaker will be returning to the city in north-west England for the first time since her One Love Manchester concert in June 2017, which she curated in honour of the victims of the Manchester bombing, which took place at the end of her concert in May 2017 at Manchester Arena.
Alongside a bee – which has become a symbol of Manchester’s solidarity in the wake of the attack – emoji, she wrote on Twitter: “manchester babes, i’m so thrilled to be headlining pride. my heart. i cant wait to see u and i love u so so much”
And the 25-year-old singer has promised her Manchester fans that she is “still working” on something “special” for the city’s residents.
She shared on her Twitter account: “we are still working on something a little more special for you guys. it takes a while to put these things together but hopefully i can tell you when i see you at pride. i love u. hope that’s alright. (sic)”
Annual LGBT pride festival, Manchester Pride, takes place on the weekend between Friday August 23 and Monday August 26. Ariana’s performance will take place at a new 9,000-capacity outdoor venue on Sunday August 25.
A source had previously said: “Manchester holds a very special place in Ariana’s heart and she’s made it clear she wants to do whatever she can for the city. She was in talks to ­perform at Manchester Pride this year but ­unfortunately they just could not make it work due to various reasons down to space and security. But the council and Ariana were so eager to make it ­happen, they have picked up conversations for 2019 and it is now looking like she will headline the Sunday evening. It is going to be really ­special if it does work out, particularly given how much Ariana means to everyone in the city.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins has dumped James ‘Arg’ Argent over a string of rude messages he sent her.
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star has reportedly kicked her boyfriend out of her house after he allegedly subjected her to a string of shameful messages, saying she was an “embarrassment”, a “nasty mean woman” and said she had “more rolls than Greggs”.
Gemma was also said to be mortified after Arg shared a video of the television personality snoring in bed next to him over the weekend.
According to The Sun newspaper, the messages read: “You are a fat joke of a woman. An absolute car crash! You’re nearly 40 f***ing years old, you embarrassment … You fat horrible lump. Nasty mean woman. Who the f*** do you think you are? You’ve got more rolls than Greggs.”
And Gemma feels Arg’s change in demeanour has happened as a result of her appearance on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
An insider shared: “She couldn’t believe he posted a post of her snoring to social media. It was utterly unacceptable and humiliating. She feels Arg wouldn’t have done that if he really loved her. Arg has become very nasty since her appearance on ‘Dancing On Ice’. It’s just like A Star Is Born. Gemma feels Arg cannot handle the fact her fame has become so much bigger than his.”
The blonde television personality feels particularly hurt by the whole thing as she helped Arg through his treatment last year after he relapsed.
The source said: “She helped him get clean, sorted his rehab and saved him from death last summer when he was in a bad way. So she’s very sad but she’s had to draw the line about what’s acceptable. The video was the final straw for Gemma and she just wants to see where the universe leads her.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West treated Khloe Kardashian to a weekend away after the Tristan Thompson drama.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ siblings headed to Palm Springs as Khloe processed how her partner had allegedly cheated on her with her half sister Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods.
A source told People magazine: “Kim took Khloé to Palm Springs one night before the weekend so she could have a relaxing getaway. She’s doing okay … Her family continues to support her. Everyone is trying to cheer her up and be around to help. They all still talk a lot about what happened. Their opinion hasn’t changed – what happened between Tristan and Jordyn is inexcusable.”
Sources had previously revealed that Jordyn and Tristan had both “planned” to “deny” their affair.
An insider said: “It seemed she had an agreement with Tristan that they would deny hooking up if they got caught. He said no one would find out. Jordyn was shocked when the family did find out and confronted her. Jordyn acted very distraught. But the family feels that she is mostly upset that she got caught.”
Before the incident Jordyn had been living with Kylie, but has now moved out in order to give the star some “space”.
Another source said: “Kylie is extremely upset about everything that is going on with Khloe and her best friend Jordyn.
“Jordyn is a sister to Kylie, and she’s extremely shocked this could happen, as is the whole family. OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight thinks the drama will “move on” without Tom Hardy.
The 41-year-old actor’s character Alfie Solomons was killed off in the series four finale two years ago, but Knight has said the upcoming fifth season could be “the best” yet.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, he said: “I personally believe – and I think everybody involved believes – that this is the best series yet, for all sorts of reasons.
“There’s a lot going on, there’s a lot of bells ringing, there’s a lot of conflict happening. It’s like when [series one and two star] Sam Neill was no longer in it. That felt like a loss, but you move on. You have to.”
Knight – who also works with Hardy in BBC series ‘Taboo’ – added that the fifth season of’Peaky Blinders’ will also deal with “the rise of fascism” as the newly-elected Thomas Shelby MP (Cillian Murphy) facing difficulties in a position of power.
He added: “Tommy Shelby is always on the way up – and sort of on the way down as well.
“Obviously he has political power now, and in series five he confronts fascism. Well, not ‘confront’ exactly, but that is what is happening at the time. The 1930s were all about the rise of fascism; how does Tommy Shelby respond?”
Knight’s comments come after he previously revealed the show’s run on air could “almost certainly” be a total of seven seasons.
said: “We just finished shooting a week and a half ago. Series five is done. I can honestly say that it’s the best yet. It’s really good. It’s fantastic and it all fell together beautifully. Great performances and I think audiences are going to be on the edge of their seats.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga donned a diamond worn by Audrey Hepburn in ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’ for the Academy Awards on Sunday (24.02.19).
The ‘A Star is Born’ actress – who was nominated for Best Actress and won Best Original Song for ‘Shallow’ – accessorised her black Alexander McQueen outfit with a 141-year-old, 128.54 carat yellow diamond from Tiffany, which was last worn over 50 years ago in a promotional photoshoot for the 1961 movie by the iconic late actress, and the prestigious jewellers were “thrilled” to see it round her neck.
Reed Krakoff, Tiffany & Co. chief artistic officer, said in a statement: “Lady Gaga is the ultimate creator, innovator and rule breaker, and I’m thrilled that she will be wearing the legendary Tiffany Diamond on the awards show red carpet for the first time since it was discovered 141 years ago.”
Gaga’s stylists, Sandra Amador and Tom Eerebout, based her entire look around her jewellery.
They told Vogue.com: “For the Oscars we turned to designers who we have had a history with and who we consider as family.
“The creative process then really began with the jewellery in mind.
“Diamonds carry so much energy within them – it was special to have one with so much history for a truly magical night.”
And the pair were delighted with Gaga’s dress, admitting she had stayed away from black throughout the entire awards season to have the most impact at the Oscars.
They said: “Sarah Burton [creative director] did an amazing job at creating a gown that embodies both a classic approach [to fashion] and the avant garde aesthetic of the brand.
“The element of surprise is so powerful – what makes a red carpet exciting is keeping everything unexpected.”
While the ‘Alejandro’ hitmaker’s updo and black gloves drew further comparisons with Audrey’s most famous movie character, Holly Golightly, the stylists insisted that wasn’t their intention.

OHMYGOSSIP — Keira Knightley’s new movie ‘The Aftermath’ is “not for the kiddies”.
The 33-year-old actress plays Rachael Morgan in James Kent’s new drama and was drawn to the film because of its “complexity”.
The ‘Pirates of The Caribbean’ star added that there are some X-rated love scenes that are not suitable for younger eyes.
Speaking to The New York Post’s PageSix column, she said: “I liked its complexity. The very grown-up love story is not for the kiddies.”
The ‘Love Actually’ star – who has three-year-old daughter Edie with her husband James Righton – has previously starred in war dramas such as ‘Atonement’ and ‘The Edge of Love’ – but she says this movie focuses on the “remarkable” rebuilding after the “conflict” and was eye-opening for her.
She said: “I’ve made World War II films. But never one about this specific part, the aftermath of the conflict.
“How they rebuilt not just the country but their cities and themselves. That this was possible was remarkable.”
Knightley previously admitted she likes to play women who aren’t “particularly likeable” in movies.
The ‘Colette’ star challenges the stereotype of a woman on screen by having lots of elements to her that that viewer needs to “understand”.
She said: “I think I always fight against likeability as far as particular women on screen go, you know we’re always told that we have to be likeable and I was interested in her because a lot of things she does aren’t particularly likeable.
“But I think it’s very important that you understand where she is coming from. I think if this film works – I hope it does – then it’s because you understand the different points of view that the people are coming from. I think that’s really important.”
The new movie is set in 1946 postwar Germany, and after being reunited with her husband Lewis (Jason Clarke), Rachel is shocked to discover she will be living with a German widower (Alexander Skarsgard) and his troubled daughter.
The film arrives in cinemas on March 1, 2019.
